Rest and Recovery (DM JohnP)
Wednesday November 4th, 2009 10:44:59 PM

The Bloodpack lay down for the night to rest and recover from their battles. Once morning dawns and the spellcasters have completed their devotions or memorization, they begin discussing how to get everyone home. Gilan could, if he chose, take some people with him right now. But not everyone. And that might not be a good thing.

Tishe' (AC 12 HP 77 /77)
Wednesday November 4th, 2009 11:38:12 PM

Tishe' is ready to help in any way possible, but can't cast the spell to follow Gilan. "I think we need to walk back together.", she suggests.

Either way Tishe' is fine. She prepares to move out with a bounce in her step!

Grymash
Thursday November 5th, 2009 12:53:26 AM

Grymash has mixed emotions. Though he trusts his gods wisdom with bringing Sargrass to the Sargrass. He didn't answer the young god. He didn't feel it necessary. As a god child, he should learn to glean such things without having to ask a mortal. Grymash cant help but feel like a father, just a little bit. However, he seems to miss the connection he had with the child when he carried him. A clearness of thought. A greater capacity for wisdom. He doesn't wish to speak and remain quiet. He hopes he doesn't lose that lucidity now that Sargrass is on his own. He mutters to himself, trying to pronounce his words like he did while under the influence of Sargrass. "Dat...dat...thaat...thaat, that be, err is the ... that is the ta, to ... dat is be the...ahh piggie dumps!!"

Gilan [HP: 136/140 - AC: 26] [wildshape: ] [endure elements, longstrider]
Thursday November 5th, 2009 10:53:11 AM

Slate for removal once talked about. :)

I could change up my other choice of spell for 6th and get us all there in short order if people would like to get back home?

Trellus
Thursday November 5th, 2009 12:05:26 PM

Trellus brightens as Tishe and Gilan both relay that they know the direction to OddHolme.

"We're shady then," he exclaims. "I'll just use a Wind Walk spell for the rest. Tishe will need to come with me to point the way. My spell travels at 60 miles an hour, so let me know how far you think it is, I'll take Tishe, Gry, and Olaf with me. You take the rest and time your spell so you arrive about the same time we do."

Falmar AC: 25 (26 with Sword ) HP 69/69 (Endure Elements, Aura of Courage, ),
Thursday November 5th, 2009 4:08:37 PM

Falmar continues to pace around the clearing....absently tracing the Mark of Gargul through his armor...
[b] " Have we completed the task that Gargul sent us on ? I feel that in some ways we have, but others.... how much does the birth of Sargrass affect Ga'al's plans ? and.... can we assume that the one the Manfri killed was a Necromancer? And is one enough? There has to be more coming our way."

Falmar waits white the travel plans are worked out, visibly eager to be heading back.

Plan and Prepare (DM JohnP)
Thursday November 5th, 2009 10:34:33 PM

The Bloodpack continue to deliberate about how to return home. Some of them have a chance to deliberate about what they have learned and experienced during the journey to the centre of the Sargrass.

This seems like a nice day for rest and preparation. If nothing else, Gilan can change his spells next morning and take everyone back to Oddholme in two trips.

Tishe' (AC 12 HP 77 /77)  d20+22=34 ; d20+14=29 ; d20+15=16 ;
Thursday November 5th, 2009 11:19:34 PM

Tishe' is content to stay and rest an extra day and be transported via plants from Gilan.

In the meantime, she makes a careful circuit of the old dead area to determine what may be happening to the land.

She also spends much of the day weaving blankets, sleeping mats, and walls for the children who will be staying at the Sargrass holy site. "Are you sure you can weave on your own out here?" she asks uncertainly. After her first attempt is completely mediocre, Tishe' concentrates on the rest, taking her time to do it right.

Gilan [HP: 136/140 - AC: 26] [wildshape: ] [endure elements, longstrider]
Friday November 6th, 2009 5:30:56 PM

Seeming to be decided that they will wait till morrow, Gilan goes about his inspection of the area. He casts a commune with nature and then goes about locating difference points of interestes around the area. Of major importance are food sources, water sources and dangerous creatures of all types.

The following morning he will go through his morning prayers as usual and then start up the process of getting the group home in record time. Most of his other time is spent helping out the kids that are going to be staying here in this holy place to keep it safe. He will help in building somekind of shelter and make sure that they have access to food and water.

Back Home (DM JohnP)
Sunday November 8th, 2009 10:38:52 PM

Gilan shuttles the Bloodpack back to the small group of trees that he has created at Oddholme. Everyone is briefly disoriented by the sudden shift from place to place but the familiar sounds and sights of Oddholme more than make up for it.

It's only been a couple days since they were last here so nothing seems to have changed. Oh, the refugees from Rattledam have all been settled into available rooms or suites by Ayreon and Murdock so things seem a bit quieter. But as they go back to their own places, the Bloodpack realize that there is still so much to do. Of course, they can now go to the Catacombs to sell off the goods recovered from the undead Ga'alians and purchase new supplies.

Trellus
Monday November 9th, 2009 1:23:54 PM

Trellus works to give his quarters a 'settled in' feel, while simultaneously checking in on the refugees. Perhaps some leaders have emerged.

The cleric asks Tishe to cash in the gear brought back from the undead whatevers. He can always use some more coin.

Gilan [HP: / - AC: ] [wildshape: ] [endure elements, longstrider]
Monday November 9th, 2009 6:59:07 PM

Gilan's first priority was to see that the refugees had settled in more. His next stop was to check up on the ones that he had left in control of the prairie pigs and blind swallows he had brought in. They should have been working with them and keeping them in good shape. Supplementing the meat that could be gotten from the prairie pigs and the eggs from the blind swallows, it would be a start.

