Flea curses a gnomish vulgarity... she had hoped to bluff and parlay her way past this pack... Surprised by the rogue dropping in front of her she thanks Yanosh who came to her aid and draws her holy sword. Her blade only scratches the rogue's light armor...
Vayine doesn't change expression as he cuts down Xarien... without showing mercy he brings down his blade once again and slaughters the helpless woman on the ground... she goes down in a pool of blood...
Xarien's pack watches her sinking to the ground and hesitates...
Already looking for a new target Vayine ignores the massacre he caused and moves to engage the enlarged human... he can not cut through the warrior's armor though...

Gilan isn't too worried about the enlarged human's blade but all the more of the wizards scorching rays... he's the one to deal with first! Gilan bites down and easily pulls the second wizard close!! Almost passing out in Gilan's grip the Wizard calls out for help!!

Grymash grumbles a bit. He appreciates such grit and spirit in the woman, but killing her gave him no satisfaction. It was way too easy. He kneels down to the broken body of the monk and quickly sends a small spark of healing energy into her. (cast cure minor wounds, 1 hp, just enough to stabilize if she was merely dying and not already dead). He then feels for a pulse to see if her spirit has already started its journey. (Heal check 9, heal check again 11)
If she's dead, then Grymash curses her for being so weak ... and stupid for provoking him.

"Stop, Yanosh!" cries Flea stepping back from (A), but with her sword held out and pointed at the enemy pack's rogue. "These folks aren't bad, an' they're no match for us."
She catches Olaf's eye, and any other Bloodpack who might look at her as she ontinues her diplomatic efforts (Diplomacy=16) , the rogue contiues, "that beater Galafar set you up!" she tells the surviving guard-pack, adding, " 'specially if he told you we meant Rattledam folks any harm. We'd look like white hands, killing off a junior guard-pack, and it would make us look bad to folks. We've still got friends and family under the dome, even if they don't speak up for us out of fear of Galafar and his cronies."
...at least, that's the way it seems to Flea!
Flea won't tell these guys what their mission is. Rather, she directs her pack mates to the dropped weapons, "confiscate their arms, and round 'em up, an' someone fetch Trellus."
Flea doesn't want to delay in her quest for the golden door and what lays behind it to deal with captives, but none the less, this ill equiped pack didn't merit a trip to the Shadowlands.

"OK, dude" he begins not unkindly "this is the way we're gonna weave. You get your packmates to dump thier weapons in the pool, and then you go outside. There is a tan bubble there that will keep the sun off you and keep you safe until sunset. Then you get to come back in. The large remorahz drops the wizard on the ground letting him go and breathe freely again. He backs off slightly but it is still painfully obvious that he can reach the wizard should he be stupid. Cocking his head to the side he glances to the wizard. "We broke from the Council when they went too far. They wanted us to kill innocents and even leave another pack to their deaths or life as stone statues if necessary." His voice is a loud rumble coming from the mouth of a very large worm, still not that hard to understand.
His eyes survey the area and he starts to worry about what it is that Galafar has set them up for. "What is Galafar's true plans...tell us what you know." There is no intimidation in his voice just worry for those that might be hurt in the process of whatever the man is planning.

One by one the Pack that was guarding this place throw down their weapons. Still not fast enough for Yanosh... he swings twice at the Halfling in front of him hitting her once...
Flea cries out to Yanosh to make him stop attacking. These men aren't bad and they were no match for the Bloodpack... Grymash tends to the woman he nearly killed while Olaf sees if he can still help Xarien...
Vayine still stands strong over the fallen woman's body and sees Olaf shake his head... the woman is dead and should be in Gargul's hands now... or will she be in Ga'al's hands...
Tishe' and Trellus interrogate Lesor - once he is released by Gilan of course...
"The High Priest has ordered us to guard this place while some of his best men were sent elsewhere... we don't know where they are though... we only recently formed this pack... we have heard of you and how you were exiled form Rattledam..."
The Bloodpack then thinks about their actual reason for being here and Tishe' brings the toppic back to the Golden Door...
"A Golden Door?" Lesor asks... "I have never heard of something like that... where is this door? What lies behind?!? Is that where you are going?!?"
Obviously these guys are unimportant and inexperienced... But then where did Galafar put his 'best' men??!!??
"Can't we come with you?" Lesor asks.
Time slowly goes by and this little sidekick consumed prescious minutes...

"We may be hard pressed in a while and will not be able to help you should your pack get in trouble. Run out to the 'bubble' I told you of, and you will be safe enough until sunset. Then get your threads back to your homes before you get into more warped patterns."
The blonde cleric will have Vayine and Gilan 'escort' the unarmed Youngpack to the tunnel entrance and make sure they leave.
Then he turns to Flea. "Lead the weave, Flea. Let's get to the Golden Door and keep the Child safe from everyone. And stay shuttlecocked. Galafar's 'best' may be there."
Trellus lets Flea and Olaf lead off, then Grymash, Yanosh, and himself, before Tishe', Gilan, and Vayine follow.

Gilan, still in his battle form, nods his head and buts the mage lightly. "You got to move and hide. Maybe if things do not go good for you, we can provide a better place to live." He glances to Trellus and nods his head as he does not want to make promises, but if this group was in that much trouble he felt it might be wise to help them out. There was also the fact that their pack was to blame, no matter who set it all up.
He will help to herd them back to the protection of the hidey area and remind them not to stay past a certain time before he moves to catch back up with his pack. Glancing to Vayine he gives a large wormie smile. "Want a ride back?" He will allow Vayine to use him as a mount for at least this bit of time, though he might be good at that later as well. It is something that might be good to think about in the future.

Stepping back from the Halfling the Dwarf has a stricken look on his face. He has broken his oath made when he left home, to always protect the weak and innoccent. These guards were lied to and sent here to die at their hands. Yanosh lowers his head and swears "Galafar will die for sending them here to their deaths."
Shouldering his Axe he draws his dagger and slices the braid from his Goatee. Yanosh drops the Braid into his pouch. Silently he reaches out and places a healing hand on the Halfing. "Go with Garguls Blessings little Friend." Healing for 6 hps.

Lesor whimpers at the Half-Orcs outburst and when the Remorhaz gives him a nudge also claiming they can no longer call Rattledam their home the young wizard frowns...
"Then where do we go?! You speak of a better place... all we know out there is cursed grass..." he asks out loud...
Grymash tends to the monk he attacked. Yanosh is furious for Galafar making him attack these young ignorent lads... He will die for this!
Knowing time is slowly passing by the Bloodpack now has no time to deal with this young Pack... they have to get outside and the Bloodpack has to get to the Golden Door before the Chaospack will ring the Chaos Bell!!
Herding the youngsters outside the Pack then follows Flea down the tunnels towards the Golden Door...

Then finally the tunnel opens up into the the large round chamber where the Bloodpack swore their oath in front of the Mankife, Malafret and ... well ok... Galafar...
Covering the floor, walls, and ceiling are hundreds upon thousands of cave paintings. Most of them are hands, but some are of other things... However of most interest is the huge gold door set into the far side of the chamber
Trellus remember the door well as he felt almost slammed back into his body as he was trying to find out if the door was magical... oh it is... it's VERY magical! Magic radiates through this chamber and works intoxicating...
The room appears to be deserted...

Gilan allows his large head to survey the room and he wonders what type of blood magic might have been used here. Hopefully though, it was just a battle though it does look like one that someone lost adn very badly.
With a last look to the group he moves slowly into the open area and towards the door. Most likely he will be joining a number of them that have already moved there as well. "Someone lost badly here...or something worse than that happened." He does not even want to think about that, so focuses on the task ahead of them...saving the Wold, saving Rattledam and saving those he cares about.

Grymash scans the room carefully. Looking at the ceiling and the floor. Every little nook and cranny. Listening to all the sounds he can hear (listen 17). Every little heartbeat, every little breath. Trying to gain a sense of what's there and what isn't.

