Thinking quickly, Vauhwyt opens her eversmoking bottle and within moments the street is filled with a thick smoke that totally obscures vision. Mookie suggest leaving as the liontaur starts to sort through the stuff. You hear people call out and start to bump about in the thick smoke being unable to see there way. While the smoke doesn't cause breathing issues, the evacuating citizens are having trouble navigating through the smoke and someone is starting to panic calling out "Fire!"
Debating about the wisdom of using the Catacombs as a safe place, Malgant suggest picking the magic out of the loot and heading into the catacombs.
Vorelle tucks the looted sword into her belt and suggest asking a temple what to do about the lich.
Valanthe ask why they can't just stash the body in a sanctified place to keep it from the phylactery.
Speaking to the others, Aztyr share her plan to try and scry the phylactery using the corpse after she renews her spells the next day.
At Malgant's urging, Vauhwyt starts to identity the items looted using her skill as a spell caster and magic to detect the items auras. With Malgant's & Aztyr's help, they figure out what the items are, despite the problem of working effectively blind due to the smoke.
Loot Lich's body pick up by Mal: - Headband of vast Intelligence +2[Perception skill] - Ring of Protection +5 - Scroll of teleport - Mantle of Spell Resistance SR21 - Rod of Absorption absorbed: ~50% used - Cloak of Resistance +5 - Bracers AC6
Ogre Magi's body picked up by Val: - Chain shirt, - Greatsword, - Composite longbow {+7 Str} w/20 arrows - Pouch with 20,000gp in gems.
GraveKnight body picked up by Vauh & Mookie: - Greatsword +1 - Full Plate +1 - Belt of giant strength +2
Sword picked up by Vorelle: - Longsword -- masterwork
After about 2 minutes, Vauhwyt detects the Scry on Aztyr final catches back up to her. (This is the same Scry spell from earlier so no roles are needed.) While most of the people are invisible and obscured by the smoke, the Scrying person probably can't see much.

The healing is nice, but neither Mookie nor Vauwhyt need it, thanks to good reflex saves and evasion. "We're being scried," reports Vauhwyt, "so let us add a little bit of a distraction!" She thinks at her familiar.
"Jeezum Crow!" Mookie says aloud, clearly angry. "Get ready everyone! Heal up and we're going back right now!"
"Hush!" Vauhwyt says out loud to her familiar. "Don't be stupid!"

AC 42 HP 142/ 187 Valanthe Thursday March 17th, 2011 2:24:25 PM permenent may be a big step. Our paths run the same course now but it may not always be so. Yet it is very useful. Instant communication on the field of battle is an incredible tool. Maybe enchanting it onto an item but that runs the risk of falling into enemy hands. It's a tough decision.

OOC I believe Aztyr is the test subject for Troy to get feedback about how the spellweaver class is worded. Once it is noticed that by taking the limited wish and wish spell as a 1st level spellweaver a sorcerer can cast every wizard spell up to 8th level for no cost I imagine the class will be hit with a nerf bat the size of a telephone pole. But that's the deal for now. IC Thinking more carefully Malgant agrees teleporting to Plateau city before going to the catacombs would probably work better. That way they have more of the Lich's possesions for the scholars of Gargul to examine and will have a clearer outline of what they need to vanquish the lich. Malgant is willing to be reduced so that Vauhwyt can teleport them all in one shot if needed, since Aztyr has never been to Plateau City. He does think to ask " Are there any odd rules or customs I should be aware of in Plateau City?"

