Murphy HP 32/32 AC 16/14/14 CMD 14 (Kim)
Thursday January 15th, 2015 4:43:12 AM

After listening to his friends' brief comments, Murphy adds, "We also learned that it apparently was Idafeatu who stole the bell. He then sent a message to his brother. After that, we met and defeated Idafeatu. The message, or response to it on Noyudidnt's part, took a while. By the time the second brother arrived, we already had found the bell.

"I was going to tell Noyudidnt that his brother was dead, but he decided to make me dead before we were able to reach that part of the conversation. Some giants would rather beat you up instead of talking or listening. I need to figure out how to talk with them, but also stay out of their reach."

After finishing the story to the Ffloyan assembly, to Iangold individually, Murphy mentions, "Oh, and Fatine, with whom you signed a contract, had to leave the group before we got back. But she helped us find and recover the bell."

Thursday January 15th, 2015 10:53:13 PM

Bliss listens to his friends' conversation. He reaches into his bag and gets out an apple to eat.

"Here Mookie, I found you a worm!" He tosses it to his familiar.

The worm drops to the ground. "Yeah, I'll just catch that with my hands!" the bird caws. He tilts his head and stares at the wriggler.

"What? You think I'm going to eat that! Ugh!" Peck.

"How about something decent for a change?" Peck.

"You think I actually like this garbage?" Gulp.

"I wouldn't eat that for a thousand gold."

Perception DC 2: Highlight to display spoiler: {You note that the worm has mysteriously disappeared.}

Murphy HP 32/32 AC 16/14/14 CMD 14 (Kim)
Friday January 16th, 2015 12:04:09 AM

Murphy loves how fastidious Mookie is.

He then remembers a promise. "Broker Iangold Laughshield, I know you met Sardok just before we left to recover the bell. You should know that this halfling is experienced, and his knowledge and skill on this task were well appreciated. He has a handle on history, on strategy and tactics - and, I believe, some acquaintance with the Red Hills. Indeed, had I heeded more of his counsel, I likely would not have received a wound from the edge of the ogre mage's sword. He also is brave, and stood against a vicious ogre, battling against him with Hazel and Faoil, and not relenting though himself badly battered. I thank heaven above that he did as he did. I want to recommend him to you. The rest of us you have worked with, and know to an extent. Sardok well proved himself with us members of Humble's Sword.

"Sardok, Broker Iangold Laughshield and his fellow clerics and followers of Ffloy came recently to Humble's Ford. They hope to help bring prosperity and success to our little town." He has spend a little amount of time among Ffloy's followers, so introduces those whose names he knows to Sardok.

Friday January 16th, 2015 4:54:07 AM

Seeing a small gathering of people form, Alleah decides to try and entertain some of the children.

She begins with "Got your nose", "coin behind your ear", and "the broken thumb". Though that may net a few chuckles from the younger kids, Alleah resorts to magic to entertain the older ones.

She casts Prestidigitation and uses it to change the colour of their hair to beautiful hues from the rainbow.

Sardok HP 27/35 AC 20/15/16
Friday January 16th, 2015 10:23:23 AM

Sardok shakes the Broker's hand and humbly accepts the high praise. He asks about the town's history and mumbles the appropriate phrases that he hopes he can serve the town and improve the future for all citizens.
But when Alleah starts to entertain a small crowd of children, Sardok's eyes watch the performance with distracted earnest, until he finally says, "Excuse me" and joins the crowd.

He recreates her 'coin behind the ear' trick, his face splitting into an uncharacteristically bright smile. He gradually works his way up, producing large rocks, entire handfuls of coins, and even formerly-worn socks from apparently thin air.

He finishes with a grand finale of grabbing from behind Alleah's ear something that -- of course -- couldn't be her underwear, but he recommends that she check anyway.

OOC: Substituting Sleight of Hand for Performance check, Take 10 + 11 = 21. Great Performance.

Prestidigitations (Post 1 of 3) (ADM Kim)
Sunday January 18th, 2015 4:05:47 AM

The fellow who drives the oxcart is pleased by the funds provided him by Alleah and then Murphy. He tips his straw hat to Alleah and the rest of the group.

A bit later, the children and several of the adults seem to enjoy the simple misdirections and 'magic' of Alleah and Sardok - though a mother of one of the children covers her young boy's eyes as Sardok holds forth the feminine undergarment.

Of Ffloy: Iangold and company (Post 2 of 3) (ADM Kim)
Sunday January 18th, 2015 4:06:32 AM

Iangold and some of his fellow brokers listen to the party's explanations, and are attended as well by some of the local citizens of Humble's Ford who have gathered as they see the golden bell being hauled toward the temple of Ffloy.

As Murphy speaks, some listen, others seem absorbed in simply admiring the golden instrument on the cart, and a few discuss quietly how they are going to lift it down from the cart to the ground safely.

A few turn their attention back toward Murphy as he mentions the giant swinging his sword at the speaker. As Hazel picks it up, several clap at his succinct rendition, and some even laugh with appreciation for what he said, as well as Shel's concurrence.

Iangold focuses in when Murphy mentions the two ogre mage brothers, and the correspondence between them.

"So, if you had been more thorough in your searching your first time there, we might have had the bell back well before now?" the chief broker asks with a raised eyebrow.

One cleric, whom Murphy knows as Simon, cups his hands and shouts. "You set your hands to the sides of your mouth and talk loud like this from a hundred yards away, Murphy!" Simon and a few of those near him laugh.

Another one, though, one of the few female brokers - Berylla - says, "Shush, Simon. You are being rude. These brave people faced down huge biguns, and brought our bell back. Do you think you could stand before giants, and defeat them in their strength?"

Simon's face flushes, and those who laughed with him decide they should look up at the sky or over at the bell. One of them, though, steps forward. "Thank you all, brave halflings. Thank you, each one." He advances and holds out his hand to Hazel, then Shel, and Bliss, then Alleah, Sardok, and Murphy. "You have our gratitude, and we believe what you have done will help this community prosper. My name is Cottar, of Angel Springs." He turns to his fellows, and says, "Let us hold a dinner in their honor - once the bell is remounted back at the trading square." He looks toward their chief cleric and adds, "If that sounds fair to you, Broker Iangold."

Iangold has a momentary look of irritation which quickly dissipates. "Well, let it be a luncheon - we can have it at trade square tomorrow shortly past noon." He turns to a diminutive round-faced halfling, and says, "Wellby, make up commemorative circles in honor of the occasion, with a simple bell in the center and some text I shall give you to sell as mementos of the occasion to those gathered." Then speaking to the one who shook the adventurers' hands, he says, "As you proposed it, Cottar, I make it your purview to attend to the other necessary arrangements."

Concerning the mention of Fatine, the broker waves his hand away. "That shall be for you to decide. She received half of her portion the day you left, and if you choose you may reserve the other half from the fifteen hundred gold we contracted with you for the second half of payment due upon return of the bell." He turns, "Simon, you and Berylla take these six in, use this key, and provide them the payment in assayed gems and gold, as they wish. And this small one, I believe," he says, indicating Bliss, "prefers platinum. There should be sufficient in store to cover his needs." He pulls from under his shirt then over his head a linen cord with a key on the end, and hands it to Simon. "Have them initial their contracts next to the 'payment received' line as the funds are distributed. That should be 250 gold pieces equivalent each." In a bit you'll learn from Simon that gems of 50 and 100 gold piece value are available. There is enough platinum for Bliss, even enough for a second person should they also want platinum pieces. Adequate gold is also there.

Then Iangold speaks to the group before they enter the temple. "Forgive me my words about not finding the bell sooner. Why would you have been expected to look for it when you did not know it was missing? Indeed," he says, with warmth in his voice, "you all did well, and I am grateful." His right hand presses against his heart, and his head inclines slightly toward the group.

Of Flower: Alouryn and other pulchritudinous devotees of the goddess of love (Post 3 of 3) (ADM Kim)
Sunday January 18th, 2015 4:08:05 AM

About that time, from around the corner of the general store, dressed in silky dresses of yellow and gold, come dancing clerics of Flower. Each bears a short rod with long multicolored silks they weave in intricate flowing patterns as they sing. One girl, whom Hazel recognizes as Portia, skillfully plays a lute, as, plucking the strings, she also manages to tap out a lively rhythm.
The bell it went a missing
So answered 'venturers bold
"We'll find who took the chimer
Full wrought of lustrous gold"

And as we're reminiscing
The story as it's told
They stalked the trail blazers
Who dragged gold booty home

The giants, flames a-hissing
The thieves they paid their toll
When halflings, justice bringers
Reduced biguns to loam

And now we come a-kissing
These heroes of the Wold
Of golden bell the finders
Whose acts should be extolled
Faoil runs towards the group when they are fifty yards off, and excitedly circles Alouryn, occasionally leaping in the air trying to strike the passing silks with his nose.

The imaginary sound of gold pieces 'clinking' together fills Alleah's mind. She is brought back to reality by the Flower troupe.

"Ugh, not these hippy-dippy, touchy-feely folk again!" she does her best to force a smile, not at all in the mood for them to "come a-kissing" her.

"Say, Shel, didn't you say something about dinner?" Alleah takes a slight step back from the dancers. She turns to look at Iangold and asks with genuine hope "Would you care to join us, Broker?"

Shel Breezelee Kromnite (Gerald) HP25/26; AC 14/14/11

Sensing Alleah's discomfort, Shel whispers to her, "You get used to them. They like to dance, but they are harmless. And the kisses are only pecks on the cheek," she laughed. "But yes, I'm famished. Let's get our reward and see if anyone is open tonight. If we don't sign the contracts just so,,I'm afraid Iangold will try to find some way to weasel out of the deal. Let's get paid then go eat!"

Murphy HP 32/32 AC 16/14/14 CMD 14 (Kim)
Monday January 19th, 2015 2:13:16 AM

When Laughshield seems to chastize the group for not finding the bell in the first place, Murphy comments, "Well, if we had found the bell on our earlier venture, then there would still be one murderous ogre mage out in the Red Hills, viewing our kind as slaves and tender morsels fit to eat, Broker Iangold."

He is happy to shake the hand of Cottar, receiving his thanks. He answers Simon, the halfling who was jesting at him a moment earlier. He cups his hands to his mouth, and says loudly, "Actually, that was sound advice you just offered, Simon!" and gives him and his companions a wink, letting them off the hook.

