"Great. I hate undead," mutters Olaf, taking a swing at S6 (hitting AC 18 for 5 points of damage, 2 points of cold damage). He then takes advantage of Grymash's charge to tumble back (OA from S4: 29 vs DC 15; S5: 27 vs DC 17; RS2: 28 vs DC 19; S6: 19 vs DC 21, fails, draws opportunity attack) to K13, shifting his sickle to his off hand and pulling out a cold iron mace.

As the rapke skeleton closes with the remorhaz, Gilan lashes out and catches the undead squarely. The rest of the undead close with the shifter.
DM Note -- I don't see anything about Gilan having Combat Reflexes, or it being a bonus feat for the remorhaz

Gilan then attacks the minotaur hanging from the ceiling. Neither of his attacks manage to hit that threat.

Tishe' summons two celestial creatures that dash off to threaten and attack the minotaur. As they close with it, the falchion lashes out and hits both of the summoned creatures. The damage from the minotaur's fists may be enough to destroy the bees.

Trellus casts a protective spell upon himself and then casts Prayer upon his companions and the opponents. Then the cleric moves closer to Gilan and the undead.

Vayine casts some lights to illuminate the combat before moving closer.

Grymash flies into a rage and charges after the closest of the skeletons (S6). He smashes it into flying bits of bone.

Olaf hits the other nearby skeleton but sees his sickle harmlessly clatter off the thing's ribacage. The cleric then moves backward to re-arm and is able to avoid the feeble attacks of the human skeletons and even the rapke skeleton.

Flea stands and thinks about what to do. Yanosh also stands still even though this is the best tactic when facing this number of opponents.

The minotaur keeps attacking Gilan, figuring that the shifter it the most immediate threat. The first blow nearly hits the remorhaz and the second isn't even close.

The first rapke skeleton tries to bite and claw the shifter but cannot hit.

The other rapke skeleton moves closer to attack Grymash. The skeletal jaws close on the half-orc but barely scratch the surface. The claws don't come close to Grymash's hide.

The dire boar zombie misses the shifter when it attempted to gore Gilan.

The zombies shuffle closer and one of them (Z3) manages to get close enough to Gilan to attack if it survives any opportunity attack. If it does, it manages to score the hide of the remorhaz. If it doesn't survive, the last zombie will also close with Gilan and attack, but doesn't hit.

"Someone's mumbling something over there!" shouts Flea, pointing her wand in the direction of the voice. Figuring the mumbler isn't likely to be a friend, the gnome attempts to activate her wand (UMD=19, fail), but it only sparks and sputters.

"Back off you weirdo's!" she shouts at the creatures that swipe at her, adding "Get 'em, Gilan!"

Gilan snaps his head around to scar the zombie that moves within his threat range, but he does not take the time to see if it falls. He is already turning back to the minotaur that might be the biggest problem in this fight. Having been unable to get purchase on the large being last round makes his scales glow red, though he cannot put out the heat that a normal remorhaz can. Still his jaws once again snap twice at the minotaur, trying to latch on and pull him in for closer combat.

Gilan is just able to figure out what is going on when he hears the mumbling, though he cannot see the one doing it. His voice is pitche slightly lower than usual and rumbles as it escapes his worm mouth. "Summoner nearby." He hopes that his warning is enough for someon to deal with it...as he does not want to break off combat just yet. Once the full power of the Bloodpack is upon these beasts, he might look for the caster.

The cleric figures Yanosh has the right idea. Clear out the piggies so Gry and Gilan can deal with the grown ups.

The two Celestial Bees are staggering in the air, but thanks to Tishe's Augment Summoning ability, they are tough enough to withstand at least one punch from the minotaur. The two bees try again, not being able to sting the enemy. (AC 6, 19)

Seeing the two humanoids in Gaseous Form at the ceiling, Tishe' gives a small thank you to Vayine and casts her Readied Magic Missle (action last round) into the lead form, hoping the magic will get through the spells damage resistance (15 damage). (Spellcraft: nat 1 on abilities of Gaseous Form)

The brown eyes narrow as Tishe' catches the sonorous phrases coming out of the darkness. (listen:24, Listen:28, Spellcraft(conjuration) 24) "There is a summoner more powerful than I am out there!", she calls to her packmates. "Get ready for company!"

