"Trolls and goblins living in peace... nonsense.", Hazel says. Still carrying Tiana he attempts to find Veseley...
Alleah doesn't want to waste time reading the journal. She'd rather evacuate! Shel shares Alleah's thought! Either evacuate or just activate that infernal portal!
Listening to the girls talk Hazel wonders what would happen to the Protection of the Valley when this tower falls...
Bliss exclaims they are right! and they have a girl to save!! He mounts his featered friend and just flies into the Portal!!!!
"I've got a bad feeling about this." Sardok sighs... And jumps into the portal following Bliss!!
For just a few minutes Murphy wasn't paying attention but he was trying to piece some things together! Then he hears Bazeck shout!!
"NOOOO!!!!
You're friends don't know what they're doing!! We've worked so hard to open the rift! Only here in this tower we managed to summon the magic we needed!! Now..."
But Bazeck can't finish his sentence!
Alleah's words go lost in the screams and shrieks that seem to come from the portal!
The tower shudders!! The portal sends bolts of lightning all around! Purple smoke just blasts out of the portal now!! Each of you gets grabbed by some electrical whip... It thwirls around you! All that remain in the tower get lifted off the ground!! Hazel holding Tiana... Murphy, Alleah, Shel... Even Bazeck is levitating! From beneath the smoke a motionless body is lifted also!
Outside everyone is screaming and shouting! Faoil barks and howls! Feeling his master is in dire peril the loyal dog runs into the tower!!
Wait!! You're not levitating!!! The ground is falling beneath you!! The tower COLLAPSES!!!
Then the portal appears to grow in size and sucks up everyone still in the tower... With you all smoke too is sucked into the void!!
The portal implodes!! And in this appocalyptic occurence, the tower comes crashing down...

Silence...

With the ring of the implosion still in your ears you find yourselves.. no where, with moving shadows all around warning, scaring, suffering... Travelling... But to where?!?

In another vision you all see the young Elven girl again... this time she kneels covering her face in tears and fear!
The cinematographic vision moves backwards until you also see the back of a large man. He carries a vicious looking bow... Very slowly the man grabs an arrow and pulls back the string... no sound can be heard but you can almost feel the girl cry in terror!! He holds the string back and you know he's smiling... Savouring this moment...
... SCHWING ...
the vision moves slowly to a different angle... the girl lies quietly on the ground. A large arrow sticking in her head... blood, with an iridescent color, slowly follows her delicate chiseled cheekbones and drips from her face forming a small pool on the strange soil... her face once porcelain perfection is now a deformed death mask... He eyes, once vibrant with life now stare into Oblivion.
The vision focusses on a small drop of blod that forms on her chin... The drop grows heavier untill is looses its grab and falls down in slowmotion. As it splashes into the small pool of the Elf's blood it forms a circular shape of tiny drops that jump up...
... THOSE EYES!!!...
You are all shaken from this dreadful vision when suddenly prying eyes look straight at you!
......
Flashbacks of childhood, times of fear, joyous happenings twisted into something horrible as you travel for a period of time beyond measure... only to arrive at the heart of the realm of shadows and nightmares...

Shel had certainly never experienced any sensation like that before. She was paralyzed and then flung through the gate. She wished it would have been a sensation with no sights or sounds, rather than the awful visions she saw while being taken through the portal. "Is everyone here? Is the town okay? Can anyone tell where we are," Shel was full of questions, despite suspecting no one knew the answers.

Like a child waking from a nightmare, Alleah screams in absolute terror.
"I'm here" she responds as she gasps for breath "Did anyone else see that? I saw my parents and ..." Her voice trails off.
But she draws her mind from her own visions, and reflects on the scene she saw of the young elven girl. As a Walker now, she knows she must strive to be a beacon for peace and love. But that elven girl. The way she died. Alleah struggles with an unfamiliar emotion. Rage. She wants that man to pay for what he did. She clenches her fists tighter and tighter, trying to use physical pain to fight her emotions.