" What I think we are seeking is assistance in the form of knowledge about how to ultimately send this lich who has evaded your lord's realm to the reward he deserves. His minions wronged us by taking and experimenting on children your Grim adopted when she helped to slay the children's parents. We retaliated by executing the mage minion responsible and leaving the message that his master was next. The lord of mount bone took offense to being so challenged and has made the lives of those we hold dear a living hell ever since. He attacks our friends in our name using illusion to veil the attackers and make them appear to be us. He has dropped an Orb of darkness that grows as we speak into my home city, at the doors to my temple. We have observed his minions and been led to his warcamp. We executed the physical form of a Lich and now seek it's phylactery and a way to destroy it and be rid of that Lich. We are not certain that the Lich is the Lord we seek though. At least I am not certain. Can your scholars and undead hunters teach us what we need to know to rid the Wold of this fiend?" "Also, we have encountered undead with the physical form of Lichs and the skill of a very seasoned warrior. Dressed in magical heavy armor and fighting with skilled field tactics they were formidable foes. Their phylactery was inside their body and more easily found and destroyed. To the best of our knowledge these were also created in Mount Bone."

"Our idea is to hit back hard instead of playing defense, to attack rather than to react." Vauhwyt says. "We're staying mobile with multiple teleports per day, and no base of operations. We're defeating scrying with mundane defenses like smoke. We're using telepathy for all communications among ourselves."
"We could use advice on good targets of opportunity in addition to the advice on finding phylacteries. We have the old corpses of the lich, if that helps."
In Plateau City (Dm Glenn) Wednesday March 23rd, 2011 4:02:53 PM
Sitting in the warded meeting room within the temple of Gargul of Plateau City, the heroes continue to talk with the chief priest Morttish.
Mookie seems to take Morttish's calmness poorly, as Vauhwyt stuffs the familiar into a bag.
Malgant and Aztyr shares their thoughts and questions. Morttish nods, gravely as he replies "Yes the Lord of Mount Bone's abuses and twist souls to do his bidding, but it isn't clear if he himself is an undead. The Lich you dispatched is one of several which serves Mount Bone. His death isn't permanent unless you find and destroy his Phylactery. unfortunately the one you killed is one of three Lichs doing Mount Bones' bidding in raising a army of demons, outsiders and undead."
Valanthe discusses the one impersonating her, as Vorelle returns to the importance of the city eating orb. The bald priest sighs, "Yes, they poison they spread by cause harm for years. The orb is a potent weapon which needs to be neutralized."
Vauhwyt offers her proactive strategy in dealing with the Mount Bones problem. Morttish smile, "Then you might like what I have to offer."
Morttish begins to share what he know, "Little is known about Mount Bone or its lord, except that it seeks to expand its control. The Lich you killed is one of three Lichs doing Mount Bone's bidding in raising a army of demons, outsiders and undead. Unfortunately the whereabouts of their Phylacteries are unknown, but suspected to be under the control of Mount Bone."
Pausing a moment, the priest continues "Your actions of interrupting Mount Bone plans for the Harpy fledglings and Unicorn, and subsequent killing of a wizard researching abominations, has made you a high profile enemy of Mount Bone. Currently the task of dealing with you is still being left to servants of Mount Bone. If you continue to be a thorn in their side, I'm sure the Lord of Mount Bone will begin taking more direct action against your group."
Looking at Vauhwyt then the rest of the group, "As for additional opportunities to strike at Mount Bones, we know your impersonators will be making another attack within the hour. If you take your imposters out, before they can return you can use the teleportation circle in place of them and possibly catch one or both of the other lichs. Undoubtedly one of the Lichs has the device controlling the orb. As a bonus, if you manage to kill both liches, the army of demons and outsiders would be leaderless and soon fragment. Losing faith in Mount Bones ability's they would leave. Unfortunately you won't have time to rest and restore your powers."

Vauhwyt checks with her friends via telepathy first, and if they agree, tells the priest, "You have been very good to us as we come to you in a moment of need without warning, though our coming seems no surprise. We have a donation to make, as a sign of respect and a thank you. Although we do not all honor Gargul as first among gods, we certainly all feel awe at his majesty and devotion to both life and death."
OOC: We should donate at least 10 grand worth of loot, I suggest. These people are giving us a scry-free zone and great intel.

