Bosk makes sure the group belongings are picked up before heading down towards the cold waters. I don't think we have any choice but to keep moving. We need to make sure Toby is rescued before the boat returns, and we have no way of knowing if the tunnel will flood. With that Bosk picks up his bag and moves slowly down to the water's edge, moving slowly as he gets used to the darkness around him.
As he walks he says a out loud, Any idea how long these potions last? I would hate to swim into the tunnel only to have the potion wear off and find us all trapped. Hopefully once we find the tunnel we will be able to easily swim from the opening to the surface without magical aid.

Zeoll ponders and then agrees -- IF the group will cover the costs ... because it will probably cost 500 gp or more in coin or items.
If enough people kick in cash or goods, Zeoll spends ten minutes calling in a request for help. He is seeking a friend of the Fey King, a creature, likely a fey, but you never know who the fey king will send to answer the call. [OOC: Casting Lesser Planar Ally, to bring "an outsider (of 6 HD or less) of the deity's choice."]
There is an initial offering required of 500 gp -- no avoiding that. Then there is a fee ... "A task taking up to 1 minute per caster level requires a payment of 100 gp per HD of the creature called. For a task taking up to 1 hour per caster level, the creature requires a payment of 500 gp per HD. A long-term task, one requiring up to 1 day per caster level, requires a payment of 1,000 gp per HD." Because Zeoll is a Cradled Lorist, this fee is reduced by d10x500, or 500 gp (rolled a 1).
Zeoll wonders who the Fey King will send, and if they will be helpful.

All assembled, the group follows Croff down into the dark depths of the lagoon and shortly come upon the cave mouth. Something stirs inside, but after a moment of worry, the group see's it's the fleeting rear view of Zane's behind as he enters the cave itself.
Inside, through a wide passage way circular in size--more than likely a nother lava tube, the group emerges into a larger cave that has a sizeable airpocket in it. Here they find Zane already scanning the area. There is no sign of the boy and girl, but there is a small beach where numerous ssmall footprints are seen.
Just as everyone gets ready to call out, a young boy of ten years comes out of the shadows of a coral outcropping and says, "It's about time!" Bosk shakes his head. I don't know what potion you are expecting the children to drink, we had one potion apiece, and we each drank one to get down here. Unless we can swim to the surface while holding our breaths, then we will have to think of something else to do to help the kids....
Wait, I think I have just the thing. Bosk digs around in his bag and pulls out two golden foil wrapped balls. I won these at the Giggling Ghost and was saving them in case we were ever stuck in another tsunami. They each have the ability to cast water breathing on someone. This can help us to get the kids out of here, but I think we should help Restlin find what he is looking for before we leave.
Turning to the wizard he asks, Is there anything we can do to help? Are you looking for something mundane or magic? I may have some spells that could aid you, and I have scrolls with the detect magic cantrip.
Looking down at the golden balls and thinking of the spells and scrolls used to cure the group Bosk is beginning to realize that he is losing money on this adventure, but he reminds himself that this was done to save a couple of children and not to make money. There would be much dishonor in letting a couple man-cubs die for want of gold, and he already had the blood of child one his hands...Curse the Temple of the Illithad.

