Torgon AC: 30 HP : 169/169
Monday May 10th, 2010 8:16:14 AM

OOC: Good to be playing with you John. I have relatively recently returned to the Wold, and joined the CoC, so I am still getting used to everyone's styles, and what has happened in the past of the campaign. I really don't have any goals for my character at this time, the Gods gave him a sign to join the CoC, and he's been trying to keep up with them ever since. At the moment, he's still just going with the flow. As far as my goals, I am just looking to have some fun with a good group of people, and that's going fine. I am pretty laid back and not gonna get to uptight about anything. Let er rip, we should all be just fine together.

Active spells:
Longstrider (+10 base spd) (duration: 18 hours)

On the way back into town, the girl rogue muses upon the mess into which things seem to have fallen. You'd think life would be simpler than this. Some folks even complain about life being ... boring.

I mean, what does it take to start a little trading company? Maybe trade some goods from this Southie land back home? And maybe ... maybe ... find Wynn. She sighs.

Maybe it would be best to do like Holly and just settle down somewhere and open a shop. 'Cause, if there's one thing that a girl notices from being caught up in all these Wold breaking threat thingies, it's that life gets lonely. It's like, the Chaos Guys are nice enough and all. But, there's never much time to sit down with them and just get to know them. Maybe it's being new. Maybe that's it. Maybe just try and make some friends in this new Southie land and not keep moping around 'bout Wynn so much.

The white walls of the town draw near. Looks like part of the wall's been broke in. The roofs - some of them - look like their different colors. Weerdo stuff. But the sky is still blue. And the ocean still stretches off to the horizon. The Wold is still big and still a beautiful place.

I tried to answer as many of the questions IC as possible. But the last one, in particular, escapes me.

Personally, I'm a story oriented person. I do this largely to hone my writing skills. I strive to realize as full and detailed a character as possible. In order to accomplish that, it's best to have a highly detailed environment with which to interact. This includes both a social and political environment as well as a physical one.

I realize, though, that it can be difficult and time consuming to provide this, especially at the higher levels in which the characters have the power and freedom to involve themselves in a much greater breadth of social strata as well as cover much greater physical distances. So, though, that's the kind of style of play that I prefer, I'm realistic about my expectations.

Peerimus AC 34 HP 104/131 and Yorrick AC 42 HP 69/160
Monday May 10th, 2010 3:31:38 PM

OOC John- I agree with rash that the group a bit back had talkedd on the Dragon Status thing and had decided that they were not interested in doing that. In game it came down to not wanting to be subserviant, that was our impression, of the northen continent powers and gods. Peerimus is especially agianst anything that has that sort of flavor. He has a bit a of a little brother complex when it comes to the gods, heroes and politics of the north. On a personal level the druid has been trying to create a coalition of nature to be able to band together and stand against intrusions of the 'civilized Wold' in that respects he has made several contacts with the temple of Mittiri in Hook city and a few fey. Peerimus feels that the natural world needs protection. HIt came home keeenly during the rising of the Fey King when to his mind all that happened was the Wold itself awakening and taking exception to what it found. He feels it was man and the gods actions and abuse of the Wold that lead to the results

Peerimus is the appointed leader and longest standing member of the CoC. It's the first Druid I have ever played and I've tried to make him as balanced as I can to maintain effectiveness in any situation. As a Player I am highly combat orinentated, but i do enjoy roleplaying to further a storyline and very much using past PC experiences coming full circle on things. On that note I have loved the Great Migration circle back to the bell and all it has entailed.

Firn'gaer HP: 50/119; AC20 (T15); Arcane Sight, Detect Magic, Endure Elements, See Invisibility, Read Magic, SR18
Monday May 10th, 2010 9:59:47 PM

OOC: Firn'gaer doesn't have any long term goals. As with Peerimus and Rash, Firn'gaer doesn't see the need to be titled "Dragon". It would give him some respect from the Northern Continent, where he is originally from, but his view of the curse of the tattoo has been replaced with a feeling of duty to his adoptive home. He was a member of the Star Mage Guild, but has distanced himself from that organization. He is currently building himself a place in the mountains, which he may some day turn into a school of magic.