Question for Mal: Any chance for another Holy Aura? That spell was SUH-WEET! If not, definitely worth buying a scroll.
Questions for Morttish:
Are the imposters all demons?
Are they kept at bay by a Magic Circle vs Evil spell?
How about other demons we might face?
Are they going back to that same room in which we killed the lich?
Couldn't we just skip fighting the imposters and just go fight the two liches there?
Any chance for you guys casting some buffs on us before we go? Greater Spell Immunity? Mass Owl's Wisdom? Freedom of Movement? Death Ward? Align Weapon?
Seems to me the real advantage of killing the imposters and taking their place is the element of surprise on our return. So here's a BIG question ... any way you guys can tell us the actual name of one or both of the liches remaining? Remember we have the lich dust of the one we killed, so maybe we can use speak to dead to make him tell us? I'm thinking Trap The Soul with the trigger object option. We return, maybe with a glibness spell in place, and say, "Sir, we brought this back for you. You better take a look at it right away." Would that work on a lich?

Morttish shrugs "I don't know who the imposters are, but from your description it sounds like they may be demons and outsiders. If they are summoned then a protection vs evil spell would keep them at bay, but if they are plan shifted, or gated in then no. Any demons summoned by other demons would be so blocked by a Magic Circle. I don't know if they are in the same location, I wouldn't use the location if it was compromised. Using the Imposters teleportation circle will take you back to where they were. I can cast a Mass owl's Wisdom, one freedom, one death Ward, I don't have the others you asked for. Malgant thanks Mortish for the pearls and quickly relearns the 2 death wards prayers. They will be instrumental for those going toe to toe with the lich since the lich's touch IS negative energy itself. He also nods his thanks for the scrolls. They will be enough, though having only 1 shot to banish all of the impostors makes the fight a bit more desperate. This can work. If the group can hold back their attack and wait for the Holy word and see who is left standing then there should be fewer targets, possibly no targets. Then it is on to the lich itself. Malgant looks to Mortish to tell him when to start buffing for their next fight. OOC No Vauhwyt, no more chance at another Holy Aura. It didn't do much since we didn't let the lich do anything offensive. fire protection and perhaps a new cold protection would be great, since if Val and I are both caught in an AoE and neither of us save I will die straight away since I would take all of my damage and half of Val's. Aztyr can fix that if she tries but if she can't do it fast I won't be coming back. There were 3 ogre magi Glenn's description of the away team so I expect 3 cones of cold, overlapping on us. With those odds if We don't save vs almost all of them the combined damage will get me. But better just me than both Val and me.

Malgant hears the arguments for waiting, and thinks how much of Imod City will be gone in another day. If necessary he would allow himself to be teleported there with a towel for armor and a flyswatter and garbage can lid to fight with just to gain the chance that this attack can bring. Spells are low, so they need to be conserved until the lich is revealed. Mortish has offered healing to the heroes so Malgant cannot understand the cries of injury that he hears. Of all of them he is most at risk to the area spells the Oni will surely use since he will take both is and some of Valanthe's damage. " I fail to see what all of the whining is about. This is the opportunity we have been presented with. If Mortish needs to take me to the top of the temple and launch me from a catapult to get me there, I am going. The group consisted of two female demons and three of the Oni Val and I have already made quick work of in the other Lich's room. ( Glenn mentioned others but I have yet to get any description of them or a yea or nay that they are with the away team) If needs be I can haste myself. This is the opportunity Vauhwyt has been talking of. Instead of waiting to react we step into the Lich's domain and rip his head off. We will not see another opportunity like it soon, if ever. If we sit here discussing why we cannot do this it will be tommorow before any of this is resolved." "Vauhwyt, you wanted a catacombs run, so do I. I need you to show me where it is. We leave in less than five minutes and need to be back in less than thirty. I need a list of the scrolls that are going to be needed by the time we go. Remember, I am expecting a loud single word of the sweetest holy light imaginable and then no more awayt team for the bad guys. From there we will need to take on another lich room, maybe two. Think ahead and make your list." Malgant turns to Mortish, his blood burning in his veins now. This will work, it has to. To the high priest he asks quietly. " High Priest Mortish, I thank you for all of the intelligence you have gathered for us and the help you are providing for us to accomplish this task. If I might ask one more thing of you, may I have a quiet corner of your temple for a moment to make peace with my god before this fight. Despite my optimism if something goes wrong on this mission we are surely going to have deaths. Since I will lead this charge the first will likely be me. Imod needs to know to prepare for that."

