With a swift cut to Bohamm, Snafu basically ends the battle. The fight goes on, but those that remain are killed easily by Arrow, Sword or magic. Wrapping up the fighting only takes a few minutes, but none of the rest surrender and only one of king's guards is found to be missing at the end of all the fighting. The wall of brambles and thorns finally reaches the end of it's duration and recedes back into the ground leaving little trace of it's presence. The areas of Mud remain though.
OOC: with the two named creatures dead, there was no chance that they could win, and rather than drag it out, we can use the week between Christmas and New Years to wrap up the module and get ready for the new module. You still need to search them, and deal with some others, but shouldn't take much more than the week we have to 2012. If you can't post during the next week, that's ok to.
XP for the final chapter is 45000 xp.

Tishe' is beaten and bloody, and her spells are nearly depleated. And whiile the companions are victorious, there are MANY ambiguous feelings about what just happened. The worst of which is... "is the Civil War over, or is the Queen going to start coming after us? And how do we get her to turn off all the Bounty Hunters?"
Her thoughts on this matter turn round and round, never getting to a satisfactory conclusion and keeping her much too busy to think about things like collecting the spoils of battle.

A few minutes later the exhausted Snafu turned to his companions with his blood covered face and broken nose and asked- "How do I look?". OK, first of all, everyone should have enough xp to level up from where they were before the module began. (inc Caedmon) so all should be the same level.
Treasure: I'll list treasure from the beginning, some has been given out already, so ready carefully.
+2 scimitar (large) Ring of Protection +2 500 gp in gems Treasure already given out (from Driscol)
Treasure from fight to Death with the Queen's Men
2 pearls of power 1st level worn as earrings +1 scimitar (large) 2500gp in random gems Platinum medallion w/ crescent moon and crossed scimitars (500gp)(holy symbol) ring of shielding Cloak of Resistance +2 scroll of flame strike (cl 9) scroll of Spell immunity (cl 7) Necklace of Fireball type 5 (1 9d6, 1 7d6 2 5d6 remaining) (From Dwellen)
+1 dagger of Venom Ring of Maniacal Devices cloak of elvenkind 2000gp in gems (From Beleah)
250 in gems 2 platinum coins as earrings, 50 in gems 300 in gems, 126 in gold 300 in gems 40 in gems 50 in gems 35 in gems 60 in gems 50 in gems 20 in gems (from the other men of the Queens guard)
Akhum's treasure:
Wine skin is magical... (like Decanter of Endless Water, but produces Wine not water at a rate of 1 gallon per hour (the only setting on wine skin) FATE Item Lunch Bag (it produces 1 meal, 3 times a day(for a medium person) goes bad after 2 hours if not eaten. Fate item Monk's Robe Bracers of Armor +5 Headband of Wisdom +4 +1 Large Scimitar flaming burst Gemmed Dagger (mwk value 4500gp) Bag of holding type 2 15000gp random gems
Bohamm's Treasure:

21,450 gp in gems 13 masterwork scimitars (large) (from rest of men)
Let me know when you identify all the items, or if you pay the catacombs to identify them. The Fate Items are not sellable (just a reminder)
So he helps look over the various items and says, "Once we identify them, I'll volunteer to take them to the Catacombs again if you'd like. I did it last time and there weren't any complaints, so if you're OK with this let me know... Re: identifying them, do any of you arcane types feel like checking them for us? Finally, do we we want to do the split like before? Last time, we determined the total value (presale), divided it by the number of people, and then let people pick items if they wanted to save on the 10% resale loss. Then, I took the items to the Catacombs, sold them and spread the money out between everyone..."

