Water Runing Down Hill, Just Flows Faster

The village that you can see in the distance is on the far side of the river. It consists of a large number of smallish hovels most of them one constructed against the other. Near the single dock is a very small tavern with an attached stable for the mules that should be pulling the ferries back and forth, which one of them is not seen anywhere.

Tishe' prefers for everyone to re-cross the river in order to have mutual support in case it is needed. Tishe' herself will fly her broom up and look for the barge, perhaps it is half-sunk somewhere...

Thar continues checking the city out, investigating various areas... Since he has to cross the river, he looks for a log or submersible object that he can swim behind and cross in order to look normal... He'll cover his head with some branches and mud in order to block any reflection or sheen, and put some twigs and leaves there to make it look like a floating branch...

This assumes that he can push past the current...

Everyone manages to make it across the river again, this time about a 1/2 mile north of the village, well collection of hovels. the main north-south roadway travels straight through the collection of buildings, there is a road going east from the small dock where the two ferries are usually docked. one ferry is sort of docked, as only 1 of the mooring lines is keeping it from heading down stream. there still is no sight of the second ferry.
There is no movement in the area, except what is caused by the slight breeze that is blowing from west to east around Shadow Mountain. No cats, no dogs, and no sight of anything, it like everything just up and vanished.

Lia dismounts from Rinn to get closer to the ground. "Perhaps the ferry broke free and went sailing off down the river by itself. And everyone went after it. With their animals. Leaving noone behind" she says, talking to try and camouflage any signs of nervousness.
