Peerimus reassures Tishe' that the Children of Chaos were only able to locate Oddholme thanks to the help of the Manfri. Tishe' is relieved hearing it was the Manfri who showed the way to the Children of Chaos... they are a remarkable folk so Oddholme should still be safe. Gilan agrees that the Manfri are a curious folk. One he could learn a lot from. Peerimus then enjoys the talk to a fellow druid -- even in Bear shape... Gilan invites Peerimus to the sanctity of his grove where he has been trying to grow things... enjoying his work in the garden Gilan wonders if life as a farmer or a rancher wouldn't be more suited for him... Peerimus joins Gilan only a few moments later admiring the work in his guarden. He speaks of the trees that grow in the lands just outside of Heranmar and hopes he will see the Bloodpack over there some day. Gilan too tells a lot about the Sargrass... his own past... the dangers of the Plains...

Grymash is proud to have been able to slay such a formidable foe and before anyone had the chance to burn the undead remains he chopped the Deathbringer's head and kept it as a trophy... Back in Oddholme he works on his skull... a messy job but never the less the results are quite satisfying for the Half-Orc. Having sawed the top of the cranium he thinks about what to do next... (ooc me too :-) )

Xenia too has one last thing of unfinished business before the bonfire can start... she asks one of the dwarves to cut open the chest of one of the Undead in search for Heartseeds that were previously used by Ga'al... it's a messy job but someone's got to do it...
Xenia pokes around looking for the Heartseed but she can't find any! So it looks like Ga'al has found a way to dominate without heartseeds!! Does this mean he has grown stronger even after loosing the power of the Heartseeds?!? Once Xenia is ready, Angus places three delayed fireballs and leaves the portal chamber...

Back in Oddholme Xenia takes time to nose about the place. The huge Grassdome is nicely crafted... it's protective spells on the outside (Oddholme can not be seen from a distance) are of the highest power known and it's uncertain who has placed them... It's ancient lore that's for sure... you can almost feel it radiate through Oddholme... the same power you could also feel around the portals.

During her search she takes Tishe' apart and questions the mage about the three Drow that are in the company of the Bloodpack... Tishe' listens intently to Xenia's words and reassures her that she would trust Murdock, Vayine and Ayreon with her life... even though it is odd how they all got here in the first place they are cut out of the right wood and have proven their worth for the Pack. Xenia explains more about her past and her suspicions about Drow... Happy to have found peace and warmth so far from home she hugs Tishe' in gratitude.

Rash Trinka cures and restores any of the remaining wounds. Tishe' and Trellus both regain their lost levels. Tishe' is glad to get the negative effect of the Yuan-Ti out of her. Hearing about the Deathbringer's dispel magic Rash pauses and ponders how to use her protection spells on herself and her friends... After having restored the damage done to Trellus Rash questions him about his God... Jurgen smirks wondering why Rash never asked him about Domi but instead thinks Trellus can answer his questions... Trellus smiles as Rash and Jurgen get into their conversations and his happy to chime in about his Deity. He talks long and wise...

Angus too admires the Oddholme structure.

Vayine uses the little amount of time they have been given by the Powers to rest and talk to his brother about what happened. He's quite confident the Bloodpack planners will wake him when they are ready to leave.

Olaf ponders the final words of the Powers... what two quests are they talking about?!?... feeling he can't solve this mystery on his own he takes some mead and takes it along to Yanosh's quarters hoping the taciturn dwarf will be up for some chatting. Durgan sees Olaf walking away with mead and hopes Kazak will join him on this 'thinking session'... throwing a party it seems though... "Thinking and drinking" Kazak laughs and joins his brother and Olaf to throw a party in Yanosh's quarters!

Dispite the merry making all around Firn'gaer keeps pondering about the things the powers said... what's this Well of Souls?!? Asking to no one in particular he hopes for an answer...

Shocked by what he saw earlier at the Central Portal, Jurgen searches a quite place to meditate. One thing's for sure... as long as there is life in the Paladin the Child will be born! Gilan invites him to his little grove where he is certain the Paladin will find the peace and quiet he is looking for...

Flea is tired from battle... the little Gnome remains quite and looks for a nice place to curl up and nap as the rest rattles on about Godlings and other nonsense... it doesn't take her long to snore...

Hearing a knock on his door Yanosh sighs as he sees Olaf, Kazak and Durgen in front of his door... Bringing them all to a more suited chamber for thinking and drinking they first start drinking... thinking the Thinking can be done later...

That evening when everyone is sitting around the dinner table Tishe' begins speaking of the Powers that asked them all to defeat 'Red'... the new name for Ga'al given by Xenia... She's can't understand how they are to find the Well of Souls if they don't even know where this Well of Souls is located?!? Don't they??!!?? Perhaps they should know by now... maybe if they search their past and consider when and where the Bloodpack swore their oath... perhaps then they will know where to look...

A new dawn breaks... slowly the Chaospack and Bloodpack wake... some tend to have a headache from euhm... thinking last night... others feel quite happy with the new friends they have found...

But deep down they all know something will have to be done today... questions is when and where do they leave and ... where do they go?!?

For the Childred of Chaos the Path should be clear... they know... or at least they should...

And even the Bloodpack should know where to look for the Well of Souls...

Make the Powers proud my friends and tell us where you will go...

Funny, that them deaders didn't have no heartseeds. Not the funny haha sorta funny either. Gotta be them silver cords, then. Sump'in coming outta the Woldsblood. That's how Red's controlling them.

Such thoughts does Xenia wake to in the gray hours of the dawn over this new and unusual Sargrass plains on this new and unusual Continent far to the South of all that she has known to recent date. She raises her slim dark arms into the air, yawning, stretchy cat, and then pads down to the floor of the big grass dome dressed in nothing but a big red short-sleeve shirt across the front of which is printed in bold black letters the legend, "What do you mean, the dragon wakes up?"

Outside the big door to the grass dome her elf-born eyes watch the transition of the heavens move from dark to light. Her dark skin soaks in the heat, still great, even after a night without the heat of the sun. How would it be to bask here in skimpy clothes, like she was used to doing on the docks back in Floating City? Would the sun be too fierce for such a thing? Right now, at this moment, the heat is just the thing to wake up to. On slim dark naked legs she comes up onto her toes and turns slowly, arms extended, in the warm air. Nice.

Wonder if they have kaffe here?

Barefooted she leaves the door, padding back toward the rooms.

Wonder if there's any way of taking advantage of the way Red is using the Woldsblood on them deaders? Gotta 'member to talk to the priesty guys 'bout this. Or maybe Fernie might know sump'in 'bout Woldsblood. Wizardy guys are always studying 'bout all sorts of stuff. Gotta 'member to ask.

Sitting and eating, Trellus half listens to Tishe ask question after question. Its what she does after all. Besides, how is anyone here supposed to know where this Well of Souls is? You'd be talking about one of the most heavily guarded secrets...on....the............................oh, light

The cleric stops chewing. The color slowly drains from his face, and he stares, unseeing, at the far wall for several moments.

Softly, almost sadly, he utters his realization.

"It's under Rattledam."

Questions buzz about her mind, keeping her awake, but thanks to the Ion Stone spinning around her head, Tishe' only needs a couple hours of rest a night. Plenty of time for weaving with her hands while her mind is free to form its own patterns.

When morning dawns, Tishe' has two new wall hangings for her rooms. One is the snowy mountain of Celisiun, the Power that brought two of her packmates to the Sargrass Plains (Craft Weave: 22). And the other is a Broken Spiral that has five women in various stages of life surrounding it in a mysterious haze (Craft Weave: 22). And she's no closer to any of her answers either.

Going to visit Gilan, she greets the other druid of the Chaospack and then greets the sun of Mother and Father to renew her energy, her spells, and her committment to the Sargrass. "The land, My life."

Afterwards, she breaks her fast with the combined group, nibbling on some wheatGrass bread. But the bread is soon forgotten as Trellus brings the final pieces together. Jumping up, Tishe's eyes light up. "Rattledam! With the Golden Door under the City! The big secret the Monks have been hiding for, for, forever!"

And as fast as she got excited, she frowns and begins to plan. "They will have prepared defenses against us going back into Rattledam since our last attempt and the death of Malafret." And "Flea, I guess you'll be able to finally find out what's behind that door." And "I wonder if the Manfri or the Fempack would help us out?"

Waking in the morning, Vayine has a small breakfast with his brother in thier rooms before donning his wargear and arriving at the common area. He sits quietly, listening to the Bloodpackers and looking at this Chaospack to see thier reactions about the current situation. (Sense Motive: 6) All is obscure, and the drow just can't drop the feeling that with both packs leaving quickly, then OddHolme will be all but unprotected...

OOC: Was Angus able to purchase the items from the Catacombs as several of the group requested, without having to actually go in an effort to save time? All items were relativly minor.

After Trellus speaks, Angus stands up "Now it looks like we know where the two groups must head. Let's pack up and get after it."

Standing up Yanosh looks at the rest rinking in his quarters, "Come we are late for dinner with the pack." With that Yanosh leaves and leads the way to where dinner is being held.

Once there Yanosh settles in and starts eating. When the talk turns to where the well of souls is he speaks up, "I think I know where that Well may be. We were just there. We fought Horvis over it. It could be the place he was digging up where the WoldsBlood met the Wold. But I could be wrong." The Cleric the sits don and returns to eating the fare he has slowly become accustomed to.

Gilan was up early this morning as he has been every morning before this one. As he passes out of his grove he does not slow his pace till he reaches the entrance leading outside. He is surprised to find that someone is already up and moving. "Good morning...Xenia was it?" The introductions had been quick and he was not sure if he had gotten everyones' name.

With the sun starting to top the horizon he smiles as he steps further out, though not breaking through the shielding of the dome. His voice is soon raised in respectful worship to Mother and Father, a deep baratone that actually sounds rather nice. His song does not change as he turns his head to glance at Tishe' coming out to join him and he nods. With his morning prayers soon over with he turns to regard Tishe' and smiles. "Good morning again sister." He follows her back inside to get himself washed and dressed.

Later at the table with the rest eating he listens to Trellus as he comes up with the final piece of the puzzle. "We took out oath there for the first time. The big golden doors have been a constant tease to most of us." His eyes wander to the others, a hint of something in his eyes that has not been seen for a long time....pain and fear. "I do not relish the idea of going back." So many things they have done and you can see a slight tremble to his hands as he sets his fork down, the last of his breakfast uneaten. He slowly gets up and walks away, dealing with personal demons, to find himself once again outside though not past the shielding of the dome.

Peerimus joins up with Gilan and Tishe in the morning, perhaps an hour after the sunrise. The Dire bear sits and listens to Gilan for a time and then prepares his spells for the day.
Breakfast, Peerimus eats, a great deal, even for a bear. "If you suspect you know where the well is, we are going back to the Portal area and then through. May Mother Protect you and Father fight for you."

Xenia comes down from toilet and changing kitted up for war. Clothes of the darkest black she wears, with her flame red hair bound up in a head scarf in an equal shade of jet.

"Momma Rash, do you know anything 'bout Woldsblood? Jurgen? From what I know, it's Gargul in his Land of Shadows what likes the Woldsblood so much. I can see it when I'm blinking. I can see the silver cords what ties the deaders together. Fernie? I mean, wizards know a lot of stuff, right? If we can turn this Woldsblood against 'em, or some how jam it up, maybe we can foozle 'em without fighting. Well, without much fighting."

An image returns, playing across landscape within the rogue's mind, an image of the Chaos Guys in the Tower of the Star Mages', the passion with which they charged into battle. "Well, yeah. Maybe fighting. Maybe a lotta fighting."

"So today we go into the portal, right? I mean, the Bloodpack, they were holding the portal for us, right? Wonder if them deaders stayed burnt down or not?"

Trace takes the cue from the others and begins to get ready for war. He goes about checking his bracers and armor and then moves to Rhino and secures his armor as well. Trace will then divide up an even amount of arrows in each efficent quiver for what ever comes at them. Trace then mounts Rhino and waves to the Bloodpack and says goodbye and wishes them godspeed on their journey and best of luck on their completion. He will then move to the front with Rhino to take lead unless instructed otherwise. Trace confesses to the others that he is somewhat anxious to see what Rhino is able to do in battle.

(ooc: if a metal cap is placed on Rhino's horn, can it be endowed with powers the same as a weapon?)