Yanosh falls into place as the Bloodpacks moves towards the Door... Flea remembers the way and allready she can feel the thrill of finally being able to see what is hidden behind... Tishe' and Vayine too follow close behind... Vigilent for danger...
Flea enters the room first and alerts the Bloodpack of all the blood on the ground... she also spots more splatters on the far walls... phew...
Trellus keeps his calm... he decides ot get to the door fast... He reminds everyone that they are here to help and they don't want to use anythign that's on the other side...
Olaf and Gilan position themselfs behind their leader.. Grymash scans the room more closely but can't see anything else but the blood...
The room looks empty... but does it feel empty?

Then as Flea and Trellus get closer to the door and Trellus speaks to remind them all not to want anything from behind the door and to be here to help...
Flea reaches out...
And then the hinges crack!!
A gush of wind and an eery sound...
The Golden Door opens!!!
Slowly the door opens outwards and it slowly reveals what is behind it...
Trellus and Flea are the first to see well armored guards behind!!!
"LET NO ONE ENTER!!!"
On the first row the Bloodpack can see two Dwarves armed with Throwing Axes... Each of them takes a 5ft step closer to the door and throws axes at Trellus and Flea as they are standing closest to the door!!
D1 attacks Flea and hits MC40; MC72 AC25; MC50 - damage 12 D2 attacks Trellus and hits AC 16, 19, 16
Two Archers at the back allready have their arrows nocked and make rapid shot attacks at the Bloodpack! Again Flea and Trellus are standing closest to the door and are the most favorable targets!! Their composite longbows crackle with energy as the arrows veer towards their targets...
"We thank you for opening the door for us... the door would not open for us... we WANT was is hidden inside!!! HAHAHAHA... you have served us well!! Ga'al will most certainly serve you a place among his finest army!!!"
By the time this hidden one has spoken behind you a number of Ga'alians appear!!
(OOC I had to position you all somewhere on the map so had to pick targets... I positioned you with dice rolls... hope you don't mind)
Yanosh suddenly sees a Mummy stumbeling towards him wielding a vicious looking greatsword!! The Mummie can't make a full attack but never the less he strikes Yanosh ones... (M1 attacks Yanosh and hits AC38 - damage 18)
A second mummie strumples towards Gilan Remorhaz and also lashes out with it's Greatsword... (M2 attacks Gilan and hits AC38 - damage 26)
A third mummie tries to reach Vayine but can't get there yet...
The ones who brought the mummie can't act this turn but they do look dangerous too...
Two more fighters appeared! One of them makes use of his full round... The fighter walks straight up to Grymash wielding a longsword... (F1 attacks Grymash and hits AC31 - damage 10 + 4 electricity damage (gry is covered with a stoneskin I believe and his armor is resisting to Electricity right? So in that case none of the damage actually hurt Gry...)
The Shadowdancer that was hiding among the walls throws a few sling bullets at the largest enemy on the field and that happens to be Gilan... (S1 attacks Gilan and hits AC24 and 29) but nothing strikes...
The Golden door has openend... this is what Ga'al's men have been waiting for. Inside there appear to be guardians of Rattledam... Both the Ga'alians as the Rattledam guards seem to dislike the Bloodpack...
And so the first deserted chamber becomes pretty crowded!!

Be it a coincidence of a brutal twist of fate but suddenly you can see the vision of the Chaospack battleling hordes of Ga'alians and Ga'al standing in the center!!!

"Galafar! Call off your pack! The Bloodpack wants to save the Sargrass, not destroy it! Help us to defeat the Ga'alian undead!"
Trellus has no idea if Galafar and his folks will listen even a little, but Domi would want him to try. He casts his Quickened Shield of Faith to provide even more protection.
"Bloodpack! Slay the Ga'alian undead first! We need to block Galafar's dudes from stabbing us in the back with some shady picks!"
The cleric then turns in place (keeping his hard to hit body as a possible target) and calls Domis Fire on the Undead. Gilan grunts under the impact of the Greatsword! Few warriors have ever been able to penetrate his tough hide... The Blade comes out of Gilan's Remorhaz body red hot but the impressive blade is undamaged (Fort Save 25 vs 18). Then the Remorhaz takes a bite hoping to grapple the Mummy... it fails! The Remorhaz jaws snap shut but it's teeth can not damage the Undead creature!!!
Flea is surprised by all the attacks! Screaming to fill herself and her friends with courage she throws herself at the Rattledam Dwarves in front of her! She succeeds to slice through the Dwarves' armor... but he is not hurt by the Evil damage... they are not evil... (ooc Why sneak attack damage?)
"Attacked!"Vayine calls as he turns to face the Ratteldam Guards... "The Land, My Life!!" and then pulling out his sword he runs at the Axe-throwing dwarves... He easily hits the Dwarf and cuts deep through his armor...
Seeing Vayine running towards the Rattledam Guards Tishe' calls out in exasperation as she is facing a mummy... The mystic makes an evasive maneuver and throws a small furry ball in front of Mummy 3... immediately a large brown bear towers in front of the mummy with a craving for rotting mummy flesh... Too bad none of the attacks hit!!
"Light!Trellus agonizes as the Bloodpack walks right into a three way battle and both other sides seem to dislike the Pack... Struck twice by the arrows he calls out for Galafar who he expects to be back there... Ordering his friends to concentrate on the Ga'alians first he then calls Domi's Fire upon the Undead... (Ref Saves : M2:35 ; F1:15 ; F2:27) Even though the Mummy was able to avoid part of the damage the fire does more damage that it does with other creatures...
Grymash looks down at the fighter attacking him... with a grim smile she bashes several times with his axe??? Only one of his attacks hit...
Olaf sprints around Yanosh and the Mummy that attacks the dwarf and engages him with his Sickle... Hitting the Mummy's Touch AC the Mummy is knocked on the ground!!

Rattledam Turn
Vayine, Flea and Trellus can see the Rattledam guards hesitate as Vayine speaks the same oath they all one took... but then the Drow warrior brutally attacks one of the guards and so does Flea...
The orders were clear... let no one in... But that oath!?! Still they attack! They fight hard!
"Defend the Chamber!!! their leader (L) shouts...
D1 drops the Axe he was holding and takes out a Holy Adamantice War Axe... (drawing an AoO from both Vayine and Flea). Then he swings his axe and aims for the Drow warrior that bites hardest... (hitting AC31 -- damage 12 with Adamantine weapon + 2 Holy (no effect) )
D2 also drops his remaining axes and switches to a Warhammer... he makes a 5ft step forward to meet Flea and swings his weapon in a brutal full attack ... (hits MC54 AC22 ; MC17 ; MC86 AC 7 -- Damage 14)
One of the Palladins guarding the Well Chamber steps forward towards Vayine wielding an Adamantine Longsword... (hitting AC34 confirmed critical -- damage 12 + 9 = 21)
The other two Palladins block the door... standing ready for anyone approaching...

Ga'alian's Turn
M1 is attacked from the front and rear and is prone on the ground... standing up he offers Olaf and Yanosh an AoO... then (unless he is tripped again by Olaf) he lashes out at the dwarf with his Unholy Greatsword... (hitting AC 37 -- damage 20)
M2 further engages the Remorhaz... his weapon now red hot from hitting the Remorhaz he goes for a full attack! (Hitting AC39 -- no crit - Fort Save 19 ; AC36 -- Nat 20 -- No Crit -- Fort save 26 ; AC17 -- damage 19 and 20 = 39) The Greatsword is burning red and it is amazing that it's not melting yet!!
M3 takes a 5ft step closer to the Brown Bear (taking an AoO that does nothing) and swings his Greatsword... (hitting AC36, 27, 16 -- damage 16, 20, 23 = 59) immediately killing the Bear!!! Then the Mummy growls at Tishe'...
Blackguard 1 moves closer to Olaf wielding an Unholy Bastard Sword... (hitting AC22)
B2 hustles forward towards Tishe' ...
F1 further attacks Grymash... This time he makes a full attack at the Half-Orc (hitting AC39 -- confirmed Critical, 30 and 27 -- damage 12+13 , 10, 8 = 43 -- ignoring electricity damage)
F2 also closes in on Grymash and takes a swing at the Half-Orc (hitting AC36 -- damage 15)
The Shadowdancer disappears... (spot check 41 -- to know he has made a double move towards S23 surrounding the battle)...