Gilan bites the undead as it approaches, completely crushing the midsection of the thing and leaving rotten pieces of flesh sizzling on his jaws.

Flea notices the sound of spellcasting coming from the north passageway, somewhere out in the darkness beyond where even Gilan cannot see. She tries to send a magical missile at the distant target but fails to correctly activate her wand.

Yanosh drops his weapon and attempts to turn the undead. His effort accomplishes nothing even though he knows that he should have been able to destroy at least some of the undead.

Gilan tries to bite the minotaur but misses.
DM Note -- Natural attacks like the remorhaz's bite are normally limited to 1 attack, regardless of the BAB of the creature. Unless there is an effect like [i]Haste in effect, that means a shifter only gets one attack with each natural weapon. If that's not the case, please let me know and I may re-wind to this point. Whether Gilan and the minotaur are grappling matters a lot.[/i]

Olaf takes a roundabout route to get on the other side of the combat, including scooting through the legs of the first rapke skeleton. After pushing past the two zombies, he is where he wanted to be. The human cleric cannot see anything in the darkness in the north passageway.
DM Request -- When tumbling or any other complex movements in combat, please indicate each square on path so that I don't have to guess.

Trellus invokes a prayer to Domi and channels positive energy. The two gaseous figures overhead begun moving away from the cleric, two of the human skeletons and one human zombie are destroyed.

Tishe' unleashes her readied spell and sees the magical missiles strike the gaseous humanoid. Another magical missile follows and the humanoid is sorely injured. The summoned bees are unable to hit the minotaur.

Vayine casts a protective spell upon himself.

Grymash steps between Flea and the rapke skeleton. He swings his axe and hits the undead twice, having the satisfaction of seeing it fall to the floor in pieces. Unfortunately, there is no other target within range.

The minotaur moves a step southeast, closer to Gilan. Again, neither fist can land on the heavily armored hide of the remorhaz.

The remaining rapke skeleton tries to attack Gilan but also cannot land an attack.

The skeletons attack whichever member of the Bloodpack is closest. Two attack Gilan but cannot get past the remorhaz' armor. The last remaining skeleton attacks Flea but cannot hit the gnome.

The two gaseous humanoids flee away from Trellus. One moves directly over Gilan, allowing the remorhaz an opportunity to attack it.

The creature, whatever it is, in the northern passage completes its spell and a creature appears next to Olaf. It is the size of a tall human and carries a glaive. It immediately attacks the human cleric and scores two solid hits. The wounds left by the glaive bleed heavily, further weakening Olaf.

Olaf catches a glimpse of a large figure in the dim light in the north tunnel as the the spellcaster begins speaking again, this time in Common. The magic rushes towards the members of the Bloodpack that are in the north-south tunnel and they all feel a compulsion to flee.
Olaf, Gilan, Flea, Grymash -- DC 21 Will save (vs. enchantment) or Flee down the south tunnel.

Olaf twists in pain at the doubled impact of the summoned creature's glaive. The twisting in his gut tell him something has been disturbed by the creature's magic, but he thinks to his knowledge of the religions of the Wold, and wonders what it might be [doesn't have Knowledge Planes, but trying to use Knowledge Religion to know more about the creature, check result 28+1 for prayer = 29]. Then the words of the spell caster wash over him, and he just manages to maintain his resolve [21 will save vs. DC 21, successful]. He pushes onward, tumbling past a Zombie (Z1) and the summoned creature (Check of 22 vs DC 15, 25 vs DC 17) to I2, then taking 10 feet of further movement to get closer to the spell caster, sheathing his mace on the way.

If Olaf gets within 20 feet of the caster, he readies an action to cast silence on the mace at his side if the caster begins another spell.

If Olaf is not within 20 feet of the caster after the move, he instead loses disguise self to cast cure light wounds on himself (healing 13 hit points).

Gilan snaps his jaws at the mist that appears above him, though he is not sure what he can go against something of that nature. Still his weapons may help him out and he does not feel it is worth not giving a chance.

With a little bit of anger he turns his attention back to the minotaur that he has been unable to hurt so far. This is turning into a battle of wills right now as he waits to see who will score the first blow, drawing first blood from this fight. Then he feels magic wash over him, then the feeling to run hits him and he shakes his large head...beating down that feeling with a burst of raw power. This fight to not run ends up drawing his attention enough to make his jaws snap shut on thin air.