Durgan tucks into breakfast with wild abandon, trying to put even a hungry dire bear to shame, and washes it down with more ale. Drinking some ale is his way of getting ready for battle. "Looks like were done with the drinkin and thinkin," he mumbles. As he starts in on another plate of food he says happily, "but in a few hours well be workin on stinkin'! heh heh heh."

Durgan shakes his head as Xenia muses not having to fight too much. "We always start out with those kinds of intentions girl, but if it's a fight they want, ye know we are more than happy to give them one eh brother?"

Pale blue eyes watch as comrades prepare for a battle ahead. Olaf surmises, mostly to himself, "Thinkin' was a bad idea. Rattledam. Didn't like that place much at all." He gathers new catacombs purchases, hoping to be ready for the call when it comes. He also heads to visit Tishe' and Trellus, asking if there are any means of subterfuge that he could use to help them in Rattledam--be it disguise or staying invisible, or something else. Mostly he hopes to be useful.

The gnomish rogue spends a spare moment pondering the potential spots of the Well of Souls [bardic knowledge check 17], but when she comes down in the morning, no bright ideas have occurred to her. Tucking a half-finished letter in her pockets, she joins the new and old comrades for breakfast. When Trellus suggests that Rattledam is the place, she lets out an excited chuckle. "I knew I'd get to see what's behind that door." She then prepares for a trip out of Oddholme.

The Dire bear grunts in agreement to Durgan. "Given up on anything but master dwarf." Another large portion of something is swallowed. "We do though have a few things to keep in mind. Trace don't get in over your head with Rhino. You two have not battled together before." The druid cautions. The Dire bear gives his fellow spellcasters a quick glance. "Remember Ohzone is out there and surely waiting for us. Save some power for him. We should assume those spell caster undead will be in our way as well. Angus I want you to counter them, if there are two I will join you."

Peerimus glances around, "Anything specific from anyone?"

Responding to Peerimus, Rash says, "I am carrying multiple restoration spells assuming we are going to run into level draining problems when we join in battle. If you are drained, come see me and I will fix you up. I also plan on using my cures as weapons against the undead if possible but will husband my strength until we get into the portal. I think we will find our greatest challenges there, including the undead dragon."

Rash turns to Trellus and says, "I believe it is your and the Bloodpack's role to guard the portal. To hold the way for us to return. I am not sure if we need to bring this youngling power out with us or help in its birth but you need to guard the entrance. Ga'al seemed worried when we appeared, having some clue to our futures, but speaking as a mother who wants to return to her husband and child, please guard our return.

I think Ga'al will send his minions against you there to stop us. I doubt your fight will be easy but I am confident in the Bloodpack's honor and battle skill to win the day. I am honored to call you friends and comrades."

Rash stands up and says to all, "Are we ready? Destiny is calling and we can't shirk our tasks."

She will cast an endure elements every day since she doesn't like to sweat!

Slowly waking waking up in the morning ..... the dwarven warruior is glad they are inside the dome and not out in the blasting sun of od the sargrass ...... making his way to breakfast .... he quietly joins the others and digs into the meal with gusto ..... " gonna need the energy for whatever we gotta do .."

Listening to the various comments ......"Maybe da Heartseeds are for da living ?? .... not me area of expertise but it sounds reasonable " replies Kazak to Xenia

As Gilian and Tishe suddenly chatter about something important .... golden light ? rattledam ??? ... monks ?/.... can we hear more of dat stuff ??? .... sound slike things are tied together "... growls Kazak

Dropping his mug of water with a clang to the table ..splashing some ..... at the mention of Ozhone ..." Dat flying beastie ...yeah ....Peermus i remember dat big blue turkey ....." .... as he picks up his mug and takes a sip ..... " i's got me a trick or two for when i see him again .....dat you can count on ".... growls the dwarf ......looking about the table he explains his outburst ...... " last time we met da big blue dragon ..... chewed me up and spit me out with a mighty lightning bolt .... had to go talk to da god of da dead ... Gargul ..... we chatted abit ..... he talked about dem deaders are not really dead .... some silver cord attached to der souls or something ..... guess dats where dis he Ga'al comes in da picture ...."

Pausing amoment ... " guess events are in motion .... can't stop dat ... just do our best ......" raising his mug in toast ....." to our new friendship...... to victory ..... "

Taking a slurp ...the only words that echo thru Kazak's head are the last ones the Crones said at HookCity ......"Know that you will be opposed. Yet no change is ever done without price."

Jurgen listens to the Bloodpack, not at all understanding what they were talking about. But it seemed that they knew what they were doing. Which was good, since at least one of the groups needed to be prepared.

Every time Rash (or anyone else) says something about Ga'al, Jurgen makes a loud noise stopping them mid-word and glares sternly until they remember to call him Red. "I picked up an antimagic field of my own, so if we run into anything that needs it..." Jurgen gives the information to Peerimus and Trace so they could utilize it as they desired.

"As for Woldsblood, Xenia... I know almost nothing. If we had more time, we could head back to Star To-. Nevermind. We blew that up..." He shrugs, sorry that he can't help Xenia more. Otherwise, the paladin is quiet as he prepares for the likely grueling battles that were ahead. His armor and sword were ready, his spells on the tip of his tongue, and everything else that could have been managed ahead of time, was prepared. He was ready to go.

After her morning ritual Xenia joins the rest and ponders all that lays before them... she's puzzled by the fact that 'Red' no longer uses Heartseeds to dominate... perhaps he has found a way to use the Woldsblood for this? Could this abuse of Woldsblood be turned against him in any way?!? Barefooted she leaves her quarters her shirt reading "What do you mean, the dragon wakes up?"

Munching over breakfast Trellus's face turns pale realizing where all this will lead them to... What's the most heavily guarded secret on the Plains!?!

"It's under Rattledam" the blond Cleric utters his realization...

Hearing Trellus bringing the last pieces of the puzzle together Tishe's eyes light up!

"Rattledam! With the Golden Door under the city!!"

Vayine remains calm under all observations and has kept to the privacy of his quarters... he fears with both Pack's leaving Oddholme again the Dome will be unprotected. There's only this much his brother and Murdock can do...

Angus returned from Hook City with all things he and his friends need for the upcoming quest and once Trellus and Tishe' voiced their thoughts he stands up and speaks with confidence: "Now it looks like we know where the two groups must head... let's pack up and get after it..."
He gathers only a few things and observes the groups claiming he's already waiting...

Even though it seems the Bloodpack and the Chaospack have already chosen their next heading Yanosh comes up with another possibility... what about the place they fought Horvis earlier?!? Perhaps he was digging for this Well of Souls?!? Gilan though agrees with Trellus and Tishe' and also feels the Golden Door beneath Rattledam is the place to go... never the less he hates the idea of going back there... fighting his inner demons Gilan leaves the breakfast table and finds himself outside... the thought of going back brings pain and fear to his eyes...

As it seems the Bloodpack has chosen to go for the Golden Door beneath Rattledam Peerimus decides the Children of Chaos will then go through the portal today in order to fulfill their part of the quest. One thing remains unanswered though... how are these two quests chained to each other? Xenia, dressed this time, continues to think about the Woldsblood and how this can be used against Ga'a... Flea and Olaf also accept their faith to go back to Rattledam... though Olaf seems a bit more uneasy to go back there Flea's eyes sparkle thinking she will finally find what lays behind the Golden Door... she remembers the day when she first held out her small hands to the door and felt the ancient magic race through her... the forbidden door... at last! ... we'll see how she feels once she is in front of that door once again...

Rash and Peerimus already begin to prepare the Children of Chaos for their upcoming quest... level-draining problems... Ohzone... Ga'al's minions...
Rash hopes the Bloodpack will be here to protect the portal for their return and is worried Ga'al will send everything he has to destroy the Bloodpack and the portal...

Thinking everything is said Kazak slurps and eats the many things Murdock and Ayreon have prepared... the Golden Door... Heartseeds... Gargul... it all makes sense to the Dwarf master...

Angus is pleased he gets to use on of his new Endure Elements Scrolls as he casts one on himself.

"That will be much better. I never sweated so much in my life. I had to take a bath when I was in Hook City yesterday."

Angus will seek out Tishe "You mother smiled at the note. I did not press her for a return message as she seemed like a private person. Do you have anything else I can deliver to her? We are going up against impossible odds shortly." Angus smiles at the spellcaster.

Angus pulls out his silver flute to play a merry tune prior to the group moving off to attempt to rid the Wold of Evil.

Angus strikes a happy note and he is able to push his dread away.

Angus attempts to get people from both packs to join in.

Upon completion of the music, Angus will add "How about we meet back here after our trials and swap stories and see if we need to continue to fight evil together. At worst case we can have a party to celebrate our victories!"

With a little research, Trace can learn that there are some enhancements that he can get for Rhino. Barding, anything that fits on a neck slot, and Ebyron's Tears can all be used to enhance the large animals' fighting ability.

Of course there are always Permenancy spells as well...

Vayine smiles and thanks Angus for his thoughtfulness. "This is what I like about the sunny world", he says, "where you can accept a gift without counting on it being poisoned."

It takes the athletic drow some time before he comes to his own conclusions. "Yanosh, I think the older members of the Bloodpack have it right. If the Woldsblood is just beneath the surface everywhere in the Sargrass, Horvis could have started digging anywhere to get where he wanted. The Barons don't have this Well of Souls because we would have heard of them using the power. And then there is Rattledam. The town is so secret that there are no maps to the place, and it swarms with militant monks who erase the memory of anyone who leaves the town."

Done talking, he nods to Trellus and salutes with his sword.

The brown-haired woman shakes her head and looks directly into the eyes of the older, well-armored woman. "No Rash, the Bloodpack is needed elsewhere and it will take us many days to get to Rattledam undetected. Ma'ab said that we were done at the Portals and that the Bloodpack is needed at the Well of Souls to help the Child be born. We can't stay here." Then she thinks of a good idea. "What I CAN do is weave you Tokens so you can get through the Portals and back again."

The brown eyes lock on Jurgen at the Paladin's last words. "THE STAR MAGE TOWER IS DESTROyED?!!!" The mystic looks to be in a state of shock. "That is the only Star Mage outpost I knew about in the Southern Continent. How am I going to be continuing my Star Mage studies now?!"

It takes a little while and for the retelling of the CoCs latest adventure to get Tishe' to calm back down and return to thinking...

Finally, she begins looking at the problem on getting to the Golden Doors under Rattledam.

Tishe' searches her memory for Olaf. "I've spent very little time in Rattledam. My parents had thier memories wiped by the whitehanded monks and now live in Hook City", and here she beams at Angus the postman. "There is the secret cave which is sure to be trapped. There are the docks that will have powerful spells to reveal any magical illusion or disguise. And there is the GrassDome itself that we could cut through. I'm almost certain that we'll be discovered in every one of those routes and have to fight our way to the Golden Door."

She ponders a minute and then turns to Trellus, Gilan, Grymash, and Flea; the four who have called Rattledam home at some point in thier lives. "I would vote to go through the secret cave. While it may be the hardest way, it is also closest to the Golden Door and the least chance that innocents would be hurt by stray attacks."

Knowing that the older members of the 'Pack have more knowledge of the Sargrass. Yanosh follows where the rest of the 'pack goes. Trusting in their knowledge. "The land, My life." Raising his mug "To friends old and new." Then gulps and large drink. Returning to his quarters to gather his things Yanosh says a quick prayer and then he is off. With his Axe raised high Yanosh exclaims "Save the Sargrass!!! Save the Wold!!"

Like Gilan, Trellus is obviously none too happy about the prospect of going to Rattledam. He sits quietly, fighting some inner memory, as the others begin to suggest battle plans. With a sigh, the blond man visibly pulls himself into the discussion.

"The monks are gonna be all over that cave entrance," he remarks, agreeing with Olaf. "But, I think we got another way. First though, I think we should head for the manfri taudo."
Seeing some looks of confusion, he pauses to explain - "There's a manfri settlement near Rattledam. I got the feeling the manfri and the monks aren't on the same side on this pick, and they might know stuff nobody else does."

The cleric rises. "And I think I gotta spell to get us all there by tonight. I gotta go study." Still uncomforably distracted by his upcoming mission, the blond man makes his escape to his chamber.