Great Migration
The Wold rumbles more and the quaking effects become stronger... so far you have no problem standing or fighting but if this Quake becomes worse things will look bad... of course this will also affect the Ga'alian.
Casting spells now needs a Concentration DC10.
Dust falls from the ceiling and here and there a little rock comes loose... little cracks become visible in the floor... the noise becomes louder...

Hearing Vayine using the oath as a battle cry Yanosh repeats it, "Talki Fresal, dondit liki." Seeing the mummy go down the Cleric of Gargul takes his chance and strikes at it as it trys to rise (hit Ac 16 miss). Axe throws sparks as he hits the ground next to it. Recovering as the thing gains its feet the Dwarf launches into it with his full attacks.

OoC I'll take the dmg from the mummy once Olaf's turn is done.
DM StevenVdB : Al has allready provided me with extra rule details : Olaf's AoO comes before the Mummy tries to get up or while he is still prone (at a +2 attack roll). So Olaf can not trip the mummy again in his AoO. He can do so next turn if he wants to though.
So Yanosh does take damage anyhow...

As the mummy moves in, Gilan takes a nice bite out of the thing. Then the blade is biting into his flesh again and he feels what little bits of his life still holding...if only by a thread. His mind races but he knows that he cannot give up now or his friends will pay the price.
Then he feels healing pour into his body from Tishe', though Olaf tries to aid him but his spell fails. He had been about to pull back when Tishe' stumbles with the quake that is slowly building. His form ripples once again and soon a large white bear is standing where the wyrm once way, but he uses his large body to shield Tishe'.

Yanosh takes a 5ft step backwards so he can use his tattoo safely. The tattoo magic is not disturbed by the Quake nor by the absence of Gargul and works perfectly.
Olaf takes advantage of the Blackguard as he tries to get back on his feet and despite his lower defence Olaf still fails to hit him!
(ooc like the Mummy last turn : AC26 +4 prone +1 prayer = AC31 was insufficient. Gilan's Bull's Strength came later... it was a hit with Bull's strength... Mummy has AC33...)
Reeling from the Blackguard's smiting blow and seeing Yanosh and Gilan teetering Olaf tumbles backwards to help Gilan... but like TrellusOlaf too is disturbed by the quake and fails his healing spell...
Vayine braces himself against the earthquake and lashes out at M3... even though his hits would have damaged practically any creature he only hits once! (damage 19 with prayer)
Seeing Trellus trying to help Yanosh, Tishe' does the same with Gilan. The mystic sneaks up behind the heavily wounded Remorhaz and heals the worm... but then the Quake becomes too violent for Tishe' as she falls on the ground... (prone)
Flea tumbles up and around the Blackguard but vainly stabs with her sword... perhaps it will distract him but then the Quake makes Flea fall to the ground!! (can't see the Balance check...)
Gilan takes advantage of the Mummy as he tries to close in... this time he bites and his bite is extremely effective!!! It's a Critical hit!!! Unable to move backwards as Tishe' falls on the ground behind him Gilan stands and changes shape into a White Bear...
Grymash goes berserk as he bashes his axe over and over again at the Fighters in front of him...
miss... miss... miss... HIT!!... HIT!!...
The last hit was enough for the Fighter to sink to his knees!! And with that Grymash's axe slices on cutting extremely deep into the second fighter!!! Way to go Gry!!! (fort save 19 vs 15)
Heavily wounded and wobbeling on his legs the Fighter does not go down because of the heavy damage... The Wounding effect of Grymash's axe brings the fighter even closer to meeting Gargul or Ga'al but still he stands...
But Grymash too fails to brace himself against the earthquake!! (can't see the Balance Check...)
With a few impressive attacks the Bloodpack has succeeded to weaken several of the Ga'alian forces... but the Quake has a terrible effect... 3 members of the Bloodpack go down and are prone!!! (marked as dark green on the map. Sorry friends but I asked to roll the Balance Check several times)

P2 is eager to return the Smiting favor to the Blackguard that just attacked him... (hitting AC33 -- damage 23)
D1 tries to deal with the Mummy in front of him taking a full attack... (hitting AC25, 20, 13) but he fails to connect even once!!
D2 the second dwarf takes a 5ft step closer to the mummy and goes into a flanking position... (hitting AC35, 33 no crit, 14 -- damage 9+2 , 10+6
P1 takes a 5ft step closer to M2 and takes a full attack (hitting AC30, 29 NAT20 no crit, 17 -- damage 10 HP)
P3 moves around the fallen Grymash and helps him dealing with the remaining fighter (hitting AC28 -- damage 14)... Fighter 2 has had it... he readies himself to meet Ga'al and explain why he has failed...
The Archers inside the Well Chamber try to see through the fog but are mostly concerned for something else that is happening in there... They are clearly panicking about something...
The Earthquake also has it's effect on the Rattledam Guards... Two Paladins fall prone on the ground and so does their Leader!! (marked in darker yellow on the map)
None of the remaining Ga'alian taskforce are affected by the Earthquake.
And so the frenzy continues...
B2 if more angered by the Paladin P2 than he would ever be by the little Gnome (even though she can sting quite hard). These Blackguards are both fallen paladins so they absolutely hate everything there is about Good Paladins... Seeing the Paladin Prone on the ground is absolutely fantastic for this Blackguard... he raises his unholy bastard sword and makes a full attack at the Prone defender of the Well Chamber.... (hitting AC32-1+4, 28-1+4, 23-1+4 -- damage 16+6, 7+4)
M3 is painfully struck by Vayine and hopes to get back at him... (hitting AC34-1, 19-1, 31 nat 20 no crit -- damage 25, 20)
M2 doesn't quite understand where the huge Worm just went but instead suddenly finds a White Bear in front of him... the Paladin is a pain in the... but the Bear is a lot bigger... so M2 pummels the White Bear... (hitting AC31-1, 27-1, 30-1)
M1 still faces Yanosh and sees he is being helped by Trellus... mindlessly he makes a 5ft step forward and bashes the Dwarf into the ground... (hitting AC22, 24, 23)

This actually means that Gilan will regain 11HP's from shapeshifting instead of being at full health...
Gilan was at 2HP at the end of previous round. He was healed by Tishe' for 27HP's. Then you shapechange from Remorhaz to White Bear gaining 11HP (your level).
So at the end of this turn (since Gilan took no damage this round) Gilan White Bear is at 40HP

Without a whole lot of choice, Gilan turns his attention to the mummy once again. With Tishe' now out of danger he feels that he has no choice but to try and continue his attacks. Hopefully he will be able to put the mummy down this time around and he will be in slightly better sheep.

Feeling a lot better Yanosh keeps trying to hurt the Mummy... to no avail...
Rather than getting up first Tishe' concentrates and casts a Fly spell on herself. She flies up and hovers towards the door... dismissing the Fog Cloud she can see the Rattledam Leader laying on the ground... wounded...
Tishe's' eyes grow wide as she sees what is happening in the Well Chamber... the well itself holding the very dangerous Woldsblood is protected by a thick glass semi sphere... but the glass is cracked!! Inside due to the earthquake Tishe' sees the Woldsblood bubbling and splashing against the interior glass dome that contains it... if the glass breaks... Woldsblood will splash all around the Well Chamber!!!
Staggering from the Mummy's assault Vayine looks to get out of trouble... taking one well aimed shot at the mummy he does a fair amount of damage and then takes a 5ft step backwards... With the mummy surrounded by two Dwarves there's a good chance Vayine will stay unharmed this round... But... he fails to brace himself against the tremors and falls to the floor!!! (aarghhh... can't see Balance Check!!)
Vayine calls out for healing but his words are lost in the noise...
Olaf can see Vayine stepping out of close combat and Yanosh being healed... things look better... he moves in position where Vayine stood earlier and makes a trip attack at M3... once again he is successful! (Trip DC19 vs trip attempt 20) M3 falls prone in the ground right in front of the two dwarves... they already cheer as they see him go down!
Flea stays in place to fight and attacks the Blackguard in his back... her attack is successful and her Holy blade stings hard... Despite all the noise the Quake makes Flea hopes to inspire courage in the hearts of all allies... (due to the noise the song only reaches those 15ft away from you instead of 30ft away... D2, D1 and P2 are affected.)
Gilan once again turns his attention on the Mummy... with Tishe' out of danger he hopes to put the mummy down... (mummy grapple DC 10+13BAB+9STR=32 vs Grapple attempt 38) Gilan successfully takes hold of the Mummy!! ... but he is not defeated yet!! (close but not yet ;-) )
Grymash scrambles to his feet and this time has no trouble to keep standing... insulted that he fell in the blood of his slain foes he throws his beloved dagger at M1 without success...
Vayine and Trellus are prone on the ground but not threatened...

