Militia Training (DM JohnP) Wednesday December 2nd, 2009 11:13:53 PM DM Apology - Module start scheduled for Monday, December 7. I apologize for the delay in getting going.
Grymash doesn't rouse himself to describe where he acquired his steelgrass armor. Gilan, of course, is also wearing the distinctive armor of the Sargrass. Tishe' is relatively certain that both weaving skill and the ability to craft magical arms and equipment are needed, not to mention learning the secret preparation methods of the Manfri. Perhaps that is something that the Manfri can be asked about?
The refugees now living in Oddholme receive the idea of a militia with mixed feelings. There are some, obviously, who would much rather march about with weapons and tell others what to do rather than doing it themselves. And there are those who are content with the familiar or new tasks they are working on here in Oddholme. But there is a small group who want to be able to protect themselves and their families from whatever threats the Sargrass presents. It's merely a matter of arming them and winnowing the seed grains from the chaff. And Falmar is nearly back with the basics needed to equip a militia.
Tishe' (AC 12 HP 77 /77) Thursday December 3rd, 2009 11:45:42 AM
Tishe' enjoys the time to relax, weave, cultivate a small garden of plants about her rooms.
The Meeting is fun too, as she gets to talk with lots of people!
Falmar AC: 25 (26 with Sword ) HP 69/69 (Endure Elements, Aura of Courage, ), Thursday December 3rd, 2009 7:05:45 PM
Falmar arrives back in Oddholme with what he hopes will be at least a beginning of a defense for these people. Falmar stows everything in his room and seeks out Gilan with an idea.
After looking through the newly started garden, Falmar easily tracks down Gilan. thanks to Gargul
" Gilan, I've bought enough equipment to equip 10 for the Militia, we should have the Meeting find someone to be their commander. I think the Militia should begin their training with something a bit less lethal than swords though. Is there any type of the grasses that could be used to make quarter staffs to begin their training ?
After tehir conversation Falmar will retreat to the edge of the sargrass outside the dome and watch Sun set on the Wold....
Yanosh Friday December 4th, 2009 2:02:43 PM
Yanosh decides to ask the Manfri when he see them next. The Dwarven Cleric spends the rest of his day walking among the residents of OddHolme. He wears the new robes that Tishe' has made for him.
Gilan [HP: / - AC: ] [wildshape: ] [endure elements, longstrider] Friday December 4th, 2009 8:32:31 PM
Glancing to Falmar he nods his head as he smiles. "There are a number of grasses that would work and in fact one that is more yielding that the children play with at times. It of course stings when you get hit with it but will not leave any permanent marks." He will go in search of some of this grass, with Falmar if he wants to go, and harvest enough for twenty or thirty makeshift weapons of a varying sizes.
The council meeting was ok and he gave his usual complete report with his work on feeding the dome. What he has been upto to get running water back in the dome as well, which has been a slight success and he is just about ready to get the fountain back to working order.
For Falmar, he brings up the militia and the need for a Commander to take the lead in forming up those interested. With all that done though, he will find Grymash to talk to him about getting him to look over the recruits and help to weed out the undesireables. The need those that are willing to protect, not wanting to push their newfound authority around.
Boot Camp (DM JohnP) Monday December 7th, 2009 10:02:08 PM
Falmar brings his gear to the part of Oddholme that has been set aside for the militia. He and GIlan then start the process of selecting and training the volunteers. They try to interest Grymash since they expect that the half-orc would be a very intimidating drill sergeant. And they suspect that they need some help selecting the best volunteers to serve as the cadre of the militia. As it is, they start drilling with sticks when the volunteers aren't performing calisthenics.
Grymash d100=3 ; d20+13=19 ; Tuesday December 8th, 2009 2:22:33 AM
(sorry I havent been posting .... been working on final projects, studying for final exams, and freelance work. Will try and start post more regular. Things should pick up after the semester is over.)
After making his way out into the grass, Grymash almost immediately starts to feel his strength return. The soil under his feet feels invigorating. What does this all mean? He kneels down and prays to the one who knows all the answers ... Lord Gargul.
Gilan [HP: / - AC: ] [wildshape: ] [endure elements, longstrider] Tuesday December 8th, 2009 2:57:49 AM
Gilan makes it a point to break his time between his plantings in the newest fields and training with the newest recruits. Though not the fighter that some of the rest of the Bloodpack are, he is not that bad either. Most of his time is spent in teaching the recruits to use spears in tight formations and use the natural design of the dome to their advantage. The work is slow and tedious but he puts the effort into it as if it was one of his plants that needed his tender loving care.
After the first few days of working with the trainees, trying to get the fields totally ready and still pull in more animals for the livestock that will be needed....he has started to slow a little. Though the shifter has not seemed to notice it himself, he is working himself too hard.
Tishe' (AC 12 HP 77 /77) Tuesday December 8th, 2009 11:50:19 AM
Tishe' enjoys the time to relax, weave, cultivate a small garden of plants about her rooms.
The Meeting is fun too, as she gets to talk with lots of people!
Falmar AC: 25 (26 with Sword ) HP 69/69 (Endure Elements, Aura of Courage, ), Tuesday December 8th, 2009 11:17:44 PM
Falmar spends his day sparring with the Militia recruits mainly on forms, giving additional instruction on the crossbow having set up three large grass bundle targets at one end of the barracks yard. The crossbow traing goes well....not much to learning the crossbow, they pick it up quickly, and it's fairly accurate without the years of practice the longbow would require....
In early evening he wanders through some of the unexplored areas of Oddholme looking for something interesting...lost in thought...listening for the Song of this place....and adding to his own.
Co-DM JimW Thursday December 10th, 2009 7:23:34 PM
The Council meets once again to discuss the plans that have already been implemented and how they are working. The meeting goes rather well though there were a number of new concerns brought to the Council's attention. There seems to be a group of those that seem to think that they deserve more than what they are getting. The Council debates over it and plans to work on it before the next meeting, they need time to come up with a solution.
Gilan and Falmars' work in the garden turns out to be a great success. The crops are already starting to show rather well with the help of spells from Gilan. Falmar's attention has allowed Gilan to get the fountain working again as well. A day before the Council meeting, the fountain is running and it is greeted with praise as well as joy.
