The Aftermath and what comes next (DM Cayzle) Monday December 29th, 2008 5:25:14 PM
Brahmah suggests using an undead to get the party to the control room, like Xenia was planning.
Wynn warns Xenia. She relates what she knows as well.
Syr checks on Florin and brings Brahmah up to date. The monk realizes that with the guide dead,, it will be much harder to find the way.
Harley is worried about Florin too.
Florin wonders if he would still be subject to the enemy if he met again. He asks Belkior.
Belkior is pretty sure that he has removed the enchantment from Syr. He does know that Ga'alian priests use domination spells, and this one seemed heightened.
Florin predicts that the fight ahead will be tough.
Then Wynn gets a very brief fragment of a message from Xenia. Something about a trap -- and the link to her (telepathic and through Belkior's spell) is severed. Anti-magic? A planar disruption? You don't know why, but your contact with her is ended.
So what will you do? I'm assuming that you have managed to subdue and bind one undead. And that you could use Wynn's blinking to see the direction of its cord, and then to head in that general direction. Is that your plan? Actions?

Divine Health (Immune to diseases, even super natural ones) Life Shield+2 (Bonus to AC vs Undead) Magic Circle vs Evil *From Belkior* Barkskin (20mins from Xenia) Bull's Strength (12mins)
Florin glances at the others once Belkior is done and then to Syr before shrugging and speaking to him, "I know how much you hate just standing around so we should get going. The sooner there and we end this the sooner the people might be saved, right?"
Florin is ready to head out once the others are. He keeps his sword and shield readied when the group starts moveing out and speaks to the magic users of the group as the move, "We have any silence spells left? Could the spell be cast on a arrow and shot into the room where the enemy is? I mean we could get the silence spell closer to the clerics then and keep them from casting spells abit easier. Or maybe something far enough into the room that would block vision." Florin thinks and has some smoke sticks, he wonders if a smoke stick could be shot into the room, how far would a arrow fly with one of those smoke sticks, his bow is set up for his stregnth so it might fly farthar with the extra weight.
(DM: If Florin used some rope of cloth to attach a smoke stick to a arrow and tried fireing it into the room with his bow, would it fly very far or even be possible to be done? I figure the arrow would surely fly farther then someone could throw the smoke stick.)
Wynn [AC=26; HP=66/75] Blinking Tuesday December 30th, 2008 5:01:56 PM
A shiver of cold runs through the bard when his telepathic link is severed with Xenia. "I've lost her" he says, more to himself than the group. "I've lost Xenia, she was thinking about a trap...and then she was gone". Floating City never seemed so lonely to the half-elf as it does this very minute. "We have to save her! I'll lead you by following the chords." The bard begins blinking again so that he might see the tendrils that attach the undead to whatever controls them.
Belkior - (AC 24 (26 vs. evil); HP 52/91) - Magic Circle vs. Evil, Purifying Aura, Prayer Tuesday December 30th, 2008 10:19:10 PM
The halfling cleric staggers when the link to Xenia is severed. Belkior immediately looks to Wynn to determine how the bard reacts. After he sees that Wynn believes that Xenia may still be rescued, Belkior hesitates to say anything. He merely readies himself to encounter whatever is at the end of the ethereal cord from the undead.
Syr Ac 35/34 HP 135/142 Thursday January 1st, 2009 8:37:03 AM
Hearing the bards words Syr shivers. He can not imagine the group without red there. Adding some urgency to his words, "Florin, pick up that thing and stay in the back of the group. Until we take care of that priest, I still don't know how well you can be trusted. I trust you understand? Wynn, haste is now vital. Go! It would be nice to have Xenia around but I doubt that they have the time or skills to set traps other than an ambush for us."
Brahmah, Captain of the Chosen of Domi (AC 25, Hps 103/126) Alarm (in I5 square) Monday January 5th, 2009 1:18:49 PM
OOC: Sorry all. Holidays and such! Checking in!
Syr Ac 35/34 HP 135/142 Monday January 5th, 2009 1:30:49 PM
Happy holidaze to all and I too am just checking in
The group sets out. Without Darples, you really do not know where you are going, and you would soon be completely lost, but for Wynn's ability to see the grey cords that link the undead and the ... the center?
Even so, the slogging is very slow. You find yourself hitting lots of dead ends, doubling back, going around.
Florin thinks ahead to the final confrontation. He thinks he could try to improvise a bow trick or two. [OOC: I'd allow that, with a roll to hit at a penalty of some sort.]
And you come to realize that Darples was guiding you around and past a number of traps. A portcullis falls on (rolling randomly among Harley, Belkior, Wynn, Syr, and Florin) Syr, hitting AC36 for 8 hp damage, and putting Harley on one side, and Belkior, Wynn, and Florin on the other (Syr is underneath).
It is a Str check 25 to lift the portcullis off Syr. How will you get past this obstacle?
[OOC: I have two new players coming to join the game. I hope to add them both this week.]