Later in the day, he could be found in his small garden working like he normally does. A crop of different things growing that would be useful to the group, from foodstuffs to herbs.

Grymash
Monday November 9th, 2009 7:49:46 PM

Grymash is glad to finally make it back to Oddholme. A home cooked meal sounds most appealing, and a nights sleep on his own bed. He wastes no time in achieving this goal.

Time for Things (DM JohnP)
Monday November 9th, 2009 10:34:48 PM

The Bloodpack take the time to settle into Oddholme, adopting the routines that might some day become a daily occurence. That far off future day when they are no longer adventuring.

Grymash quickly finds his own quarters and settles in, shaking the dust from the bed and scrounging together what he needs for a meal.

Gilan returns to his garden and herd, checking to see what has happened in the last couple days. He is pleasantly surprised to see how well the three refugees are doing in learning how to handle the pigs and swallows.

Trellus helps Tishe' assemble the loot for eventual sale. After his devotions to Domi, the cleric spends some time among the refugees and learns that the only person who has so far stepped into a leadership role is his brother.

DM Note - Loot posted to Catacombs. I'm still working on some development stuff and we'll see how that goes.

In the interim, can everyone post whether they have updated their character sheets with the recent experience?

Tishe' (AC 12 HP 77 /77)
Tuesday November 10th, 2009 1:30:46 PM

Tishe' accepts the job to turn loot into cash, but has completely lost the weave on where and how much. Once she gets that straightened, she is off to the Catacombs.

Falmar AC: 25 (26 with Sword ) HP 69/69 (Endure Elements, Aura of Courage, ),
Tuesday November 10th, 2009 3:18:15 PM

Falmar settles into the room he was placed in when he first arrived in Oddholme. Sparse but functional. He pulls out some of the grasses he has been collecting and arranges them on a small table.

Falmar asks the other members of the 'Pack if they know if there are representatives from the WLA or Star Mages guild anywhere in the area... expecting the answer no... unless there is a portal...

He then goes to find out if Trellus has already identified the Loot. If not, Falmar will dedicate himself for the next couple days to identifying what they found.

Grymash
Tuesday November 10th, 2009 7:24:31 PM

Grymash is easy when it comes to accommodations. He's never has been a clean freak, but he wonders what all the ex-Rattledam refugees have been doing with themselves since they moved in. Apparently not doing any cleaning for their heroic saviors. Of course, Grymash certainly doesn't need to be waited on, but it would have been nice. Oh well, he plans to spend a few extra hours in slumbering bliss.

Trellus
Tuesday November 10th, 2009 8:13:01 PM

[OOC-sheet updated. SteveK, can you do loot? I'm swamped

Trellus grins at Falmar. "Star Mages? I'm not sure. WLA would be me, I guess. Some of us got recruited on a trip to the coast, but we ain't seen anyone else since."

Gilan [HP: / - AC: ] [wildshape: ] [endure elements, longstrider]
Tuesday November 10th, 2009 9:23:39 PM

Gilan comes upon Falmar and Trellus talking of Star Mages and WLA in turn. "Not sure but I think that Tishe' might have joined the Star Mages." Glancing to Trellus he shrugs. "I suppose that we could run you through the paces if you are in need of further training as he do that sort of thing for each other." If he remembers right, they are all members and they pull together to further each others training as needed.

"Wanted to let you know that the refugees that I put in charge of the prairie pigs and blind swallows are working out really well." He is rather proud of them and if they have the time he plans to start a larger garden area inside the dome as well. "Do you mind if I take that large section of dome that is kind of overgrown still and turn it into a gardens? It would allow us to grow extra food and with a little help from Mother the produce should be rather nice." His grin told you that it was going to be rather useful to have a pair of druids around to help with the growth of crops.

With the help of his newest ranchers, he will see about gathering more prairie pigs and more blind swallows as well. The other thing on his list of things to do, seeing as Trellus will most likely not object to fields, is to gather a number of different grass types while he is out for food as well.

[Character sheet updated, except for 2 WLA points that I still need to devote from last level up. I did not notice it till I was going back through stuff.]

Time for Things (DM JohnP)
Tuesday November 10th, 2009 10:18:44 PM

Everyone else keeps busy with their new activities. Grymash can, if he wishes, find one of the refugees who is willing to do some light househould cleaning. Especially if there's some gold available. Gilan is continuing with his plans for feeding all of the occupants of Oddholme.

Falmar discusses with the other members of the 'Pack about how to access training out here in the wilds of Sargrass.

Tishe' (AC 12 HP 77 /77)
Tuesday November 10th, 2009 10:43:25 PM

Tishe' gathers the equipment and hops to the Catacombs.

"Falmar", she tells the newest Bloodpack member, "we've also found portals to a WLA and Star Mage Guild outpost here. I know since I'm members in both organizations. I used to go to Hook City for the Star Mage Guild there until it was blown up." She puts a considering look on. "I think our friends the Children of Chaos had something to do with that..."

OOC: DM, I'm assuming the portal location for the WLA and SMG for role-playing purposes. If I'm in error, slap me around a bit :-)

Falmar AC: 25 (26 with Sword ) HP 69/69 (Endure Elements, Aura of Courage, ),
Wednesday November 11th, 2009 1:10:24 PM

Falmar decides to wait on visiting the LOA until he has the ability to pay his dues....

Deciding to spend his day doing something worthwhile Falmar heads to the overgrown portion of the Dome to see if Gilan could use his help building the garden.

Gilan [HP: / - AC: ] [wildshape: ] [endure elements, longstrider]
Wednesday November 11th, 2009 6:23:53 PM

Gilan glances to Falmar as he heads in the same direction that he is moving and smiles. "I take it you are wanting to help?" He is more than happy to have the extra help and it will give him a chance to get to know the new guy. "So, what exactly brought you to the Plains?"