Murphy, once things start shaking, dives back toward the fallen books, trying to grab up a couple of them. Something big is about to happen, he thinks he might be pulled into that portal, and any chance for additional knowledge he grasps for. He misses one of the two he tried to pick up, but snags on and puts it firmly under his arm.
The shaking grows, the floor falls away, and... whoooaaaaa!
Then come the changing views. The young elf girl, and her death by the bow of a monstrous man. Focus on the drop of blood. He thinks of woldsblood as that image fills his senses.
And now, he, who looks, is looked at. Eyes. Malevolent eyes. Then the swirling of past events, twisted, malformed, revised, good bent toward evil.
He looks around. "Kashmar," he says.

My friends... By now you must have understood that your characters no longer are in the peaceful Humble's Ford... They have arrived in the lands of Shadow and Nightmare. A place between the Lands of the Living and the Land of Rest. A place where neither exists or where neither lives seperated from one another.
It is a land of horror. If you react appropriately to the things you see and understand that here, every sense is on fire making things seem more real, etc. that I won't make you roll for horror, madness, and fear checks as often. Roleplay the fear and I'll see that you don't die of it. So there is a bit of metagaming involved in roleplaying your fear. You're characters shouldn't be afraid of everything, but neither should they refuse to react to the things they will be seeing.

When going through the portal Hazel lost hold of Tiana and both of them rolled onto the violet grasses... Tiana sits in her knees staring North... Fixed on whatever it is she sees there... Pointing a finger as if to warn you to stay away from there...
Hazel's attention however is drawn to a soft yelp... FAOIL!! The dog ran into the tower when it collapsed and somehow got sucked into the portal also! The poor dog is shivering and has his tail between the legs and his ears lowered...

Murphy tries to grab a few books or papers before he gets sucked into the portal. He got hold of a tome on the construction of a Golemn... As he arrives he remembers an old bedtime story his nana used to tell to him and Kendry... A tale on Kashmar.
Bliss and Mookie know not what happened to them...
Bazeck immediately looks around to Tiana and Veseley. The latter apparently regained consciousness by going through the portal!
Slowly you all take in your surroundings...
The light cast by the great lavender moon is the first thing you notice, giving you, your friends and your surroundings a pale, almost grey cast.
Shadow is the only thing that escapes it, becoming deeper in contrast, darker, and inky black.
The air is cool, making it easy to move, although after a time it has a nasty habit of sinking under the skin and chilling the bones.
The horizon contains the sloping curve of distant hills. It is at the peak of these hills that a castle can be seen - a tiny, distant thing across a broad sweep of misty plain. It glints promisingly, like a dark jewel. It's exactly there Tiana's finger points to.
Behind you, the portal collapses leaving behind only a lingering image on your retinae...

The most strange thing about this place had to be the moon...the lavender color was upsetting to Shel. She'd grown quite fond of the Wardd moon, with her book on the topic, and her little Wardd stone necklace. Somehow those things didn't seem to have too much bearing in her life, for the time bwing. She shuddered at the thought.
However, when Tiana spotted the castle, Shel felt a moment of slightly less dreading, as there might be a place to take respite from this awful strange light, and the cold air. The Ford was never this cold, Shel thought.
Shel gulped at her next thought. "It is so far to that castle. Will we be able to get all the way to there? What kinds of strange creatures live here in the day, or is this night?". She had no idea.