(hitting AC32 -- damage 9)
D1 and D2 hope to destroy the Mummy as he lays down on the ground thanks to Olaf's Trip attack!! They take full advantage of his lowered defenses!!
P1 can't reach the Mummy that is being held by Gilan now without risking to hurt the White Bear too... instead he turns to face his nemesis and engages B2! (hitting AC23)
P3 tries to get up but is immediately bashed by the Blackguard (AoO AC36 confirmed critical -- damage 12+1+9+6) Taking the hit the Paladin then swings his Longsword to return the favor to the Blackguard... (hitting AC20)
The Rattledam Guards Leader tries to get back on his feet but is immediately struck by the Shadowdancer behind him!! (AoO hitting AC25+4)
Then the Leader turns around to face the Dancer... not wielding any weapons he strikes the Shadowdancer with full force!! (hitting AC38 -- damage 12+8+6) Shadowdancer makes a Fort save 13 vs Touch of Golden Ice DC14 and fails. Takes another 2Hp initial damage and 11Hp secondary damage)
R1 and R2 move in to help their Leader but he instructs them to keep everyone else from entering the room... so instead of mixing in the battle between the Ga'alian leader and their own leader they concentrate on the battle outside... R1 makes a 5ft step forward so he can get a clear line of fight to M1... Tishe' suddenly hears and feels 4 arrows veering right next to her ears as they speed towards M1... (hitting AC36, 36, 34, 28 -- damage 6+5, 7+3, 8+1)
R2 can't get any clear line of sight anywhere... instead he takes position close to the door...
The Rattledam Guards are having a tough time bracing themselves from the Quake... the two remaining Paladins and one dwarf fall to the floor!!

Ga'alian turn B2 is surrounded but doesn't plan on giving in just yet... he continues to concentrate on P2 and for the second time he goes for a Smite attack hoping to kill the Paladin!! (Hitting AC34 -- damage 31+1) The Paladin cries in agony as the Unholy Blade pierces his armor... then he sinks to the ground and dies... The Blackguard roars in pleasure as the first Paladin goes down!! He then spins around to face Flea and the other Paladin and takes a 5ft step backwards... (no AoO)
M3 is down on the ground... heavily wounded... he tries to get up but thus provokes AoO's from D1, D2, O and P1... (D1 hits AC30+4+1 -- damage 20)... already it proves t be sufficient... D1's blade strikes down the Mummy not to get up anymore...
M2 is being held firm by Gilan and drops his Greatsword... instead he bashes Gilan Bear with his bare hands (hitting AC34, 21, 17 -- damage 13 + Mummy Rot- Gilan must make a Fort DC22)
M1 grins at Yanosh who appears to be healed nicely... again the mummy raises his blade and swings madly at the Dwarf... (hitting AC28, 24, 18 -- damage 20, 25) (Yanosh drops to 7Hp!!)

Great Migration
The Quake already lasted 18 seconds and still is seems to get worse... more and more rocks are falling from the ceiling...
Everyone on the map has a 25% chance of getting hit by a falling rock -- no ref save
One of the Dwarves suddenly gets a rock on his head taking 5Hp damage... The Rattledam Leader is also hit taking 10Hp damage... Gilan, being large he of course had a bigger risk, is hit by one stone... 8Hp... Even though Tishe' is now flying and can no longer be hampered by the tremors is not clear from the falling rocks... she get's one on the shoulder doing 3Hp damage... Yanosh is already badly wounded by the Mummy and to make all things even worse he gets a medium sized rock on the cranium... 6Hp ... ([b]Yanosh down to 1Hp!!!!)[/b]
Inside the Well Chamber the Glass covering the Woldsblood is also hit by several Rocks... It won't take much longer before it breaks!! And then Woldsblood will be splashing around the Chamber!! Those with some hint on the Woldsblood power know that getting hit by but even a little drop would have devastating effects...
Again made DC10 Balance check and spellcasting require a DC15 Con check Not making this roll means an AUTOMATIC FAILURE.

He and the dwarf are in trouble, and the blond man instinctively reaches way back to his tried and true solution to such problems..

Olaf scrambles against the shaking [balance check 15], and keeps his feet. Hearing Trellus's call, he tumbles over to V27, and attempts to trip the mummy (M1) once more (touch attack hits AC 30; trip attempt 8 (nat 1), reflex save to not drop the sickle 14, no problem)
Did Trellus say something? All Grymash hears in his head is the screaming of anguished souls all who fell to the half-orc's ax. Stepping forward (5-ft step, U29), he blurred barrage of slashing attacks descend up on the mummy.

Dropping his Axe the Cleric quickly pulls a vile from his pack. Yanosh, finally shaken by the quake, dives at the mummy on the floop near him. [b] may die but you are going with me. Make room Gargul! Yanosh brings home to rest.!"[/] He calls out as he attacks the mummy with a vile of CURE SERIOUS WOUNDS. With a small sounding crash he smashes the vile.
(OoC If I am right it has the oposite effect on the undead. Been awhile since I have tryed a move like this.)

Again the rogue manages to keep her feet despite the quake [Baance=28]. She uses the confusion to tumble into a flanking position against the blackguard [Tumble=20] and stabs at it with her holy shortsword [Hit AC=33 (forgot Bulls strength and inspired courage); miss chance = 41 pass; damage =8+10=18 hp]. She smiles a wicked smile as her blade strikes home, and then she prepares to avoid the inevitable onslaught [Dodge vs B2; effective AC=23]. The gnome continues her chanting throughout the attack.

Tossed around on the shacking floor Trellus fishes out a Wand and touches Yanosh... This again heals the battered dwarf who has seen but not entered the dark tunnel with a light at the end twice now during this battle...
Then the blond Cleric instinctively reaches to the Bloodpack's tried and true solution to problems like these...

Being temporarily clear from combat Vayine scrapes himself of the ground and touches his healing tattoo... This time he won't fall on the ground no more!!
"OW!"Tishe' barks as she is hit by a rock on the shoulder... looking around in panic the mystic no longer knows where to go first... help Yanosh... no Gilan... Vayine... the Rattledam dudes... the well!... aaarghhhh...
Realizing the threat the cracked Woldsblood container would pose she turns around to face the Rattledam archers and warns them not to take her as target practice while she tries to help! Taking her Staff of Frost she casts a hemisphere of ice over the glass!!

I was searching for your balance check... could not find it... got an evil grin on my face... it quickly faded as I realized you have a flying spell... sniff sniff... taking back the 200XP I just awarded for opposing your friendly DM... ok just kidding...)
Olaf braces himself against the shaking and as he hears Trellus holler for aid the unkempt Human tumbles across the room to trip the Mummy but he's already prone on the ground... Olaf decides to hold his attack till after the mummy got up...
Making a 5ft step towards the prone mummy Grymash goes in for the kill... only his haste attack hits though.
Yanosh drops his axe... so far he has been unable to hit the Mummy with it. This time he tries something different... pulling a vile from his pack he dives at the mummy and breaks the vile... (Unsure but I believe potions must be drunk for them to function... is breaking them and pouring the content over someone successful?! Dunno but I'm going along with it as I like the idea...) The Mummy roars in pain as the healing liquid burns into his rotting carcass...
Gilan still has hold of the Mummy in his arms but can't bite through its armor... he does however maintain hold!
Flea takes advantage of all the confusion and moves into a flanking position to engage B2... her blade stings deep but it is not nearly enough to kill the Blackguard...