It takes a lot of time for you to decipher some of the magical gear. Are you doing it in the field, or are you going back to WatcHaven?
You first study the two earrings, and decide they are Pearls of Power level 1. The Ring after studying it, you discover is produces a force shield effect. The Cloak, once you try it on a couple times and shaking it, tugging it and smelling it, you decide it's a Cloak of Resistance +2. Studying the scrolls is easy enough and you figure them out easily. Scroll of flame strike (cl 9) Scroll of Spell immunity (cl 7) The Necklace is a bit harder, you finally decide it's a Necklace of Fireball type 5 (1 9d6, 1 7d6 2 5d6 remaining) The Medallion is non-magical. Platinum medallion w/ crescent moon and crossed scimitars (500gp)(holy symbol) There is another Ring, and after careful study, it seems to help with opening locks. Ring of Maniacal Devices Another Cloak is fairly easy to figure out, it's finely woven fabric shows Elven designs. Cloak of Elvenkind
From Akhum you find a bit of magical gear. His shirt turns out to be a Robe, a Minks Robe. The Bracers add magical protection similar to that of a Mage Armor spell. Bracers of Armor +5 His headband when worn adds to your wisdom. Headband of Wisdom +4 The sack he was carrying is extradimentional, much larger on the inside than it appears on the outside. Bag of Holding Type 2
Bohamm was wearing bracers similar to Akhum's but to a lesser extent. Bracers of Armor +2. A bottle that emits smoke when opened. Ever smoking Bottle.
The Weapons are a bit more difficult to figure out, because they are crafted for large sized people, and Tishe`s hands fumble about trying to use them.
A simple weapon, that is unnaturally sharp. +1 Scimitar (large) A vicious weapon that seems to have poison stored in it somehow. +1 Dagger of Venom (large) Another simple weapon, but this one has the runes etched into it for fire, when verbalized, it ignites the blade with a magical flame. +1 Large Scimitar flaming burst The final magical weapon is supernaturally sharp. +3 Scimitar
Then there's Items that seem to be strange, even for Tishe`
A bag that produces food. It radiates a conjuration magic. The food radiates enchantment magic. Lunch Bag (it produces 1 meal, 3 times a day(for a medium person) goes bad after 2 hours if not eaten. Fate item Then there are the two Wine skins, when uncorked they both produce wine. They both radiate conjuration magic, and the wine radiates enchantment magic. Wine skin (like Decanter of Endless Water, but produces Wine not water at a rate of 1 gallon per hour (the only setting on wine skin) FATE Item (Akhum) Wine skin (like Decanter of Endless Water, but produces Wine not water at a rate of 1 gallon per hour (the only setting on wine skin) FATE Item (Bohamm) The Last Item is a piece of Tanned Leather, it radiates Enchantment magic as well as Divination magic. It draws a map of the local area and when examined closely it marks each character on the map and shows when they move. but if they go out of sight, they vanish from the map. Self Drawing Map (it keeps a clear record of where bearer has traveled, automatically scales (like ipad)) Fate item
To get further Info on the food or wine, you would need to sample it.

Second get your catacombs lists ready, all sellable loot has been identified, do I need to give gp amounts for them? and remember all weapons are large sized due to the npc's that were using them.
Third, I'm in the process of getting the next module OK'd, sorry that I'm so late in doing so, the Holidays caught me faster than I figured they would.