I like a more combat oriented style of play with some role-playing.

Getting Back to Town (DM JohnP)
Monday May 10th, 2010 11:16:54 PM

The Children of Chaos finish gathering what items and loot remain from the latest battle here in Peerimus' Grove. The Grove, at least, is a suitable temporary resting place for the Chaos Bell and Cube of Law. Everyone is thinking of what they might find in town, particularly the chance of a chance to buy and sell within the Catacombs.

Of course, the town seems to have suffered slightly either during the battle or from the random effects of the Chaos Bell. Or, it could be from some random shaking or tremor caused by the continuing Great Migration.

Tomorrow will tell exactly what they find in town.

Xenia (AC33/ HP103/103)
Tuesday May 11th, 2010 10:08:12 AM

Deck oh Cards. The deck burns a hole in the dark girl's thoughts as she walks through the grass back towards Heranmar. Years of experience coaxing and teasing objects of power into performing for her speaks, and what that experience says is that this deck cannot possibly be simply for the playing of games.

The Crone Girls have already shown the level of power that they play with, and that level is pretty powerful. What sort of things might this Deck (with a capital Dee) do? It flashes upon the imagination of the rogue, then, that this Deck might do just the same thing as that Knot of Druis weerdo thing did back when the Chaos Guys first met up with the Crimson Shields. At that time, the Knot of Druis had turned Firn'gaer from a human into a gnome. It turned Lang into a bugbear. It gave Wynn gills like a fish. It gave Belkior legs like a cat.

What would this Deck thingie do?

Xenia ponders the questions of just what this Deck o Many Cards might do for - or to - a person who might try to make it work. She ponders the question of whether she herself might want to try it or not. And she ponders the question of what the Crone Girl was thinking when she decided to give up this Deck to the Chaos Guys as a thing to help them manage this out of control Migration thing.

Peerimus AC 34 HP 104/131 and Yorrick AC 42 HP 69/160
Tuesday May 11th, 2010 8:49:51 PM

Peerimus's thoughts mirror many of those of Xenia, though the druid doesn't know it. The bag of Holding and gems were one thing, tools to be used to equip themselves for what would hopefully be the final push to bring peace to the lands, to end what they began. Even the Flask, as powerful as the enchanments wrought upon it, given Firngaer's description of what it does and the limits of its power, resign it to be sold and the money used to further this last push. The Deck though, like the Items of Fate, was no such thing. No crafting of mortal man no matter thier power could do what the Deck laid before them by the Daughter of the Crones could likely do. The last item that was so bartered away spelled doom for he who did so as well as his entire family and following.

"The Deck is a gift from the Crones and such gifts are not to be viewed lightly or dismissed easily." It's all he says, all he can muster currently. The group needed to see about the Catacombs and the extent of the damage to Heranmar

Rash/George
Tuesday May 11th, 2010 9:07:53 PM

(OOC I posted Rash's actions for the night a couple of days ago. Trying to not get to far ahead.)

Rash will listen to Peerimus and say, "I have heard of this deck and while its benefits can be nice, it drawbacks can be devastating. It can provide wishes." Rash points at Firn'gaer and then to herself and says, "So do we." It can provide magic, money, servants and even castles. It can provide experience and more power. We already have magic, money and power and the amount we would get would be minimal to what we already have.

On the other hand, we could lose all of our possessions. We could lose our minds and even our lives. I don't want to stand in front of Gargul begging for a life back because we chose to draw a card. This deck represents a shortcut. We have already travelled the long road. Do we need the shortcut? Can we risk it with the migration still going. Our numbers are dwindling. Jurgen and Trace are both gone. Can we afford to lose another. Do we have the time to bring them back? I vote we leave the deck alone, sell it, or give it to another. This is to dangerous right now."

Kazak Stonewall.Ac 36 Hp 203/212)
Tuesday May 11th, 2010 11:01:36 PM

The dwarf nods at Rash Trinka assement ... " yup .... i'm of da same mind on da cards .... too much risk if ya ask me ....we have lots more to lose then we did yaers ago when we was just a starting out on our own in da wold "

" i'm not gonna draw any cards " growls Kazak

The Morning After (DM JohnP)
Tuesday May 11th, 2010 11:06:09 PM

The Children of Chaos spend a relaxing evening, dining and discussing what to do with the items granted them at the conclusion of the battle. No decision is reached, however, and everyone retires to spend some time to individually contemplate the decision.