"Bramah!" Wynn calls to the minotaur, "See if you can get this off our friend." Wynn gives their newest member some room to manouver and extracts his rod of enemy detection from his boot. The bard scans his surroundings, trying to determine teh numbers and locations of his enemies. "Not a good time to be caught unawares" he explains.

Florin frowns when Syr is pinned and nods as he grins and looks to the large minotaur, "Well, you were bragging about being all the beef on the hoof so it's your turn to shine." Florin smiles as he jokes with Brahmah about his comments earlier about all his muscles.
Florin takes the time since he has a few mins to talk to those not busy for the moment, "Anyone have any rope skill? I hate to admit I don't." Florin will pull a pair of arrows from his quiver along with a pair of smoke sticks, "I need these two smoke sticks attached to these two arrows. One per arrow. I'm thinking if I can land them in the room close enough to the clerics that it will harm their line of sight and maybe buy a few mins."

Brahmah smirks, sheathes his weapons, and dries his hands in dirt, grit, whatever, and attempts to lift the portcullis. He squats, bending at the knees, back to the gate, hands wrapped tight at the bottom. "You realize that there might be an auto locking type gear or something on this thing, right? I may require help."

The halfling cleric crouches down beside Syr to check exactly how much damage the portcullis has done to his friend. Belkior tries not to jostle the bars of the gate while he speaks to Syr.
"Did you want me to heal you? I can't offer much to lifting this thing off."
If Syr requests it, Belkior will use a wand to cast Cure Moderate Wounds on Syr, completely healing the monk.

Syr hears the gate come down but is too stunned to move as it slams into him. He grunts in pain as the rest of the group shifts the portcullis but fails to lift it. "Guys, Guys, don't strain yourself. The first order of business is to get me out of here. The second is to secure the perimeter. Everyone but Belk lift on the count of three? If this doesn't work, then we search for the hidden mechanism but let's try teamwork for the sake of expediency. I doubt they will be here right away but our 'friends' must have heard the noise and we are split right now.
Wincing in pain, he asks the halfling, "Belk, if you don't mind hit me once with that heal." He sighs with relief as the wand touches his skin.

Syr Ac 35/34 HP 142 Wednesday January 7th, 2009 12:33:30 AM
Syr stops straining against the gate with a thought, "Wynn, can you lend me your ring for a second? I'm not quite sure how these things work but can't I just blink, get up, and then pass the ring to anyone else on the wrong side of the gate? Heck, it allows you to get through walls, what's a little gate to stop it?"
The Simple Solution Nets An Answer (DM Cayzle) d20=7 ; Wednesday January 7th, 2009 12:56:21 AM
The group heaves at the portcullis on a first try, but it will take more than that. Wynn takes a quick look for a lever to open it, but none is found at a glance. Before the party resorts to a sustained heave or a prolonged search, Syr has a bright idea -- borrowing the Blink Ring, he is back in action in no time.
A quick cure from Belkior, and it is as if the Portcullis had never dropped.
But will the same be said after the next trap? For yes, the party stumbles into another one! Everyone make a Reflex save vs DC19; if you fail, you are hauled up in a net -- up 30 feet through an illusionary ceiling. Those who save are left on the floor, and cannot see through the illusionary ceiling unles they can interact with it by touching it. Those in the net can act as if grappled; the net has a grapple DC of 14.
OOC: Has anyone heard from MattC? Harley's last post was Dec. 22.

Caught UP In Events (DM Cayzle) Wednesday January 7th, 2009 11:16:34 PM
Two of our heroes are nimble enough to avoid the net. Is anyone else? Brahmah, interacting with the illusion, gains a Will save vs DC19 and if he makes it, then he can see through it.

