The group pushes forward through the storm, arriving at the base of the hill that the church sits. Water flows freely down the hill, as it is a steep incline. At the top of the hill sits the church, Sam with the help of Zeoll can tell it is a temple for Alemi.

Terser pauses for a moment, and bangs loudly on one of the doors. For a second, nothing happens, but as he bangs the second time the door creeks open a little.

An older woman, dressed in a basic robe with a bandana wrapped around her head to hold her hair from her eyes, looks out the crack. Her gray hair, and fat cheeks give her a warmth of gentle older woman.

" Oh, by the heavens, why are you out in this mess. You will catch the death of a cold if you muck around in this. Who evers idea it was should get a good scolding, didn't your parents teach you to not to play in storms."

He's a bit surprised to find someone home with the state of the rest of the town, and even more surprised that this old woman would answer the door to a stranger. This town must normally be safe if she would open up like this.

Good morning, ma'am. Believe you me, I wouldn't be out and about without good reason. The beard gets tangled something awful in conditions like this. Do you mind if we ask a couple of questions? Something got everyone in the inn up in the middle of the night, and we couldn't find any of the employees, or anyone else in town until you so politely answered my knock. Do you know where they would go? Or where we can find someone of authority in town?

Kane' is content to let Terser ask the questions, as long as Captain Coer is also content. The half-elf glances at the large minotaur through the storm, and then back at the old woman. A cloud passes over his features as the woman asks if his parents had taught him to come in out of the rain. It makes the half-elf even less likely to open his mouth than usual.

Zeoll bows and says to the woman, "Grreetings, good lady. I am Zeoll, a humble adventurrerr. We arre looking forr help and inforrmation, and the House of Alemi seems to us to be a fairr place to ask ourr questions. Thank you forr yourr offerr of shelterr frrom the storrm."

Zeoll introduces everyone. He goes on to ask, diplomatically, about where everyone went, about the voice calling people into the sea, and about the strange weather.

OOC: Sorry for the misconception, but this woman is at one of the private homes Terser knocked on the door of. The Temple is at the top of the hill.

"Oh I am afraid you misunderstood me" the old lady says to the group. She puts her arm up to the wall, while keeping the door partially closed in front of you. " I didn't mean for you to come into my home, just that you should find a place to ride out the storm.

She looks over her shoulder, back into her house for a second before continuing, " I don't know what happened last night, but I was awaken when Joseph, that's my husband, was up and walking for the door. I figured he was getting up for his job as the docks, but then I noticed he still had his gown and cap on. He walked out into this deviled rain and it took me having to strike my husband for the first time in our many winters together. He awoke, but had no clue where he was or why he was out in his storm."

Taking another look back into her house over her shoulder, she adds " I really need to go. My breakfast is cooking, and I am still worried about my husband. The alderman should be at his home, and mother Rillan is surely at her home near the church. The townsfolk, are huddled in their homes like I was. We're used to these storms, and we just ride them out in a nice warm place, with some fish stew. I suggest you talk to the Alderman, or head back to the inn or your ship and ride this out. Should let up in a few hours and have no effect on the trade fair."

Sam and Zeoll get the idea she is telling the truth, and Jozhur and Coerator don't notice anything unusuall. Aexana smells a stong smell of some fish stew, but she also notes the smells of some baked goods eminating from the house.

The rain pours buckets on the Wold, as the wind whips up mist and sand and blows it around.

It's strange to say, but Terser is almost glad that the natives of the town seemed to be affected as well. Though it still doesn't explain the mystery of the missing innkeeper and his staff.

Thank you for your help, goodwife. We'll leave you to your breakfast. And you did the right thing, smacking your husband. If he or anyone else seems to be entranced, I encourage you to do it again, and let your neighbors know to do the same.

Satisfied if Sam is, Terser will leave the woman in peace and head up to the church with the others.

He walks on with his pals to the temple.

"If the temple is a bust," he muses, wiping rain out of his eyes and wringing out his tail-tuft, "then we can always trry the alderrman.

Like Terser, Zeoll is glad that the entire town is not disappeared. But he wonders what happened to the tavern staff.

Atop a high, rocky hill on the northwest side of town stands what is obviously a church. Constructed of heavy wood, it appears to have once been coated in a bright whitewash that has since largely peeled away. The great holy symbol atop the short steeple seems almost to be bleeding as it sheds the rain.