Speak with Dead I don't have it preped It is a violation of the deceased persons rest so I would think Gargul would frown on its use, so don't ask here They are generally pissed when you talk to them and will likely save , so nothing useful will probably be gained, also I think it takes a long time to cast, so we don't have time.
Trap the soul Again the whole Gargul thing He doesn't have a soul in his body. That's why you can't follow it, can't see it depart and can't find it. It is safe in the Phylactery.
Fooling them We are them so we should be able to pull it off swimmingly. I, as a cleric, glow like a freaking lighthouse as a good creature. This is how I read the Aura ability of clerics, Glenn may read it less harshly but I think we will fool them for about 1 to 2 rounds, tops.
Killing the Lich Aztyr has a sweet idea that he wishes to keep secret from Glenn, so ask him in an email. While not foolproof I think it has a chance. Besides, that can wait,we have other stuff that requires us to focus, now.

I'd prefer to carry the gems so, if you want to take care of that Vauhwyt I'd be happy." Aztyr then turns towards the High Priest and thinks for a couple minutes..... "Mr. Mortish, can you have an Alter hallowed with a Dimentinal Anchor cast on it to bind something I want to try and do in the morning. Mortish we could try to speak with the lich's dead body, but lich's are powerful creatures it may or may not work. Also, while Trapping the lich may work, it soul would still be trapped an unable to pass on.

Vauhwyt asks the high priest if a Commune spell would reveal the name of one of the liches.
"If it succeeds, and we have the name of a lich, then we should totally try Trap the Soul. Keep in mind that it is a teleport-style conjuration that traps the body as well as the soul. That's why I think it will work."

Also, I would encourage you to think of the undead not so much as our enemy, but as ill, lost, or trapped souls that need our help to be freed. Also, Speak with dead doesn't work on a corpse that as been an undead creature. The Commune spell gives only yes and no answers."
Aztyr waits while her the others make the purchases for her.

Vauhwyt (HP126+12, AC41) and Mookie (HP63+2, AC33) Wednesday April 6th, 2011 11:03:13 PM
Lich Sightings:
Jan 15: Vauhwyt's Detect Scrying gives her an image of a Lich who is spying on the party. The Detect Scrying image is not sufficient to allow a teleport. Vauhwyt discovers that there are actually three casters scrying the party, but she sees only one, and it is a lich.
Feb 28: Both Aztyr and Mal scry the female demon: "An alluring woman, with Tiny horns, bat-like wings and a sinuous tail betraying her demonic nature as she leads a small group of other outsiders three Ogre Mages and another like herself though what appears to be a war camp of outsiders Oni and other Demons, in some underground place. As you watch she and her crew approach an old stone structure, with a few outsider and undead guards at the entrance."
March 1: Aztyr and Mal continue their scrying: "the alluring demon woman and her group enter the stone structure, it appears to be a work area with more guards and a lich who is putting the finishing touches on a magic circle of some sort. He turns to the demon woman saying something then casting a Veil spell upon the group making them look like two liontaurs, a Minotaur, dark elf, and human. Looking very similar to what your group looked like when you attacked the wizards lab. The Lich proceeds to give some instructions then one by one the group weapons ready steps into the magic circle and disappear. The last is the demon woman looking like Valanthe steps into the teleportation circle and disappear."
A Question to Dm Glenn -- the Lich Vauhwyt saw on Jan 15 -- did it look like the one the party destroyed?
Mal, you are right. The one lich you and Aztyr saw is the one we defeated. We knew there were three casters scrying on us, but we did not know there were three liches until Mortish told us so on March 23. I may have seen one of the two remaining, see question to Glenn above.

