Attacking the Wizard's Lab


Attack upon the wizard stronghold (Dm Glenn)

Taking the lead Appolo checks for traps along the way, but doesn't find any traps along the path marked safe though the maze. Along with the 6 rounds of spell casting the careful trip though the maze takes another 10 rounds. According to the map you have one corner left about 30ft ahead of you before you enter the wizard lab area. You hear odd sounds coming from ahead and sounds of continued spell casting.

(ooc: map is coming with the next post. Currently you have 30+ feet of 5ft wide tunnel with a right turn into the lab area)

" Deva, when we are set to charge, please cast holy aura on each of us, you are fast so you should be able to keep pace with us. Also try and keep as many of us as you can inside your own protective aura. Tell me just before we are to go, I will start my own spells then Vauhwyt."

Vorelle moves methodically through the maze, relying on her sense of direction and the overall "feel" of the place. She stays alert for anything out of place.

Once they reach the entrance to the main cave and lair of the wizard Appolo looks around"Vauhwyt can you summon shadow servants to do your bidding,like scout the room we're about to enter.It would be nice to know what's in there and exactly were the girls are located.Otherwise I'll have to go in myself and look around abit before we charge in.If the scouting fails thenn the gigs up.Aztyr I want you to toss some foreballs in there as far as you if that happens and our scouting is discoveredEven if I'm in there don't worry about me just throw them in I'll get out of the way.Once the fireballs intial explosion disapetes then everyone else goes in.If the scouting is succesfull and we geta clear picture of what is in there and were the girls are,then we'll makea new plan.So what do you guys think?"

Vauhwyt says she can't do any summonin of shadows, sorry. She can go a-scouting on her own, in the shadows. She is really against any blind fireballing when the fledglings might be around.

Where does her spell give her a fix, anyway?

Bookkeeping: Before setting into the maze, she cast Heroism, Nemesis Insight, Reduce Person, and Pro Evil on herself. She also reduces Aztyr and Mal, if he wants it.

Mookie uses 6 charges of his CLW wand, or tries to: He gets off 5 of the 6.

Curing is 6, 7, 8, 3, and 8. I'll update hp totals later today.

Malgant instructs the Deva to cast holy aura on everyone as they start to charge, and asks Vauhwyt to dismiss his reduction.

Aztyr acknowledges her hounds as their magic expires.

Vorelle spots some track of drow heading the opposes direction along the path the group is now taking. They must have been the recently decease welcoming committee that greeted you in the entrance area.

Reaching the end of the maze Appolo ask if Vauwhyt can summon some shadow servants. Vauhwyt replies to the rouge about what she can do. The Locate spell is telling her the target is nearly due east (directly to the Right on the map)

You hear the magic casting reach a high pitch and feel vast energy released withing the wizards lab. You can see a multiple color light flicker on the on the walls of the tunnel just around the corner from the lab and Vauhwyt hears the sound of one of the fledglings screech as if it its essences if being ripped from it. At the same time you hear the primal utterance of another creature as the powers of creation transform it.

Aztyr will follow behind, and then try to move to a side, to allow others to get past. She still refrains from casting any new spells, waiting until she has a clearly defined target, and firing blind fireballs down the tunnel, while fun and something she would normally do, she realizes that if any of the chicks should get a feather singed at all by one, would make Vauhwyt very very angry.

"Screaming is BAD! Go, go, go..." Knowing it is bad, and knowing it is going to be hard, Malgant starts passing the others to get into the room. He is at least partially responsible for this and needs to balance the scales as he sees it. If that means eating whatever wards the wizard has set up, so be it.( Malgant quad moves. The third move action puts him at AI 9 subtract what you wish for squeezing past although I believe I can so long as I don't end in another person's square. From AI9 Malgant will move 20 feet further into the room, wherever it looks like it will do the most good(your call Glenn).)

Seeing the charge was on, Valanthe rushes into the room. It was reckless knowing that a fireball could explode in her face, but they had no time. (double move to AM 12.)

Aztyr waits, until Malgant charges forward into the the room in response to the screams and howls. The Deva follows to stand ready beside Malgant. Aztyr sees them moving quickly cast haste upon everyone in the group.

Turning invisible, Appolo follows Malgant and the Deva into the cave. He sees the fledginigs held in within the cages of the north east magic circle. Three of them are just unmoving heaps on the floor two are still active.

Valanthe recklessly moves in after the others.

Vauhwyt moves up peering into the wizard's room, and dismisses the reduction spell upon Malgant.
Aztyr moves up to see keeping covered by last corner.

The wizard's workshop is well lighted. You see several drow wariors about, The druid Dul standing near the cage holding the Harpy Girls, A wizard near the far wall preparing to start some magic spell and three monstrosity The monsters top half look like large drow warriors with black wings, the lower half of their bodies are that of a snake like body. Some large snake/humanoid barely moving is within the southern the cage & magic circle.

As you watch Dul moves one of the two remaining harpy chicks into the center of the northern magic circle as drow warrior takes up position within the middle magic circle.

The Wizard calls out to his guards and monstrosity "Deal with the intruders!" He starts to cast a spell of spell of great power and magic energies start to whorl around the all three magic circles.

The Drow winged snakes are unarmored an only wield a greatsword each.


The five drow around the wall take aim with their hand crossbows and fire at the three intruders in the center of the room.
One at Val (hit ac 34, dam 4 Plus Drow Poison Fort DC13 save or fall unconscious for 1 minute) one hits
Two at Mal (hit ac 20, 26 ) both miss
Two at the Deva (hit ac 31, 17 dam 3-10Dr = 0) one bolt hits the Angel but does no damage.

The first Monstrosity slithers forward sword swinging as a forked tongue darts in and out of the half drow's mouth. It swing at the Deva (hit ac 26 {nat 1}) and misses badly probably unaccustomed to it's new body size and shape. (Mal gets an AoO for reach on it).

The two other drow Monstrosity remain where they are and cast magic protections Spell Craft check DC16 Highlight to display spoiler: {Magic Armor}

The North west magic circle is also contained within a bar cage, but is empty. oddly enough it contains a large living tree too?

The roof is 25ft high.

Having been with the group long enough to know the Protector that called her the Deva acts immediately and without hesitation. She reaches out and touches Malgant before he can charge away from her granting him a holy aura.( cast defensively DC 23 rolled 24) " Fight well Protector, I will keep these things away from your friends back here." With that the Deva falls back to AI 9, and grits her teeth preparing to weather the assault of the abomination in front of her and any drow that go after Aztyr.

Not slowing as he moves into the room Malgant sees what he has to do. The spell must be stopped. Slashing at the abomination before him( AoO hit AC 33 12 damage +6 <holy>) he keeps going granting the abomination free shots at him as he passes, like an arrow fired at the wizard. Aztyr's spell speeds his feet and allows him to close the range enough to do what he hopes will ruin the wizards spell. He stretches out his hand and utters a single mind shattering word while pointing directly at the wizards eyes( end in AS/AT,9/10). The spell should cause the wizard to go blind. ( Cast defensively DC22 rolled 22, cast power word blind, no save, spell penetration 19, hero point used to reroll getting 25)(If affected the Wizard should need a DC33 concentration check 10 + DC of non damaging spell cast on him)

And now, back by popular demand, the rules.