The newest militia is turning out to be harder that it was first expected. There are a number of good soldiers in the group but also a number that are more intent upon showing off. It appears that some are wanting to get the authority that they can wield if they become true militia.
Still, the Bloodpack knows that they will soon be called to take up their mission again. They still have a mission from Gargul that has not been completed yet and it would be wise to need keep the Gray Lord waiting too long.
Tishe' (AC 12 HP 77 /77) Friday December 11th, 2009 5:23:27 PM
It has been a good thing to have time to settle in and be part of a community, but Tishe' is feeling the tug of her conscience to be up and about and fulfilling the geasa laid on the Bloodpack from the Gray Lord. At evening meal, she clears her throat and begins to talk.
"I think we need to figure out where there are undead or leftover Ga'al worshippers around the Sargrass. I've been Scrying once a day to find a trace, but have come up with nothing. If we can't find out with our own spells, I can only think of two things to do. The first would be to ask the Manfri if they know of anyone that fits the Undead or Gaal description. The second would be to go to the portal chambers and ensure that system is safe for transportation to various places."
She looks around for input from the others, keenly feeling the absense of Trellus.
(ooc: remember MikeK is taking a short walkabout until a RL deadline is accomplished, hopefully by January.)
Gilan [HP: / - AC: ] [wildshape: ] [endure elements, longstrider] Friday December 11th, 2009 8:11:07 PM
Gilan is seated on the ground listening to Tishe'. Leaning back with a bit of licorice grass sticking out of his mouth that he has been chewing on he nodded his head. "I have been checking as well, but I have gotten mixed results as well." Glancing to the others, he would have admitted that he was missing Trellus as well. To have him gone was not a good thing for the group, but his family needed him more than they did about now.
"How about we try divinations one last time tomorrow morning and if it does not good, we will hunt out the Manfri for assistance?" It of course was just a suggestion and he still seemed tired from the work that he has been doing.
Co-DM JimW Friday December 11th, 2009 10:07:38 PM
It has been a long two weeks getting the refugees settled in even better than they had originally. The Bloodpack have found the going frought with many difficulties that they have not forseen. Still it has not been as hard as it could have been since some decent people have stepped forward from the refugees to help out.
With matters seeming to be well in hand, several members of the Bloodpack have taken to doing some divinations on the location of these Ga'alians that Gargul has charged them with destroying. With the group meeting up in garden that Gilan calls home, they take the time to discuss what they have found out so far....which is precious little.
Tishe', who has been spending more time doing the divinations than most of the others has had a little more success than anyone else. Though it is not hard evidence, she had gotten some word that a Ga'alian is still lurking somewhere near the location of Hook City or the border of the city anyways.
Tishe' (AC 12 HP 77 /77) Monday December 14th, 2009 10:19:20 AM
"The border of Hook City would be MudTown", Tishe' says with certainty, "Both Falmar and I are from the city, and so should be able to reasonably find this Gaalian conclave and deal with it."
A shadow comes over her face. "Of course, with the Great Migration, we don't know how far away Hook City is from us,", and then she brightens again, "but it will give us a bit of a walk to see how the Sargrass is handling it after the Migration and birth of Sargrass!"
And then, with her mercurial attention span, TIshe' counters her arguments. "Or we can explore the portal system to see if there isn't a portal to Hook City. That would take a whole lot less time if there really is one!"
DM Read: Highlight to display spoiler: { Just making sure you know the location of Sargrass vs Hook City after the Great Migration. (they've moved) If there is a Gaalian where Hook City used to be, though, that should be fine. I'll make sure Tishe' doesn't act on knowledge the Player (me) possesses. :-) }
Gilan [HP: / - AC: ] [wildshape: ] [endure elements, longstrider] Monday December 14th, 2009 6:30:26 PM
Gilan is up early like normal, having went about his morning prayers. As he listens to the "battle report" he shakes his head and then yawns, having finally given himself the chance to catch rest that his body was needing. "So on the border of Hook City. I have never been there before and a portal there would be nice if there is one." His mind starts going over everything that they might be needing and is not totally sure what that might be for sure.
[This module is full of surprises. :)]
Falmar AC: 25 (26 with Sword ) HP 69/69 (Endure Elements, Aura of Courage, ), Monday December 14th, 2009 11:42:07 PM "Either the portals or possibly the Manfri may know where we need to head.... I traveled most of the way here with a Trader...if we could find another trader it could be useful for us....and for Oddholme.
Falmar prepares to depart, refilling his supplies, bathing, shaving......without the beard...he seems a bit more Elvish.....just a bit...
" Hopefully Gargul's task can be completed without bringing us to Mud Town...Mud Town has it's own problems and doesn't need Ga'al's attention added to them."
Co-DM JimW Tuesday December 15th, 2009 1:43:20 AM
Tishe' had been over several of the different rooms in the lower area that housed the portal. All it took was a key tuned to the desired location to get there, but each key was different and would need to be researched. It was apparent that the murals down there were the keys, but so far the only ones that had been worked out were for the Woldian League of Adventurers, Star Mage Guild and the Catacombs.
All of the older Bloodpack could tell Falmar that the Manfri are never found but they do the finding. Their only choice is to travel through the grass in the direction of Hook City and see what they can find. There are occassionally grassboat traders moving across the grasses, but they are far and inbetween with the Plains being so dangerous.
By noon, the group is ready to move out minus a few of their number who are needed to stay here at the dome. The grass is as unforgiving as normal and the going rather slow since the speed is set by the slowest person in the group. Still the group makes good time through the grass as the sun starts to sink in the sky and evening is fast approaching.
Tishe' (AC 12 HP 77 /77) d20+14=26 Tuesday December 15th, 2009 10:48:51 AM
Tishe' ensures the OddHolme Meeting knows the Bloodpack will be travelling for a while. "We've all worked together to set up the Meeting so OddHolme people can care for each other and don't need the Bloodpack." she reminds them. "Aeryon and Murdock are the Bloodpack representatives for the Meeting while we are gone."
In the morning, Tishe' studies and prays, making sure she has enough Endure Elements spells for herself and Falmar. (Assuming the old-time Bloodpackers know how to travel in the Sargrass).
Hefting her pack and checking on her desert toad familiar, Wart, the mystic steps off with the new roster of the Bloodpack, heading to the north and towards Hook City.