Tishe' eyes Caedmon warily, but has to admit that the centaur has pulled his weight and his attitude is not anything like she remembers Galafar; the haughty and condescending chief monk of the Rattledam Council. In fact, the centaur has been more like the Bloodpack's mentor Malafret, who, Tishe' remembers, was also a monk and member of the Council.
She gives the centaur a small bow. "Many Shadows to you and your journeys, Caedmon. You are far, very far from the Sargrass Plains. We welcome you to our shade. By the Power of Sargrass maybe we can both tell our tales of how we came to be here and so far from home."
.......................
Tishe' has grave misgivings about the wineskin and food packet. "They both were part of the enchantments against the King, were they not? I think we should keep them locked up myself." Still, if Revi insists, Tishe' will insist the barbarian put away all her weapons before trying the magic. One of the "people" working in the Catacombs, something wearing a full hooded cloak, wearing gloves takes possession of the items one at a time. It appears to peer at the item intensely for a couple minutes. It then holds out it's hand. In a raspy grating voice it says, "100 gold payment." Once the coins are paid it then continues, "This wine skin is cursed, it causes the imbiber to become the victim of a feeblemind, and since the drinker did so apparently voluntarily he receives no save." That was the King's wine skin. You hand over the Lunchbag, and as the hand stretches out for payment, this time you're ready for it with the payment already counted out. "This bag produces 3 high quality meals per 24 hours, the food seems to go rancid if not eaten within a reasonable period of time. I can find nothing wrong with it's workings." The time period is 2 hours. Handing over the last wineskin and then gold, "This is similar to the previous wine skin, except that it causes blindness, again without any save." The figure hands back all 3 items, and with a flourish of it's cloak, it vanishes in puff of darkness, as if it never existed.
Revi AC28/14/28 | 197/197 | CMD 37(41sunder) Wednesday January 4th, 2012 12:42:55 PM "Dang it... I guess that answers that about the wineskins. Too bad, something like that would have come in really handy for me."
ooc: I'm assuming I'm not blinded anymore, right?
Tishe' (AC:23 CMD:16 HP 108/108) Wednesday January 4th, 2012 12:47:24 PM
"As Caedmon says, the food wallet is very useful. I think we should destroy or lock up the wineskins, however."
Tishe', now that they are healed, well fed at the Tower of WatcHaven, is able to relax. She is glad the Queen has stopped posting for bounty hunters, though she knows that there was no love lost between the Queen and the Cinnamon Protectors.
In the ensuing days, she considers what she will do on her own trip to the Catacombs.
In the meantime, she shows Caedmon to the Tower staff. First is Almar the Blackhand, a hobgoblin former Mailed Fist mercenary commander and current Chatelain of the Tower. Then there is Mouse, also a former mercenary and the chief cook who makes wonderful meals.
She asks if Caedmon can have a room in the Tower area, and will also show the centaur her garden of Sargrass plants. "When I get too homesick, or when I commune with the Power, I come here", she tells the monk, hoping that this is just the opening they need to begin talking.

ooc: who's taking care of the sale of the loot in the Catacombs?
DM - JC The Inbetween Time Thursday January 5th, 2012 12:30:19 PM
OOC: We're going to get started. (roleplaying for now while you get catacombs visits done, I'd like to get started by Monday the 9th if possible)
A few weeks have passed since the encounters with the Civil War between the husband and wife team that rules that far off country in the north. There were still a few straggling Bounty Hunters that passed through WatcHaven, but none of them stayed for more than a night or two at the Twin Tankards. They all seem to be careful not to cause a ruckus, and say very little to the Guardians.
Caedmon has a few problems, most of the come with his ability to negotiate the stairs when coming back down from the living quarters he was given. (horse hooves and steep vertical stone stairs are a bad combo) but finding that if he takes his time, he can manage it with out breaking his legs or his neck. (can't go at more than a slow walking pace or will require a Acrobatics check DC 18 regular walking pace, DC 24 double move, DC 30 run speed)
Almar has things in order quickly, with the entrance of Caedmon, he takes the vacancies of those who left in hand, but he can be heard muttering about "that damn bathtub" a few times.
Mouse shows his skills at cooking almost every meal, he also seems to have made a bargain with one of the local hunters, because you've caught sight of people leaving the back of the kitchen with parcels of steaming food.
A certain lady friend visits almost every day, bringing sweets to be eaten.
The patch of Sargrass is thriving, but it seems not to be spreading out, almost like it was fighting the ground itself for the right to spread out.
Revi AC28/14/28 | 197/197 | CMD 37(41sunder) Thursday January 5th, 2012 1:26:06 PM
During the interim, Revi hunts daily--it's the one thing she truly enjoys as she's alone and it's just her and the wilderness. During the nights she drinks at the Twin Tankards, daring any to best her in a drinking contest if they have the stomach for it and getting a taste of what there is available to help her decide what she's going to brew next--her decision, a dark malt beer. The keg, mixed and fermenting, sits quietly in the closet of her room biding it's time.
Tishe' (AC:23 CMD:16 HP 108/108) Thursday January 5th, 2012 3:21:25 PM
Tishe' waits for Caedmon to make the next overture about thier mutual though unknown common background of Rattledam and the Sargrass Plains.
In the ensuing weeks, she uses an hour a day to bring Wart up to boil and try to Scry for Skalipy, that slippery and warped rascal that caused so much problems in the past.

