The captain see the futile effort that is left but continue his attack with frustration again he roars as he brings his sword down on Kerg this time connecting for damage, his blade bite deep into his chest and the Big ord smiles if you call it that ( Hp 12)
Orc 12 follows the other orc off the side and into the ocean with a leap, but does not make the sea before growing feathers
As the spell ends so does the druid as fast as he can also jumps but with style as he swan dives from the railing.

Round 38!
Jozhur shots at Orc 12 but misses due to the -4 penalty firing into melee.
Last round, Yel'kno hits Orc 1 with an AoO that kills it. Yel'kno then hits Big Orc for 7! Meanwhile, Gaston and Tula hit Orc 11 for 13 and Tommy hits Orc 12 for 5.
Kerg strikes at Big Orc but misses.
Coer hurls a javelin but misses due to the -4 penalty firing into melee.
Spire shoots a magical bolt of energy at the swimming Orc 2, for 3 damage.
Sten uses a scroll to put a sphere of fire as soon as the druid appears. (readied action)
Rafe, sorely wounded, does not react at once. [OOC: catch up next post if necessary.]
THE ENEMY
Big Orc attacks Kerg in anger, and hits for a solid 12 damage to Kerg.
The Druid has been waiting for this moment, and sprints for the rail as soon as he can get away from the pit that has just expires. However, Sten has been waiting too. The Flaming Sphere hits the druid, and he rolls his save ... a natural 3, and the druid takes 13 damage from Sten's spell. He then leaps into the water, where his shark companion has been waiting.
Orc 11 is the only one left on the boat, except for the captain. So he dives overboard too.

As the Battle rages on Gaston, Tula take aim and shoot at the fleeing Druid even though he is getting a bit out of range. Gaston's arrow goes off to the right and hits nothing but water. Tula on the other hand have a bit better aim, her arrow fly's clean and true and right into the back of the druids head sending him head ofer heals into the sea. His body can just be seen floating in the waves. Sten makes sure dead is dead with a sling and his stone clips the dead body in the back. Tommy sees the druid fly off the shark and turns his attention to the big orb captain, his arrow also flys true and hammers the ugly brute in the chest, he stumbles toward the railing but is met with a arcane bolt too as Spire burns a hole in the beast. He falls dead to the deck of his ship, right on top of the bleeding Kerg his mouth gurgling blood. Coer's Javelin strike harmlessly into the deck well off target but not needed. The grease on the deck also messes up Jozhur but again dead orc's all round mean that this to is not a huge deal.
There is a sudden calm, as the wind dies down and the battle comes to a end, however now the yelling below decks can clearly be heard and the elves and crew on the Lionfish madly bail water from the Lionsfish hull. Even though the battle was won the Lionfish is still in danger and badly in need or repairs . Plus only half the crew is left on board the Lionfish the other half is on the pirate ship.

The group surveys the scene of the battle Yel'kno heaves the big orc's body off of Kerg and heal him with his wand then helps him to sit up Kerg decides to remain seated on the deck of the pirates ship catching his breath. Jozhur sees that Kerg is tended to, then opens the hatch to the rowers and wait for Yel'kno but draws his dagger for close combat, Yelling choices of death, of swimming, or surender Yel'kno wait at the top of the hatch as well. The Drummer who long since seen the way this battle was going, decide that survival is better then not throws the key toward you, but on the floor in the hold, he has one of the roarer with a dagger to his neck, he grunts I GO OR I KILL and waits. Rafe sees that the Lionfish is in great need of repair, but from where he is on the pirate ship he can do little Sten keeps a eye on the druids body Note The druid is off the map, 175 ft west of the lionfish,
Mean while back on the Lionfish the problems are a bit more serious Spire try to appeal to the former slaves good nature, the 3 that came out to help with the fighting cross over to the Lionfish going below to help but the other remain on the ship still afraid to come on deck. Coer goes below deck to find out how bad things are, He see two rather larger holes now in one one each side of the ship, as well as lots of cracks in the boards around them. There is a fair amount of water in the bottom of the boat still and more coming in by the minute. The elves and what remains of the crew Gaston, Tula and tommy now included are maddly bailing out the water to keep on top of it.

A dip in the water was a likely a death sentence anyway with all the blood in it. "But if you harm that man your join your friends... only more slowly."
Assuming the pirate vacates the ship peacefully enough, Yel'kno will set about freeing the rowers and then work with the freed slaves and his companions to move the pirate ship alongside the Lionfish and tie them together.
"Sten, do you have any magic that could help with the hull?" He asks the druid, remember his wood shaping spell from the centaur port.
Continuing with the wild assumptions... if they can get the Lionfish fit to sail to a land for a repair.. "Unless anyone else can think of a better idea we should strip one of the pirate ships of provisions and anything else and have the rowers consolidate in one. They can either follow up or we can point them to Rum. As much as I'd like to be able sell the pirate's ship, I don't see how we can get them both to port."