"My nana Glatine - Grandma Eglantine - was watching over us for a bit when our folks had some traveling to do together. I think they really just wanted some time away from their brood for a bit. The second night at their place, I woke up in a sweat, terrified, as my brother Kendry was shaking me, telling me to wake up. Seems I had gotten up, eyes closed, and was running around the room screaming. Later Kendry told me it was not the screaming that woke him up, but me stepping on his stomach.
"Anyway, when I opened my eyes and saw him there, for a moment I could not tell the difference between him and the monster that had been chasing me, and I screamed again. Grandpa Fermin came in with a dagger in hand, but tucked it away when he saw what was happening.
"Nana Glatine was soon by his side and said, 'Now, anyone who wants to know what just happened, then come with me.' She took me into her sitting room, and Kendry came along with.
"She put me in her lap on her rocking chair, had Grandpa Fermin bring me some water, and began to tell me stories. They were stories about the land of the dark horse - a mare, a mare of terror, and a place of shadows. She called it Kashmar. Her stories were not very comforting at first. But I listened. She said it is a place that we sometimes visit in our dreams.
"Her tales were of visitors to Kashmar. Then she said, 'Now, Bumblebee, as you can see it is not a pleasant place - though at times it might start out seeming that way. But it is a very important place. All of us have fears. We do not understand things, and that can make us afraid. We think bad things might happen to us, or those we care about, and that can make us afraid.
"'Now, when we are afraid, we might do different things. We might try to run away. Sometimes that is a good thing to do. If we run, we may escape danger. Or sometimes we might try to fight against what gives us fear. That can be a good thing to do. Sometimes we feel helpless, that there is nothing that we can think to do, that we are trapped, that we cannot escape. When we feel that way - would you like to know a secret?' she asked.
"'A secret?' I asked her back.
"'Yes, a secret,' she repeated. I nodded that I wanted to hear.
"'Here is the secret. When you feel trapped - look for a small thing. An unexpected thing. Because with every fear we have, there will always be a way to go through that fear, and travel past the fear. So, when you have a bad dream, look for a small thing, that you can use to defeat a big thing. A pebble is a small thing. But if a pebble lodges itself in your enemy's shoe, it can slow him down, make him halt until he deals with the pebble. An arrowhead is a small thing, but if it is placed on the end of a shaft of wood, and loosed through the air through the power of bent wood and a small string of sinew - that arrowhead can wound or kill an enemy. Small grains of salt can kill the terrible slug which comes to eat the rumberry leaves. Small things defeat big enemies.
"'A large door, locked, might keep you trapped. Your father learned how to use small things to defeat the door, even if he had not the proper key. He once saved his life, and your mother's, by using a pin she had in her hair.
"'So, Bumbles, when you have visions from Kashmar, big visions of bad monsters - look for the small things. Sometimes what looks like a bad monster in dim light, turns into a soft kitty cat when it comes into the full light. Do not always trust what you see in Kashmar as being true. For lies can cause us to be afraid. Find the truth, overcome the fear. Look for the small things to defeat the large enemy. Look for the good light to overcome the dark places.
"'When you feel trapped, always keep in the back of your mind, "I am only trapped if I stop trying. I will keep trying." Say that, lad. Say it.'
"'Say what, nana?'
"'I will keep trying.'
"'Ah. So, if I have a bad dream, I say that?' I asked.
"'Say it, lad.'
"'I will keep trying. I will keep trying. I will keep trying,' I answered her.
"'Good. Listen more, grandson. Dreams prepare us for life. And life prepares us for dreams. Even if you find yourself in a kashmar dream, and wake up - do not quit thinking about the dream. As you come awake, give yourself the solution. Change the direction of the dream. Turn a small thing into a big thing. And make the big, bad things into small, harmless things. And keep trying. That way, that way, Murphy, you win. That is how you win. Do not look upon Kashmar as only a place of fear. Look upon it as a place to grow strong, a place to overcome.'
Murphy scratches his nose. "That is what she said that night. Later she told me, too, that the place of shadows is a place to learn humility. 'If you are not humble, you will not just stumble, you will fall.'
"Later I learned that most people call it Koshe Marr. But I first learned of it as Kashmar."

"I am sorry you suffered in the land of shadows, Bliss. Whatever happened there, perhaps it will help prepare you in some way we do not yet understand for what lies ahead."