Move cast move isn't an option, unless you have the spring attack feat. I know that works on melee. I think it would work on spellcasting too if the feat was arranged for that way when taken..

Double haste doesn't and hasn't ever existed. Every description of haste says it doesn't stack with other haste effects. To close the 120' needed to attack the wizard a hasted charge by someone that can move 30' normally would work....if there was a straight line for the charge. There isn't. Plus, activating the ring of invisibility is a standard action, which means no charge is possible. In order to get the extra attack from haste, one needs to make a full attack action, charging isn't a full attack. Oh and there is no "past" the wizard, his back is to the wall.

Valanthe keeps running. She was going to enjoy this. This was the first real fight she's had against drow. She was going to enjoy testing her skill against their reputation. Valanthe hoped they were as good as she's heard. At one time Valanthe wasn't that far from becoming like them. Staring at her face with jet black skin everyday did have a sobering effect.

"Your going to have to do much better than little darts to take me down." Valanthe says to the drow that shot her.

Last Round: Vauhwyt moves and removes the Reduce Person from Mal. Mookie uses his Protection from evil wand on Vauwhyt: UMD 22 = ok.

New Round: Vauhwyt's first inclination is to double move next to Dul and chew him a new one. But her training kicks in, and she calms her emotions. She moves to 15AR and casts Wall of Stone. Arcane Fail: 58 = ok. The wall is 10 feet high and 60 feet long. It extends from BC4 to BC8, and then from BC8 to BF8. In this way she hopes to seal the fledglings off from the wizard and Dul, and maybe blocking line of sight will stop the wizard's evil spell from affecting them.

Mookie takes out his wand of Ray of Enfeeblement and points it at monster C2. He hits touch AC28, or 31 with nemesis insight. His roll to overcome SR is a 15 if it is needed. The strength penalty inflicted is 2.

Vorelle move into the Lab, not wanting to miss out one the fun.

The Deva touches Malgant and falls back the monstrosity strikes at the Deva as she moves (AoO hit 33 dam 22) the great sword hits just barely, but cuts deeply never the less. Malgant easily hits the Monstrosty as it moved up then takes off for the wizard uttering a blinding word at him. The wizard is struck blind (Concentration check: 21 fail) and fumbles with the motions of the transfiguration process. The human curses the interfering Protector.

Aztyr steps into view and attempts to denigrate the blind wizard (fort Save 28) the ray hits the wizard, but he isn't going down yet.

The hasted and Invisible Appolo makes for the wizard as quickly as he can (double haste move 60x2=120ft, Can run due to clutter, PCs & NPCs) The rouge makes it next to the wizard, but doesn't have time to attack.

Valanthe easily shrugs off the poison darts and moves quickly across the battle field.

Wanting to go after Dul, Vauhwyt instead moves and creates a 10ft high wall of stone around the Fledglings. Mookie tries to Enfeeble a Monstrosity, but the ray from the wand fails to affect it (spell resistance 21)

Hearing someone move near by (listen 14) Wiz uses a powerful spell defensively to try and dispel the blindness (Defensive casting Concentration check 25, dispel Greater 38) The wizard defeats Mal spell and can see once again. Looking around he sees the stone wall and curses once again.

I didn't see a % roll and figure it got overlooked.

I assume the Monstrosity are not evil? No DR was applied to the Deva's damage. You had been reducing the Drow damage previously do to their evil nature. I added holy damage separately just in case

Also D0 and C3 need fort saves DC23 vs blindness for striking me if they are evil from the Holy Aura.

Seeing Val in trouble makes Malgant worry about trying to heal her, until he realizes he is facing three opponents to her one. He calls to her, " Hold on Val and crush that monster, I'm coming to help you once I clear my dance card here." 1) the Wizard's listen check wasn't high enough to hear Apollo's approach so he wouldn't have had a reason to cast defensively. I'm assuming Apollo would have taken the risk and attack the wizard while he was still blind, despite the two drow guards. (Using Appolo's attack roll from last post)

2) Critical on Val's Light Fortification armor (rolled 100!) no problem.
3) Monstrosity & Drow are evil (excluding Dul), but their weapon isn't so Deva's DR applies 22-10=12
4) Holy Aura vs D0, C3 (SR21 for both 21, 22, fort saves 12, 18 vs DC23) both are struck blind


Temporally invisible, Appolo hits the blind Wizard as he starts to cast the greater dispel cutting him deeply (Adding sneak attack DM roll +17 total 28) the injury causes the magic user to lose his spell casting (using same concentration check 25 vs DC38) leaving him still blind and very angry. With the attack Appolo is now visible to the drow guards.

Vauhwyt is unable to shift to the plane of shadows do to some sort of magical barrier within the lab preventing plane shifting. spellcraft DC26 Highlight to display spoiler: { Forbiddance (neutral,neutral)}

Malgant calls out for Val to hold on while he tries to clear his foes. He hits hard with the AoO as the monstrosity closed and he follows up with more attacks all which hit the blinded Monstrosity. It's badly wounded, but still has fight left in it.

The Deva grunts as she attacks back hitting twice hard. The Monstrosity avoids being stunned (fort 22 vs DC22).

Vorelle attacks the drow with all her axes and almost gets a critcal shot in. The drow is wounded, but still very much a threat.

Seeing Val in trouble, Aztyr tries to Disintegrate it. The ray easly hits it and breaks through it's Spell Resistance (fort save 28 vs DC23), but it saves avoiding the worst of the spell. Aztyr takes cover behind the corner.

Appolo attacks the still blind wizard hitting him 3 times, then shifts back to the corner, but can't yet turn invisible (ooc: all three attacks get sneak attack damage since MU is blind. Sneak attack at 13th level is +7d6. Attacks dam: 11+29, 11+28, 13+26 tot=118 Also activating the invisibility ring is a standard action). The wizard slumps to the ground dead!

C2 attacks Val (35, 29, 28, 17 vs ac 36) but the warrior is able to deflect all the blows thanks to her defensive posture.

Aztyr seeing the wall spring up, and everything else going on, decides this is it, and casts Greater Invisability on herself, then makes as much of a move as she can trying to end up in at least AK,7 trying to reach AM,7 (her base move is 40 so.....)
Useing the message spell again, "I'm headed after the girls, and Dul. I know you'd prefer to Vauhwyt, but I can get there in a couple rounds, doing the best I can."

Being invisable and with the combat going on, she should remain mostly unnoticed by everyone else.

In a normal round, you can perform a standard action and a move action, or you can perform a full-round action. You can also perform one or more free actions. You can always take a move action in place of a standard action. ( copied from the SRD)

Haste does the following
The transmuted creatures move and act more quickly than normal. This extra speed has several effects.

When making a full attack action, a hasted creature may make one extra attack with any weapon he is holding. The attack is made using the creature's full base attack bonus, plus any modifiers appropriate to the situation. (This effect is not cumulative with similar effects, such as that provided by a weapon of speed, nor does it actually grant an extra action, so you can't use it to cast a second spell or otherwise take an extra action in the round.)

A hasted creature gains a +1 bonus on attack rolls and a +1 dodge bonus to AC and Reflex saves. Any condition that makes you lose your Dexterity bonus to Armor Class (if any) also makes you lose dodge bonuses.