Before heading towards the dome in question, he will make a side trip to see if there are any farmers among the refugees. If he can find a few that are or are at least willing to learn, he will gather them to come with him as well.

The dome is overgrown as he had suspected and it had not been a critical area so it had been left. Gathering what tools they had for it, he went to work on cleaning out the weeds and stuff the hard way. As he worked he talked to Falmar about this and that, getting to know the man. He also gave little directions to those that he might have gotten to help them.

Trellus

Trellus figures its time he got some honest work in, and joins Gilan and Falmar.

Time for Things (DM JohnP)
Wednesday November 11th, 2009 11:08:18 PM

The Bloodpack take the time to work on the gardens and paddocks around Oddholme. Of course, while that is happening Tishe' has been going the Catacombs to sell the loot. The theurge comes back with a sack containing 74,235 gold and 5 silver.

Let the shopping begin!

DM Apology - Still working on the next module and content, too. I'll make sure that the Catacombs go quickly for everyone.

Yanosh
Thursday November 12th, 2009 12:08:26 PM

After secluding himself in his quarters for the last few days since their return Yanosh looks around and breaths deeply. He has a clean and fresh kept look to himself more of what he looked like when he first met the Bloodpack. Dressed in his clerical robes Yanosh goes to find the rest of the 'Pack.

Tishe' (AC 12 HP 77 /77)
Thursday November 12th, 2009 12:43:42 PM

Tishe' has the coin divided into eight bags and hands them out, one each to Grymash, Gilan, Trellus, Tishe', Falmar, Yanosh, Flea, and Olaf. The remainder that didn't come out even (3 gold and 5 silver) she gives to Aeryon and Murdock for the alms box of OddHolme.

The mystic spends the rest of the day in complete relaxation; eating a little, reading a little to Wart, sunbathing on her balcony over the OddHolme main gathering area listening to the sussurus of voices below. Ahhh!!!

Falmar AC: 25 (26 with Sword ) HP 69/69 (Endure Elements, Aura of Courage, ),
Thursday November 12th, 2009 7:42:03 PM

Falmar is impressed by the condition of the Dome under the growth that is cleared away. Bit by Bit revealing a sizable area that would make a respectable garden eventually. He chats with Gilan while they clear the detritus.
" I came to the Plains to discover what I could about my Mother's family.. She never spoke much about her life here, tales mostly to keep a young boy properly afraid of the wilds and the dark. Fables about creatures that would come over the Wall....careless children who spill buckets of water.... I don't really know why I never asked about anything else..., and by the time I thought enough to ask her, as tishe'
would say " her thread was cut ". So now...I suppose I can start asking around, but I'm not sure where to start or where we are exactly anyway.. HA!....I don't suppose there any walled towns in the Sargrass ?"

Falmar runs his hand along an old fountain that was previously hidden beneath the overgrowth. Thinking about how much must have changed to have once flaunted so much water....the insects alone....
" How long have these Domes been here ?"

Falmar Plans to head for the portal to the WLA in the morning since he now has enough to afford his new dues and rank....

Gilan [HP: / - AC: ] [wildshape: ] [endure elements, longstrider]
Thursday November 12th, 2009 10:07:09 PM

"I was not born or raised here, but my family came for a trip here once. It was actually to setup trade with the city of Rattledam, but a Rathom swamped the grassship and swallowed most everyone whole. I was rescued and brought to the town with amnesia for the longest time." His face clouds over as he remembers some things from his past and then lets them pass just as quickly. "I have lived here every since."

Smiling he glances to Falmar and shrugs. "I have seen no cities with only walls, except for a coastal village we went to a few years back but they were not actually inside the grass. Though in many ways, the domes are walls for the cities here." Glancing to the fountain that was uncovered he moves over to run a hand over it with loving care. He would have to plumb its depths and see if there was still water here.

Shaking his head to return to current matters he shrugs. "I am not sure how long the dome for Rattledam was around. This one, if we have interpreted something rights has been here a very long time. This particular one is even shielded by magic of somekind to hide it from outside viewing, though I am not sure it works against magic. The domes themselves keep out the insects so open water inside is no danger it is only outside that you have to worry." He explains anything else that Falmar might ask before retiring for the day and seeking quiet time once again.

More Delays (DM JohnP)
Thursday November 12th, 2009 11:07:12 PM

The Bloodpack complete the sale of the loot and distribute an equal share of 9279 gold, with a bit for the support of the widows and orphans among the refugees. The Bloodpack spend most of their time acquainting the newest member with life on the Sargrass, not to mention what they know of Oddholme.

Things are relatively quiet when a small delegation of the refugees approach them just after the evening meal. The women and men look to one another before an older man steps forward to speak for them.

"Ahh ... coming here was good, don't get us wrong. But ... ahh ... your friends have helped a lot. But we need someone to be the leader. We're not good working together ... not yet, anyway."

"Some think that a leader should be chosen. Or all of you tell us who to listen to. Don't matter much to us. But you should do it soon."

Yanosh
Friday November 13th, 2009 1:04:06 PM

Looking at the older man Yanosh thinks a bit and then turns to the rest of the 'Pack. "Aeryon and Murdock are the ones who are here daily. They know the heart and soul of the BloodPack. They are BloodPack. Maybe they should be 'IN CHARGE'. It is one way we can monitor the goings on in OddHolme when we are gone."

Yanosh knows it sounds alot like political iintrige but then again it is. And it is unavoidable. They will always be looked to as leaders and defenders of the Holme now.

Thanking Tishe' for the sack of gold Yanosh ties it to his belt and thinks about what he needs from the Catacombs.