Once morning comes, everyone wants to see what has happened within the town. Besides the damaged wall and the altered roofs of several buildings, nothing major seems to have occurred. Sure, there was someone complaining about how their chickens had suddenly become any number of iridescent colours (although a milliner was apparently already bidding on their feathers). And one neighbourhood seemed to be plagued by either a phantom barking sound or a pack on invisible, constantly barking lapdogs.

The most important change, to most of them, was overheard in the common room during breakfast. An outlet of the fabled Catacombs had reappeared within the town. When the Children investigate, the counterperson admonishes them.

"Quick! We're not sure how long we'll be here, and we can't be responsible if you get moved when it's over!"

OOC - Catacombs are open. Have at it.

Rash
Tuesday May 11th, 2010 11:28:51 PM

Rash will wake the next morning and decide to go to the Catacombs while the going is good. "Xenia give me the items we want to sell and I will take care of it. I am going to the Catacombs anyway." (ooc Catacombs is currently swamped with customers! Gonna be a while)

Torgon AC: 30 HP : 169/169
Wednesday May 12th, 2010 10:28:12 AM

Torgon will follow Rash to the catacombs, wishing to go himself. (Do we have a split amount on money to this point. To be honest, i haven't kept track of that.)

"I believe i need a new shield to replace the one that stupid ant destroyed.... unless i find something better. And as far as the deck goes my friends, I will be passing on a draw. Now is too critical a time for something bad to happen to one of us where he or she would need saving."

Xenia (AC33/ HP103/103)
Wednesday May 12th, 2010 12:52:08 PM

"Sure. 'Kay." The girl rogue hauls the bag of holding up from under the table where it lands with a thud among the breakfast things. Pulling out the gems first, the girl rogue puts on her Serious Business Face while she sorts through the gems and such, dividing things up by the worth of the gems into seven equal piles.

"Maybe Durgan and Kazak can get us a good price for that metal scrap. I figure it's worth some five thousand gold klinkies. (Kinda creepy when you think that it's the flesh and bones of them Mecha guys, though.)"

"Here's a couple of swords (+2) and here's that Iron Flask. I figure you should be able to sell the swords for 7483 gold and five silver klinkies. The Flasks should get us 277967 gold. All together, in a seven way split, that makes 39709 gee and pee for each of us."

Xenia stuffs the swords and the flask back into the bag of holding and pushes them in the direction of Momma Rash. But, not before extracting the last item and placing it in the center of the table: The Deck of Many Things.

"I know you guys have decided that you don't wanna try this. I un'erstand that. But Waard would look badly on me if I didn't put my faith in him and try it. Um ... Waard's this god we got up north who wrangles Luck and Chance," she explains for the Southies in the group - which is most of them. "The only question is ... how many cards am I gonna take? I'm gonna hold onto the cards for now. Till I can decide. You decide you wanna take a card after all, I'll have the deck."

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Question: How much downtime will we have, DM? I'd like to craft some of the magic items that Xenia will purchase and that will require time. Ideally, I'd like to craft an upgrade to her Periapt of Wisdom (20 days); an upgrade to her Gloves of Dexterity (20 days); and a Robe of Blending (30 days).

Peerimus AC 34 HP 104/131 and Yorrick AC 42 HP 69/160
Wednesday May 12th, 2010 9:55:37 PM

Peerimus listens to Rash, the cleric makes good sense. What they do know seems to say that drawing the cards could bring minor boon and possibly great misfortune. But the nagging thought of the fact that the Crones had given them the Deck gnawed at him. He knew that Rash was right, he could even hear the words leaving him, agreeing with Rash and Kazak, "Very true observations my friends." But even still his mind and heart knew that he would be drawing.