Olaf staggers under the impact of the summoned creature's weapon but withstands the magic from the spellcaster in the north tunnel. The human cleric tumbles further into the darkness, easily avoiding an attack by the zombie and even the summoned creature. Peering into the darkness, Olaf's human eyes cannot discern anything about the spellcaster so he tries to heal himself. He manages to close both of the wounds inflicted by the summoned creature's weapon.
DM Note -- the glaive wielded by the summoned creature has 10 ft reach.

Standing right next to the wall, Olaf sees that the walls have been covered with large pieces of cloth -- maybe sails or very large curtains. He can see dim light around the edges of the cloth so the magical glyphs must still be functioning. The cloth covering the wall has kept the intersection in the dark, lit only by what light comes from the tunnel by which he and his companions have entered the intersection.

Vayine charges in to attack the rapke skeleton. His sword rattles off the ribcage of the skeletal creature, knocking some bone fragments and ribs loose.

Gilan snaps his jaws and tears through the gaseous form of the humanoid as it passed over him. The magical compulsion nearly overcomes the shifter before he reaches deep himself to withstand the spell. Gilan then snaps at the minotaur but is unable to hit that opponent.

The two summoned bees move to flank the minotaur but cannot hit the creature either. The theurge moves closer to the combat and sends magical missiles towards the fleeing gaseous humanoid.

Tishe moves closer and sends some magical missiles at the closer of the two gaseous humanoids. She sees the missiles strike and, presumably, damage the humanoid.

Grymash nearly obeys the magical compulsion but the half-orc finds the strength inside himself to resist. He swings his axe twice and destroys both of the undead in front of him.

Trellus moves closer and again invokes the name of Domi. Unfortunately, for some reason, the undead are unaffected by the invocation of the positive energy.

Yanosh considers moving through and around the opponents to reach Olaf but doesn't dare push through so many.

Flea isn't affected by the enchantment spell and takes advantage of the space provided by Grymash and looks towards where the spellcaster must be hiding. She cannot see the spellcaster, however, so she does not trigger her wand.

The minotaur moves slightly and again attacks Gilan. Again, the minotaur nearly hits the shifter but the remorhaz's hide is too tough.

Olaf -- Must make a DC 16 caster level check for cure spells to have any effect.


Shouted commands come from the darkness in the north passage. From what the clerics can tell, it's an attempt to counter Trellus' turning attempt. Time will tell whether the unknown enemy cleric has been successful.

Gilan barely even registers the hit that finds its way through his tough hide. All of his concentration has been on the minotaur, but he is feeling a new need to get to the caster that is causing all the trouble. He kicks out behind him at the rapke skeleton, trying to free up some of the others to deal with other problems. Though he is not too hopeful of his chances at doing just that.

Gilan lashes out and hits the rapke skeleton. The force of his blow is enough to destroy the undead creature.

Trellus realizes that it isn't likely to be a spell that has protected the undead but, rather, something done by an evil cleric. The human cleric then moves closer to the fight and casts a spell upon the sword wielded by Vayine.

Olaf tumbles away from the bearded devil and tries to cut away some of the cloth hanging from the walls. His sickle slices through the heavy fabric to leave a gaping tear that lets some light shine through into the tunnel.

Yanosh starts casting a summoning spell.

The two celestial bees keep attacking the minotaur. Tishe' aims her wand at the minotaur and hits it with magical missiles.

Flea does the same from almost beneath the minotaur.

Grymash charges in and destroys the two remaining human skeletons.

Vayine has no opponents close by so he moves to the dire boar zombie. The sword damages the zombie but does not destroy it.

The minotaur moves away from Gilan, giving the shifter a chance to hit the creature.

The minotaur climbs partway down the wall until it can reach Flea. A long arm stretches out and smashes into the gnome.

Gilan snakes his head out to try and catch the minotaur as it slips out to get at Flea. With the skeletal rapke gone and the minotaur seemingly moving away from him he is starting to get more options for his own combat. Feeling that he needs to let Grymash get into this fight with the minotaur he decides to back out of the way. "Grymash...got a big one here for ya." His voice is still partly hissing and more rumbly but he is sure that his friend will take the hint...especially if the minotaur will add a challenge.

I'm sending this by e-mail as well. I apologize for not doing this last night when I should have first checked the player posts. I was making a HERO character for a Champions game on the weekend and needed several hours to work on that.

