The tunnels go silent/DM Buzz d20-4=-3 ; Wednesday October 19th, 2011 4:01:08 PM
The creature is heard by all, somewhere in the distance. It's chitinous carapace grinding against each other like metal plates. Soon though, it is heard to stop.
Zane uses unknown power to charge his hands after attempting to look around the far corner. He can see, beyond the magical illumination, more darkness. Please be specific when using magical powers, abilities or spells.
Kyan and Azrael "stay".
Beriothian is thoughtful on the terrain. If one were not cautious, battle in these quarters could obscur vision. Reflex save DC 12 or be blinded for 1d3 rounds. If a creature were invisible, they would have less concealment, with the dirt continuously falling down upon them. Perception skills are harder to use, with the twisting earth and root infested tunnel. However, these conditions might not be the same, in the darker sections of the tunnels, left unseen. Highlight to display spoiler: {Stick figure is the Dancing Lights spell.}
Restlin cleans himself up a bit as he waits for the others, more prone to not being eaten alive by giant insects, to move up.
Beltrin throws out suggestions on how to deal with a gargantuan creature like this forest centipede. The elf rogues words prove true as Beltrin makes movement and dirt falls upon him, his concealment is less then if he wasn't sprinkled with earth.
Bosk waits to see how the creature approaches. He stands defensively in anticipation.
There is no more sound from the dark tunnels. Since before, it's movements were obvious, it must now be in whatever spot or position it wants to be in. Clearly, the beast waits for the prey to approach at this time.
As for the idea about the magical light with sounds, the ranger and druid would likely know, the vague humanoid light is clearly not a creature nor would it be remotely edible for such a beast. There may want to be a fall back plan, just in case, this does not work.

Restlin will move forward, though he's careful to stay away from the walls of this tunnel. Not only is he concerned of giant centipedes bursting through them, it also means more dirt getting on his clothes. All in all, he considers both these possibilities unseemly.
He steps forward to I-21 and re-prestidigitizes off any newly acquired dirt.

Rough terrain or?/DM Buzz Friday October 21st, 2011 3:41:43 PM
After several rounds, the Iron Adventurers come to a "T" intersection. Going left is a tangling, mess of more roots. More difficult terrain to hinder the groups progress.
To the right though, is a very obstruct free tunnel, the same size as the others. The walls appear to have loose dirt and all the roots seem to be trimmed fairly close to the ground. A wide open tunnel, with loose soil spread along the floor. This tunnel seems to be the lair for something. Perhaps, one could call it, inviting.
With the Dancing Lights spell, it can travel down the clear passage and is seen, the tunnel turns left around fifty feet from the intersection.

As the cleric comes upon the intersection he looks and listens carefully for the centipede. If he cannot determine the proper direction he will draw a marble and a glass orb from his pocket and offer one to Zane, the marble casting light (CL3) and the orb with a light cantrip on it (both lotto items). These will light up our path some. I think we should be able to roll them quite a ways down the tunnel, and it will provide us with a better view.

Zeoll figures his lens can be put to good use here. He casts a Taurs Try cantrip (centaur form, cancelling his other one). He inspects the floor for tracks, trying to discern which branch of the tunnel is most likely to be travelled by a giant centipede, and which one has the freshest tracks. Maybe he can tell other details from any marks on the floor.
Survival check is normally at +10, +5 for lens, +2 for cantrip, +2 for heroism, is total +19 ... a 33.

Zeoll does not see any tracks along the artificial ground. The centipede has not been this way, at least not recently. If any other adventurers before this group have been here, there is no sign of them.

Kyan will move up with the group, Azrael trailing behind.
Doube move to U29 (if I can share space with Restlin, assuming I can as we're not currently in combat) Azrael to T29
Round 12/DM Buzz Monday October 31st, 2011 5:54:04 PM
Now the group is closer to the entrance of the chamber. It seems large, with a ceiling unseen. Long sinewy strands of fibrous roots run vertically from the soft soiled floor of the cavern up to whatever magnificent plant that is so large as to need these huge life lines. Bits of dirt cover the various strands.
The javelin sinks into one of the roots and it is a few feet over, the key can be seen, entwined in the fibers of the plant. (AD/24,25)
Restlin, perhaps as a nervous habit, makes a morbid joke. He assists another look more proper.
Bosk offers some advice that confuses the monk a little bit. He has the opportunity to drop his buckler while he moves.
Beriothian is not some gutter side rogue. He is articulate and knowledgeable on many subjects. He is fully aware of what normal centipedes have as habits and can garner from that, this creature is very similar, except gargantuan in size and more ferocious.
Beltrin sends his spell a little further in and lights up what is currently seen. This time, he keeps it close instead of sending it out to explore the room.
It is not possible for Zane to occupy the coordinates requested, so he stands back, away from the fellow Minotaur with the reach weapon.
Kyan and Azrael move closer so they to can see the cavern.
The little black half moon on the map is the top of the tunnel as it opens up into a much higher chamber.

Round 13/DM Buzz d20+13=17 ; Tuesday November 1st, 2011 7:59:47 PM
All seems to be going well as Zeoll joins the party. Well that is until Beltrin decides to advance into the room provoking an attack of opportunity from the creature that is hanging on the wall above the tunnel entrance. With cat like reflexes and a shimmer from the Mage Armor spell, the beast hanging above the entryway has given itself away on a missed attack of opportunity. Not succeeding in its attack, the creatures body retreats back out of sight, above the entry way.
Everyone after Zeoll and Beltrin can restate their actions for Round 13.
The key is visibly entwined and covered by the root which holds it. This will easily take a couple of rounds to extract and no simple feat of just grabbing it.
Everything is the same except for movement from Zeoll and Beltrin.

OOC: I know that the concealment from the Invisibility spell on Beltrin is probably reduced due to falling dirt as mentioned earlier. Does he have any idea of how reduced it is (i.e. is he caked head to foot in mud, sprinkled lightly, etc.)? That'll probably have an influence on his next action, since he's a sitting duck in the centipede's threat range.
DM Buzz: Not just the falling dirt but the tracks in the soft soil doesn't help, so partial concealment. Beltrin can finish his movement and get away from that area, by going deeper into the cave.
Round 13/DM Buzz Wednesday November 2nd, 2011 7:53:18 PM
I will give you all tonight to finish your movement.
As of now this is what I see.

The group reacts in different ways, to the bugs sudden attack. Beltrin continues out of the range of the creature, while Bosk has a goal of retrieving the key. Zeoll watches having done what he could this round. Kyan moves into the room, looking for the creature, Azrael hot on his heels. Looking up, the creature is very easy to see, it's large form hanging on the side of the wall easily as it prepares to strike again. Beriothian and Restlin move up and into the entrance of the room, prepared to assist their comrades. Zane remains toward the rear, waiting for the creature to show it'self.