[OOC - As they've made the trip before, I'm assuming Trellus has a rough idea of how far away Rattledam is. I'm assuming its within 200 miles?]

*sigh* Inwardly, Xenia sighs. Chopping and bashing. Crunch of bone and the hack of flesh. Screams of the wounded. Fire and ice.

Again.

Why's it always just when you find a place you like, some people you like, that you get jerked away? Is the Wold so far-frambled that everything's always fighting and killing fighting and killing? Or maybe ... maybe she's just one of the few. Maybe it's, like, fate. It's fate that folks are dragged into fighting and killing sorta situations. Always the same folks. Lucky her, being one of 'em.

"You bring 'em back safe, Tishe." Xenia hugs the human woman. "Make sure that child gets born. Don't know 'bout this, Rattle Damn place, but sounds like they got some big magic there."

"Here." Reaching up, the rogue pulls a lock of her fire red hair out from under her head scarf, and, with a sharp blade cuts it loose. "Lets trade. That way, if we need, we can maybe scry on each other or sump'in. Find each other if we need to. If we get done a'fore you do, we can find this Rattle Damn place and help you out."

One last thing before leaving with the Chaos Guys. Xenia moves on the Drow.

"You. Drow Guys. I ... You ... " The dark rogue's full lips press into a thin hard line. "I'm sorry I maybe gave you a start earlier on yesterday. I can see you take to your kin as well as I do. That being the case, I don't 'spect you'll likely be finding him any time soon. Probs never. But if you ever see a drow guy who looks like me, who looks like he might be my Da, you tell him I'm lookin' for him. You tell him he better be watchin' over his shoulder. You tell him that, huh?"

"Um ... thanks."

With those words, Xenia turns away, joining the Chaos Guys for their big step into the unknown. Through the portal and into ... stars know where.

Rash is saddened to see that the two groups will so quickly be split up after they just found each other. She stands and moves over to Trellus grabbing him by his shoulders and stands up on her tiptoes delivers a kiss only a woman of experience could deliver. She settles down and points a finger at him and says, "Mind your friends and keep them safe. The Children of Chaos will find the Bloodpack again and I expect to hear stories of greatness, bravery but most of all survival. Keep everyone alive! That is your duty as well as mine. We will visit you again some day and swap those stories, a expect a keg or two of ale and renew our friendship. May you god keep you safe."

She moves over to Peerimus and says, "Lets go. I hate long goodbyes."

Gilan returns back inside an hour later, going straight to his grove to go about getting his things settled. With a smile he takes off the paired silver rings that hang around his neck and stash them away in the knot of one of his trees. A quick prayer to Mother and Father to keep them safe and lead the one that they belong to to them, he moves away.

There is a new set to him as he gets the last of his gear gathered together, but it is hard to put your exact finger upon. Grymash might have a better idea with his closer relationship to Gargul...but it appears to him as if Gilan has made all his goodbyes.

As Gilan meets back up with the two groups he looks to his pack and gives a slight smile. "Who would be interested in potions to make your hide as tough as the bark of a tree? I also have a number of berries that will be of some use, they will only give you back a little life but you will not fear for hunger. I have potions that will make you as strong as a bull as well and ones that will allow you to walk on air." Glancing to the Chaospack he nods his head. "That offer goes to your group as well." His limited supplies will be of a great boon to both groups and he does not mind making use of them.

"That dragon's going to be back, and if what they've said is true about Red's ability to use bodies an unlimited time, we are going to have to play this one smart. That means no charging off. That means sticking close enough to support each other. I'll warn all of you now. Don't be fearful of large explosive spells I cast. I assure you that you will be perfectly fine. My magic will avoid you. So I will be liberal with their use if needs be, and I want all to know.

Firn'gaer waves off Gilan's offer. "I appreciate the offer, but I rely on my magic."

"Since I'd prefer not to go through the portal completely blind is there any Bloodpack member who might have some more information about what is on the otherside of the portal? Does anyone know more about Woldsblood? It is not a part of the world of arcane magic. I know almost nothing about it. Are there spells that can effect it?"

"Bohdi survived as far as I know. Only one of the mages were killed by touching a powerful artifact." He says to Yanosh.

Grymash has taken the cranium that he sawed from the skull and turned it upside down to resemble a bowl. From a small leather pouch, he takes a pinch of a brownish red ochre, a dry, fine, powdery clay. Me mixes it with a little spit and his own blood, Grymash creates a reddish wash that he uses to coat the interior of his "bowl". He turns his gaze back to the topless skull and says, "Noes worry ... Gry no done wit yooz!"

After the rust colored wash dries, Grymash attempts an Augury spell, using the bowl, to see if this bowl he has made will help scry into the doings of Ga'al and this child that will soon be born. He burns his sweet smelling incense to stir the spirits around him. After a minute or two of chanting a few words of power, Grymash retrieves another leather pouch from his pack and takes out a handful of rune-covered bones pieces. They look like odd-shaped dice with runes where numbers should be. Gry has used them many times before, but this time is a first with the new bowl. Grymash then asks his question. "Wills dis bowl bring betters scryin' on Ga'als an his treadles?" He hopes that the knowledge this head once carried, the connection it had with Ga'al, would help him and others to spy on their common foe, Ga'al. "Whut be da answer? Weal or Woe?"

(Augury spell. 74% chance for a meaningful answer. He is hoping others could employ more powerful scrying spells using his divining bowl as part of the focus. Hoping to least give a bonus to the result.)

Peerimus thanks Tishe for the offer of the tokkens so they can get back. The bear also grunts a small chuckle at the womans cry of the tower being destroyed. "We seem to have that effect." he offers with a nonchalant shrug.

Peermius waits if any can shead light to Firngaer's question. If not then it was time to go. The dire bear grunts to Rash and Jurgen, he had already said all of the farewells he planned to.

But I think being a Star Mage right now is very dangerous for those in the Hook... As for Bodhi. I believe most of the Mages were able to escape prior to the destruction, but there were a few casualities. Sorry I don't know anything more."

And after Xenia accepts Gilan's offer, Jurgen wanders towards the bear's way and whispers. "If we survive this, give me a bill for that."

Jurgen listens to the Bloodpack, further gleaning information about their situation and understanding a bit better their reason for avoiding Rattledam. The monks were enemies of the Bloodpack or had banished them. It skirted on issues the paladin didn't want to know about, so he decided not to ask. Instead, he offers his goodbye to the group.

"Friends, be resolute. We've been chosen for a reason. The Gods have called on us to act. Worse things face you than a return to Rattle Damn. And worse things will face you a year from now. In a few days, we will meet back. And, in the worse case scenario, it's better to be dead than Red..." He smiles widely, hoping that he didn't sound too condescending or ominous. Or any number of other things that it could sound like. "Oh. And good luck." And then he heads out with the Children to go do some impossible battle that was either fated or simply ordered.

Trace will nudge Rhino in a trot in a circle to warm up his muscle, to feel the battle rise up in the blood. As trace moves up and down with the motion of the trot from Rhino, his blood also begins to flow and heat up for the on coming battle. Trace barks out his battle orders to the others in hopes to get their blood boiling as well, Rhino will be center front with the brothers on each side, Xenia will float, spy and take advantage where she can. Peerimus will back Kazak and Jurgen will back Durgan. Yorrick will fill in the middle next to Peerimus then Rash and Firn'gaer will move about as the middle pushes out in a upside down u shape to the enemy, assisting and attacking where they can. I will fly above unseen and rain down a terror that the undead have only thought they have seen.

Blood and Chaos will rest the unrest! and destroy the dead!

Two Quests... One into Rattle Damn... One into the 'Unknown' [DM StevenVdB]

Before any of the Packs leave Angus speaks to Tishe' about her mother. She did not press for any return note but if anything needs to be delivered prior to leaving Angus is happy to help. Then he strikes a happy note hoping both packs will chime in.

Smiling at Angus's wine Vayine reasons with Yanosh about the location of the Well of Souls. The older Bloodpack members are probably right... it must be beneath Rattledam...

Tishe' rejects Rash's request to guard the Portal while the Children of Chaos are at the other side... the Powers were clear... the Bloodpack has succeeded in protecting the Portal for the Children of Chaos and now their journey leads elsewhere... Tishe' does offer to create token which will help the Children of Chaos to return to Oddholme once they have succeeded in their quest.

But then the mage is shocked hearing the Star Mage Tower was destroyed! How is she to complete her studies now?!? Yanosh too is shocked as he hears this and questions about a Gnome with the name Bohdi... he was there! He was a friend of Yanosh!! To the best of his abilities Jurgen tries to reassure them... there will be a limited number of Star Mages still around for Tishe's educational purposes. But never the less he warns her that being a Star Mage in the Hood has become a dangerous thing. As for Bohdi... Jurgen thinks most of the Star Mages were able to escape prior to the Tower's destruction... While Jurgen hopes to reassure his new found friends Peerimus merely chuckles at Tishe's outburst as it seems the Chaospack didn't get their name for nothing... they tend to have this effect... Olaf and Flea wonder how to get in the 'secret' tunnel that will bring them to the Golden Door... there are plenty of ways to get into Rattledam all of which will be mostly guarded. A fight will probably be inevitable... question is... will Ga'al's minions be there?!? The thought of going back there isn't pleasant for anyone...

This always happens... you find a place you like... people you like and you get jerked away...

Xenia hugs Tishe' asking her to make sure the Child gets born... she cuts loose a lock of her fire red hair and hopes to trade with Tishe'. Then she walks over to Vayine, Ayreon and Murdock... 4 drow in a land that used to know no Drow at all... they share a past... a bond... that no one completely understands and no one ever will... no words need to be said but there at that moment the 4 Drow feel more at home than ever... they feel like Family...

Rash too is saddened to see the two groups splitting up so soon... she grabs Trellus by the shoulder and kisses him like only a woman of experience can...

"Keep your friends safe... Keep everyone alive! That's your duty as well as mine..."

Gilan offers a goodbye gift and presents a number of potions he has prepared what is greatly appreciated by Xenia. Firn'gaer politely declines the offer relying mostly on his own magic...

While the others have been talking, planning and saying goodbye Grymash continued working on his Deathbringer skull hoping it will help him scrying into the doings of Ga'al and this child that soon will be born... throwing the bone dice in the Head of the Deathbringer he checks if his answers will be weal of woe...

Grymash vaguely sees images representing a Golden Door with guards behind and in front of it... not the same... these look like ordinary warriors... another Pack in service of Ga'al... Gry can see Ga'al holding something... something with silver threads coming out of it... but he's in another place where the Children of Chaos will go... a pool of Woldsblood closeby... the Well of Souls... inside something... the Child...

With a flash Grymash is brought back to reality! He saw Gargul!! His Lord awaits him! Was he lovingly smiling at the Half-Orc?!? Was he proud of his loyal servant?!?

Again Gry looks at the dice... Weal...

As far as the Woldsblood is concerned Yanosh warns everyone not to touch the strange and dangerous substance... it is not for the living... it is for the dead...

For the Children of Chaos it seems the path leads to the Central Portal and from there into the unknown... (although you and the Bloodpack should already know where this will lead you to... at least the name...) Every member of the Chaospack has prepared on his or her own way. For Trace this meant preparing Rhino...

For the Bloodpack the path seems to lead towards Rattledam and it's biggest secret... the Golden Door... perhaps the Manfri know more about it or perhaps they can help Trellus thinks... or perhaps the Bloodpack will have to prove themselves this time... Gry like no others knows the Pack will soon see Gargul... alive or death but they will be in front of his master... the thought of this makes him even more ready!

Angus smiles at Tishe's offer "Do we each need a token or is one good for the group? I turst it will not take long to create. The Wold stopping Evil awaits us all."

Angus will wait for the token and then add "I look forward to meeting the Bloodpack again after all of this unpleasentness is complete."

Angus gives a slight bow to Yanosh "I look forward to cracking your kegs upon all of our safe return. We will see you soon."

Angus tilts his head to Gilan "Very generous of you to offer the potions, but I will be fine. Keep safe your pack." Angus adds.

Angus is more than ready for action and is anxious to get started. "Let's get this show on the road." Angus stows his silver flute in his haversack and places his floppy leather traveling hat on his head. "Shall we Chaospack?" Angus says smiling.

Xenia's eyes follow Trace, the Elf Guy, as he and his rhino thunder around the group in a big noisy circle. Guy's got heart. Definitely got a lot of that.