(OoC Yanosh does not make 12th level just yet. He is about 10,000 xp short.)

Tishe' (AC 12 HP 77 /77)
Friday November 13th, 2009 1:32:17 PM

Tishe' looks at the others and then counters the refugees offer. "In Hook City, nieghborhoods come together as small governing bodies, really not much bigger than we are now here in OddHolme. What they do is have a Meeting of different people, and then have a Protector Group who deals with internal peace and external fights."

Now that she has made her lead in, Tishe' goes for her proposal. "The Bloodpack are already serving as the Protectors of OddHolme, and we will continue like that. I think we could also hold ONE of the chairs of the Meeting, but there have to be others."

"I suggest a Meeting of Five: one Bloodpack, one to represent farmers and herders, one to represent households, one to represent internal order (like Aeryon), and one as a 'Member at Large'."

What do you think?

Gilan [HP: / - AC: ] [wildshape: ] [endure elements, longstrider]
Friday November 13th, 2009 4:21:04 PM

Gilan glances to Tishe' as she hands over the bag of money and grins. "Thanks....now all I need to do is figure out what to use it for." As he starts to mull that new question over, he is interrrupted by a representative of the refugees. Glancing to the others, he likes Tishe's idea better than any one person being in charge. "Tishe' has a good idea. That way each group is represented and it will work out for the betterment of all." Silently he adds that he does not want to be a part of this council and figures he has no reason to say it.

Going back to his earlier thoughts he tries to figure out what he might be needing. But his thoughts are scattered all over the place, since he is also figuring out ways to better the garden and figures to prepare a few spells in the morning for that.

Falmar AC: 25 (26 with Sword ) HP 69/69 (Endure Elements, Aura of Courage, ),
Friday November 13th, 2009 11:36:47 PM

Falmar Nods in silent approval to Tishe's suggestion. Good thing too, I don't know any of these people...well almost any of them, and it seems not all of them know each other very well... This should eliminate anyone grabbing for power....and 5 will prevent any deadlocks on decisions...what about spiritual concerns ?

Falmar listens through the discussion and when it is finished he heads for his room, In the morning he will leave through the portal to the WLA to Pay his dues and hopefully learn a bit of something.

Good Governance (DM JohnP)
Sunday November 15th, 2009 10:28:03 PM

The 'Pack take some time and make suggestions for the refugees on how to govern themselves. The delegation seems to take it to heart, particularly the establishment of a council of representatives from all segments of the population.

Otherwise, the Bloodpack are getting antsy and ready to get out and about once more.

DM Note - Olaf is on walkabout, so that leaves the Bloodpack two players short. I'm not sure that will be remedied in the near term.

Yanosh
Monday November 16th, 2009 2:49:54 PM

Yanosh nods at the intelegence of Tishe's idea. "Better then mine."
Yanosh then turns his mind to other more protective things. What to get at the catacombs.

Tishe' (AC 12 HP 77 /77)
Monday November 16th, 2009 5:56:43 PM

Since she came up with the idea, Tishe' is willing to be the first Bloodpack liason to the Meeting of Five. Since the former refugees are enthusiastic about the solution, the mystic suggests to have the farmers and herders group, the households group, and the people not associated with either group (ie Member at Large) to discuss and select a member to come to the first Oddholme Meeting in three days' time to be held in the central open space.

She then goes to tell Aeryon and Murdock that one of them is now part of the new governing body of OddHolme: the Meeting.

.......

She then suggests to her packmates that they also need a meeting to decide how they are going to fulfill Gargul's mandate to hunt down and destroy the left-over Ga'al worshippers. "We need some direction or clue as to how to make that happen."

......

Tishe' really enjoys her days off before the meeting. Weaving in her rooms, inviting guests for relaxation, moving about OddHolme helping out with little spells here and there.

And especially in the Portal Room; where she spends a LOT of time going over the strange pictograms for further clues as to how the Portal works. She is meticulous and double-checks her interpretation and answers before coming forward with her results.

With his new rank paid for Falmar joins a group in training....

Collapsing at the end of the day Falmar barely manages to remove his boots as he collapses in a bunk...

So much for relaxation...

Investigations & Meetings (DM JohnP)
Monday November 16th, 2009 11:14:03 PM

Tishe' spends considerable time and effort studying the symbols and marking in the Portal Room, making notes and checking them against the reference texts that she has in her chambers. At the end of it, Tishe's is convinced that her earlier work was correct: the portal in Oddholme would take someone or a group to and from a single destination. She understands the workings well enough to easily make the tokens necessary for using the portal and getting to that underground complex. Of course, the real mystery is that underground complex but there's no way that Tishe' is going there by herself.

Yanosh goes shopping and the other members of the Bloodpack spend some quiet time.

Gilan [HP: / - AC: ] [wildshape: ] [endure elements, longstrider]
Tuesday November 17th, 2009 4:28:28 AM

Gilan spends his freetime collecting different grasses needed from outside to plant inside the dome. The large garden is coming along rather well and if he can get the fields setup, his spells will allow the crops to be bountiful. When he is not working on the fields and planting, he is gathering animals to bolster the small herd that they already have plus add to the blind swallows for eggs.

In all of this he has not even gotten to the fountain that he hopes to get running again, so that there is ready water for the watering of crops and the like. Still he work is quiet and satisfying, the kind he likes.

Yanosh walks quietly to Tishe's place. Standing quietly in front of her door he decides if he can ask her what he needs. shuffleing his feet he sums up the courage to talk to the Druid. Lifting a hand to the door he stops and tirns to walk away. "Coward!" He mutters to himdelf, "Can face an undead knight to the death but cant face a friend for help." Quietly he walks away.

Tishe' (AC 12 HP 77 /77)
Tuesday November 17th, 2009 6:26:17 PM

Tishe' is happy enough with her work, but knows there is more to do in the portal chambers.