The path leading up the hill is steep, and has water cascading down from the torrential downpour. It is slippery to even look at, and looks like it will take a bit to climb the road.

OOC: Need a climb check(DC 10, with a -2 due to the water and wind). Also need the order your attempting to climb the path.

Long practice and formidable strength make even this slope only a minor ordeal. Terser forges his way up to the top and lets down a rope behind him to aid the others, pulling up those who are not able to make it on their own.

Through hard work, assistance from others, and a little song to help the group up, everyone manages to climb the wet hill. Standing at the top, catching your breath, the temple of Alemi stands before you. To the right of the temple, and slightly behind you can see a bit of the cemetery. To the left of the building is a smaller, residential type building. Though the door is shut, and the shutters pulled, you can see light through the cracks of the smaller building.

Boom. A thunderous bang echoes as a bolt of lightning crashes 30 yards away, tearing chunks of the earth and making you think how much it could do to a person(or shapeshifted dog.)

While the destroyed earth has your attention, the door to the private dwelling swings open. A tall women, so thin she looks starving stands in the doorway. A frown glued to her face.

" Can I help the lot of you crazy ones? You did notice we are having weather that makes for no playing around?"

Looking up thankfully to Jozhur, Aex-Wolf manages to get up on the hill. As she hears the woman asking if they enjoy playing outside in this tempest the wolf twists her head...

Only Zeoll understands the howling 'n growling : "Playing?!... Woman we've been out here looking to understand what unfolds here!! We've been trying to find the lot of ya! "

Kane' keeps his thoughts to himself, the others are doing fine and need no input from the BloodWitch. As the others speak, he does take the opportunity to scan the area for anything out of the ordinary after the close thunderstrike.

He also thinks over things he has learned to see if he knows of any constructs, dragons, magical beasts, outsiders, or undead that could have created the enchanting of the whole town.

"A little surprised to see anyone brave the storm after that horrible screeching last night!" Mother Rillan states to the group. "Did you hear that terrible noise? it was such a terrible, wicked thing, the likes of which I've never heard before! Some of the townsfolk came to check on me in the middle of the night after the sound. They said some members of their families awoke and were sleep walking. Scary thing it is, but by Alemi we got through it. "

"She crinkles her nose, when asked about the innkeeper. " I don't know where they could have gotten off to. Perhaps they went to check on a friend or something, and figured it was better to stay there then brave the storm back to the inn. "

"As for me, I have much to get ready for the Trade Fair, and I have little time to do it. I appreciate the fact you came up here to check on an old woman you don't even know, and it shows the kindness in your hearts, but I really am busy. I'd like to discuss some things outside Gullport, but now is not the time. After the fair, you are more then welcome to come back and we can have some tea and I will listen to your stories but for now I advise headed back to the inn or your ships and just brave the storm. It looks like it might let up soon and I have so much to do before the fair. "

Something doesn't add up to Jozhur when the Priestess speaks.
Nothing comes to Kane, other then it looks like a natural storm.
Aexana, Kane, and Jozhur notice the cemetery in the distance, looks overrun with weeds, and ivy as if it hasn't been used in a while.

Once out of earshot of the old woman, Spire will bring up to the group, "That is two people who have denied letting us inside their homes. I still am not convinced the people here are not connected to this. Especially Mother Rillan. Telling us to wait out the storm on our ships after last night is almost the same as telling us to go drown ourselves."

What reason would they have to let a bunch of heavily armed and bedraggled people into their private residences? It was nice enough of them to even open the door and talk with us. Unless we find a way to track down the innkeeper, I'm pretty well stumped. Maybe we should wait until night again and see if any of the entranced go anywhere else - following close by to make sure they don't hurt themselves of course.

Jozhur questions the priestess some more, "We're a little creeped out, can't really rest right now. Do you know what that noise was? Has that ever happened before?"

He also tries to let the others, or at least Sam, know that something is off about the priestess. He gets his message out, but he's not too subtle about it, "This place gives me the willies."

Having scooted closer to the house with Spire to escape the elements, Magana draws a deep breath to catch her scent, and takes advantage of this perspective to get a closer look at the woman.

Zeoll is not yet ready for the party to force their way into anyone's house. He suggests that they go visit the alderman and get an actual accounting there. And make sure they enter the building and check it out.

He's thinking that if he had his Charm Person spell, things would be a lot easier.