Beriothian realizes he can't do anything from outside the room and tumbles beneath the centipede toward Y23 so that he can take advantage of a flanking position next round. There is something about trying to tumble through the mud, in the dark, in an environment designed to slow you down, that simply isn't efficient. Still, this is about safety, not efficiency. Still, while the mud caked elf stands up he can't help but think that the centipede probably didn't even have another AoO this round that he could react with.

His perception failing him, Bosk hacks away at the root once again, doing little damage. He then discovers, piercing weapons have no effect on this large, thick fibrous plant. It's like chopping down a tree with a short sword. Thinking about the last battles, the group reappeared in the cell after they obtained the key. Will that happen again before the fight is over? Will they be joined by a very large creature already wanting to kill them? The cell wasn't that big to begin with, but three taurs and other mediums with it? Root at 30 hit points.
Zeoll moves forward a bit and inspires most of his his friends through singing, allowing them greater then normal prowess.
Zane makes a feeble tumble and that, perhaps was not what the centipede had expected. Zane can see, the monster missed him by a long shot, when he arrives at his position. Fumbled on AoO He can see, the room is full of roots like these, with the edges being the only clear space for large creatures to move through easily.
Beriothian goes through a lot of effort to avoid being bitten and watches as the monk is missed after his movement. He comes into position to look up into the face of gargantuan hunger.
Kyan has hands that move with great speed when changing weapons. He draws first blood on the beast while Azrael looks up and barks at the monster. His voice echoing through the tunnels and cavern.
Beltrin attempts to make ill, this beast. The noxious fumes would make normal creatures sputter, but the beast inside the gas, is now, just hidden from your sight, receiving the benefits of cover, at least until it leaves. Saves with a 26

It sees a large wood thing moving in the way of it's food, so it strikes. It's head slams up against the solid object causing no damage to shield or creature. No AoO during an AoO
Restlin, able to see it now, launches a spell from his magical wand and watches as it splatters, then sinks into the crevices of it's exoskeleton.
Zane takes a free shot and misses his opportunity when it moved. For some reason, he doesn't get his normal attack in and moves away from battle. he can't occupy the space the bard just filled, not in battle anyway, so he tumbles behind Restlin instead, provoking another attack of opportunity from the beast. It strikes him behind the thigh, ripping loose hamstring muscles. Please take 26 damage and Fort 22; frequency 1/round for 6 rounds
Beltrin decides to inhibit it's attacks with a spell that effects most of those unwise, but the blasted creature is very successful at staying alive. Far better then it is killing the party. Saved with Will DC 21
Kyan is a skilled archer, but without the Precise Shot feat, some heroes and villains use, firing into any melee has negative chances of hitting. However, his arrows provoke a critical threat that strikes the beast in it's forehead, clean and straight.
Beriothian doesn't move and the creature is not blind, so sneak attacks fail, not that they are needed. With swords plunged deep into the midsection of the long segmented monster, it gasps a final breath and falls lifeless to the soft cavern floor.
Bosk quickly cuts away the key and holds it firm in his hands, when soon, everyone is returned to the cage.
But wait! What is this? All the cells are again full! Where the Giant Tarantula once was (cell 6), there is now a Seven Headed Hydra. Where the troll once was (cell 5), stands a human in shiny armor. Exiting cell number three, the group finds that turning around, even that cell holds a new monster, a single but very large Nightmare.
The voice, again, laughs in approval. "Exzellent! Vonce again, ze team vorks vell together! Pleaze, continuze ze bloodzed! Chitz! I HAVE CHITZ FOR ZOU!"
A new hole in the floor opens. Inside is a green satin pillow with three red chits.
Attempting to talk to any of the new creatures gets no real results. The human appears to be angry or perhaps, in deep thought right now. The Hydra is tightly contained and seems almost ready to burst out of the cell. The Nightmare prances around it's steel stall, waiting for battle, but oblivious to the group.
Everyone gets to open AT LEAST one more cell while I am away this week. Please welcome Jonathan to the group. I will send him a starting email on how he got here. Have a great week and weekend.

Immediately Bosk places a hand upon the silver Eye of Gargul adorning his forehead and the other on Zane's back as he begins to pray to the Lord of Life and Death. Instantly he feels the healing energy emanate from his hand, but it is not enough to bring the Monk back. Thanks to the group's effort, Zane is saved a return trip to the land of rest.
As he checks to make sure his various parts are working Bosk looks up and is surprised to see that not only are all the cells full once again, but there is a human in one of them.
Restlin attempts to address the man, but there is no response. Perhaps there was a spell placed on the cell or more likely on the man inside.
The group takes a moment to discuss tactics. It would seem the only way to determine if the caged man is friend or foe would be to open the door and take a chance. Does the group leave the imprisoned man caged up like an animal while they rest and heal themselves, or do they risk another fierce battle in their weakened state.
Restlin (Carl) -- AC: 14/12/12 CMD: 15 HP:43/43 (Spells) - Wand charges: 41 Wednesday November 9th, 2011 6:56:18 PM
Confident that Zane is in good hands, Restlin turns back to the man in the cage.
"I'm not sure why you're in there, but I'm not in the business of abandoning people or leaving them to rot in extra-dimensional prisons. Can we trust you to behave if we let you out? Don't think that just because we have one taur taking a break over there that the rest of us aren't capable of making your end quick and brutal."
Restlin looks to his companions. "We can't leave him here, right? That wouldn't be very heroic of us. I'm going to open the door in a moment, so get ready in case he's got a death wish."
Beriothian (Will)-- AC:22/16/16 HP:57/57 CMD = 22 Wednesday November 9th, 2011 7:28:23 PM Why can't we leave him, but we can leave everyone else? Hmmm, he doesn't particularly seem aggressive. Still, perhaps it would be possible to take away his weapons before opening the cage. I suppose that would be against "Zhe Rulz" though... I wonder if we will ever find out what that first rule we broke was.

And that troll sure wasn't interested in reasoning.... let's try the human... heck, even if he wants to fight, he looks like about the least dangerous thing left. At least he won't turn me stone, even if he does hack me to bits. I say we let him out and try to convince him to join our cause, using charms if necessary. "The troll was a evil thing and deserved to die... the spider and the centipede were no more than over grown bugs. Amazing creatures, but creatures that would have no problem eating us. Out of all the creatures in here, the Medusa," he says, thrusting the wand towards the medusa's cage, "is the only thing left that I'm famililar enough with to say that the Wold would be a better place without it."
And he waves the wand towards the human, "This man may be Malaphaz himself for all we know, playing more of his games with us. If we choose him, we should wait and let him come to us. If he isn't looking for a fight, great. If he is, we'll be ready but I won't be the first to shed blood."

