Barratore turns his attention back to Edson at his phrase, "here we go." He nods to the rogue but then then returns his attention to what is above and behind the group. Brom, he knew would take lead, and for now, he would be taking the rear guard spot. Barratore pulls his shield and his sword. As the others get ready to follow Brom's lead, Barratore asks aloud in all seriousness

"Are we taking prisoners or slaughtering them all?"

Brom nods to Barratore and draws his sword before going in. "Let's see if we can try to keep 'em alive. The leaders are the key."

Eyeing Edson as he works his craft ..... she smiles as he finds the brick .... " nice work "

With a peek at the mangy dog .... " run along she whispers to it "

Barratore's words echo in her head ... " if we can take prisonors we will .... we need to show that element will be punished .... not slaughted .... but i trust your judgement .... if you feel its nessacary ... then put em to your sword ... "

Loading a bolt in her crossbow ... the ranger takes a position up in front Barratore who will guard the back .... when everyone is ready she signals Edson to open the entrance ...

Gerox mutters, "Hard to pull a scorching ray or fireball. I hope they show sense."

Edson cautiously removes the brick from the wall. As he pulls it out he realizes that the brick is shorter than one would expect, and behind lies a large brass key. Taking it quickly he rejoins the group. Only Brom remains alert, but nothing around him moves. Already Barratore is readying his weapons and the League Adventurer's are falling in line. A decision to try to keep as many alive as possible, especially the leaders. Peza shoos the dog away and signals Edson to open the entrance.

Unsurprisingly, the entrance is locked. However it only takes a second for Edson to try the key. The well oiled lock turns silently and the door slides open a few inches under its own weight. In the dim light filtering in through the crack you can just make out some mattresses on the floor along with a variety of dry footstuffs.  On the far side of the room if a thick metal door.

Edson holds his breath as he walks through the doorway into the room. His eyes scan around quickly, making sure his steps land on no traps. He notices the fruit, the steps, and the lack of dust making sure to point it out to the others to make sure they notice as well.

Gerox notices the graffiti on the wall and nods in appreciation to Edson's keen eye on the tracks and the fruit. "We need to be prepared for some company" the gnome says to the others.

Gerox points to the metal door and says, "If that is barred, it will be easier to go through the wall than that thing. Edson, can you check it out? I wonder if the same key works on it."

Barratore remains outside of the small room while Edson and Gerox investigate and Brom watches them from inside. The minotaur stands with his back to the wall and gazing back down the alley towards the street. Occasionally looking up. He smiles as Peza looks into the doorway, "I'll do my best to get you a few."

ooc: I am travelling tonight, so I am posting now rather than making you wait until tomorrow.

As you all enter the room Barratore remains vigilant, but nothing stirs other than you. The room is cramped with everyone in it, and you notice a stale odor mixed with that of your comrades. At Gerox asking Edson tries the door and finds it locked. To make matters worse, the brass key does not fit into this lock.

After examining it, Edson thinks there is a chance the lock could be picked. As for what would be easier to break down, the door or the wall, it is hard to say. It is impossible to tell how thick either are.

"Before we break it down, let me see if I can get it open."
Edson first searches all around the door, and lock for traps( Trap Finding 36).

If it is ok to proceed he begins to pick the lock.(Disable Device 23)

Peeking behind her Peza see's Barratore covering their backs .... tuning back to Edson " can you open it ?"

Waiting patiently she ponders the situation ... " somehow that brick gets replaced ... cant do it from the inside .... i wonder if they watch the door all the time ... but if we get the other door open we will go forward anyway .... "

Another thought crosses her mind ... " we should keep the noise down .... noise will echo down the hallway ...we should talk in low tones "

Brom waits for the rogue to open the door. He keeps a vigilant watch for danger.

Trap Sense +3 (A barbarian gains a +3 bonus on Reflex saves made to avoid traps and a +3 dodge bonus to AC against attacks made by traps.)