After Jozhur weakly passes his message, Sam does his best to read his new companion. He looks at the rogue's face. The bard sees the direction that his eyes dart, his slight shifts in body position, and how his voice subtlety changes as he attempts to convey the warning. (Sense motive=31...nat 20! Welcome to my haunted dice.)

After figuring out that something is wrong with Jozhur and all finish their questions, Sam decides to use a little more "effort" to harmlessly "extract" the information. He stares into her eyes as he speaks. His voice takes on a nearly hypnotic tone that makes even the strongest of the party's minds buzz a bit.

"Tell us everything you know regarding the strange sound and the disappearing villagers. Your information will benefit all who live here and might save many lives."

Kane' is more interested in the cemetery than an old woman who won't let muddy well-armed strangers into her home. Now why would a thriving port have no need for an active cemetery?

The BloodWitch wanders off that way while the others are speaking with the woman. Maybe it is only the part he can see? Maybe... well enough with speculation, he will find out soon enough. "Is this the old cemetary? Perhaps there is a newer one?", Kane' calls over his shoulder as he moves towards the unkept plot.

The Aex-Wolf slowly feels her paws sink deeper and deeper in the mud. She's allready soaked by the rain so that can't get any worse...
Standing close to the door she once again tries to catch a scent of the inn-keeper. If that doesn't end up positive there's probably only a rturn trip ahead of her...

"A warm bath and cosy bed is all I need now friend... nobody in this town seems to be worried so let's wait till the weather improoves...", she growls to Zeoll who is the only one to understand her.

Mother Rillan stares for a few seconds, blankly at the group. Her mouth opens to speak...

BOOM!
Another bolt of lightning destroys the ground in the distance, as the cold rain pelts down on the group.

She shakes her head, but continues forward.

"Some of the villagers came to my house in the middle of the night to tell me their family members awoke to that damn sound, and headed to the water to die. Some of them were able to awake their loved ones, and the others..." she trails off.

"Well, we will have to prepare for some funerals after the trade fair. As for that noise, I have no godly idea of what it was. I just know it wasn't natural, and some people died for it."

"We will open the church up a little later, to let some of the villagers gather and pay some respects for their loved ones. You should go relax, and get out of this rain until then. It would be good for the villagers see that your concerned about them, and not just here for the fair."

"Why, if you knew we were seriously looking to help the townspeople, would you give us some cheery, naive greeting if you knew the horrors that occurred tonight? What are you hiding? Did you have something to do with this or are you protecting someone else?"

The gnome clenches his tiny fists in anger. As an member of the once mighty (and existant) Grim Guard, the bard has little patience for individuals who would interfere with good and just pursuits. It is clear, especially to Terser, that Sam is on the verge of acting on his anger.

Magana's patience with the wind and rain begins to wear thin and she evaluates the old woman. How tough could the old priestess be? A surprise attack should prevent her from calling her deity for help. Not a very honorable thing to do though. She carefully weighs the cost of a such an act against the pleasure of a warm fire. A toasty, glowing warmth that sinks into her fur..... ahhhhh..... a little mulled wine to go with it..... mmmmm..... She indulges in a small fantasy wherein she is roasting the old bitty on a spit over that same fire.... ooooh..... she starts salivate just a little.

The woman is shocked when Magana presses by her into her own home. But the look she casts at Sam shows her true feelings.

"You dare accuse me, a priestess of Alemi of some misdeed. As if I would harm the people of this town. I am the spiritual leader of the people of Gullport, and each and everyone of them is loved by me. When you came knocking on my door, I didn't know what you were doing. You mentioned you were looking for the villagers, and that is when I informed you of the peril some of them encountered. When you knocked I figured you were going to tell me you befell the noise, and lost a friend. I do notice you didn't mention losing any of your friends. Seems a little odd."

As Magana passes her, she enters a single room. In the middle of the wall is a giant fireplace, with a redish stew cooking in a pot. Sitting on the mantle of the fireplace, is a fat, gray cat lazily sleeping. A padded chair sits in the corner, with a stepstool in front of it. A book titled "The fat lady and the Ship" dog-eared, and sitting on the seat of the chair. On the opposite wall of the entrance is another door, that Magana can assume leads to sleeping quarters.

" Were you never taught manners" the woman yells to Magana, " perhaps you were raised just to barge into peoples homes. Perhaps I'll join the lot of you and we can head to the Alderman's house and tell him how you entered my home without permission."

When Zeoll tries to be dipliomatic, the priestess turns back to him, with a disdainful look. " Zip it, your as much a part of this as them."