He goes into the temple of Flower... now of Ffloy - signs his contract at the appropriate spot, makes certain they initial his copy, and receives payment in a 100 gp gem, two 50 gp gems, and 5 platinum pieces.

Then, with a quick, "Pleasure doing business with you," (the Ffloyan equivalent of "thank you") and dashes out to see the tail end of the dance of the Flower maidens. He has to seen what Hazel does when his eyes alight on Alouryn.

Hazel shakes hands and asks for Murphy to get his share of the payment.
"I got something to do here." - he says while seeing Alouryn and the rest dance.
He hoots and claps, making as much noise as he is able cheering at the Flower Girls (well, Alouryn, but also the others). He whistles and howls, smiles and cheer, and laughs at Faoil joining the dance.
He is truly happy.
"That is my fiancee!" - He tells, pointing to Alouryn, to anyone he finds next to.
Already added the 250 gp to the Character Sheet.

Murphy obliges Hazel. He arranges with Simon and Berylla to take Hazel's contract out to him for his signature, then goes back in, gets his payment (in four 50 gp gems, four platinum pieces, and ten gold pieces), then takes Hazel's share back out to him.

He nudges Sardok's elbow with his own. "See those dancing girls? That one is Alouryn, Hazel's fiancée. She is one of the original members of Humble's Sword, and is quite a healer. Now, go get your payment, Sardok! Then you can watch the girls a bit more, and maybe one of them will give you a little kiss."

The contracts are signed and the payments for the trip to retrieve the bell are made. The mood in the village is jovial and happy as news spreads that the Bell will be transported back to the Trader's Court tomorrrow with a Sales Day scheduled for the end of the week. To that end, Iangold politely declines the invitation for food with the excuse of needing to prepare.

The rest of the evening passes uneventfully, or at least as uneventfully as it can with boisterous halflings happy about how things are going.

Murphy (Kim)
Tuesday January 20th, 2015 4:35:27 AM

There is a pile of things Murphy would like to do now that we're back in town. Here is the short list:
- Let his companions know generally what he plans to do until the trading area opens up, and see if anyone wants him to do anything particular with them, or in addition to his plans, or if any wish to join him in some of his activities.
- He is willing to help Sardok get to know more about the community & its people, if he has an interest in such. He does talk to him about his concerns that in the next year or so there may be raids or worse by Red Hills biguns into Crescent Valley. He would love kicking around ideas about how they might prepare the community against such attacks.
- Check up on the fellow Alleah persuaded to leave behind his wayward life, and learn some non-rogueish skills (one of the barn attackers). He was left to maintain our burrow beside the river. He will ask him how things went, and if anything of interest has happened during the party's absence. Get a report from Cora and Eldon, as well as from Murphy's mother and siblings, on how he has comported himself.
- Shop - will turn in some things, pick up some things.
- Visit with several of the older members of the community, both leading citizens as well as those less in the limelight. Get their thoughts on various topics - but in particular, he wants to learn what they know about the olden days, and the times when trade with the Red Hills inhabitants was a regular practice. Do they think we can resume trade? Does Madame LaRue know what plants, spices, trading goods she is aware of that can be sourced from the Red Hills.
- He will discuss with the militia and the constabulary a few notions - such as setting up some berms, perhaps also some areas which might slow down and channel an outside attack from big'uns. "Of course we hope such does not happen, but the Red Hills are getting restless these days." He recalls Idafeatu's resentment toward the halflings of Crescent Valley, and how the giants from the hills feel cut off from their brethren to the north since the establishment of the ward towers. Include the local wizards in such questions and discussions.
- Each day spend about 2-4 hours exploring shapechanging into a different animal. Get a feel for what it is like to dwell, albeit briefly, in a seriously different body.
- Murphy fasts the day after they arrive, and spends some of the time normally spent eating in prayer and meditation
- And he does several other things...

Bliss pockets his 250 +83 gp and grins.

He shakes hands with Iangold. He asks him, "Mister Iangold, I just now noticed that your name has the word 'gold' in it, and you are very concerned with gold. Is that just a coincidence, or ... or something else?"

Things Bliss does over the next four days:

-- Bliss approaches each of his friends and declares, "I have decided to be a hero. So I hear there's a hero club you can join where they teach you to be more hero-like. It is very expensive, but I think it is worth it. [OOC: Bliss really wants to join the WLA. Kim, did you say there was a branch in Angel Springs? Can Bliss get there and back in time?]

-- Bliss gives the party wand of CLW to Alleah. "I've already got one, actually," he explains.

-- Bliss replenishes his bolts and pays to maintain his gear, spending 25 gp to make sure he is up to snuff.

[OOC: Updated sheet to add gp and to change status on expired yule gifts.]

Murphy (Kim)
Tuesday January 20th, 2015 1:29:37 PM

"So, Quotiln," Murphy asks Alleah's ward, "How are things going here so far?" He looks to see how things look at the Humble's Sword burrow, and tries to get a feel for how far the training and support the halfling has received has taken him over the past several days.

He also transfers his callico cat over to the burrow from his family burrow. He enlists Quotiln's help in fashioning a wee cat door.

======

"Yes, Bliss, the Woldian League of Adventurers has a place in Angel Springs. It's about nineteen miles from here to there, so you could get there in a day, spend two nights, perhaps, then get back in time for the opening of Traders Square. Actually, that is a good idea. I might change my plans and go along with you! My sister, Selithe, and brother Kendry are members in good standing."

So, if Bliss goes, so does Murphy. He brings two of his ponies - one for him, one for Bliss. He will take the oath of the WLA, and receive the initial training. And then have real motivation for additional adventuring, as his funds will be quite diminished.

OOC: If anyone else is interested, you can read about the WLA. Membership at our level is 2,000 gold pieces - there are quite a few benefits to membership. I recommend you at least read the page at the WLA link.

OOC: the WLA is awesome! I've never heard of it before. Shel would love to get in on something like this! Thing is, she doesn't have the 2000 gold just yet. She's close, so after our next little mission, she will have enough to join! She is definitely in, for the cool pin/badge alone.

"That sounds like a really neat organization! I don't quite have 2000 gold to join just yet, however. If I could borrow 72 pieces of gold from you two, I'd gladly repay you, though. This Iangold seems to love to give us gold, so I'm sure we'd get another paying job relatively soon!"

"I'd be happy to loan you some gold, Shel. I've got change from my purchases at the catacombs. Here you go" Alleah does have a greedy streak, but knows when a cause is just. And if it means one more hero in the Wold, then it's a cause she's happy to get behind. She hands over 72 pieces of gold (precisely) to Shel and smiles.

----------------------

Alleah will watch over Murphy and Quotiln and the cat-door project. She'll hand out hammers, nails, saws, whatever, as a kind of carpenter's apprentice. Happily sitting back and watching the two men go to work building. It reminds her of the times she would sit back and watch her father build things. To her it just looked like pieces of wood, but he could turn them into such wonderful things. The closer she looks at Quotiln, the more she can see pieces of her father. Yes, this man may be related to her after all.

The next few days pass quickly as the Humble's Sword busy themselves around town or on a trip to Angel Springs. The bell is carted off along with a dozen workmen with word spreading they they will be spending the rest of the week fixing up the Trader's Court to help restore some of its former glory.

In Humble's Ford the home of the new home of the Humble's Swords has been thoroughly cleaned by Qoutiln while the heroes have been out and he gladly offers to help in fashioning the door for the cat. In fact he manages to get the door made with Murphy and only ends up with one broken finger to show for it.

Those that wish to travel to Angel Springs to join the WLA can do so, but time will be tight to get there, train and get back in time for Sales Day. Tight, but doable.

And finally Sales Day arrives.

Early in the morning the wagons of the merchants heading to the Trader's Court are lined up outside of town with the wagon of the priests of Floy in the lead and a spot for the Sword's reserved behind it. There is a mood of merriment and hope in the town as the reins on the lead wagon are crack and the caravan sets off.

Shel hugged Alleah after the cleric offered her the lacking funds. "Would you like to come with us and investigate this whole WLA thing? I think it sounds very neat. I doubt there's any Flower dancers there," she uttered with a giggle.

-Shel was very excited to travel to Angel Springs, and check out this WLA. I doubt they'd even let me in the front door, though. I'm no hero, I'm just a girl from the middle of nowhere, she thought to herself. Even after she was allowed in, she thought they were probably just after her gold, but Murphy and the others were gung ho as well, so she stuck with it. She underwent the requisite training and beamed with pride upon being given her initiate badge. "Isn't this just the cutest," she whispered to the others.

On the trip back to the Ford, all she could do was talk about the neat experience that she'd had. "Forst they told me to punch a board. I did, and boy, did it hurt like the dickens. Eventually, it got to the point that it didn't hurt anymore. They told me that I had good form. Can you believe that? Me...who can't even pick up a decent sized log had good form! It's crazy, I say.". She kept up a running dialogue of all the different things they had her punch, like a pineapple, a rock, a stuffed monkey, etc.

OOC: I think I'm going to have Shel take the IUS feat, lol! I love it...

Alleah is not interested in joining the WLA, not seeing herself as a 'hero' anyway.

But finally trade day has arrived!

Alleah ensures that Quotiln knows he is free to attend if he so chooses. He is not a slave, that must be made clear.

She will try to get the Broker's attention, either on the journey or beforehand

"Ian, sir? Happy Trade Day to you" she's unsure what the traditional greeting would be for this day, but that will have to do "Might I beg a boon from you? You see, I have a set of merchant scales and I was wondering if you would do me the honor of signing them? To have them autographed by a Broker such as yourself would make them all the more special" Alleah beams one of her trademark smiles as she continues to simultaneously suck up to and look up to the Broker.

Bliss (and Shel and Murphy) race up just in time for the Trade Days! Bliss may be huffing and puffing, but he shows off his new WLA membership pin proudly, pinned to his shirt for all to see!

"Look Miss Alleah! Look! I'm a hero now, for sure!"

"Your mom would be proud," says Mookie, serious for a moment. "She was an officer in that club, you know."

"Shucks, I know that," says Bliss. But his grin gets even wider, if that's possible.

Murphy heals up Quotiln's broken finger. Together they admire their handiwork. It takes Murphy about half an hour to help his cat figure out how to use the wee doorway flap that they made for her to facilitate ingress and egress. "Go catch some mice, now."

He is excited to consider membership in the Woldian League of Adventurers. The improved unarmed strike seems a good thing to learn, as he recalls Podo's style of fighting.