Caedmon takes a long, deep breath, smelling the Sargrass. "It does smell like home. Maybe one day I can return, but I am in no rush. Thank you for the kindness you have shown me."
Caedmon finds he can make it up and down the stairs fairly easily as long as he isn't in a hurry. When in a hurry he uses his abundant step to go up, or his slow fall, to get down quickly.
"If easier I can always stay in the stable."
Tishe' (AC:23 CMD:16 HP 108/108) Friday January 6th, 2012 9:59:43 AM
"So, um, how long have you been gone from Rattledam? I lived there for nearly two years until very recently. I was adopted into a pack that conducted special missions for the Council. We were the Bloodpack."
There, it was said. Now Tishe' will see how long ago Caedmon has last been to Rattledam and if he was from the faction of Galafar or Malagant. Or, she muses, even before the Council separated into factions?
Thar, AC 25, 124/124 Hps (hiding next to tree/in brush so in concealment) Friday January 6th, 2012 3:27:09 PM
Thar enjoys the free time, and spends most of it with his new love. He of course shares the treats with his companions... After all, he wants to make sure he can still fit in his armor...
To Caedmon, he says, "When we designed this place, i could have sworn that Edmund or one of our other old magicky types made a teleportation square on both levels so that someone like you could avoid the stairs if heeded. I think it's in the SE corner of the entrance, maybe by the coat closet? We'll not have anyone in our order sleeping in the stable... Not the right impression you see..."
He sees that Tishe' took the gear to the Catacombs, and that saves him a trip...
Caedmon Bogha AC 31/24/30 --SR 24 -- CMD 40/48 -- HP 158/158 Friday January 6th, 2012 6:02:24 PM "Thank you Thar, I'll check that out. Of course the stable would be no trouble, I have slept in worse."

Tishe' comes back from the Catacombs with five pouches, one each for Snafu, Thar, Revi, Caedmon, and Tishe'.
Each pouch holds 29,645 gold and 8 silver.
Thar Monday January 9th, 2012 1:54:44 PM
Thar takes the pouch from Tishe' and says, "Thanks for handling this and I can't wait to see what goodies the Catacombs has in stock..."
Caedmon Bogha AC 31/24/30 --SR 24 -- CMD 40/48 -- HP 158/158 Monday January 9th, 2012 2:35:33 PM Thank you Tishe'. You are becoming a good friend, something I have not had in quite a while. You are more than fair."

It's been about 5 months since that fateful day that you met King Akhum. You've seen the goings of just about all of the Bounty Hunters, that last one you saw was as recent as two weeks ago. The farmers have planted their seeds and the crops are beginning to grow nicely. The villagers hunters have been having great luck lately, and the smell of curing meats has been lingering for days. Most of the new buildings are being constructed from stone, mainly due to the Dwarven rock smiths have decided to stay for a while. The Catacombs at last asking, said WatcHaven was too small and unimportant for a branch terminus. This requires the Journey to Witchspire, where the closest entrance is located. The biggest argument lately has been between a couple of the farmers. They are having a dispute over a 15 foot wide strip of planted ground, which they both claim to have planted. It hasn't come to fisticuffs, but very much longer and it might.