All of the hasted creature's modes of movement (including land movement, burrow, climb, fly, and swim) increase by 30 feet, to a maximum of twice the subject's normal speed using that form of movement. This increase counts as an enhancement bonus, and it affects the creature's jumping distance as normal for increased speed.

Multiple haste effects don't stack. Haste dispels and counters slow. ( copied from the SRD)

So going invisible and moving ( 30' move + 30' for the haste) should constitute a full round

Running, is a full round action, described below
Run

You can run as a full-round action. (If you do, you do not also get a 5-foot step.) When you run, you can move up to four times your speed in a straight line (or three times your speed if you're in heavy armor). You lose any Dexterity bonus to AC unless you have the Run feat.

You can run for a number of rounds equal to your Constitution score, but after that you must make a DC 10 Constitution check to continue running. You must check again each round in which you continue to run, and the DC of this check increases by 1 for each check you have made. When you fail this check, you must stop running. Grinning with bloodlust the Deva continues her assault on the Monstrosity. ( still power attacking for 5). She hits three times( AC 20, 27, and 27) for 28 damage, 30 damage and 29 damage.total, 87 damage Fort save DC22 or stunned for 1d6 rounds( yes, Aztyr hasted the Deva as well). If she kills the Monstrosity she will move towards Val (5' step most likely)
Malgant also continues his assault on C3, landing 4 blows ( AC 35, 25, 23, and a crit chance of 35 with the horn gore confirmed with a 29 Any damage beyond that needed to drop the monstrosity to the floor goes on C2) hitting for 13+ 12 <Holy>, 13+ 6<Holy>, 17+ 7<Holy> and 13 (crit) damage. Glaring at the Drow, Malgant uses his Big Minotaur Voice to warn them, " Continue trying to hinder my progress across this room and your death will be far slower than these abominations and infinitely more painful. Aztyr decides to cast Greater Invisibility upon her self and move forward trying to get to Dul and the girls.

Vauhwyt gives Aztyr encouragement.

Round 1 Appolo Turns invisible and moves into the lab {standard + move}
Round 2 Hasted & invisible he double moves(120ft w/haste) next to blind wizard, and get AoO when wizard tried to cast a spell to dispel his blindness. {double move}
Round 3 he full attacks (3 attacks due to haste & level) blind wizard killing him. {full action} Note he tried to turn invisibility again , but didn't the the action to do so.
In round 3 post I did notice Appolo did make a move silent roll that was high enough with the movement adj that the wizard's listen check wasn't high enough to hear him approach. So made an addendum to the previous turn to give him the AoO In round 2. I believe we are still within the rules.)

You are correct that Appolo wasn't able to run which I noted in the dm post when he tried, but his hasted double speed was enough to get him next to the wizard. If he had run then he wouldn't have been able to make the AoO, but with a double move he still threats adjacent squares. Sorry if confused things.


Deva mounts her power assault on the Monstrosity hitting three times causing serious wounds with each blow of her mace. The monster is still up and resist the stunning blows (fort save 25).

Malgant continues his assault the blind Monstrosity. It takes three blows to finish it off! Leaving one more blow from the minotaur horns for the other Monstrosity! Malgant bellows a threat/promise at DUL.

Thinking about the powerful blows of her foe, Vorelle continues to chip away at the drow landing 4 out of 6 blows. Through many wounds the guard snarls back at her.

Val continues to defend her self.

Appolo uses his ring to turn invisible and move somewhere out from under the two drow, and looking for Dul.

Vauhwyt does something! (waiting for post take effect after foe, but before end of turn.)

Ok, I missed that he had gone invisible the round before, sorry.
The Deva leans close to Vorelle in the confusion of combat and says I need to be where you are deadstep to the side between these two buggers.( 5 foot step to AJ11 is the suggestion, 1st diagonal is a 5' step if I remember correctly and does not provoke an AoO) If Vorelle complies the Deva steps into her spot and once again unleashes a flurry of hasted attacks on the monstrosity. If/when it falls she will cleave into the drow and bestow any remaining attacks on the drow as well, hoping to finish both opponents and free herself and Vorelle for further fighting. ( I leave the cleave roll up to you as I don't know on what attack the thing might fall, she is power attacking for 5 so her damage bonus is +22) Crit ac 37 confirmed on AC 23 for 58 points of damage hit AC 33 for 23 damage, the rest are AC 17 and 8 misses. She hits twice.
Malgant wants to smash the monstrosity assaulting his love but knows that if it lands another blow on either one of them he will not be able to do much to save her. So, he goes with plan B. Malgant declares Val as his Interpose target for the round. He then casts defensively to cast heal on the battered elf warrior. Target 21( do I need to roll higher if I have a spell memed in a slot higher than it's level?) sucess rolled 26. His touch heals 140 points of damage on Val and cures any and all debilitating effects on her ( like the confusion if its still going) Face to face with the monstrosity he tells it " Don't worry monster, you put her on her heels before, now my dearest will show you pain. HIT HIM VAL!"

Question
The wall of thorns is now an object not a spell and no longer can be bypassed via spell resistance, correct? If I plunge into it now I make the damage vs AC check, not the SR check for it being an evil spell, right?

Also while incrementing my spells I saw a problem. Um my Invisibility purge is a 70' Radius, it would have negated alot of the invisibility going on in the room like Aztyr and Appolo. Not sure what you want to do with that.

Last round: Mookie hides in his pouch. Vauwhyt tumbles between and around her enemies, moving to 15AV. Tumble Check: 37. Then she casts AntiMagic Field. That suppresses her spells, and she grows to large size.

This round: She makes a double move through the thorns (the spell should be thwarted and suppressed within 10 feet) to the stone wall and over it. Non-magic enhanced Jump check 30. That gets her 7.5 feet up the wall, and she should be able to grab the top and go over. If a climb check is needed to do that, she gets a 10 to do so. If that's not good enough, she'll use a hero point to climb again, and gets a 28. (The wall is permanent nonmagical stone and not subject to the AM Field.)

That should put her over the top and down for her double move.

Also, as stated in the post the three magic circles in the room corners are enclosed in metal bars. there is a doorway into each one. The upper right one is open. The lower left one is closed. The upper right one is closed and blocked by the wall.

The bars prevent anything small or larger from passing, so you can't climb over the wall. Note the druid had to turn in to a tiny bird to get through the bars. - Dm Glenn)

Exactly right. The wall of stones, an instantaneous conjuration, is unaffected by the AMF. The wall of thorns, though, has a duration, and is affected. That's why Vauhwyt cannot dismiss the wall of stone.

What Vauhwyt can do is jump to the top of the stone wall, grab the bars, and hang on, perched up there. That way she can stay on top of the wall, balancing and holding onto a bar or two, and look down. Also, her AM Field extends down and into the barred area.

That's what she'll do, if that's okay.

Question: Would Stone Shape allow a bar or two to be removed? What about Shrink Item cast on a bar? What's the escape artist DC for Large Vauhwyt to slip between the bars? How about for Reduced Medium Vauhwyt? How about with a bar removed?

Also note -- is all the lighting in the room magical? If so, then none of that light extends into the AM Field. Does that give Vauwhyt concealment of some kind? If so, she will use her Hide skill as well, as she perches on top of the wall, at -5 for moving at speed, and with no magic bonuses ... Hide check 24 after applying the -5.