Alexi AC 25 Tch 12 Ffted 22 HP 66/66 CMD 22 Thursday November 10th, 2011 10:20:02 PM
Alexi wakes up from his stupper when he hears a POP. He must have been asleep, he quickly presumes, but he doesn't remember when, or where he had been when he did fall asleep. It must have been sleep since he remembers a vicious battle and remembers he was the only survivor. Since you don't die in your dreams, it must have been a dream.
He felt fully alive now and took a deep breath. He was in a cell. It looked familiar. Well, don't all cells look alike? He was alone. There was dried blood on him. His? He felt fine. No. Now he was remembering. He had friends he just met. They had been in the cell too. Several times. Ah, it was all coming back to him!
It dawned on him that the 'dream' was not a dream after all. Those blokes that died in battle were real. He remembered feeling angry for trying to do the right thing and not obeying the ring and getting punished for it. His group had paid an awful price but being true to one's self was worth it. Or was it?
He had survived not because he was 'purer'. He had survived because he was, humbly speaking, tougher. He hadn't doubted his new friends' abilities, but they proved rather inexperienced. His tough life in the Mailed Fist and grueling years out in the wilderness proved the better match for the 'test' than his new friends.
In this timeless place he had no idea how long he had been 'suspended', the powers that 'Be' waiting for the right moment. But now he was awake. He surveyed the scene with a keen eye and noticed the difference immediately.
The cells had changed. His memory now returned, he knew the creatures were different. But more importantly, a new group of suckers were in the prison with him.
Alexi watched from his slumbered position, eyes closed to only slits, as the group gathers themselves. One crumpled before his eyes. One approached the bars to his cell. "Excuse me, sir, but this cage is clearly zoned for monsters. I'm afraid you'll have to move along."
Alexi waits a moment. Is this some trick of the Ring again? If he pleads to get out, they could take him to be an illusion of someone like them. If he doesn't, they could take him to be a monster as well?
A long discourse of the moral obligations in opening the cell or not goes on for a moment. Alexi tries not to laugh. It sounded like some city council debate with even opposing sides.
The human with his hair in a topknot approaches again. "Don't think that just because we have one taur taking a break over there that the rest of us aren't capable of making your end quick and brutal."
A bluff, no doubt. But that they've made it this far is saying something to their skill, or luck.
The healthier minotaur comes to the bars. He's never dealt with minotaurs before but seen them in Floating City. But finally the debate is over and the minotaur opens the cell door.
"Excuse me. Sir. Do you need any help?"
Alexi opens his eyes, finally and the the fighter bursts out laughing, but not the evil kind of laugh, but a laugh of one that is tired and under stress.
"Well, since these doors can only be opened from the outside, and I'm inside, it would not tax anyone's mental prowess to see I could use some help."
Alexi stands from his slumped position on the bench. His full plate armor glinting in the flickering light. His longsword at one side, axe on the other. A flail dangling here, a dagger there.
"Welcome to the Endless Arena of Doom," he says to the group. "I hope you are as tough as I am. That you have gotten this far is a good sign," he smiles. "You look a bit buggered up. Which monster did you just dispatch? The Crumple-Horned Snorkack?"

The Horned Cleric takes a step back to let the Alexi out of his cell. Instantly he notices the man is armed about as well as he is. He does his best to keep a nonagressive stance, but he tenses slightly when Alexi says he hopes the group is as tough as he is. Fortunately the minotaur has the advantage of reach and weapons that are constantly at the ready without needing to be drawn. It only takes a second for the taur to realize that the comment was not meant as a challenge (hopefully) and he is glad he didn't take any rash actions. I suppose If we let you out will you promise not to attempt to kill us would have been more along the lines I was thinking, but it didn't seem the best way to begin introductions. My name is Bosk, son of Cenios, and we are the Iron Adventurer's of Hook City. What is your story, and what can you tell us about about this Endless Arena of Doom?

I don't know what this crumpet-thing is you are talking about, but we just finished off a huge centipede, and also a spider, a two headed troll, and countless zombies for breaking some arbitrary and unexplained rule. I don't like how you described this place as endless, what exactly is the final challenge?"

"Bosk. A good, short name. I hate it when I have to spend a whole minute in battle just to call out to a comrade. HA!" Alexi then proceeds to answer questions in order they came at him.
"An official adventuring group eh? I've only heard about Hook City. Most of my wanderings were in the more civilized spheres." Alexi shows them his shield. It's emblem quite recognizable to most except for those in the farthest reaches of civilization. An upheld, clenched, gauntleted fist. Above that is a wolf's head and two horizontal bars.
"My story is long, but the last part is when I met up with and joined a group, not too unlike yours. By magical means, a ring one of them had conived us into this... what I've termed Endless Arena of Doom, for that's what it has been."
Alexi looks around as if looking for somebody. "I'm the only one left of that group." Alexi puts his hand to chin and ponders out loud. "I bet you are looking for keys. You fight a monster and get a key. How many keys have you gotten yet? We ended up with three before... well, they are gone now."
"Am I a Friend or Foe? Well, I am a friend if you are trying to get out of this mess. I can help you there. My previous group wanted this for gain, I hope your intentions are more noble. I think the ring can tell, and entices you. A noble cause is harder to corrupt."

It seems that none of us would survive long without the others there to back each other up. I thank you for the healing, I had hoped to avoid needing it, but my hopes were not heard by those who oversee the dolling out of everyone's share of that elusive object that as much rules our lives as much as our own knowledge." Zane rolls up onto his shoulders, pulling his knees to his chest, then with an abrupt straightening of his legs and a push with his hands, winds up standing where he once was laying. With a slight wobble he catches his balance. We've had combat with a troll, a big spider and a very large centipede, so it seems we've made it as far as your past group did. And yes, we are after keys." Zane uses prestidigitation to clean any slime or dirt, as well as a large amount of blood from his garments and body. When he finishes, he once again pulls his hood up and tucks his hands into the sleeve of the opposite arm, once more becoming or at least looking like his old self.

END MODULE/DM Buzz Monday November 14th, 2011 9:42:06 AM
The group, in some very obscure and omnipotent manner has managed to free the human from his cell without summoning it.
Then, as they enter the courtyard, they find Alexi and free him...again... The gold key takes 14 hours to find, hidden of course, in a nearby haystack. It is very small compared to all the rest, but just as ornate.
Once back in the arena, the voice comes over the area. "Vhat is zis? Vou are not happy viz deez gamez? Bah, then begone and let the ring vind a group vorthy of exzitement and adventure. In zhee name of Vardd, I bid vou, BEGONE!"
In a flash of light and booming thunder, the group finds themselves back in their Hook City home.