ooc: 5 months! wow, I've never had that kinda downtime--I wish I was a spellcaster so I could craft some stuff. Can anyone craft some stuff for me to save me some gold? I'll be crafting some beer during the hiatus--lots of it and tons of hunting .
Tishe' (AC:23 CMD:16 HP 108/108) Monday January 9th, 2012 11:05:31 PM
A journey to Witchspire is not a hardship for Tishe', and she assumes for her friends as well. Well before a single month has passed, the woman from the Sargrass Plains makes the journey; there, and back again.
Daily, she scries for Skalipy, knowing he would have magics against scrying, but also knowing that but a single slip could be the break they are looking for.
Tishe' really doesn't want to get into being arbitrator for every petty squabble, and when she hears more and more of the two farming families, she makes a visit to her fellow witch of WatcHaven, making sure the local headwoman knows what's going on. Satisfied that her duty is done, she turns to other pursuits.
Daily walks help the woman both meet the local people and get used to the fact that there are so many trees here. Well, that and that water could just wander about the surface of the land without being a terrible danger to any who were nearby! She helps those as they need help, a healing touch here, a blessing on the fields there. Learning the people and thier ways while ensuring they know that the Cinnamon Protectors are here to do just that. Protect.
As the months pass, trips further afield are necessary. To see the Witchstones again, to meet with the Pitchfork Council, to see (at a distance only) the Mad Tower of Boydos.
Thar Tuesday January 10th, 2012 2:31:41 PM
Thar keeps himself busy growing his church, helping out at their mansion, visiting his beloved, hunting for game, making sure troublemakers stay away from the village, keeping bounty hunters in line and assisting in settling disputes....
He stays out of the relations with the ruling witches, trusting Tishe's diplomatic skills. He's never been one for diplomacy and others will do a much better job...
Caedmon Bogha AC 31/24/30 --SR 24 -- CMD 40/48 -- HP 158/158 Tuesday January 10th, 2012 6:04:23 PM Caedmon feels it is not his place to give counsel to farmers and instead spends time training. He also offers to go hunting with Revi. When would have also offered to travel with Tishe' to the Catacombs, but would have understood if she refused. He occasionally speaks with Tishe' about his home.
DM - JC The Inbetween Time Tuesday January 10th, 2012 7:04:44 PM
Nothing much happens during the days or the evenings. Tishe` has a disturbing dream, but when she awakens, she can't remember anything of it. It leaves her unsettled and bothered all day. Thar has a few nice picnics with his girlfriend. All in all, nothing much going on.
OOC: We start the new module tomorrow, and next Monday (01-16-12) is the cut off for purchases from the Catacombs.
Tishe' (AC:23 CMD:16 HP 108/108) Tuesday January 10th, 2012 7:16:43 PM
Tishe' corners Caedmon one afternoon. "You have said you are a monk from Rattledam: how long has it been since you have been there? My mother was from Rattledam and my father a wandering bard. Even though I was born and grew to adulthood in Hook City, I learned the weaving skill from my Rattledam dam. After a brief stint in a Protector squad, I took a Druidwood merchant ship across the Sargrass to Rattledam and joined the Bloodpack, a group of youngsters who went out from Rattledam on assignments from the Monk Council. I know a great deal of Rattledam and the Sargrass... including how both have been destroyed."
The witch watches Caedmon, wondering what he will say about that. She keeps getting distracted by that dream she can't remember. So much so that she doesn't notice when Thar considers her an excellent diplomat!
Thar Wednesday January 11th, 2012 2:27:56 PM
Thar keeps busying as usual, and his armor seems to be getting a bit tighter... Those sweet cakes and rolls from his beloved are starting to add to his waist and he thinks, "I've got to find something active to do... This sitting around and eating isn't good for my waistline..."
Revi AC28/14/28 | 197/197 | CMD 37(41sunder) Wednesday January 11th, 2012 2:39:14 PM
At first it was a secret, her passion for brewing beer, but as the fumes filled her small bedroom, she had to find another place to store all of the 75 gallon barrels of beer she was brewing--and the number was growing weekly. The first month that she had nothing to kill, it was a dark Imperial Stout she was making and when I say dark, I mean blacker than a moonless night sky with every twinkling star drowned in complete darkness. Each batch was great, then the fourth batch came up rotten--ruined. It was then Revi knew she had to move her operations to somewhere bigger--The basement maybe.
Many months went by, much beer was imbibed, which she freely shared with the rest of her companions. One month it was the Imperial Stout; the next a Pale Lager; then a Porter; a Weissbier and the final month of their hiatus from killing, a Pilsner Urquell. These were good times :)
All rolls made in a private message to the DM so as to not clutter up the board :)