Ignoring the pain from her many viscious wounds and the blood pouring down her body beneath her armor, Valanthe grips her warhammer with what strength she has left. She pauses for a moment as her vision blurs, the monstrosity before her briefly splitting into two and then merging again. Feeling that skill and technique is out of the question, Valanthe simply bashes with her enchanted hammer.

ooc: power attack for -5/+5 1st hit critical nat 19 for ac 38. hit ac 38 to confirm for 64 (damage is 3d8+51. roller only goes to +50). 2nd attack misses ac 16. 3rd attack hits ac 24 for 24. With the switch to pathfinder perhaps somebody could increase the die bonus past 50. Some crits will need it.

Waiting until the last possible moment after the foe have moved, Vauhwyt tumbles away from her foes. As Mookie hides in a pouch. (ooc: needed two tumble checks, one for each foe first is DC15, second is DC17. Auto success with +21) She then creates an AntiMagic Field and immanently returns to her natural size as the Wall of thorns disappear around her.

Invisible Appolo activates his tattoo of Spider Climb and Climbs up the bars to see over the stone wall. He see Dul in drow form. He must have transformed back from a bird last time. He isn't aware of Appolo, but Appolo is too large to fit through the bars only something tiny could. He sees the five girls all are tied and gaged (helpless). Two appear to be unharmed, but three of them are collaped in a heap on the floor (it would take a heal check to verify their status). (ooc: Activating the tattoo is a standard action and climbing is a move action, so Appolo doesn't have a standard action left to make an attack even if he slip in. Looking to the 10ft gates Appolo sees that opening it would do no good since there is a stone wall blocking the opening.

[i](Info about the bars: A tiny creature can slip through the bars with no problem. A small character might be able to slip through the bar with a DC30 Escape Artist check and 1 min time. A medium has no chance.)


Aztyr ask for Vauhwyt to drop the stone wall not realizing the wall of stone is now a permanent fixture. The Liontaur uses her magic to start flying moving forward over the wall of thorns and still invisible.

The Deva calls for Vorelle to shift, which the ranger complies allowing the Deva to take her spot and renews her attacks on the monstrosity hitting him hitting him once criticality killing it. She then takes a cleave attack agisnt the drow (hit ac 18 {nat 1} ) missing, but continues to press her attacks aginst the drow hitting once more fatally wounding her foe.

Wanting to attack, Malgant instead cast a powerful healing prayer upon Val, doing so defensively.

Acting this round, Vauhwyt moves forward for the stone wall, Dul and her fledglings. Taking a flying leap she grabs hold of the bars with a heroic effort. The Monstrosity takes a swing at Vauhwyt as she moves (AoO hit ac 30 vs ac22 Dam 15 {removed magic bonus for both parties}) he tags the liontaur as she starts to move away. Vauhwyt can see Dul and the girls same a Appolo above. The AM field dosn't extend far enough to effect them.

(Info about bars. Removing 1 bar would enable a small creature to slip through or a medium to wiggle through with a escape check dc30 & 1min. Removing 3 bars would allow a medium creture to pass through and a large to wiggle through with an escape check dc30. Removing a bar would require a str check dc24 for each bar.
There is enough nonmagical light within the room to be normal level within the AM field.)


Feeling much healed by Mal's spell, Valanthe attacks the monstrosity putting all her power behind it hitting very hard the first time and again with her last blow. (massive damage >50pt save: 17 vs dc15) you've gotten the monstrosity angry now!

Shifting out of Deva's way Vorelle turns to attack the Drow and finishes him off as he drops from the Deva's attacks.

Angry now C2 attacks Val with power attacks (-5hit/+5dam) (vs ac 32 hit ac: 39, 26, 19, 24 dam 25) hitting once with a hard blow.

D7 grits his teeth and attacks Mal with flank and power attack (-5/+5)(vs ac23 hit ac 32, 22 dam 17) one of the two blows hit (fort save 27, SR: 18 vs 21 not affected by the spell) The drow doesn't go blind as it feared and is immune to that holy aura spell.
D4 & D5 give up looking for Appolo switch to hand crossbows to attack the liontuar hanging on the bars since it can dodge or use a shield while climbing (vs ac13 {no magic, no dex, no sheild} hit ac 20, 17 dam 4, 5 plus 2x Drow Poison fort save DC13 fall unconscious for 1 minute (make two fort saves)) Both bolts hit their target!

Having lost their quarry D6 moves to flank Val and attack (vs ac 32 hit ac: 29, 32 dam 12) he lands one blow on the elven warrior.
D8 also move to attacks Val (vs ac 32 hit ac: 19, 32 dam 17) also lands one blow on the elven warrior.

Dul takes out some holly berries and cast a spell upon them. The Deva calls to Malgant "Keep fighting, I can heal your wounds." With that she unfurls her wings and takes flight, landing in AT9 and casting defensively. She summons her most powerful healing spell and Heals Malgant's wounds. She then looks to the drow on either side of her and says" You little bastards don't hit nearly as hard as those Monstrosities, and they barely even messed up my hair. I promise you, this will hurt."
Gritting his teeth and surrounded by enemies, Malgant thought this would be a good death, one he could take pride in. Then the Deva's healing magic touched him and his wounds knit shut and his vision, once blurred by blood, now became clear. Leaning into the monstrosity Malgant begins his bloody work stopping this one before it can hurt him or the woman he loves again. Hit AC 34 for 10 +2 <holy> damage, Hit Ac 25 for 12 +8 <holy> damage, crit chance AC 36 failed to confirm with a 19 for 16+5 <holy> damage. If it should fall ( which I doubt looking at the totals on the others) then remaining attacks are on D7 the flanker.

"This monstrosity caught me offguard but I've got my strength back. Which means your all in for a world of pain. After watching you fight I'm ashamed to be part drow. Your skill is quite lacking." Valanthe taunts. She ignores the drow behind her for the moment. Something that she really doesn't want to do. Except this magical mutation before her is seriously strong. If she doesn't drop it fast she will be in some real trouble. If not for Malgants healing she doubts she would be standing right now. What's really impressive is that the monstrosity is still standing after that hit. She knew she broke something in there and it just looks pissed.

OOC: Power Attack -5 / +5. This die roller is back to hating me once more. I thought my luck was too good to be true. 1st attack hits ac 35 for 19. 2nd attack hits ac 22 for 18. attacks 3 and 4 miss.

Saves vs Drow Poison: 33, 27.

On the bars, Vauhwyt sees that Aztyr has an idea, and not wanting to disrupt the magic with her AM Field, she backs off carefully to BE-BF-8-9, directly above those archers, and hoping that her AL Field will suppress maybe one or two of those fire bombs.

** Round 6 **

Aztyr tries to send a message to Vauhwyt forgetting it's blocked by the AM Field. Then polymorphs into Rust Monster moving up to the bars (info: bars ac10 one touch will put a 10x10 hole in the bars.)

Seeing Mal is injured, the Deva calls to him and flies up to heal him completely, glaring at the drow as she does.

Renewed Malgant grits his teeth and attacks the monstrosity hitting it three times. It looks battered, but still standing!

Moving next to Vauhwyt, Appolo appears as his magic is suppressed and explains to her what Aztyr said. Then threatens the traitorous Dul with fates worst than death!