Rattledam Turn
With hardly anyone surrounding B2, the Rattledam archer R2 has found an interesting mark in the Blackguard... (hitting AC41 Nat20 confirmed crit, 39, 26, 13 -- damage 8+3+8+4+12+6 , 13+2)... the Blackguard takes massive damage but does not yield...
P1 gets back on his feet and immediately throws himself upon the Blackguard once more... (hitting AC15-nat1)... good thing Flea just blinked for his blade would have cut right through her instead!!
D1 also gets back on his feet, manouvres between his fallen comerades, tries to stay out of the Archer's line of fire and then lashes out at the Blackguard... (hitting AC26+1 -- damage 22+3)... still the Blackguard does not sink to the ground although it is obvious he can't hold much longer... blood literally gushes from the many wounds he has taken and he won't be able to resist any more of the Holy weapons used by the Rattledam guards...
The Dwarf's brother too moves in again... (hitting AC27+1 -- damage 22+2)
At last the Blackguard screams in pain and agony as he is preparing himself to face Ga'al... he has failed!!
The second archer sees Tishe' standing in his line of fire towards the prone mummy... nothing a 5ft step can't medicate... then he rapidly fires... again Tishe' can feel the wind next to her as 4 deadly arrows veer towards their target... Being Prone though the Mummy gains protection from ranged attacks +4... (hitting AC40-4, 35-4, 26-4, 16-4 -- damage 9+6) Only one arrow strikes the prone mummy...
P3 gets back on his feet before the Blackguard does and immediately plants his sword into the Blackguard's armor... (hitting AC23+4 -- damage 13) This only is the first wound the Ga'alian Blackguard takes!!
One of the Archers makes a wrong move, twisting his ankle on a rock than fell from the ceiling and falls to the floor!! One of the dwarves too falls once again...

Ga'alian turn
Many of the Ga'alian task force have been slain but they will not give in... admitting to have fallen in combat is not as bad as yielding in combat...
M2 is still grappled by Gilan and pounds away with his fists... (hitting AC22, 27, 23) none of the rotting fists can get through Gilan's tough hide...
M1 gets back on his feet leaving Yanosh on the ground but meets Grymash's axe once again (Gry take an AoO please)... this is exactly the moment Olaf has been waiting for... he lashes out with his sickle trying to trip the mummy again but this time he fails...
Back on his feet the Mummy can see the hulking Half-Orc, a fallen Dwarf and a human that enjoys tripping everyone... even though being tripped is annoying it doesn't hurt as much as a Half-Orc's axe... he raises his Greatsword and turns to Grymash... (hitting AC29, 26, 26 -- damage 22, 20, 22 -- 30 absorbed by stoneskin -- 34 effective damage)
B1 too has to get up... but this he can not without getting the Paladin's blade on the back of his neck... (P3 AoO hitting AC27 -- damage 14) Then he grins wickedly and decides to plant his Unholy Bastard Sword into the Paladin's gut... (hitting AC31 -- damage 16)
S1 makes a 5ft step out of hiding, attacks the leader unarmed with a full attack (hitting AC22, 31, 23 -- damage 18 -- 2 levels energy drain) The Rattledam leader is visibly being drained of many of his capabilities as the vampiric Monk/Shadowdancer does his job... this time though he can not hide as he took a full attack... (ooc : rules concerning Shadowdancers are under debate on the rules board atm)

A crack in the floor grows bigger as the Quake continues...
Underneath Tishe's Ice Helmet and the Glass Cover you can still see the Woldsblood splashing against the interior of the hemisphere...

Tishe' moves up to 20 feet above the floor, enabling her to look around and also let the archers shoot without getting quite so close!
That the Leader is fighting something that is flickering in and out of sight is rather obvious, and Tishe' thinks she knows a way to even the odds. Weaving her hands, she places a Daylight spell onto her dagger at her side. She then draws the weapon and throws it to land behind the Leader (toss to P,15, AC 25) "That should reduce the shadows in the chamber!" she calls.

Gilan continues to maintain his hold upon the mummy and finds that his fur is more than enough to turn the things blows. Breathing slightly harder and getting a little worried about the final outcome, he hopes that he will get lucky this time with his own bite. Still trying to maintain his hold upon the mummy he is lucky to not fall with the continued shaking of the ground, but a new plan is starting to form in his mind.
His eyes turn to the crack that is forming, trying to judge how big it will be getting really soon and if he figures he can dump a mummy into it.

The ground shakes once again, however the nimble rogue keeps her feet (Balance=26).
The blackguard is down! Activating the magic of her boots she runs after the flying members of her party...towards the well. (New position P22)

Post on Monday night.
Yanosh pulls a vial from his pouch while laying on the floor and smashes it against the legs of the mummy standing in front of him. The Cure Moderate Wounds potion damages the undead as the liquid seeps into the bandages that cover its legs.
Olaf keeps his feet and sees an opportunity. The rogue tumbles to flank one of the Ga'alian opponents but cannot pull the blackguard down.
Tishe' moves higher into the air in order to get a better look at whatever the leader of the defenders is fighting. Hoping to shed some light on the situation, the theurge casts a Daylight spell on a dagger sheathed at her side. Even before drawing the weapon, the spell is enough to banish many of the shadows in the chamber. Tishe' will have an opportunity next turn to draw and throw the dagger.
Vayine moves forward and attacks the mummy held in Gilan's mouth. The sword sinks into the undead flesh of the opponent.
Trellus recognizes Tishe's wisdom and activates his boots, rising above the floor and avoiding the tremors that could knock anyone down.
Gilan tightens his grip upon the mummy and succeeds in damaging it enough to disperse the evil magic animating the undead creature. The mummy slumps into a pile of bandages and dust under the great white bear.
Grymash swings at the mummy, hitting it with his third attack. His double axe swings further, hitting the blackguard. The half-orc barbarian keeps swinging at the blackguard and hits once more.
Flea activates her boots and moves into the central chamber, shouting to Tishe' and Trellus as she goes. The rogue sees what is happening here but it appears to be similar to nothing from her knowledge of Rattledam or of the Sargrass. There are rumors about Woldsblood, though, that suggest that there is great danger if that pool erupts.
Rattledam
The leader channels his healing energy and tries to touch the vampiric leader of the Ga'alians. The first attack misses but the second connects. The undead creature withstands a portion of the positive energy but is still badly hurt. The leader then steps back to create some space.
P2 glances over at the Bloodpack and his partner surrounding the last blackguard and decides to aid his leader. He nimbly avoids the ankle-twisting rocks scattered across the floor.
P3 keeps his feet and swings at the blackguard. Only one blow lands, though.
R1 gets to his feet and immediately falls again.
R2 feels that the blackguard is no threat, and nimbly moves to get a better shot at the opponent fighting with his leader. The one arrow that he loses, however, goes wide.
The first dwarf (D1) keeps rolling around on the floor. The other dwarf (D2) heads towards his leader.
Ga'alians
The sole remaining blackguard steps aside and swings at the paladin. His bastard sword lands only once before the Ga'alian steps on a piece of rubble and crashes to the floor.
The vampiric shadowdancer keeps his feet and closes with the leader once more. This time, none of it's attacks land.
Great Migration
The shaking intensifies and only those flying overhead are not hindered. Even worse, the rocks falling from the ceiling are getting larger.
Even more frightening, several rocks fall on the dome of ice protecting the pool of Woldsblood. Each rock chips away at the ice until the dome is fissured and cracked. But the dome has served to protect the Woldsblood and everyone near it for the time being.

