Harvest Moon hopes fortune is with the League Adventurers and that the statues will not pursue beyond this point. Or, at the very least, hopefully, not out into the sunlight beyond the opening of the cave. Come, we will soon be out of this place," calls Harvest Moon to the sailors. She moves past the Statue that stands upon the ceiling, leading the way swiftly down the tunnel before stopping to wait upon those slower than her.
With some of his spirit back Murag grabs Edson and says. "We go now." The Orc travels as fast as the rogue can while looking up. Although several of the league adventurer's find themselves forced to blink as they make their way out of the cave, and Brom, tired of trying not to blink closes bis eyes and takes another shot at the bleeding statue. "You'll see Brom is a meal that bites back! Come again, if ya dare!" - Brom's swings fiercely, but without seeing his target he fails to connect. With the entrance of the cave now secure you are able to fight your way out of the cave without succumbing to the statues attacks and soon find yourselves back on the beach. To your relief the statues do not pursue, perhaps unwilling to leave the cover of darkness or perhaps bound to the cave itself.
Back on the shore the sailors walk over to their ships, once again examining the damage and looking for a way to repair the holes so they can get safely off the island.
Ooc: With the majority of the group within running distance of the cave entrance or easily able to get to the last passage where you are able to stare down the last tunnel to prevent being followed I went ahead and moved you out of the cave.

She has been snappish and irritable since the conundrum of why the crews of the fishing boats would have all entered the cave. Now, Harvest Moon rounds upon the sailor who suggests that the League Adventurers go back in to face the Statues in order to retrieve the gold.
"You are foolish!" chides Harvest Moon. With one hand upon a hip she wags an admonishing finger at the man. "We entered that cave for one reason. That reason was to save your lives. What use is gold if you have no life to spend it? And now you wish us to enter again? For what? Gold?" Harvest Moon spits.
"You, go to the SeaSprite. It is anchored off shore." With a tightlipped look of disapproval she turns from the foolish man, dismissing him with her demeanor. Then she turns to her fellow League Adventurer.
"Barratore Steelwind is right, I think. I know these Statues, Zalmay Tufan," she says. "They are of the demesnes of Earth. The Earth favors them. I think that, even were we to collapse the cave, they would find their way out. They are a danger, and we must slay them to keep Rum safe. I think also," she says with a frown, "that we must discover why it is that they are protecting this gold. All creatures are free to roam as they might. Why do these remain here? Is there a power that holds them to this cave? And if there is such a power, might it someday threaten Rum?"
"Yes. I think we must re-enter." Harvest Moon nods and then walks up the slope of the beach toward the cave. From her haversack she takes a pearl and wills it to recall her magic. "This time, though. We will go in prepared."

The sailors looks worriedly about the shore, ever afraid that the weeping women will pursue them outside the confines of the cave. Yet despite their fears they are reluctant to leave their ships and livelihood behind on the beach. The repairs would take several hours, but the work would no be difficult. It would mostly consist of draining the water the ships took on and repairing the holes the rocks of the cove left in their hulls, a task the sailors could not complete due to lack of wood on the island, but one which could be done with the groups help.
As the fishermen mill about Barratore looks to Brom and then to the cave...The sailors for now were safe, but if 3 ships came here by the winds and current, it stood to reason to Barratore that any other ship in trouble in these waters would arrive at these shores. "We GO!" From up the hill Harvest Moon shouts loudly.
"Rest only long enough so that your eyes might no longer blink," she continues. "Once within the cavern, we will look in all directions again as before. Once a Statue appears, one of us will make it stop with a gaze. The others will fall upon the Statue together and slay it."

He tosses his torch in the sand and cracks a sun rod instead. He draws his BAS and walks into the cave.

The league adventurer's quickly cast their spells in preparation for entering the cave. You are fairly certain that you can take the weeping women out if you enter the battle on your terms, taking them on one at a time and not letting them sneak up on you. Plan in hand you march forward, everyone entering at once, and most everyone facing forward.
ooc: Please give me a marching order, and what direction you are looking, otherwise I will assume you are facing forward.
Harvest Moon (AC22/Touch21/FF18; CMD 26; HP HP 57/57) - Al Thursday May 1st, 2014 3:39:29 PM
It is entirely possible that the Statues might cluster at the last place they had found food. The may be at the exit to the tunnel. Whether they might purposefully wait there for someone to return is a question that might not be answered. And yet, the chances that they could be there are reasonably high.
Harvest Moon leads the way. She moves with great deliberation. Even a little noise. With the light upon her forehead and a small tuneless song on her lips, the small half-elfish girl draws great attention to herself. She will be the paw of the cat. She will draw the Statues to herself. Let them come attack her. Then the other League Adventurers might fall upon them and slay them. With her defenses about her, the Statues will be hard pressed to strike her. They will be hard pressed to even touch her.