Quotiln is quite happy to have his broken finger quickly mended by Murphy during the project.. and excited on the Sales Day that he is to be allowed to go to the Trader's Court. He thanks Alleah and the rest of the swords before securing himself a place amongst the merchants wagons.

The trip to the Court is uneventful, but passes quickly in merriment and song. One of the merchants pays the brewer to break open a cask meant for sale and a free mug of ale is offered to all that can bring their cup during the trip.

Once the wagons arrive at the court they find it a different place than with it was last visited. The bell has been rehung with the stand freshly white washed and shining. Some landscaping has been done with potted plants laid in the earth to give the area a more vibrant, welcoming feel. Some rough hewn benches of wood have been arranged here and there as well.

The wagons move to park themselves in one half of the square and it becomes a makeshift market while Iangold and the other priests prepare themselves at the bell. After all the wagons are in place Iangold stands on his wagon and claps loudly to get everone's attention, "Fair folk of Humble's Ford and beyond.... on this joyous Sales Day, the first in years, I could give a speech to you preaching of our hopeful future and trade.. but instead, let the speech be given in the language of Flloy. The sweet sounds of Commerce! Let us summon the peaceful traders of the Red Hills!"

he motions to one of his priests that pulls a roll on the bell stand and the bell tilts... and he releases. The bell tolls a sweet, pure note that carries for miles. The musical tone seems to calm the mind and heart with its purity... and it reaches far into the Red Hills.

~~~~~~~~~~~~
OOC To you magical folks the bell seems to have an affect similar to Calm Emotions on the Trader's Court. No violence will be initiated by those present. You can roll a will save if you really want though.
Murphy takes the time to look all around the area. He enjoys the plantings. He knows some things to do as a druid which could augment and supplement the vegetation, but leaves it be for now.
He has his Teucri mug, a full 20 oz capacity - and takes up the offer to fill it. He shares sips with those of his friends who want to sample it. He drinks only lightly himself, wanting to keep what wits he might have.
After the first 15-20 minutes, he tells Shel, "Say, I think I'd like to take a look at what effect the tolling of the bell has in gathering people from the Red Hills. I think I'll find a hidden place nearby, change into a hawk, and fly southwards a ways. If I find anything interesting, I'll wing my way back and let you all know. I should let a few others know, too." So he goes next to Bliss and Mookie, and lets them know of his plans. "Any advice for an inexperienced winged halfling?" he inquires of the crow who never seems to lack an opinion. "If you want to come alone - if that's all right with Bliss - I could try changing into a crow, rather than a hawk. Having a hawk and a crow winging it together might arouse suspicion, if anyone is paying attention.
Last he talks with Hazel. "Things all right with you and the lady? Or is it that you're here, and she doesn't seem to be at the moment?" he inquires. He does tell Hazel of his plans to fly south a ways. "I shouldn't be gone more than four hours - and likely less than that. If I'm not back by that time, then something likely went wrong."
A few minutes later, he finds a place hidden behind trees and a bush, and transforms into a hawk - unless Mookie chose to come along, in which case he changes into a crow, then flies toward the Red Hills, gaining altitude so as to get a good overview of the territory.
[Made will save - unless the spell effect is of a higher order than the normal calm emotions - please let us know the DC for the will save.]
While the towns folk are excited for the Sales Day.. some of the Humble's Sword not so much.
Hazel would rather be spending his time in the wilderness with his lady and hound, but feels its his duty to watc the priests of Ffloy. He finds them doing nothing that would raise suspicious. They mingle in the crowd and chat.
Alleah climbs on top of a wagon to get a better view..
Shel is please with the day over all, but laments the lack of coin to trade with
Murphy makes plans to scout the Hills instead of staying for the markets. It looks like he will be birding it alone.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Those in the square unfortunately are in for something of a wait. Over an hour passes and still no traders from the Hills have appeared... but then, just as murmurs of packing up and heading home are spreading through the merchants the sound of deep voices singing can be heard and a few minutes later a family of half-orcs appear pulling a hand cart laden with furs behind them.

The half-orcs are on the first to arrive as soon after a couple of Hill Giants appear touting large packs of intricately carved wooden bowls. In another hour several representatives from the Red Hills have appear offering various goods for trade, including a clan of Red Hills halflings selling surprisingly well-crafted baskets.

The traders of Red Hills and Crescent Valley mingle, coins and goods are exchanged, and through it all Iangold smiles from atop the seat of his wagon. He'll occasionally speak to anyone that comes to talk to him, but otherwise he lets the trade proceed and his fellow priests record.

~~~~~~
From his flying Murphy is able to spot several groups of Big 'Uns approaching the Trader's Court, all laden with the signs of trade instead of war. There's even a playful band of halfings on their way. He spots a few trolls heading away from the court, apparently driven away by the magic of the bell.
Hawkeyed-Murphy tallies the various groups, number of members of each group, from which directions they are coming, along with an estimate of their arrival times. Then he turns about, and returns to the place where earlier he changed, and, ensuring no eyes are able to see his current location, changes shape back into Murphy.
He gathers together the members of Humble's Ford, gives them a quick run down of what he saw, then comes over to Iangold Laughshield, and relays the same information to him. "Looks like things are getting lively, Broker!"
Alleah is suitably impressed by the power of this simple bell. But at the same time she is a little concerned. This thing must have a near artefact level of power. What if it was corrupted?
Alleah casts a Detect Magic cantrip and looks closely at the bell. Following that she will scan the crowd nearby. Just as a precaution mind you. There is soon to be a whole pile of goods and gold together in one place.
After that, she will gladly join in with the sale day activities. She will try and value the various wares on offer, and if she should spy a bargain, she will not hesitate to snap it up (Appraise check: 19 with Take10. Sardok nods sagely at Murphy's question, and scans the approaching hordes. His mind idly plays over the various scenarios, but the scene being what it is, with large crowds, mingling crowds.... None of these forces would approach with open hostility. So the most likely scenario would be that everyone is homogeneously mingled, and then trouble starts. If it's organized, and there's a large force...there is no plan that could prevent that.
"Basically..." Sardok starts out, "basically...we're all fragged. Everyone last one of us!" He laughs and takes another swig.
Somewhere along the edge of his mind is the term "Strategic Reserve". It's the idea that a group of people stand off to the side of the situation, so that should trouble happen they can rush in and at least minimize anything that might happen.
Had he been asked before the bell, he might have made plans and diagrams and assigned team-roles. But now...
Now, boy, this is some really good ale.
Alleah decides to study the bell and takes a look at with a more magic vision.. it radiates with extremely strong Enchantment magic, near artifact level of power as surmised. With her appraising eye she snaps up a couple of the carved bowls when she sees just how detailed the work is.
Bliss turns into a old cat lady for a brief moment while examining the goods for sale. He doesn't spot anything unusual other than the gathering.
Murphy returns from his scouting to inquire of tactics with Sardok in the event that the event was to turn not to peaceful or attract the wrong sort of folks.
Sardok examines the field, weighs his options, and decides that it'd just be a huge mess all around.. and that's some good ale.
Hazel looks about for Alouyn who is currently trying on a shawl made of fox fur...
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Shortly after Murphy returns the first of the visiting Red Hills folk takes their leave. It is a couple of half-orcs that had sold their basket of smoked fish and purchased a nearly equal amount of sweat treats from Humble's Ford witih their earnings.

The rest however, stick arond for some time bartering and trading, but the Sales slowly wind to a close as everyone's money is depleted and all the possible trades have been completed. Iangold confers with his priests on the wagon and together they are going over a scroll full of sums..

And then the fish-smoking half orcs reappear. They look angry as they stalk into the square and yell out, "You trick us? You ring the bell, promise peace and trade.. and then rob us when we go home? You sell us goods only to steal them back!"

"Our friend thought they were threatening you, when that was not the case. Tell them trading may continue, and we will make efforts to ensure safety and security for all who trade peacefully. Then, send someone for the militia, and ask them to serve as courtesy escorts for traders who wish to leave - might we suggest they travel in groups? - until a safe distance away, at which point the traders may continue on their way, and the militia may return here.

"Then, by your leave, we will see if we can recover the stolen items. We want a good reputation as traders, yes? If traders see we take swift action to ensure any thievery is quashed, and that justice is brought to miscreants who disrupt free and fair exchange, then like as not that will improve trade."

Track by Scent: A creature with the scent ability can follow tracks by smell, making a Wisdom (or Survival) check to find or follow a track. The typical DC for a fresh trail is 10 (no matter what kind of surface holds the scent). This DC increases or decreases depending on how strong the quarry's odor is, the number of creatures, and the age of the trail. For each hour that the trail is cold, the DC increases by 2. The ability otherwise follows the rules for the Survival skill. Creatures tracking by scent ignore the effects of surface conditions and poor visibility.

But then Shel berates the Half-Orc for he shouldn't just go about blaiming every Halfling in Humble's Ford...

"You say Grumumak liar?! THEY HALFLINGS I SAID!!"

Luckily Alleah is able to defuse the situation somewhat by calmly making an action plan... best place to start is at the beginning...

"You nice... She not... " Grumumak says as he points at Shel, "Yes you come see wagon so you see we no liar!". He says to Alleah but the words 'no liar' he speaks with emphasis and into Shel's face...

Muprhy takes note of any traders who appear to leave the site in haste. No one leaves but all are watching the scene with intrest... some seem to hesitate to continue trading! Iangold listens to Murphy and gives a couple of nods.
As he listens he takes his hand out of his pocket holding a torn piece of paper... as he read his eyes grow wide and you seem to see his face going a tint lighter...

"I doubt there will be an other robbery... whoever did this clearly wanted to disturb the trading... look... I don't know where this comes from... someone must have slipped it in my pocket I guess... "

Murphy takes the note and read:
Congratulations on your first Sale Days!
Your friends, F.E.A.R.

Iangold eyeballs Murphy...
"What should I do?!" he whispers desperately...

A few minutes earlier, near the Half-Orc's wagon, Hazel had Faoil smell the goods and any tracks on the ground. The dog frantically moved back and forth untill he barked and headed into the bush next to the road. Hazel noticed some footprints too!

The Ranger quickly gave Alouryn a pecker on the nose and then headed after his trusted friend... Faoil and Hazel were able to follow the tracks for quite a while. They turned back to Humble's Ford it seemed! But suddenly the traces went dead... just as if something wanted you to see they were going to Humble's Ford again and then magically erased all tracks or traces... Faoil yelped confused.