"One more questio ... One more question, a'fore we go off to our separate missions," she calls above the din. "You Packies ever been through one of them portals a'fore? Can you tell us what it's like? When you go through, is there a portal on the other side that you can just come right back through? Or are you stuck there till you can find another way back?"

"The reason I ASK ... "
The rogue sends a glare after the thundering rhino. Her blood is beginning to boil. "The reason I ask, is 'cause it would help to know whether I can step through for a sneaky peak and make sure it's safe just on the other side. If it's not, we'll need to spell up a'fore we do the portal, and come out blazing like fire, if you KNOW WHAT I MEAN?"

Tishe' eagerly exchanges locks of hair with Xenia. "Scrying will be much easier this way", she says happily.

The plain-faced woman thanks Firn'gaer and Jurgen and Angus for thier news about the Star Mages Guild. "I'll be sure not to wear my membership token openly the next time I visit the city. And I thank you for the offer to apprentice and study, but I was more worried about the wonderful library the Star Mages Guild has. I suppose I'm going to be looking Firn'gaer up every so often in order to hop a teleport ride to Plateau City and thier amazing library." She looks at the arcane gnome. "Guarantee I'll be weaving my way to Heranmar and finding your pattern, sweetie."

Tishe' explains the Tokens. "We need one for each person, and it gets attuned to this portal. Not too long at all, and you'll be able to transport from OddHolme to the portals between Portals, and there to the Center of the Plains." She looks at her new friend, Xenia. "We weaved our defensive spells before going through the portal. There's no telling what sort of treadles may be waiting on the other side, especially since Ga... Red knows you were there."

Within an hour, Tishe' has made Tokens for each of the Chaospack and attuned it to the Stone alter portal in Oddholme. She waits for her new friends to touch the stone and be transported to the portal chambers and then to... well... where they need to go to defeat Red.

Once the Chaospack is gone she grabs her adventuring things and meets the Bloodpack at the entrance to Oddholme. "Let's Go.", she states.

Rash's goodbye kiss is totally unexpected, and therefore the blond man doesn't have time to react to the surprising, but not all that unpleasant farewell.

"Uh, yeah," he finally (and lamely) responds.

The remark about the Chaospack coming into Rattledam after the Bloodpack causes the man's head to snap around to the speaker.
"Dudes, my family lives there. So none of this 'goin in with lightning blazin' picks like you did before. Most of them folks are just regular dudes, trying to make a living, you know?"

As the other group leaves, Trellus turns back to his own pack.
"I can weave a spell that'll make me and four others move really fast, like flying," he says. I can do it twice, so I can take four with me to the taudo, come back, grab the other three, and do it again. Should have us all outside Rattledam by dark. Then we can have a chat with the manfri, come up with a plan, restudy spells, and hit it in the morning."

Gilan had been more than happy to turn over a couple of potions to Xenia, giving her the more powerful version. With a smile to Jurgen he shrugs. "I make them myself so it is really not that bad. I have had little reason to use them till now." To be honest he has no intentions of sending a bill and if the Chaospack makes it back to feast with them sometime...that will be pay enough. As the Chaospack leaves through the portal he shakes his head, having had other things to think upon besides the return to Rattledam.

Glancing to Trellus he shrugs his shoulders to loosen himself up. "As long as we end up together before we assault the door, I don't mind. Wish I would have known, I would have prepared a couple different spells." Glancing to Trellus he shakes his head on last time and then hands over a tree token to him. "See if the Manfri would be willing to plant and tend to this tree in their home. I would love to be able to visit them sometimes." He is not sure if the Manfri will agree but he would love to be able to study with them or ask them questions upon the Sargrass...a small wish.

Someone suggests getting two kegs of ale to celebrate the expected victory when this is over. Durgan suggests he will bring some extra 'just in case'.

"Or I could be out there with lots of summoning spells, and then when the rest of you are in, Grymash sends me a Message with the Dragon Tear, and I Dim Door underground to your location." The small woman seems confident. "I bet I could cause quite a racket."

Having waved goodbye to the Children of Chaos the Bloodpack is now ready to face their part of this strange and complex quest... The road apparently leads to Rattledam... the city they were banished from. And then there's the Golden Door... Flea remembers the awesome magical power that raced through her the moment she tried to lay her hands on it...

Grymash shares his visions and though he may not have understood them all prefectly - visions never are clear are they - he seems to be pretty convinced of the guardians that wait for them... or for something else?!?

So...

Where does the road go my friends? How will you travel and where will you go? You know directions to Rattledam and it should take you about 2 days. How will you go and when will you walk and rest?

The small woman taps any who need it with her Wand of Endure Elements to keep the worst of the heat off her packmates.

Wart keeps cool by staying close to his human and inside his comfortable satchel.

"So, we weave to the Manfri Tuado near Rattledam and make final plans there?" she nods before anyone can comment. "Well, let's go!" When the walking begins, Tishe' makes sure she is near the end of the line, with only Vayine behind her as his usual rearguard.

Tishe and Vayine start walking, but Trellus stops them.
"Hold on, dudes," he says. "We're in a hurry, so lets get there fast, and see what the manfri can do to help. I'll take Gry, Gilan, Tishe, and Flea first, and then come back for rest of you."

With that, Trellus makes the four named packmates join hands, and casts a spell. All five figures turned somewhat wispy and whisk away at serious speed.
[Cast Wind Walk. Trellus and the others fly at 60 mph to the taudo.]

Arriving at the taudo within hours, Trellus drops his companions with a few hundred yards of the structure, and immediately heads back to Oldholme - trusting in the experience of the longer member of the pack with these manfri will avoid any trouble. Oh, and the status spell he'd cast earlier on Grymash, Flea, and Gilan should alert him if anything really sunbaked happens.

The cleric returns to Oldholme, and recasts the spell on Vayine, Olaf, and Yanosh. In no time, he's flown them to meet the others.

Assuming all that went without any problems, Trellus accompanies the group to the taudo.

Gilan accepts the spell, though he could have easily flown there on his own...it is not always that he can fly while still in his human form. It was a new feeing and he wanted to experience it at least once. Like many other things he finds that he enjoys the experience though he still would favor his alternate forms for flying.

As he waits with the few that were brought first, he watches for the Manfri to make an appearance. It would be no surprise to him to find out that they already knew they were showing up and be prepared for them.

I want to pass over a potion of Barkskin to each person as it will cut down on casting times and give everyone a little extra AC for any encounters we have. Anyone in need of a healing potion as well that could make use of one in combat, just in case a healer cannot get to you in time? Just want to get all this figured out so that I can make adjustments to my CS.]

Tishe' readies herself and assumes the Pack will move out to teh Manfri Taudo to see if there's anything they can do to help. Vayine agrees and with a worried eye he keeps looking back at Oddholme. Leaving the place undefended seems ludicrous but there's no other way.

Trellus though realises they have little time to loose. Spending two days travelling to the Taudo and then again days towards Rattledam seems like an awfull long time. On top of that, the Children of Chaos have left through the portal and will probably be taking th central portal later today... both quest had to be ended at the same moment... there's no way of telling what will happen once the Chaos Bell is rung...

He casts a spell that allows him to fly the Pack towards the Taudo is only a few hours. Flying back for the rest of them it takes him only a few hours. (2 days walking towards the Taudo at 30ft base speed is approximately 50 miles so it takes Trellus an hour to fly to the Taudo, an hour to get back for the rest and then another hour to the Taudo once again.)

Olaf and Yanosh show little emotion as they fly through the air at high speed... Flea on the other hand can't stop laughing! Her hair is blown back and tears roll down her face both from laughing and from the wind blowing in her face!! The taciturn Half-Orc tags along quietly and keeps mulling over the visions he saw.

By noon the Air Bloodpack has arrived and the Pack stands in front of the Taudo once again.
Do they remember how to ask permission to enter the Taudo?
How long would it take the Children of Chaos to fullfil their quest?

Flea thinksof the Golden Door but can't remember any locks or handles on the door... perhaps it opens in a different way?

"And here we are," Trellus chuckles as he arrives with Yanosh, Olaf, and Vayine. He winks at Tishe. "Much more waxed than walking, doncha think?"

Turning back to the business at hand, the blond man regards the rock outcropping that composes the taudo. He doesn't see any signs of life, but didn't really expect to.
"I can't remember if you've all met the manfri or not," he remarks to the more recent members of the pack. "But they're the natives of The Land, and have a connection to it like no one else. Light, they probably know why we're here. So, just be respectful, and we should be shady."

Trellus then leads the group toward the rocks, calling out "Sala' thide" as he approaches.

Vayine remembers the dark little people who he met when first meeting the Bloodpack. They defended the group during a... a Kalletek, he thinks it was called. "And Horvis was using them as slaves to get to the Woldsblood", he mentions. Yes, all this group has seen the true people of the Sargrass.

The warrior keeps quiet, allowing the others to do the talking.

Tishe' loves flying through the sky, watching the land pass so quickly. "I wonder if this is how the stars see the Wold?", she wonders.

Once at the Tuado, she allows Trellus to take the lead in order to avoid too many voices making the Manfri nervous. "I spent some weeks among them when I first met my companion Stripes", she tells the others. To prove her good intentions, she puts away her staff and holds in her hands some food and a bladder of water. "Full hands means I can't grab weapons easily", she tells Olaf.

He takes his beaten shield, and stows it in his haversack, adding, "Well, if peace's our intent, no need fer this bit o' metal. Now, f'only I'd thought ta bring somethin' good fer the Manfri ta snack on." He digs through one of his small pouches, pulling out a pair of dice. "Hrm. Not really the eatin' type." Despairing of finding anything truly useful, he opts to hold his empty hands out, palms up, in a gesture of peace.

Grymash finds the trip to be quite stimulating. Though the cloud-like form makes it hard to decapitate a foe. Hard to intimidate as a cloud, "whooh... fear me, says the soft billowy cloud!!" Other than that, Grymash thought Trellus' magik to be very shady.

Once again the Bloodpack stands in front of the Taudo. Upon Trellus's words an old tired looking Manfri steps outside... Araxo... Speaker of his People, Defender of the 5 circles... you have seen him before but this time he seems troubled.

"So you have come..." he says holding out his hands in the Manfri way of greeting...

"Times are changing... Chaos is coming... The Plains are changing... the Wind has fortold this long ago... Now is the time for you all to fullfil your destiny."

With a sad look upon his face he stares at you all and it is obvious he knows a lot more but is not allowed to say it...

"Your path has been layed in front of you. It is yours to take... We can not come with you... A new Cycle is about to start... You must make haste... Go now..."

He turns around again to go back inside. This is pretty strange for most of the times the Manfri are very kind people always inviting you to stay... something far greater is happening and you are all part of it...
But then he turns around again...

"Find the Child... Protect it... nurture it and bring it to us... it will initiate the new beginning... the new Cycle...

One more thing..
" he adds "The Golden Door only opens to those that are not seeking to control what is hidden inside... Make haste"

Then without waiting for your replies he returns into the cool Taudo. No other Manfri have shown themselves...

Tishe' is so surprised that she nearly drops the bladder of water. Catching herself in time, the mystic puts away her items and pulls out Wart. Petting the horned toad as a way to help her think, she turns to her packmates.

"Well, piggies.", she says without heat. "It looks like time is running out and that we need to hit the underground fast."

"Here's an idea, though. I'm pretty good at weaving, I wonder if I can UNweave part of the dome? It is supposed to be a still-living part, and so a couple plant repelling spells should ease the task to make a hole for us to get through at a place they won't know about."

"OR", and here she pauses significantly, "we get in by the secret entrance that is not secret. The one where Malafret was killed and we killed the guards. The one where there is bound to be extra defenses, traps, and guards."

Trellus listens to the cryptic message and watches the manfri just leave.
Once the manfri is gone, the blond man lets out an irritated breath. He glances at Gilan.

"Well, they're consistent. I'll give 'em that."

The cleric starts walking, and waves the others on. "Let's weave dudes. We're done here."

While they walk, he turns his attention to the next steps.
"I think we got here faster than the manfri expected. So I'm wondering if our best bet isn't just to hit the cavern and get to the Door as fast as we can, before the monks get alerted. Tishe's distraction sounds good, but I don't know if that'll just get 'em all warped up and ready."

