Some of you have indicated that you will head to the docks. So off you head. The League is located, as i am sure you remember, on the main road that runs through the heart of Rum City, from the docks in the south to the city gate up north. The road is full of carts, travelers, immigrants and workers. Flags are flapping in the breeze and stalls are being set up. Hot food and cooling drinks will be available for sale soon. Workers are preparing the area for the festivities.
The walk to the dock is crowded and you have to force your way through in parts. (perception check vs dc15 please, if heading to the docks.)
At the docks there are three competitions about to take place.
"Roll up, roll up one and all. Test your skills, prove your worth" calls a man in an unusually large striped jesters hat.
"Think you are strong? try the hammer game! Using the hammer, hit the board and ring the bell" a bald muscular man with a curly mustache demonstrates by hitting a red board on the ground causing a ball to rise into the air and ring a bell."Line up and test your might... if you are game?"
More of an acrobat? Try the high dive! Climb the mast of ship behind me and when it is your turn demonstrate your skills. You will be judged on grace and style.
All this physical activity getting you down? Why not try the potion test. Answer three questions and add the ingredients to the potion. Get all questions right and win a prize... get some wrong and, well, lets see what happens!
Some of the crowd move to the watch the spectacles and some even line up to test their skills... do you?
~~~~ ooc: sorry for missed post. I started a new job this week and my time is stretched ooc2: anyone heading to the catacombs? this downtime period may be coming to an end soon. ooc3: not going to the docks? tell me where you are going.
Aftr leaving th league Peza heads to the dking in the sitesocks .... hopefully with a a few friends in tow ... taking in th sights of the fast developing city ... all the newly built infrastructure ..
Things wrap up at the League, and the group starts to disburse. Brom heads out for himself. He wanders Rum taking in the sights and sounds of the small city. Sometimes he could close his eyes and he would be home.
Having spent quite a bit of time at the docks during his time in Rum, Brom finds himself there again, almost like his second home. At the docks, Brom sees the games, and Brom decides the game of strength sounds like fun. He steps up and says, "I'll take a turn."
Edson follows the others to the docks. The sash chafes him, but he still wears it diligently. He watches the spectacles, the mast dive catching his attention.
"I am going to try that one." He says as he points to the mast. He makes his way to sign up.
Harvest Moon (AC19/Touch18/FF15; CMD 22; HP HP 48/48) - Al Friday September 13th, 2013 8:21:11 AM
They have been so busy with so many things these past months. The frontier that they had seen upon first arriving is no longer recognizable as such. This is what Harvest Moon sees with her ever alert senses.
At the docks she queues up for the potion test, curious as to what it might be.
Harvest Moon cannot fail on a DC15 Perception check.
Barratore moves through the crowd, taking his time since he had plenty of it. He does not notice anything in particular as he does so. The city was indeed springing up fast things were going well. Arriving at the docks, Barratore finds a shady spot to hang out. Preferably one where drinks can be had outside. He leans back to relax a bit and people watch. Always an entertaining endevour.
When Brom arrives and steps up for the challenge of strength, Barratore steps up to go right behind him. STR check 16
Gerox decides to tag along to the docks. (perception 13) He stays in Barratore's wake as most part for the fearsome minotaur and the small gnome avoids getting trampled. He sits in the chair next to the big guy and orders a cider. He then looks around and decides to forego the different games. Potions have never been his strength and the other games are totally out of his league.
He does take a moment to pull out the stone that they received from the Cat Mother and really take a good look at it. He is soon lost in his study of it fascinated by its magic. (arcane check 25 to figure out what it is)