Dissapointed Hazel returned to the trading site just at the moment Iangold and Murphy are staring at the disturbing note...
As Alouryn sees Hazel reappear she slips her hand in his and huddles against him. Troubled times have come to Humble's Ford and she wants to be close to her loved one.

Shel really was affected by the calming influence of the bell. She would have never let the Orc yell at her like that, if not for the strong Magic. As she was completely calm, however, she simply smiled at the angry orc. "Grumumak, don't be mad. I'm sure no Humble's Ford halflings robbed you. It's funny everything you had was stolen though. How did your group let that happen? Are you sure the halflings didn't have some help. From the inside," she says with a bright smile.

"Aww man, I was going to place some gold on the odds of FEAR trying to ruin things" Alleah says on seeing the note. Now she's upset about two things. "Those guys are really starting to grind my gears"

Alleah looks over the cart carefully. Was any item left behind? Is there an animal leading the cart that she might speak to?

After the fruitless search, Sardok flares his cloak back over his hilts and comes around to the irate orcs, a broad smile on his face and an open handshake for each one.

"Friends," he begins. "If we are to help you, you must be more forthcoming with us. For such, brave, powerful warriors as yourselves, how is it that many bags were taken from you while you were on the march home? Didn't you start walking straight home? Did you leave them unattended? Did you set them down to hunt?
And you say that you know they were halflings? How is that? What -exactly- happened that you saw those that had robbed, yet they went from you un-slain, and you stand here weapons un-bloodied and with no scars of battle upon you!
Simply tell us what happened...and if you can recall anything, well, -unusual- about them so that we might know them when we seem them, all the better!"

Sardok realizes that the orcs have been overly ambiguous in their claims. Sure they might have been robbed at the fair, but to be on your way home, with bags in hand, and have them whisked away? One bag might be stolen by a very good thief, but a whole slew? Something is missing here....

Hazel seems very disappointing that he couldn't find the thieves.
"Those FEAR guys will pay for this."
He goes to the Half-Orcs.
"What do the thieves stole from you? How much money was it worth? I think those guys" - he points to the Ffloy priests - "can repay you, in the name of keeping trading safe."

Tell them that those who did this will not be back today, so let the trading continue. Bring the militia here, and let them provide security. We'll get a description from the victims of those who robbed them. And, we'll figure out how to begin unraveling just who is behind FEAR. Now, I'm going to join my mates in asking around to see what I can find out."

He does so, going to various halflings of the Ford to see if they noticed any halflings not from the town wandering about today. He will also talk with the giants in their own tongue, as well as trolls, and other traders, and try to see if they noticed any halflings whose behavior may have seemed 'off'.

[DM StevenVdB] - The opposite of F.E.A.R. is Bliss...
Monday February 2nd, 2015 4:50:58 PM

Grumumak is baffled by Shel as she peacefully talks to him trying to understand how he and his family could have been robbed...

"I... we... two like you stepped out on the road in front of us... both dressed in grey cloaks... they looked identical.. "

While Shel speaks with Grumumak, Alleah and Bliss search the Half-Orc's cart. The cart is wiped clean... no donkey or horse was pulling the hand cart either. Bliss is thouroughly confused and angered! Who are these people??!!

Grumumak starts to get both irritated and ashamed as not only Shel but also Sardok interrogates him and questions the fact he and his family lost their purchases... so he continues explaining

"...one waved his hands and suddenly it all went dark in front of me eyes... when me wakes up everything gone! You halfling took everything!"

Returning from the tracking effort Hazel too mingles in the discussion with Grumumak...
Before the Half-Orc has a chance to speak Iangold, who apparently regained his wits thanks to Murphy's advise, tries to defuse the situation in agreement with Hazel's proposal.

"I'm sorry this sad robbery took place... we will refund what was stolen. If you could please follow me back so we can make a list. One of my clercks will take note of everything." Iangold says.

Together Iangold and Murphy take the Half-Orc family back. They meanwhile urging everyone to continue trading. With the militia now present it would be highly unlikely those robbers would try this a second time...
However damage is done and people begin to end their business after which they carefully leave for home. Most now leave in groups... no one dares to leave alone.

Iangold stands idle next to the trade bell...

"... sigh... this was meant to be a perfect day... first time the bell rings again this happens... "

Then he faces the Humble's Sword.

"You friends have done a fantastic job making this day possible. For now it seems nothing can be done here... from what Mr. Grumumak told us I seem to think whoever they were, they were spellcasters using disguises... I'm sure you can go running around town trying to find them but you won't find anything. Looks like we'll have to cut our losses today. I'm not to worried about the money we lost in refunding Mr.Grumumak... it's the bad publicity that bothers me...

Let's go home. Please allow me to show my gratitude to you by offering you dinner tonight. After all... dispite this little mishap... it's been a lucrative day..."
, he ads with a smile.

Probably in some vault or basement or some such. She hasn't seen any guards around the temple. Is the temple a soft target for a theft? Tuesday February 3rd, 2015 5:11:43 PM

Bliss reluctantly, and with a little persuasion from Mookie, accepts Iangold's invitation for having dinner. He'd rather go chasing bandits...

An interesting thought pops to Alleah's mind... those Ffloy people must be rather wealthy and there seem to be so few to protect their temple!

At the prospect of dinner Shel perks up and feels happy to return to town.

Hazel too is looking forward to dinner and asks Iangold if he's allowed to bring his fiancee.

"Of course you can! I'd be delighted to hear all plans about your upcoming wedding! Did you find a nice ring for her on the sales?"

After having spoken to Grumumak and his family, convincing them that trade in the Valley still is and will remain safe, Murphy holds out an arm and invites Shel to dinner. Hazel merrily tries to help Murphy as he talks to Grumumak but he's far to happy and distracted about the fact that Murphy just invited Shel to dinner. Besides, Shel's face turning red is priceless!

Shel not only has a red face... she also a bit confused.

"Hahaha... don't worry! It's not a date or something! C'mon... give me an arm and walk home friends!

Murphy takes Shel in one arm and grabs Hazel by the other. Together they go home. The Humble's Sword, Iangold and his clercks and whatever trader was still lingering. Soon the trade site is empty. The Trade Bell safely in the square... ready and waiting for another sale day!

Alleah will checks in with Quotiln to see how the man fared at the Trade Day. She's so keen to learn more about him, but knows if she pries too much she may scare him away. "Find any good trades today?"

She spends some time double checking the gems the party found earlier, still trying to discern their true value (earlier appraise check: 20)

After that will be a visit to the local blacksmith - Primula Pipeleaf. Alleah is still a bit concerned about the flyer the party found in the tavern looking for someone to vandalise her stall. She'll pay close attention to what the blacksmith says, and try and determine whether the woman has been threatened or coerced in any way.

Finally, a visit to go see Ian. The halfling girl will stop along the way to pick some wildflowers before seeking him out at the temple. "Good morning, Broker! I just wanted to thankyou again for a lovely dinner last night. These are for you" she extends her hand holding the slap-dash bunch of flowers "And no, no charge" she grins.

Wednesday February 4th, 2015 4:10:07 PM

Having spent a pleasant evening with Iangold, who also invited the Mayor, the Humble's Sword decide to go about their own ways for a couple of days.

Bliss makes use of the free time to visit the Woldian League of Adventurers in order to improve some obscure skills according to Mookie.

Alleah and Murphy, followed by Faoil who seems to feel a bit neglected since Hazel only has eyes for his lass's vibrant green eyes, go find Quotiln to see how the man's coping with his new life. Alleah will be pretty proud to learn that the former bandit has been looking for gardening tools!

Later the two check in with the blacksmith. Primula Pipeleaf hasn't been threathened or attacked yet. Her son hasn't quite forgotten the apple incident and smiles at Alleah from up in the attick where he was playing...

Murphy doesn't follow Alleah (and Faoil) as she goes back to find Iangold Laughshield. The Broker is quite speachless as he takes her wild flowers... "I well... thank you I guess... Given all you did to help me get installed and organise the sale days it was the least I could do!

Oh... as I come to think of it Miss Alleah, someone has come here asking around about you... he told one of my clercks to ask you to find him at the Belly Buster...
"

While Alleah looks for Broker Iangold, Murphy walks around town checking up on several traders. Most smile as they see him and shake hands with the young druid. Looks like many have made good profit with the saledays! No one seems very worried about the latest theft...

Hazel... the poor lad is lost in wedding lists... and Allouryn's eyes 'n arms. Well lad... when's the big day??? Shouldn't you start setting a date soon!? Seems Alouryn really gets along with Cora who has been planning the whole wedding with her!

Still distracted by Murphy's invitation Shel spends the following day pondering if the druid's invitation was strictly friendly or if he has other intentions...

My mother always told me that if someone does something nice for you that you should do something nice for them. You invited us to a lovely dinner and have trusted us with many important tasks. A simple bunch of flowers is nothing by comparison. Anyway, I should go see who this fellow is. No doubt Quotiln looking for me. Bye!" And with that, she gives a wave and departs from the temple of Ffloy to make her was to the Belly Buster.

Any thoughts of the battles or trials of the previous days is forgotten by Alleah. She is once again the happy, free-spirited girl enjoying life. She makes her way at a leisurely pace through the town, waving and smiling to all she meets, performing magical parlour tricks to put a smile on any child's face. It's a good time to be alive.

She had already gotten a bit bored, however with nothing going on. She was a hero now, and she owed Alleah 72 gold pieces. How was she going to repay her if a new job didn't come along soon? If Iangold doesn't come up with something for us to do in the next few days, I might have to see about trying to pick up some caravan guard shifts or some,thing. I hate owing people money!

Sardok sits a long while in the now-empty square, taking strong sips from his flask. Too many questions. Not enough answers.
If the Ogres were working for FEAR, why didn't they take the bell? If they weren't, what was their original plan for taking it? Sure, it's an artifact, but there are lotsa things lighter and more valuable than a bell.
And why use the orcs as shmucks? Are they a red herring, counting our strength? Or just some patsies that got rolled by professionals? That some small ball if FEAR is half as big as these guys say they are.
Sardok stands up, confident that he'll be seeing more orcs at some time.

He stands up goes to find Shel. He finds her lounging about in the town. He taps her on the shoulder and says, [b]"Wanna go start some trouble? I'm heading for the Belly Buster, gonna see what kind of entertainment they offer. Might start some of my own. Besides, I gotta fill up my flask."

Friday February 6th, 2015 6:50:47 AM

(Thursday Post: Thursday Snowboard Practice and 'Aprés Ski' ...
Friday Post will be in Saturday evening.
Monday post on Monday.)

