Seeing the alluring demon and her crew teleport away via the magic circle, Aztyr continues to cast the prep spells before teleporting her group to the Lich's work area, to be followed by Vauhwyt and the rest of the heros.

OOC First off...AWESOME MAP Second, that's a lot of guys...Oh well, no one promised this wouldn't hurt. Third, lets git er done! IC Malgant instantly takes flight and flies to F/G-10/11. Calling upon Imod he unleashes the most powerful prayer his god has yet granted him, directly into the Lich.( Cast destruction causing 150 points of damage fortitude DC 21 for only 29 points of damage. Spell penetration of 19 ( I am shocked I see no SR on their template, but I rolled SR anyway)Malgant's fear save is a 34) He then challenges the lich hoping it will focus it's attention solely on him allowing Val to close and destroy it with her hammer. " You worm eaten piece of Flith! Your final end has arrived! See me and see your doom!" Will DC23 to resist the challenge. To his friends he thinks" Courage friends! stick to the plan. Valance glances around the battlefield. Destruction was about to rain down upon them and they had no idea. The thought brought a smile to her lips. It felt good to do the attacking instead of defending and running. Valanthe held her new warhammer firmly in her hand. It was heavier than Gargul's Fist. Made of adamantite and empowered with holy magics. It was going to feel so good testing it upon the lich. Maybe she would earn a name for it in this very battle.
Using her enchanted speed, Valanthe zips across the battlefield to the lich (moving to F8 and avoiding the pentagram completely). Valanthe starts her assault, which would be impressive with the magical speed, if she were visible.
ooc: power attack -4/ +8. her weapon is adamantite +3 holy 1st attack: nat 20, hit ac 45 for 25 damage (75 if lich's can be critted) and 9 holy 2nd attack (haste): hit ac 43 for 31damage and 8 holy 3rd attack: hit ac 35 for 32 damage and 6 holy 4th attack: hit ac 33 for 28 damage and 7 holy shield bash: hit ac 23 for 20 damage. if the attack hits the lich suffers a bull rush attack with the combat maneuver modifier at 23. this does not provoke an attack of opportunity
Since this is my first battle with this system I hope I get everything right. I rolled all the attacks in the order listed. after that I rolled weapon damage then holy for each attack in the same order.

Val, deflection bonuses don't stack. your still AC 42. Moving that far you still only get a single attack, but you made it a good one.

Mookie's Actions
Mookie activates his Smite Evil as a swift action, targeting the lich. He discharges his magic missile wand into the evil thing, inflicting 5d4+5+15, or 35 damage (UMD36, standard action). He delays the rest of his action, a move, wanting to place himself near his mistress or some other tough friend. If I don't get to post, let's make it F7, hiding behind Val, avoiding the circle.

Moving to attack one of the skeletons, Vorelle destroys it in one blow!
Commanding his wings ("up up and away?") Malgant takes to the sky flying just past the Lich, before unleashing a powerful prayer of destruction and words of doom upon the Lich, but the magic fails to affect it. (ooc: it has an item giving it SR21). (Will: 29 vs Challenge) The lich's red glowing points of eyes burn with anger at the Minatuar "It is only your doom I see!"
Heading straight for the Lich, Valanthe attacks the undead abomination with her holy adamantite weapon doing a heroic blow against the undead wizard, where you hear bones crack under the impact. Recovering from the blow it eyes you with the glare of it glowing red eyes. (ooc: only one attack with a standard action, but it can be crited in pathfinder. Also you need to roll a second attack to confirm crits. since you had rolled more attacks than passable I used your 2nd attack to confirm this crit. Also on a crit you roll the dam x number of times not just multiply the first roll.)
Mookie fires a powerful magic missile wand at the lich, then moves to behind Val. (Caster check 9th level: 23 vs SR21 Good.) The force magic slams into the Lich. The lich sneers at the gnome. (ooc: I'm not 100% sold on the idea that smite Evil adds to energy attacks, but go with it for now)
Invisible, Vauwhyt moves next in to surround the Lich.