In the last turn, Gilan posted that he wanted to Bull-Rush the bearded devil. However, there is one character (Vayine) and an opponent (the human zombie) plus the dire boar zombie is blocking his movement. That means that Gilan can't charge the bearded devil.

Once Grymash moves, Gilan could attempt to move around the dire boar zombie but he doesn't have enough movement for that.

Unfortunately, all of the attacks on the dire boar zombie don't add up to enough to destroy it so I can't simply move Gilan's actions to after the dire boar zombie is destroyed.

To top it off, several other people intend to move into the space where Gilan has been standing.

So ... I'm suggesting that we re-wind this turn, especially for those characters who depend on Gilan moving. If you still can't view the map posts on Imageshack, let me know and I'll continue to send them by e-mail.

P.S. I'll really like every player to confirm that they have / have not been receiving the e-mails that I've sent from my Yahoo account. If possible, supply your preferred e-mail address so that I can update the address book.

I have no problem with NOT replaying the round. One person finds he can't do what he thought he could do and backs everyone else up like an accident on a busy highway.

Or else, Gilan's Rehmorahz form still moves, but has to squeeze so doesn't go as far.

Or else, Gilan bull rushes the first one in his way instead of his intended target.

OOC: Sorry, could not view the map at the time as my comp was and still is being funky. I will either try to move around the enemy to go in the direction that the bearded devil is or at least move as far as possible. This might mean that I will need to kill something else and then shift some distance to accomplish it.

By the way. Our computer is going to be down for at least a week or maybe two. For some reason it has started beeping when you try to start it instead of loading. So we are needing to take it in to have it looked at and not sure what the damages are going to be to get it back. Could someone play Gilan while I am gone? I am hoping that I will not be gone longer than two weeks max...but will have to see.

Gilan wants to rush and crush the bearded devil but both Vayine and the dire boar zombie are between the shifter and his target.

Olaf moves farther north, tumbling past any attacks from the humanoid. The human cleric looks north into the darkness but does not see anything. The wound from the glaive continues to bleed and Olaf loses 2 hps.

Vayine slashes the dire boar zombie twice, leaving great gaping wounds in it's side. However, he does not have the satisfaction of seeing the creature destroyed by his enchanted weapon.

Tishe' commands her bees to continue attacking the minotaur, which ignores the flying pests. The theurge then begins casting another summoning spell.

Yanosh completes his spell and a celestial black bear appears next to Gilan and the dore boar zombie. The bear immediately attacks and damages the dire boar zombie. The damage from the bear's claw is enough to destroy the zombie. The cleric moves close to the human zombie but almost shatters his axe on the stone floor of the passageway.

Grymash charges the minotaur, allowing it to swing at him as the half-orc moves within range. The minotaur's fist passes harmlessly over Grymash's head. Once Grymash gets within range the big axe comes around and glances off the minotaur's armor.

Once Grymash has moved and the dire boar is destroyed, Gilan has a path open to him so he moves to close with the bearded devil. As he moves, the minotaur swings at his back three times. The first three swings miss but the last catches the remorhaz in a vulnerable spot. Shaking from that strike, Gilan continues until he can almost reach the bearded devil.

The minotaur launches itself off the wall with a deep, throaty chuckle coming from it's mouth. Surprising for such a large creature, it manages to twist and tumble through the air right past Grymash and land behind Flea and Trellus. The minotaur moves so nimbly that it isn't possible to attack during its movement. A fist lashes out towards the human cleric but the minotaur doesn't hit.

Seeing the minotaur is closer, Tishe' directs her new summoning to appear directly behind the vampire-taur. Gilan feels the sapping strength of the vampire taur and though it hurts, he does not let it show...he cannot let it show. The bearded devil that awaits him is something that he cannot be allowing fear to take a hold in his head.

The glaive strike is near but not good enough to hit him. He bellows another challenge and then snaps his long snakey neck forward at the summoned beast. With a sickening smile he tries to lay teeth into the beast and then lock it in place, effectively grappling the enemy and taking him out of the fight...at least for a few.

As Grymash charges in, the minotaur punches the barbarian. In addition to the pain of the injury, Grymash feels some of his life force leaching away. Grymash misses the minotaur with his attack, though.
AoO vs. Grymash -- hits AC 29, 13 hps damage, 2 negative levels

Yanosh directs the celestial bear to attack the minotaur which it does, to no effect. The cleric's attack on the zombie, though, is sufficient to destroy the undead creature.