Mortish leads Malgant to a gust room for praying, at the Minotaur's request. After the preforming the required rituals to request aid from Imod, the same deva who fight along side you in the ill fated attempt to rescue the harpies appears. Nodding respectfully to Malgant, "Greeatings, brother in arms. I know time is of the essence in the task before you, but know this while I may help you in the first part of your mission my presence in the second part my hinder your task, for I will not hide from the demons. Imod has set the price of my services at 1500gp for assisting you against the imposters, and an additional 6000gp in this battle against the lichs."
Valanthe speculates about how the Lich's soul controls the body. Vorelle comments how the orb also appears to be remotely controlled, wishing there was a way to disrupt it.
As Vauhwyt compares the description of the lich she saw verses the one Mal and Aztyr saw, the liontuar comes to conclusion that they are the same lich. (sorry, rolled a 1 in 3 chance)
Mortish informs you that you should complete your research projects soon, for you will need to start casting the prep spells shortly.
Moderate Fortification, Mind Blank, AC 33, 174/174 hp Malgant Friday April 8th, 2011 5:34:56 PM " I find that price a bargain for your assistance. While I would not ask you to hide from them I would ask that you give us perhaps 20 seconds( 3 rounds) to get close to the Lich using subterfuge and then bring the glory of your holy presence through the teleportation circle the Lich is using. By that time I am certain we will be in position to strike the Lich and you will have free reign to destroy as many of the demons as you can. The Lich is our target, and there may be a second Lich lurking around the place. One of them controls an orb of darkness that consumes all it touches, that is parked outside Imod's temple in Imod City. I need to get that orb gone so that this monster no longer holds my brethren and my kin hostage. I am hoping to rely on you to grant us a holy aura before the fight to defeat the worst of the enemy's spells and to use your holy word as freely as you like to send the impostors and as many of the Lich's minions back to the Abyss. Is that acceptable to you? Some pinch healing and your holy mace may also come in handy as I will be shielding our warrior maiden Valanthe with my own vitality. She is our Lich slayer since she has a weapon that is most effective against that type of undead." Malgant also describes the demons they have seen so far to the Deva, hoping she can use her vast knowledge of the demons of the Abyss to tell them how to play their part and how to fight their foes once the combat begins. He describes the succubus, the oni and the Babau, plus any others he saw through the scrying portal he used earlier.

Malgant, having been trained as a tactician as well as a warrior by Gralnir Swordbreaker asks some more questions of Mortish." I expect our fight with the impostors will be over in a matter of seconds if all goes as planned. You have knowledge of their previous raids it seems so let me ask you. How long should we wait before returning through the Teleport circle? Too soon and we will be suspect, the same with too long, though we could cite difficulties in that case as an excuse. What do they do when they return to the Lich's warcamp? How do they address him? We want this to be believable so we can get as close as possible before striking."
AC 42 HP 187/ 187 Valanthe Sunday April 10th, 2011 11:42:34 PM
As bargains and prays, Valanthe sets about preparing for the battle herself. Stretches to keep her muscles loose and limber. As well as get the blood flowing. The worst thing that could happen would be to go into a battle tight and feel the pain from a muscle sprain or tear. A sure way to meet Gargul before your time.

The Deva nods to Malgant, "Agreed then, it is a good day for killing demons and Lichs."
At Malgant's futher questions about the imposters raids, Mortish spreads his hands "Alas, I only know what news has traveled here, the the knowledge of your coming and the coming raid was give to me in a vision from Gargul. I do know that it takes a few moments for everyone to pass through the teleport circle, so they attack from a building or ally killing or wounded who they can then retreating and vanishing before the city guards has time to reply, so I suspect a minute or two for each raid. As for the other questions I have no idea?"
Valanthe stretches and warms up the coming battle.
Mortish looks at the clock, "It is time to cast what pre-battle spells you have. I will cast the ones which I have, then transport you to the site. You will have time to take action before they make they start the raid." The priest touches each of you with a charm from one of the two bracelets he has with him.