Peerimus is about to hand Torgon his shield and then remembers that the newest member of the Champions of Chaos is a minotaur. His shield would not help, well not directly. Peerimus gives the animated shield to him anyway. "You lost yours coming to our aid. I have no need of this, use the proceeds to purchase yourself a new one." [+2 Large wooden Animated Shield]

Xenia would hold onto the Deck, that was perfectly fine, but Peerimus found his mind remembering that he still had a promise to keep with her. He would find and deliver her to Wynn.

Peerimus will make 2 draws from the Deck

A Day in Town (DM JohnP)
Wednesday May 12th, 2010 11:14:20 PM

The Children of Chaos have a day for shopping, sight seeing or performing deeds of general charity. Unfortunately, no one thinks that leaving the Cube and Bell in the grove is a suitable long term solution. Especially since the Great Migration will continue until both are taken to the Valley of Ahl. Every day spent here is another day of the lands of the Southern Continent potentially moving, with the resulting destruction and disruption resulting from that. Still, perhaps some think that is the best way for the South to continue.

OOC - I'll try to handle your Catacombs transactions. I'm also trying to figure how / what to do with the Deck.

All in all, expect to get going again next week.

Torgon looks at Peerimus in amazement. "Surely that is a wonderful gift Peerimus, thank you. I shall use it's proceeds to do just that, and hopefully purchase a few other things to help us in our quests."

"Would one of you with spells greater than mine be so kind as to cast a greater dispel magic into my ring of counterspells? That was mostly what our opponents were throwing at me, and I am not able to cast such a spell yet."

Torgon heads off to the Catacombs.

The quiet green eyes in Xenia's dark face watch the hands as they draw cards from The Deck. First Firn'gaer. One, two, three. Then Peerimus. One ... two.

"Um ... I was thinking two also," she says to no one in particular before reaching out a gloved hand to draw two mysterious cards from the Deck of Many Things.

Shopping ... and a Word of Caution (DM JohnP)
Thursday May 13th, 2010 10:54:45 PM

The Children of Chaos manage not to trample anyone in their rush to the recently opened outlet of the Catacombs in Heranmar. Fortunately, service appears to be prompt, if a bit surly.

People have been thinking about drawing some cards from the Deck but a tiny voice of caution intrudes. Sometimes, well, only 1 time in 22, the Deck summons a monster. Maybe it would be best to use this item outside the town?

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

OOC: DM Update

1. Catacombs transactions are being completed.

2. Anyone who wishes to draw cards from the Deck of Many Things should roll a d20 for each draw. Yes, this means that there are two cards that I don't want to deal with. If anyone draws a card requiring combat, we'll deal with that next week.

3. Downtime depends on how long the group wants it to be. The Cube and Bell are temporarily safe in the Grove but do have to be moved to the Valley. The Great Migration continues until this movement has happened.

In other words, if you want to stay here for 40+ days, you can. But the lands of the Southern Continent will continue to shift randomly, meaning that what lies beyond the border may change and more destruction might occur in Heranmar and the other places important to the characters.

She reaches out and takes one. She pulls the Star. (+2 on an ability score)

Rash is almost shocked that something good happened and she bows her head in prayer thanking the Powers. (Will give Rash +2 on Wisdom bringing it to 29)

She will step back and watch as the others pick their cards hoping for the best and expecting the worse. She knows to well that the powers are fickle.

The cards blur. Some of the things that Fernie had said that could be done to you. Xenia's heart begins to pound loud in her ears in a way that it never had even when faced with dragons or demons, or gimungus night worms.

The Fates. The Seven of Cups.

That doesn't seem so bad. How can that be so bad? Fates and Cups. She looks forward to the outcome ... But then the cards change.

The Devil. The Idiot.

That don't sound so good. That feels bad. There's a twisty sort of sickness in the pit of the dark girl's stomach, and she blinks her eyes hard. And when she opens them ... The cards are different again.

The Hierophant. And again The Hierophant.

Two cards, the same. The twin cards stare up at her from within her gloved hands. They don't change. For some reason (the pictures don't even look anything like him) the cards remind her of Belkie. What a weerdo thing. Xenia waits for the result, wondering what will happen next.

Highlight to display spoiler: {} Rash is asking if touching the Chaos Bell restores her Chaos Tattoo. I would recommend yes, thus showing the increase of Chaos, but you can as easily say no, based on everything being more chaotic! :-)

Hey all

There's some housekeeping that I need to do.