Flea switches tactics and scores the minotaur with her holy weapon. A nauseating odour rises from the smoking wound caused by the sword.

Trellus follows the gnome's lead and draws a heavy mace. Calling upon Domi, the human cleric manages to hit the minotaur. However, his weapon fails to make any impression upon the minotaur.

Neither of the celestial bees hit the minotaur. The summoned bison, though, charges into the minotaur and bashes it. Tishe' then triggers her wand and send more magical missiles into the minotaur.

Gilan bites the bearded devil and grips it tightly.

Vayine doesn't have any undead targets that he recognizes.

Olaf stares off into the darkness.

The two Celestial bees valiantly attempt to follow the minotaur (Aoo's?) and get through the vampire's defense, but niether getting close. Then, the magic keeping the flyers in the Wold expire, and the bees return to the Lands of Rest.

The Celestial Bison bellows and also follows the tumbling minotaur, flashing with sharp horns. (AC 32 crit! 23miss, Damage: 13)

Tishe' feels the vamp-taur is not too worried about her spells, but she vailantly tries to reduce the vampire's health with more magic missles. (11 magical damage)

"They are all undead!" She shouts, giving voice to her frustrations, "zombies and vampires! Yuck!"

Gilan is through playing around and he tries to maintain the hold on the summoned devil. Unfortunately for the devil, if he is not able to get away he is going to end up inside the bellow of the huge behemoth. Silently Gilan feels a little sick at the idea, but another part of him is more than happy with the situation.

He slowly turns to survey the battle and get an idea of what might be his next best target. Though he is still a little unhappy about the minotaur vampire not allowing him to get a hold on it.

"Aha!" laughs Flea when Tishe' informs all regarding the nature of the enemy.

Wielding her holy sword, she uses the magic of her boots to crowd 'round the tricksy undead. With all her friends about the demon, she is able to get into a flanking position, but alas, her manouvres are for naught as her aim is wide of her mark! Her second swing is no better. (nat 1 x 2 for 16 and 11 vs AC 28, fail both *sigh*)

Vayine lashes out at the minotaur, striking it solidly. As the weapon cuts into the creature, the wound rips open and continues to spread wider until the minotaur falls to the floor. The wound grows in all dimensions until the floor can be seen through the gaping hole in the minotaur's body. Finally, with a small puff of dust, the minotaur's body is wholly consumed and several items fall to the floor.

All the others see their opponent destroyed by the enchanted weapon wielded by Vayine, so do not use their magical items or spells.

Over in the other tunnel, Gilan gulps and the devil disappears down the throat of the remorhaz form that the shifter is using. In a moment, Gilan feels a sharp pain inside his body.
Devil -- claw 1 hits AC 22 (Vs. AC 15), 4 damage; claw 2 misses AC 10

Olaf heals himself, overcoming the magic of the devils' blade.

There is no sign of the unknown spellcaster or the humanoids that escaped northwards in gaseous form. Gilan still has a pain in his belly.

"The taur was undead?" he asks stupidly, before his face contorts into a look of annoyance.
"Well, light," he growls, disgusted with himself. "I shoulda picked THAT up."

The cleric stows his mace, and sets about retrieving various scrolls from his HHHaversack.
"Who got zapped by a vampire?" he asks. "I got some restoration spells here to get your threads back."

taking a few second before checking on everone else, Vayine walks up to Trellus. "thank you brother, that was a pretty shady spell. I'll pray to Gargul that he will one day in his wisdom grant me that blessing."

The battle quickly being over, the bees and bison head back to the Lands of Rest.

Tishe' is chagrined that she recognized the vampire for what it was but did not inform her packmates. "If you know a shady weave, tell someone else!", she chides herself.

Looking around, she sees the cloth covering the corridor panels and tears one down, finally allowing the light to stream in the corridor. "This is why the light didn't show up!" she announces angrily. "We've got to go after the retreating vampires, or else they'll just regroup again. Let's cut thier threads!"

Tishe' is all ready to charge down the corridor after the enemy as soon as she can convince her packmates.

Gilan, still in his remorhaz form, lumbers back over to the group. His tail is twitching and he does not feel all that well. For some reason he knew that he would pay for eating that stupid devil. As he looks to the rest of the group he cannot help but spit up his last meal again, letting the devil go...though his stomach juices might have already done the job.