All the heroes evade the net except Wynn -- and his blink ring lets him get free of it easily. Up above, the clockwork vermin swarm with no target. The party passes onwards.
Wynn continues to lead the group, directing the party according to what he sees when he blinks into the plane of shadows. The corridors are getting wider, affording Brahmah more room, at last.
But Wynn's sight into the shadows avails him not at all as the party stumbles upon another trap.
Ten feet ahead of the party, and ten feet behind, walls slam down, sealing the corridor. Water floods in through holes in the floor. You have about four rounds before it fills up. Actions?

Harley deduces that the enemy has "re-programmed" at least some of the traps. And with Darples not here to guide you around them, well ...
Certainly, with adamantine, it will be possible to puncture a hole or three in the wall. That slows the flow long enough for Syr to do some blinking-exploring. And just around the corner, he finds a room with four levers, and two people -- adventurers, by the look of them -- sitting on the floor -- inside a shimmering glass box. Maybe one of those levers will free the party? Or these two? Which (1, 2, 3, or 4) will Syr try? All start in the up position. Sound cannot escape the glass box, nor can it be smashed.

Brahmah is a minotaur who stands feet taller than any other party member. He carries two swords (one of which is a medium sized falchion) and is tattooed from head to hoof. His mithril shirt armor is well kept but well used. His forearms scarred with what had been deep wounds. He is missing his left ear and tail and his horns are carved and engraved. He seems sharp eyed and doesn't look as if he is a dense minotaur...

One may open the forcecage and let out the two prisoners. But who are they?
One may open the trap and save his friends from a watery doom.
What do the other two do? Could they be traps? or worse?
Meanwhile, Florin and Wynn desperately hack at the stone wall, doing some damage to it. They two worry about how the undead plague is spread. Brahmah, meanwhile, stands fast and aids howsoever he can.

The halfling cleric rests uncomfortably on the shoulders of the minotaur. The only good thing that Belkior can think of is that the water on the floor will cushion him when he falls off.
Belkior smooths his vestment that proudly displays the symbol of Alemi over the fine chain shirt that protects his upper body. Right now, there is no real demand for any healing magics so the halfling simply waits.

Syr looks over at the two caged prisoners for signs of life. He waves a tentative greeting before focusing on the levers.
He examines the levers for a brief moment to determine which is the least used from wear (Spot 17). Talking to himself and maybe the two behind him if they have a way of hearing, "My friends are trapped in a watery cage. I would bet that these levers open it. The two most used levers would unlock your boxes as they probably are switched on/off more. The least used is probably some horrible trap for me standing here. With that said.... here goes." The elf shrugs causing his dark ponytail to bounce and pulls the two levers with the 'middle' amount of wear. OOC: Sorry, Cayzle and others, I even made a New Year's resolution to post regularly too. I had an OSHA visit at one of my facilities to deal with.

Harley stands around waiting. He will teleport out at the last possible moment.

The minotaur looks at Horace and then over his shoulder, through the 'glass', to the little, young elf looking at the levers. "Friend or foe?!" he bellows, but Horace is the only one who hears it. He rummages through a backpack and other gear on the floor - assorted weaponry mostly. Standing as tall as this prison will allow, he steps to get at least a little into the stranger's field of vision, and waves his hand in an attempt to attract his attention.
He is just over 10' tall, and dressed in what looks like chainmail. A red bandana sits atop his head bearing a WLA Journeyman badge. Most everything else on and about him is black. Thick black hair hangs haphazardly knotted down his back to bellow his waist to deep black breeches. He is clearly 'disappointed' at being inside this see-through box, though he has long since decided that bashing on it is of no use.