"Do you have any counsel for us? Tiana seems to point a warning finger toward yonder castle. What could better entice us to travel that direction?"
Marking the place
Murphy takes his bearings, following the horizon, the hills, the place where the portal was. He walks over, looks at the ground, and makes an X in the ground with his foot. He looks about to see if there are a few rocks he might pile up in that spot. He does not want to forget where it was they began their sojourn in this land.

Hmm... I know!" Alleah grins wildly, and then tries to cast a spell that may have somewhat unpredictable results when cast in these lands.

Mookie turns his head, this way and that. "Me and the Boss were here before. I know it, and I know we're in trouble, Kid. This is the Nightmare Plane, that the Lord of Filth created. When the Boss's group was here, there was a tavern where you could find a door to leave. Have no idea if that even still exists now. That was a long time ago."
It is Mookie who answers Shel. "Who lives in castles? Rulers, right? Do we even want to go near that castle? And meet the ruler of this place? Count me out!"
The bird pauses, thinking hard. "Bottom line is, you don't know what's what here. Leafs on trees could be sharp enough to cut you. Shadows might be souls of trapped people who can never leave. Don't eat anything. Don't trust anything."
Murphy says maybe Bliss will do okay here, with his experience with shadow. "I hope you're right, Mister Murphy," says Bliss. "I wanna help. That's what a hero would do, right?"
The little halfling reflexively refreshes his Reduce spell -- does his witch magic work here? -- and looks around. Where's that girl who needed rescuing, anyway?

Alleah checks on Bliss and then wonders if there are still Ley Lines here. Well her efforts are rewarded for apparently the Ley Lines are still very strong here! Makes sense as this is the spot the rift was opened towards the Giant Tower in Humble's Ford...
Humble's Ford... it sounds like a distant place now. A place long gone... future?... past? Unsure... Nothing is what is seems out here! Shel was even wondering if this is daytime or night!
Bliss is genuinly afraid... but when both Shel and Murphy plan on going towards the Castle he's definetely not following! "Who lives in Castles? Rules! And do we want to meet the Ruler of this dreadful place?!?" His Reduce spell works perfectly! He even has the impression that he's just even a slightly bit smaller than normal!
Faoil yelps and huddles close to his master. The dog's not wounded just terrified! The Ranger is feeling very uncomfortable. This just isn't the place he knows! Do concepts like North and South still exist?!?
Tiana remains kneeled on the ground still babbeling about demons and undead. Veseley crawls on his feet also and looks around Bazeck is clueless on what to do next... he wasn't expecting the portal to collapse making their return to the Giant Tower impossible...

Looking West you see a number of blackened, bat-winged heads veering towards you at great speed. Tentacles dangle from chin and scalp, and its fanged mouth hangs agape.
They are 50ft from you...
North, East and South there's just the vast plains. No hiding places nearby or at least not within eyesight...

Murphy sees the oncoming colony of bat-things approaching. He casts sound burst. He times his spell to discharge in the center of mass of the colony as the central critters cross into the 35' range of the spell. 12 5' squares will be affected on a plane, and at the height of the creatures should extend in a sphere of 20' diameter.
"If they want to shriek, we'll see how they handle my noise," Murphy says as they approach. Though his words may display bravado, inside he is disturbed by their appearance and what they might do to himself and his friends. Tentacles AND fangs???
[Sound Burst: You blast an area with a tremendous cacophony (10-ft radius spread, range of the center of the burst up to 35 feet from caster). Every creature in the area takes 1d8 points of sonic damage and must succeed on a Fortitude save to avoid being stunned for 1 round. Creatures that cannot hear are not stunned but are still damaged. - Mr DM Steven, I'll let you roll 1d8 sonic damage for each bat, plus make Fort saves for each one to see whether it be stunned (and fall to the ground) or not.]

She draws on her clerical abilities and casts a spell to bolster all her allies.
Alleah casts Bless. Each ally within 50ft gains a +1 morale bonus on attack rolls and on saving throws against fear effects.

