Revi chops into the dead bear, and the bear explodes in a cloud of dust, DC 19 fort or become Incapacitated for 1d4 rounds.

Snafu carves up the bear outside, DC 19 fort or become Incapacitated for 1d4 rounds.

Thar begins to channel energy, and along with Caedmon shooting arrows into it, the land shark falls to the ground. The arrows only a little of the puss and ooze out, but the channeled energy seems to cause it to explode covering everyone inside the building, fort save DC 17 or become sickened, and a fort save DC 12 if with in 10' or become nauseated)
With the explosion of the land shark, Thar was a bit busy to notice any thing other than the bears were affected by the Holy Power.

Tishe casts her wall of thorns, parts of it are on fire, because she couldn't route it through the building, but it does seem to hinder the bears a bit.

Caedmon as stated before fills the land shark with arrows, and between him and Thar the land shark stops moving when it exploded.

Another Rock crashes through the roof and misses Caedmon.

Snafu fought off the effects of the exploding bear (fort save 34), stepped forward and launched into another attack. Blade, claw and tooth could not be seen, but the cuts and blood they left behind were evidence enough.

All the while, Snafu watched the moving trees from the corner of his eye. (perception 31)

Floating in the sky, Thar manages to avoid most of the muck and stink from the creatures (Fort Save - 25, OK).

Since the channeled energy worked last time, Thar decides to give it another go and see if he can keep whittling them down with holy, divine energy... Does 26 pts of dmg to Bears 3, 4, 5, 7 and 8 (ST Will DC 16 for 1/2 dmg)

All of the bears except bear 6 are dead again. the combination of martial damage, thorns, fire and the power of positive energy do enough damage to drop them.
Only bear 6 survives still.
Snafu 1 save DC 19 fort or become Incapacitated for 1d4 rounds.
Revi 2 saves DC 19 fort or become Incapacitated for 1d4 rounds.
Tishe` 1 save DC 19 fort or become Incapacitated for 1d4 rounds.

With the wall of fire and the thorns, Snafu lost sight of what he thought was a tree moving, until it swatted him by reaching over the wall.
the limb of the tree contacted Snafu and was like getting hit with a falling branch, only this is an actual branch. (gave you 25% chance to be missed due to tremorsense) The mossy like substance on it's limbs immediately sends tendrils into Snafu's blood stream and it slows his reactions as it solidifies in them.

Damage 27 + 1 point Dex damage (no save)

Belting out a warcry, Revi runs through the hole the Landshark had made into the wall of the warehouse, through the wall of fire and within reach (10') of the giant tree (I think it should be Q12: O7,P8,Q9,R10,R11,Q12.)

On fire and screaming at the tree, Revi lets loose with a powerful attack. "Die you leafy bastard!"

While Revi handles the giant tree, Thar focuses his attention on the remaining dead bear... He can barely see it through the door but can still hit it's flank... He takes out his bow and deftly fires off a spread of arrows that sizzle with electricity...

Snafu managed to withstand exploding bear, but he was not so lucky with the tree. Not that he felt it in his enraged state.

He followed Revi's charge, straight through the fire and engaged the tree in true liontaur charging fashion.

Tishe' gags but is able to keep her lunch down as she is covered in dead bear goo.

She takes but a moment of time to Dismiss the Wall of Fire, not wanting to burn down the entire forest.

"It's a tree!", she says intelligently, looking up at the gargantuan leafy tree towering above them. "Is it the forest attacking or is it under a different spell?"

The witch really doesn't know what to do right now. Any attack by her with the tree so close would ensure a retributive strike. And there is another bear out there, trying to push into the thorns. So instead of acting, she waits, gauging the battle and conserving her limited number of spells.

Revi turns and tries to rush the Tree, she hits the wall of thorns and stops as she hits it, making it only 5 feet into it as her feet get tangled up. (you posted no roll for moving through it so I rolled and got a 14)
Thar shoots the last bear, with the arrow and thorns it also dies again with a puff of dust, but no one is near enough to it.
Snafu charges the tree. (denying sneak damage since it knows where you are generally and sneak damage is from doing unexpected damage to a target, you still get a 25% miss chance from invisible, but the tree does have tremmorsense so you don't get full 50%)
Snafu does some serious damage and as he claws and chops the tree it's bark crumbles into dust.
Tishe` holds her action after dismissing the wall of fire. Some of the wall of thorns is on fire though.
Caedmon guards Tishe` in case more animals should come through the broken walls of the workshop.