After arrival, Vauhwyt uses her Partial Darkwalk ability to merge Mookie and herself with the Realm of Shadows. She is still present in the Wold proper, but she and Mookie gain 20& concealment, the ability to make Stealth checks with no other cover or concealment needed, and +8 on those checks. Mookie and Vauhwyt both hide in the Realm's Shadows. Mookie lowers his spell resistance so he can enter the Realm too.

I would say it should be Val, so that she can move closer to the lich without raising suspicion. The female demons I saw were pretty clearly in charge of the raid and it is they that should be reporting the raid's outcome." In Acid City Malgant, well known to the folk of Acid City from the time he and his companions saved the town from Slaad and restored the lake to water from Acid moves quickly into the market shooing the crowd before him. " GO! DANGER IS COMING! GET CLEAR OF THE STREETS AND TAKE REFUGE IN YOUR HOMES, THE INN OR THE TEMPLE! GO NOW, THERE IS LITTLE TIME!" He also makes shooing motions as if trying to chase a herd of geese. Many of these folk have also seen him at his destructive worst when the Slaad unleashed a word of chaos and Malgant was confused and rampaged through the market. Whichever scene they remember, his display now should be enough to set them scurrying for shelter.

Aztyr watches as Malgant casts the spells from scrolls and allows it to effect her. While He's doing that she commands the Hat of Disguise to make her seem to become a centaur, in chain armor wielding a bow, with a quiver on her back and a couple swords at her waist. After they arrive in Acid City, she plans on casting Haste(extended with rod) just before the Demons arrive, but she takes and casts Telepathic Bond as soon as they arrive, on everyone.

The Pretenders in Acid City (Dm Glenn) Wednesday April 13th, 2011 5:10:31 PM
Vauhwyt and Mookie merge into the Realm of Shadows, nearly undetectable to everyone.
Trying to save the bystanders, Malgant moves into the market area shooing and waring to crowed to leave. Everyone looks at the Minatuar for a moments wondering if he is mad, before someone yells "It the Mad attackers! There attacking again!" The crowed starts to flee, screening as they go.
Aztyr looking like a Centaur warrior, cast her final prep spells as she moves for cover.
Vorelle uses her keen senses to watch for their foes, and is the first to here them attack. As they come charging out of the south ally with weapons draw and screeching like death itself.
Malgant's warning has cleared the immediate area of most of the people, except for one kid who is caught between the true heroes and the imposters. The pretenders look close enough to the causal observer to the party's normal appearance that it would be difficult to tell them apart. (Perception DC20 to tell the the PCs and NPCs apart)
Your look alike foes freeze for a moment, when they realize they are facing the real heroes.
Most of the people are fleeing the street, but one kid gets trapped between the two groups!
The Deva warns you "Get the demons before they can teleport away!"
Mookie goes for a fast mount of Vauhwyt as a free action ... his ride check is a 50, so no problem. Then he draws and uses his magic missile wand, aiming at Val2.
Mookie activates his glorious Smite ability to do +15 damage vs his chosen evil foe.
"Focus fire to take them out fast," thinks Mookie to everybody via telepathy. "Aim at the one that looks like Val!" His roll to counter spell resist: 28. His damage is 5d4+5+15 = 31 to Val2.

Mookie gets off the first shot hitting the fake Val with a holy magic missile. Vauhwyt with Mookie move into the foes.

The fake Vol moves to attack Val (touch attack hit ac 39, 36vsSR takes 37hp) her touch drains life from Val into the demon. (blind SR check:22 fort: 17) she too is blinded by the holy aura.