Sam sharply retorts, "Evil can take any form. Corruption exists in all corners of the Wold. Terser and I have seen just about everything this land has to offer. Let me assure you of this: We don't lay down for anyone when innocents are in peril. Mark my words priestess; the guilty party WILL be found and dealt with."

"My spell failed for one of two reasons. She either resisted it or giving us the information would put her in harm's way. But which is true?..."

With that, the gnome turns his attention to his brother. He awaits his and others' decisions. The gnome sees the priestess as a possible suspect, but lacks the proof to finally accuse her of the deed.

Ooc to DM: Does Sam's high sense motive roll provide any further info?

Jozhur was starting to let his guard down and is a little taken aback when Magana just barges into the woman's home. Is the Taur losing it? Charging an unseen enemy on the docks, and now this?

He gets closer to the priestess and keeps his hands up and moving as he speaks, trying to hold her attention off Magana. He does his best to act distraught, which doesn't take much acting after last night.

"Please excuse our friend. Last night's events have taken their toll on us. I don't think any of us got much sleep. And she was never quite right in the head anyways...I'm sure she means nothing by it."

"We couldn't possibly rest after what happened. A lot of people drowned in the sea, I've never seen anything like it. We were worried others could be in danger or that it would happen again."

Magana throws open the door to reveal a bedroom. Taking up most of the area in the small room is a bed. Too the side is a dresser, some drawers open with clothes folded inside. Not trap doors, no traps, no hidden compartments in either room. The house is that of an old priestess.

" That's enough" the woman yells, almost matching the loudness of the thunder outside. " You have stormed through my house like some half witted burglar. Enough is and enough and I want you all to leave now."

" And you, " she says to Sam " If I wasn't a priestess, I would tell you exactly what i think of you. The temple isn't open, and if I catch you sniffing around there you better believe I will go right to the alderman with the news. You and your friends were invited to our town, and this is the treatment you cater to us."

Aexana doesn't smell anything different. The house smells as she figures it would.

The priestess looks at Sam, and nods. " I understand, I am on edge as well. Please don't hold this against me or the villagers of Gullport. In fact when the fair is over, please find me at the temple and we can put this little tussle behind us. Until then, take care and get out of this weather."

Once everyone is out the door, she gently shuts it behind them. As gentle as she is, the Wold is the opposite. Thunder, Freezing Rain, Hail, and Lightning pelt down on the ground, and those standing on it. The wind whips up mud and dirt, from the ground and slings it around sometimes finding an exposed piece of skin, or worse and eye. Mostly just slinging water and mud across the wold itself.

Sam wants to stay and watch the woman, to make sure nothing odd goes on, while Zeoll wants to visit the alderman's house.

Making sure no one outside the group is in earshot, Sam quietly says to Terser,"I'm staying here. I'm going to hide and observe the area around the church from the cemetery. I'll catch up with the group if I find anything out."

Sam hums a tune, winks at Terser, and vanishes. (Cast invisibility on self)

He faithfully translates what Aex says to him, shouting over the wind. "Well, the Alderrman is on the way back, so we might as well knock. I think I agrree, with you, though. If we get no satisfaction frrom, him, we should just hunkerr down and rride this out!"

The wet gnome admires his new form. Unfortuneatly, everyone else can only see the outline of his new form (because of all the rain). He makes his way through the wet ground towards the cemetery. The drenched invisi-gnomataur finds a place amongst the graves that might provide some shelter from the elements.

Sam finds a spot to hide in the cemetery, the spongy ground is soaked as much as the gnomes cloak. His invisible form is impossible to see. The time passes but nothing comes about that strikes Sam as odd. Nothing comes from the priestess' house, no one goes to the house. It is as dead as the corpses buried in the ground Sam stands on.

the others make their way down the slick hill, skirting the deep puddles and streams of water. At the aldermans house, they can tell the man has some money. His house is the nicest in the town, and is well decorated.Three knocks from Coerator, and then it is only the sound of the rain and hail banging on the roof. Finally, the door cracks open, to reveal a finely dressed man.

"May I help you? The alderman is tied up at the moment, and will be ready in a brief moment."

The now visible, but still hidden Sam waits for some sign of life from the "field" of the dead. As nothing stirs in this area, he wonders what could be happening aside from the storm to cause such stillness in the surrounding area.

Magana chuckles to herself as Spire slyly blocks her from gaining entrance to the house. Since he clearly sees no danger from that direction, Magana turns to watch their backs and scans the surrounding area for danger.