With the Land Sharks and Bears all dead, only the very big tree remains.
The tree swings at Snafu the first attack misses (from invisibility) but the second connects doing 31 damage to him as well as 5 points of dexterity damage.

@DM, the route I chose, and posted, for Revi skirted the wall of thorns because of the hole left in the wall by the landshark, so I shouldn't have hit the wall of thorns at all.

DM:

You run out of the 40' movement you have... 2 diagonals = 15' not 10, so you went 4 diagonal totaling 30' but the 2 squares where the land shark came through the wall is difficult terrain so those 2 diagonals are 30' instead of the 15 so you moved 3 squares total unless you want to run

Jim: I'm not sure how, but I thought diagonal movement penalties were removed in Pathfinder, but they were not. I guess she's eating thorns.

(new map not really needed, since Revi and Snafu are next to the tree who didn't move)

Revi charges in and chops into the tree and the same effect as Snafu's prior attacks happens, the bark and tree underneath crumble and turns to dust.
Snafu hits a couple times, but misses more than he hits.

Between Tishe` and Thar, they spot no other trees moving around, and there are no more large boulders crashing to the ground either.

Snafu took another painful hit, which further slowed him. One more hit like that and the battle would certainly be over for the Liontaur.

Nonetheless Snafu pressed the attack. What his swing lacked in coordination and speed he made up for in raw power.

Snafu, feeling the effects of the tree's mossy subject in his muscles manages to miss the tree, mainly because his body refuses to respond the way it normally does.
Revi carves up some more tree, hitting it twice.
Tishe` seeing that something is seriously wrong with Snafu, fires off her scorching ray.
Just as the tree is about to hit Snafu, it's limbs droop towards the ground and the tree leans dangerously towards the south, being kept from falling by the other true trees surrounding it. The only movement that can be seems by the thing is the gentle breeze that is blowing through the forest.
There are some small fires burning where the wall of fire had been, and the warehouse has a coupe areas that are starting to catch on fire as well.

The tree is well and truly dead, so are the bulettes and the bears.

Now, to stop the fires from growing and find out what else is in the building.....

Thar puts away his bow now that the main combat is finished, and rushes over to Snafu... He knows the fire is dangerous, but his priority is seeing to the health of his friends... With a firm touch, he says, "Here, let me see what I can do about curing you of whatever the tree hit you with..."

This spell (Restoration) will take 1 minute to cast, and then will cure Snafu of all his Dex score loss... So Thar is out of the battle for ~ 6 rounds while casting it...

Thar, examines Snafu and finds that there is some sort of mossy substance growing inside Snafu's skin and muscles. The same goes for Revi as well, but not nearly so much as Snafu.
He takes the time and casts his spell, Snafu seems to return to normal, for now.... Although still wounded and it appears that there is still some trace of whatever it was still inside him. It just isn't effecting him now....

"I'm confident that the powers given me by Sargrass will be able to heal everyone and eliminate the mossy tree growth inside of Revi and Snafu.", says Tishe'. "But let's get the fires out before we cause a forest fire!"

Tishe' doesn't have any spells to help with dousing a fire, and so will do her best by throwing dirt on the blazes until they are out. If any fires threaten the forest proper, Tishe' will use her Staff of Fire to circle the blaze and burn everything out inside the Wall of Fire.

It takes a few minutes to put out the fires, about the time Thar is done casting on Snafu, the others are done extinguishing the fires.
The building looks real unsafe right now, with most of the south and west wall demolished from the land sharks having made new entrances there. The door to the smaller area, is locked.

Revi's hurt too but he doesn't have any more restoration spells... However, he does have Neutralize Poison and after inspecting Revi to see if the tree's sap is poison (Heal = 27 ), he casts it on her to help clear up the condition... He'll also cast Lessor Restoration to cure 4 pts of Dexterity damage

He knows that there are others who need healing, and he'll do it in later rounds...