The Lich grasp a rod at it's belt, quickens a magic missile at Mookie (16pt damage, caster check 21 vs SR25 fail) then cast defensively (Concentration: 39) Dimension door. The lich vanishes from where it was to across the room. In a raspy voice it orders some to guard it self and others to attack the the invisible intruders around where it stood. The Lich seems to have no problem seeing you.

The Babau looking at you, step back as they direct the Hell hounds to attack with there breath weapon. The four 30ft cones all over lap onto Vauh and Val. The first three also hit Mookie, and only the first one hits Mal up in the air. (Fire breath Reflex DC21 for half against 31, 33, 36, 22 breath weapon no SR )
The Babau use long spears to attack Mal in the air the top one attacks once (hit ac 31 miss) and the bottom one attacks twice (hit ac 26, 17) missing both times.
The Grave Knights order the skeletons to spread out as one of them let lose with Devastating Blast of acid energy upon the area where one skeleton was killed, catching Vorelle ( supernatural ability no SR, 26 acid dam Reflex save DC19 for half)

Scoffing at the Lich's comment the Protector says," I suppose you see this pack of children leading to my doom while you run away like a little girl and hide behind some puny Ogres. Typical superiority complex. If you want me dead you will need to try much harder." Malgant then launches his next spell at the Lich. ( cast Dimensional Anchor 28 ranged touch attack, 34 spell resistance check, almost aced that one) " I think I will help you be brave my cowardly foe. Now you are locked here and must face me. Do what you will this rabble will not save you from me." Making his save and shrugging off most of the flames from the Hell Hounds The Protector once more takes to the air and launches himself at the Lich,( probably granting the 2 devils each an AoO) landing next to the undead spellcaster.( land in C/D- -6/-7). He continues to taunt the creature, once again using his Draw Fire ability to make the Lich concentrate on him. " I will make it easier for you. I was prepared for a light day of killing your minions. I did not even fully prepare to kill you today. Run from me or allow me to live through this and I guarantee our next meeting will go even worse for you." To his allies he thinks," Val make your way to the Lich, I will remove his guards. Go as silently as you can. I will keep talking to let them find me. Aztyr wipe out the undead and the rest of you get Val to the Lich. She is our best hope of physically destroying him with that beautiful hammer of hers."

Vauhwyt's turn part two
Vauhwyt puts her hand on Val's shoulder and thinks, "Come on, we're going after it!" She casts teleport. Arcane Fail 55 = ok. Teleport error 76 = ok. Vauhwyt ends up at -7/-6/I/J and Val, if she is willing to be a five foot step from the lich, ends at -7/H. She can take a five foot step and flank the lich with Mal, getting in a full attack.
"Full Attack, Val! With the Haste!" thinks Vauhwyt.

Mookie shoots off another set of magic missiles. His UMD is 22, A-OK. His SR check is 12. The spell fails to affect the lich. He moves carefully around the teleport circle to 3G, next to Aztyr.

Valanthe stares into the eyes of the lich and knows no fear. For it is an abomination against everything that is living and good. The lich ran because it is afraid. Afraid of what she will do to it. (will save 29. +4 for holy aura and she has a +4 bonus against fear for the fighter bravery thing)
Oh I will Vauhwyt. This thing cannot hide behind its minions
Valanthe reeks of scorched metal and burnt flesh. The fire flowed past her armor to the vulnerable flesh beneath it. Valanthe pushed aside the pain and focused on the lich. Focused on the vulnerable monstrosity before her. (save vs fire breath- 1st 27, 2nd 20, 3rd 23, 4th 13 for a total of 89 damage)
Valanthe wants to shout out her fury. To let the lich know right where she was. To know that he couldn't run. Except she didn't want the ogre magi to know. Maybe they would have to spend a few seconds looking for her. Seconds she could use to pound the lich. Valanthe brings both her hammer and shield to bear, raining blows down upon the lich.

