Vorelle goes to work with her bow. Vauhwyt's double is the one closest to the child, so that's the one Vorelle targets. If that target has been killed or banished, Vorelle instead targets a foe who has been damaged by one of her friends.

[Hit AC 24 for 11 damage; hit AC 29 for 15 damage; hit AC 25 for 16 damage; hit AC 23 for 12 damage; hit AC 32 for 10 damage. That last one was a critical threat, but probably did not confirm on a 16.]

Valanthe charges forward, moving quickly in her mithril plate armor and magical boots. She really hops they dont teleport away. Valanthe really wants to hurt these monsters.

"You didnt think that you would get through this without having to step up and face us in battle? That we would just let this go. I have this new warhammer and I'm going to use it and crunch all your bones to dust."

(ooc: reduced Vauhwyt's icon on map, I took it that Aztyr did cast haste as just after you arrived. The Armbands would reduce the Perception check to DC0, if and when the PCs and NPCs get mixed up. Right now there is no need to make Perception checks to ID friends and foes.)


Mookie gets off the first shot hitting the fake Val with a holy magic missile. Vauhwyt with Mookie move into the foes.

Malgant tries to shield the child as he uses the holy word scroll and the Deva does the same with her spell like ability. None of the Foes seem to be affected by the good words. (ooc: all their HD are greater than 13}

Aztyr targets Val's double with her magic {fort 15 fail}, the succubus screams in pain as the parts of her the magic tries to disintegrate her {mass dam 17 save} she looks angrily at the centaur.

Vorelle fires a volley of arrows at the false Vauhwyt hitting with all five. While not none of the arrows were critically they each did significant damage.

Charging forward, Valanthe declares her intent to smash them with her hammer.

The angry Val/succubus screams with rage, "kill the so called heroes!"

Vauhwyt look alike fires a cone of cold catching Mal, Val and Vor for 42 cold reflext save DC18 for half(21) (SR check 28, 32, 26 vs sr25 all good)

The Mal lookalike follows suite sending out a second wave of cold (sr check 18, 29, 23) only effect Mal this time for 59 cold reflex save DC18 for half(29).

The false Aztyr fires an arrow at the flying Deva (hit ac 27) but misses.

The false Val steps forward to touch Mal (touch attack hit ac 41 {crit 30}, 34 vs SR damage
draining his very life force into herself. 34+40=74) the demon drains the live from Mal, but is blinded in the process by the holy aura (blind check 19save & 32SR)
(ooc: Since Vampiric touch isn't energy drain, channeling negative energy or death effect, I don't believe Death ward protects Mal)

The fake Vol moves to attack Val (touch attack hit ac 39, 36vsSR takes 37hp) her touch drains life from Val into the demon. (blind SR check:22 fort: 17) she too is blinded by the holy aura.

The bystanders continue to run away, except for the kid who steps back from the scary looking Vauhwyt.

Well...Crap!! Moving on....

Val remember to take only half damage for the Vampric touch. It isn't negative anergy ( anymore) or a death affect but it IS damage dealt so half is MINE all mine oww this was poorly thought out.

Malgant grits his teeth as the waves of frost hit him. He resists both of them and The magic protection absorbs what he didn't resist. However, the fake Val reaches out and touches him right over his heart, piercing all of the protections he has in place and sucking a large portion of his life out of him. When the same thing happens to Val amlgant is further wounded. Coughing blood he begins thinking tactically. To the Deva he thinks " The liontaur next to you and I, Flank it and make it die. Aztyr disintegrate the same one and take back all she just did to me, Vorelle if you can, help Aztyr, Vauhwyt kill someone, your choice, this has to end fast because that really hurt." Malgant then drives home his statement by flailing at the fake Vauhwyt.

The Deva flies to I 14 and unleashes a full round of attacks on the Fake Vauhwyt using her hammer in both hands and power attacking

Vorelle dodges the blast of cold [Reflex 21; Evasion]. She winces as Malgant takes a pounding. Then, heeding his words, she changes her focus to fake Val, who seems to have taken more damage.

Any leftover shots go back to fake Vauhwyt.

Mookie attempts a fast dismount as a free action ... Ride 33 = no problem. He points his wand at the same target, evil Val, hitting with magic missiles that penetrate spell resist 20 for 37. Then he tumbles at speed (Acrobatics check to avoid provoking AoOs, taken at -10, is a 22) to I-19, blessing Aztyr for that haste which grants him extra move and +1 AC.

Mookie thinks at Mal: "Good plan, cowboy! Why waste our resources on enemies that are going to be banished anyway ... oh, wait."

Vauhwyt thinks: "Hush, Mookie. Sorry, Mal."

