Edmund is in his bathtub just after Revi barges in and as he's trying to decide what to do about her, has a brainstorm, just as he's about to yell out what he figured out, another yells out before he can. Falmar is discussing the message to send to the Pitchfork council when he realizes something and he opens his mouth to tell Tishe` his realization, but another yells out "I Got it!!!" Ramen is in the midst of he prayers when a gleam of a thought forces itself to the fore front. His realization is important enough that he yells out "I got it!!! I know what we were doing wrong the entire time. It was so simple, it's no wonder we missed it" He heads back to the dining room, meeting up with most of the others. "What was the one thing the Old man there was doing the entire time we were trying to cure him. He was eating and drinking. Don't you see? That explains why every time you saw the magic fade away, it returned just as fast. Doesn't make sense explained that way?" Now, with new ideas being floated around, what will out Heroes try next?

The sorcerer then hurls a single arcane word at her and an bright flash of light bursts in front of her face; it doesn't hurt her, but it may well dazzle her long enough for Edmund to get himself dressed. (Flare spell, Fort. DC 19 negates).
With that, Edmund grabs his towel and rises to his feet, grabbing his dressing gown as he does so. "Get OUT!" he says again angrily.
Whether or not Revi leaves, Edmund storms out of the room and down into the commons where the discussion is taking place.

With a few minutes of finagling Snafu manages to get a goblet full of wine from Ahmed's wineskin. After he gets the goblet of wine, he opens the lunchbag and out pops a sandwich. The sandwich is ham, with cheese, lettuce, tomato and onion. It's on slices of brown bread, enough to make a full meal out of it. He returns the lunchbag to Ahmed's belt and the group has fresh stuff to test as well as the vial full gathered earlier. Casting Detect Magic or using Arcane Sight and studying the food and wine shows that a faint conjuration magic lingers on all of the items. When the Vial is uncapped, it's become rancid, gone sour, turned the corner or a dozen other statements to indicate it is no longer safe to drink. The Wine in the goblet smells delicious with a fruity aroma. Continued study of the food and drink shows nothing further to do with the sandwich, but there is a fairly strong Enchantment aura on the wine. That Enchantment also shows on the spoiled wine as well. A quick glance at the Wineskin and lunchbag show the same auras as before when checked.

Tishe' turns her mind to the problem at hand; the ever-refilling magical food and drink. "Conjuration magic may just be from the food wallet, and the magic is benign. I don't see any Necromantic spells around the wine or food, so it is unlikely that there is a curse or magical disease. What I didn't think of before was a poison to make him like he is."
The witch's determination solidifies and she looks at her companions. "Whatever the cause, the first step is to divest him of the food and wine. If we can't do it by stealth, it will have to be by force. For his own good."
"Let me try to magic him into giving up the food wallet and wineskin. If not" (and here she turns to Kahlan, Falmar, and Ramen, the three Paladins) "you will have to pin him down and we'll remove it by force."
So, Tishe' tries her way first. Casting a Dominate Person on Ahmed, controlling the man's body to take off the food wallet and wineskin and then walking into another room.
If the spell fails, Tishe' nods to the warriors to Grapple the man and Pin him to the ground so they can remove the magical items by force.

Tishe` casts her spell, the old man seems to just let it flow over him, and then proceeds to ignore Tishe` pretty much the same as before she cast. Snafu lites off a Ray of Exhaustion, which hits him, but only takes partial effect on him, then it looks like everyone else pig piles on top of him and they manage to hold him down. There is a struggle, a goblet gets knocked off the table which brings the cook out of the kitchen, he then sees what is going on and returns to his room. You manage to remove both the lunch bag and the wineskin from him, it does take a lot of effort to hold him down, Kahlan catches a foot to the stomach, Edmund gets his robe ripped when the old man reaches out and grabs it. Ramen has one hand occupied, it's clamped on his ankle. In simple words, it's quickly turning into a mess.

"We'll keep it under lock and key in the vault" Snafu said to himself and anyone else that might have accompanied him. "If testing needs to be done, we'll do it in the lab next door, which was constructed for such a purpose."

He relents to staying in the tower with all of you. He looks in the bottom of the cauldron and sees the mercury, he looks up and says, "It should return to normal after a day or so, it's not permanent." As people spend time after things get settled, they inspect the gems and find they are nothing but gems, valuable, but normal. Come first light, you discover Akhum is gone, but there is a note.
Thank You again, I think I'll take you up on the offer to help out.

"It might be worth tracking him... but on the other hand, if he's in good health, I don't want to be intrusive. If he's accepting our offer of help, maybe we should find out more about this kingdom and what could be going on? The council might be of help in this matter..."

Tishe' gives everyone a "Many Shadows", especially Mouse who is busily setting up breakfast for everyone. The witch has no orders or requests, happy to eat anything that isn't her cooking. And during breaking her fast, muses about what the group should do today.
"I think some pairs walking about the village and nearby pastures and fields is a good idea. We'll be able to see any evidence of Akhum or the Royal Guards, and ensure the people who have migrated here for protection are actually protected. I'm going to stay here and see what divinations I am able to complete to learn more of these creatures and thier situation."
What Tishe' doesn't mention is that running water and a forest of trees still gives her the willies, these two things being so unnatural to what she grew up with.

Tishe`, it would seem is correct, at least about the armor, there is indeed 2 sets of familiar armor now inside her cauldron. As the elderly witch listens to everyone's opinions, she just nods as everyone has their say. "Yes, they are indeed outsiders, that much I have determined. The evidence would lead me to believe that they are from a country so far to the north that I have only heard rumors of it. And those rumors are all I have to work with. But as they say, there are nuggets of truth in almost every rumor. There is a contested Kingdom called Masa Samak, it is ruled by Large sized Outsiders, who left their own plane and took up residence. It's rumored that about twenty years ago some rift caused a sort of civil war. A war between brothers, between cousins, between husband and wife. After a couple years it seemed to end, no one knows why tho. These outsiders live peacefully with the humans who live in the same country, or at least I'm lead to believe so. It's also rumored that they are wish granters, but some how I doubt that, that's just too much to believe possible." The old witch seems to be finished, because she stops speaking, and is once again listening, or at least waiting to listen.

He wears only a vest, which is made of woven gold, or at least appears to be made of it. He wears pantaloons and curly pointed slippers.