Thinking on the manfri's words more, the blond man lets out a little chuckle. He gives Flea a nudge, "I think that bit about not wanting whats on the other side was for you," he teases lightly.

Quietly the Dwarven Cleric turns and joins the rest as they prepare to leave. " The door only opens for those that do not seek to control what is on the other side. But what is on the other side? The munks gaurd it but from who? Or is it because they can not open it and fear those that can. Those that will come one day and open it. Yanosh speaks softly to himself.

Louder he speaks to Trellus, "I think the BloodPack is ment to open the Door. But it had to be the right time. That time I feel is now. The 'pack took the vow to protect the land not to control it. The ChaosPack may open it but they are from Chaos and are helping to set that right. I feel the Pack or one of us in the Pack is to open it." the Dwarf falls silent again. and stands ready for battle. ""Talki Fresal, dondit liki," he declares sternly.

Gilan listens with the attention of someone listening to an exciting tale told by one of his Elders, which this very well could be...if the circumstances were not so dire. As Araxo ends his little talks he seems at a loss for a few minutes but bows slightly to the Manfri. Then the little man is gone.

Turning to regard Trellus he simply smiles. "We have to have something consistant in our lives." Then he gets down to the business at hand and it seems to be a hard one. As they set off he mulls over some ideas in his own head and then shrugs. "I hate to say it...but the direct approach this time might be the best. If we are ahead of schedule and not expected so early, we will have an advantage already." He has a feeling that this is going to be a little trickier than they might expect and he is not sure what they are going to be facing.

Glancing to the rest he nods his head, having an idea of what might be behind the door. This was mainly due to things that had been told to them in the past that eluded to things. "I think the door might hide something we have seen at least once already." He does not go into further detail as he is hoping that he is wrong, but fearing that he is right.

Well the Manfri are a strange kind that's for sure. As the Araxo leaves the Bloodpack outside they are all perplexed at her strange behaviour... Tishe' almost drops a filled bladder of water (good thing that didn't happen)

And then the debate turns on the how to get into Rattledam question. Tishe' wonders if she could 'un-weave' part of the dome so they could all enter... Trellus feels Araxo was pretty clear that they should not waste any time and head straight towards the Golden Door... and the shortest route is definetely the tunnels... Otherwise the Bloodpack would have to sneak into the Dome, find the fountain, dive into it towards the tunnels and then follow the tunnels towards the Door...

Yanosh is certain that the Bloodpack is meant to open the Golden Door and even though it may seem difficult for Flea not to "want" was is hidden inside everyone is convinced this is what they are supposed to do... This is their quest... Their part of ... whatever it is that is happening...

It's two days walking towards Rattledam. By Bloodpack Airlines you would get there in about 4 hours or so... (taking one part of the group and flying back for the others)

So my friends... how will you travel and where will you go... and when do you want to get there...

As they move, the brown haired woman concentrates on the need of the land, the need of the baby Power. That is the only reason to go through the Golden Doors. That is the only reason to go through the Golden Doors.

Flea rubs her hands together and grins. She's about to get the opportunity to try her skills against the mysterious golden door in the cave under Rattledam. The magical door at the end of the cave decorated with the many handprints. The gnome can't decide if she is more excited about trying her skills against the challenge of the door's magic, or at satisfying some curiosity at what is behind it.

The warmth of the friendship of her pack-mates is a treasure the adventuress never expected to find. To some extent her happiness in this nomadic, plains lifestyle has overshadowed the rogue's deep rooted penchant for acquiring things. Still, you can't change the stripes on a tiger...

Flea turns to her friend Tishe', who seems as excited as she is at the prospect of their next adventure, and her grin widens. "I'm not afraid of this 'Red', or anything!" she says. "Let's go! Let's go find out about these souls. Let's go find out what is behind the Golden Door!"

Olaf checks his gear one more time, assured that nothing's been misplaced in the first flying trip, then focuses on the future. He confers briefly with Yanosh on tactics, and notes to himself how the taciturn dwarf appears prepared for anything in the service of Gargul.

Heading over to Tishe', he adds a comment on the possibility of weaving through the dome. "Sounds like a good idea to me. I'm thinkin' we might wanna be ready to go for an alternate entrance soon as you try somethin' like that--no tellin' what alarm bells 'r gonna ring. Ya don't happen to have some nifty teleportation magics or the like ta bring ya to us after you try it?"

Having said his peace, he stamps a few times on the ground, then spits to the side, watching the spittle fly and finding ill omen in its splatter. He readies himself for flight once more.

Gilan stretches as he waits to see what the others will decide. He is in agreement that they will most likely go through the "secret" cave. Swimming to the entrance through Rattledam itself would be the most foolish thing that he can think off. In fact, he is sure that some would sink easily enough once in the water...but could they hold their breathe long enough to survive.

"We cannot afford to fight our way through Rattledam and the monks are sure to be watching every entrance as well. We would need to swim to get to the door if we could sneak into town and that would mean two things. A bit of a hard spot to get there fully geared or leaving some stuff behind...at least for some of us." Glancing to Trellus he shakes his head. "I have to say that the easier of the two ways is probably our best bet, but also the most risky." Either way, he is ready to leave when the rest of the group is but this time he will be flying himself.

"I will fly myself and open up a space for someone else to travel in my place if we use Trellus's spell again." He is more than happy to use his ability to shapeshift to get to their destination. Though he hopes that his decision will be the right one in the big picture.

Trellus rubs the back of his neck while he considers the options. After a few moments, the blond man nods to himself.

"My spells are still active, so let's use those picks," he notes. "We'll zip straight into the first cavern of the cave. After that, it'll be up to you sneaky types to scout ahead and make sure the loom is empty."

Trellus again uses his Wind Walk to move the Bloodpack faster than the monks have any reason to suspect, and within a few hours, everyone is inside the cave entrance.

She demands that she is in the first group to get flown near Rattledam. As soon as Trellus lands her, the mystic creates a Tiny Hut to keep the group undetected while waiting for the rest of the group.

With little other option and not wanting to hold the pack back, he consents to allowing himself to be carried along once again. It might not be a bad idea anyways he muses as he might be needing all his powers for what is to come.

In the first shuttle or the second he does not care, as Trellus will have it all figured out in the end. He can already start to feel the anticipation of the coming fight, but there is also a lot of anxiety as he does not know what the beaters will bring against them.

Everyone agrees that going straight for the tunnel entrance is probably the most tricky but also the fastest way to reaching the Golden Door... it is certain to be well guarded though... but going through Ratteldam and diving towards the cave looks even more treacherous...

So Trellus once again takes the Bloodpack through the air and drops them of right near the cave entrance... all is quiet...

Tishe' tries to keep a good watch while she's in the Tiny Hut, but she keeps getting distracted by Grymash's breathing. (Listen: 15, Spot: 13) With a loud breath of her own, she gets herself together as Trellus brings the entire team together.

"I didn't think to set up any spy spells today", she says downheartedly, "and I can't turn myself into animals or invisible either. Best I can think of is to Dim Door me and two others to appear next to the underground pool and so hopefully we weave past any entrance traps or preparations. We could take someone by surprise, but we would also be vulnerable to getting cut off from the pack."

As an afterthought she continues. "I have a Dim Door scroll, too, so if it is too shuttlecocked in there, we could get out again..."

Olaf looks around, not seeing much (spot check of 9) but hearing the details of small game moving through the grass (listen 22).

Turning to Trellus, voice held low, Olaf replies, "Aye, I'm gettin' ready to sneak in there. Only got 'nough nondetection to cover one o' us, but plenty o' invisibility n' darkness as we need." With that, he pulls out a small vial of diamond powder, takes a pinch, and casts nondetection on himself. Taking out his lucky stone, he will cast darkness on it, then stow it in his pouch, just before he and the other scouts enter the cave.

He also asks Gilan for a barkskin spell, "Just in case."

The rogue has travelled this route before, and is familiar with the underground tunnel and cavern. In the past it had never been guarded. There hadn't even been evidence of other packs about whenthe Bloodpack had been there.

But, that was before they had been evicted...banished...as it were, after their last adventure and fateful return to Rattledam.

"I'll lead the way for those who haven't been here before," the gnome volunteers, adding, "I'd appreciate one or two companions, though!"

Flea confirms that she will return with news of what she finds and report to Trellus and the others. She confides to Tishe' that if the way appears blocked, she'd like to accompany the nature weaver when she weaves her magic transportation spell.

Flea will show Olaf, and any other sneaky type the best places to hide along the way, pointing out the safest and quietest route in order that the scouts can navigate the route as unobtrusively as possible.

Gilan glances to Trellus and nods his head in understanding. "I think I might have a couple of ways to sneak around as well...though they will be through an alternate form." Glancing to Flea he gives a smile and nods his head as he does not mind working along with her and any others.

With a glance to Olaf he hands over a potion to him and smiles. "This will be even better than actually casting a spell right now. That way you can get the effects at the most opportune moment." It also will leave him with backup spells in case they run into dispel magics.

Not expecting any guards at the entrance Trellus drops of the entire Bloodpack. Looking at Olaf, Dlea, Gilan and Tishe' he asks them to take the lead and scout the tunnels for trouble... trouble is to be expected... question is where will it come from...

Tishe' nods but is dissapointed for not prepareing any sneaking spells today... She asks if it wouldn't be best to use a Dim Door spell and appear right next to the underground pool...

Vayine doesn't meddle in discussions... his part will come once they get down to business with Ga'als army once again... his silver blade can still taste the foul taste of Undead rotting meat but never the less it is ready and willing...

Olaf looks around but sees no immediate danger... voice held low he informs Trellus of the spells he has and casts nondetection on himself... Wondering if Gilan could cast a Barkskin on him he instead receives a potion from the Shifter that will work even better...

Yanosh awaits further instructions in Tishe's Tiny Hut... Grymash is trying to get back his gear into place as it seems to got messed up during flight with Air Trellus...

Gilan has other ways to sneak around but has no problem to let his fellow scouts to the work this time.

Flea knows the tunnels... she is the first to enter. Olaf prior to entering casts a darkness spell upon his lucky stone and enters the cave after the little Gnome (I'm assuming you have stowed the stone away or else you're all in darkness right now?!)

Quiet and stealthy the little Gnome enters the tunnels... her keen ears are finely attuned to pick up the slightest sound... all appears to be quiet at the moment... only Olaf's breathing right behind her and the shuffeling feet of her companions in the back...

Flea knows this tunnel will lead to the open space where they used to keep their gear. A place where all Rattledam Packs use to store everything as weapons were never allowed in the City. That's also the place where they fought some goons of Galafar last time and ... the place where Lady Malafret was killed...

It should not take long to get there...

Just before he shifts and takes off to follow above the scouts he downs two of his own potions, stowing the bottles for later reuse.

Gilan slips into his lizard form and scuttles up the wall to walk across the ceiling as he follows overhead of the scouts. His own movements are precise and measured as he does not want to cause any problems for them. His eyes keep a keen lookout for signs of trouble and his ears are attuned to the slightest sound, or at least he hopes they are.

And so the Bloodpack once again ventures forth into the caves beneath Rattledam...

Rather than wielding his blade Vayine chooses his crossbow this time... passing over his tattoos he waits before expending their use...

Tishe' is certain Trellus will cast some protective spells over Flea so he concentrates on Olaf and then while the scouts are gone she casts some more spell... (6 rounds worth of spells... going to search for Ceil's Infamous Cane...). In front of her the scouts are greatly disturbed by her spellcasting... the clear voice she has to use to cast spells carries far into the tunnels... who knows who might have heard all that!?!

Yanosh tries something else this time... having encountered lots and lots of Undead he takes his chance with a Hide from Undead potion. Like Vayine he too holds off using is tattoo's untill combat is closer...

Before Flea can take of Trellus casts his protective spells on the little Gnome... as the group moves out he also protects Grymash some more... strange though the Half-Orc still seems to have trouble with jetlag from flying over here...

Flea confidently leads the way. Gilan in lizard form walks over her head along the ceiling as they go deeper into the tunnels...

Glad to have received the protective spells from Tishe', Olaf adds another one of his own and then follows Flea down into the tunnels. Even though his hiding skills are a bit rusty I seems as though no one is paying attention atm...

Flea takes a chance, and casting quickly sends 4 lights resembling lanterns down the tunnel well ahead of her. She hopes to catch the folks up ahead by surprise, but also hopes they won't find the familiar images threatening.