(fear roll, used Hero point to make) Aztyr takes a second breath and shakes off the effect that the Lich had started to have over her.*Vorelle, you're about to be freed up from most of your play mates, sorry, just concentrait on the bigger stuff.* Aztyr settles in, She starts a soft chant, and it strangly sounds like a Prayer of some sort. "Alemi, I'm not much of a priest, but I am a whole hearted follower, please be so inclined to grant me the ability to vanquish these Undead by removing thier animating forces." She slams the heel of her staff into the hard stone flooring and a ripple of energy flashes from her out in every direction. (radius 40', cast Limited Wish, for the Arcane spell of 6th Level, Undeath to Death. Will save DC 25 to ignore 29 spell penitration, 47 Hit Dice )

Undeath to Death snuffs out several undead creatures within a 40-ft.-radius burst , killing them instantly. The spell slays 1d4 HD worth of undead creatures per caster level (maximum 20d4). Creatures with the fewest HD are affected first; among creatures with equal HD, those who are closest to the burst's point of origin are affected first. No creature of 9 or more HD can be affected, and HD that are not sufficient to affect a creature are wasted.

What type of ability is hell hound breath? Only spells and spell-like abilities are subject to spell resistance. Extraordinary and supernatural abilities (including enhancement bonuses on magic weapons) are not. A creature can have some abilities that are subject to spell resistance and some that are not. Even some spells ignore spell resistance; see When Spell Resistance Applies, below. Glenn's post clearly says no SR and from what I see in their description that seems to be a natural ability for them, not a spell and thus not subject to SR. We need to figure this out so that I can take half of the damage and Val can take it back. She is under the effects of a shield other spell.

Oh, sorry, I misunderstood.
If need be, here are two more reflex saves for Vauhwyt and one for Mookie (only 3 of the 4 breaths got him).
V: Base +7 +7 dex +4 holy aura +2 heroism = +20 rolls: 24, 37 no damage with evasion
M: Base +7 +3 dex +4 holy aura +2 heroism = +16 rolls: 20. Mookie misses his save and with imp evasion takes half, or 18, leaving him with 2 temp hp left.

Vorelle shudders as the lich's fearful presence washes over her, but she remains resolute. [Will 25]
One of the knights sends a blast of acid her way, but she nimbly dodges it. [Reflex 39, Evasion]
Since the knight seems to want a fight, Vorelle obliges him. She steps up, and offers another prayer to Wardd, but Wardd seems to think Vorelle's got this one, and again denies her. [House Odds 27]
Since it seemed to work pretty well last time, she again puts everything she has into a single axe strike.