Brahmah, Captain of the Chosen of Domi (AC 25, Hps 103/126) Thursday January 15th, 2009 12:04:42 PM Mac sees Brahmah is wearing a blue Guardsman badge for the WLA as well. Brahmah has black hair as well, but it is greying in places.
Mac Thursday January 15th, 2009 4:09:37 PM
Mac turns to see... "BRAHMAH! It is GOOD to see you AGAIN!" ...except, again, no one but Horace can hear him, which is a shame because (a) he would really like someone outside this box to hear him, and (b) he's getting more than a little loud for a confined space, and maybe Horace would rather he was just a lot quieter.
He sighs, picking up his family's axe, and proceeds to tap on a variety of walls, ceiling and floor of their 'glass' confinement.
Free at Last! Free at Last! (DM Cayzle) d10=8 ; d100=14 ; d10=3 ; Thursday January 15th, 2009 6:31:44 PM
Syr comes up with a reasonable idea to determine the best lever, and takes his best guess. And his thoughtfulness pays off! The walls of the trap come crashing down (Wynn yanks his sword out of a hole in a wall just in time!), the water splashes harmlessly everywhere, and the party is free.
Syr's best guess is that one lever opens the near wall of the trap, and the other, the far wall.
Mac does his best version of "Mime tapping on a glass box from the inside." He's really quite good! :-)
Mac and Brahmah recognize each other, and that may do something to ease any tension.
There are two more levers, and one is clearly more worn than the other. It seems a no brainer [and the DM wants to move the game along], so Syr follows through with his instinct and logic and pulls the lever that frees the two newcomers.
Wynn [AC=26; HP=66/75] Blinking Thursday January 15th, 2009 8:07:31 PM
Wynn sheepishly approaches Syr. "I am truly sorry Syr. I never thought...I pray you were not infected by wearing the ring. I will probably perish, but there is no reason you should also die because of my carelessness."
The two newcomers cannot help but notice the forlorn half elf. Wynn stands some 5'7" and weighs a mere 160 lbs, a pittance next to Bramah. Medium length hair and a short beard confined to his chin do little to hide his otherwise elven appearance. Fot those who look more closely, beneath his raised collar hides a set of what might apepar to be gills. Wynn is dressed in a fine leather vest and pants that partly conceal a mithril shirt. A longsword hangs from his hip, and a hammer is tucked into his belt.
Harley (AC 31; HPs 85/85) Thursday January 15th, 2009 11:12:58 PM
Harley is sighs in relief that the trap has been deactivated. He does wonder what other traps are in store for them.
"Good job Syr. Glad you got us out of there."
Harley looks at the two now free humanoids. He hopes they are friendly.
OOC - Harley is taller than average human with a lean, muscular build. He is wearing Full Plate armor and has a Buckler strapped to his left arm. He is holding a non-descript Flail. A holy symbol can be seen around his neck.
Syr Ac 35/34 HP 142 Friday January 16th, 2009 12:21:35 AM
Syr hands the ring back to Wynn with a smile, "Don't worry about it. Whatever it takes to get us out of there." He hands the ring back to Wynn, "Let's not do that again, walking through walls gives me the willies."
Syr puts his hands on his hips and looks at the two newcomers. He snorts as he doesn't even come up to the waist of the minotaur. However, his diminutive stature hides a well muscled form beneath rather drab, brown, clothing. He sticks out his hand and smiles, "Hi! I'm Syrdeth... umm... are you infected?" He looks hard at the big creature for signs of contamination.
Looking at the rest of the group, "Anyone want to take point? I know we all miss Red but we have to find someway to replace her for the time being. I think based upon what happened, I'll lag 30' or so behind everyone else. If things get hairy, I can always catch up quickly.
Mac Friday January 16th, 2009 6:02:22 PM
Mac takes Syr's offered handshake. "Mac, and this is Horace. Uninfected? I think so, but how would I know? Besides, do you know what's going on down here?"
Belkior - (AC 24 (26 vs. evil); HP 52/91) - Magic Circle vs. Evil, Purifying Aura, Prayer d20+5=13 ; d20+25=35 ; d20+25=40 ; d20+25=27 ; Friday January 16th, 2009 10:08:27 PM
The halfling cleric leaps down from the minotaur's shoulders and lands lightly on the floor. Belkior catches up with Wynn, shaking his furred legs to get rid of as much water as possible. The Paragon moves closer to examine the bard to determine if he is actually infected. Heal = 35
Once he has done that, Belkior moves over to the prisoners and examines them as well. As he does, Belkior introduces himself. Heal = 40, Heal = 27
"Belkior Orvisson, Healer and Paragon of Alemi. Let me check you over, please."
Mac Saturday January 17th, 2009 3:01:02 AM "Well met Belkior. Mac, and Horace.", he says, pointing first to himself and then to his companion. "By... please do.", and he awaits Belkior's diagnosis.
Brahmah, Captain of the Chosen of Domi (AC 25, Hps 103/126) Saturday January 17th, 2009 12:16:59 PM
"I believe Mac and I met briefly while I was Captain of the Chosen of Domi." He claspes forearms with Mac. "Nothing more I can say, as we had but a moment in time. Upon my Honor, Mac is a good taur."
He turns to Mac. "Where did you go after our parting friend? The Chosen tried to find you."
Mac Saturday January 17th, 2009 5:25:35 PM "Sorry Brahmah. I travelled, finding my way to a League outpost, and have been working with them in various places. In fact it is the League that sent us here." after a moments pause he adds, "It would be good to return at some point and finish what was started."
Brahmah, Captain of the Chosen of Domi (AC 25, Hps 103/126) Sunday January 18th, 2009 12:30:34 PM
"The Chosen dispanded." He says sadly. "And I too was sent here by way of the Church of Domi and the League. Our mission is the same... it seems."
Syr Ac 35/34 HP 142 Sunday January 18th, 2009 4:31:57 PM
Looking at the last newcomer, "Horace? Are you okay?" Assuming no one takes point, "Darn, I sure hope we find Xenia soon. Reverse the order. My eyes aren't the greatest but they are better than most, I'll take point and Brahmah, would you mind bring up the rear like before?"
Approaching the Control Room! (DM Cayzle) Monday January 19th, 2009 5:29:14 PM
The party is glad to be free of the water trap, and takes a moment to greet the two heros freed from the force cage.
Syr sees no sign that the two are infected with the undead plague. No black veins, especially.
Belkior confirms that.
Horace seems a little dazed, but begins to rouse himself.
The party presses on, into corridors that are widening. This is -- you guess -- closer to the heart of things. Wynn, blinking into the Realm of Shadows, sees a number of grey cords converging up ahead. They seem to enter a chamber with walls that extend into the Realm of Shadows. You figure it is just a turn or two before you.
Actions on final approach? Spells prepped? Strategy? Prior preparation? Here's your chance, mates! The coming fight WILL be tough!
Wynn [AC=26; HP=66/75] Blinking Monday January 19th, 2009 10:09:51 PM
"Syr, it looks like the cords are converging ahead. It may be the control room. I suggest we prepare. Remember, if I can cut teh cords to any of the undead, they will be stunned for a single round...that's when you big blokes should finish them off. Belkior, is there anything you can do to neutralize the clerics?"
Harley (AC 34; HPs 121 boosted/85 normal) d8+10=14 ; Monday January 19th, 2009 11:18:43 PM
"I have some 3 Align Weapon Scrolls that I can cast someone's weapons before we go in. I also have invisibility purge spell. Should I cast it or will people be invisible?"
If the group takes a moment or two to prep Harley casts the following spells in this order: Align Weapon spells on my companions Invisibility Purge if the group says yes Activate Pearl of Power for Aid and cast it (gain 14 HPs) Death Ward Align Weapon scroll Divine Favor (extended) Divine Power (extended) Righteous Might (extended)
When he is done he stows his rod and grabs a potion.
Otherwise he will hold off from casting if the group decides not to enter the control room.