She spends a little time each day before the Bloodpack meeting to cast a Scry spell. Using a drawn High Woldian symbol of Ga'al, she looks into her pool of water to see if there is another being somewhere in the Sargrass that also carries that symbol. (Will DC 18 with +10 save to see a creature with the symbol)

.............

At the Bloodpack meeting, Tishe' and Wart are completely refreshed. She reports her conclusive findings on the Portal, as well as anything she found using her Scrying.

"Without any other direction", she begins, "we need to investigate the rest of the Portal rooms and ensure OddHolme's safety. Who knows what's been weaving in there during and after the Great Migration."

Trellus
Tuesday November 17th, 2009 8:59:51 PM

Sorry guys. I'm getting real lifed bad

Trellus is more than happy to let Tishe take the lead on the council. Be kind of interesting to see how she fares, given her tendancy to, uh, stray from the conversation.

Scrying and Meetings (DM JohnP)
Tuesday November 17th, 2009 11:14:32 PM

Tishe' gets a busy signal on her attempt to Scry any followers of Ga'al within the Sargrass. Her spell is completed but she doesn't immediately get a response. Still, she trusts in her connection to the divine and is certain that she will eventually learn something.

Gilan and Trellus continue with their tasks. Gilan has taken a lead role in the production of food for the inhabitants of Oddholme and found some followers among the refugees that he has recruited to assist him. So much, in fact, that at the end of the day the herders and gardeners approach him and ask Gilan to represent them on the new Meeting that is being formed.

After learning that the householders are having some difficulty with selecting a representative, the first Meeting of Five is scheduled for three days later.

Yanosh wants to do some shopping and ... well ... something else.

Tishe' (AC 12 HP 77 /77)
Wednesday November 18th, 2009 5:49:34 PM

Tishe' uses the delay in the Meeting of Five to continue Scrying once per day on the off chance she might find a target on Ga'al servants.

She spends one day zipping over to the Catacombs for some purchases.

And then creating Everburning Torches by casting Continual Flame enables the people of OddHolme to see better in the corridors and tunnels of the domed city.

Falmar AC: 25 (26 with Sword ) HP 69/69 (Endure Elements, Aura of Courage, ),
Wednesday November 18th, 2009 6:44:51 PM

Upon returning from his training Falmar realizes that Oddholme is completely defenseless without the Bloodpack... and since we are likely to leave...occasionally ...it may be a good idea to do something about defense.....

He seeks out Tishe' " Tishe', do you think the Council of 5 would approve the forming of a Militia ? If not immediately effective it would be a base to build upon in the future. We cannot be here all the time...and it may be bast to be prepared for.....the unknown "

After the conversation Falmar spends the rest of the day wandering the perimeter of the dome and looking for any features that would help or hinder a defense.

Gilan [HP: / - AC: ] [wildshape: ] [endure elements, longstrider]
Wednesday November 18th, 2009 7:43:39 PM

Gilan glances up at the herders and gardeners that want him to represent them on the Council. He actually makes it look like he is thinking about it as he tries to figure a way out of it. "You do realize that I will be off with the Bloodpack more often than I am around. That will make it really hard for me to represent you at some meetings the way you should be." Rolling things around in his mind he sighs and then nods his head. "If the others will go for it, I can represent you when I am here but I will need someone of your choosing to represent your groups during the times I am not here. Choose wisely from among you as this person will need to spend a lot of time with me, both listening and learning."

Turing back to the work that he was doing he smiles as he can train this main up right and he will be able to take over the position. It will be someone these groups can look to for strength and support, without getting greedy.

Once both groups go back to the work for the day and seeing as he is almost done anyways, he slips away to find Trellus and Tishe'. Once found he explains the new circumstances to them and what he has done to rememdy the situation. Though he is not happy about it, it was the best solution that he could give them at the time.

Still Waiting (DM JohnP)
Wednesday November 18th, 2009 11:08:31 PM

The Bloodpack continue with their work strengthening the community of Oddholme. And, for that matter, looking after their own needs.

Falmar suggests the raising of a militia for Oddholme in the event that the grass dome cannot rely upon being hidden for defence. He doesn't get an immediate response even though this seems like something that Grymash would endorse.

Gilan isn't completely certain about representing the herders and farmers so he suggests an alternative. The group of former refugees doesn't deliberate for long before accepting his decision.

Tishe' (AC 12 HP 77 /77)
Thursday November 19th, 2009 8:54:27 AM

Tishe' thinks Falmar has a great idea and promises to put it on the agenda for the first Meeting of Five.

Yanosh
Thursday November 19th, 2009 12:43:19 PM

Yanosh too thinks the malitia idea is good for the Dome.

Falmar AC: 25 (26 with Sword ) HP 69/69 (Endure Elements, Aura of Courage, ),
Thursday November 19th, 2009 6:22:38 PM

Falmar realizes that the Dome is bigger than he thought it was. He spends some time among the refugees newly settled residents ? and asks if they know of anyone with them who considers themselves an artist or with a bit of luck... a cartographer... hoping to expand their knowledge of the inside of the dome and providing a help in organizing the population. He also assesses their needs... asking everyone he meets if there are supplies or equipment that they are in need of ? Tools, equipment, clothing etc... urging any with other pressing concerns to bring them to their representative for inclusion in the Meeting.

Waiting Some More (DM JohnP)
Thursday November 19th, 2009 11:20:07 PM

The day of the Meeting of Five is quickly approaching. Everyone seems to think that a militia is a good idea. Falmar now takes it upon himself to find someone who can map the interior and exterior of Oddholme.

Otherwise, everyone is merely patching and repairing their gear in preparation for theit next adventure.