Trellus flies towards Flea, drawing a wand as he moves. Once close enough to the gnome, the human cleric activates the wand and heals Flea.
Yanosh gets to his feet, grabbing his axe as he rises, before activating his Tattoo. However, the earthquake's shaking topples him again.
Grymash closes with the remaining blackguard. His axe flashes repeatedly, striking the Ga'alian four times. Between the damage and the wounding effect of the weapon, the blackguard is killed. Like the others, the evil fighter dies with an expression of mixed terror and hope on his face.
Vayine moves up beside one of the archers. The man nods curtly in response to Vayine's words. Perhaps the defenders have determined that the undead is the immediate threat?
Tishe' flies over the Rattledam leader and the vampiric shadowdancer, dropping her dagger with the Daylight spell as she passes overhead. Once she gets close to the pool of Woldsblood, Tishe' casts a spell to protect some of it from any falling rocks.
Flea darts in and attacks the vampire. Her sword strikes true but the undead's nature prevents the rogue from using her sneak attack.
Olaf heads towards the other room. He gets close, but not quite all the way, to the leader of the Rattledam defenders and the vampire shadowdancer.
Rattledam
The leader unleashes a series of strikes at the vampire, hoping to wound or disable the creature. None of the strikes land, but it keeps the vampire occupied. After this, the leader steps away to allow his companions to fire at the undead. The leader remains on his feet.
R1 gets to his feet and fires one arrow at the vampire. The arrow strikes but barely harms the vampire. For once, this Rattledam defender doesn't fall.
R2 steps a bit closer and releases a barrage of arrows at the vampire. Only one strikes and it also barely seems to harm the vampire.
The first dwarf (D1) gets to his feet and moves close to his leader. This time, he remains on his feet.
The second dwarf charges the vampiric shadowdancer and misses with the swing of his waraxe. Then, to make matters worse, the dwarf slips and falls right at the feet of the vampire.
P1 also charges the vampire to put himself between the Ga'alian and his leader. The paladin swings his longsword just as he steps on a piece of rubble and falls to the floor. The vampire now has two fallen opponents to choose from.
The other paladin (P3) heads toward his companions before slipping and falling to the floor.
Ga'alian
The vampire shadowdancer glances downwards at the two foes at its feet, seeming to compare and determine which is the daintiest morsel. It strikes down at the paladin but all three attacks miss. It does stay on it's feet, though.

Gilan pops the top on the potion and downs it in one chug, but takes the time to stow the potion bottle back inside the pack. He shifts slightly to come closer to the room that contains the woldsblood and the area that they had been sent to protect. With little he can do he once again pulls out another potion and makes ready to drink it down as well. Luckily he is still able to keep his footing and does not get hit by anymore big rocks. "How are we doing?" He calls out to his pack, feeling slightly better with the healing and should be feeling even better in a few more.

Grymash turns from the fallen blackguard and moves quickly into the other room. Unfortunately, he had to turn a corner to enter the chamber with the Woldsblood and he was unable to close and attack the vampire. DM Note -- I placed Grymash fairly close to the vampire rather than actually moving right next. If you want it different, please tell me.
Vayine gets to his feet and heals himself by activating a Tattoo.
Tishe' uses a wand to send four magical missiles unerringly at the vampire.
Trellus flies deeper into the Woldsblood chamber. Once in position, the human cleric casts a spell to send a searing ray of light glancing harmlessly off the floor near the vampire.
Gilan gulps down a potion and draws another.
Flea stabs at the vampire but hits only once.
Olaf
Rattledam
The leader bounds away from the vampire, using the intervention of Flea and the other members of the Bloodpack to create some breathing room. Once he is out of the way, the leader of the defenders gestures to his companions.
The first archer (R1) stands and moves into the chamber, keeping close to the wall. For a change, the archer keeps his feet. The second archer (R2) does not fire but also moves towards a wall of the chamber.
The standing paladin (P3) moves next to his leader.
The paladin that has fallen (P1) at the vampire's feet tries to move away, allowing the vampire to attack. The vampire lands a great attack and staggers the paladin. Instead of attacking, the paladin moves towards his leader and then falls to the floor.
The fallen dwarf (D2) also tries to move away and the vampire swings again, hitting the dwarf. The dwarf moves towards one of the rangers but the shaking from the earthquake causes him to fall.
The other dwarf (D1) moves beside the other archer, keeping his feet despite the shaking of the room.
Clearly, the Bloodpack is being left to deal with the threat of the vampire.
Ga'alians
The vampire shadowdancer grabs at Flea, allowing the rogue to attack.
FLEA -- Take an Attack of Opportunity
It's first grab slips from the rogue's armor. Vampire -- Touch Attack hits TOUCH AC 26, Grapple check = 14 (natural 1, failure)
The vampire tries again, though, and the second attack manages to grapple the gnome rogue. Vampire -- 2nd Touch Attack hits TOUCH AC 17 (possibly a hit) Grapple check = 19 (probably beats Flea's Grapple DC) Unarmed damage = 16
The vampire shadowdancer moves close to Flea and wraps both arms around the gnome, holding the gnome up as a shield against the other members of the Bloodpack and the Defenders of Rattledam.

Downing the newest potion that he pulled out, he feels the warmth of healing again enter his body and sighs. Despite the rumbling of the ground and the other problems he is still able to stay on his feet. Making his way towards the room with the Woldsblood he takes in the situation and tries to figure out his move.
The vampire trying to capture or capturing Flea in her grasp sets his blood to boiling. She is more than pack, she is his sister in everyway but blood. He accepted her into his home and swore to himself that he would protect her. His eyes narrow, the animal part of him slowly boiling to the surface as well.

Flea arrives with Tishe' and thinks of how to respond.
Olaf moves closer and removes a wand to use as a weapon against the vampire.
Trellus casts another Searing Light spell. The cleric misses again, this time even worse than the last.
Grymash charges the vampire, swinging his mighty axe. Unfortunately, the vampire avoids the blow.
Rattledam
The Rattledam defenders keep their distance, allowing the Bloodpack to deal with the vampire.
The leader easily keeps his feet.
The first paladin (P1) climbs to his feet and slowly makes his way to the wall beside the leader. A tremble caused by the earthquake trips him again.
The other remaining paladin (P3) keeps his feet, sword out and ready to defend himself and his leader.
The two archers keep their feet, too.
The first dwarf (D1) keeps his feet beside the archer. The second dwarf (D2) stands up and makes his way towards the other ranger. He gets only partway before falling again.

Much like the animal forms that he takes, there is the sound of a low growl already coming from his throat as he circles slowly around the vampire lady. He does not move very far as his form starts to ripple and soon is replaced by a large black cat.
Crouched low to the ground, his tail whips back and forth in aggitation. Yellow eyes have narrowed to mere slits and he looks rather angry even in this form.

Tishe' casts a spell and fires two beams of fire at the vampire. Only the second one strikes but the theurge has the satisfaction of seeing it burn a deep hole into the vampire's body.
Vayine cannot stay on his feet.
Grymash swings his axe at the vampire and nearly hits it.
Olaf triggers his wand and then tries to touch the vampire with it. He can't do it, however, but the healing energy is still ready to use.
Rattledam Defenders
The defenders keep back, possibly waiting to see how the Bloodpack do against the vampire or maybe preparing to attack themselves.
The leader remains on his feet beside the wall. His eyes watch the Bloodpack as they try to deal with the vampire.
The first paladin (P1) is tripped by a small piece of fallen stone but the second (P3) is able to stay upright. That defender nudges the leader and nods towards the pool of Woldsblood across the room. It is immediately apparent that the dome of ice covering the pool has been badly cracked by the last fall of debris.
The two archers keep their feet and so do the dwarves, for a change.
Ga'alian
The vampire swings again at Grymash, catching the half-orc in a vital spot with the first swing. None of the other punches land but the damage has been done. Despite the trembling and poor footing, the vampire is so nimble that it appears to be dancing rather than in any danger of falling. Vampire -- First Smash hits AC 33 (threat), confirmed AC 26, 24 damage and level drain Vampire -- 2nd Smash misses AC 20 Vampire -- 3rd smash misses AC 21 Grymash -- takes another two (2) negative levels -- cumulative effect is now: -4 to skills; -4 to attacks; -4 to saves; -20 hps (not absorbed by Stoneskin), -4 levels for purposes of level-based effects

Getting back on his feet (standard action), Vayine moves forward to get within striking distance of the vampire. (move action to 5 feet away from vampire). He knows he'll be able to get at least one strike before his feet fall out from under him.
Also, closer to Trellus, the suspicious drow is able to growl under his breath at Trellus. "The Rattledammers are waiting for us to slay the Ga'alian before they start killing us again."