Gilan had been up early to go through his morning prayers and cast his few spells for getting ready for his travels. Glancing to his pack he falls into step with them trying to make the passage through the grass as easy as possible for them. He does everything from scouting ahead, to behind them and even off to each side to make sure that there are no dangerous around....or at least large ones.
When the time comes to stop for the night, he sets up his own bedding and offers to help with any of the others that need help. He even moves off to search for edibles in the grass, bringing back an assortment of grasses and edible bugs for them all to share.

Camp is soon struck and the group beds down for the night. Guards are posted like normal and the group gets a good nights sleep with not disruptions. The next morning breakfast is easy setup from a lot of the leftovers from the previous night. The sun is just starting to rise and make the grass glow when some rise.
Once the group is back on the move, the scouts come across what appears to be a path through the grasses. It is slightly hard to tell though as the grass usually grows back easily when tramped down.
Grymash Wednesday December 16th, 2009 11:58:42 PM
(extremely sorry guys, ive been so preoccupied with finals and freelance work. well, they're finally over. im done for the semester.)
Grymash seems disoriented. All those days and nights out in the grass. Something seems so different, yet so very familiar. He barely noticed the pack leaving, and even after that it didn't register that they were going somewhere. Like all this time was just a dream. He eventually makes his way back to Oddholme and his room. The feel of the floor under his feet, the cold touch of his double axe, all seem to anchor him back into reality. Still feeling somewhat euphoric, Grymash is able to put on his steelgrass and grab a few provisions. He isnt sure how far they are ahead of him. He isnt even sure how long they've been gone, but he heads out in the direction he noticed them. Hopefully he will be able to catch up.