Florin moves along with the others and has kept quiet for the moment as he wonders about this next fight. The group has beaten down some of it's powers already in the large battles earlier. Either way Florin readies his bow and pulls one of the smoke stick arrows that he had set up, "Syr, once we go in I'm going to try and land one of these arrows as close to any clerics as possible. I'll stay back for as long as possible as you want too."
(Sorry for the silence on my part people.)
Mac AC:24, HP:119/119 Tuesday January 20th, 2009 3:19:48 AM
Active effects: nothing of consequence
Packed and moving Horace along with the group, They've done us a favour, the least we can do is lend a hand. He watches the team ready for trouble. "You'll have your tactics, so I'll try to keep out of your way, but if I can lend a hand, and if you have enchantments that might help me help you, then I would be grateful.
Horace (Martyn) Tuesday January 20th, 2009 4:14:34 AM
Horace was quite stunned by the events of the last day. It had taken him quite a while to adjust to the changed circumstances that he had found himself in. Being trapped in the force cage had worn down his spirits to no end. His companion and guard Mac, seemed to hold up very well under the circumstances but Horace had found it very trying.
Things had looked up when they had been rescued by this new group, especially seeing as Mac seemed to know some of them. They were now advancing towards a room which seemed to hold a great deal of danger, something that Horace was looking forward to.
"I must apologise to you all for my silence but finding myself trapped in that cage of force brought back some rather unpleasent memories. However I've managed to get over my funk and now I offer my services for whatever challenges that we may now face!" stated an exuberant Horace, his broad nose and fierce moustache not able to conceal the smile that broke out on his face.
"What is our plan of attack? Charge into the blighters and lay about with our swords until we win the day?" inquires Horace of his fellow adventurers.
(OOC: Sorry about the delay in posting folks. I still haven't got my character sheet together but I'll have it ready by tommorrow or die trying! Well maybe not die but definitely feel bad. And it is a pleasure to meet you all.)
Syr Ac 35/34 HP 142 Tuesday January 20th, 2009 5:21:53 PM
After everyone finishes preparation, "Okay, everyone ready to go? How about we pair up initially? Mac and Belk, Brahmah and Florin, Wynn and Horace, and Harley with I. I'm open to anything else. Take down one foe at a time and then move on? The big guys have the reach so those pairs stay in the rear until we assess the situation?" He looks over at Harley and comments, "Looking at bit buff there, big guy. You and me up front since we seem to be the most defensive?"
(OOC: Welcome Martyn! Don't worry too much about the character sheet. You can always just make a kamikaze type attack to help the group out *grin*. At the very least the death would buy you time to work on another character sheet AND it's constructive if you take them down with you...)