This should help to keep us a bit warmer. I might be able to do something to generate a bit more warmth for us as well. The cleric once again reaches into his bag and pulls out a large, taur sized anvil that he uses for his crafting projects while on the road. Unrolling a piece of vellum with Rose's Temperature Control inscribed upon it he begins reciting the incantation and causes the anvil to heat up like a furnace or his own portable forge. Although it is not hot enough to melt the metal, it should radiate enough heat to keep the group warm and even to cook a meal upon if necessary. There, that should do quite nicely. Restlin (Carl) -- AC: 17/14/15 CMD: 15 HP: 50/50 (Spells) Tuesday October 9th, 2012 8:24:41 AM
Restlin smiles at Bosk's offer. "I'm afraid not, but thanks for offering. All I'm trying to do right now is get that ship out of here, hopefully with the children and without a dragon sinking it. Once we deal with it, I just need to get a chance to inspect that fish. I don't know how I'm going to do that. Even if I still had water breathing potions I'm not at home down there. That fish would likely just eat me."
(DM Jim, is it the next day? Has Restlin had chance to prep new spells?)
Zane Stormfront AC 27 CMD 23 HP 43/63 Tuesday October 9th, 2012 1:40:22 PM "Heading out there to meet that ship is gonna get messy. I told you there's a ship wreck in that bay. By approaching them, you give them a target if they are so inclined. If they are out for revenge, trying to warn them off won't work either."
Zane already knows it's too late to stop Zeoll, but maybe not too late to protect the rest.....
Bosk AC: 29/14/26 CMD:23 HP 57 of 64 Spells d20+11=30 ; Tuesday October 9th, 2012 2:57:36 PM
The cleric looks annoyed at the ships presence. It seems clear that they are here to catch the goldfish. If we don't try to do something then we risk angering the dragon. He could come after us for harming the fish through our inaction, and at the very least we have to expect that he will attack the fishermen on that boat in which case their blood would be on our hands for not attempting to warn them. I don't think there is any way to maintain our honor by standing here. I will go with Zeoll to warn them, and if the worst should happen I will do my best to get us back to safety quickly.
Acrobatics to cross the lily pads = 30
ooc: If a fight breaks out I will use dimension door to bring Zeoll and I back as close to shore are possible. Since he is large sized we likely won't make it all the way back to shore.
Time of Day -- Jim C Tuesday October 9th, 2012 7:24:22 PM
It is very late at night, maybe 1am. So it is not the next day in the context of renewing spells,etc... that is still hours away, so you may want to redo your posts.
Beriothian (Will)-- AC:23/16/16 HP: 62/62 CMD = 23 (hero point spent) Tuesday October 9th, 2012 8:45:07 PM
ooc: can we keep the nat 20 for diplomacy?
Zeoll (HP49 of 49, AC23, CMD15) Tuesday October 9th, 2012 9:46:50 PM
Redo and Redux:
Zeoll uses his uncast Dimension Door spell spell to get onto the boat. He takes with him the first non-Taur who says he wants to go. On board the ship, he tries to convince the fishers to stop hunting the goldfish, for the sake of their lives. Diplomacy 40 without the heroism.
Then he asks them to take the children away from this dangerous place, for a fee to be negotiated. Diplomacy 39.

The song "Never split up the party" runs through Bosks mind as Zeoll prepares to leave. Wait one minute. The cleric ties a white hankercheif to his expandaple rod as a small flag. Do you have a way to get back if things turn bad? If not, this may help them see we come in peace. Drop the flag or extend the rod 39.5ft and we will know things turned bad. If that happens I will use dimensional door to join you, either to help fight or I can pick you up and fly you all back to shore.
If Zeoll agrees and wants Bosk's help he will cast Ant Haul on himself from a scroll and fly from his prepared domain spells.

Restlin has the most at stake here, so he volunteers to head to the ship with Zeoll.

As the men fish the blond taur realizes that there is a chance of the fishers hooking the fish before they can be stopped. Turning to the young rogue Bosk, his brother from another mother, and raises an eyebrow. Do you still have your "Wonder Twin Ring" handy? I don't know what Restlin is trying to accomplish, but if Goldie shows up I am thinking we may need to turn into something a little more amphibious in order to cut the lines or free ti from a net. Restlin, would that interfere with your mission, or would a close up look help you in your quest? If the fish needs freeing, I can't be blamed if it takes me longer than expected to cut the lines. Bosk gives a quick wink to show the wizard he trusts his judgement, and will not question his decision or ask for details or justification.
Zane Stormfront AC 27 CMD 23 HP 43/63 Wednesday October 10th, 2012 7:57:35 PM
Standing near the camp, Zane reaches back, pulls out his personal bow and readies an arrow, hoping beyond hope that he won't need it.
readied action, shoot arrow if friends are attacked.
Beriothian (Will)-- AC:23/16/16 HP: 62/62 CMD = 23 (hero point spent) Wednesday October 10th, 2012 8:24:18 PM Of course I still have my ring, though we are probably better off teleporting over as planned and just pushing the guy with the pole into the water. Otherwise we will have two in the water, two on the boat, and two stranded on shore... not a smart situation if you are about to infuriate an entire ship freeing their trophy.