Alexi is caught by surprise at the sudden change of scenery but quickly recovers and belts out a good hearty laugh. "Well, in staying true to the Ring's whims, what else were we expecting, eh? I suppose that if all monsters in the cells were as smart as I, and had agreed to amicable terms before the cell door was opened, you'd have quite an assembly here. Too bad no one speaks troll, spider, or centipede."

OOC: assume my post came before the DM's and it will make more sense. : }
When the Iron Adenturers don't attack him, Alexi senses something different in the air. The change in scenery didn't seem to change their attitudes towards each other, at least he didn't feel any desire to attack those across the arena.
He did feel weak. A gnawing at his stomach began to grow as if he'd been wearing a Ring of Sustenance for months and suddenly taken it off and his body now craved food as never before. HIs hands were shakey. Removing his backpack, he calls forth a strip of jerky and takes a chunk to chew. He concludes that the magic of the cells holds it's occupant in suspended animation until the door opens.
"No wonder the creatures want to attack, they are starving and see whoever's on the other side as food. Good thing you guys aren't a party of bugbears, eh?"
Back in Hook City Alexi sits down and starts laughing real hard. Finally, between tears, he says, "Ze wring, hez not happi ze broke ze spell! It wuld zeem zthat ze wring wuz too zmart for it'z pantz, eh?"
Recovering his composure, Alexi deduces, "Perhaps the final challanges is always the one you don't have to fight. It could take all the cells, or even more. If you survive long enough, eventually you'll find someone or something in which to bargain with before you open a cell, thus insuring that when you do open it, you won't have to fight and that breaks the spell. Eh, who knows."
"Now, where's my horse."

Beri smiles at Alexi's comment about not speaking troll or centipede. You would be surprised to see the breadth of this groups linguistic skills. We tried talking to the troll, as well as several others. They seemed to prefer fighting us to joining forces.

"I wonder if all Hook City elites were as snooty and drama prone back then," Restlin mutters as he appears outside again.
He looks the new-comer up and down a few times. "He doesn't look rich. Nice armor, I guess, but I doubt he'd part with it. Oh well." He steps forward and offers his hand. "Restlin at your service! Well, not at your service really. I mean I'm not here to wait on you. Kind of a daft saying now that I think about it."
Restlin mutters to himself as he ponders the wisdom of such colloquialisms, handshake unfulfilled as he walks away.
"ANYWAY!" he announces with an over-dramatic turn, "We appear to be free from the ring with a hand-full of chits for our trouble. I say we get cleaned up..." he pauses here to prestidigitize himself clean, "heal up, and take Alexi here out for drinks."
Restlin will look for, and claim, the ring if it's still around. He did steal it fair and square, after all.

Garden Party/DM Buzz Tuesday November 15th, 2011 1:14:48 PM
The party once again, find themselves on the top of their tower, where the group has their roof top garden. Many people wonder what happened, that would have their host kick out such wonderful guests?
Upon first meeting the new arrival, Bosk is tense, but soon after a conversation, he is more at ease with the warrior.
Perhaps, it was the rescue and addition of Alexi that threw Maliphaz, into a fit? In any case, there are no horse or horse like creatures on the roof top with them
Could it be, that it was Kyan, calling him a "maniac" or perhaps, thinking the new comer was Maliphaz himself, that might be insulting? Azrael seems very happy to be home on the other hand and starts rubbing up against legs to show his approval. Growls and purrs obvious.
Zeoll is a bit put out by the sudden shift of scenery! He was looking forward to getting more wealth. Perhaps the excitement of battle spurred his valor? Regardless, whatever upset Maliphaz, was enough of a deal breaker that the entire party was dismissed. If some in the group though, felt they were more trapped, than entertained, it could be, Maliphaz isn't the brutal tyrant some thought or expected?
Beriothian can confirm, the party has plenty of linguistic skills.
Restlin tries very hard to determine how long the newcomer was in the ring. He can come up with a pretty good guess, before he thinks to ask the metal clad human, what was the last date he remembers, being outside of the ring. A little less then a year ago. He can not find the ring anywhere.
Beltrin believes, once snooty, always snooty and you pass it on like your DNA. He makes a small joke, involving the monster the group most feared.
Zane is still effected by the poison. Clearly, it came with the group, just as the newcomer did.
The sounds of talking and wood creaking, coming from the front yard of the haunted residence, give The Iron Adventurers pause, to look over and down. They see workers, six of them, unloading crates, both small and huge, from off of wagons and carts. There seems to be a human below with a clip board and attached papers, directing five dwarves. Five very strong looking dwarves. The front yard is almost full and two wagons have yet to be off loaded.

Ah, the lives of adventurrerrs are forreverr full of ... of ... " Zeoll's inspiration for flowery language fails him for a moment, and he concludes, slightly abashed, "... full of flavorr and fancy? Meh, that'll do." He heads downstairs to see what is going on, hoping not to be possessed on the way.
Will save to resist possession, if needed: 28, or 30 with heroism if it is still running. Not too shabby.
If he makes it out of the tower, the liontaur smiles as he confronts the dwarves and human at the door. "What ho, my good fellows?" Zeoll calls. "Prray, tell me what carrgo it is that you arre offloading herre, and why you have chosen to deliverr yourr burrdens to the towerr of the Irron Adventurrerrs?"

Beltrin hurries to follow the liontaur downstairs to investigate the delivery. Hopefully he avoids the ghostly children (Will save 12 if necessary). If he makes it outside, it becomes obvious that Zeoll's silver tongue is working its magic, so he starts examining the boxes, and if possible takes a look inside one of them.
Beriothian (Will)-- AC:22/16/16 HP:57/57 CMD = 22 Tuesday November 15th, 2011 8:25:56 PM
Beriothian looks at the boxes quizzically. Some how I don't think those boxes contain the chits we earned. Hopefully they also don't contain the monsters we still had left to fight. Beri knows the odds of a magical being sending them anything through the mail service is pretty slin.

Like Beltrin and Beri he lets Zeoll's silver no-doubt-fur-covered tongue work its magic on the delivery men and moves about to examine the boxes, giving Beri a grin at his comment. "Any of them labelled Medusa? Or maybe it's a return box for Alexi?"