The damage was DAMAGE, not a Drain, so lessor will do nothing. It is also not a poison, it seems to be a "unliving" substance like a fungus you'd find on a tree's bark, only this seems to feed on muscle and blood.

On Snafu. the substance seems to be non-active, but it is not "gone" just dormant? maybe?

For the fungus, Tishe' tries to see if Cure Disease or even Command Plants would destroy the fungus.

If nothing in her inventory seems like it will work, Tishe's mind turns to the locked door. "This place looks like Skalipy's hideout in that it is a laboratory, but it tests monsters instead of people. It could be the now-gone lair of a Monstrologer. My packmate Gilan was wanting to do that back in the Sargrass Plains."

Having done what you could for your companions the group gathers in the doorway to the workshop. The far wall, which had workbenches along it is gone, and the benches are just more rubble added to the demolished wall. The south wall added its remains to the wrecked cages that lined that wall, in fact the southern end of the roof is sagging quite severely, it may be about to crash to the ground, luckily there is no wind right now.
The interior wall looks solid, the door has a fairly hefty pad lock on it, keeping it closed. There are no windows in either the interior or exterior of that area. The stench from the rotted insides of the land sharks is quite powerful, but you can mostly keep from gagging, only once in a while stopping yourself from puking.

The tree outside that you stopped is slowly disintegrating into a pile of crumbled whatever...

The door explodes as Revi hits it, going inside the room is divided into two rooms it looks like, the shattered door reveals a 10 foot by 20 foot office with another wall and a door to the west. This room is some sort of office, there is a desk, but it looks like it's been cleaned out, the rest of the room has another workbench with a few glass vials as well as a quite a bit of broken glass. There there is a filing cabinet that looks like it was set afire and left to burn, luckily the warehouse failed to catch and burn to the ground.
Beyond the door on the west wall is a set of stairs, cut out of the stone that is apparently just below the soil, or maybe it's just magiced and then the stairs were cut into it, seems as though there are a lot of trees outside after all. At the bottom, it turns left and vanishes from sight, after going down for almost 50 feet.

The group proceeds down the stone stairs, the tunnel takes a westerly turn at the bottom. Peering around the corner, Revi sees the hallway go about 60 feet, the sides and roof are made of stone, the floor is just a simple packed earth. Near the end, a couple of roots have grown up from the floor, making it a tight squeeze even for a man sized person, those whom are large sized will take a good 5 minutes to just get through, unless you remove the roots.
Getting past the root system, the group sees the hallway change into a line of what looks like prison cells on both sides. Four doors to a side and one at the end for a total of nine doors. All of the doors except one are open, that one is the furthest door on the south wall. Each door has a pane of glass in it, weird for a prison. Glancing through the window, you can make out a hazy form in the shape of a "man" more than that, you'd have to either open the door or break the window.

Nothing responds to the banging on the door, or the tapping on the window.
The walls and ceiling, as well as the floor are made of stone, that appears summoned by a spell. There is an active spell on the door and it seems to be active only on the inside of the door, not the side the group is standing on.
As said before the shape of what is in the room is a "person", 2 legs, 2 arms, a body and a head.

The half-elf lowers her arm from her face, her eyes adjusting to the light. As Thar steps forward, she backs away slightly before getting a better looks at her new "captors".

Her expression is one of confusement. "You're not with them" is said more as a statement than a question. Seeing an old box (or is it a chest?) to the side of her cell, she takes a seat. Leaning back against the wall, her legs outstretched and spread, her arms droop in front of her. No visible signs of hostility at least.

She holds her hand up to stop Thar from approaching "I'm fine. Just a little woozy. Did, did they get me drunk?!?" she tries to collect her thoughts, before briskly shaking her head and answering - or more like asking - some questions.

"The name's Lia. So where'd the others go? Ugly dwarf, his whore, and rat-boy? They were here like ten seconds ago. You must have passed them on the way in"

Lia does her best to remember and convey her thoughts to the group. "Perhaps we can continue this outside? Rinn will be wondering where I've gone"

Seeing puzzled looks, Lia continues "Rinn's my.. Uh... Protector"

Regaining her footing, Lia nudges the crate with her foot, dislodging the lid. Seeing her belongings within, she grins and proceeds to both equip herself and change her attire, paying little attention to modesty or the reactions of any of the males in the group.