Feeling better, Valanthe insults the drow as she focuses on the Monstrosity hitting it hard with her first blow which bring it low. With it dead she uses the remaining attacks on the drow, but they miss.

Getting the message Vauhwyt shift along the bars over the Archers, but still 10ft up. While her AM field extends into the bar it still stops 5ft from the floor not effect the berries or the drow. Appolo's magic affects return as the liontaur moves away.

Blind D0 attack Mal again (vs ac34 hit ac 19, 23) misses both times.
D7 now immune to the holy aura blinding effect, he attacks Mal (vs ac23 hit ac 29, 18 dam 11) hitting lightly once.
D4 & D5 shift and continue to fire bolts at Vauhwyt hanging on the bars since it can dodge or use a shield while climbing (vs ac13 {no magic, no dex, no shield} hit ac 31, 33 dam 5, 6 plus 2x Drow Poison fort save DC13 fall unconscious for 1 minute (make two fort saves))
D8 moves to flank Val before attacking (vs ac 32 hit ac: 26, 24), but misses the warrior.
D6 attacks Val with flank (vs ac 32 hit ac: 29, 18) doesn't have much luck hitting her either.

Dul calls out "Get back, make no attempt to stop me or I'll blow myself and the girls up!" He get a bag out and looks to be ready to say something if you don't do what he says {readies an action}. (Spot check:35 , Listen check:27) Berries (2 at BD4/BE5, 2 at BD5/BE6, 2 at BE5/BF6, 2 at BE6/BF7)

Aztyr uses her new Rust Monster abilities and touches the Gates, hoping that they'll mostly vanish. Not used to having to manuver Antennae, she almost misses the gate of the cage, but at the last moment she manages to hit the bars, and watches as they crumble into dust.
She moves into the cage, to BB/4, dropping the Rustmonster form returning to her shrunken Liontaur form.
"It's open Appolo, get him, I'll see what I can do about whatever I can, I just don't know....."
, again useing the message spell. Aztyr will try to grab B5 and use her body to protect the girl.

OOC: Pesky rule thing again.
*** Remember in general you get one standard action & one move action or a full round action each round. Also standard action can be used used as a move action to give you a double move. In addition to these you get one swift action and as many free actions as the DM will let you get away with.

How does a hit on AC 29 hit my AC33? I realize he is flanking me which could raise his attack to AC31 hit, but I'm 33....is he somehow special, maybe bypassing one of my defenses? Let me know if I should be taking that damage...

The Deva turns on the blind drow next to her and removes it from play. Swinging her heavy mace with both hands still she continues to put her back into her work. ( still power attacking for -5 meaning +10 damage) three of her four swings connect with the poor blind thing, each one deforming its evil body with the impact. Hit AC 35 for 26, AC 31 for 29 and AC19 for 29, 84 damage total, should she kill it she will cleave into D7 on whichever attack kills the drow, same attack bonuses + 22 damage.

Malgant rounds on the drow(D7) tired of the fleas nipping at his flanks. His red sword flashes as it seeks new targets. He connects with every swing, some quite solidly. Overflow damage should be applied to D6. Hit AC 25 for 11+6<holy> damage AC 26 for 9+8<holy> damage, AC 36 crit confirmed for 26+2<holy> damage, AC 30 crit confirmed for 26+2<holy> damage and Hit AC 31 with the horn gore for 9 damage.

** Round 7 **

Aztyr currently a flying, invisible rust monster attacks the bars causing a 10ft section to rust away instantly. The rust monster shifts over ( move? BB4 is out side the cage did you mean BC4?).

Seeing the bars rust away, Dul still with a ready action calls out "I mean it stay back or they all die rather than fall back into your hands!" The druid still seems ready to react to any attack.

The Deva power attacks the Blind drow (3.5 power attack is -5 to hit / +5 dam. Pathfinder is -5/+10) hitting it three time and mortally wounding it. Then turning she strikes at the other drow (hit ac 12 {nat1}) but misses.

Malgant turn and strikes at the same drow hitting him once, twice thrice critically and then the fourth critical blow kills the drow. As an encore, the minotaur gore the other drow with his horns.

Vorelle moves up to flank a drow as she attacks wounding it. (Yea, Vorelle has been Pathfinderized!)

Chatting with the soon to be dead drow, Valanthe power attacks her foe hitting him hard twice and missing twice. The drow is still standing.

Vauhwyt ignores the poison bolts that have no effect as she tries to negotiate with Dul. Delaying her action.

Dul looks at Vauhwyt he yells out some drow battle command, the remaining drow take up a defensive stance and step back.

Blind D0 is mortally wounded by the Deva.
D7 dies of blows from Mal.
D4 & D5 reload and shift back ready to fire again {Ready action}.
D6 & D8 go full defense and shift back from the battle.

Dul shakes his head "Hold your attacks and move to the south wall. I am taking the harpies fledglings with me! He slips the bag over one of the unconscious girls with a move action. He still has his readied action

Prerequisite

Benefit

On your action, before making attack rolls for a round, you may choose to subtract a number from all melee attack rolls and add the same number to all melee damage rolls. This number may not exceed your base attack bonus. The penalty on attacks and bonus on damage apply until your next turn.
Special

If you attack with a two-handed weapon, or with a one-handed weapon wielded in two hands, instead add twice the number subtracted from your attack rolls. You can't add the bonus from Power Attack to the damage dealt with a light weapon (except with unarmed strikes or natural weapon attacks), even though the penalty on attack rolls still applies. (Normally, you treat a double weapon as a one-handed weapon and a light weapon. If you choose to use a double weapon like a two-handed weapon, attacking with only one end of it in a round, you treat it as a two-handed weapon.)

IF Malgant thinks the girls are LESS than 2 HD he will instead suggest Holy Smite to the Deva. The damage will still effect the girls if they are neutral but with the Deva's save bonus and Malgants healing they should gain HP rather than lose HP. This is a gamble since I don't know the HD or alignment of the Harpy Chicks. Here I go hoping for the best.

Malgant turns to the Deva and says," It will take me too long to reach the girls and that mad man is prepared to harm them at any moment. A holy word might slow him by deafening or blinding him. The girls, unless they have been corrupted while they were taken, are not evil( and if neutral hopefully count as more than 2 HD). Go, lend them your aura of protection and try to stop him from taking them. Val can handle these fools and I will try to heal the girls and give them a fighting chance." With that Malgant moves closer to the girls (to AU/AV6-7) and casts cure light wounds mass targeting in order B2, B3, B5, B4, Appolo, Aztyr and B1 in Dul's sack. The spell will heal each of the targets for 19 points of Healing (I don't know if it was a damage effect or some other effect like drain or ability damage that dropped them unconscious but if it is damage this might help.)

Hearing Malgant and seeing no better way to help the girls short of silence which the cleric must not have prepared today the Deva again takes wing and hasted by magic streaks toward the opening. When she reaches BB6 she utters a holy word, beautiful to those of good and terrible to those with evil in their hearts. ( this position should extend her aura over the girls and get Dul, D4 and D5 with the holy word. I could have used Holy word earlier and got all the opponents but the protective aura was the main part of the move to give the girls a +4 bonus to their saves when the berries go nuclear.)