Seeing Iangold's reaction makes Alleah smile so she reassures him that the flowers don't have any extra meaning other than a thank you for the lovely dinner... Assuming it's Quotiln who has asked about her she goes to Belly Buster on her own...

Shel's still pondering the reason why Murphy seemed to ask her out and then basically tried all he could not to make it seem too much of a romantic effort... So she wanders about town. Besides Murphy there's also the money issue that keeps her preoccupied... she still has a debt with Alleah and Shel definetely will repay her debts!

After having taken some training in archery Bliss uses all his spare time practicing his new ability to brew potions... I do wonder who will be the first to drink one of his concoctions... Mookie? Bliss? ... another clueless bystander perhaps?!?

(@Cayzle - I don't think it's interesting to go buy all you need for brewing in the CC... it would just be a lot of work for everybody. Do keep track on your char sheet and make sure to deduct the gold you spend - thanks
Alchemist gear or so you go buy in the CC indeed)

Furthermore Bliss also seeks out Murphy for some more combat training! Murphy Playing hide and seek is fine for the druid but target practice!?!

Sardok is lost in thoughts... why does F.E.A.R. use ogres for stealing the bell?! Was it F.E.A.R. in the first place who wanted them to steal the bell of were they working on their own?! Then why take a big heavy bell? Too much questions and no answers...

So Sardok decides to go find Shel, who's wandering through town, and then later perhaps go make trouble at the Belly Buster!

(@Brian - yes Sardok also needs to level up to lvl 5 my friend!)

-------------------------------------------

As Alleah walks into the Belly Buster her attention is immediately drawn to a table... one man sits at the table eating his steak while three others are standing in front of his table scowling at him with knives and clubs in hand... The man slowly continues to cut a slice of his steak and savour it slowly...

"You can all just politely sit down and have a drink no?"

Hazel continues his wedding preparations with Alouryn.
Faoil keeps following Alleah around, jumping in front of the girl. At the Belly Buster it whines, knowing he can't go in.
But he senses the tension when Alleah is addressed by the men (halflings?) and peeks in, growling.

DM Steven - I misinterpreted your "Right away"... I thought you meant you would set a date 'right away'... You probably meant to have the wedding 'right away' :-D Sorry there! Ok folks this is up to you all. If you would like the wedding to take place here and now I'm fine with it and you are given 3 to 5 posts to make it a fantastic party. Party away if you like!! We can of course fast forward a few in game days so you can have everuything prepared for the big day. I'm open to your suggestions! I do hope Kim's back by then for if we have this wedding I want all key players involved.

OOC: I'd prefer for Kim to be here for the wedding. Hazel and Alouryn have been friends of his and Shel's since the beginning. I don't think it would be right without him here. And knowing Murphy, I'm sure he would have a good long speech prepared for the festivities!

Shel would probably have been in the Buster eating dinner or lunch during Alleah's meeting. She was kind of just passing time until she found a way to make more gold to repay her friend. Eating would definitely have been a way to pass that time pleasantly.

Bliss says a happy goodby to the guys at the WLA. [OOC: Any time any PC or DM wants to do some WLA RP, I'm eager!]

Back in Humble's Ford, he hears the gang is gathering at the Belly Buster. Bliss, in tiny size as always, sneaks in and takes a seat. Likely no one has even noticed he arrived.

Sense Motive: 30 - Nat20!

The man sitting at the table must be quite self confident. He is staying in his seated position while three armed men stand before him. Gutsy.

Alleah's gut tells her that this situation is not the norm. She feels as if it could swing one way or the other. And of course, she elects to interfere...

"Drinks! What a marvellous idea!" she says loudly approaching the table with a smile and open arms "Perhaps in the spirit of peace and Trade Day you fellows would allow me to buy the first round? Actually, come to think of it, I do happen to have quite a nice bottle of cider with me. Straight from the Giggling Ghost itself. I daresay the barman here wouldn't appreciate us drinking something other than what he serves, but perhaps you fine gentlemen would like to take it as a gift to drink elsewhere? If not, then if you care to take a seat at the table over there" - she points at a table away from the steak-eating man "- I will order the first round. How about it? Are you going to say no to a girl offering to buy you a drink?"

(DM Notes: This bottle is an expired LnB gift. Non-magical now, but still a nice bottle of cider)

[DM StevenVdB] - "Drinks! What a marvellous idea!"

(Friday post)
(Monday post effectively on Monday evening)

Hazel and Allouryn are eager to getting married right away. As soon as everyone is back together it looks like the two will take the big leap!

A bit bruised from sparring with Bliss, Murphy goes to the house of his parents. Several of his brothers and nephews came to town to participate in the sale days. Looks like they too made a nice profit out of it all! They all cheer as they see Murphy entering! After a warming hug from his mother and a pat on the shoulder from his father he takes a seat at the dinner table. There's an abundance of pies, meatloaf, soup, stews, bread... and of course lots of fine wine and ale!! If the Leafwin Pipewood family gets together they do it in a way to remember!

Faoil accompanied Alleah to the Belly Buster where he must remain outside... however he senses the tension rize and stick is nose between the door sniffing and growling...

At the same moment Shel and Sardok are ordering their steaks at the Belly Buster. Sitting in a dim lit corner Alleah didn't see them when she came in. After all, her attention was completely drawn to the cool fellow...

Sardok taps Shel on the arm as he notices something is going on with Alleah. Both of them are on edge and if anything happens they will get up to 'help'...

Bliss notices Faoil sticking his nose through the door at the Belly Buster so he as well sneaks in. No one seems to notice the tiny fellow enter... after all... everyone is hoping to see a nice bar brawl soon!

( @Cayzle - ok, will remember to try and RP some of your WLA training next time - sorry)

Alleah's impressed by the self confident attitude the man sitting at the table just displayed. She senses he has good intentions only. He remains seated with three armed men in front of him... Her gut feeling tells her the situation is not the norm and once way or the other she hopes to swing it one way or the other...

The three are baffled as Alleah interferes and approaches the table with open arm offering to buy the first round of drinks!! Not only that but she also digs up a nice bottle of cider (ok with expired GG bottle). The three cool down a little untill Alleah wonders if they would prefer to drink the bottle elsewhere...

"You wannna get rid o'us lass?! You're just a smooth talker like this arrogant one! Get back or..."

The man (halfling indeed but aren't you all) can't finish his sentence for he falls unconscious on the ground! The one who was sitting at the table took advantage of Alleah's distraction and jumped up to give him a serious kick on his temple knocking him prone!
Before the other two are able to react he has a second one in a grapple!

"Now now... you refuse to accept such a fine offer from the girl?! How inpolite! But I'm sure we can settle this without bloodshed no? Miss Alleah... would you mind taking care of our last friend here?!"

Alleah is so baffled by the speed of this man that she gives no thought to how he knew her name. She supposes the group are developing a reputation in Humble's Ford.

She takes a step back from both men, her hands still raised. In the corner of her eyes she spots Sardok and Shel. At least she's not alone in here.

"Whoa whoa whoa! There'll be no fighting here by anyone. You want to settle this without bloodshed but you were the one who struck first. With respect, sir, I'm going to have to ask you to leave so that I can treat the wounds that you have caused. Best do so before the guard show up and charge you with assault"

Shel wasn't quite sure what she had just seen, but she knew that she wasn't going to allow Alleah to be caught in the middle of a brawl unprotected. A hero wouldn't let their friend get menaced by anyone!. Shel springs into action and moves toward her friend. "Leave her alone! All of you...". Shel motions for Sardok to join her. "He and I are here to make sure no one bothers her, because that's mean!". Shel grimaced at her warning....she was going to have to improve on her catchphrases.

"Well now Miss Alleah I have mastered many combat skills but I never understood the fine art of diplomacy... see these goons here came on to threathen me for no reason... I am only teaching them a lesson. Don't worry all they will have is a headache in the morning... they deserve a second chance don't they?! A third if tomorrow they threaten me again! Every one deserves a second chance!"

The one he held in a grapple goes limp and the third decides to make a run for it as soon as he sees Shel and probably Sardok interfering...

"Perfect!" the odd man says, "This we handled well! Please Miss share this bottle with me. "

Sardok didn't really understand what was going...at least until the man provided some badly needed and utterly convincing exposition. He had just grasped his coin-purse and was standing up when the man in the headlock went limp the third man ran for it. Well, that one would have to be taught loyalty. A brave man dies but once. A coward dies many times.
He casually swings out with Slumber, aiming for the nerve plexus along the jawline.

After the hit, Sadrok waggles his fingers almost at random and quickly makes Slumber disappear.

"Name's Sardok, friend," says Sardok walking up and shaking the Mysterious Stranger's hand. "After we throw this meat out, how about you fill us in and how you got so very very popular today?"

Sardok hauls the thugs outside.
And while doing so covertly loots their unconscious bodies with the efficiency of a professional.

Alleah takes a few cleansing breaths. The situation looks to have been disarmed, though she gets the impression it was only done so because the man chose for it to be.

Before the thugs are dragged outside, Alleah will use her Calming touch ability, which will heal any non-lethal damage done to them.

She sits down at the table with the man, and can't help but smirk. She likes his attitude, and he's right - everyone deserves a second chance. "You have me at a disadvantage, sir. You know my name, but I know nought about you. Well, save not to approach you brandishing a knife" She picks up the bottle from the table and inspects the label, before pouring a glass for each person present.

And you didn't seem to hurt them too badly, either. That's pretty neat.". Once she had a glass of wine poured, Shel took it and began sipping, waiting for the stranger to give some clues as to why he was here and protecting Alleah.

(It's a bit unclear who Sardok swings his sap at... the third man?)

Sardok swings his sap and allmost as quick as he dug up the weapon it dissapears again! Taking a few cleansing breaths Alleah considers the situation defused... although only because the stranger wanted it to. After Alleah used her calming touch on the two unconscious culprits Sardok throws them out... The man at the table closely observes your actions.

Shel pulls up a seat and introduces herself. She's impressed how this man was able to take the goons out without actually injuring them...

Faoil howls 'n growls as one the three runs out pf the Belly Buster. As soon as he passes by the dog, Faoil runs barking after him! Bliss is almost dragged with Faoil as he tries to stop the dog! Mookie caws with laughter expecting to see Bliss go flat on his nose!

Hazel spends the evening with the Tosscobbles. He and Alouryn are their guests and man Cora can sure cook! Hoping to please her soon to be husband Alouryn hopes to learn some of her recipees! She and Cora go into the kitchen to prepare desert... soon Hazel and Eldon can hear giggling from the kitchen!!