The drummer slowly moves off the the rail of the boat and as he is allowed to leave jumps from the boat, he leave the roarer unharmed which is not customary ,but hey weirder things have happened.
The roarer now free move the ship so the side of the lion fish and allow it to be lashed to the larger ship for the crew to move back to their ship. There is an overall conciseness that stripping the one ship to repair the Lionfish would work, Cato reports that he can make some temporary fixes for now but you have to immediately return to a port for proper repairs .
The elves continue to bail the bail with the crew, and the group as the repairs are made to keep the Lionfish afloat as the repair get closer to completion the bailing get less and the three orc ask to leave. The two crews or roars that are now free ask to take the other boat and leave.

With the choice made the crew set there sails for the port of Chestford
The captain welcomes the new crew member that replaces one of the crew that was just lost in the fight, Grog seams able and goes about his business, professionally taking he orders and doing as asked.
Spire try's to figure out the mysterious ring and comes up with its a fate item called a "Ring of Engagement" but little more and as Yel'kno has already found out it's unremovable at the current time what it does is hard to say though.
As things calm down, the crew starts to relax and go about the business or sailing the ship, it ships sails slowly, but the repairs are holding even at you pick up speeds As the day wares on and the sun starts setting, things are quiet and, Gaston seams to talking to the new crew member Grog, but other then this there is nothing of note.

Yel'kno shrugs as Spire is unable to figure out much more about his Sea Elven Ring of Inevitable Castration. "Looks nice at least"
On the voyage he will see to giving the remains of the fallen Lionfish sailor to the sea with the proper rites of a sailor.
He agrees that they should only sail with light for now, but will ask sten and Tommy to keep night watch since they can see in the dark. Otherwise spread the sailing duty equally among the healthy crew, adding in anyone that was wounded after they've been healed.

As the sun sets Yel'kno sets night watch of Sten and Tommy as they have better night eyes then the rest. You cast anchor and lower the sails for the night. The last of the light fades from the sky and you complete the tasks. Cato is working at some minor repairs but quits as the light fails him. Tula reports all is well and that the crew is healing.
Gaston wanders over to where Yel'kno is giving the crew there orders for the night. There is a look of disgust of his face and a snarl on his lips Capt'n we have a problem, I don't thinks that you be the right man for this crew and this ship, you have shown us nothing but stupidity, we have lost friends and money since you came here and just about ended up in Davy Jones Locker, I want the captains position, YOU ARE NOT FIT TO LEAD US, I challenge you to one on one combat as is my right, He pull his sword from his belt, draw steel or show the true yellow of your belly, cur He waits for the Yel'kno reply

I take it you would have preferred we have given over or brethren to the pirates to be worked to death and then likely eaten? That did not prove to be a popular opinion with the ret of the crew."
"But if money concerns you, you need to revisit that thought. We've likely taken in more gold from the pirate ships that attacked us than the Lionfish would make in a normal voyage plus I doubled the crew wage so do not speak to me of losing money. By Eberyons rebirth, Gaston it tears me apart the Joansoe didn't make it on my watch, but unless you'd prefer the blood of innocents on your hand there was little choice. Now use you brain a moment and think. Offer your advice if you have it, I'll listen, but don't think this is your only option. But if you wish to fight for the Captain's cabin you're welcome to it. Sub DM Jon E Finally over Wednesday October 24th, 2012 8:49:20 PM We have a good week worth off food capt and only one water cast left reply Tula to Coer and Gaston is well as to be expected he is missing a few teeth and you broken his nose, and leg but he will live [/b]
You check the maps and find that there are several island along the way and finding one big enough was not hard for you manage. The Lionfish limps its way to a small island a few miles wide, and circle in shape and it looks to have only in beach that you can see marked on the map and it just happens to be on the side closest to you. You set your course and arrive at the island close to evening the same day.
You find as you sail closer to the beach that is marked you see smoke trail in the sky, it seems to be about the same direction as the beach. As you get closer to the island is mostly covered in palm trees except for the one beach in a small cove from where you are you can just make out that the smoke it is coming from a small building made of wood, the smoke is coming from a chimney in the roof.
You can also make out a small dock that is build into the cove, there are no boats occupying the dock at this time. You are still a few hundred yards from shore,

The party preps there gear and Yel'kno orders a row boat readied. Soon the boat is ready and you disembark from the Lionfish in the smaller row boat and row toward the dock. As you get closer to shore you can hear a lot of yapping and snarling, soon you can make out the source of the noise, Bashing, thrashing and gnash and yelping at the door are 8 huge black dogs about 4-5 feet high and barrel chested the are drooling and foaming as they assault the front door and walls of the building with mindless effort. By the time you make the shore you can also hear someone yelling Back Back Get Lost, Please leave me alone you mutts, it's me you fools, more to less repeating in a loop. The building it self is made of wood and look very well build, The area around the building is all clear and a small garden has been planted off to the left one side of the building. There are several wooden saw horses and a large moss covered pile of firewood is stacked to the right. There is a small well use path leading off over a small hill toward the right side as well. There is nothing else of note to be seen from where you are.