Tishe' sees the vampire is very nimble, but her spell caused some damage, and so hopes to aim better this time. Using the Pearl of Power on her wooden armring, she recalls the spell she used scant seconds ago. Pointing at the vampire, two more Scorching Rays fly out, both missing!
Even though the Ice Dome is all but destroyed, Tishe' is hoping the Resilient Sphere poised above the pool of Woldsblood will protect it from being destroyed. "And if the Woldsblood goes, all Rattledam could be sucked into the Lands of Rest!"

"I'm not quite ready, Trellus," he says to their blonde haired leader, as he promptly falls on the ground (balance check of 7).

Okay folks ... I sent an e-mail allowing everyone to re-wind this turn.
The scroll that Trellus wants to read requires 3 (three) rounds to complete. Rather than simply ruling that Trellus stands / hovers around for that time doing nothing else, I've given him the opportunity to do over. Since he posted first, everyone else gets the same opportunity.
And a note to players : I'm assuming that you are adding the bonuses for flanking, charging, etc. and I'm not adding those when I determine whether an attack lands. If the bonus applies, mention it and add it to the attack bonus.
I apologize for missing the effect of Prayer on the last turn. It didn't matter, but I'll consider it for this and subsequent turns.

Vayine closes with the vampire, ready to attack.
Tishe' retrieves a wand and triggers it to send magical missiles at the vampire.
Gilan charges the vampire but cannot hit it solidly. Fighting the vampire is like fighting smoke.
Trellus tries to strike the vampire once more with his wand but still cannot hit it. In response, he steps back and draws his sickle once more. Then, of course, he trips on a piece of loose rock and falls to the floor.
Grymash concentrates on protecting himself and tries to stand. It's enough, though, to keep the vampire from hitting the half-orc when he stands.
Flea triggers a wand and sends magical missiles at the vampire. Clearly, the vampire has no spell resistance to protect it since the missiles strike with full force. As the last missile strikes, the vampire turns insubstantial and slowly rises like mist or vapour. The vapour still roughly holds the vampire's shape as it moves towards the door into the Woldsblood chamber.
Rattledam Defenders
The defenders remain next to the walls. No one can tell whether they want defensible positions if a fight occurs or simply to get as far from the Woldsblood as possible. The leader makes a gesture and the two archers lower their bows.
With the walls behind them for support, the defenders don't have to worry about falling.
After seeing the vampire fade and turn vaporous, the leader steps forward and speaks to the Bloodpack.
"Well fought! But tell us why you have come to the Well, and tell us quickly or else we will fight once more!"

Tishe' flies over to the crack on the container and tries to assess the damage. Is it cracked on the stone or on the glass portion of the pool container?
Trying one thing first, the plain-faced woman places a hand on the crack. "Mend", she commands. ........................

The leader of the Defenders scans the room, looking from the panther to the shuddering half-orc and at all the others. The leader seems to be listening although it is difficult to tell how much consideration is being given to what the Bloodpack say.
The leader responds to the words of Olaf, Yanosh and Vayine. The Bloodpack see some reaction among the other Defenders to the mention of Galafar, but the leader is unreadable.
"This is the Heart of Rattledam and we were charged with defending it. We might thank you for your aid but it now time for all of you to go. I don't know about this ... Child ... that you mention, but it is no matter. Leave this chamber. The Council, including Galafar, will decide how to respond to your transgressions."
When he notices Tishe' moving towards the Pool, the leader stiffens and shouts.
"You! Move away from there!". The leader turns his head slightly and shouts to the archers, "If she or anyone else touches the Heart, shoot them!"
In fact, it might not be a bad time to move out since the rocks continue to fall and the tremors still shake the chamber. Tishe' glances overhead to see a large piece of loose rock on the verge of falling. The piece is wide and thick, larger than her sphere and sure to hit the Pool when it falls. Tishe's spell does nothing to heal the cracks in the ice dome. Still, there might be something happening ....

The blond cleric of Domi looks at each of the defenders. Taking the time to take each one into his sight. "The manfri told us to come. They told us how to get here. Do you trust them?" He lets the question hang for a couple seconds.
"We've come to find the Child, protect it, and bring it to them. So it'd be truly shady of you to tell us if there's anything in here besides that <waves a hand at the Well>. The Wold's changing dude. Its too late to stop it, so be a blackhand, and help us out."

Tishe' will back off from the Pool, flying backwards in order to try and reduce tension, but she just can't do nothing while the stone threatens to destroy the pool, and by extension, all of Rattledam or more!
Raising her hands with just a pinch of spider web in them, she casts a Web at the ceiling, hoping against hope that the strands can keep it up for a minute longer.

Gilan cannot believe the turn of events that are happening at this very moment. They need to find the child and get it out of here. They have to deal with this stupid pack somehow as well, hopefully without having to kill them.
Glancing to Trellus he watches as he tries to reason with them. His own mind is already racing with what he could do and none of it is a viable option. Maybe one of his spells but that would just bury the well and maybe all of them as well. Have to find the kid and now. That is the only thing that might turn this whole deal around. With that thought he starts to use his nose to figure out if there are any new smells in the cave that he cannot place to those already here.

Grymash doesn't give up on the vampire. He holds up his double axe, presenting the blood-soaked, closed eye holy symbol molded into one of its two blades. Some of the Bloodpack attempt to defuse the situation with the Defenders, explaining the task that they were given. Trellus' explanation of the dangers of Woldsblood is met with a shrug and the leader barely glances at Yanosh.
"You don't have to explain the dangers of the Heart to those who have defended it, tended it and observed it. For years and decades, for some of us."
"As for the Manfri, they are not of Rattledam and definitely not of the Council. Unless you can tell me which Council member authorized your visit, we will have to expel you. Even if it means our lives, either being buried here or consumed by the Woldsblood."
Still, the leader seems to relax slightly when Tishe' flies away from the pool. Both dwarves nod in agreement with Tishe' assesment of the condition of the roof over the pool so there is no attack when the theurge fills the area with webbing.
Gilan is considering his options while prowling the chamber. The panther's acute sense of smell does not reveal anything new - just the familiar scents of his companions, the smells that come the defenders, the cooling blood of the Ga'alians that were defeated and the dusty, cloying scent of whatever exotic spices were used to preserve the bodies of the mummies. The sickly, somewhat nauseating scent of the vampire is fading as it moves farther away in the tunnels.
A strong tremor shakes the chamber, causing more rocks to fall and threatening to knock the Bloodpack and the defenders to the floor.

The tremor also dislodges the rock. Tishe' webbing holds it so that it falls slowly, gradually pulling the webbing from the supporting walls and ceiling. In turn, this brings a shower of smaller rocks tumbling to the floor of the chamber. After what seems like an eternity the large slab of rock hits the sphere, tips over and slowly slams into the ice dome in slow motion.
The rock teeters there for a moment before a loud .... CRACK .... sounds throughout the chamber. The rock drops downward, pulling the last of the webbing from the walls and causing a small fountain of Woldsblood to spurt upwards. The Woldsblood instantly dissolves any of the webbing and ice that it contacts, eating the magically created substances away until the pool is visible to all in the chamber.
The defenders look to their leader, waiting for any command. The leader seems to be caught on the horns of indecision, wavering between saying something or acting himself.
The tremor may have signaled the end of the earthquake, or whatever it was. The silence is more profound after the prolonged sound of falling rock and squeal of rock being twisted beyond its capacity to resist. Everyone can now see the glow coming from the pool of Woldsblood with veins of the glowing substance spreading across the floor of the chamber.
Then the rock is heaved upwards, pushed up and out of the pool to fall upon the floor.

OOC - I don't quite get that last part. The rock that tore from the roof is pushed back out of the pool and onto the floor? or there's a glowing rock in the pool that is pushed out onto the floor? Is the glowing whatever still in the pool?