Zeoll steps forward. He spends a full minute talking to the fellow. He explains that he and his group are adventurers and do-gooders. That the party is trying to help this town with its fair, and more importantly, to figure out what it is that is luring innocents to their deaths with unearthly calls.

Zeoll appeals to the fellow's better nature, his sense of civic duty, and his pride of place.

Then he asks the fellow for just a few more moments of his time.

He also introduces himself and his friends, and asks the man's name.

He mentions that the tavernkeeper and his daughter have gone missing, and that they are very concerned.

OOC: This is an attempt to change the fellow's attitude. Zeoll'd diplomacy roll to do so is a roll at +12. He hopes his friends will aid another in his attempt. ROLL: 16! Ugh!

The liontaur senses the man's interest waning and tries again with a heroic effort. This time he rolls a 20.

Kane stays at a safe distance from both the door and Terser. The shy half-elf eyes the new member of the group with caution. His thoughts quickly turn to the well-dressed man at the door. The blood witch does his best to pick out any distinguishing details on the the fellow, but a lightning strike causes him to divert his attention to the storm. (Perception=10. Nat 1.)

"The alderman will be shocked and honored anyone would brave the storm after that horrible screeching last night! It truly was a terrible thing to hear. I hope and pray you are all alright, and befell no calamity."

The butler steps aside, opening the door into a little foyer area.

"Please, the alderman will be right here. Do get out of the rain."

After a few beats of your heart, and more rain and wind stirring up the alderman makes his presence through the other end of the foyer. Behind him are four guards, who hang back and let the alderman move towards you.

" Please don't tell me you Lords and Ladies are giving up on the trade fair. "the alderman says as he makes his entrance. "One second, Benedict please see to Lady Bittern."

The butler bows to the group, before moving away passed the guards and into the house.

"Good man that Benedict," the Alderman says " now please tell me your group is ok after hearing that terrible noise last night. That was such terrible, wicked thing, the likes of which I've never heard before!" I was barely able to keep my wife from walking out into the storm and I immediately decided that discretion was the better part of valor--I plan on remaining safely within my house until at least the rainstorm clears out and the light of day can calm all irrationalities."

" I would hate for you to drop out, or worse have anything befell you before it even starts. I'd offer for you to stay here until the storm passes, but my wife isn't a big fan of company. Still concerned about the priestess and wanting to catch her in the act, Sam continues slinking around the church. He does his best to detect signs of activity in the building (torch/candle light or any noise) on the way back to his hiding spot in the cemetery. (Perception=28. Nat 20! Lol! Go haunted dice, go!)

If nothing major is discovered he continues general surveillance of the area from the cemetery. Sam hides in his cloak of resistance, which is minimally helpful with dealing with the storm. The gnome hums quietly to himself to try to ignore the numbness of his cold nose, ears and digits.

Zeoll and Kane get a feeling his answers are a little too sharp and easily given, as for Terser, the guards are equipped as general city guards. A light chain mail, and short swords, bucklers on their arms.

"No, no one on this island has heard that noise before. I don't know what in the world it was or could be. It is damned evil if you ask me though, to make innocent men and women walk to their deaths." he answers to Zeoll.

" I truly hope the innkeeper and his family are alright, they are good people and helped with the rooms for the trade fair. "
"Ehh... I invited you in, but your pets should stay outside" he adds pointing to Aexana. "This floor is imported marble, and I don't want it ruined by the pet ... oh, now your wolf is cleaning up her own mess, how unique. Well, this is about all the time I have, as I do have some final touches on the trade fair to put down, and make sure we honor those we lost. If you would be so kind to show yourselves out."

Sam notices no sign of human(or other) life in the church, and no action comes from the priestess' home. Making his way back to the hiding spot in the cemetery, he notices the stones marking the graves. No dates are stamped with the past couple of years, and most are worn and fading.

As the group leaves the building, Zeoll shrugs. "We trry things. Sometimes they even worrk."

That gives him an idea. Sacrificing a second level "Calm Emotions" spell ("This place is too calm," mutters Zeoll), the old liontaur casts a Summon Fey Friend II spell.

Rolling randomly to see what manner of creature is called from the Wold's Cradle ... d10 = 8 (sorry, ignore d20 roll!).