Vauhwyt is very much afraid that the fledglings will die, but she does her best. She moves closer to the hole in the bars, but not so close as to trigger the firebombing (maybe 20 feet closer?) (a move action). She shouts, "I won't let you steal my babies away! You have lost this fight! You cannot steal them again!"

Vauhwyt readies an action. If Dul takes any move or standard action of any kind other than to renew his own readied action, or if his readied action is triggered, then she will dash in right on top of the situation, covering Dul and as many girls as possible in the AM Field.

Malgant tells the Deva that Dul is mad and to holy word him. Malgant stepping over the dead moves closer and begins casting a cure mass woulds spells upon the area. (Dul spellcraft: 23 vs dc20, listen: 37) Dul looking defeated utters the word to activate the fire seeds. Dul stands there no even trying to save himself from the blast.

Eight enchanted holy berries each explode with the force of a mini fireball
(helpless dex=0 w/-5mod to reflex saves for a -1 total for harpy young. Hp 17. Fire seed save is DC20)

When the detonation is over, there are five dead bodies. Four Harpy Fledglings and one drow who was Dul. The fifth Girl's body is nowhere to be found??? All that remains of the bag is a few charred scraps of cloth.

Malgant finishes his mass cure spell, but it is too late to save the girls. The Deva fly out and shouts her holy word blinding and deafening the remaining drow.

Aztyr drops the rust monster shape and move into the cage trying to save the nearest, but there is nothing she can do.

Vauhwyt climb around on the cage trying to get inside (climbing rate is one quarter movement speed or 15ft / movement for Vauhwyt. and needs a DC10 climb check.)

Appolo moves silently and invisibly into the cage along the ceiling targeting Dul, but finds the drow is already dead cheating the rogue of his revenge.

Valanthe eyes the two blind drow.

Vorelle offers to carve up the to drow if they don't behave.

The four remaining drow now blind and deaf move to the nearest wall ready to defend themselves if anyone attacks them.

The roof is 25ft high.
Stone wall and wall of Thorns are 10ft high.
The bars around the three magic circles in the corners go all the way to the roof and block anything small or larger from going though.
The doorway to to the upper left circle is open.
The one to the upper right is closed & blocked by the wall of stone.

Vauhwyt uses a standard action to dismiss the AM Field.

She uses a free action to look into the Realm of Shadows for the Soul of Dul. She also looks for the souls of her babies (and counts them), but will not hinder their passage to the Lands of Rest. Do they fly away? Or linger?

If she sees the Soul she seeks, she takes a move action (70 feet, diminished as need be by climbing) to get as close to the soul as possible.

If she does not see it, she moves into the place her babies were and touches one of their bodies.

Also, Val I looked over your character again while I was finishing mine. For HP on one of your levels you have a rolled number of 1. Woldian rules say you reroll that for free. 2 is a keeper unless you want to use a hero point but 1's are auto rerolls.

"So what do we do with them?" Valanthe asks and motions with her warhammer to the blind and deaf drow. She really didn't think the druid would blow them all up. It made no sense to her but it had to be something that was worth more than his life to the druid.

Vauhwyt dismiss her AM field, reverting to her reduced size. Looking for souls she sees many drow spirits floating away towards the north west corner of the lab and four young harpy souls who are in wonderment at being souls. (most of the room is bared from plane travail). Looking at the bodies of the young, she notices something odd about two of them. They appear to be fully human. The wizard's transformation magic must have striped the essence of harpy from them and transferred it to the three monstrosity's. Also there is no sign or trace of the fifth fledgling, who Dul had succeeded in putting within the now destroyed bag. The Grim liontaur can try to follow the drow spirits, but will have to cross though the wall to thorns.

Aztyr give Vauwhyt room and hover above.

Appolo goes into a rage as he stomps and curses Dul's dead body until it is unrecognizably.

Valanthe ask what to do with the remaining drow. In response the flying Deva looks at the reaming drow "The drow are evil, and played their part in this tragedy. There lives are forfeited. I doubt they will talk, but you may chose one if you wish to question it." The angle flies over to the two drow near the dead wizard and begins attacking them without qualms or mercy. In her usually efficiency they are quickly dispatched.


(ooc: the battle is pretty much over. Unfortunately, even though you won a victory against evil and Mount Bones, it's not a happy victory. Still you are all heroes!)

(ooc: Great to see the pathfinder character coming to together!

Experience gained is enough for everyone to reach 15th level. Also there is sufficient loot withing the wizard's lab and on the dead to make you all wealthy adventures (hence everyone's wealth should be 240,000gp)

Hero Points:
To each of the following for various reasons:

Malgant -- Making a deal with the Deva (very helpful)
Vorelle - The only one having silver weapons in dealing with the Nightwing.
Aztyr - Using the rust monster form to get past the bars. I also like the use of the summoned hound.

After venting his rage on DUL's body Appolo checks the harpy fledgelings to see if any are still alive.When finds B1 in the scorhed remains of the sack,he think she's still breathing and leans in closer,checking closely Appolo smiles and gently picks her up.Using what's left of his speder limd,Appolo carries her up out of the cage and over the wall."Malgant everyone! We havea live one.She survived.I need some healing over hear quickly."He pays no attention to the Deva as she goes about dispatching the drow.

Malgant will leave one drow for Questioning, making sure to disarm it from range before binding it for Vauhwyt. Beyond that he searches the room and any other rooms they find, looking for notes on the mage's experiments , on Dul, his gear and how/where he could have sent one of the Harpies away. A bag with a gate spell in it? A planar rift of some kind, or was it just an extra dimensional space that when destroyed vented its contents to oblivion. The priest is saddened that he hadn't backed Vauhwyt in the first place and now has allowed this to happen he will try to console her in any way he can.
He thanks the Deva for her assistance and heals those of her wounds he can. She did not have to accept this fight as her own but did and stayed until the end.

Info for everyone to know about the changes that will happen with the transfer to Pathfinder.

Aztyr will no longer have a familiar, she does not follow that bloodline, she is of a more Primal Force type of Bloodline, Draconic. She also will not be a follower of Domi, even though she respects him and his followers. She now follows Alemi, and she also deals with Wold's Blood. She is a Fixer as well as a Sorcerer, instead of just a straight Sorcerer aiming at a PrC. (it vanished)

In her hands now most of the time, she carries a Staff of Gnarled Ash, inlaid with Silver Runes. The Runes are slightly different than those carved and stitched onto her harness and traveling clothes.

As Vauhwyt knows, She is also a member of the WLA along with others in the group.

That's about the only major changes that are noticable, other than a few minor spell changes in her castable list, along with a VERY expensive new spell. She refrains from letting Appolo know about the quanity of Diamonds she now carries.

Have a great New Years Eve, just don't get plastered and then drive.

For a moment Vauhwyt's course is set. She will chase that twisted soul, the Soul of Dul. She can pusue it over or through the thorns. SHe can catch it, wrestle it into her Haversack, and rip the magical container to shreds. THAT would be justice for the daughter he has doomed.

But it might not work. The soul might flit away. And either way, the souls of her beloved dead fledglings will slip away, and she will lose her last chance to touch them. To say good-bye.

Her world twists, and the liontaur gives up her vengeance.