If a swarm, Shel's Scorching Ray won't have any effect, so she won't cast it, and she will cast Invisibility on herself instead. If they are regular creatures, she will target the closest one and send a ray of fire streaking toward it.
Ranged Touch Attack, if Scorching Ray is cast is 17. Damage from Fire is 16.
Shel yells as she sees the horrific creatures approach the group, and decides she has to use some of her magic to combat them.
OOC Either way, she uses her first 2nd level spell of the day.

For the first time, instead of rushing headlong into danger, Hazel thinks in mounting Faoil and running away from the foul creatures,as fast as Faoil can carry him. He is almost starting to ride into his mount when he sees his friends bolstering them and attacking, their bravery making him feel ashamed, and forces him to stand his ground and attack. He signals Faoil to get behind him, and quickly lets a couple bullets fly towards the closest creature. Attack Rolls both 20, Total damage 9 He takes a 5' step towards Alleah and the wizards, followed closely by Faoil. He is sweating.

The little fellow decides he can't just start shooting. That's a first for him!
But Shel and Murphy are casting major spells! Spells that HURT! After that, there's not much chance for a peaceful outcome!
Well, it is not archetypically heroic, but the tiny halfling decides.
Bliss acts fast. He casts Enlarge Person on Mookie. Ley Line check is a 16 -- that's good enough! Then he uses the fast mount action to hop on Mookie. His ride check to do so is a 20 -- that makes the DC. He hops on as a free action. He gets out his bah as a move action.
Mookie nods. "Good idea, Kid. Let's not let those things get near."
Mookie flies 80 ft in a direction away from the monsters, and then lands.
Bliss watches to see how fast they move. Perception 14

Sardok had stood silent, taking in his surroundings, making mental plans.
And then the swarm flew at them.
Drawing Krieg and Sturmgewehr, he takes up a position in front of the casters. Out of the corner of his, eye seems something strange. Did Bliss just run away? Kid must be scared. Well, I'm scared to.
Hang on to your hats, kids. This is gonna suck," he says to the crowd behind him, and readies an attack.

Murphy sees the oncoming bat-things and doesn't wait to get introduced. Flying things with fangs and tentacles don't look too friendly. (Kim, Sound Burst isn't on the Druid's Spell list. Is there any other way Murphy has been granted access to this spell? Please adjust your actions)
Gathering everyone close to her Alleah does her best to protect the group, and more specifically the Second Dinner's Club. (please make sure your friends make use of the protective spells you offer)
Shoot first, talk later, is Shel's motto as he witnesses the demonish creatures approach. He sends a scorching ray their way! He hits the first creature full on!! It staggers... near death! But continues on its Kamikaze-like assault!
For a split second Hazel thinks in mounting Faoil and running away from these foul creatures but he sees his friends bolstering and attacking!! He keeps Faoil behind him and attacks!! His Sling Staff launches two bullets. His first bullet strikes V1 just after the Ray nearly got that one toasted... it shrieks and with a trail of smoke it crashes on the purple plain... due to the speed the thing was flying with, the head keeps on rolling and bobbing on the ground untill it stops just a couple of feet from Sardok. His second bullet hits a second head!
Bliss does a surprising thing... he mounts the enlarged Mookie and flies in a direction opposite to the monsters and lands! He observes what happens from a safe distance...
Sardok frowns as he sees Bliss moving to safe distance. The little witch is probably affraid, yet so is he! He moves in front of the group and readies himself for the attack!!
Tiana remains helpless on the ground... Bazeck and Veseley are unsure what to think of this situation and act not.

V1 lies dead on the ground.
V2 is wounded and intends to take on Sardok who is closest. Sardok's first strike goes wide, but his second succesfully connects! The head attempts to bite Sardok but fails.
The other bat-winged heads swoop in on you and while some attempt to shriek you all into paralysis a few others attack!!
V3, V4, V5 and V8 all emmit a terrible shriek! Everyone but Bliss and Mookie need to make 4 FORT SAVES DC12 or be paralysed for 2d4 rounds.
V6 too closes in on Sardok but his attack too fails to connect!
V7 takes on Hazel without success...
Bliss and Mookie make another perception check please.