"Note to self...don't eat strange summoned creatures." If the devil is still alive and since he deposited it right in the middle of all his friends...it should survive a long time. Glancing to Trellus he nods his head. "I can use a little help from that vampire attack." He wishes that he would have had access to that spell himself.

As the party regroups, she tucks her wand (MM) into the crimson sash at her waist, but keeps her holy short sword in her right hand.

Eyeing the drow's weapon, she sighs covetously, "that's just AWESOME Vayine!"

If given the opportunity, Flea will check out the items dropped by the disintigrating Minotaur.

The Bloodpack begin recovering from the combat. Trellus begins pulling scrolls from his HHHaversack to repair those who were damaged by the vampire. Gilan is the only one who requests Restoration, but several others were also damaged by the vampire minotaur. After some time, everyone who wants healing has been healed.

Vayine and Flea both move to inspect the items left by the minotaur's passing. Flea can tell that both items are masterwork in quality.

Tishe' is all set to pursue the vampires and the spellcaster after she examines the cloths covering the walls. Olaf examines the fabric more closely, as well, and figures that it could be tugged down with some effort. As the human tears the cloths and illuminates the tunnel, Olaf can see that the coverings end roughly 20 feet beyond where he was standing.

Gilan moves closer and regurgitates the devil. The creature is somewhat worse for the experience even though it wasn't burned by the remorhaz's fiery insides. It's a relatively quick matter for the Bloodpack to dispatch the prone summoned creature.

The Bloodpack figure out who is going to be healed, and what to do with the items. Then it would be time to either pursue the vampires or explore in the opposite direction.

Realizing his invisibility is fast dwindling, Olaf sighs, then turns towards the group. "So, what's gonna be the plan? Looks like the walls are gonna keep providin' light for us. With a last look around, Gilan melts back into his human form and shrugs his shoulders. The change in size is always a little odd and he feels, less himself when he does it. With a nod to Trellus he smiles. "Thanks for the healing...vampires seem to have a knack for draining your energies." With that same smile he glances to the rest of the group that he can see and jokes. "Hey, if I have devil breath just let me know." He laughs as he listens to what the others are saying and waits to see what course of action they will be taking.

Gilan glances to the others and then nods his head. "Light you want...light you shall get." He stops long enough to cast a single spell with a rod he pulls out upon himself, toughening up his skin even further as it gains a barky texture. As his form is shifting his is already moving in the direction that the enemies went. He stops at one point long enough to cast a single spell upon himself, toughening up his skin even further as it gains a barky texture. As his form finally stops in the form of a lizard he is up the wall and moving ahead of the group. Silently he thanks some lizards for having sticky pads on their feet that allow them to hold onto ceilings better. He tries to stay no more than twenty feet ahead of the group.

Prompted by Tishe', the Bloodpack regroup and head down the northern tunnel. Now that the fabric coverings have been torn down, the glyphs illuminate the tunnel as before. As Olaf observed before, the vampire and the other undead only covered a short distance around the intersection so how the spellcaster escaped is still a mystery.

The Bloodpack find that the north tunnel is very similar to the tunnel that they followed from the portal. As before, glyphs mark the walls at regular intervals and these glyphs glow whenever a member of the Bloodpack approaches.

It's not long before the Bloodpack encounter a barrier.

Someone, or something, has placed a sheer stone wall across the tunnel in front of them. Everyone can see that it rises about ten feet above the floor but does not extend completely to the ceiling. Gilan, from his perch on the ceiling, sees that the wall is about 4 inches thick and there is ample room for everyone to climb up and over the wall.

The tunnel is dark beyond the wall. There is no sign of the humanoids or the spellcaster that fled down the tunnel.

Grymash is unsure what is wrong with him. Something isnt right with the way he is feeling. The combat is like a hazy memory. He remembers the crushing of bones. The splash of black, foul smelling ichor that these undead pass for blood. And that demontaur .... it did something different from the rest. A part of him is missing. The slam he took from the horned undead beast has left a rather pronounced bruise. "Trellus, Gry be wounded dat no heal. Gry maybe dyin'!!"

Grymash searches his fragile mind for an answer. He has read is Book of Gargul quite a bit, he tries to recall in information about undead like the demontaur.