The halfling cleric looks around at his companions, wondering who needs healing before the coming battle. Belkior starts healing himself before beginning on his companions.
After he has completed his healing, Belkior holds out two potions to his companions.
"I have a potion of Magic Fang +2 that, quite frankly, I will never use. Would you like to use it, Syr? I've also got a Blur potion that someone may be better able to use."
"I can also cast Disrupting Weapon on someone's weapon. Ideally it should go to someone who can hit quite often, even if they don't do a lot of damage. Any takers?

Final Prep and a Sketch! (DM Cayzle) Wednesday January 21st, 2009 5:04:57 PM
Wynn thinks about cutting undead cords. With his adamantine weapon, that seems like a plan. But in the first round of combat he plans to cast Haste.
Harley gets himself really well buffed up! But please keep in mind that you can't stack multiple temporary hit points on yourself with more than one Aid spell.
Florin is ready to lay down some covering smoke.
Mac braces himself and shepherds Horace. The fighter/mage rouses himself and rallies, as he prepares to face the challenge ahead.
[OOC to Horace ... Sheet looks good. Gotta get items picked. You have 66,000 gp to spend. I'll send you some feedback later tonight. But I need you to add your spell book. Start with all cantrips, 7 first level spells and 2 third level spells. You can add more if you pay for them, at 200 gp for a first level spell, and 400 for a second level spell. Also pick a familiar (100 gp cost) and a school of specialization, if you are a specialist wizard.]
Mac AC:24, HP:119/119 Wednesday January 21st, 2009 6:12:55 PM "Haste sounds useful. As for hitting often, it usually only happens if I'm getting swamped, but that's a good thing too." [OOC: 10' Reach + Whirlwind Attack = ::smile:: ] "I'll second Brahmah's call for a Bulls Strength or any augmentation really, but for defensive magic..." he fumbles about in his backpack for a few moments and pulls out a potion "...this is a Potion of Shield of Faith (+2), and it does me no good with my ring, so Brahmah, it's yours if you want it, or someone elses if you don't."
"Any chance we're about to meet up with the unliving?" he wonders aloud.
Florin Jadenth AC:27/29 vs Undead HP:125/134 Wednesday January 21st, 2009 11:57:27 PM