Just a quick FYI so that we have an idea of where we are standing.
Trellus and Flea stayed back at Oddholme for personal reasons.
If everyone that is still playing would please email me at......chosendemon@gmail.com.....I would appreciate it. I want to setup a mass email and will add in the others when they come back.
NOTE: This post will disappear by Thursday night or early Friday morning.

ooc1: email sent, Jim!
ooc2: no worries, Stephen! I so totally know about end of semester time cramps! :-) I made the mistake this semester to have five graded papers and projects due on the same day!
..........
With the arrival of morning, Tishe' goes about her daily devotions and eats whatever anyone else cooked or what's in her trail rations if there was no cooking... Tishe' knows she could burn water!
Before they start out, though, Tishe' asks for a group meeting. "With Trellus not with us, we need a new pack leader. Gilan, you can't be it because without Flea or Olaf, you are our best scout. The Powers know I've tried to be a leader, but I think everyone can agree that I'm not really good at that sort of stuff." Wart takes that opportunity to croak and move, and Tishe' gives the toad a reproving look. "Thanks, sweetie", she says sarcastically.
With her usual mercurial decisions, Tishe' turns brightly to Falmar. "Falmar, would you be the leader of the Bloodpack?"

Gilan smiles and then nods his head. "I am no leader anyways." Glancing to Falmar, he raises an eyebrow as he waits to see what the man has to say. "Don't worry if you don't want the position as you can give it back when Trellus has his family issues taken care of." Most don't really like the leadership role as it can be a double edged sword.
He makes sure that everyone has leftovers from the night before with a few little additions from the stuff he brought with him.
Once they are back on the more again, he pulls up short and glances to the grass. Going down to one knee he quietly calls out to the rest of the group and points out the unusual way the grass lays. "Do you get the idea that someone has passed through here? A rather large group, maybe two groups actually." He waits to see if any of the others can backup what he himself is seeing.

As Tishe' turns toward Falmar and makes her suggestion he suddenly chokes on something he was chewing on. He takes a moment to recover..and takes a deep breath.
Slowly running his fingers through his hair from front to back, his eyes look off into the distance as he considers what Gilan has to say...
" I know there is a need, and I feel that I would be a poor replacement for Trellus....but it is true that every 'Pack needs a leader..... I will accept this task, Domi willing, on a temporary basis...only until Trellus returns...or we find someone better.. Although there are many things I still do not know, I will need help on the way...If you all agree."

" So....should we follow the groups, or see where they came from ?"
Co-DM JimW *ammendment* Friday December 18th, 2009 3:45:12 AM
Gilan points out the slightly mashed grass that is slowly returning to its original shape. Glancing to Tishe' for confirmation, she is also able to confirm what he is about to tell the group next.
He lets them know that a group of humanoids passed this way maybe an hour ago and numbered somewhere between ten to twenty people. With that he lays a hand upon the next set of tracks and frowns. The group was being followed by another group, much smaller than the first but with what appears to be a snake with them. The tracks show that the humanoids came into the borders of the Sargrass and were moving with some haste as if running from something. The second group seemed a little more at ease in the grass but did not seem to fit.
The last set of tracks Gilan and Tishe' both agree came from the opposite direction that the group of humanoids is traveling now.
Earlier that night, both Grymash and Yanosh had caught up with the group. They had been aided with magics from one of the brothers at Oddholme.
[Starting Monday I will get on a fixed schedule for posting somewhere around about 7pm at the latest. I should also warn you that the group very well could be entering into combat soon and that everyone that is playing right now will need to be posting. Let me know if you are needing a sub for a week so that we can try and cover you. If you are needing more time than that please let me know as well so that I can work you out of the group for a little while and return you later. Hopefully I will be able to add a couple new people to the group as well.]