Vuhwyt turns to the souls of her adopted daughters. She hugs and kisses them -- though to the rest of her party, she is hugging thin air. She says some private words of love and sadness. She tells them to be good, and that Lord Gargul will take care of them. She tells them she loves them, and sends them on their way.

Then she is quiet. When they are gone, her tears fall freely.

This is the new Malgant and I'll list the changes I remember making.

-Malgant is more Charismatic

-Thanks to his belt Malgant is now stronger and more nimble

-Malgant is now and has been forever a member of the WLA in good standing at the rank of guardsman.

-Malgant now uses a bastard sword as his weapon taught o him by the trainers at the WLA.

-In the past few weeks Malgant has learned to speak Elven so that he can better speak to Valanthe.

-Malgant is far hardier now due to the intense discipline of the new Protector class. Yes, he is hardy enough that his own heal no longer heals him completely.

-His domains are now Protection and War.

-He has given up Mathilda's stand. He will give it to the Deva to be returned to Imod when the Deva goes home. My hope is that since it is a shield made from the history of the Wold it will continue to turn up in the hands of needy Taur Protectors when their needs are great. He now has a Large minorly magic metal shield.

-Malgant now has the diplomacy to go along with his inability to keep quiet. Despite his size he is still not very intimidating.

-Malgant can now channel energy 3 times per day. It is not much healing because most of his levels are in protector, not cleric, but it IS group healing.

-Malgant can now effectively taunt opponents into attacking him instead of others.

-Malgant now has Black(to match his hide) Feathery Wings (Wings of Flying). In towns he will generally keep them in cloak form but in the field and certainly in combat he is flying.

Venting his rage, Appolo checks the harpy fledgelings, besides the one lost he doesn't find any alive. He helps the Deva dispatch the drow.

Taking one drow prisoner, Malgant binds it before searching the lab. He finds lots of notes and books on transformations, and information hybrid creatures like chimeras, rocs, griffons and such. As for the missing fledgeling, it seems to be the result of destroyed bag of holding. You assume the girl was unarmed, but lost in some dimension, plane or time.

The Deva heals the wounds of others and declaring before she leaves, "The battle was glorious, despite the end. perhaps we will meet again!" With that she vanishes.

Aztyr expresses her concern that Mount Bone may have been alerted.

Thinking about chasing the soul of Dul, Vauhwyt turns instead and embraces the souls of her adopted daughters, sending on their way for Lord Gargul to care for.

Aztyr and Vorelle comforts the weeping liontaur. Vauhwyt hugs her friends.

The Drow warrior isn't cooperating and will need to be motivated or enchanted before he talks. He figures he dead anyway.

There is a unconscious and drained Guardian Naga in the bottom right cage. The magic user's process seemed to drain essence from one or more creatures and gives it to another. The Deva tells you they are normally good and should be freed before you leave.

You find some personal papers and corespondent between the wizard and the lord of Mount Bones, but it will take a few days to properly understand it. The gist of the mater is that this wizard was tasked with creating monstrous creatures for Mount Bones to use in an attack.

(ooc: Yes, the difference between your current PC's wealth (converted to Pathfinder) is your gold to spend. Your new Wealth total for Pathfinder should be 240,000gp (Plus any magic items you craft for yourself or other.)

The prisoner is uncooperative. " Fine, think about this while I search the lab and free the other helpless creatures I find here. I am not planning on killing you. You may wish I had when I am through but evil as you are I will not kill a prisoner. What I do intend to do is question you. Whether you talk or not your master's superior won't know. When he finds you, and I get the impression that if he wants to find you he will, I am sure the fact that you were questioned will impact his decisions about your future. Now what you can do is sit there quietly while I finish looking around."

Next Malgant heads over to Dul's body. He finds a suitable item to wrap it in and wraps it for transport. He will need time to ask Dul questions. Time he does not have now.

Malgant will then head over to the Wizard and look for keys to the Naga's cage. If he does not find them he will instead call upon his remaining combat spells and open the door manually. He will then Heal the Naga with one of his remaining heal spells and find out how it came to be there and what it might know about the situation.

For now Malgant is intentionally avoiding Vauhwyt. He is internally overjoyed that Vauhwyt chose to seize the moment and comfort her children and send them off to Gargul's realm instead of wreaking bloody vengeance on Dul's corpse or soul. Mostly though he is afraid to face her and see the disappointment in her eyes that they failed to rescue those she held dear. His gruff exterior and brusque manner with the drow are all attempts to hide that fear.

(don't worry if your character isn't fully converted yet. That's what we'll be working to achieve over the next week or so.)

Malgant give the prisoner something to thinking about as he finishes with the lab and Dul's body. Freeing and healing the Guardian Naga, doesn't provide much enlightenment. While the Naga is grateful his doesn't know much beyond the battle where he was captured, it seems they have keep him unconscious or in magical confinement. He does know that the he was targeted for capture and that the creatures who did it had the power to teleport or dimension door at will. The Naga seems to be suffering from level drain, but should recover with time.

Vorelle wonders if there are other labs and mad wizards working for Mount Bones.

Aztyr offers to freeze part of the drow if needed, and reiterates the wisdom of leaving soon. Mal won't torture him, but he does take belonging leaving him to face the bosses boss. The drow swallows hard at that thought. Valanthe offers to let him experience a sunrise.

Mookie looks around until Vauhwyt rouses herself for teleporting.

What Malgant takes is a lock of hair from the living drow. He then wraps up Dul's body, the wizard's body and one of the other drow (If one was better dressed or seemed to have a rank badge that's the one I want). He makes sure any notes are secured and packed for transport. He asks the drow one last time If he has anything he wants to say that might help them.
" You realize that these corpses won't be able to lie to me when I question them, so I WILL get accurate answers from them. Which will make your life worth less than nothing to you boss's boss. He will not likely be so forgiving when he asks you about us. Answer us and we can teleport you somewhere away from here, give you a fighting chance at staying lost to him. Last chance."

Well out of earshot of the drow and somewhere not in the lab so as to foil any scrying focused on the lab, Malgant gives his answer to the question of where to go.

"As for where to go the WLA should be told what went on here. I think we should go home, question the dead and see what the notes hold and then take them where they will do some good. (We also have a family we are responsible for don't we? Or did we teleport them to Acid City and get them passage out?) We also have 'friends' That may be able to make sense of these notes and give us direction on how to proceed."

OOC: A pathfinder update for Valanthe. Other people have done it so I should too. Instead of a massive list I'll just hit the highlights.

Valanthe is harder to hit straight up but now lacks the intangible defense she once did. Her warhammer is now adamantite and enchanted against evil and should work better against enemies like the undead shadow bat.

Her full plate is now (and was before) made of mithril so it counts as medium armor for spells light flight. Which should be very useful in the coming battles I think we will be facing. Instead of a tower shield she carries a heavy shield enchanted for battle.

She wears a Gauntlet of Rust both to protect herself from such attacks as well as the rust touch attack. While it won't be useful in combat with her hand holding her warhammer, it could be useful out of combat to destroy barriers and stuff.

Valanthe is also a skilled Stonemason and Engineer.

Did you take either +1 skill point or +1 hit point / level Val? It didn't look like it.

Your Armor check penalty should be 1. Mithril reduces it by 3 and your armor training reduces it by 4. I would assume the remaining 3 come off your armor and the last 1 off your shield.