Gilan [HP: / - AC: ] [wildshape: ] [endure elements, longstrider]
Friday November 20th, 2009 2:30:42 AM

Gilan finds himself with a new task with all the others that he has taken on, but a lot of those other duties are now well in hand. With a shrug he turns his attention to whatever man or woman that the groups decided to send to him. Filling them in on the things that need to be done, many of the different ways to do things for the betterment of the herds as well as the crops. Mostly he makes it a point that this person learns to listen to everyone and do what is in the best interest of everyone inside the dome. He is actually rather pleased with his progress or at least he seems to be and he plans to have this person sitting in on the first meeting.

Tishe' (AC 12 HP 77 /77)
Friday November 20th, 2009 1:07:37 PM

Tishe' thinks Falmar's mapping of OddHolme is a great idea! (ooc: would love a map of OddHolme!) All she really knows of the place is...
- the main entrance,
- the long cooridor with many tunnels to the left and right,
- the central ampitheater with tower in the middle,
- the portal room off one of those tunnels branching from the main tunnel
- and her suite of three rooms with balcony which is on the second floor of OddHolme and overlooks the central ampitheater

When the Meeting of Five get together, Tishe' calls it to order and conducts a roll call.
Representative of the Bloodpack is Tishe'
Representative of the farmer/gatherers is Gilan
Representative of Households?
Representative of Internal Security is Aeryon the Drow
Representative at Large is?

First Order of Business - Census of people, households, and skills
Second Order of Business - Map of OddHolme
Third Order of Business - Establishing a Militia.

Tishe' tries to be very formal about the Meeting, but keeps getting bogged down in minutia. "Oh, and how is little Kartie's cold now?" and "Maybe the Militia uniforms should be a sage color with khaki pants" ....

Apology (DM JohnP)

No post tonight.

Yanosh
Monday November 23rd, 2009 12:00:48 PM

Looking at his worn clothes Yanosh once again tries to broach the subject of his personal needs with Tishe'. Seeing Tishe' busier then ever he once again changes his minds. "Tishe'," he speakes her name softly. Once he has her attention he continues, "What of the differant religions here at Oddholme? Will they not have a say in the Meeting?"

Tishe' (AC 12 HP 77 /77)
Monday November 23rd, 2009 3:45:20 PM

"Good!", exclaims Tishe' with a clap of her hands, "lets vote to see if one Representative should be speaking for the different religious groups."

She cocks her head and thinks. "Maybe it would be a good idea to know which groups are around? I know that most of Rattledam revered Pantheon, but there is the new Power Sargrass to consider being a part of our community." She looks around and smiles. "I think that people who worship Gargul, Ebyron, Domi, or Maab are in the distinct minority."

Grymash
Monday November 23rd, 2009 7:48:52 PM

Grymash finally wakes up from his overdue nap. He wonders how many days he slept. Carrying a god around through the Sargrass takes a lot out of a half-orc. He's never slept this long. His arms and legs feel stiff. He definitely needs to get in a good work out. He tries to sit up, and after his first try and falls back onto his pillow. "What is wrong with me!!?" He tries again ... still it takes all his effort to sit up and turn his back against the wall, which he uses to keep himself propped up. "What sun-baked magic is this?" He anxiously runs his hands across his leg. "My God, I can't barely feel my legs!!"

(sorry i havent posted, been way too busy)

Meeting Preparation (DM JohnP)
Monday November 23rd, 2009 11:08:15 PM

Gilan and Tishe' continue with their preparations and work to improve Oddholme. Even while Tishe' tries to catalog the different factions and possible representatives, not to mention making plans for the future, Yanosh asks whether the religious should have a voice in the Meeting. Tishe' seems to think that a good idea and makes plans to do so.

Sometime in the interim, Grymash has awoken from his fevered sleep to learn that he is quite weak.

DM Note - Okay ... we'll get started on the next mission after the holiday weekend. Take the time to start anything in the Catacombs and we'll consider it to be delivered whenever the transaction is finished.

Oh ... if someone has stats and details on Steelgrass armor, please send it to me.

Gilan [HP: / - AC: ] [wildshape: ] [endure elements, longstrider]
Monday November 23rd, 2009 11:28:40 PM

Gilan glances to Tishe' and then nods his head. "Tishe', this is Naneen and she is the one that will be representing the herders and farmer while I am not here." He seems slightly happy to be have someone to train for the job. It is almost assured that he will try to turn it over to her fully once he has her established as a dependable person. Being a much simpler man, he is more than willing to help in whatever endeavors the council wants to go about and will put in his two silvers as needed. "Mapping is a good idea and it will allow us to figure out what space is still available so that we can get other needed places setup." He is sure that they are going to need an area for storage as well.

Yanosh
Tuesday November 24th, 2009 1:49:38 PM

Yanosh sits next to Tishe', "Ummm TIshe'," he starts, "I need to ask a favor." There its out and started. Now there is no turning back. When Tishe' answers him he continues. "As you can tell I have but this one set of clothing. It is not proper for a Cleric to be dressed as such all the time. Could you if you have time make me new clothing. Ones that are befitting a Cleric of Gatgul?"

Tishe' (AC 12 HP 77 /77)
Tuesday November 24th, 2009 4:10:20 PM

Tishe' greets Naneen and nearly falls over herself on Yanosh's request. "Of course you need more clothes!" she cries with gusto. After the meeting, lets make some measurements, and I'll make you some!

Clothes for Yanosh (DM JohnP)
Tuesday November 24th, 2009 10:50:36 PM

Gilan brings the young woman who will be representing the herders and farmers to meet with Tishe' and the others. Naneen seems almost shy to meet Tishe' and Yanosh, two of the heroes who brought her out of the ruins of Rattledam and to this new place.