I need current e-mail addresses from everyone. Please send an e-mail to john_e_petherick AT yahoo DOT com from the address that you prefer for the Children of Chaos.

I have to review character sheets, too.

OOC: Will adjust CS for 10,000 xp.

Peerimus looks a the two cards. The Moon and the Comet. He finds himself slowly nodding, as the knowledge flows into his mind on the significance of the cards themselves. 4 Wishes and the chance to expand his knowledge and skills even more.
Comet - Defeat the next monster or Monsters encountered singl hanedly and gain a level
Moon receive 1-4 wishes (4)

Might be something in the Iron flask. Check out the Catacombs if you aren't already.

The Deck Draws (JohnP)  d100=22 ; d100=89 ; d100=72 ; d100=73 ; d100=42 ; d100=17 ; d100=49 ; d100=59 ;
Monday May 17th, 2010 10:59:11 PM

Firn'gaer draws four cards from the Deck. The first bears the countenance of the Vizier. The second card seemed to be the Idiot but it shifted within his fingers and turned out to be the Fool and Euryale. The final card was the Vizier again.

Xenia draws two cards. She almost drew the Flames but shifted her hand slightly and pulled out the Key. The second was same, where she almost drew the Idiot but adjusted and drew the Key again.

Durgan draws three cards. The first and third are the Moon. The second seemed to be Talons but Durgan adjusted his draw and pulled out the Gem.

Torgon drew two cards. The first is the Jester and the second is the Vizier.

Rash pulls out the Star.

Peerimus draws the Comet and the Moon.

================================================

OOC -- Resolving the Deck Draws

Firn'gaer -- adjust your CS to apply the -10,000 experience penalty and the -1 penalty to saving throws. Note the two Vizier cards, as well.

Xenia -- you win a +4 longbow and an Axiomatic +3 rapier

Durgan -- Note the 2 wishes on your CS. Please refer to the spell description to determine what you can do with the wishes.

Torgon -- adjust your CS to apply the 10,000 experience bonus and note the Vizier card, too.

Rash -- I need to see your character sheet. The total inherent bonus to any stat provided by repeated uses of the Wish spell or something like the Tome of Understanding is +5.

Peerimus -- well, we'll see what you have to fight. It's supposed to be a solo fight, too. Note the Wishes on your CS.

Xenia (AC33/ HP103/103)
Tuesday May 18th, 2010 10:41:54 AM

The cards blossom. They bloom in Xenia's hands, growing, swelling, and reshaping themselves into a bow and into a thin and stylish sword!

A big white grin spreads across the dark face of the red-headed girl. She strikes a pose and draws back on the string of the bow. But in the process, the lower end of the bow drags across the ground. The elven longbow is half again as tall as she, and much too big for her to wield in the style that she is accustomed to.

Well, there's always the rapier. Thin and shiny - unlike her own dark blade - the silvery hilt has an elegant filigreed basket woven around the hilt. With a jaunty grin, Xenia grips the hilt only to be met with a flare of sparks from which she quickly jerks back her hand.

Her natural alignment is contrary to that of the rapier. It will not allow her to wield it.

Xenia frowns. "Well, looks like I'll be making another trip to the Catacombs." The rogue sighs. "Looking around, she observes the results of the other cards. Some of them look bad. But some contain wishes. Maybe some of the wishes could even be used to undo some of the bad cards drawn. She shoulders the bow and sword, waiting for the others to take in the consequences of the Deck of Many Things.

Peerimus AC 34 HP 137/137 and Yorrick AC 42 HP 160/160
Tuesday May 18th, 2010 9:35:29 PM

ooC would Yorrick be considered assistance in a fight as he essentially is part of a druids character. Yorrick is a class ability.

The druid knows precisely what he will do with the wishes. They could create or enhance magic Items and that is precisely what he intended to accomplish. Resistance for Yorrick's amulet Strength for his belt and Endurance for his Periapt. The druid was nodding as his mind moved through the process of what he hoped to accomplish. Other thoughts raced through, he could use one possibly to locate a treant willing to relocate to his grove or perhaps one looking to become a Defender of the Land or perhaps a book to unlock the secrets of crafting a powerful golem. Peerimus's mind started to buzz, he possessed but three wishes as one would be used to take them to the Valley. He would use one to bolster Yorrick, leaving two. Peerimus tears himself to focus on the present.