Tishe' nods at the resiliance of Lia, a good quality, perhaps... "It is a sound plan to get back upstairs before introductions and speaking more on our next steps. It is cramped enough in here as it is!" Not able to get a good look in the cell, the witch has no idea what Lia is doing.

Tishe' transfers the cantrip on her staff to the door to provide light for Lia to get dressed, and then she retraces her steps back into the intimidating forest. "So many trees...", she shudders, much preferring the open spaces of her destroyed homeland.

Once in the air, Tishe' waits for her packmates and Lia to emerge before beginning. Lia sees an average-looking woman, brown is her eyes and wavy hair. She dressed in greens and tans, a staff that looks like flickering fire in one hand and a small cauldron hanging from a hip. The only thing that looks different than an ordinary housewife is that her face is pock-marked as if from some old disease and her nose looks like it wants to slide off the left side of her face.

"Many Shadows, Madame Lia, and to that of your Prottector Rinn. I am Tishe' Weaver, a witch in the service of Sargrass. I seem to be also the leader of this pack we call the Cinnamon Protectors. We have each been drawn to the Cinnamon Valley under mysterious circumstances and have agreed to stay together until we can determine what those reasons may be. While staying in the Cinnamon Valley, we have used our might to help the peaceful denizens of that Valley to protect and support."

The witch lets Lia take this in before continuing.

"In the last week, we are on the trail of a packmate that seems to have found the lair of an old foe; a disfigured dwarf named Skalipy. This is not the end of the trail, but it looks like you are a piece of it." Tishe' takes an intuitive jump and her eyes sparkle. "It appears that you and your Rinn are in need of some revenge with Skalipy. Would you break your path with us for a while?"

Once outside, Lia takes a look about, taking in the sight of the trees and the remnants of the building, breathing in the fresh forest air.

She listens as Tishe speaks, before responding. "An interesting tale, Tishe. Though I am not sure about joining this 'pack', as you call it. Rinn and I prefer to go about things our own way. I shall confer with him on the matter though" Lia responds politely to Tishe with a light nod.

Standing aside from the rest of the party, Lia puts her thumb and index finger to her mouth. It looks like she is trying to whistle, yet no noise can be heard. It takes but a minute for a shape to form before her. A very large shape. In a short time the shape materialises into that of a huge, six-legged monster. Easily 16ft high. Covered in dark fur, his claws and teeth look extremely sharp. He seems to look at each member of the party and a deep, gutterul growl comes from him and he moves to approach.

Lia cocks her head and the monster seems to calm down. His pose similar to that of a submissive dog. She turns back to look at the party "This is Rinn. Don't worry. He will not harm you now" before looking back at her 'monster'.

The two look at each other for quite a while before Lia spins back to face the party. "A year! I've been locked down there for a year!?!" She follows this up with a short tirade of vulgarity - swear words and curses in many different languages. You catch references to a dwarf, a pair of pliers, and the disintegrate spell. She is not happy.

She finally calms down enough to speak to the rest of the group. "Rinn tells me that I've been gone for over a year. I have no memory of this." she is pacing the ground, her face red with anger as she tries to make sense of everything. She finally pauses to approach Tishe. "I have decided that we would like to accept your gracious offer, Tishe. It seems our paths have crossed for a reason. I am not seeking revenge though. I want justice brought down on this dwarf, Skalipy you call him." You gather that the difference between revenge and justice may be lost on Lia. "Whatever Rinn and I can do to aid you along the way, you need only ask" She gives an open bow before the witch. "My name is Lia Dorwynn. Like you, Rinn and I travel looking to aid and support those that need it. If you would have us, we would gladly aid you as well"

Lia tends to Rinn and herself casting a variety of spells and patting one of Rinn's forelegs, while he playfully tries to nuzzle against her.

Revi takes care of the treant, bears and landsharks as stated previously. Due to her background being an Anatomist, she'll carefully dissect the creatures and inspect them for any hidden clues as to Skalipy's or Kahlan's whereabouts, and to make their body parts smaller so they'll burn better in the bonfire she is going to build.