Quickly you organize yourselves and proceed into the cave, several sets of eyes looking forward while others scan the ceiling and the rear. From the second you enter the cave mouth everyone's attention is focused on the encroaching darkness, Harvest Moon fearing it possible that the Statues might cluster at the last place they had found food, and that they may be at the exit to the tunnel.
Peza calls up to the others as she brings up the rear, "Remember ... if you see something ... say something .... if you need help speak up .... its dark in there ... its vital to communicate" Ahead of her the elven girl leads the way.
Next to her Brom stands raging mad and itching for a fight. He was purposefully being reckless because he wanted the statues to attack. He even does so much as to bite a chunk of tobacco and begin to chew, spitting loudly as he walked. Suddenly, directly in front of him materializes the woman's form of sculpture streaked with a red marble, the marred appearance only serving to further fill one with horror and loathing. As the two closest statues come into focus there is a blur of motion behind them as two forms fade into the shadows beyond.

DM James Monday May 12th, 2014 10:15:26 PM "We have two!" calls out Harvest Moon. "Strike them down!" She then skirts around the statue that is frozen by the gaze of so many League Adventurers. Keeping up her defenses, she moves further down the tunnel to the East chamber, expecting to find the alter yet finding only a dead end. (The alter is still further south / down).
Having spotted the second statue Peza intones "Illuminate" as she faerie fires the the one who just attacked Gerox "Thats it keeping moving .... force them to attack .... force them to show themselves ... the boys will smash em up " The raven haired girl keeps her eyes upward ... eying the ceiling ...
Zalmay continues to scowl at the statues as Brom and Barratore pummel them. The hald-orc cannot help but think If looks could kill? Well, this time they can... as minotaur fighter strikes out the stone lady, severing her stone arms. This was no longer a combat, merely extermination. Murag grins as his sword is put to such devastating use and watches the flank, cautious at how easy this as been. Caught unprepared the statues had been deadly, but a little preparation and planning turned the tables on the weeping women. DM James Friday May 16th, 2014 4:50:55 PM
Unsure if the statues truly been defeated Harvest Moon leads the way into the Chamber of the Altar with a wary eye and much suspicion. Her nose leads the way, like a curious cat, as though through scent alone, she might unravel its mysteries. Her path defines a circle with the altar at its center as her keen eyes examine every aspect of it. "This altar," she growls, "must belong to someone. This someone was strong enough to bind the statues to this place, that is dangerous." Putting her keen mind to the task she believes it is some how related to the Sea Hags she has heard old sailors talk about, perhaps some ancient deity they revered, but judging by the state of the cave any such worship must have ended aeons ago in one of the older ages of the Wold.
"Looks like our resident muscle handled everything as usual." Edson says as he moves closer to the treasure, his eyes focusing on a 6 ½ foot bastard sword, the blade longer than he is. "You're up Edson." Barratore says as he toes the rubble of the last statue with his hoof and looks to the altar and treasure. He had a solution for the altar already, but wasn't about to put it in practice until Edson had gone over it to make sure nothing would be exploding or filling his chest with darts or any other nasty trap.
Stepping near the pile of treasure, Peza pauses a moment before agreeing with Barratore. " I think we should have Edson and the mages check for traps and tricks. Then we can sort through everything .... figure out what we have here " When the others speak Edson turns his mind to the task at hand. About time I'm needed. I was beginning to learn magic since I was spending so much time with the magic users. Quickly he moves about looking for traps, but to no avail. This doesn't surprise him, as he is fairly certain the weeping women were all the trap the Sea Hags needed.
"I wonder what all this is for? Why have a sanctuary and an altar way out here in the middle of nowhere? Is there some kind of secret cult active in Rum? Or for all we know this place could have been undisturbed for a hundred years..." Zalmay circles the altar, looking for clues or signs of magic but being careful not to touch anything or get too close...his careful inspection leading his to believe the groups earlier beliefs were likely correct. The island often flooded or was submerged from time to time and this was likely the alter of a long lost Sea Hags culture that long since stopped visiting the cave.
Behind him Murag follows the others. He quickly glances at Barratore holding the adamantine sword, but decides its better to let the Minotaur keep it while they are in the cave. "If there is magic trap let Murag know." He says as he carefully studies the alter, treasure and chamber with magical sight. The Half-Orc says to the group. Instantly he spots an aura of magic coming from the treasure, but the rest of the chamber is clear. "Murag have spell to get rid of magic if need it." he adds.
Despite the evidence to the contrary, Gerox has his doubts. "I wonder if it could have been the Beastlords. We haven't seen signs of them in a while. This would seem like something they might do."
As the others ponder the meaning Brom continues watching to make sure nothing sneaks up behind you.