"Ah yes... my dear Hazel... you've got yourself a fine lady there and I can tell from a look in her eyes she's crazy about you! And I'm quite sure my Cora is teaching her some of her secret ingredents... you know some ingredients tend to have... well... you know right?!... , Eldon says with a smile...

Back at the Belly Buster Alleah hopes to learn the stranger's name...

"Tagnik'Zur 's my name Miss Alleah. Those were some nice gestures you and your friend Sardok here did... I happen to notice your sap," Tagnik'Zur says pointing at Sardok and then looking into Alleah's eyes, "and your spell...

You rightfully pointed that I have deliberately chosen not to actually harm these men even though I could just as easy have broken their necks...
" he adds to Shel, and then back again to Alleah, "for by my oath I belief everyone deserves a second chance. And I wonder, Miss Alleah, if what I heard about you is right, if you have what it takes to pledge your life living by the same oath... Would you be able to forgive he who robbed the old lady? Can you forgive the one who took a little child for ransom? Have you wondered what you will do the day you face the drunk who murdered your brother for a pouch of gold?! And... are you able to stand up to your friends here when they plan to execute the war lord who has slain a whole village burning the town's church with every wife and child in it??"

Tagnik'Zur closely observes Alleah's every reaction and expects an answer...

"Do you have what it takes??"

Back at the Leafwin Pipehoods meal takes till late that night. It's already long passed midnight when Murphy yawns and goes to find his comforting bed.

Alleah opens her mouth to answer the strangers questions, but no words come out. In fact, it takes a moment for her to gather her senses and start forming any sort of coherent sentence.

"You get straight to the point. I like that. Your questions are ... there are no words. Everyone deserves a second chance, but they must want that chance. How do you tell if someone deserves forgiveness? Is everyone deserving of forgiveness? You cannot just blindly forgive and excuse someone's behaviour. There must be some form of atonement or justice to any victims." Alleah pauses to take a sip of wine.

"I think I can forgive any who want forgiveness, but I expect them to try and make amends for their actions. For that reason, I wouldn't want anyone killed - no matter their actions. How can they atone if you kill them?"

Alleah gets the distinct impression she is being tested.

Sardok grinned openly at the man. If he didn't turn out to be a vampire, this was a man worth following!
He considered taking out Slumber to show it off. It was a good piece with fine workmanship. But he said he had seen it. No need to press the matter.
He kept grinning as the man, Tagnik'Zur, asked Alleah some _real_ questions. Questions that matter. Questions with no easy answer. THIS was interesting!

He called the barmaid over and ordered another round of drinks. Whatever this man had to say, Sardok didn't want him to have to hurry.

He tapped Shel on the shoulder to get her attention. "Listen to this, Little One. This is a man who Knows both of the Things. Too many people, they don't even know the First Thing, least of all the Second. And the Second, of course, is to know thy enemy.

The hardest one is the First. To know thyself. Both can be found. But there are some...there some that can teach you."

(thank you for the great posting so far folks! Keep up the good work. Thanks for posting for Kim also.)

Intrigued by Tagnik'Zur, Shel remains quiet. She wonders though if he was speaking truth about Alleah's brother being killed or was he just making up an example?!

Equally intereseted Sardok grinnes at the man. He taps Shel on the shoulder and eagerly awaits Alleah's reply...

Alleah gets the distinct impression she's being tested... Her replies sound honest... she thinks she can forgive any who want forgiveness however she can not blindly forgive...

"Ah I see, " Tagnik'Zur says slowly, "You think you can forgive but only he who wants to be forgiven... Who, might I ask, are you to judge to decide if someone wants forgiveness? Who is to die and who isn't! Isn't it all just a matter of perspective?! How can you understand someone's actions if you can not see what they see, feel what they feel or know what they know... ? Couldn't the one who robbed the old lady be struggeling to keep his baby fed and helplessly turn to stealing from the old wealthy selfish crone who refused him copper? Who's to say the war lord who burned the town wasn't a hero who destroyed a hive of vampires?! See... it's all a matter of perspective and from how I told you what they did you were already judging them ... Learn to understand that you do not hold the key to judge anyone.

You and your friends came to throw those three men out but... who says it wasn't I who threw them of their table first?! Have you seen why they drew knives at me?

See what they see,
Feel what they feel,
Know what they know

Only then Miss Alleah you can be the true judge to decide who's to live or die. And till then... everyone deserves to be forgiven...

There's much good inside you and I can tell you're eager to learn to do well. You refrain from hurting people. But why if you don't feel it in your heart to forgive them!?

I will ask you again Miss Alleah... do you have what it takes to pledge your life living by the same oath I swore... If yes, then Walk with me Sister and I will enlighthen your path.

Hazel agrees with the Tosscobbles and intends to marry Alouryn as soon as possible! Why not tomorrow!!? Even though his best halfling Murphy isn't there he sure expects the druid to back him up! He's quite confident Murphy will gladly accept. The young druid though enjoyes his soft bed... (Hoping for Kim to get back asap)

Alleah was right. She was being tested. What's more, she failed. The narrow-mindedness of her thinking was clearly pointed out by Tagnik'Zur. She is disappointed in her response, and wants to argue with the man "Decide who's to live or die? I'm yet to meet the person who deserves to die, and I hope I never do!".

But instead of arguing, she simply lowers her head and solemnly whispers her response "I... I think... No, I KNOW I can live my life with a love for others. It's what I was put on the Wold for. I know it. If you can enlighten my path, then I will follow"

Shel was confused. By Alleah and the strangers conversation. She was beginning to feel most unwelcome in that discussion. That conversation was immensely private, and Im not supposed to be a participant.. Also, by Sardok's words of wisdom. "Know thyself, and know thy enemy? Well, that's a fine motto to live your life, I suppose. But, where does knowing your friends work into that equation? Isn't that pretty important, too?"

Sardok HP 44/44 AC 21/16/16--Atlas2112
Wednesday February 11th, 2015 1:58:16 PM

Sardok grins at Shel's comments. "Oh of course, knowing who you can trust and how much is part of 'knowing thyself'. The phrase isn't so narrow, it means that thyself is all of you. Your equipment, the coins in your purse, your rations, your horse, and all the resources you can call on, from the friends who can assist freely to the mercenaries that will join your flag for coin.
Just as 'know thy enemy' does not always apply to the clash of arms. It means what obstacles are there between you and your goal? Are they obstacles you know of, and know how to get around? Can you get around them without costing yourself too much? Is it even worth it to get around them at all? Can you get to your objective by passing it completely? Or can you turn the obstacle into an opportunity? Do you know how? Is so, have you the means to do so?

Hence, the phrase is meant broadly, for it applies in all situations. From a game of cards in the back room, to the discussion of merchants over trade, to the clash of arms, to relationships with family, or friends. Even in...love."

Sardok stops talking and takes a drink of whatever is closest to his hand. He...he doesn't know why he said that. He certainly hadn't meant to.

Um...so, um...so too is it with our friend here," says Sardok, changing the subject to anything but himself. "He asked his questions, knowing that he could change the circumstances to anything else to make good Alleah wrong, no matter what she said. He knew his question, and he knew how she would answer. I know not his goal here, but I'm eager to find out!"

Alleah Feels dissapointed about what she answered... she has the feeling she failed the test but has she? Tagnik'Zur stands up from the table and seems to expect the same from Alleah, and only Alleah...

Shel's confused about the discussion. She feels this has become immensely private and she's not supposed to be here... she whispers to Sardok while she awaits to see what will happen next...

Followed by Faoil, Bliss walks into the Belly Buster. He orders a drink for himself and a bowl of water for Faoil. Per Mookie's advice he sticks to water... He doesn't quite understand what is going on between Alleah and the stranger... it's weird not knowing what she's up to... weren't they always two of a kind?!

Faoil's pretty content with the water and the takes a nap.

Sardok continues talking with Shel. He's concerned Tagnik'Zur's questions were too well chosen... knowing that he could change the circumstances to anything else to make good Alleah wrong, no matter what she said. He knew his question, and he knew how she would answer.
Sardok's keen to find out why he is here...

By now Alleah should understand... there are those in the Wold that are called Walkers... looks like Tagnik'Zur has just invited Alleah to walk with him..

When dawn breaks Murphy wakes up with the smell of fresh baked pancakes 'n waffles. Later he makes a tour through town. He learns that actualky the town is doing well! Trade's gone up, new businesses have started. Looks like Ffloy's followers realky know what they're doing...

Finally he joins his friends... as he walks into the Humble's Sword house all is quiet still... Faoil raises his head and storms out for a morning vist to the backyard. Every one else is still fast a sleep it seems!

WAKE UP EVERYONE!! IT'S A NEW DAY!

OOC - Kim might need some more time so I'm postponing the marriage. This means will get to the next module... I trust everyone's sheets are updated? Give me a thumbs up when everyone has his sheet done and reviewed!

That was some walk!

Murphy (Kim)
Thursday February 12th, 2015 2:46:47 AM

[And... I'm here, at least for the moment. Likely can't change CS until later next week - schedule is that full.]

Murphy is pleased to see signs of growth, an edging up of prosperity in this little town. Well, look at that. The Breezewater family has some sort of large oval picture window in the side of their Burrow that was not there last week. Nicely trimmed roof, too.

He whistles a song about songbirds his brother Kendry composed a few years back, then returns to the group's burrow after scoring some fresh eggs from Primula Pipeleaf - a side business to her and Hugo's armor and weapons shop, and fresh spinach and radishes sold from the garden of a neighbor, plus some loaves of warm fresh bread. He puts the kettle of water more directly over the warming flames to bring it to a boil for breakfast tea.

"ARISE AND SHINE. THERE'S GONNA BE A WEDDIN'!"

"So, are you and Alouryn ready to make a run at it, Hazel? My mum found a lovely set of satin sheets from some of the elves just outside of Angel Springs, and wants you and your bride to have them for your wedding night... unless you'd prefer loose straw." He ducks and bobs so as to avoid any retaliatory fist to the shoulder from his best friend. "My father says he can get you some good musicians for the dance. I've been looking for Hinbilly, but he seems to be elsewhere."