"I don't like this, she tells the other packmates, "one or more groups could be refugees from Rattledam or another orphan village, but no one I know of would have a large snake with them. The tracks aren't big enough for a Great Ranthom. It feels like the Snake group is hunting; and the only ones I know in the Grass who hunt are the Barons and slavers."
She turns to Falmar. "I think we should weave them some help, packleader."

Co-DM JimW Friday December 18th, 2009 11:33:31 PM
Tishe' and Gilan both can tell Falmar that there is little way that all of them are going to move through the grass at a fair pace. That the grass itself slows you down unless you have a way to travel through it unhindered, which the two of them have. They might be able to catch up to the group that is doing the following but it will take a little time.
It might also be hard to make use of an aerial scout as well as the grass is tall almost all over, in almost every place it is even as high as twenty feet and not less than twelve feet everywhere else. There are a few animals of course that could get through the grass easily enough and they do have two possible scouts....Gilan and Tishe'.
With little time to waste, Falmar finds himself in a hard position but he can count upon the input from the pack. They often work together in these things and there is always the possibility of them slowing people down in the grass.
[I am giving you a little time to make some plans before moving you in a direction.]
Tishe' (AC 12 HP 77 /77) d20+16=18 ; Saturday December 19th, 2009 5:36:41 PM
"Gilan and I can scout in front of the Bloodpack while everyone is moving in that direction. With our druidic abilities, we can move faster than anyone else. Once we find out what is going on, we can use the Mark of Gargul to Message back and forth."
Tishe' sighs. "If only we had a Sargrass Ship to sail on top of the Grasses. Once we get to Hook City, I'll look into buying one for our use."

Gilan nods his head as he runs his hand over the grass that is slowly righting itself. "If you are in need of scouts, we might be your best choice." He has to agree with her thoughts also about them being able to communicate through the Marks. Picking a piece of licorice grass out of one of his pouches, he pops it into his mouth before offering more to the rest of the group.

Yanosh Sunday December 20th, 2009 2:58:18 PM
Glancing up to Gry Yanosh nods toward Falmar "Who put the new guy in charge?" He smirks. Turning to Tishe he agrees that the two Druids are the best choice for scouts as he has seen them in action before.
"Tishe' you need not spend all of your money for a ship for the 'Pack. I have some that i can spend to help out the cost of it." NOwing that he feels a need to repay Tishe' for his new Clerical garb Yanosh insits that he help pay for the Sargrass ship.

"Why thank you, sweetie, for the offer. I'm sure we may all need to pitch in to buy something as expensive as a ship, unless we grab one from the Barons."
"And for the matter of Falmar leading us, well, I asked him."
Falmar AC: 25 (26 with Sword ) HP 69/69 (Ednure elements, Aura of Courage, ), Monday December 21st, 2009 12:49:25 PM
Falmar looks around and dons a sideways smirk at all the leader talk...
" Gilan may be more appropriate for a scout if he can shape into something that they would not recognize as a scout....or Tishe' if I make her invisible. "
" I think we can weave the cost of a boat if everyone contributes...but that can wait until we finish with whoever these grass eaters are. "
Falmar looks to Gilan and Tishe'... " you can flip for it, or volunteer, either of you wouldn't warp me."

With a plan devised the group starts out in the direction that the pursueing group has gone. With his extra abilities to shapechange, Gilan is decided upon as the scout. Tishe' maybe following him as well though in what form she is going to take, that is not certain.
The rest of the group had been talking about the purchase of a druidwood ship and some of the pack have decided to kick in to buy one.
Further ahead of the group, Gilan in the form of a large Sargrass wasp, flied in pursuit of the group that is ahead of them. Being able to move faster than the group behind or in front of him, he soon catches up to them. What Gilan finds he is not totally sure, but they are large snake type people with a pair of very large snakes with them. He relays this back to the Bloodpack through the link that they all share.
One of the humanoid snakes spots the large wasp and takes a swat at him as he buzzes by[hit: 36 and damage: 7].