Gilan and several others have suggesting mapping out Oddholme. Jurris, one of the craftsmen, who hasn't much to do at the moment indicates that he will take on the task so long as he has some assistance. A group of youngsters are found who can handle cords and torches and Jurris gets to his task. It has been slow going, though, and it might be some time before Jurris can provide a map to the Meeting.

Yanosh discloses his need of clothing to Tishe'. The theurge commits to making some for the dwarf.

Tishe' is enthusiastic, and measures Yanosh from every possible angle. And then she gets busy with her loom. Never worrying about color, she weaves a soft yet sturdy fabric into her loom, creating several bolts of cloth for use as everyday work clothes. And then, as her fingers warm up, she weaves a designed garment like a poncho as ecclesiastical wear for Yanosh. The High Woldian Symbol of Gargul is woven directly into the fabric on the front and back, marked out in a darker 'Grass and with inverted weaveing to make it noticable. And along the hem in the same style, are symbols of life and death intertwined in an intricate dance: the seasons of the Sargrass, the life of a man from babe to elder, scenes from the Year of Ascension, the phases of the moon, the Cycle of the Sargrass.

Grymash
Wednesday November 25th, 2009 11:55:12 AM

Grymash reaches over to this handy quiver. He passes over the arrows and reaches into one of the other compartments. He miraculously draws out a 6-ft long quarterstaff. This act usually makes the half-orc smile. Extra dimensional spaces always seem to tickle his funny bone, however not this time. His concerns for his well-being is taking precedence. Using the quarterstaff, he struggles to his feet. He takes his first couple of steps like a newborn cub. Grymash doesn't know what to think! The only thought that comes to mind is to walk amongst the grass!

Yanosh
Wednesday November 25th, 2009 12:59:03 PM

Yanosh stands as Tishe' takes the measurments. "Tishe' do you know anyone that can weave steelgrass armor?" he asks when she is done with the measurments.

Gilan [HP: / - AC: ] [wildshape: ] [endure elements, longstrider]
Wednesday November 25th, 2009 9:29:24 PM

Gilan finds himself seated in front of the fountain that they had found in the garden when all the work began. From this position he lays his hands on the ground and starts the casting of one of his more complicated spells. He feels that the best way to start this discovery out is to search the fountain area itself and the ground beneath it to see if there is water. Maybe he can also find out the problems that plague the fountain as well.

[commune with nature]

Weaving (DM JohnP)
Wednesday November 25th, 2009 10:54:56 PM

Tishe' promptly sets to making a set of clothing for Yanosh. Tishe' has barely begun when Yanosh askes about the production of steelgrass armor. However she responds, the task is relaxing as the theurge settles into the routines first learned as a girl - setting up the loom, running the shuttle back and forth and planning the pattern to be created. When she finishes, Yanosh has a very nice garment with Gargul's symbol prominently displayed.

During the same time, Grymash uses a staff to stand and start walking. His long rest has weakened the half-orc and Grymash weaves out towards the grass outside.

Gilan investigates the fountain, sending his senses downward into the soil and stone beneath the dome. After questioning the small creatures, Gilan finds a zone where water has been leaking from the pipe that would feed the fountain. In turn, small creatures and grass root tendrils have invaded the pipe to block the further flow of water. From what he can tell, a small amount of digging is all that is required provided that Gilan can find someone skilled with water piping among the refugees.

Falmar AC: 25 (26 with Sword ) HP 69/69 (Endure Elements, Aura of Courage, ),  d20+3=14 ;
Saturday November 28th, 2009 8:39:56 PM

Falmar spends time searching out somewhere the local Militia might be housed, somewhere to keep supplies and equipment...Restless for something to do he does odd tasks for the new citizens of Oddholme to pass the time....learning about them and their stories.
He begins to ask around about walled cities or maybe even woven walls of grass...but only receives odd stories and some strange looks when he describes towns walled in stone.
He spends some time clearing more around the Gardens, hoping to find somewhere to store grains and stores....to set aside for times of need.

Gilan [HP: / - AC: ] [wildshape: ] [endure elements, longstrider]
Sunday November 29th, 2009 11:48:09 AM

Gilan is rather happy with what he finds out as he can deal with most of the problems himself. In fact if he had to, he supposes that he could also deal with the pipes but would rather have someone that truely knows the business working on it.

With that in mind, he heads out to talk to the refugees and see if anyone has the skills for working on the pipes and replacing them. He already knows that he can get to them without too much trouble and take care of most of the other problems. Fresh drinking water would be a plus and the magic of the dome would keep the insects out fo that he knows for sure.

He will also offer his assistance to any of the rest of the group that needs his help. Most obviously he will find time to see if Falmar can use his help since he is in the garden. He does suggest finding someone that knows weapons if they find a suitable place to setup an armory as they will need someone to keep them ready.

Apology (DM JohnP)
Sunday November 29th, 2009 10:53:39 PM

Still trying to get going on the next module.

Tishe' (AC 12 HP 77 /77)
Monday November 30th, 2009 12:15:49 PM

(ooc: OK)

Tishe' shakes her head. "The only places I have heard of that produced Steelgrass Armor was Rattledam and the Manfri. We can ask if any expert weavers have come with the new people of OddHolme, but then we would still have to find and collect the SteelGrass itself. I've never tried to weave it myself, and don't think I have all the skills necessary."

(ooc: assuming one would need weaving and Craft Woldian Item feat to make this Fate Item)

"You can ask Grymash where he got his. I think it was a gift from the Manfri for some service in the past."

Yanosh
Monday November 30th, 2009 2:03:58 PM

Thinking it over Yanosh decides to find his Brother Eye. "Thanks, I'll be sure to look for him as soon as I can."