"Show yourselves yourself!" she calls out in a high, light voice from the shadows behind the dancing lights, hoping they might reveal the somethings or someones up ahead. "I'm just a 'venturer coming home from off the plains," she adds. (Diplomacy=19)

The rogue tries to remember the name of Xarien (Bardic Knowledge=26) and thinks that if she ever heard of the lady before, she'd surely remember!

Making a signal for the group to keep quiet, and stay back, she adds, "your pack coming or going?"

Gilan freezes in place on the ceiling and squishes up as much as he can. For a short minute he wishes he was one of those lizards that can change coloration to match it's surroundings as well. As he waits for somekind of response from the call from Flea, he already lets his mind race to the differrent options open to him.

He has already prepared himself for a battle, the image of his worm form already playing around the edge of his mind...though he also ponders a couple of other forms as well. Silently he wishes that he had the ability to touch some other forms but knows that those powers will come with time.

Having cast all her spells (grumble grumble ;-) ) Tishe' follows close behind...

Once they hear the voice calling out to them Gilan freezes in place hiding... allready considering what battle form to take once they get down to business...

Grymash too stops in place to end the rattle of his armor trying to recognise the voice of whoomever is down that tunnel... he does not seem to recognise any beater's voice.. could be though that he hears this voice before by one of the younger kids when he and his friends used to linger around the pool...

Trellus confortly waits in Tishe's tiny hut...

Olaf blends into shadows and lets Flea take the lead...

"Show yourselves yourself!" Flea calls out... "I'm just a 'venturer coming home from off the Plains"

Trying to remember the name doesn't ring a bell in Flea's head... (if I'm correct Flea didn't grow up in Rattledam right?)

"Your Pack coming or going?" she then adds...

"Why then come right in!" the woman adds, "we are here by orders of Galafar watching the place."

Then Flea can tell she is talking to other people "Come friends no worries it's another Pack! Nothing to worry about. Who knows perhaps they can tell us something of the outside!"

Again those shuffeling noises most likely of a group of people crawling out of hiding places...

"Looks like we're never going to get some exitement around here" a grunting voice says...

The group at the water edge is not coming towards you... they have clearly invited you to come towards them...

Flea makes one last gesture to her 'mates, indicating they should stay back as she advances after her dancing lights.

"It's just me," she calls, (Bluff=7), "sorry 'bout all the noise!" Flea hopes the 'guards' accept her patent lie. It would help if her friends tried to hide or at least not make so much noise! she thinks.

Flea advances towards the water and the group guarding it, making sure they can see that she is resheathing her short sword. "You guys gave me quite a start!"

"Galafar, eh?" she continues, "who you watching for? This place didn't used to be guarded."

Flea's eyes roam the confines of the cave illuminated by her spell, trying to discern how many guard the place, and what might be their strengths...and weaknesses.

Gilan maintains his position on the ceiling and watches the proceedings with a little bit of interest. The only part of him that is moving is his eyes, as he has no reason to move otherwise...though he does prepare himself for anything that might happen.

Growing up in Rattledam, from the age of eight, he tries to place the woman and any others that have come out as well. He is looking for familiar faces or anyone that might know them, much like he figures Flea is doing as well. This was a big test and he doubted that Galafar would leave much to chance, unless he was turning into a fool.....which he doubted.

Olaf observes Flea's bluffing performance, and dismayed, he checks the position of his smooth talking shades. He touches a bare spot on his wrist, and slides forward, sneaking up behind Flea [hide 20, move silently 36].

He grins at the pack waiting for them--a wide, open smile--then taps Flea on the shoulder and says, softly, "Boo! Leaf," he says, subtly winking at Flea, "Ya gotta work on yer scoutin'. Galafret's sure ta fail us now--never can get one past 'im." Turning to the Pack in front of them, he says, "You must be the one's ta guard fer us. How typical, ta pad the last bit 'o the test. He probably fed a line 'bout somethin' er other comin' in and how ya have to prove yer worth er the like." He sighs, then adds, "Well, wadda ya say? Think you can help us out here? Know we helped out another Pack when we were gettin' started, a similar deal. Otherwise you'll never get a chance at the outside." [bluff 34 to get that fast talking past them]

While most of the Bloodpack stop moving and try to hide Flea works her diplomacy...

"It's just me"

As she steps into the clearing she can see 6 armed adventurers hanging around the place. The one they call Xarien stands close to the water. Flea can tell she's a spell casting type and probably the leader of this Pack.

"Just you... right... strange I do think I heard more noises back there..." (sense motive 15)

Then as Flea mentions Galafar and asks who they are watching out for the group looks at her as one...

"Where did you say you came from..." Xarien says clearly doubting Flea's words...

"BOOO!! Leaf!!"

Not just Flea jumps up but so do several of Galafar's guards as Olaf suddenly towers over the little Gnome...

"You must be the one's ta guard fer us" Olaf continues and adds several more things about Galafar...

"Bloodpack..." Xarien hisses... "Galafar told us you would defy your exile and try to sneak into the town anyhow!! Well then you will first need to get past us!!

To arms!"
she commands her Pack!

They all watch Flea and Olaf but don't act right away...

"Where's the rest of them..." one of them whispers to Xarien...

One of the guards suddenly grows large wielding a Bastard Sword... another one draws his crossbow and ducks into hiding... Xarien touches herself making her armor shimmer briefly... and there's another spellcaster clearly casting something to summon something...

Tishe' hears Trellus and the muffled shouts from the cave. "Right!", she says. Putting her hands into her Pants-o-Plenty, Tishe' comes out with the perfect scroll. Touching Grymash and Vayine, Tishe' shouts "Dim Door!", and the three of them are instantly transported to 10 feet away from the pool of water inside the cave. "Go get em, packmates!", she urges with predatory anticipation.

In one second, Vayine is looking at the Sargrasss from inside a magical Hut, and then the next second he's inside the dim cave!

He discards his crossbow and in a fluid movement brings his bastard sword out and against Xarian (or the closest he can get to in a 5 foot step). "The Bloodpack are behind you, decieved one. Stop fighting the land and we may let you live."

Vayine keeps his shield weaving as his sword attacks weak spots in his opponents armor.

Nonplussed at Xavien's rebuff of his ploy, Olaf replies, "We're just weavin' to help Rattledam, same as you." And with that, he pulls out his sickle while heading to the caster [draw weapon as part of a move action] and trips the caster who's starting the summoning spell, hoping to disrupt it without causing harm. Gilan scuttles across the cave ceiling to get into a better position for any combat that he will be getting into, he also wants to get a feel for the land as well. Shaking his head he hates to say that this natural surrounding will favor a few of his spells, but he does not want to use them yet.

He places himself over top of the caster that is summoning and looks down. With a smile on his lizard face his form starts to ripple and reform into a customary sight to his pack but not for much of anyone else...and he is dropping from the ceiling, straight over top of the summoning mage. After landing, he will try to tumble his large bulk to his feet and be ready for the coming fight.

Upon hearing things unfolding near the water front Yanosh thinks its time to act... Waiting for the Bloodpack leader to give the sign some of his other friends spring to immediate action...

"Well, THAT worked" Trellus remarks with much sarcasm before he gives the sign for his friends to get down to business... Trellus himself exits the hut and moves closer.

Tishe' hears Trellus commands and taking the perfect scroll she touches Gry and Vayine and Dim Doors to 10ft away from the water! She ends up right behind the one called Xarien offering full rounds for Gry and Vayine!

Vayine immediately takes advantage of the situation makes a 5ft step forward and sneaks up behind Xarien!! Vayine's blade cuts with gruesome accuracy!! Blood literally gushes from the wounds he created bringing the spell caster down on her knees!! (42 Hp damage!)

Trying to convince Xarien that the Bloodpack is here to help Rattledam Olaf spots Gry and Vayine appearing behind the mage with Tishe'... Seeing one of the guards trying to summon some creatures he hops forward and attempts to trip the sumonner with his sickle... too bad he fails though.

Gry prepares to go barging into the place but just as he is about to enter the cave Tishe' touches him on the shoulder and Gry suddenly finds himself standing at the other side of the cave!! Too much for his half-orc brain the barbarian does utter his challenges to what ever guard feels keen to fight him...

Seeing Olaf fail to trip the sumonner he scuttles across the cave ceiling and tumbles right on top of him!

Xarien is brought down on her knees and is seriously injured... her men look at her in a state of fear...

"Get them or Galafar will get to us..." she utters in pain...

Her men are puzzled... the Bloodpack is much stronger and it is obvious that their leader will not survive another blow of that Drow warrior!!

Grymash's intimidating presence freezes some of her men (Saves vs Intimidation : G:19 / Gi: 16 / T:32 Nat 20). G and Gi cower in presence of Gry and don't dare to make a move. T however is not intimidated!! She moves forward and unarmed she lashes out at the brute Half-Orc!! In a Flurry of Blows she attempts to hit right through his armor... (hitting AC23, 12, 7 -- damage 8 -- absorbed by stoneskin)

Even though the monk was quite effective in her first blow, Trellus's stoneskin helps absorbing all damage... (Stephen- could you list the active spells? Stoneskin is one of them cast by Trellus)
Having saved his action last round Grymash lands a killing blow on the brave monk that almost knocks her teeth out!

E is knocked on the ground by Gilan jumping on top of him and has lost concentration... he fails his spell. The druid attempts to stand up drawing an AoO from Olaf and Gilan...

The enlarged human behind Gilan raises his impressive looking bastard sword and takes a full swing at Gilan (hitting AC21 and 5) but his blade not even scratches the scales Gilan now has...

L jumps a few feet off the ground as he suddenly sees Gilan lizard dropping right in front of him! Quickly getting a grip he points his fingers at the Lizard and two nasty scorching rays fly straight into Gilan! (hitting touch AC19 and 19 -- damage 13 and 12)

Then out of thin air a Halfling drops in front of Flea wielding a Flame Blade that was hidden underneath her cloak... (tumble31) Immediately she takes a double swing at Flea (Hitting MC76 -- Touch AC 19 and 8 -- damage 10)

Flea curses a gnomish vulgarity. She had hoped to bluff and parlay her way past this pack. Maybe say that they were come to replace them for a watch, or something. Oh, well...the pack sent by Galafar doesn't seem very strong, though.

Then some rude dude pulls a roguish pick, and drops outta' nowhere!

"Yo! Thanks 'nosh!" she calls to her dwarvish partner. Flea grabs up her holy short sword, and at close quarters stabs out at her opponent (A). (Hit AC 21, 6 pts dmg, +9 if evil, +15 sneak attack dmg. , success over Blinking with 57%).

"Drop your weapons, drop your weapons!" Flea cries out (Diplomacy=19). "We mean no harm to Rattledam!" The gnome hopes her voice can be heard over the din of combat.

The brown-haired woman blows a small pile of mica out of her hand and she casts Glitterdust to erupt behind the two (point at 2,3 / D,E). Immediately, "G", "Gi", and "T" are inside her spell, getting blinded and glitter all over themselves.

The sword attack does not cause Gilan any major problems as he is expecting them to come but the burning spell is another matter. He his head whips around to snap at the caster with a vengeance. Hearing the call for the other pack to drop their weapons he still does not relent, hoping that his own ferociety will aid in this pack deciding against their present course of actions.

"FOR GARGUL!!!"

With that Yanosh charges and slices at the one in front of Flea... too bad he misses and on top of that his trajectory offers the Halfling an AoO! She hits touch AC26 -- damage 5HP... Too bad Yanosh misses though...

Flea curses a gnomish vulgarity... she had hoped to bluff and parlay her way past this pack... Surprised by the rogue dropping in front of her she thanks Yanosh who came to her aid and draws her holy sword. Her blade only scratches the rogue's light armor...

Vayine doesn't change expression as he cuts down Xarien... without showing mercy he brings down his blade once again and slaughters the helpless woman on the ground... she goes down in a pool of blood...

Xarien's pack watches her sinking to the ground and hesitates...

Already looking for a new target Vayine ignores the massacre he caused and moves to engage the enlarged human... he can not cut through the warrior's armor though...

Already out of combat from being intimidated by the large half-orc Tishe' decides to hamper them some more by casting a glitterdust spell around them... (Will saves : G:24 / Gi:19 / T:24) All of them easily shrugs of the blinding effect... still G and Gi are too intimidated by Grymash's presence to fight...