Malgant grits his teeth as the waves of frost hit him. He resists both of them and The magic protection absorbs what he didn't resist. However, the fake Val reaches out and touches him right over his heart, piercing all of the protections he has in place and sucking a large portion of his life out of him. When the same thing happens to Val amlgant is further wounded. Coughing blood he begins thinking tactically. To the Deva he thinks " The liontaur next to you and I, Flank it and make it die. Aztyr disintegrate the same one and take back all she just did to me, Vorelle if you can, help Aztyr, Vauhwyt kill someone, your choice, this has to end fast because that really hurt." Vorelle dodges the blast of cold [Reflex 21; Evasion]. She winces as Malgant takes a pounding. Then, heeding his words, she changes her focus to fake Val, who seems to have taken more damage.
Any leftover shots go back to fake Vauhwyt.
[Step to E-5. Hit AC 32 for 12 damage; hit AC 26 for 12 damage; hit AC 25 for 12 damage; hit AC 27 for 16 damage; hit AC 24 for 13 damage.]
Mookie attempts a fast dismount as a free action ... Ride 33 = no problem. He points his wand at the same target, evil Val, hitting with magic missiles that penetrate spell resist 20 for 37. Then he tumbles at speed (Acrobatics check to avoid provoking AoOs, taken at -10, is a 22) to I-19, blessing Aztyr for that haste which grants him extra move and +1 AC.
Mookie thinks at Mal: "Good plan, cowboy! Why waste our resources on enemies that are going to be banished anyway ... oh, wait."
Vauhwyt thinks: "Hush, Mookie. Sorry, Mal."
Vauhwyt takes a five-foot step to I-16. She activates her Arcane Strike as a free action. She and Mookie are now flanking the one that looks like Aztyr. She takes a haste-fueled full attack on fake Aztyr. Her lucky armor spikes are running at a +1 this round. Reduced, she gains a +1 to hit from her higher dex and weapon finesse, and a +1 to hit because she is medium sized. Flanking gives her a +2 as well. She gains a +1 due to the haste but not a +1 due to the aid -- it does not stack with the heroism. Her two primary attacks are at +26/+26, and her secondary attack is at +21. Her paws are at +23/+23. Thanks to flanking, all attacks are sneak attacks. Her damage is +1 str +3 enh +1 luck (spikes only) +3 arcane strike
1) Armor spikes primary: Hits AC40 for 14 plus 18 sneak attack. 2) Armor spikes primary extra from haste: Hits AC32 for 12 plus 14 s.a. 3) Armor spikes secondary: Hits AC41, a crit threat! Follow up crits vs AC24. Damage is 13 (+14 if crit) plus 15 s.a. (s.a. damage is not multiplied on a crit). 4) Left paw: Hits AC39 for 10 plus 14 s.a. 5) Right paw: Hits AC27 for 9 plus 17 s.a.
If Aztyr2 is AC24 or worse, then all attacks hit for total 72 plus 78 s.a. damage, 150 hp damage total.
After all that, neither Mookie nor Vauhwyt are hidden, but they do still both benefit from the 20% miss chance of concealment.

He wasn't, but if the enemy had offered an AoO, he could have taken it, right? Granted, then he could not also use it to boost his AC, but if that's what it takes to gain the flanking bonuses, no prob. I'm saying that if he gives up the shield's AC bonus, he can use the shield to be armed, to make AoOs, and to threaten squares.
And neither Vauhwyt nor Mookie are incorporeal at all! Both were and still are Partial Darkwalking, which gives concealment but not incorporeality, and does not stop them from making attacks.

OOC Nonflanking on a bad day I think Vauhwyt can do 50 points of damage. So moving on... IC The Deva second's Val's notion that these were not very tough foes, having barely broken a sweat helping to defeat them. Just then a strange look comes over her. She turns to Malgant and Aztyr and asks again what the larger demons looked like when viewed without the Veil spell. When the information is given to her she frowns and starts quickly tossing the bodies into a pile. Knowledge planes 38 " Those sound like Oni in the husk of an ogre. No matter what body they inhabit, they can regenerate. We will need to burn them."
OOC looting for demonic goodness will have to wait until they are properly cooked. That roll was enough to reveal detailed info on the Deva so I figured it was good enough to know they can regen. If not Glenn then just recant what she says and we'll figure it out the hard way. 8)