Gilan glances to the now problematic pool of woldsblood and grimaces. Though he has been cursed, of sorts, by Gargul...he does not want to test the theory of him not being able to die. He slowly back away from the splash and watches for other signs of life.
His voice is a throaty growl, more snarl than he had intended. "We have got to get the child and get out of here." Glancing to the other pack he cannot help but give what his pack would take as a smile, but they might not. "None of us need to die here today." He glances around and then shakes his head. "Let us gather what we can from the bodies for a start." He does not feel that he needs to add a...lets be fast about it.

Olaf spies the slowly spreading pool of Woldsblood, then the rock that has come to settle upon the ground. He sheathes his sickle, then pulls out some clay, molding it absently while examining the rock. Keeping his distance, he focuses his attention on the object, looking to see if the 'child aborning' might be hiding within it somehow. [search 15] As for the spreading Woldsblood, he says to Trellus, "I can make a lip o' stone 'round the woldsblood, 'fore it spreads much more. Yah think I should?"
"Here, Yanosh! Lean on me," volunteers Flea as she moves closer to the unsteady dwarf. "Mayhap, what you really need is a gnomish to steady you up!" (Aid Another?)
"You think that well-thing is gonna' birth the baby?" Flea asks her pack mates when the thing spits out the rock. Flea had seen what a valcano could do*, and wonders if the God of Life and Death was going to create something out of the Woldsblood he always seemed so fired up about.
While Flea waits with her pack, she studies the cavern overhead (Search=29 ) looking for trouble.

The Bloodpack and the defenders of Rattledam both consider what has just happened. Some of them, of course, are watching the pool from the floor. Yanosh and Grymash can both manage to pick themselves up since the tremors seem to have stopped. Those with experience in such things realize that this is either a good thing or bad thing, depending on whether the quake has ended or is silently building strength for further destruction.
While Trellus is considering what to do, Gilan begins assessing the fallen bodies of their enemies for what can be salvaged. Each of the Ga'alians was carrying weapons and armor as was the fallen defender. Of course, it would take time and effort to remove and collect all of the treasure and it's very probable that the defenders would object to him taking anything from their fallen comrade. DM Note - Consider that stripping each body will take 1 round (6 seconds per item) and most of the bodies carry multiple items.
Olaf and Flea are studying the pool of Woldsblood both for signs of further activity and for methods of halting the flow. Each notices that the Woldsblood seems to be slowly spreading from the pool although they cannot tell if the shadow substance is flowing from somewhere or merely returning to what ever level it had before being enclosed by the glass.
Then, as they watch, the surface of the pool begins to rise. Slowly at first and then increasing, but the glowing vsicid surface of the Woldsblood is surely rising upwards. In a matter of moments, the distortion is easily noticed by everyone in the room. But it continues, climbing higher and higher until it would be above Flea's head were she to dare standing beside it.
Then, when some critical point is reached, the Woldsblood thins and parts to run downwards back into the pool and reveal an opalescent object that sits suspended on the surface of the Woldsblood. The colors dancing over the surface of the object make it seem like a pearl, if a pearl could be an ellipsoid over a foot in diameter and nearly three feet long. The Woldsblood retreats and it is obvious that the object is being pushed upwards by something that remains within the Woldsblood. The object rises higher into the chamber, the arms of some great being parting the surface of the Woldsblood to lift it higher. The Woldsblood clings so closely to the arms, no longer running downwards, that it is impossible to tell whether there is flesh and blood under the Woldsblood or some construct.
Finally, when the object is well clear of the Woldsblood, the head and shoulders of a giant form emerge from the pool. After blinking, the giant opens it's eyes and turns to look at the Bloodpack and the defenders. The defenders immediately drop to their knees and lower their heads, refusing to look upon the deity. The Bloodpack, though, recognize the embodiment of Gargul, Lord of Death and Life.
That doesn't make it any easier, though, to withstand the full attention of the deity. Even before Gargul speaks, the Bloodpack are shaken by the presence and power of the only God that sits with both the Gods of the Wold and Testing.

Then Gargaul speaks to the Bloodpack, motioning negligently towards the defenders as he does so. Each of the defenders prostrates themselves in response to the unspoken communication.
"You have succeeded."
"I thank you, and bless all of you."

"Oh, Light," Trellus murmurs as the Woldsblood slowly begins rising. The cleric hovers, captivated, as the scene plays out before him. Gargul is revealed in all his glory, and the blond man convulsively swallows in nervous expectation. Even with his past experiences and mental training, the sight of the Lord of Death and Life nearly brings him to his knees.
"I thank you, and bless all of you."
Relief quickly plays across Trellus' face.
"Will one of you bear the Child?"
aaand, now its gone again.
Trellus deactivates his boots, floats down to the floor of the cavern, and drops to one knee. "Lord Gargul," the cleric of Domi greets the god respectfully. "One of the manfri bid us to bring the Child to them, that she may care for it. Is this your also your wish?'

Taking Fleas hand Yanosh stands and looks around. Seeing the thing in the Woldsblood rising Yanosh stands in awe. When he lays his eyes on the physical manifistation of his God Yanosh falls to his knees in supplication. "My Lord Gargul."

With a simple shrug of both his mind and body, he is soon standing once again as his human self. Glancing down at his hands he feels slightly incomplete and sighs with the thought that he has come to like his alternate forms better.
Glancing back to the borning area he takes in the sight of Gargul with more interest than he would have normally for anything else. Already on his knee by one of their enemies bodies, he lets his hands trail over the things of interest picking it as clean as he can. Still he has the presence to dip his head to the Lord of Life and Death. "As a brother of nature, it is my pleasure to help out in the balance my Lord." He remembers his last time before this god and sighs at the suttle discurtouesy that they had shown.
Still he will allow Trellus to take care of the larger matters, especially since he is not sure about this carrying the child thing. It sounds too much like being pregnant to him and he wants to experience a lot of things, just not that. In fact his face grimaces at the very prospect and he gives silent praise for the females that do it.
He will also not bother the bodies of the defenders that fell during the fight...that is not his concern, though he will stop if Gargul seems to be taking offense. Of course he is ever aware of the goings on in the cave and listens intently.

Shocked is Tishe' that she once again sees the form of Gargul, and she absently rubs the tattoo on the back of her right hand remembering her last encounter. But her shock only allows her careless tongue to begin speaking without thought and she watches the Grey Lord's magnificence.
"Gargul's back, that means Grymash, Yanosh, and Vayine's spells will work again!"
and, "The Chaospack must have succeeded."
and, "Let Grymash care for the Child. Only fair since it comes to us from Gargul."
and finally, she gathers her thoughts for what she really wants to ask. Lighting beside Trellus and taking to her own knees, she looks up at the amazingly powerful being, her question wondering only. "Gray Lord", she begins, "when last we met, you forbade some of the Bloodpack ever to see your realm. Have we weaved enough on the loom to see what it is we have lost? Will you restore my companions to your ultimate blessing?"

Shaken and stirred by the site, Flea casts her eyes downward, as her knees knock.

The bard-in-training's mind turns to an ancient story of a virgin maiden asked to bear the child of a God, and what befell her, her husband, and the child...and what that child grew to mean to mankind...
"Uh, the child is a-born or still needs to be a-borning?" she asks, wondering what the giant god of life and death wanted to do with the egg...and hoping a 'mother' isn't needed.
Witnessing Yanosh's devotion, the rogue is convinced to do her part. Maybe this way she will redeem herself?
"I suppose we could put it in my HHHaversack?" she volunteers, peeping up from between her lashes. "I could be, like, it's mum," she says, "an' Yanosh could be, like, it's dad?"
Flea kneels down, next to the devout dwarf and moves slowly (and painfully forward) "I'll bear the child...if you will it..." she humbly volunteers, hoping whatever she has to do won't hurt too much.

Shying away from the Woldsblood, Olaf manages to keep his calm in the face of imminent doom and the powerful voice of a God [will save 22 vs DC 20]. Listening to the requests of this great being, his jaw mirror's Trellus's, dropping in uncertain shock at the price to be paid by some member of the pack.
Watching Flea step forward, he grimaces, spits to the side, and bows low to the God in front. He slowly steps up behind Flea, saying sotto voce, "I got yer back, Flea, as yer need." Otherwise he waits for his long-time companion Yanosh, a true devotee to the God of Death.