Once Tishe' is finished with him Yanosh goes to find Gry. After knocking on the Half-Orcs door Yanosh finds that he is not home and decides to go in search of him.

Falmar AC: 25 (26 with Sword ) HP 69/69 (Endure Elements, Aura of Courage, ),
Monday November 30th, 2009 2:55:15 PM

Falmar leads Gilan to the heavy gate of a fairly large circular courtyard. He reaches out and opens the gate revealing a circular space about 40 paces wide with twenty short doors surrounding it. The walls are tiered along the edge with two sets of stairs leading up to 2 more levels of doors all facing the courtyard.

" Some of the children were playing some kind of hiding game here. They must have liked the smaller doors. I think this may work as a place for the militia.. The doors would need to be enlarged if someone of Gry's stature would join but it's fairly private, and has room to grow... There's a basement for storage or an armory, I haven't looked around much yet but the children tell me there are many stairs and passages between rooms." " What do you think the quickest way to get supplies and equipment would be? The Catacombs ? or possibly a portal to somewhere ?"

Should children be wandering around here ? Nothing has happened yet, but...their parents should...or do they have parents ? another thing for the Meeting...

Gilan [HP: / - AC: ] [wildshape: ] [endure elements, longstrider]
Monday November 30th, 2009 10:18:12 PM

Gilan follows along with Falmar and looks over the number of rooms that he is talking about. It looks like a good defendable place as well. "It might serve as a fallback place as well in case of trouble. The smaller doors will hamper enemy entrance and attacks. Maybe if the militia is trained in close quarters combat with a variety of weapons." He leave it hanging as that was not his department though he had his own array of close quarters weapons.

Thinking over the last question he has to shake his head. "I would say the Catacombs would be the best bet. I am not sure of anywhere else that we could get some of what we need. There are of course a number of grasses that can serve as weapon parts, but making true weapons of them would be a task for a skilled weaponsmith." He was thinking along the same lines as Falmar with the children, though he did not realize it at this time.

"We might want to see about putting babysitters or something of that order on the Councils agenda as well. These kids need somekind of supervision or guidance so that they do not get into trouble." He has already taken in a number of them and has been teaching them the ways of the wild.

Falmar AC: 25 (26 with Sword ) HP 69/69 (Endure Elements, Aura of Courage, ),
Wednesday December 2nd, 2009 8:40:16 PM

Falmar wakes early and stretches, scratches, and packs his things for a trip to the Catacombs..

Hopefully returning with some equipment...may need to make a few trips...

Touching the Mark of Gargul on his chest he lets everyone know his intentions..

Militia Training (DM JohnP)
Wednesday December 2nd, 2009 11:13:53 PM

DM Apology - Module start scheduled for Monday, December 7. I apologize for the delay in getting going.

Grymash doesn't rouse himself to describe where he acquired his steelgrass armor. Gilan, of course, is also wearing the distinctive armor of the Sargrass. Tishe' is relatively certain that both weaving skill and the ability to craft magical arms and equipment are needed, not to mention learning the secret preparation methods of the Manfri. Perhaps that is something that the Manfri can be asked about?

The refugees now living in Oddholme receive the idea of a militia with mixed feelings. There are some, obviously, who would much rather march about with weapons and tell others what to do rather than doing it themselves. And there are those who are content with the familiar or new tasks they are working on here in Oddholme. But there is a small group who want to be able to protect themselves and their families from whatever threats the Sargrass presents. It's merely a matter of arming them and winnowing the seed grains from the chaff. And Falmar is nearly back with the basics needed to equip a militia.

Tishe' (AC 12 HP 77 /77)
Thursday December 3rd, 2009 11:45:42 AM

Tishe' enjoys the time to relax, weave, cultivate a small garden of plants about her rooms.

The Meeting is fun too, as she gets to talk with lots of people!

Falmar AC: 25 (26 with Sword ) HP 69/69 (Endure Elements, Aura of Courage, ),
Thursday December 3rd, 2009 7:05:45 PM

Falmar arrives back in Oddholme with what he hopes will be at least a beginning of a defense for these people. Falmar stows everything in his room and seeks out Gilan with an idea.

After looking through the newly started garden, Falmar easily tracks down Gilan. thanks to Gargul

" Gilan, I've bought enough equipment to equip 10 for the Militia, we should have the Meeting find someone to be their commander. I think the Militia should begin their training with something a bit less lethal than swords though. Is there any type of the grasses that could be used to make quarter staffs to begin their training ?

After tehir conversation Falmar will retreat to the edge of the sargrass outside the dome and watch Sun set on the Wold....

Yanosh
Friday December 4th, 2009 2:02:43 PM

Yanosh decides to ask the Manfri when he see them next.
The Dwarven Cleric spends the rest of his day walking among the residents of OddHolme. He wears the new robes that Tishe' has made for him.

Gilan [HP: / - AC: ] [wildshape: ] [endure elements, longstrider]
Friday December 4th, 2009 8:32:31 PM

Glancing to Falmar he nods his head as he smiles. "There are a number of grasses that would work and in fact one that is more yielding that the children play with at times. It of course stings when you get hit with it but will not leave any permanent marks." He will go in search of some of this grass, with Falmar if he wants to go, and harvest enough for twenty or thirty makeshift weapons of a varying sizes.

The council meeting was ok and he gave his usual complete report with his work on feeding the dome. What he has been upto to get running water back in the dome as well, which has been a slight success and he is just about ready to get the fountain back to working order.

For Falmar, he brings up the militia and the need for a Commander to take the lead in forming up those interested. With all that done though, he will find Grymash to talk to him about getting him to look over the recruits and help to weed out the undesireables. The need those that are willing to protect, not wanting to push their newfound authority around.