"My last wish will take us to the Valley of Ahl in the morning after our normal preparations. As to if we can undue what the deck has done, I am not sure. The knowlegde imparted by the cards to me leaves me undecided as to whether or not that is within thier powers."

•Create a magic item, or add to the powers of an existing magic item.
•Transport travelers. A wish can lift one creature per caster level from anywhere on any plane and place those creatures anywhere else on any plane regardless of local conditions
•Undo misfortune. A wish can undo a single recent event. The wish forces a reroll of any roll made within the last round (including your last turn). Reality reshapes itself to accommodate the new result. For example, a wish could undo an opponent's successful save, a foe's successful critical hit (either the attack roll or the critical roll), a friend's failed save, and so on. The reroll, however, may be as bad as or worse than the original roll. An unwilling target gets a Will save to negate the effect, and spell resistance (if any) applies. Little help requested on this on Jeff. If possible then yes Peerimus will use a wish to try and overcome the -10k draw to Firngaer

I have not solidified my thoughts on the other 2 yet.

More Housekeeping (JohnP)
Tuesday May 18th, 2010 10:47:33 PM

OOC - I apologize for all of the housekeeping. I'd rather get the Catacombs and the Deck out of the way before embarking on the next module.

Everyone continues to deal with the consequences of the Deck of Many Things. After all the drawing, the deck continues to sit there as if it were taunting anyone to use it again.

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Let me know if there is anything still to happen in the Catacombs.

Rash - your Catcombs purchase is complete

Kazak - I apologize for the confusion in the Catacombs. I've revised your purchase with the Toros' Philters.

Durgan -- okay, you need to use the Wishes right away.

Torgon -- your Catacombs purchase is complete.

Rash -- adjust your Wisdom by +2

Peerimus -- yes, you can use a Wish to undo the -10,000 experience penalty to Firn'gaer. Please clearly state the use of the other two Wishes. As for the combat, I'm still working on a way to resolve this in game.

Heranmar (JohnP)
Wednesday May 19th, 2010 11:03:56 PM

The Children of Chaos complete their shopping and other tasks within the town near Peerimus' Grove. The people of the town are coming to grips with the changes wrought by the Great Migration and magic of the Chaos Bell, what with the changed colours of some buildings and the destruction of sections of the town wall. Still, the mood within the town is hopeful.

Out in the Grove, Peerimus surveys the damage caused by the recent combat. Already, perhaps aided by the magic of the Chaos Bell, there is an abundance of new growth to replace the trees and other flora. On the other hand, maybe drawn by the new growth, there seem to be more social insects such as ants and wasps within the Grove.

Xenia (AC33/ HP103/103)
Thursday May 20th, 2010 2:13:35 PM

Come evening time, Xenia returns to the Inn dressed in a new black robe. Around her head a second stone orbits her crown, this one is pale green.

"Holly says to should do to start a business is to start with some clients. Once you got some folks interested in buying stuff you got to offer, you can start thinking of whether you wanna start setting down some roots in a shop or not."

She folds herself into one of the chairs around the table at which the Chaos Guys are seated and plucks a chip of wood, left from her bow carving off of the fall of the new robe.

"She says it can all start with just one job. Move some merchandise or information for one guy. If you like it, see if anyone is interested in the same and go from there."

The girl rogue orders bread, cheese and a bowl of strawberries.

"Um ... Fernie ... " Xenia reaches into her pouch as the waitress moves off in the direction of the kitchen. "While I was in the Catacombs, I boughtcha sump'in." On the table between herself and the gnome, Xenia places a small stone the size of the ball of her thumb. Plain and unassuming at first glance, if observed with greater care, one detects a faint glow about the stone, a glow of something special but difficult to define. "It's a lucky stone. I thought ... I thought it might help you. Maybe cheer you up if nothing else. It's for you."

Firn'gaer: gets Luckstone.