Gilan isn't too worried about the enlarged human's blade but all the more of the wizards scorching rays... he's the one to deal with first! Gilan bites down and easily pulls the second wizard close!! Almost passing out in Gilan's grip the Wizard calls out for help!!

"DROP YOUR WEAPONS, DROP YOUR WEAPONS" Flea cries out
Olaf comes to aid her in this last effort to solve this through diplomacy (resulting in Diplomacy check 21). With Xarien already dying in a pool of blood Olaf too speaks to anyone who is willing to listen to reason...

Grymash grumbles a bit. He appreciates such grit and spirit in the woman, but killing her gave him no satisfaction. It was way too easy. He kneels down to the broken body of the monk and quickly sends a small spark of healing energy into her. (cast cure minor wounds, 1 hp, just enough to stabilize if she was merely dying and not already dead). He then feels for a pulse to see if her spirit has already started its journey. (Heal check 9, heal check again 11)

If she's dead, then Grymash curses her for being so weak ... and stupid for provoking him.

"Stop, Yanosh!" cries Flea stepping back from (A), but with her sword held out and pointed at the enemy pack's rogue. "These folks aren't bad, an' they're no match for us."

She catches Olaf's eye, and any other Bloodpack who might look at her as she ontinues her diplomatic efforts (Diplomacy=16) , the rogue contiues, "that beater Galafar set you up!" she tells the surviving guard-pack, adding, " 'specially if he told you we meant Rattledam folks any harm. We'd look like white hands, killing off a junior guard-pack, and it would make us look bad to folks. We've still got friends and family under the dome, even if they don't speak up for us out of fear of Galafar and his cronies."

...at least, that's the way it seems to Flea!

Flea won't tell these guys what their mission is. Rather, she directs her pack mates to the dropped weapons, "confiscate their arms, and round 'em up, an' someone fetch Trellus."

Flea doesn't want to delay in her quest for the golden door and what lays behind it to deal with captives, but none the less, this ill equiped pack didn't merit a trip to the Shadowlands.

Tishe' tries to stop Vayine by moving over to him and waving her hands.

"Galafar is sunbaked if he thinks these piggies would even slow us down." Her eyes turn shrewd. "So why put them here?" The last question is actually directed towards Lesor, who Tishe' thinks has the best chance of answering.

Arriving, the blonde cleric sees that his battle skills are not needed at all. And since Grymash is looking over the only otherpack member that is down, he's not needed there either.

Then he sees Tishe' trying to interrogate the opposing leader. "Light.", he sighs. With a hand ruffling his short cropped hair, the cleric of Domi moves over to Lesor.

"OK, dude" he begins not unkindly "this is the way we're gonna weave. You get your packmates to dump thier weapons in the pool, and then you go outside. There is a tan bubble there that will keep the sun off you and keep you safe until sunset. Then you get to come back in. Leave the bubble before the last hour of light and Anuk, Sterlin, and Aeryon all get to cut your threads. They're all Walker friends of ours, right?"

"But before you go, we need to talk. I and the Bloodpack want to help Rattledam. Have you seen any red-robed priest-strangers around? Any undead? People talking about getting reborn and living forever?"

The large remorahz drops the wizard on the ground letting him go and breathe freely again. He backs off slightly but it is still painfully obvious that he can reach the wizard should he be stupid. Cocking his head to the side he glances to the wizard. "We broke from the Council when they went too far. They wanted us to kill innocents and even leave another pack to their deaths or life as stone statues if necessary." His voice is a loud rumble coming from the mouth of a very large worm, still not that hard to understand.

His eyes survey the area and he starts to worry about what it is that Galafar has set them up for. "What is Galafar's true plans...tell us what you know." There is no intimidation in his voice just worry for those that might be hurt in the process of whatever the man is planning.

One by one the Pack that was guarding this place throw down their weapons. Still not fast enough for Yanosh... he swings twice at the Halfling in front of him hitting her once...

Flea cries out to Yanosh to make him stop attacking. These men aren't bad and they were no match for the Bloodpack... Grymash tends to the woman he nearly killed while Olaf sees if he can still help Xarien...

Vayine still stands strong over the fallen woman's body and sees Olaf shake his head... the woman is dead and should be in Gargul's hands now... or will she be in Ga'al's hands...

Tishe' and Trellus interrogate Lesor - once he is released by Gilan of course...

"The High Priest has ordered us to guard this place while some of his best men were sent elsewhere... we don't know where they are though... we only recently formed this pack... we have heard of you and how you were exiled form Rattledam..."

The Bloodpack then thinks about their actual reason for being here and Tishe' brings the toppic back to the Golden Door...

"A Golden Door?" Lesor asks... "I have never heard of something like that... where is this door? What lies behind?!? Is that where you are going?!?"

Obviously these guys are unimportant and inexperienced... But then where did Galafar put his 'best' men??!!??

"Can't we come with you?" Lesor asks.

Time slowly goes by and this little sidekick consumed prescious minutes...

inexperienced, or spies for Galafar? Trellus can't decide which, but either one would mean the pack can't come with them. Trying to give this young pack the benefit of the doubt, Trellus assumes the first.

"We may be hard pressed in a while and will not be able to help you should your pack get in trouble. Run out to the 'bubble' I told you of, and you will be safe enough until sunset. Then get your threads back to your homes before you get into more warped patterns."

The blonde cleric will have Vayine and Gilan 'escort' the unarmed Youngpack to the tunnel entrance and make sure they leave.

Then he turns to Flea. "Lead the weave, Flea. Let's get to the Golden Door and keep the Child safe from everyone. And stay shuttlecocked. Galafar's 'best' may be there."

Trellus lets Flea and Olaf lead off, then Grymash, Yanosh, and himself, before Tishe', Gilan, and Vayine follow.

Gilan, still in his battle form, nods his head and buts the mage lightly. "You got to move and hide. Maybe if things do not go good for you, we can provide a better place to live." He glances to Trellus and nods his head as he does not want to make promises, but if this group was in that much trouble he felt it might be wise to help them out. There was also the fact that their pack was to blame, no matter who set it all up.

He will help to herd them back to the protection of the hidey area and remind them not to stay past a certain time before he moves to catch back up with his pack. Glancing to Vayine he gives a large wormie smile. "Want a ride back?" He will allow Vayine to use him as a mount for at least this bit of time, though he might be good at that later as well. It is something that might be good to think about in the future.

Stepping back from the Halfling the Dwarf has a stricken look on his face. He has broken his oath made when he left home, to always protect the weak and innoccent. These guards were lied to and sent here to die at their hands. Yanosh lowers his head and swears "Galafar will die for sending them here to their deaths."

Shouldering his Axe he draws his dagger and slices the braid from his Goatee. Yanosh drops the Braid into his pouch. Silently he reaches out and places a healing hand on the Halfing. "Go with Garguls Blessings little Friend." Healing for 6 hps.

Inexperienced of spies...

Trellus can't decide which but either one would mean they can't come with the Bloodpack... The blond cleric advises this young pack to go outside and hide... Grymash realizes these young adventurers were sent here to die by Galafar for who knows what reason! For all that matters he could even have sent them here so he can blame the Bloodpack for having slaughtered a young Pack!

Lesor whimpers at the Half-Orcs outburst and when the Remorhaz gives him a nudge also claiming they can no longer call Rattledam their home the young wizard frowns...

"Then where do we go?! You speak of a better place... all we know out there is cursed grass..." he asks out loud...

Grymash tends to the monk he attacked. Yanosh is furious for Galafar making him attack these young ignorent lads... He will die for this!

Knowing time is slowly passing by the Bloodpack now has no time to deal with this young Pack... they have to get outside and the Bloodpack has to get to the Golden Door before the Chaospack will ring the Chaos Bell!!

Herding the youngsters outside the Pack then follows Flea down the tunnels towards the Golden Door...

Gilan allows his large head to survey the room and he wonders what type of blood magic might have been used here. Hopefully though, it was just a battle though it does look like one that someone lost adn very badly.

With a last look to the group he moves slowly into the open area and towards the door. Most likely he will be joining a number of them that have already moved there as well. "Someone lost badly here...or something worse than that happened." He does not even want to think about that, so focuses on the task ahead of them...saving the Wold, saving Rattledam and saving those he cares about.

(Why such an incredibly high DC for that? Is the "squish squish" under our feet and its pungent aroma actively hiding from us like a rogue?)

Grymash scans the room carefully. Looking at the ceiling and the floor. Every little nook and cranny. Listening to all the sounds he can hear (listen 17). Every little heartbeat, every little breath. Trying to gain a sense of what's there and what isn't.

Yanosh falls into place as the Bloodpacks moves towards the Door... Flea remembers the way and allready she can feel the thrill of finally being able to see what is hidden behind... Tishe' and Vayine too follow close behind... Vigilent for danger...

Flea enters the room first and alerts the Bloodpack of all the blood on the ground... she also spots more splatters on the far walls... phew...

Trellus keeps his calm... he decides ot get to the door fast... He reminds everyone that they are here to help and they don't want to use anythign that's on the other side...

Olaf and Gilan position themselfs behind their leader.. Grymash scans the room more closely but can't see anything else but the blood...

The room looks empty... but does it feel empty?

Then as Flea and Trellus get closer to the door and Trellus speaks to remind them all not to want anything from behind the door and to be here to help...

Flea reaches out...

And then the hinges crack!!

A gush of wind and an eery sound...

The Golden Door opens!!!

Slowly the door opens outwards and it slowly reveals what is behind it...

Trellus and Flea are the first to see well armored guards behind!!!

"LET NO ONE ENTER!!!"

On the first row the Bloodpack can see two Dwarves armed with Throwing Axes... Each of them takes a 5ft step closer to the door and throws axes at Trellus and Flea as they are standing closest to the door!!

D1 attacks Flea and hits MC40; MC72 AC25; MC50 - damage 12
D2 attacks Trellus and hits AC 16, 19, 16

Two Archers at the back allready have their arrows nocked and make rapid shot attacks at the Bloodpack! Again Flea and Trellus are standing closest to the door and are the most favorable targets!! Their composite longbows crackle with energy as the arrows veer towards their targets...

R1 attacks Flea and hits MC97 AC31 ; MC9 ; MC86 AC19 ; MC7 - Damage 10 + 2 Shocking burst = total 12 damage

R2 attacks Trellus and hits AC39, 33, 27, 12 - damage 10 + 6 ; 12 + 4 ; 11 + 2 = total 43 damage

The rest of the ones inside haven't moved yet...

But then something strange!!!

Behind you a dark voice utters a few words...

"We thank you for opening the door for us... the door would not open for us... we WANT was is hidden inside!!! HAHAHAHA... you have served us well!! Ga'al will most certainly serve you a place among his finest army!!!"

By the time this hidden one has spoken behind you a number of Ga'alians appear!!

(OOC I had to position you all somewhere on the map so had to pick targets... I positioned you with dice rolls... hope you don't mind)

Yanosh suddenly sees a Mummy stumbeling towards him wielding a vicious looking greatsword!! The Mummie can't make a full attack but never the less he strikes Yanosh ones... (M1 attacks Yanosh and hits AC38 - damage 18)

A second mummie strumples towards Gilan Remorhaz and also lashes out with it's Greatsword... (M2 attacks Gilan and hits AC38 - damage 26)

A third mummie tries to reach Vayine but can't get there yet...

The ones who brought the mummie can't act this turn but they do look dangerous too...

Two more fighters appeared! One of them makes use of his full round... The fighter walks straight up to Grymash wielding a longsword... (F1 attacks Grymash and hits AC31 - damage 10 + 4 electricity damage (gry is covered with a stoneskin I believe and his armor is resisting to Electricity right? So in that case none of the damage actually hurt Gry...)

The Shadowdancer that was hiding among the walls throws a few sling bullets at the largest enemy on the field and that happens to be Gilan... (S1 attacks Gilan and hits AC24 and 29) but nothing strikes...


The Golden door has openend... this is what Ga'al's men have been waiting for. Inside there appear to be guardians of Rattledam... Both the Ga'alians as the Rattledam guards seem to dislike the Bloodpack...

And so the first deserted chamber becomes pretty crowded!!

But this is not everything...