In fact the undead template does not make the creature immune to critical hits. This feat may not be so great anymore.
Aztyr shifts up and with a heroic effort resist the Lich's fear.
Shrugging off most of the flames, Malgant taunts the Lich about running away as he tries to put a Dimensional Anchor on him, but the energy is Absorbed by the rod the lich is holding. The large Hasted Minotaur flies to engage the Lich once again, and tries to draw his fire. The Lich chuckles, "Your mind tricks won't work on my kind mortal!" Both Babau take a parting shot at Mal (AoO hit ac 20, 35) both miss.
Vauhwyt and Mookie are completely unaffected by magic missile, hell hound breath, and fear, although Vauhwyt only through heroic effort. Using a Teleport to cross the room, the liontaur takes Val with her. Mookie fails to effect the Lich with another magic missile from the wand, then moves behind Aztyr.
Unaffected by the Lich's fear aura, Valanthe singed by the dog's fire accepts Vauhwyt's transport to attack the Lich once again. Stepping forward, the elf warrior rain blows down upon the Lich and bashing him back against Mal with the last blow. The Lich's body crumbles unmoving to the ground.
Having resisted the Lich's fear with a heroic effort, Aztyr shifts as she chants before slamming her staff into the ground and alters the fabric of reality to emulate Undeath to Death magic. (saves Skeletons: 15,21,20,22,5,6,15,14,10 47hd-27hd=20) Nine of the Skeletal Champions get blown to dust by the wave of energy. The two graveknights fair no better as they too are destroyed (save: 22, 22 20hd).
Effected by the Lich's evil aura, Vorelle is shaken, but still manages to dodge the knight's acid blast, but finds her foe already turning to ashes by Aztyr's impressive magic.
The two Oger Mages seeing the Lich is dead shift back and cover the unseen attackers with cones of cold covering most of the area against the wall. Both cones of cold catch the three heroes Mal, Vauh, and Val (cone of cold : SR check: 30, 22 dam 59, Reflex DC18 for half ) Only the first spell breaks through the spell resistance of the Holy Aura on the heroes.
The two Babau direct the intelligent hell hounds to charge Aztyr and Vor. As they attempt to dispels the invisibility on Aztyr (Caster check: 22 vs DC17) and Vorelle (caster check: 20 vs 17) both Aztyr and Vorelle become visible as two hounds each charge them Hounds attack Aztyr (hit ac 29, 25 damage 19+4fire, 21+3fire) {dogs save vs holy aura blindness 32, 22} Nether dog goes blind. The liontaur, using her Grim ability to see into the Realm of Shadows as a free action at will in a 60 foot radius, looks for the soul of the lich, as it flees for the sanctuary of its phylactery.
Mookie, sensing his mistress's state of mind, uses a move action to hustle straight to Vauhwyt, tumbling past the ogre mage to do so with his hasted move 50: Tumble check 36 plus Mookie is invisible, so maybe it is a moot point. Once there, he mounts up with a 39 ride check.
If Vauwhyt sees the soul with her free peek and can reach it in a move action, she will move to it (maybe provoking AoOs, she does not care) and attempt to grapple it. Her grapple check rolls: Her Ghost-touch Touch attack hits touch AC 34. Her grapple check is 35 (aided by a +3 luck bonus from her lucky armor spikes).
If she can see it but cannot move to it, maybe because it has floated through a wall or floor, then she uses her Darkwalk ability to enter the Realm of Shadows, with a concentration check of 29, which is more than enough for her and Mookie to enter. Mookie's Fort save on entering the Realm of Shadows is a 30, so he takes no Con damage. The pair move as close to the soul as possible.
If she cannot see it at all anywhere, then she uses her Sense Spirit ability, which takes a full round action to initiate, to try to find the soul and see where it has gone.

In desparation, she turns on it with her axes, because she'll be dead in a few seconds if she can't kill it first.

Valanthe is unable to avoide the magical cold. She braces as the cold and ice crash into her only to feel nothing. Thats when she remembers the protective magic cast upon her. Which she will have to remember the next time she's bored to tears when Malgant, Vauhywt, and Aztyr are doing their magic stuff. (protection from cold down to 61 from 120)
Valanthe steps forward (5ft step to G / -6) but instead of looking at the ogre she looks toward the direction of Vorelle's anguished cry. Hang on Vorelle somebody will be there soon

1st hit was a crit, thus the damage was rolled twice coming out to 40+5 fire. The second hit was 17+9 fire total 57+14 fire. easier to read if you copy the whole thing and think like Glenn and add an AC in front of the 33 8) also reading his die rolls helps (hit ac 42 {crit 38 confirm}, 33 dam 19+21=40+5fire, 17+9fire) The good news, you aren't that hurt and the hounds should be seriously injured now. Oh, and they are blind so 50% miss+a second 20% miss on any attack other than their breath which you can evade.....good times, good times.

Malgant pounds on the Oger Magi as the calls for Vorelle and Aztyr to retreat. Hitting 5 times with two of the blow being critical, the Minotaur severely wounds his foe. He calls for the demons to go home.
Avoiding the cold, Vauhwyt looks for the soul of the Lich, but alias it is not stored within the liches body. Mookie moves to joins Vauhwyt.
Telling Vorelle to backup, Aztyr shifts waiting for Vorelle to move, before casting a spell from her staff (ooc: you can't take a 5ft step if you take a move action in the same round. So, ether you move away taking four AoO and cast your spell. Shift 5ft with no AoO and cast your spell. Or, You withdraw which is a full action with no AoO on the first 5ft move. Note you can start chose which corner of your squares to start you spell from.)