Grymash d20+18=23 ; Tuesday December 22nd, 2009 8:06:12 PM
Grymash takes a moment to rest and take a drink of water. He observes his tracks he's been following and notices that they're becoming fresher. He then sets off in that direction.

Gilan [HP: / - AC: ] [wildshape: ] [endure elements, longstrider] Tuesday December 22nd, 2009 9:35:33 PM
Gilan had been about to mention that the things were alive through their link, when he was blindsided by a hand to his oversized wasp body. It sent him tumbling into the grass and thankfully he was soon lost to the things...or at least he hoped.
Shaking his little head he tries to clear the ringing as he finally is able to speak through the link. <i>"They are most definitly alive."</i> He did not bother to mention that they hit hard as well.

Gilan relays back his message though if anyone was paying really good attention to the links they share, they might realize that something else happened.
The group is still moving away, despite the hand that smacked the large wasp. There was only a mutter about oversized bugs and nothing else till they were gone.
The Bloodpack as a whole is slowly catching up to the area that Gilan now finds himself shaking off his impromptu flight. He buzzes agrily and you realize from the path that you are only maybe a few minutes behind your quarry now.
[Everyone is together again, so Grymash and Yanosh have caught up with the rest. Sorry if I did not make that clear earlier.]

Tishe' winces as the Status effect of the Mark of Gargul allows her to feel the smack that hit Gilan.
"We're getting closer. Gilan, did it look like they are hunting or travelling? Anything to indicate what thier motives are here in the Sargrass?"
Tishe' looks at Falmar, and wonders if the group is going to have a plan when they finally catch up. Will it be 'stand and deliver', 'can I help you', or 'attack!' ? She just doesn't know yet.

Gilan buzzed himself into a standing position on some of the grass and checks to make sure that everything works fine. With a final buzz, he sends back messages through the link. "They are most definitely hunting but I am not sure what their purpose is. All that was said was something about giant insects in the hole and then a loud crack." He hated to admitt that he had been hit but it was still there even if he did not say it.
Waiting for them to catch up, he is wondering what the plan will be himself. "We are only a few minutes behind them. We should catch them very soon.....plan yet?"

Falmar uses Gargul's gift...
" Gilan, Can you see ahead of them ? Are they chasing anyone ? Would we be able to travel around them and get between them and their prey ? "
" If we can get in front of them we could make a stand and force them to either stop their pursuit or have to go through us to get to them. If not does anyone have an idea to get them to stop ? IF they don't stop can we immobilize them and cone at them from both sides and above?"
Tishe' (AC 12 HP 77 /77) Thursday December 24th, 2009 2:33:26 PM
" I can cast two Fly spells, one on Grymash and one on Falmar. Those two can then pick up Yanosh and me and we can fly ahead of the snake-taurs faster than we can go through the Grass. We can get ahead of them and establish a roadblock."
Tishe' readies her actions based on Falmar's decision. She can cast Fly on Grymash, and then use her Pearl of Power to recall and cast it again on Falmar. Getting picked up and flying over the Grasses, the two heroes can take Yanosh and Tishe' flying with a heavy load at 40 foor per move and 80 feet per double move (ie round) for nine minutes. Should give us plenty of time to get around them if we are so close.

Before the group reaches him with the questioning, he buzzes his wings. It was all that he could do since he could not smile. Through the link he speaks again. "Oh, I can slow them down for us no problem." He waits though to see if his plan should be put into action or if he is going to be asked for more details. Either way he knows that he can do this and still give the group the time to get in front of them. The only problem is that it will most likely give the enemy the idea that someone is around.

" Hopefully we'll be able to find an open area for the confrontation....."

As Tishe' casts her spells so that the group can fly, Gilan makes his move out over top of the grass. Grymash and Falmar each pick up a packmember and fly them over the top of the grass to get ahead of the group of snakemen that are chasing someone.
Gilan slows the snakemen down but funneling them through certain areas of the grass, forcing them to find ways through it.
Falmar at one point gets a good look at the snakemen and large snake that Gilan was talking about. Yanosh and Tishe' only catch the movements in the grass and seeing only shadows. Meanwhile Gilan stays closer to the back of the group so that he can hit the enemy from behind.
The pincer attack is all set though it is not sure what the enemy might already know or suspect.

Straining his ears, he buzzed forward a little towards the enemy. Through the Mark they shared he sent out a silent call to the others. <"Are we in place? Let me know when to spring the trap." His wings buzzed with anticipation as he silently waited for the signal to begin.