That seems to have been the driving force. When talking to me before releasing me, I felt nothing. But as soon as I was released and appeared in the arena, I was so hungry I could have tried to eat anything. Free stuff?/DM Buzz Wednesday November 16th, 2011 9:56:31 AM
Looking out over the top of the tower, the majestical view of Hook City is breathtaking. The first thing those that are city dwellers notice is, the lack of a smell. Not just smells, like an apple pie in the window or a lovely lass wearing expensive perfumes, but there are no unpleasant smells of horse droppings or sweat. The absence of smells is what first draws those new to Hook City, to the present.
The view is gorgeous. Every house, shop or even shed, is in the finest of quality and very well decorated and cared for. Designs and murals adorn shops and windows. There is not a drab building, seen anywhere in the city.
Along the horizon, the city walls surround even bigger, more beautiful buildings, seen off in the distance. It is clear, to the east, is where the "rich" people live.
On the way, the little girls are not seen or heard from. Perhaps a good thing, since the newcomer has yet to be warned about the previous occupants?
Downstairs and outside, the human looks up and smiles at you all. "Ah, greetings. We knocked on the doors a few hours ago, but no one answered. Tamur here. Tamur Hodson of the Transportation Guild. So this is the residence of the Iron Adventurers? Excellent! Please sign here for your shipments received. The installers should be here tomorrow for you, so you don't have to get your hands dirty. Who's the signatory of your corporation?"
The dwarves seem to have an easy time of ignoring the group as they begin the process of emptying the last of the wagons.
A couple of the crates are opened and inside, you see beautiful furniture. Tables and lamps with ever burning flames inside for ambiance. Beautiful, soft chairs and couches, resplendent with ornate decorations. A beautiful, solid steel cutlery and cooking set. Pots and pans of every size, shape and pattern imaginable. Hand hammered by the most skilled of metal smiths.
After the paperwork is signed, Tamur elaborates. "It seems you folks have a secret admirer. Very hush, hush on who ordered all of this for you. Rumor has it, Hook Citys top decorator will be here tomorrow to help you folks get settled into your new place. I don't spread rumors though. That just wouldn't be proper."
As soon as everyone is finished, The iron Adventurers with their paperwork and the Transportation Guild finished transporting, the day belongs to the group.

As his eyes fall on the furniture, his heart skips a beat. When he hears that not only is it for them, but it will be professionally installed and arranged, he loses all feeling in his feet and hands. When he hears he won't have to get dirty, he darn near faints.
For once in a very long time, Restlin is completely lost for words. He is content to look on and be fulfilled at their new-found fortune.

Zeoll thanks the gentleman and helps direct the movers. He is amazed by the wealth of the fixtures and accoutrements. "How is this possible?" he wonders. It just seems so incredible.
The liontaur explains to Alexi and Zane (the two newest members?) that the tower is haunted by the spirits of two little girls, who can be mischevious. If you ignore them they can get downright mean. Once, after a long time in isolation, they possessed Zeoll and a fellow named Valla and made us play tea party for a couple days. But if you are nice to them, they mostly are just playful. Do not be surprised if things move around or are not where you thought they were, though.
Bosk AC: 19/11/17 (AC is at -1) CMD:20 HP 58 of 61 Spells Wednesday November 16th, 2011 8:51:59 PM
As the group watched the transporters furnish their tower Bosk's brow furrows slightly. He was not used to getting things for free and immediately suspected that the group's "secret admirer" would soon be requesting a favor. Suddenly a worker walks past him carrying items that cause his eyes grow wide and as the man walks towards his favorite room...the kitchen. Pots, pans, dishes, all waiting to be used.
I can sign for that. Bosk replies. Being the last remaining member of the original group of "Mudders" from Mud Town whose protection for hire business evolved into the Iron Adventurer's he still thinks of many of the others as "new guys". Still, everyone other than Alexi had proven themselves and stood by him in battle with the taur, and that was the deciding factor in gaining his trust. It is hard to imagine how much has changed over the past two months, going to scrapping in Mud Town to owning a tower in Hook City. Still watching as the tower gets furnished, the cleric introduces himself to the man in charge. The name is Bosk DeOx, also known as the Horned Cleric. Just show me where to sign.
As the group begins to talk Bosk realizes that Zane has never been to the tower. Zane, there is another taur sized room next to mine, if you are interested in taking up residence here. There is room for you too Alexi, if you need a place to stay for a bit. If your as good a fighter as you say, you might even be interested in joining us on a trial basis to see how things go. (Hook City does require a registration fee of 1,500 gp must be paid to the city to join the group. Beri, Zeoll, and Beltrin still need repay Bosk the cost of the registration fee.)
Once the group has finished their daily tasks Bosk will grab the poison sac and a gallon of ale and then head over to see Twice and try to follow up on a connection where he can purchase some illicit goods (poison).
ooc: I am assuming our group would know who the signatory for the corporation is. Also, were we able to collect the chits before being kicked out of the ring?
I plan to finish making a map of the tower over Christmas Break once finals are over, let me know if you want anything special in your room.
Alexi AC 25 Tch 12 Ffted 22 HP 66/66 CMD 22 Wednesday November 16th, 2011 10:44:52 PM
Alexi marvels at the tower and the sudden luck the group has and agrees that nothing comes for free.
Having spent the last two or three years (that he can remember, at least) in crude barracks or out in the open plains, the prospect of having a room and nice bed is too tempting to pass up. "How about stables? I'll need a place for my horse."
When informed of the cost to join the group, Alexi pours out half a dozen gold pieces into his palm. "I guess I get to wash dishes for a while," he says smilling sheepishly. "My last emplyment wasn't very profitable, as you can see. But I'm good for my word t pay you back if you'll have me."
As he gets to know his new friends, Alexi explains that he started out his adventuring career in the Mailed Fist. He went from footsoldier to cavalryman pretty quick due to his riding background. His father and grandfather were also in the Mailed Fist. He explains his shield emblems, the Mailed Fist emblem, the Wolf Cavalry Regiment and that he achieved the rank of sergeant before his tour of duty ended and he struck out on his own.
OOC: DM, is Alexi going to have to go hunting for his horse, Lobo, or is it going to be out front waiting for him?