He sees Alleah. "Well, sweet Alleah - you look pretty happy for having skipped your beauty rest. I heard tell you met quite the question-asker at the Belly Buster. He still around? I'd like to find out more about what he's aiming at. Or, maybe you can clue me in while we enjoy a good breakfast." He puts the big skillet on the stove and works on a good-sized cheesy omelette, cooked with olive oil, onions, garlic, mushrooms, some sliced olives, and other subtle and tasty herbs. He cuts it into several slices, cuts the bread into like-sizes, sliced in half through the soft part, with top and bottom forming base and roof for the fresh omelette pieces.

"Bliss, Mookie! What's your pleasure? Sardok - help us eat this grub. Shel - we've a breakfast to make your cheeks even more rosie. Quotiln - thanks for getting the early breakfast started." He busies himself rousing the household, and helping to get them fed. For Cora Calico he pours a small bowl of milk, and has a mix of fish and soft vegetables for her in an adjacent dish. "Now, soft one, you need to earn your part here by keeping the mice out, right?" He runs his fingers down the sides of her back, one finger travelling lightly along her spine. The cat's back naturally arches as he does so, then relaxes as she digs into the fish concoction.

Hazel is so nervous that he don't try to hit his friend.
"Yes, I am. Time to surrender myself to the girl, Murphy. Ready to be best man?"
He goes to take a long good bath, as he must show himself in his best for today, and tries to get his clothes as clean as he is able to.
He will help prepare the place, and get the food. All the food possible. If he has to empty Humble's Ford from all of it's provisions, so be it!
Of course, he will ask Alouryn's favorite place to help with the preparation. I hope the Belly Buster take orders for take out!

Bliss needs some party clothes! He goes to a local tailor and buys something nice. He reverts to normal size so he can buy "off the rack" as they say. Since he has no idea what to get, he just tells the shopkeeper that he needs clothes for his friend's wedding.

If she has one, he gets a fancy hat for Mookie too.

He also needs a wedding gift! Probably Hazel will be away from home most of the time, and his bride will be lonely. So he gets the happy couple a puppy. It can keep her company and be a watchdog and even be a friend for Faoil! He also buys some puppy things, like a doggie bed, from the lady at the puppy shop.

Okay, Bliss is ready.

At the wedding, he is on his best tiny behaviour, but he does really enjoy the dancing.

Perform Dance (trained) 21.

[DM StevenVdB] - "ARISE AND SHINE. THERE'S GONNA BE A WEDDIN'!"
Thursday February 12th, 2015 5:21:02 PM

After his tour through town Murphy arrives at the Sword's burrow in a happy mood! Alleah comes in shortly after him. Looks like she hasn't slept much last night. While Murphy prepares a superb breakfast Alleah freshens up.She appears to be quite happy dispite the sleep deprivation.

As soon as Hazel pops his head in the kitchen Murphy fires away asking if he's up for the big step!! Looks like he is...
While Hazel is preparing for his big day Bliss hopes to find the perfect wedding gift, party clothes for him and perhaps also a hat for both him and Mookie... The handsome girl brings out a few nice costumes.

"With the Sale Day I've been able to get le hands on some of the finest fabrics from the valley! Here feel this... I reckon this safire blue will match your sparkly eyes best! And this fit just perfectly matches! oh and here's an Angel's Spring billycock! oh... perfect!! And perhaps this tiny one for your friend here?! Now aren't you a handsome lad... euh... sorry Sir... I didn't mean to be so straightforward but I heard about the wedding and all so I'm looking forward to...". It's unclear for Bliss if she now talks to him or Mookie...

Once Bliss has chosen his party costume Bliss goes to find the couple a puppy... after all, with Hazel on the adventurous path Allouryn will be alone quite often.

Back at the House it took all day to prep Hazel for his day. Cora helps Alouryn.

And the... at last Hazel's big day has come!

(there's just one post for the actual marriage so make it count - next Monday we kick of with the next module!!)

Shel was overjoyed at the wedding preparations. She'd been anxiously awaiting the celebration of her two friends. She ran home and found some of her nicest party clothes to wear. As she was currently in debt, she couldn't buy anything new, but she had plenty of clothes that would do nicely, in a pinch.

Shel trailed after Alouryn, helping her get all the small details together for the wedding. There were always a ton of small things that had to be just perfect, so her goal was to help her friend on her special day.

Being "one of the girls" - Alleah spends the morning with Alouryn. She doesn't know much about refinement, but she is able to lend a hand with coordination and that sort of thing. Plus she knows where the kitchen is, so is able to keep an eye on food and drink.

Alleah will use one of her Calming Touches on Alouryn (Removes "the fatigued, shaken, and sickened conditions" - perfect for the bride-to-be).

She does what she can to proof-read any vows, but alas, words escape Alleah today (Int check: 6)

Murphy (Kim)
Friday February 13th, 2015 5:39:30 AM

Murphy has Hazel stop for a moment. "Breathe in deeply, then let it all out. Again, breathe in, fill your lungs - hold a moment... all right, blow it out. Now, in... out. Two more times." He looks at his friend. "Does that help you calm down a bit? You are making a wise decision. Alouryn is the right one for you. You are Bob Danderfluff LaRue, and you will do great. Because - you're gaining a precious jewel, a rare ruby, a wife who is praiseworthy. And YOU will be a good husband to her. Strong, and brave, and loyal, and tender, and faithful, and hobbity."

Murphy looks somber for a moment. "But, Hazel, I have to tell you something." He pauses, and takes three deep breaths himself. "I dare say you will have children." He lets that sink in. "...Who will keep you up at night. Who will learn to crawl, and walk, and talk. If they're like you, they'll learn to swim, and run, and climb. They will roughhouse with Faoil. They will be cute, and irritating, and heartwarming. Teach them things. To throw, and catch. Teach them kindness. Teach them resiliance. Always let them know that your wife is number one, and that they better not try to play you one against another. Of course, you and she will need to work that out ahead of time, otherwise, little ones can be sneaky like that."

He has Hazel sit down for some tea for a few minutes. "All right - you have had the mayor volunteer to officiate. You have had Iangold likewise offer. A cleric of Flower definitely needs to be involved. So, while I was in Angel Springs for WLA training, I asked that at least one of the top clerics of their faith come out today, and remain until after the wedding ceremony. They said that would be done - but she hasn't arrived yet, and I don't know which one it will be. Alouryn's friends - some of her sisters in the faith - are keeping a watch out for her.

"You don't have to have Mayor Bumbleluck or Iangold Laughshield head it up if you don't want to - but if you're willing, you can offer either or both of them some role in the ceremony. Hey, a prayer for prosperity for your marriage couldn't hurt, right? I'd suggest you have the cleric of Flower officiate.

"If you want me to help, or say something at the wedding, let me know. Now, I need to go talk with Shel. Oh, and Hazel? If people offer you drinks, I mean with alcohol in them? Thank them, tell them you'll be happy if they want to take a sip in honor of your nuptials, but you plan getting married sober, with eyes wide open. I saw a fool drunk at his own wedding, and it was fairly disgusting."

"All right - any questions or assignments for me?" He listens to whatever Hazel has to ask of him.

After hearing him out, he says, "One more thing. You two were meant for each other. Destined. So, no fear. Right? She is yours. You are hers. Be the best hobbit you can be for her.

"And, if you need anything from me, just say the word." The druid looks upward. "Heavens above, hear us. Witness what is to be. And watch over this Hazel here. He needs all the help he can get. Amen!"

He punches his friend in the arm, then heads out to meet with Shel.
=========

With Shel, Alouryn, and Cora, et al
"Hey, girls. How go things? Hazel is pretty excited about this. Has anyone from Flower's Temple in Angel Springs arrived yet?" Murphy asks. He gives Alouryn, then Shel, then Cora Tosscobble a light kiss on the cheek. "You are lovely. Absolutely. Alouryn, Hazel is one lucky fellow. And, as his best friend, I think you won a prize in him, too.

"Would you want me to talk with the Mayor and with Iangold about any role you want them to have in the ceremony? Both of them have offered their services, but I spoke with Hazel, and I think a cleric of your order might be the best to run the main part of the ceremony. Or did you have something else in mind, Alouryn? Or you, Shel? Cora, do you think that you and Eldon might say something short at the wedding?"

He listens to their ideas and suggestions.

"So, will we start the ceremony at six, then? Perhaps an hour - with music, and processions, the ribbon dance of the acolytes of Flower, and the little speeches, and the vows, and the kiss, and the presentation, and the cheers, and the customary "Our Friends Are Married Now!" song that follows just about every wedding I've ever been to here at Humble's Ford. Then we'll go into the dancing and eating, twirling around, throwing flowers."

"So, tonight, the burrow that you and your husband so kindly gave us, Cora, for Humble's Sword - that will be reserved for the newlyweds. My family can put up as many of us as are needed. But as for me: I will stay outside the burrow, standing watch as is the role of the best man, ensuring that none bother them - at least none too much!" He thinks a moment. "I'll see if Sardok and Bliss want to help - make sure I don't fall asleep."

He asks Shel if she can organize some of the girls to set up candles throughout the burrow, and flowers, and make certain the bed is done up right and smooth. He says he'll take care of the musicians - Kendry and Airin just stopped in to visit the family after their honeymoon, and have to leave in the morning, but his brother promised to play the lute and harp, and another brother a hand drum outside their window for a short time in the evening. There are other musicians for the wedding and dance. "Airin promised she will not sing too loudly. She is funny. She sings all right, but thinks her voice is not good enough to please others' ears." He looks to Alouryn. "She just came off her honeymoon, kiddo, so if you want any counsel from someone who just embarked on the same type of journey you're entering, I can send her by. Likely you and she will just giggle together a lot."

Murphy (Kim)
Friday February 13th, 2015 6:08:48 AM

Mayor Bingo Bumbleluck
Murphy seeks out Mayor Bumbleluck. "Sir, you offered to help out at the wedding of Hazel and Alouryn. A cleric of Flower will be taking them through their vows, but they would be honored if you would be so kind as to say a few words at their wedding this evening. You have seen both of them in action on a few occasions, and know what quality people they are. And your skillful hand in governing Humble's Ford these years show your perspicacity. Drop a few words of wisdom for their benefit, may it please your honor. Your wife and daughter will be there tonight, won't they?" He listens to the Mayor's reply, and responds as may be appropriate.

Broker Iangold Laughshield
He next looks up Iangold Laughshield. "Broker Iangold, a few weeks ago you offered your services for the wedding of Hazel - Bob Danderfluff LaRue, and of Alouryn Buttercup Bumblebottom. They were wondering if you might have a special blessing, or prayer, or the like, wishing them a good and prosperous life together. Is that something you would feel comfortable doing? Mayor Bingo Bumbleluck will be there. A cleric of Flower from Angel Springs will take the couple through their vows.