Be it a coincidence of a brutal twist of fate but suddenly you can see the vision of the Chaospack battleling hordes of Ga'alians and Ga'al standing in the center!!!

BANG.... BANG....

THEY HAVE SUCCEEDED!!! The Children of Chaos have hit the Chaosbell!!!

First you can all feel a little tremmor... must be from the fight... but then it gets stronger... and it is accompanied by a rumbling sound... the Wold begins to quake... meaningless at the moment who knows where it will lead to!!

The Great Migration has begun!!!

Gilan grunts under the sudden impact of the greatsword upon his scaley body and it hurts more than the bullets smacking upon his scales. With a roar of rage he turns his attention to the mummy with the intent to crush him under his claws or teeth. His head snaps forward to grab at the mummy and latch onto it.

The sword that hits him lights with the heat from his own body, but as to what that effect has upon the weapon is unknown[DC 18 Fort or weapon is destroyed]. Though he can feel the changes in the land underneath him, he does not have time to ponder it further than to glance around.

ooc2: Did a quick add up on Tishe's magic items. Not including potions or scrolls or saved money, she's got 160,000gp worth of magic items!!! At 11th level, she's only supposed to have 66,000gp. So, after this adventure, I'm going to do some surgury to put her magic level back to normal.

"But there's a mummy right here!", calls Tishe' in exasperation as Vayine runs to the other attackers of the Bloodpack. "Piggie dumps!" she curses mildly as she sticks her hand in her pocket and pulls out a small tan bag while moving out of the way of immediate fire. (move to K,24)

Plucking a small furry ball from her bag and tosses it on the ground in front of Mummy#3, which grows into a Brown Bear (25%) (at L/M, 27/28). "Kill it!" commands the mystic looking for some breathing room, and the Bear lashes out in a full attack, missing everything. (10 foot reach)

"Light!" agonizes Trellus as the Bloodpack walks right into a three way battle and BOTH other sides get the drop on the pack. And he gets hit twice by arrows from the composite longbows! (AC 29 due to two magic vestments and barkskin)

"Galafar! Call off your pack! The Bloodpack wants to save the Sargrass, not destroy it! Help us to defeat the Ga'alian undead!"

Trellus has no idea if Galafar and his folks will listen even a little, but Domi would want him to try. He casts his Quickened Shield of Faith to provide even more protection.

"Bloodpack! Slay the Ga'alian undead first! We need to block Galafar's dudes from stabbing us in the back with some shady picks!"

The cleric then turns in place (keeping his hard to hit body as a possible target) and calls Domis Fire on the Undead. A Flame Strike erupts in a column of fire and touches F1, M2, F2, and Gilan in the fire. (10' radius from R/S 33/34; 36 Damage, Reflex DC 19 for only 27 damage. [half is physical damage, half is fire damage, save is only for fire damage])

Yanosh can see the Undead Mummy coming towards him... Most likely he was trying to get to the Golden Door for he can not see Yanosh... Good think Yanosh is there to block him! Yanosh swings twice with his Holy Was Axe but fails to hit!

Gilan grunts under the impact of the Greatsword! Few warriors have ever been able to penetrate his tough hide... The Blade comes out of Gilan's Remorhaz body red hot but the impressive blade is undamaged (Fort Save 25 vs 18). Then the Remorhaz takes a bite hoping to grapple the Mummy... it fails! The Remorhaz jaws snap shut but it's teeth can not damage the Undead creature!!!

Flea is surprised by all the attacks! Screaming to fill herself and her friends with courage she throws herself at the Rattledam Dwarves in front of her! She succeeds to slice through the Dwarves' armor... but he is not hurt by the Evil damage... they are not evil... (ooc Why sneak attack damage?)

"Attacked!" Vayine calls as he turns to face the Ratteldam Guards... "The Land, My Life!!" and then pulling out his sword he runs at the Axe-throwing dwarves... He easily hits the Dwarf and cuts deep through his armor...

Seeing Vayine running towards the Rattledam Guards Tishe' calls out in exasperation as she is facing a mummy... The mystic makes an evasive maneuver and throws a small furry ball in front of Mummy 3... immediately a large brown bear towers in front of the mummy with a craving for rotting mummy flesh... Too bad none of the attacks hit!!

"Light! Trellus agonizes as the Bloodpack walks right into a three way battle and both other sides seem to dislike the Pack... Struck twice by the arrows he calls out for Galafar who he expects to be back there... Ordering his friends to concentrate on the Ga'alians first he then calls Domi's Fire upon the Undead... (Ref Saves : M2:35 ; F1:15 ; F2:27) Even though the Mummy was able to avoid part of the damage the fire does more damage that it does with other creatures...

Grymash looks down at the fighter attacking him... with a grim smile she bashes several times with his axe??? Only one of his attacks hit...

Olaf sprints around Yanosh and the Mummy that attacks the dwarf and engages him with his Sickle... Hitting the Mummy's Touch AC the Mummy is knocked on the ground!!

Rattledam Turn

Vayine, Flea and Trellus can see the Rattledam guards hesitate as Vayine speaks the same oath they all one took... but then the Drow warrior brutally attacks one of the guards and so does Flea...

The orders were clear... let no one in... But that oath!?! Still they attack! They fight hard!

"Defend the Chamber!!! their leader (L) shouts...

D1 drops the Axe he was holding and takes out a Holy Adamantice War Axe... (drawing an AoO from both Vayine and Flea). Then he swings his axe and aims for the Drow warrior that bites hardest... (hitting AC31 -- damage 12 with Adamantine weapon + 2 Holy (no effect) )

D2 also drops his remaining axes and switches to a Warhammer... he makes a 5ft step forward to meet Flea and swings his weapon in a brutal full attack ... (hits MC54 AC22 ; MC17 ; MC86 AC 7 -- Damage 14)

One of the Palladins guarding the Well Chamber steps forward towards Vayine wielding an Adamantine Longsword... (hitting AC34 confirmed critical -- damage 12 + 9 = 21)

The other two Palladins block the door... standing ready for anyone approaching...

Ga'alian's Turn

M1 is attacked from the front and rear and is prone on the ground... standing up he offers Olaf and Yanosh an AoO... then (unless he is tripped again by Olaf) he lashes out at the dwarf with his Unholy Greatsword... (hitting AC 37 -- damage 20)

M2 further engages the Remorhaz... his weapon now red hot from hitting the Remorhaz he goes for a full attack! (Hitting AC39 -- no crit - Fort Save 19 ; AC36 -- Nat 20 -- No Crit -- Fort save 26 ; AC17 -- damage 19 and 20 = 39)
The Greatsword is burning red and it is amazing that it's not melting yet!!

M3 takes a 5ft step closer to the Brown Bear (taking an AoO that does nothing) and swings his Greatsword... (hitting AC36, 27, 16 -- damage 16, 20, 23 = 59) immediately killing the Bear!!! Then the Mummy growls at Tishe'...

Blackguard 1 moves closer to Olaf wielding an Unholy Bastard Sword... (hitting AC22)

B2 hustles forward towards Tishe' ...

F1 further attacks Grymash... This time he makes a full attack at the Half-Orc (hitting AC39 -- confirmed Critical, 30 and 27 -- damage 12+13 , 10, 8 = 43 -- ignoring electricity damage)

F2 also closes in on Grymash and takes a swing at the Half-Orc (hitting AC36 -- damage 15)

The Shadowdancer disappears... (spot check 41 -- to know he has made a double move towards S23 surrounding the battle)...

Great Migration

The Wold rumbles more and the quaking effects become stronger... so far you have no problem standing or fighting but if this Quake becomes worse things will look bad... of course this will also affect the Ga'alian.

Casting spells now needs a Concentration DC10.

Dust falls from the ceiling and here and there a little rock comes loose... little cracks become visible in the floor... the noise becomes louder...

Hearing Vayine using the oath as a battle cry Yanosh repeats it, "Talki Fresal, dondit liki." Seeing the mummy go down the Cleric of Gargul takes his chance and strikes at it as it trys to rise (hit Ac 16 miss). Axe throws sparks as he hits the ground next to it. Recovering as the thing gains its feet the Dwarf launches into it with his full attacks.

DM StevenVdB : Al has allready provided me with extra rule details :
Olaf's AoO comes before the Mummy tries to get up or while he is still prone (at a +2 attack roll). So Olaf can not trip the mummy again in his AoO. He can do so next turn if he wants to though.

So Yanosh does take damage anyhow...

The mystic wobbles on her feet. "Does this mean Xenia and her pack succeeded or failed?", she wants to know.

Tishe' is dismayed that her bear didn't last very long at all. "When I wanted breathing room", she complains to no one in particular, "it would have been nice for more than just inhaling!"

The mystic is nothing if not resourceful, though, and she hears Trellus' cry to get the Ga'al undead first. "To kill the undead, we need to disengage from the door defenders", she tells herself, and slings a Fog Cloud to cover the open doors. (point of impact, L/P, 19/20, 20 foot radius)

Gilan feels the flames sweep down upon him and though he is able to avoid some of it, he is still burnt badly. Then the sword is slamming into him and cutting through his hide rather well. Stumbling back slightly and racking his brain for his next move he is not sure how long he can hold out in this battle.

Taking the gamble he backs off and casts a simple spell that will at least outlast him in this battle. Hopefully it will help the group in turning the tide against the undead of Ga'al.

Hearing Vayine using the oath Yanosh repeats it...

"Talki Fresal, Dondit Liki" ... (ooc the line I was waiting for!!! 200 extra Xp for Yanosh)

Taking advantage of the Mummy in front him as he tries to get up Yanosh swings his axe but it only throws sparks as it hits the ground next to it... Then he recovers and takes a double swing... Yanosh misses with both swings...

Olaf too tries to hit the tripped mummy but fails as well... Shouting to Vayine, Flea and the Rattledam Guards Olaf hopes to convince all that they are on the same side... Olaf can see the Mummy brutally bashing Yanosh after he got up but can also see a Blackguard trying to flank him... he turns around and with his second attempts he drops the Blackguard to the ground...

Feeling the tremors beneath her Tishe' wobbles on her feet wondering if this means Xenia and her pack succeeded or failed...
Dismayed that her bear didn't last long she hopes to give her friends and the Rattledam Guards some more time by creating a Fog Cloud covering the open doors...

Vayine grits his teeth against the pain of the tough Ratteldam Guards and prepares to return the favor... but then Tishe's Fog Cloud appears... turning around he withdraws from the Fog and positions himself to intercept B2 and M3...

Trellus too commands his Pack to let the Door Defenders alone followed by their Oath... Then he calls for Domi's strength for him and his friends... the power of Domi blesses all the Bloodpack and lowers the Ga'alians strength...

"Whoooof..." comes from the Gnome as she is smashed by the Dwarven defenders... Then hearing Tishe' and Trellus ordering the Bloodpack to back down from the Door and deal with the Ga'alians first she hustles after Vayine and takes position directly in front of the Blackguard B2... she swings her Holy blade but misses...

Gilan stumbles back slightly as the Mummy blade pierces him over and over again... racking his brain for his next move... unsure how long he will hold out in this battle...
Taking a gamble he blesses the entire Bloodpack with a Bull's Strength Spell...

Strengthened by Gilan's spell Grymash gets anGry and goes for the kill...

Hitt!!... hit!!... miss... miss...miss...

Twice Grymash is able to slice through the Fighters' armor... cutting deep into his flesh...

Hearing the oaths the Rattledam Guards eyeball each other...

"Are they on our side?" one of the dwarves hisses to his companions...

"Galafar warned us about them..." answers his brother...

Then a Fog Cloud surrounds them and both Flea and Vayine back down...

Suddenly you can hear the voice of their leader coming out of the Well Chamber

"They fight on our side! Engage the Ga'alian's!!"

P2 follows Flea and stands beside her fighting the Blackguard... (hitting AC30 -- damage 8)

The Dwarves and remaining Palladins now seem to fight on your side and they all barge out of the room to assist the Bloodpack fighting the Ga'alians...

The Archers remain in the room and so does their leader...

B2 is angered because Olaf has tripped him and can't do anything but getting up to fight him... (Olaf gets an AoO)... once back on his feet he raises his Unholy Bastard Sword and lashes out at Olaf making a Smite vs Goodattack! (hitting MC81 AC36-1 -- damage 26-1Hp)

No one is paying attention to the Shadowdancer who just entered the Well Chamber...