He orients himself in the rooms center, facing the door, and proceeds to sit lotus position and lets his chin touch his chest. To any who enter into the room, or look through a slightly opened door, they only see a robed and hooded figure with a pair of horns sticking out of the hoods sides via the specially made slits and slight weight at the bottom of the front sides of the hood. He is in fact sound asleep, and getting some much needed rest.
A nights rest/DM Buzz d8=8 ; Thursday November 17th, 2011 11:16:43 AM
The Iron Adventurers are slightly taken aback by the wealth and fortune that has been placed at their doorstep.
Kyan searches the boxes to make sure, they are full of goods and not monsters. Azrael attempts to mark a few of them as his own.
Restlin goes numb at the thought of someone doing his dirty work, in a good way.
Alexi is clearly troubled by the minotuar monks predictament. He wonders about the poison and others can tell him, he needs serious help or a lot of time, to get better. Or a few really good heal skill checks. If only you knew someone that liked you all, that is good with healing and poisons and things like that... Soon, he starts to handle.....money... That disgusting, filthy stuff the lesser classes in other cities use to purchase items and services. As far as a Hook City resident is concerned, soft metal is only used in jewelry or in expensive dishes.
Zeoll enjoys the new furnishings and informs the two newest members, that the tower where they will be living, is haunted by two little girls, killed in an accident or so it is suspected.
Bosk can clearly see, the transportation guild do not enter the house. They are not qualified to install, even pots and pans, but the group can drag anything inside they want to, if they have the inclination to do so. He quickly signs the forms without hesitation and starts rummaging through a few things, thinking about what is for dinner. Bosk remembers that Twice is a rogue, but perhaps, there is someone else he knows, far more qualified, to do the work he needs done?
Beltrin is alright with owing someone for all this stuff, but perhaps him and others have forgotten, they have already done quite a bit for a few people in this city. It could be, a late payment, in some eyes. He believes, the monk just needs some rest.
Beriothian is content, to rough it one more evening, before he rests in luxuriousness, like the rich and famous of Hook City should.
Zane, confirms, the poison still ravages his body. He takes up, which would normally be an awkward sleeping position, in the room that was offered to him. He is not a private person and keeps the door ajar, so that he might hear others in the tower.
(Rolled randomly for encounter, #8)
Later that night, Zane sees in his room, two little human girls standing in front of him. They play 120 questions with him and in his current state, he can't really tell, if he is delirious from the poisons or if these are the ghosts they were warned about earlier. Either way, at some point, they fade away, leaving Zane wondering what it was he really saw.
If there is anything, anyone else wants to do that night, before the morning, please post it today or we can move along to the decorator encounter.

Zane does not have his Strength effected, it is his Dexterity. Please make a note of it. This is how it heals naturally, for future reference.
For every 2 points of damage you take to a single ability, apply a --1 penalty to skills and statistics listed with the relevant ability. If the amount of ability damage you have taken equals or exceeds your ability score, you immediately fall unconscious until the damage is less than your ability score. The only exception to this is your Constitution score. If the damage to your Constitution is equal to or greater than your Constitution score, you die. Unless otherwise noted, damage to your ability scores is healed at the rate of 1 per day to each ability score that has been damaged. Ability damage can be healed through the use of spells, such as lesser restoration.

Alexi isn't particularly tired, having been suspended for who knows how long. He feels edgy and needing to stretch his muscles so he starts moving things into the tower. He moves those boxes and things that one person can move unless another offers to help.
After doing the best he can, he finally retires to his room. Removing his armor and putting on some spare clothes from his backpack, he lays there in bed wondering how he is to find his horse. If he'd known what was going to happen when the idiot talked to the ring, he could have mounted Lobo and thus both would have been transported. But as it turned out, since he didn't return to his starting point, returning to the Iron Adventurers' starting point instead, His horse...
'Shoot, that was so long ago who knows where Lobo could be by now. I sure hope he's all right. He has my Mailed Fist saddle blanket so maybe someone returned him to the nearest battalion for a finder's fee. Looks like I'll be needing to send out some letters.

Beltrin sleeps soundly, dreaming of what he might do with the new-found wealth. He rises early, stretches out the kinks and soreness that are inevitable when one gets battered around by skeletons, trolls and various giant insects. His head cleared, he studies his spellbooks and eats a leisurely breakfast.
So much to do back in the city! But I guess that I'll wait around for this master decorator to show up, it might be amusing. In the meantime, he unpacks a few of the crates and looks for some furniture that might fit his simple tastes.
Beriothian (Will)-- AC:22/16/16 HP:57/57 CMD = 22 Thursday November 17th, 2011 11:11:31 PM
Beriothian retires to his room, making a mental checklist of the days events. How could the rogue have overlooked the fact that their group has no way to cure poison? More than once the elf has watched members of the group gather poisons objects, Beri himself had poisoned himself numerous times on a particularly fetish trap on a door lock. When morning comes he will need to remember to discuss restocking the group-loot with a few life saving necessities.