While she does this, she talks to Snafu, "Hey Snarf, that was pretty impressive back there. I've been thinking about it, and I was wondering if you could teach me a little about alchemy--what you do to make yourself stronger like that."

"A year?", Tishe' takes some time to come to grips with the time that Lia has been comotose and what that means about Skalipy's power. "That explains why you described Sharon (female werewolf) and Mortimer (rat-boy) as still alive. We killed them a couple of months ago, but Skalipy had escaped. We have no problems in getting some revenge as long as it works within the greater good. Why don't you break trail with us for a while before you choose to actually be part of the pack?"

Tishe' isnt' the most perceptive person in the Wold, but even she can see the strange mark prominent on both Lia and Rinn. "A Summoner", she states, "there was rumor weaving in the 'Grass that such magic was abroad, but I confess you are the first I have ever met." She looks at Rinn and gives the monster a short bow. "Many Shadows to you, Rinn, and glad I am of your companionship."

Tishe' is able to initiate and control the fire of the tree, the bullettes, and the bears by waiting for the others to pile up the corpses in one pile, and then surrounding the pile with an inward-facing Wall of Fire from her Staff. Inward-facing, the heat and flames only consume the objects interior to the fire, keeping the Forest safe.

Tishe' then brings out the Map that the group got out of Kahlan's mount's saddlebags. "This is where we are going, to Mount Bone. The map shows us where there is a secret entrance and it should lead us right to Skalipy."

Thar helps inspect the corpses, and removing his robes, digs in them, flinging entrails left and right (of course avoiding hitting his friends), checking their stomachs and other disgusting body parts for anything interesting...

He also greets Rinn with a friendly nod, always interested in using his ranger abilities to befriend creatures... He complements Lia on the majesty and power of such a companion and looks forward to seeing it rip and tear into enemies they might face...

He's especially interested in the office area, and says, "We've still got a door to open up and I don't think we've investigated everywhere... Once I get this gunk off me, let's see what else is there..."

Snafu the Liontaur goes to work with Revi and Lia. All the while he maintains a constant stream of chatter.

A short while later Revi brings up alchemy which gets Snafu only more excited, so much in fact that he misses the 'Snarf' comment. "Yes... yes... the wonders of alchemy. A dab or this and a splash of that and VOILA! It's quite amazing really some of the effects you can mimic with alchemy. I'd be happy to show you all that I know. Perhaps one day I'll even be able to construct formulae that you can use to boost your already powerful abilities."

"Your sheer power and skill combined with my flurry of sneak attacks will make for a deadly combination in melee. I'm only starting to realize the possibilities!"

After digging through the gunk and insides of the critters what is found is a gauntlet and a total of 5000 gps in various coinage. (gold, silver, copper and even a couple of platinum thrown in)
After the burning, you are surprised to find a piece of the treant still remains. About a 6 foot long section of it appears completely untouched. (basically a staff)

You had opened the door and then found the stairs down to where Lia was kept prisoner. The scrap of a note you found was from the remains in the first beyond the previously locked doorway.

Rinn seems pleased with the attention he is receiving, smiling and baring his large fangs proudly. Though capable of speech, he is yet to talk - verbally, at least. He occupies himself with chewing on a rather sizeable log, in much the way a dog would with a bone.

"I have never been able to really phrase who or what I am" Lia responds to Tishe "I understand that others use the phrase 'summoner', but I don't know if that is right. Rinn is just as much a part of me as I am to him." This is said matter-of-factly, as she watches her eidolon turn the nearby log into splinters.

"Curious that you have already disposed of the woman and the rat. It sounds as if you have been after the dwarf for some time. Has he wronged you as well?"

Their conversation is interupted by Snafu, who seems both talkative and excited. "Special feelings? How about we just travel together first?" she responds with a wry smile and curious look, potentially misinterpreting Snafu's sentiments.

"So... Mount Bone" she subtly changes topic "It is not a place I am familiar with. But if the dwarf is there, then I would gladly travel there with you"

Lia walks over to Rinn, and mounts one of the two exotic saddles on his back. "Are you sure?" she quietly asks Rinn before speaking more loudly.

"Master Thar, Rinn would like to offer you a seat on his other saddle, if you so choose" she gestures to the saddle behind her.