Thursday May 20th, 2010 9:11:23 PM

Peerimus notes the insects and the growth, likely a joint cause of the Bell and the Cube. Being satisfied that nothing is amiss or in danger he meets with the group at the inn. "I think we should meet at the main gates and you are quite welcome Torgon." Peerimus sists back and then aftera moment or two of inner decision speaks again, "Tomorrow morning, just inside of the wood line I plan to meet with a Planetar for a few minutes. If any of you are interested, please stop in." He continues, "I have noted that the wild growth about the Grove is greatly excellerated this afternoon. I surmise it is from the proximity of the Chaos Bell. There is also a good deal of colony insect life. Ants and bees for example, and they are likely being drawn by the Cube. In case the Deck's wish fails we should have an alternate plan. With that in mind, The echoes from the Edge seemed to indicate that we have been to the Valley before and if that is the case, we let from here and I believe the Daughter of the Crones could assist us again. In the morning someone should speak with her on the matter."

Peerimus enjoys a large meal, as does Yorrick. "Xenia are you thinking of possibly settling down in this area then?"

In the morning Peerimus will trade Whirlwind to spontenously cast Greater Planar Ally to bring a Planetar for a relatively short conversation into an area just inside of the wooded area, but outside of the hallowed section of the Grove.

Last Minute (JohnP)
Thursday May 20th, 2010 10:48:45 PM

A day or so ago, before she drew from the Deck, Rash had tried to scrub what she thought was some dirt from her arm. When she failed to do so, the cleric thought that the mark was some bruise that she couldn't remember getting during the fight. However, the "bruise" darkened over the next several days instead of fading. Finally, Rash realized that mark was slowly taking the form of the Chaos Tattoo that she once wore.

When Rash meets with Torgon and Peerimus, she tells them that the Chaos Tattoo has nearly returned. Torgon has prepared himself to venture forth but Peerimus announces plans to summon another celestial representative for information or assistance. Xenia comes back from shopping with new clothes, although Rash is the only one to pay much attention. The half-elf's talk of settling down, going to business rather than seeking adventure prompts discussion amongst her companions.

On the following morning, Peerimus gives his companions some time to join him. Just as well might not have, since nothing happens when Peerimus tries to cast a spell normally reserved for the servants of the Gods of the Wold and Testing.

OOC - DM Apology - It's a long weekend here in Canada and I'm taking tomorrow off. Expect the next post from me to occur on Sunday night (unless I'm too beat from driving all day).

Rash stares at her renewed tattoo as she clumps down the stairs to get some breakfast. The smell of cooking bacon and eggs strikes her wrong and holding hand to mouth she bolts outside to heave up the contents of her stomach in the shrubs.

She wipes her hand across her mouth wondering what brought that on. She normally loves the smell of cooking breakfast. In fact the only time that ever had that reaction.....Rash's eyes go wide and her hands drift to her stomach. "The only time that ever happened before was when she was carrying her kids." Rash's mind runs into a whirl. "She is to old. It is impossible! Damn that man!"

Rash moves into the Inn and asks for some tea and toast pondering this course of events. Could it be the Powers are telling her it is time to settle down. Is the damn Chaos Bell effecting her? Could of all the healing and almost death she has experienced lately changed her system." She sits, her gaze wondering off into space, thinking very hard.

She stays there most of the day until Peerimus summons them to go to the Valley.

Maybe he doesn't like it. Maybe he's too, you know, like, proud to accept it. Some folks are like that. Even when they get kicked down, they don't like to accept help from others who they don't know too well.

Xenia still, looks at Firn'gaer and the Luckstone in anticipation of what he might do or say.

"Um ... I dunno yet," she says in reply to Peerimus' query. "Depends on what kinda business I can scare up. Hook City looks nice. Or Plateau City. Dunno that you've ever been there." She takes her eyes off of Firn'gaer momentarily and her dark face smiles in the direction of Peerimus. "But it's nice. Maybe trade sump'in between the North and South. But first I gotta find sump'in that you got down here that we don't got up north, and vice around the other way too."

"And I gotta look for Wynn." Xenia's eyes drop to the table. "I gotta look for Wynn too."