Vauhwyt takes a five-foot step to I-16. She activates her Arcane Strike as a free action. She and Mookie are now flanking the one that looks like Aztyr. She takes a haste-fueled full attack on fake Aztyr. Her lucky armor spikes are running at a +1 this round. Reduced, she gains a +1 to hit from her higher dex and weapon finesse, and a +1 to hit because she is medium sized. Flanking gives her a +2 as well. She gains a +1 due to the haste but not a +1 due to the aid -- it does not stack with the heroism. Her two primary attacks are at +26/+26, and her secondary attack is at +21. Her paws are at +23/+23. Thanks to flanking, all attacks are sneak attacks. Her damage is +1 str +3 enh +1 luck (spikes only) +3 arcane strike

OOC: when I bring up the map there are no words by the names so Val will attack fake Vol who touched her so she has to be close.

Valanthe unleashes her full fury, tempred with training and skill upon the demon. Showing this demon and all the others that it will take a lot more than a draining touch through her armor to stop her.

Aztyr unleash another Disintegrate on the false Val wounding her after burning away the life stolen from Mal.

Brushing of the cold blast, Malgant continues on despite the life drain. The minotaur strikes at the fake Vauhwyt hitting it twice. The Deva help attack the same hitting it four times with lethal force killing the first foe.

Vorelle sends her next volley at the fake Val hitting her all five times taker her down.

Mookie uses the wand against evil Vol, while Vauhwyt attacks the fake Aztyr hitting her with every thing she has, unfortunately Mookie is only armed with a wand and doesn't threaten the foe enough to provide a flank. Still the liontaur rips into the fake liontaur. (sorry, no weapon -> no threat -> no flank -> no sneak attack. Good try.)

Valanthe unleashes her full fury upon the evil Vol hitting her four times once critically killing her barely.

The Mal lookalike steps up and attacks Val (hit ac 36, 29) both blows fall short

The false Aztyr send a blast of cold over the battle field (64 dam save reflex DC18 save for half (32), 33 vs SR25,31, 28, 18, 17 ) unfortunately, the kid get frozen in the blast. Mal, Vauh, Val, deva and Mal2 are also in the blast, but it doesn't get through the spell resistance of the deva or evil Mal2.

Rolling to the side Malgant mostly avoids the cone of stinging cold, what he doesn't avoid id absorbed by the protection spell. "Val with me on my lookalike, Deva help Vauhwyt, Vorelle and Aztyr firs support on whichever looks toughest. We have this ."Malgant steps to G-H/11-12 to give Val flanking and then he begins hitting his lookalike.

Aztyr decides to aid those beating on her double. She reaches down, resting her han on one of her rods. She focuses her power, threading it through the rod of Maximise. She releases it as a Magic Missile spell.
Directing the missiles to strike her double is easy enough, even though it's strange to be hitting something that looks like herself.

Valanthe turns her attention toward the ogre mage pretending to be Mal. She makes a note of the succubus' fallen body (unless it vanishes) so she wont trip on it in battle.

"I'm a little dissapointed. These foes are no real challenge. They fall in a matter of seconds." Valanthe complains as she turns her fury onto the ogre.

Was Mookie welding the shield as a weapon? Also assuming Mookie is still Incorporeal, does the shield have a magical attack bonus or ghost touch ability? Dm Glenn

He wasn't, but if the enemy had offered an AoO, he could have taken it, right? Granted, then he could not also use it to boost his AC, but if that's what it takes to gain the flanking bonuses, no prob. I'm saying that if he gives up the shield's AC bonus, he can use the shield to be armed, to make AoOs, and to threaten squares.

And neither Vauhwyt nor Mookie are incorporeal at all! Both were and still are Partial Darkwalking, which gives concealment but not incorporeality, and does not stop them from making attacks.

(ooc: isnt this what Vauhwyt is using? darkwalking - "At 6th level, the grim can fully enter the Realm of Shadow and also affect those who remain in the Wold. This is treated as Incorporeality." If not this, then what? -DM Glenn)

Vorelle sees that her friends are doing well in the fight, and that the child is still not moving. She winces as the arctic blast washes over him.

"That's it," she says, and strides over to him [move to I-9]. "Come on, kid, this is no place for you." She grabs the kid and tries to pull him away. [Which I guess is a Combat Maneuver of some kind? 29 on my check.]

Malgant pounds on his body double hitting it hard with staggering blows. As the Deva flanks the fake Aztyr for Vauhwyt and soften it up a bit too.

Aztyr sends a powerful magic force missile into her duplicate

Valanthe give the pretender Mal some TLC from her twin hammers sending the creature to its death a bit disappointed in the challenge.

Vorelle trying to save the kid find him frozen dead where he stands from the previous cold blast.

Vauhwyt using her abilities attacks the remaining foe give the flank by the deva {if she can do 50+ pt the fight is over.}

Nonflanking on a bad day I think Vauhwyt can do 50 points of damage. So moving on...

The Deva second's Val's notion that these were not very tough foes, having barely broken a sweat helping to defeat them. Just then a strange look comes over her. She turns to Malgant and Aztyr and asks again what the larger demons looked like when viewed without the Veil spell. When the information is given to her she frowns and starts quickly tossing the bodies into a pile.

looting for demonic goodness will have to wait until they are properly cooked. That roll was enough to reveal detailed info on the Deva so I figured it was good enough to know they can regen. If not Glenn then just recant what she says and we'll figure it out the hard way. 8)