Though appearing to be quite over recent events, Lia's mind continues trying to think of a fitting punishment for Skalipy. At present, no punishment seems severe enough.

Tishe' laughs, her brown eyes twinkling at Revi's statement. "Too true, sweetie, now let's see if I can find any more specific information."

The witch brings both the gauntlet and staff to the grass in front of her and then casts Identify and Read Magic. She then uses her knowledge of spells to carefully determine the magic items properties.

After the magic items are passed out for use or storage, Tishe' pats Caedmon on the forearm. "You are a blackhanded packmate for the offer, sweetie, but I do have my own transportation." Once everyone is ready, the Witch pulls out a Broom from the magical Quiver on her back and is ready to Fly along with the group.

It takes a while, but after some long delving into the base magic of the staff and gauntlet, it's discovered that the gauntlet is a gauntlet of rust. The Staff, all that can be figured out is that it's a +3 staff, but more than that... it comes up blank.

As to moving on, does the group wish to travel in the forest, or move to the edge of the forest before you continue on ward towards Shadow mountain....

Thar sighs and says, "Yes, Lia... you're right.... As much as I'd love to ride on your majestic mount, you're right that if we want stealth out front, then I should be on my own..."

He pats Rinn and says, "My friend, It was an honor to ride on you for this short time... Maybe we can go hunt some prey some time together..."

After climbing down, he arranges his gear, puts dirt and mud on his face to block out the shine, ties everything down and readies his travel cloak...

He then takes point and leads the way to the edge of the woods, and then towards wherever the group decides to go....

The group safely makes it out of the forest, there is a feeling of being watched, but no one saw anything or anyone watching them. Traveling along the forest's edge you make good time is your heading for Shadow mountain. It still looks along way off, but then again, it really is very very tall.
The days pass, you make camp, break camp, you move along.
After a few days, you come to the river that mostly cuts the Wold north to south. You head south hoping to reach one of the few ferries that cross the river. Reaching the first small village, it's discovered that their ferry will not be repaired until some time next week. A quick peek at the ferry confirms that it might be ready next week, the group is informed that about a days travel further south, there is a bigger village that has two ferries that work the river.

With several days travel, Tishe' is able to recover the few wounds she had on her body, and is in top condition as they arrive at the ferry and village.

Tishe' considers briefly the larger village and then puts the question to her packmates. "We could go south and to this other village. There we may be able to get rumors of what is going on (if anything) around Mount Bone. Or we can be more stealthy and pretend to go south. As soon as there are no eyes on us, I'm sure we can all fly over the river ourselves. The benefit is to be as surprising as possible to Skalipy, but the drawback is we may not have needed information ourselves."

Tishe' is content whichever way the group wants to go.

(OOC - Re: Revi's infection... Did we determine if it is a disease or poison? I have spells to cure both but I'm not sure what the final determination from the DM was... I assume that during our trip, Thar'd have time to cast the relevant spell and fix Revi...)

Thar looks at the water and shrugs his shoulders... "Well, if we're going to cross, we might as well go South. That said, is there anyway we can cross on our own right here? It's a bit more secret this way... If we go to the village and cross there, everyone will know what we're doing, including any foes...:"

"It all depends on how much discretion you wish to use with the journey. Rinn here could fly us all over the river, but that sight would likely cause a lot of discussion in the town, and the dwarf would no doubt hear about it. Similarly, I could give everyone here the gift of flight and we could fly over" the half elf considers other options "Rinn or one of my other friends - water elementals for instance - could tow us across, either be in the water ourselves, or a vessel of some kind could be towed."

"Of course, I'd rather stay dry, so I could just teleport us to the other side instead" she adds with a smile "I don't know as much as the rest of you about our foe or destination, but if we need information than the town to the south may have what we seek"

Caedmon reaches into his pack and pull out four glowing horseshoes. He pries the four he has on and puts them back in the pack before replacing them with the glowing horseshoes.

"I can cross the water without assistance now." Caedmon walks out and hovers about 4 inches above the water."

OOC: Replace Horseshoes of Speed with Horseshoes of the Zephyr. Soo slow now... base land speed is only 90ft now instead of 120ft.