"Lets get this stuff and get out of here. This place makes my skin crawl." Gerox says as he casts and scan the treasure along with the rest of the cavern looking for anything magical. Peza agrees with Gerox decision and after the area has een declared free of traps she begins directing the League Adventurer's. "Ok lets get this treasure loaded up and out to the ship ... get these fisherman back to their family's. We can evaluate the stuff aboard ship ... figure out whats what."
As the treasure is loaded up Harvest Moon shares what she can about the altar. "It was, I think, an altar of the Sea Hags when once the Sea Hags lived in this place. Do you see how aged it is. None have come here for years upon years. It is harmless now, I think. And yet, it is best not to leave such a thing as this standing." Having said this, Harvest Moon stands away to see the thing done.
That was just the thing Brom had been waiting for, and with Edson's confirmation that the altar doesn't have any traps (or scream in agony to indicate he set one off) he bull rushes the statue atop the altar and hits it with his sword as it topples over, its head neatly separated from its shoulders as it crashes into the wall behind it.
As the treasure is gathered up Brom looks over the large dark green sword, the likes of which he has never seen before. As he picks it up and feels the incredible weight of the smooth metal there is no doubt in his mind that it is some type of adamantine, forged from metal mined from rocks that fell from the heavens. Among the rest of the treasure is a mithral enameled the color of jade whose dark lines seem to dance in the torchlight causing it to melt into the shadows. All around the altar are piles of gold coins, a feather with a magical aura, and several small jade statues carved in the form of sea hags (treat as gems / precious stones). Close by them is an intricately carved helmet with crystalline lenses over the eyes...the previous owner's skull falling out as you pick it up.
Once the treasure is packed into sacks and bags you make your way back out of the cave, the journey much more uneventful than the one to the altar. In a matter of minutes you find yourselves back on the beach were the fishermen stand wandering about their boats trying desperately to find a way to repair them, using floor boards from the deck to patch up holes and other temporary repairs that could easily have been taken care of with a mending cantrip, but even such mundane magic is beyond the skill of the simple fisher folk and they were determined not to leave their boats, their livelihood, behind if they could help it.

After an hour of hard work the ships are once again seaworthy and the ships begin making their way back to Rum, sailing as a group to avoid any unexpected surprises. You can feel the stress of the day melt away as you sail, the sea water calm and serene. Harvest Moon (AC22/Touch21/FF18; CMD 26; HP HP 57/57) - Al Tuesday May 20th, 2014 1:57:01 PM
Harvest Moon scampers up the ratlines to her place in the crows nest. It is not so much that vigilance is so necessary now, but, rather, it is a good place to be by herself. Her only company here is the sky.