AC 42...really? WOW, Glenn is going to beat the tar out of the rest of us having critters in his encounters able to hit you. I'm toast 8)

Nice work, I have to look into one of those gauntlets.

General note....Based on my new spell repetoir if ANYONE thinks they are gonna die by damage it is imperative that you get near me so I will be able to touch you the round after you fall. Breath of Life is the Best frickin spell I have EVER seen and it will save alot of those uh oh moments when someone just gets crit and expires due to damage. If I can cast it on you the round after you fall and it returns you to not dead negative hp ( or I assume consciousness) you DON'T DIE. The APG has this as a shield ability contingent on the wielder falling down and I so want it.

Another thought Vorelle.... do you have the cash left to build your bow for strength? Adding some or all of your strength bonus would probably satisfy your wanting to do both melee and ranged well.

I knew Malgant was never going to be good at ranged so I got the wings so I can get to 90% of most fights. Using the fly skill will be a whole new experience though.

Also Glenn, how do you set up those bookmarks? I am gonna go try and mess with it now, but after I lost a whole hours work last night on an NPC to the autosave feature on the doc page I am a bit wary of edits now.

Malgant give the drow one last chance to cooperate, but this one continues to refuses preferring to remain with his brothers. The minotaur collects a few bodies and hair samples.

Aztyr also, collect a lock of hair from the drow, and searches one last time for anything missed. She doesn't find anything else, beyond the loot and notes already found.

Vauhwyt collects the remains of her girls.

Valanthe is for checking in at the WLA as per Mal's suggestion. Vorelle agrees.

Aztyr ready to go.

Vauhwyt is able to determin by watching the souls that the magic circle closes to the doorway has not dimension lock or other magic that prohibits travel.

After thinking about it, the group decides returning to the entrance would be best before teleporting out.

Malgant bids the captive drow luck as the group moves out. The minotaur makes a joke about evil calling in sick. The heroes doesn't encounter anything or anyone along the way and makes it back to the point they teleported in at.

Outside the cave, it hasn't changed much its still windy and desolate mountainside. Mount Bone's still towers high above to the southeast. You hear a faint rumbling sound as if the larger mountain is angry, but its probably natural forces at work.

You may teleport when ready.

(Note just for fun assuming Malgant tied up the drow, he would have a DC39 to escape the bonds. (Mal's CMB + 20). Since nether the Drow's CMB nor Escape Artist skill is high enough he probably won't be going anywhere soon. "If the DC to escape from these bindings is higher than 20 + the target's CMB, the target cannot escape from the bonds, even with a natural 20 on the check.")

As the group reaches the outside platform, well, level area, where they arrived at Aztyr looks to the others."Shall we head to the Inn? Not the Tree of the Wold, but the other one we use. Yes I'm being a bit vague incase we are being overheard somehow. Vauhwyt take Appolo and Vorelle, I'll take Malgant and Valanthe and we can meet out front of it."
Aztyr hopes Vauhwyt gets the location correct.... She grabs hold of Malgant and Val and the concentraits, the three of them get that wierd feeling of being squeezed through a very tiny opening and then they appear, right where they should be, out front of the Inn at Acid City.
"Well, now we just have to hope Vauhwyt knows where to travel to. As soon as we get some rest, I have a few new spells which should help us out.
I'll also be losing a couple spells...."

She then heads to the front door, allowing the reduce person to fade away, returning her to normal size.

(OOC: losing Polymorph: It's just turned into the most useless spell in the Wold. Example: I polymorph into a Elephant, with a strength of 13. It's basicly just a movement form spell now. Correct me if I'm wrong, but that's how I read it....)

Valanthe takes a moment to get her bearings after the teleport. She still has yet to get used to that feeling. It's quite unpleasent despite the benefits of it. Between all the teleportation and the shadow walking stuff, Valanthe is looking forward to a little rest. It's fortunate that she has no magical ability. While those that can cast spells are busy doing whatever they do to learn things and communicate, Valanthe can kick back and relax.

At the inn, she looks around. Things don't look different. But it feels like everything has changed.

OOC: The link up there now for Vauhwyt is to her still-incomplete Pathfinder sheet. The biggest change so far is that V is giving up Avenger and switching to just Rogue/Sorcerer/Grim/ArcaneTrickster. It is a power loss for sure, but what the hey! Who ever said I was a power gamer!?

Another big change ... now when I share an Alter Self with Mookie, instead of turning him into a monkey, it changes him into a small or medium humanoid. So expect to see a lot of halfling Mookie riding around on Vauhwyt's back. Thank goodness or the Ring of Riding Woldian magic item!

I'm giving up the AM Field. A fun experiment, but too much of a pain in the tuchas. Contingent Greater Invisibility is better. Oh, and no more Blink spell -- they nerfed it so it does not help with sneak attacks anymore.

Do we have our new gear yet or is an official nod towards the catacombs required before we start using them?(inces we levels and basically finished a module we would normally cash in ourloot and buy gear before we had it, just checking) Also I know we haven't rested, what spell list should we use if there is...um... trouble.

"Got some rooms for us to rent? I immagine we'll want at least 3 and I know we want hot baths, so you can start getting the water warmed up. After batheing, we'll want to eat, at least I will want to."
If they are alone she'll ask Sally if there's been any problems in the few days since Aztyr's last visit.

Appolo had just let the others deal with the aftermath.He seems to have greatly effected by not being able to rescue the Harpy Chicks in time.Once it is time to leave Appolo goes along with the other.
Back in Acid City Appolo tells the others that he is leaving the group for awhile.Going to head for Platue City.He says he needs some time off.
After spending the night,in the morning he says good by to each of his friends and wishes them the best of luck.Hopefully he will be rejioning them soon.

Vauhwyt gives Appolo a huge hug good-bye. Without saying anything, she clearly shares his feelings. She lets go of him after a while.

Mookie hops up, and caws, "Jeezum Crow! That's it? The end? So long? Hasta La Veesta? It better not be! The Boss needs you, bud. So don't stay away too long."

The raven mutters, "Besides, no one else around here is as much fun in a bar as you are!"

Valanthe says goodbye and wishes him luck in his travels. She prays that he finds what she thinks he's been looking for. Looking for some time and probably not even known it. Once Appolo leaves, Valanthe heads into the tavern and grabs a bottle of something strong. She looks at the white nine of hearts tattoo on her right forearm. With Appolo gone it really hits. They are all gone. Ashira, Rigging, Bart, and now Appolo. It doesn't seem like that long ago but it also felt like a lifetime. There was no freedom like sailing the sea. It was something she couldn't describe. Either a person felt what she felt or they didn't. She's adjusted to life on land but part of her will always miss it. She's grown a lot since she washed up on shore half dead. Now all she has left is her memories and a tattoo that meant nothing to anybody but her. Well it still held among the pirates but it was unlikely that she would be in that part of the wold anytime in the near future.

Malgant watches Appolo go. He had always been a rival and never quite a friend, but the Minotaur could see the pain losing the hatchlings had inflicted on the Blase mans heart. Appolo wouldn't be able to throw caution to the wind and BE Appolo again until he sorted it out for himself. Much the way Ashira was incapable of stopping her drinking until she faced why she was doing it.
" Be well Appolo. Find what is missing inside and then come back. You are always welcome."