The creature called is an evil Twigjack! Zeoll tries to be diplomatic. "In King Eberyon's name, please do me a small favor. There are undead around here that we have fought. Please see if you can find any undead anywhere around, or a place you think they came from, and come back and tell me about it if you find anything. Thank you!"

Zeoll wonders what will happen and how the fey will react. The duration is only three rounds.

The group is escorted to the door, and show the fine weather of Gullport one more time. The wind has especially picked up, and Zeoll's new friend doesn't take to kindly to the torrential downpour coming down on his head. He doesn't delay his service and heads out to look for the undead, or a place they come from.

A decision to pick up Sam is made, and the group heads back up to the cemetery. Sam is in the middle of trying to recall what he knows about Alemi, and he does know they bury their dead, even if they were controlled. Also he knows that they take care of those with mental problems, and even open sanitariums sometimes.

When the group is back together, the twigjack makes his reappearance. His body is soaked through from the rain, but still a wicked smile is etched on his face.

"Old fool, there are no undead in this town besides your decrepit remains. Why not do everyone a favor and swim out in the bay and prove how much cats hate water. Till we meet again old man." With the final barb thrown, the twigjack turns and disapears into the overgrown brush in the cemetery.

"No signs of movement from the priestess' house or the general surrounding area. The church is locked up tight. One curious thing I found while getting rained on out here: there are no new graves in this cemetery. I'm not sure why that is yet, but it seems to me the priestess might know the answer. What did you find?"

Sam shivers as he moves closer to Terser in an attempt to get cover under his large friend.

It seems all the townsfolk had problems with the nocturnal voices, but none seem to keen on investigating where it came from and why it happened. I suspect it may have happened before, as most were able to shake (or slap) their affected loved ones out of the trance and then go back to bed. There is still no information on the innkeeper or the other employees, though we have a free tab for anything we like at the inn, thanks to the Alderman.

With Gullport being so secluded there is not a lot of info for Sam to recall. What he does remember hearing is Lady Bittern is a middle-aged woman who married the most powerful/richest man in Gullport, She is also popular for her parties and gatherings.

After a brief discussion, it is decided to check out the ships on the docks. Making their way down the slippery hill, the group starts heading back towards the inn, to catch a side street for the docks. As they pass the ash grove that Zeoll slept in......

The hairs on the back of your neck stand up as you register something else mixing into the sounds of the wind, the rain and the thunder--a horribly familiar keen...the stuff of nightmares...

...the sound that woke you up last night...

Terser has almost been expecting this to happen, and it is almost a relief to hear the noise, though that does little to appease the anger he feels at the repeated intrusion upon his mind.

Sam doesn't recall anything about the sound, or if it is even magical.

Magana comes to her senses with a bloody taste in her mouth, and Zeoll informs the others about the movement he saw in the woods while not alerting anyone that he knows. Zeoll and Terser are both turned invisible.

The rain and win obscure the edge of the woods for most, but as quick as the rain changes direction the woods erupt in two spots. A bit north of the group, and a bit south catching the group in a pincer attack. Zeoll, Coer, Aexana, and Magana notice a brief movement still in the woods as if someone stayed behind.

OOC: Now folks, we come to what I like to call me exploring the use of maptools, and getting extremely frustrated. I am still playing around with it, so bare with me and I swear I will get better.

Terser finds himself invisible for the first time, and it is a strange experience. He calms for a moment, and has to suppress a giggle at the thoughts of pranks that he might accomplish had the situation allowed it. He recovers his composure quickly, however, and sets off with some care to investigate the grove that everyone seems to think contains some sort of evil presence.

Invisible Zeoll stops being invisible as soon as he casts his Calm Emotions spell on the group of creatures to the south of him.

Calm Emotions: "This spell calms agitated creatures. You have no control over the affected creatures, but calm emotions can stop raging creatures from fighting or joyous ones from reveling. Creatures so affected cannot take violent actions (although they can defend themselves) or do anything destructive. Any aggressive action against or damage dealt to a calmed creature immediately breaks the spell on all calmed creatures."

Zeoll calls out, "DO NOT ATTACK any of the ones to the south unless they attack firrst!"

With his remaining move action, he becomes invisible again. Then he takes a five foot step to 76-CR. Untrained Stealth check with +20 for being invisible and -9 armor check penalty and +2 race and +2 dex = 27.

Zeoll keeps his eyes and ears open: Perception 27

He also keeps his nose open -- using Scent to detect unseen creatures close by.

He wishes he had cast his Mage Armor before now!