With the aid of guidance Murag's Guidance Zalmay set to work identifying the magical items on the deck as the others keep an eye out for danger or admire the inner beauty of a newly tapped keg. One by one he lifts the items into the air, his eyes going out of focus as they train themselves o upon the intangible auras surrounding the various items. The Mithra shirt, enameled green, he finds has been magically enhanced, not only with a +1 enhancement bonus, but with the shadow ability as well. Setting it aside he picks up the enormous adamatine bastard sword which also radiates with a +1 enhancement. The magic helm with the crystalline eyes he determines to be a helm of underwater action. Next to him Edson separates the stones and gems into piles, holding each to the light as he examines their cuts and looks for flaws. 8 pieces of Tourmaline worth 810gp, 3 large Hematite worth 80gp, 10 Peridot 44gp, a Citrine 23gp, a Sardonyx 16gp, two Jade Bracelets 230gp, Hematite 5gp, and a piece of dark Obsidian 1gp (1,218gp total) and jade statues worth 11,000 to the right collector. Brom the Barbarian - RichP; AC: 22 (T 13, FF 22, Raged 20), CMD: 25 (27 Raged); HP: 74/78 (88/92 Raged); DR 1/- Wednesday May 21st, 2014 10:34:33 PM
OOC: was the sword large-sized?
Brom cares little for the items. He was happy with his own armor, and the helm was not his style. He was happy to just get coin for his efforts. The six-and-a-half foot sword was too large for him. He was very interested in the metal it is made from describes the properties of such metal and weapons made of it. "If only it had been a large sword or axe."
Brom spends the evening drinking and drinking and drinking and drinking. In his drunken state, the barbarian finds a good spot to sit. While looking about and making merriment with shouts and song, he occasionally looks up to the crows nest to see Harvest looking down at the crew and companions. He lets out a great "Bah!" and a wave of his hand at her as if to bat her away from a distance.
DM James Yes, the sword is large sized.
Barratore Steelwind (Dan K) AC: 29 (T 14 FF 26), CMD: 25; HP: 73/73Character Sheet Thursday May 22nd, 2014 12:50:57 AM
Barratore's blade was magical as well, and had been blessed by Imod. Well as far as Barratore was concerned it had been and really that was what counted. "If you're going to keep pretending to be a warrior, than you definitely want the armor Edson."
The helm was intriguing, but Barratore hoped to never have a need for something of that nature. If the need arose, he would deal with it then.

The trip back to Rum seems to fly by as visions of shining gems and gold coins flood your imagination. You can already feel it burning a hole in your pocket as you envision a trip to the catacombs in your near future. In no time you find yourself pulling into the dock at Rum, a make shift armada with the fishing boats following close behind you. The sky is dark over head, but the pier is a blaze with torches lighting the way from the pier to the Squid's Ink Tavern. At the end of the dock Barnacle Jane stands, more beautiful than ever with her fiery hair illuminated in the flickering flames. A roar of cheers and applause come from her crew and several other local fishermen, business owners, and the sailor's wives and children.
As you disembark Jane hands you a large bag of gold coins. As I told you before, we look after our own and do right by those that do right by us. The bag contains 10,000 gp, enough to buy a new ship. She then leads you and the lost fishermen to the tavern to hear what happened and how you got them all back.

Harvest Moon (AC22/Touch21/FF18; CMD 26; HP HP 57/57) - Al Friday May 23rd, 2014 10:11:31 AM
It is nice to see the bright lights and the faces, so happy. But Harvest Moon draws away from the merrymaking. There is something about the growing renown of the League Adventurers. It places an unease within her. The praise of the many peoples ... it is uncomfortable.
She approaches Peza, who prepares to join the revelry. She tugs at her friend's sleeve. "I go to my home," she says. It is all that she says. Then the half-elfish girl steals off into the night.

OoC @ Woldian Sheriff Ken: I'm going Walk About. (And forgot to include you in my email.) Please do not count Harvest Moon's lack of posting in your count.
DM James Friday May 23rd, 2014 6:18:59 PM
As the group makes their way towards The Squid's Ink Zalmay braces himself for an ale tsunami, and he is not disappointed. The citizens, typically looked on as the lower class and easily ignored, are so eager to show their appreciation that the group never has the opportunity to lay down coin. In fact, the booze flow freely that the league adventurer's have difficulty retelling the tail, and in many places the story is magnificently augmented by fishermen. Throughout the night many visitors drop by as they hear of your return, some to give their congratulations and others who just want to be able to say that they were at such a magnificent party. Besides the random political officials of Rum, and those wishing to get into politics, you note several WLA members in attendance including Artus and Ceri, Scully's Heroe's and even the tall man wearing a silver cloak with three overlapping silver circles contained withing a third circle, the tall man wearing the traditional symbol of Alemi who toasted Theringer after his funeral.
The only thing that brings down anyone's spirit that night is when Harvest Moon tells Peza that she will be returning home and steels off in to the night.
Ooc: We will miss you Al. It has been a pleaseure playing with you, and we hope see you return to the Wold when you can, be it to Rum or elsewhere in the Wold.