"You and your fellow brokers are welcome to attend the wedding, and the party following." He takes in the reply from the cleric of Ffloy, and responds accordingly.

Madame LaRue
He meets briefly with the herbalist whose Herbarium lies close by his own family's burrow. "As Bob Danderfluff LaRue will marry Alouryn Buttercup Bumblebottom this evening, and since you are the closest one to being his relative that I know of... would you be willing to represent Bob's - that is, Hazel's - family for him at the wedding?" he asks her.

"Also, if you have any herbs or unguents or the like you think might be good for a newlywed couple, I would be happy to purchase something - but, if you are willing, it will have to be on credit. I used up most all my money getting trained by the Woldian League of Adventurers out in Angel Springs. You know me and my family, though - I will be good for it."

Center for The Enlightened Spirituality & Arcane Arts
Busy, busy Murphy makes time to speak with a few teachers at the CESAA, and invites them and their students to come to the wedding tonight. "Fireworks - safe ones - might be nice at some point at the party!"

Murphy (Kim)
Friday February 13th, 2015 6:38:03 AM

More rounds...
Murphy Leafwin Pipewood also stops by with invitations for the Second Dinner Club at the North Tower (where he lets Veseley Vortence, Tiana Taithen, and Bazeck Breezelee know about his mention to the CESAA concerning how delightful some fireworks at the after-wedding party would be, and might they be up to providing the students some guidance - and augmentations?); Primula Pipeleaf at her Smallholding Farrier, and her husband Hugo at Slings and Arrows; Slings and Arrows to ensure that Hugo and Primula Pipeleaf get personal invitations;

He asks Sardok and Bliss - and Mookie - if they will go through the town and invite folks to the evening ceremony and party following. "Here in Humble's Ford, people bring lots of food and drink to wedding parties. Can you see about getting enough tables to hold it? Oh, and chairs, benches. And maybe speak with our new constable about having the militia in attendance? Oh, Mulberry Drinkwater would be most offended if she does not receive a personal invitation." He lets them know where she lives. "Likely a bunch of the men would be offended if they don't see her at the wedding!" He thinks, then says, "Let Pirnook Deeppockets of the General Store know that the couple would be honored by his presence at the wedding. Maybe he would be willing to lend some tables and chairs for the event, but more likely will ask for rent. Ah, perhaps best just to invite him, and not hint around at him helping out." He scratches his head. "Just feel free to invite anyone you think. Maybe get some youngin's to help spread the word."

Murphy seeks out Candy BadApple. "Alouryn loves you as a sister, Candy. We don't talk together much, you and I, but I appreciate you. Can you lead some of your fellow clerics and acolytes in a dance of blessing for tonight's ceremony?"

Back to the bridegroom
Murphy stops by his house, picks up a few changes of clothing to bring to the Humble's Sword burrow, verifies with his mother Bekka that Aunt Nilli will be coming, learns from his father Samell that he has a great set of musicians, "including Bite-sized Blazing Bill from Plateau City, with the fastest fingers on the lute you've ever heard in your life," and brings a few younger siblings in tow, then gets back to Bob in the afternoon. "The town is abuzz, Hazel. I think people will remember this wedding for some time to come. Now, have you thought what you want to say to Alouryn?"

He has his sister Juditha and brother Samki run some errands, and gather news about how things are going as the sun moves through the afternoon.

As the festivities start in full swing, a dagger from the past twists in Sardok's gut. But he doesn't want to spoil their fun with his fugue so he goes back to the Belly Buster and finishes his steak. Then he pays the tavern wench in advance for a room...and the bottle.

He's heard it said that being in love just means you've got some thing to lose. He could no longer argue with that.

Every drink is a toast to the same person. The person he came to this Powers-forsaken grove with. The person he had to lose.

"Where are the bodies?"
"What happened?"
"We weren't gone that long."
"What did they do with them?"

He wakes up in the morning.

As the hour grew closer, she found herself getting more and more excited.

Bliss is glad to help with the celebrations. He runs errands and fetches things and laughs at everyone's jokes!

At the wedding itself, he sings and dances -- Bliss is an especially good dancer! (skill check from last post)

He eats hugely. In fact, when it is time for cake, he changes his Reduce Person to Enlarge Person so he can have an especially GIANT size piece of cake!

His one serious moment is when he has a private moment with Hazel. "This is such a great day!" he says. "But you might want to wait until you retire to have kids. Wowsy, it can be hard for a kid to have a parent who is an adventurer."

But then it is back to the party!

[DM StevenVdB] - "By the Love of Flower I pronounce you husband and wife"
Sunday February 15th, 2015 11:14:51 AM

(too bad... I was waiting for Hazel to post... after all he's THE most important one to post right now! As said, and strengthened by the PTB the wedding is only allowed to take one paragraph in a post - I'll take the risk of getting scowled at by making this a full post concerning the wedding. Tomorrow the next module starts.)

Shel, Alleah and Murphy run around town all day to make the final preparation for the wedding. Murphy spends most of his time talking to... well... almost the entire town and all the officials to making sure his best friend's wedding will take place in the best circumstances!

Hazel is a pack of nerves though... Murphy talks to him trying to calm the poor fellow. Somehow the talk about children and how they behave might not be ideal to calm the ranger! Faoil too might get worried especially since it seems those little ones will consider Faoil a fantastic live toy!! He softly yelps...
Shel looks after Alouryn and make sure the girl doesn't get cold feet...

Murphy takes us his role as wedding planner very seriously and like he wanted the ceremony starts at six that evening...

The Cleric of Flower stands waiting for the happy couple. It's a pitty of course that the temple is now in the hands of the Followers of Ffloy... otherwise the wedding of course would have taken place there! Instead Allouryn has asked to have the wedding near the banks of the crescent river. Not too far from the Humble's Sword Burrow.

So the Cleric of Flower stands with the river banks behind her. Murphy's brother Kendry softly playes the lute. Airin wisely sings not... Mayor Bumbleluck, accompanied by his wife and daughter, and Iangold Laughshield are honorary guests. Neither was dismayed that Alouryn chose a Cleric of Flower to perform the ceremony. The Second Dinner's Club seemingly did not accept Murphy's invitations. In fact... they didn't even open! Ah... those three have always been kinda strange.

The ceremony doesn't take too long. The Cleric of Flower wraps a 'Zeoll's Berrywreath' around Hazel and Alouryn's hands. The Goodberries glow. "May you forever live with the love of Flower and by the Love of Flower I pronounce you hustand and wife!!"

Candy Badapple has come to the wedding to congratulate Alouryn. Some of the other Badapples can be seen standing in the back of the crowd but they don't feel compelled to come any closer.

Then there's the banquet and the party!!!
Students from the academy spice up the evening with a wonderful firework like Murphy begged for. Some of the arrows go wide and almost landed in the middle of the crowd but luckily nothing bad happens... Kendry has left his lute aside and now dances with his own wife. Instead now a band chosen by Shel playes some uplifting tunes Alleah and Hazel will most certainly like!

Several are quite surprised as they see Bliss cast Enlaarge Person on himself... but as soon as they see him taking a giant size piece of pie everyone understands!

It's well passed midnight when Alouryn and Hazel are escorted to the Humble's Sword Burrow. It's decorated with countless flowers and ribbons. Inside candles and flowers also decorate the whole house...

Murphy that night stands guard in front of the house...

Sardok has his own demons to fight... demons from the past... He drinks more than he should and passes out. The next morning he wakes up with a fantastic headache...

-----------------------------------

Morning comes... there's evidence of the wedding party everywhere. Murphy's eyes are heavy. Sardok's got a headache and wakes up next to the dance floor. Shel, Alleah and Bliss have slept at Murphy's parents. Most sleep in late but when waffles and pancakes are prepared at the Leafwin Pipewoods the house soon smells waking up everybody...

Sardok HP 44/44 AC 21/16/16--Atlas2112
Sunday February 15th, 2015 10:36:08 PM

Sardok rubs his bleary eyes and kindly asks the gnomes mining his skull for gold to stop. The gnomes must be deaf because the pounding goes on.
Still with eyes closed, he gropes about and comes to the conclusion that he's -somehow- next to what appears to be a dance floor. 'That's alright,' he thinks. 'Everything is fine as long as I kept my codpiece on. I -did- keep my codpiece on, right?'
He skips asking question the universe might never answer and slowly stands. He begins the time-honored trek of searching his soul as to why he ever did that in the first place. Then, fearing that he might actually answer that question, he stops asking, and begins the epic sojourn: To Find Water And Eggs. Or perhaps some more booze. Eggs are better but beggars can't be choosers.
Or something.

The sickly sweet smell of maple syrup and pancakes wakes Alleah from a good nights sleep. She stretches in bed and feels completely at ease. And is that a hint of bacon in the air? Hmmm... with all the others around that will likely go soon.

Alleah tears herself away from the comfort of a warm bed and dresses herself for breakfast. Being a minor, she didn't drink much at all the previous night. From memory it was only one mug of cider.

She makes her way to the breakfast table to see how the others fared.

"Hmmm... If I became the cleric to discover a cure for hangovers I could be rich" she smiles as she helps herself to a warm mug of cocoa.

Murphy (Kim)
Monday February 16th, 2015 11:43:29 AM

Murphy is about to head over to his family burrow, all apparently well within, when young Juditha and Samki bring two laden, covered platters. The druid knocks three times. "Bringing breakfast, good friends!" he announces, waits a beat, then opens the door, and helps his sibling bring in the food.

"Take your time, lovebirds," Murphy says.

Juditha calls out, "Mama sent warm waffles, clotted cream, strawberries, raspberries and blueberries. Sausage links and bacon, warm bread, butter, cut melons, limes, a huge omelette, and sweets."

Samki adds, "And sauces. And hot tea. And a bottle of Uncle Orby's sweet mead."

"Thank you, Juditha, Samki. We will leave them be." Murphy shepherds them out as he sees Juditha craning her neck to see if she can see anyone... but the marriage suite is well away from the entryway and dining room.

As they head back to the Leafwin Pipewood home, Murphy fails at stifling a couple of yawns. "Thanks sis, brother."

He comes in, sees family and friends. "That was a good wedding. Thanks, everyone. All is well at the honeymoon burrow." He picks up one waffle. "I'm going to bed." He bites into the waffle as he shuffles off to catch some rest.