After thinking back on Twice reputation, Bosk decides a better course of action is to seek out Heather Bodrey, a peculiar healer in Mud Town who might be sympathetic to his cause. While he is there he will see if she may have a cure for Zane that will speed along his recovery.
Restlin (Carl) -- AC: 14/12/12 CMD: 15 HP:43/43 (Spells) - Wand charges: 41 Friday November 18th, 2011 6:08:23 AM
Obviously, Restlin underestimated the poison's affect on Zane. He doesn't beat himself up too badly about this seeing as he's no healer and was obviously stunned by their new found fortune.
It's no night for drinking, though. The Iron Adventurers have stuff to do!
Seeing Bosk head out to find someone else to heal Zane, he realizes that this is something they should be able to do for themselves. He wracks his brain to think of some way his talents with magical scrolls and wands can be useful in creating the goodies they need, but darned if he can figure out how to make wands for spells he can't possibly cast (OOC: thought I could make a wand of CSW, but the Pathfinder rules state I can only create them for spells I know). Looks like the group will have to pay retail. He'll seek out Zeoll to find out how many chits they earned fighting in the ring.
Seeing how well taken care of they are at the moment, a good chunk of their loot should probably go towards keeping everyone alive.
"Tomorrow, " he decides before he finally hits the sack and sleeps, "I should start putting together some scrolls for us."
The morning after/DM Buzz Friday November 18th, 2011 11:25:45 AM
The group gathers in the tower and calls it an early night as the recent events have taken a toll on all, in different manners.
In the morning, a very flamboyant middle aged man comes by. He introduces himself Vani Whimpledinkle. He has three younger men with him that act very subservient to this master decorator.
Upon walking into the tower, the first thing he notices is a crack in the floor, he tells one of his men to make a note to have that fixed. "Nooowww darrrrlingssss , tell me a bit about each of you so that I can bring your character out in this....this.....semi adequate dwelling." His hands and body moves in large swooping patterns.
Once the preliminary meeting with the decorator is done, the group goes about other business. Some want to go to Mudtown. Others want to gather magical aids for future needs. Perhaps a few mundane torches wouldn't take up to much space either?
(ooc: Vani is a high level Elemental Specialist. He can help make rooms bigger or smaller, with magical additions if you desire, within the reason of physics of course. Supporting walls are still a necessity.)
Restlin (Carl) -- AC: 14/12/12 CMD: 15 HP:43/43 (Spells) - Wand charges: 41 Friday November 18th, 2011 6:08:08 PM
"Well," Restlin starts, "this semi adequate dwelling is haunted by two little girls who knocked him <points to Bosk> clean out. Just a word of warning. You may want to watch what you say.
"Not that I'm disagreeing with you, far from it! Anyway, enough about the tower. Let's talk about me. You see, Master Whimpledinkle, I'm in a jam. I'm a wizard of some fair ability without a place to scribe my scrolls, brew my potions, and do all the other sundry tasks that occupy my time. I don't even have a proper stand for my spellbook. I have faith you can remedy this situation. Now, I have a feeling my fine companions here, and they are fine companions Master Whimpledinkle, but I have a feeling they will talk about their desire for simple surroundings. The liontaur there <points to Zeoll> may want something organic, for example. That is all fine, of course; some people enjoy the simpler things in life. Master Whimpledinkle, I am not one of those people.
"You seem to know your thing, Master Whimpledinkle, so I will trust you with this basic requirement: I want luxury. I want to to push the line between elegant and gaudy, but...and this is important...I don't want to cross that line."
Furnishing seen to, he turns his attention to Zeoll. He's pretty sure Zeoll was holding their chits from the ring. It seems like something Zeoll would do. "We should all have a share of the booty, I'm sure, but setting aside a group fund for items to make sure we don't lose a member to poison and whatnot would also be a worthwhile investment, don't you think? I'm thinking a few potions to cure poison and disease should be purchased before splitting the remainder up. How much was our total haul, anyway?"
Zeoll (HP35 of 35, AC22, CMD17) d20+5=18 ; Friday November 18th, 2011 6:13:04 PM
Zeoll explains some of his long history to the designer, eager as always to learn and share information. He mentions his early life in the wild part of Liontaur Isle, sleeping under the stars, hunting small game. Then his time with a band of liontaurs, centaurs, and minotaurs, trying to bring peace to a troubled part of the Wold. Three years spent dead in the Lands of Rest. A return to life, and quests won and lost. Then a period of quiet wandering. And finally a new home in Hook City.
The liontaur does his best to speak knowledgeably with the designer about the internal structures and parts of the tower. Bard-Trained Knowledge Engineering 18.
Zeoll adds to what Restlin is saying. "I sleep out of doorrs, in the rrooftop garrden, and all I might need is a simple awning to keep the rrain off. Howeverr, I would like a small rroom forr two young girrls, with toys and nice beds and a place to play. They may be dead, but that does not mean they should not have a rroom of theirr own."
OOC: I remain personally confused about loot and treasure. Could someone go back through the module and figure it out? Or I can, but it'll be next week.

Beriothian (Will)-- AC:22/16/16 HP:57/57 CMD = 22 Friday November 18th, 2011 7:10:34 PM
ooc: As you wish, here is the treasure count (I added the totals in white chits at the end. A red is worth 5 white, an orange is worth 3 red):
Zombie fight: Coffin #1: 5 white chits Coffin #2: 1 red chit (5 white) Coffin #3: 1 orange chit (15 white) Coffin #4: 5 white chits
First two fights: The hole on the left holds a solid gold urn with no lid upon it. Inside the urn is many White Chits (fifteen total) and two Red Chits. (25 white) The hole on the right has a blue satin pillow with 1 Orange Chit and two Red Chits, resting easily upon it. (25 white)
Extra Centipede Fight: A new hole in the floor opens. Inside is a green satin pillow with three red chits. (15 white)
I believe that is 95 white chits, worth a total of 9,500 gold.

Zane, waking up in the morning and still feeling clumsy as all get out, heads down stairs with the rest of the group, as the gaudy person starts asking what each is looking for. He'll wait, until the others have gone and then speaks up. "Contrary to popular belief, I also enjoy the finer things in life, just what I consider as things is far different from some others is all. I'm interested in a comfortable bed. A couple lanterns that can be shuttered as to block the light, as well as a small bookcase. A nice mat on the flood so as to absorb somewhat any falls that should be taken. I also would love swing rings or posts of varying height to keep up my practice of acrobatics and such. For once, I agree with Restlin, we need to invest in some magic to keep ourselves upright. I know that I've sucked more life out of Kyan's wand than I deserve."
Beltrin greets the designer with one raised eyebrow Well, not the sort of man I'd normally consort with, but best to be cordial, no sense in making him angry."Well-met sir, my room could certainly use some improvement. I prefer simple things, although of the highest quality. I need a well-lit space to continue my magical research, both in books and with my tools. And of course, a comfortable bed and a chair for reading would be most appreciated." As he starts to turn away, he pauses as if thinking twice "Oh, and who did you say we have to thank for your services?"
OOC: Thanks for putting that list together Will. I think that we should get another wand of CLW (and Kyan shouldn't need to chip in for it, I know that Beltrin and Zane used up quite a few charges). And either a wand or a few scrolls of lesser restoration.
Kyan(Jon) AC:19/13/16 HP: 57/57 CMD: 23 || Azrael 17 HP, AC: 20/17/13 CMD: 19 Friday November 18th, 2011 10:37:33 PM

The carpentry tools, saw horses and a layer of saw dust can be seen behind him as well as the makings of various pieces of plain, though sturdy pieces of furniture. "I'm good. Maybe could use a lamp."
OOC: Of course the party rogue had the list of wealth. He probably has a list of ALL the characters wealth sorted by easiest to grab by value. I'm all for loot going towards party items before being split up. Another wand, some scrolls, etc.

