Jass looks about himself. He looks first one cautious way, then he looks another. Spying no authority that might pre-empt his next actions, the sorcerer reaches one hand into his robe and beckons to the quasit with the other. "Pssssst," says Jass to the quasit. And he takes his hand out if his robe with his thumb and forefinger shaped into a circle. "How'd you like to buy an 'O'?"

The look of surreptitious watchfulness then drops from the sorcerer's pale and progressively undead face to be replaced by a mischievous grin. "I'm called Jass of Downs. Looking to become the familiar of someone of power, I see. Yes? The dream of all little demons. No?"

How to deal with a demon? It's a question Jass muses to himself. "'Ware, Malgant," he thinks in reply to the Hand of Imod. "Some of these little ones have a natural affinity for telepathy. I wouldn't be so certain that they can't overhear our thoughts."

"How much do you want it, Little Quasit?" he says out loud, returning his attention to the demon. "Enough to betray the masters of this floating island? I'll tell you now, you can live for centuries and never have a better chance than this."

"Why don't we start with something simple, your name. What's your name? Then, tell us about the gazebo there. What awaits inside the Sanctum that surrounds it? Two simple questions to start you on the road to power. Can you take that step? Dare you take that step?"

Vorelle had half-intended to ask the little quasit how he'd like to become a Favored Enemy instead, but she supposed Jass's answer is better.

V instructions for the kindly DM: Highlight to display spoiler: {DM Steve, can Vauhwyt commmunicate via telepathy with the party? Can she use familiar-based empathy with Mookie? If so, Vauhwyt tells her friends via telepathy that she is exploring the woods. She understands, I think, that the party is negotiating with something? That gives her time to look around a little more. Or if her familiar empathy is working, she will communicate curiosity and lack of danger to Mookie, and expect him to communicate panic or danger if combat threatens.

She moves on in the Realm of Shadows, ethereally peeking into the Wold as she flits from tree shadow to tree shadow. She heads deeper into the wood, continuing to look around.

If she is completely out of touch, she will return, per her original plan, to the shelter before a full minute has elapsed.