"I got ya, dude," he reassures his friend. "Looks like the taur was a vampire. When it hit you, it sucked some of your life force out of you. Gilan, too."

"Which is why we brought these," he continues with a comforting grin.

In fact, the blond man is so fascinated by the curve of the tunnel that he really doesn't bother much with the presense of the wall before him.

He glances at Tishe. "Got anything to punch through that?" he asks. "I'd rather not squeeze over with vampires on the other side."

From his spot above the wall he glances around. "Tishe' is right...the wall is magical and the tunnel is curving as the master dwarf stated." He slips on across the top of the wall, though from the ceiling. He takes up a silent sentinel position so that he can watch the area for the others. From the other side of the wall you can hear his voice, pitched high enough to be heard...but still small. "I can watch this side as others come over and through. If needed, I can also defend you as you are coming over as well...though my powers are getting thin." He does not feel that he needs to explain further and figures that Tishe' might understand what he is hinting at anyways. Some of the others might as well, since they know him so well. He silently gives himself crap for using up a spell that might have allow them to take down the wall or at least a part of it.

Before the Bloodpack moves out, Trellus uses two scrolls to heal both Grymash and Gilan from the damage caused by the vampiric minotaur. The cleric still has two scrolls remaining to heal his companions and Flea is the only one still suffering from the effects of the vampire's attacks.

When they reach the Wall of Stone that is partially blocking the tunnel, the Bloodpack quickly conference with suggestions about how to proceeed. Tishe' suggests teleporting herself and some others to establish a safe area while the others climb. Gilan suggests that he keep watch, instead, while the others get over the wall. The shifter cave lizard does not see or sense any opponents in the darkness beyond the wall. Finally, Olaf suggests that he use a spell to create an opening in the magically created stone wall.

No consensus exists among the Bloodpack. Several of the Bloodpack, including Yanosh and Flea, notice that the wall is curving towards the west.

Gilan knows very little about structure and how things are made, unless it comes to carving...a talent he likes very much. As he keeps his place on the other side of the wall he calls back to the pack. "Nothing seems to be present over here." At a nod from Trellus, Olaf casts his spell and shapes a hole in the relatively thin wall that stretches across the tunnel. While this is going on, Yanosh has been staring at the walls and then pronounces that the new tunnel is slowly curving and would eventually return to this point.

Before Olaf casts his spell, Flea is boosted up and over the wall to join Gilan on the other side. Finally, once some protection is available on the other side, both Trellus and Tishe' cross and the Bloodpack is assembled again.

The tunnel continues onward into the north (and west, just a bit) just as before - dark and seemingly empty. There's not telling how far the Bloodpack might travel before they reach anything interesting. Of course, with Gilan and the scouts, they have some options for arranging themselves for scouting.

Trellus finally figures out that Flea has also been struck by a vampire, and he takes care of the gnome with the help of one of his trusty scrolls [Cast Restoration on Flea].

The blond man is a bit dubious with Yanosh's pronouncement - "It'd have to be one seriously big circle, wouldn't it?" he wonders aloud. But the point is made, and the cleric calls a halt.

"If this is a circle, they can get behind us and cut us off from the Portal," he notes. "Now we got spells that can create food and water, so we're OK there. The biggest problem is gonna be if they stop us from returning, and then we can't find a way to hole up for some rest, they could wear us down."

He considers, and then continues.

"We ain't been down here that long. I'm for pushing ahead for an hour or so, and seeing what we find. Then we turn back and take our chances. But I'm up for a quick vote. What do you dudes think?"

The lizard from the ceiling looks down at the group and nods his reptilian head. "If we decide to press on...I can easily fall back to watch behind us. This of course will leave you not having any warning from the front." He does not let it be known that he thinks attacks from behind could be worse for them anyways.

As he slowly paces a little, getting more use to the abilities of a lizard he looks around. "We could easily explore a little further and then turn around to return to home. If we come back again tomorrow to finish what exploration we started...I can have a different set of spells ready." To be honest he does not mind continueing for a little while longer...another hour will not hurt, unless they run into heavy resistance.

The Bloodpack decide that continuing to explore is the better option. After everyone passes through the opening in the wall created by Olaf, they arrange themselves with the scouts in front and a cluster around the spellcasters.

As before, as they move forward glyphs on the walls glow and then fade behind them. The scouts do not see anything before, or behind, the party. They might, however, notice something else.