Alexi AC 25 Tch 12 Ffted 22 HP 66/66 CMD 22 Friday November 18th, 2011 11:05:27 PM
Alexi watches the goings-on and is a bit perplexed at seeing them count something called 'chits'. The group seems to think what they have is a lot. A lot of what? Alexi scratches his head.
"Yesterday you guys mentioned a cost to become a citizen and move about this city legaly. How much is that in those chit thingies? I could seek some temporary employment to help pay it back."
Alexi explains to the decorator, "I like the open spaces, the grasslands and such. Besides a comfortable bed and a writing desk, I'd like some paintings of the countryside to hang on the walls. A mapcase to store maps would do nicely too. A modest wardrobe should top it off. Now, if it also within your jurisdiction, a small stables somewhere on ground level would be a good thing too."
Bosk AC: 20/11/18 CMD:20 HP 61 of 61 Spells Saturday November 19th, 2011 12:21:10 AM Ah yes, Chits...they are the monetary system of Hook CIty. I'm afraid if you want to earn some Chits you'll have to stay with us for a while. It is pretty much impossible to make money in the city with out getting licensed and going through mountains of paperwork first. The chit is a magical currency only used within the city, and each colored chit is the equivalent to a specific level spell. In fact, you can choose chits of a certain spell and use the chit to cast the spell, in essence using your money up. That said, it is an expensive way to cast a spell.
Upon entering the city you are typically accessed by interrogators. As for as wealth goes, the interrogators only measure your financial wealth, not your personal wealth, so if you are bringing objects into the city for sell, they will be appraised. In other words, don't try to sell your gear unless you do it in the Catacombs, unless you declare the items for sell when you enter.
No one may leave the city with Chits. All money made or earned while in the city must be converted back into a precious metal standard of coin. If anyone came into the city with one thousand gold pieces and they convert five hundred of that into Chits. The remaining five hundred gold is all but worthless unless it is getting smelted down into jewelry. If they earned ten White Chits when they are done with their selling, those White Chits must be converted back to gold or whatever at the current exchange rate of the city, when they leave. Those ten White Chits may not leave the city proper. (Any other questions on this, please do not hesitate to ask. I want us all to be sure we understand how this works.)
Exchange rates are based daily (Game day, not our time)
1%-10%, there is a 10% decrease in the value of gold. 11%-40% there is a 5% decrease in the value of gold. 41%-60% the exchange is even. 61%-90% there is a 5% increase in the value of gold. 91%-100% there is a 10% increase to the value of gold.
Characters will not know the exchange rate until they attempt to enter or leave. (That is when the DM will roll the percentage.) I cannot tell you how long it took us to get used to the currency here, and we are still adapting to the mounds of paperwork. I am personally thinking about hiring someone to do all my paperwork for me.
Beriothian (Will)-- AC:22/16/16 HP:57/57 CMD = 22 Saturday November 19th, 2011 12:29:18 AM
As the early rays of dawn find there way into the tower window the party rogue begrudgingly emerges from the warmth of his sparsely furnished bedroom. Things have a way of changing rapidly in Hook City, a stark difference from his Elven homeland. Back home little changes from decade to decade, yet here even your closest companions seem to change on an almost daily basis. Of course, it was his monotonous life as an elf and a desire to experience such changes that drove the elf to leave his village in the first place.
The elf slowly makes his way down the stairs and heads into the kitchen. As he prepares his first pot of coffee he catches a glimpse of the two spectral girls running around the corner. He wonders briefly whether they are excited about finally getting their home furnished after years of the place being abandoned. As the rest of the party starts to make their way down for breakfast talk turns to purchasing antidotes and healing wands.
I thought about that last night as well. We definitely need a way of curing poison, we would have been at a huge loss if Zane had been incapacitated, or worse. And a wand has proven invaluable when healing, I would hate to run out of charges when we need it most. I know of a few specific things I need to pick up in the near future as well in order to do my job better. Are there any other items we think would be wise to purchase as a group?
As Beri finishes his coffee he sees a flamboyant man enter the kitchen and start talking about increasing the ambiance of the room, and the rogue immediately guesses that this must be the decorator. After a few moments Beri starts to answer the man's questions.
A little about myself? Hmm... well, I suppose more than anything I resemble what the humans refer to as a renaissance man. As an elf I've had the time to learn a lot of skills, and I see my versatility is one of my greatest strengths. I am a man of finesse and precision, though at the young age of 100 I still occasionally let my excitement get the best of me. Despite looking the part of a rogue, I am still an elf and miss having a bed built for someone of my tall stature and covered with the fabrics of my homeland. As for my style, I like dark woods and leather furniture, and will need a few book cases. Probably also a table to work on my hobbies in the back.
The rogue leans in a little closer to the decorator and whispers. And just between you, me, and Wardd, can you add one of those bars hidden inside an old giant globe of the Wold?
ooc: If you are planning on swapping Kyan out then Beri really will need to create a list of your inventory sorted by easiest items to pilfer >.>

Bosk takes a while to think about the layout for his room. I would appreciate anything you could do to make my room a bit larger. I spend much time in prayer and in constructing magical and achemical items, these areas would be best on the outside of room along with a huge bed. As you can see, I have a wide selection of large weapons and armor that I must be able to store. Space and storage are essential to me... Do you mind if we speak a little more privately for a minute?
Once the group is out of hearing range he asks Vani, the high level Elemental Specialist, about his abilities and confidentiality. Among the special features he asks for is a few secrete compartments that open into some sort of non dimensional space that only the cleric can access, preferably where any magical abilities are temporarily suspended. Although he doesn't reveal the reason, at least one of them would be to hide the teleporter the group has hidden, buried deep beneath the ground under their shop in Mud Town, that can take them to the Temple of the Illithad where a great evil still remains. With just a though it caused the Iron Adventurer's to commit the darkest of deeds against two children. Someday that creature will pay, but until that time they do not want the teleporter used. Fortunately, it is believed the creature is unable to get access to the teleporter within its temple. Another might be a wise place to store Malphaz ring.

Assistant DM James Tuesday November 22nd, 2011 12:49:43 AM
Bosk rummages through his bag a bit before pulling out the Hook City Documentation they had received. [b]When we formed the Iron Adventurer's we were giving the option of having a President and Vice-president for the corporation or a board of equal members with a Chairman. If we chose to have a President and Vice President the cost would have been one Green Chit, but we consider all in our group to be equal and opted for having a board instead. Besides, being an adventurer can be dangerous and the cost to switch the President or Vice President was very high. To form a committee the cost is one Orange Chit per person documented on that board, just as it is to add a member to the board.
I know it is expensive, but the problem is you cannot work without a licences and registration. You even need proper documentation and paperwork just to enter the city to look for work. Our group experienced that nightmare first hand. We only got inside after saving a village and having someone transferring us their writ of passage as a reward. As for work, we have only been here a short time, but we got lucky and have made quite a name for ourselves by saving the city from a zombie attack. That is supposedly why someone unknown benefactor is renovating our tower and delivered all the furnishings. I may be suspicious by nature, but rarely have I encountered someone with such wealth and generosity. I have a feeling that this is more of a down payment than a gift. If not, we also have a standing offer of payment if we can track down a troubadour and bring them back to the city.
Beriothian (Will)-- AC:22/16/16 HP:57/57 CMD = 22 Tuesday November 22nd, 2011 1:41:41 AM
Beriothian ponders for a moment whether Bosk is right about this being a way to curry favor with the IA before offering them a job. He had been assuming that this was most likely a gift from Dustin, the last descendant from a city founder whom the group had petitioned Gargul to let return from the dead. This extremely wealthy man had no offspring and had only come back to be with a certain young woman. While there are certainly others out there who might be this generous after saving the city, Dustin still feels like the most likely source of such gifts.