Aexana squeezes past her friends and was hoping to catch Coer before he hurls himself onto the new arrivals... she would have cast Barkskin but he's already gone when she get's there. Aex arrives at CN78.
As such she checks who's threathening Coer and casts Storm Burst on CN84...

Zeoll appears, casts a spell, and then turns invisible again.

Coer moves up and uses the attacker as a punching bag, making contact. The man looks bad, but still stands.

Sam starts singing and inspires courage in the group.

Aexana brings down some more rain and wind(as if more was needed) and buffets one of the men still in the ash grove.

Magana is overjoyed with the thought of a fight and charges forward, swinging her flail at the man Coer just stunned. His skull does little to prevent the spinning ball from crushing in his brain as he drops right where he stands.

Spire casts Mage Armor on himself

Jozhur moves into position and awaits an attack.

Kane scans for any signs of spell attacks....

The man dropping dead in front of them does little to scare the men rushing at Coer and Magana.

Baddie 2 moves up to confront Coer. Coer swings, but the man steps under the punch and presses into the minotaur.(Hit Ac13)

Baddie 3 moves up to take on Magana. The ichor and gore from his friend still wet on her flail is of no concern to the man. Magana connects(Ac 29, 17 Dmg) the advancing fighter, buckling his knees but not dropping him.

Baddie 4 moves up to help his friend with Magana, but is surprised when an invisible Terser comes to view and swings at him as he advances.(Hit Ac 28, 13 dmg)

The southern group charges, no effect from Zeoll's spell.

Baddie 5 charges at Jozhur unaware that Zeoll is inbetween them(AOO for Zeoll?)

Baddie 7 and 8 run at Kane, figuring to harm the spellcaster. Kane and Spire both get AOO but I dont see a melee weapon for Spire. Kane gives Baddie 7 a lump with his sap(Hot ac 21, 1 NL dmg).

Seeing that his position is secured by the group, Sam holds his ground as the two enemy forces charge. The bard continues yelling words that will hopefully guide the team to victory.

Sam casts his hold person, and Baddie 8 stops moving at once, held. He doesn't think these men are any group, but they do look like some of the villagers from around town.

Coer strikes in a flurry of blows, connecting once on the man in front of him. The strikes rocks him, but he still presses forward.He thrusts a beautiful cutlass through Coer's defense, finding a piece of flesh.(4 DMG)

Jozhur's feint is succesful, and makes it easier to hit the Baddie. His sword punctures the man, who winces and begins to think this attack wasn't planned out as well as it should. OOC: I am looking at the feinting rules, I don't see were it adds dmg, but I did include it because I am sure I missed it.

Magana's flail finishes off baddie 3 before he even had a chance to pull his sword out of the sheath. Not stopping with him, she spins and unleashes another shot at Baddie 9. The power in her flail strikes the man, spinning him completely around before her horn punctures through his back and easily passing through his chest. Another one dead with his sword still in the sheath.

Terser steps back to gain the advantage of reach. An advantage it is, as he easily cleaves into the mans side only stopping on his spine. Blood and air press through the gaping wound, and the man only has enough time left to die. He sees movement to the corner, but cannot tell who is casting the spell.

Kane steps back and casts his spell. The one who was damaged by Jozhur is unaffected, but Baddie 7 drops to the ground and begins dreaming. He can tell these man are not affected by any magic.

Spire casts Acid Arrow, but the bolt misses Baddie 6.

Zeoll's spell finally kicks in, and effects some of the attackers. Baddie 5 is the only one of the four not effected. Baddie 5 lunges at Zeoll but comes up short.

2 more bolts of force erupt from the woods.

@DM I seem to have given wrong coordinates last post for Aex could never have moved that far... She should have been at CN78 instead of CN89.
Also, did the Non-Lethal damage from the Storm burst Aex launched in Round 1 have any effect? I can't see Baddie CN84 in the list which is the one she attacked in R1

As the foes around the main body of the group seem well in hand, Terser moves to see if he can discover the source of the bolts hitting Magana. (move northeast up to 3 squares - perception 13)

If he finds the caster, he will unload a strike, and watch for them to try another spell to take another.

Attack vs caster if I found him/her - AC19 for 20 damage
If they cast again - AOO vs AC 22 for 19 damage

The elf reminds himself to thank the gnome and, seeing that their foes to the south have been pacified, moves north behind his larger allies. He utters a short prayer and glares at #6, casting Doom.