Seeing Vorelle take her action, Aztyr fires her cone of cold getting what she can. Of the three hell hounds two save and one takes the full force and dies. The skeleton is immune. The two demons both take a full blast less there resistance.
Protected from the cold blast, Valanthe acts last. The elf warrior shift forward to attack the Ogre hitting with all her blows nearly killing it.
Hell Hound breaths fire again (fire breath 46, reflex DC21 save for half) The two Skeletons shift forward and attack Aztyr (hit ac 25, 8 %miss 89, dam 9).

UGH!!! The Ogre Mages turned invisible! Sorry! I can't sneak attack them! Instead, please let Mookie fire his magic missiles at a hell hound and let Vauhwyt move up to a hell hound and attack it with her first attack.

Malgant give's Val directions to where the invisible Ogres shifted to, as he summons holy fire to blast both the Ogres (saves: 23, 16) burning one and killing the other. (2:53) Unable to see the Ogers, Mookie uses the wand to magic missile hell hound #3 as Vauhwyt moves to attacks it with sneak since it's blind and wounds it deeply. Mookie and Vauhwyt have to save vs that potent cold blast. Mookie rolls a 24, but then if you add in the +1 reflex save dodge bonus from the haste, he just makes it! No damage. Vauhwyt with her heroism, holy aura, and haste bonuses, makes it with a 36 and also takes no damage.
Mookie uses his wand again on the most injured looking skeleton: 19 damage. If it has SR, then the wand beats SR 17.
Vauhwyt moves to the nearest death knight (one of the original two) and scoops up its body and gear. She's invisible, so hopefully that provokes no AoOs, but if it does, she'll take it.
She thinks, "This is it, friends! We're leaving next round! Come on close by so we can blip out of here! Take a parting shot or grab some loot, but end your move next to me or Aztyr at the end of next round! Aztyr! Mal! Where are we going?"

Giving mental orders, Aztyr channels her magic through the staff to send a chain lighting at a Babau where it arches and hit two more, unfortunately they are immune to electricity. (looking up chain lighting. ok)
(ooc: Are they summoned? ) Seeing that they are teleporting into the field of battle, and summoned creatures can't teleport not to mention this building is in the middle of a war camp of outsiders, demon's and undead. It's fair to reason that they aren't summoned. Malgant grabs the lich's crumbling remains and most of it's gear, noting that the rod fell from the lich's hand upon his demise. The protector uses healing prayer upon himself.
Unaffected by the cold, Vorelle attacks a skeleton killing it in two blows.
Valanthe is for finding the Lich's lair to destroy it.
Both barely resisting the cold, Mookie uses the wand again killing the remaining skeleton as Vauhwyt moves and scoops up the nearest death knight's armor and broken body, the great club still lays on the ground.

As soon as Mal tells her where to go, she casts her teleport and takes Vorelle and Mookie there. If Mal does not give a location before the round ends, she will go to the stone "safe" house back on Minotaur Island, although she does not think it is a very safe place, actually.

He moves to I/J-1/2 reaches out and touches Aztyr to complete the teleport link and mentally says," Stepping through that Teleportation circle will only encourage the Demons to follow us, compounding whatever problems our doubles are causing on the other side. So lets head back to Imod City, outside the Catacombs. Both of you know where that is. Then we can go get this lich looked at and see if Vauhwyt's brethren can tell us more about him. Grab whatever isn't nailed down and lets go.