Florin is ready for the group to move out and keeps his bow ready. He knows that depending he will have to drop the bow and ready his bastard sword and shield but that shouldn't be to much of a problem. Just incase Florin speaks to Brahmah since he is paired with the big taur, "Hey Brahmah, after I fire this arrow with the smokestick I need you to cover me long enough to ready my sword and shield, ok?" Florin wishes he had another use of his bull's strength spell but unfortunetly he used it earlier and a paladin just isn't known for their use of spells.
Florin smiles at the comment from Mac and to the new taur, "I'm pretty sure you can bet on that one my new friend. We been running into a fair number of them as it is. By the way, you guys need to do your best not to get hit, these undead have a disease which they can spread. We are hopeing to kill the cause here and end the problem but just incase you know."
Florin realizes he hasn't introduced himself to the new people so speaks once more, "Ohh, My name is Florin Jadenth of house Jadenth in the Floating City. I'm a paladin in the service of Domi and undead hunter. It is nice to meet you."
Florin stands at 4'11" and is heavily muscled really for a elf. He wears a blueish tinted mithril breast plate and a matching shield that has the symbol of Domi on it. Along with this he wears backpack that usually has his bow and two quivers of arrows attached to it. On his head rests a vizor helmet but when it is off you can see his black hair that is tied back in a pony tail and his ice blue eyes. His weapon of choice also hangs at his side, a mithril bastardsword that has a silver hilt shaped like a dragon with a pair of ruby chips for eyes and the wings outstretched as the guard. When pulled the sword glows faintly and high Woldian runes spell "Glimmer" along the blade. Other then this is his slightly newer cloak of displacement that he wears.
Horace. HP 80/80 Thursday January 22nd, 2009 4:59:32 AM
Reaching over his shoulder for his heavy crossbow, Horace grins at Florin and nods in acknowledgement of the elfs introduction.
"A pleasure to meet you Florin! I think my companion Mac, who also seems to have known some of your group at some point in the past, had a rather valid question. What can we expect to be facing once we enter that room?" asked Horace as he completed loading his crossbow.
"I am all for splitting into pairs once we get inside the room. So who leads the way?"
Harley (AC 34; HPs 132 boosted/85 normal) Thursday January 22nd, 2009 1:19:04 PM

He looks at his partner, "Tripping? Okay." He whispers to Harley, Thinks these two new guys can contribute?" We really don't know what they are capable of when things get rough."
The elf begins to lead the group toward the area Wynn says the cords are coming from. recalling their watery room, he carefully steps down the corridor(spot 24).
Mac AC:24, HP:119/119 Thursday January 22nd, 2009 11:07:06 PM "Florin, Mac, well met. End the problem here - Got it!" "Wynn, what does cutting these cords involve?" Mac steps over towards Paragon Belkior. "I'm honoured to fight by your side and I'm listening for your words Belkior - you know your cohort's tactics better than I do. Guide me, keep me between you and trouble if you need, and if the opportunity presents itself, kindly keep me living."
Wynn [AC=26; HP=75/75] Friday January 23rd, 2009 7:53:15 AM
"I can see the cords when I am blinking. They connect the diseased undead to something or someone and they all seem to be leading here...The cords are very tough, hardened by teh disease I think, but my adamantine sword has no trouble severing them, and when I do so, the undead seem to be stunned for a round, making them vulnerable to everyone else."
Wynn explains what he knows to the newcomers, accepts the potion offered by Belkior, and begins preparing the haste spell.
Brahmah, Captain of the Chosen of Domi (AC 25, Hps 103/126) Friday January 23rd, 2009 1:49:56 PM
"Do you think an invisible person could go around and cut the cords with the sword?"
Wynn [AC=26; HP=75/75] Friday January 23rd, 2009 5:36:28 PM
"If a person were both invisible and blinking they could see the chords and possibly go undetected. The undead are only stunned for a moment by it, so thr timing has to be good between whoever cut's the cord, and whoever attacks the undead. I don't know if the invisibility spell will end by attacking the chord..."
Horace. HP 80/80 Friday January 23rd, 2009 8:38:57 PM
Horace gets a thoughtful expression on his face as he hears Wynns explanation of the grey chords.
"So does that mean we can count how many undead there are in the room if we count the number of chords leading into it? At the very least we can get a rough estimate. As Sergeant Tuskbane in the Village militia used to say 'Horace if you don't bloody know what you're going to be facing then don't bloody rush in like the idiot you are!'. A rather coarse man was Sergeant Tuskbane and his cursing could make a devil blush, but there was nothing the man didn't know about fighting," says Horace as he waits for the rest of the group to follow Syr and Harleys lead towards the room.
Mac AC:24, HP:119/119 Friday January 23rd, 2009 8:39:29 PM "Something in all that doesn't sound good Wynn. Surely that means there are diseased undead behind us, and whatever they are connected to, controlling them maybe, is ahead. I'm assuming you've already discussed this but why aren't we dealing with them first and protecting our flank?", asks the black taur drawing on his own experience with small group tactics.