"Uh dudes?" he says, pointing to the dust in front of him on the floor. "All these footprints look like they are heading toward our fight. But nothing is heading away. We chased off two gaseous forms and the spellcaster, which I guess is that <pointing to a snakelike line in the dust>. Either they're all flying, or they used that wall as some kind of decoy."

Trellus ponders for a moment.

"Probably all flying. But we better see something hit the floor soon."

Olaf keeps his eyes peeled as they traverse the circling tunnel, looking at the glyphs on the wall. "Wonder if there's somethin' we're missin' 'bout the walls." Otherwise, he continues with the group.

From his position on the ceiling he listens to the others talk and then shifts over to drop to the floor at Trellus's feet. "I am going to go back the way we came and check out the walls. If I try to walk over anything that is not real...I will just pass around the corner anyways." He is not too worried as the magic that Trellus cast on him earlier is still working, he can feel it at least. He takes the time to cast one of the simpler spells he knows on himself before he move off.

With a last look to the group and a flick of his tail he takes off back down the tunnel, but only after running up the side of right wall and running along it.

Gilan heads back along the tunnel in search of hidden exits and the like. After travelling for several minutes, he hasn't found anything.

The rest of the party stand about looking at the tracks in the dust. The puzzle seems to be the large snake trail, or whatever it is. While keeping an eye on the ground, the scouts move forward a short distance until they see the entrance of another tunnel ahead of them. And, just at the limits of their vision near the new tunnel, the start of another trail from the passage of a large serpentine body.

Grymash continues on with his pack. Looking over his shoulder every few seconds. He tries to follow the trail, if it's not too difficult. "Gry see da trail of da sneaky snake. Hmmm!?"

Vayine looks around hearing his companions discussions. "Either way we need to be weary of the summoner. It summoned that demon last time, who knows what else it can summon now that it knows were here." Vayine takes his place at the rear of the pack again, offering his services as a rear guard his heat sensitive eyes looking all around the party

Not having any other preparations to make, Tishe' keeps her staff with her and keeps with the group. Thinking for a second, she also brings to hand her bag of tricks in case quick support will be needed.

"Snake trail or other corridor, hmmm...", she considers. "I think getting the enemy first is more important to finding another transport stone." Tishe's mind runs ahead, beliveing everyone else thinks like her that the next corridor would be identical to thier own tunnel and stone.

Olaf shakes his head in mute disbelief. After a moment spent investigating the glyphs on the wall once more, he pipes up, "Somethin' doesn't feel right 'bout this place. I wonder if we might be able to make 'em come to us, fight on our terms. 'Course, got no good ideas right now, but I'd rather be on the surprisin' side." Having said his peace, he goes back to examining the walls, looking for more detail, before getting ready to head out and scout.

Gilan paces along the other side of the hallway as he comes back to find the group. Though he is not totally disappointed that he found nothing, he might have wanted to find something at least. If he finds nothing on the return trip on the other side of the hallway, he will let the group know and then fall back into formation.

Once again he can be found traveling on the top of the ceiling, eyes and ears alert for sounds of enemies.

The New Intersection (DM JohnP)

Grymash takes a look at the tracks in the dust and figures that he can easily follow them. Trellus motions the half-orc to keep the party headed in the direction of the tracks.

As the debate swirls, the party carefulyl moves ahead to the intersection. It seems nearly identical to where they have recently come from. The new corridor trails off into the darkness, glyphs visible upon the walls. A quick glance by Grymash indicates that there has been no recent traffic to or from the new corridor.

Trailing behind on the ceiling, Gilan doesn't see any signs of other corridors or hidden passages.

Cotninuing onwards, the party keeps following the tracks in the dust. Shortly, after about half the time that it took them to move between the corridor from Oddholme to the new one, they reach a new corridor. The difference is that this tunnel leads inwards if, in fact, this tunnel really does curve in a full circle. The tracks lead onwards and not into this new tunnel.

Bunched up with her companions, her holy short sword in hand, the rogue continues cautiously along the confusing route.

She's feeling up to her old form, thanks to the ministrations of the cleric. "I don't think those things like my sword," she says in a loud whisper. "Anyone know anything else that might hurt them bad? 'sides Gry?" The gnome sniggers, then covers her mouth with her free hand, hoping the more serious types don't reprimand her.