Mookie picks up the club weapon, the demon pokes his longspear at the gnome/familiar (AoO hit 21) missing him. Vauhwy shifts way from the foes and readies to telport with Vorelle upon being give word by Mal.
Grabbing the dropped rod with one hand and holding the lich's body in the other, Malgant mentally passes on the teleport target as he moves to Aztyr's side.
Grabbing the large Ogre Magi's body, Valanthe drag it over to Aztyr, thinking it must weight as much or more than Malgant and well over what she could carry.
Waiting for both Val and Mal, Aztyr cast her teleport spell taking them away from the battle and fresh daemons to the street in front of the Catacombs entrance in Imod City. Note the Oger Magi's body an gear exceed Val's or Mal's maximum load, but can be teleported as an addition large person (which I believe she can do.).
Vorelle grabs the nearest thing that might be worth something, the hell hound had fine looking chain shirt barding, the skeleton bodies have breastplate and heavy shields they dropped the nice looking longsword they were using (OOC: Vorelle, Choose Hound, skeleton, or longsword.)
After Vorelle snatches something, Vauhwyt teleports herself, the undead knight's body, Mookie, and Vorelle to Imod city in front of the Catacombs entrance.
Your sudden appearance and with dead bodies and battle look about about your group or at least the ones they can see, causes the people present to give you plenty of room.
It's afternoon, and the street if full of Taurs making their way with some haste for the city gates carrying what belongings they can. Out of the general take and grumbling, you learn that the leaders have order the evacuation, something about a black sphere eating the city.
You group has a dead lich, a rod, a invisible large dead Ogre (~1800 lb), a dead Knight body, great club, and what every Vorelle chose to grab.

Vauhwyt thinks to her friends, "I expect they'll be scrying us as soon as they can. I think this will make it impossible for them to know where we are when we are scried."
She takes out and opens her eversmoking vial, so that an impenetrable smoke covers the immediate area.
She thinks, "I wish I had grappled and bound that lich. I'd like to toss it into this black sphere. Anyone have any ideas what to do with that? Is there anything we can do? Cast a Dimensional Anchor on it? Try a Remove Curse, Greater Dispel, Commune or a Legend Lore, none of which I can cast? Blip to the Star Mages, maybe ask them for advice? Or leave it to Domi and the Taurs, while we hit them in our own more-or-less effective ways?"
Vauwhyt casts Detect Magic, separates the magic from the non, and Shrink Items the nonmagic stuff for easier transport. Note that objects that are not permanently magical but have spells cast on them can be shrunk, and the durations of those spells continue to expire.
Mookie adds, "Speaking of expire, I think we should high-tail it out of here"

OOC Is the catacombs a " safe place"? Or is it a "don't bring trouble in following you" kinda place? The rod absorbed my dimensional anchor so I am thinking its a rod of absorption Vauwhyt. My plan would be separate the magic from the crap on the bodies and head into the Catacombs. I am not sure how much we learned about the sphere but I don't think anything will effect it other than the amulet to direct it. It wasn't behaving like a normal orb since it is huge and growing also it wouldn't allow anyone else to try and mentally move it like a normal orb. Glenn also alluded to it 'hatching' which frankly scares the pants off me.

"Um....," she says uncomfortably. She can't even sheathe the thing, and it's an awkward length to just tuck into her belt. She tucks it in as best she can, though.
Maybe one of the bigger temples in Plateau City will have some ideas about the lich? she suggests tentatively. There's all kinds of adventurers there. Maybe they've dealt with this kind of thing before.

Vauhwyt casts Detect Magic and Identify (no expensive component under PF). She starts looking over all the gear (In PF you ID items with Spellcraft checks).
Spellcraft checks, including a +2 for Heroism: 27, 33, 28, 36, 28, 33.
If you can Aid Another with these checks, Vauhwyt will cast Identify on Mookie to ... that automatically lets Mookie add +2 to those rolls.
The DC to ID things is ... "Identify the properties of a magic item using detect magic ... 15 + item's caster level."
Feel free to roll any more that you need.
Aztyr is surely better than Vauhwyt at doing this, so if she wants to roll, Mookie and Vauhwyt are pleased to offer Aid Another bonuses to her.

Malgant attempts to help Vauhwyt identify the items they find.