OOC: Fort saves were 22, 13, 13, and 12, respectively.
"Don't let them overwhelm us. Those tentacle things could probably do real damage," Shel yells to the others. She wanted to hide behind the three who were with them, but she wanted to appear brave, even if that was the opposite of how she felt.
Not knowing what to do, she again fired a scorching Ray at the closest monster that was not in melee, making it easier to hit.
Ranged Touch Attack with Bless is 25. Fire damage is 18.

From afar Bliss uses his Bah and aims for V5.
(OOC - I don't consider shrieking to be fear based. Like shout or shatter you're emmitting a piercing sound that staggers the ones that are affected by it. As such I'm affraid Hazel failed two saving throws)
Hazel is paralized by the ear splitting shrieking. (sorry I rolled an 8 round paralysis) Faoil notices his master is not reacting anymore. He defends his master and takes a bite at V7 who has attempted to attack Hazel.
Murphy sends a second lightning at the same head (V5)
Seeing Sardok freeze Shel decides to send her Scorching Ray at the one attacking him. Shel targets V6.
Alleah notices both Hazel and Sardok are affected by the terrible shriek. However both Bazeck and Veseley too fail to protect against the shriek!! Alleah stays with the second dinner's club to protect them. Faoil is covering for Hazel and Shel has succesfully targetted the heads that attack Sardok...
But all in all, it's not looking too good... Only Shel, Alleah, Murphy and Faoil are in close combat. Bliss runs further away from the battle... (you're off the map...)

He moves one step left, placing one of the things between him and Murphy. The thing seems distracted, and he unleashes a furious assault upon it, slashing at what appear to be exposed vital organs like a butcher too-quickly carving a slab of meat.

In a much better position now, Alleah casts a clerical spell: Obscuring Mist. Her hope is that this might help her defend the Second Dinner Club (No Leyline check required for cleric spell. 20ft radius circle of mist centered on Alleah. If the creatures are what I think they might be, then obscuring sight of them might help those paralyzed. This is what I'm aiming for)

Alleah knows the bat winged heads are Vargouilles. Even though they aren't very tough their Kiss cpuld potentially transform the subject into something similar! They will try to stun and next kiss the subject!! With the right magic you could perhaps banish them from this plane... An accrobatic move pits her on position to cast a protective spell that could avoid getting hit or kissed...

A question has been asked of the DM re the Obscuring Mist. Specifically, that since it obscures vision, anyone in the mist may be immune to the screech.
Using a Gust of Wind to clear the mist away might actually be detrimental to our safety, in that it removes a potential immunity.
Then again, how you're able to cast it whilst paralysed might be a good question too! :)

1) Good catch by RobC! Alleah's spell did not only.obscure vision, but since you need to clearly hear AND see the Vargouilles for being affected by their shriek the fog also protects you from that! That means only Sardok and Faoil need to roll against it.
2) The fog obscures Hazel so he no longer sees the Vargouilles... As such we recovers from his paralyzation! The affected members fron the Second Dinner's Club also regain consciousness.
3) Should Faoil fail his Fort save vs the shriek, V7 will kill the dog... ... Of course the thing can not KILL the dog immediately... It should have read KISS the dog instead!!

Last 'round' we had Alleah casting a protective Obscuring Mist which basically saves the day and all those affected by the Vargouilles Shrieking! (Awarding Alleah a Hero Point for excellent spell casting)
Her spell was well places and all but Sardok were covered in fog. Only Sardok remained in plain sight and of course Bliss who is flying with Mookie a bit South of the group but within range of his Bah.
V3 breaks a tooth on his armor. None of the other Vargouilles were able to do anything.
The whole Humble's Sword group plus the Second Dinner's Club has regained consciousness!!
V2 got blinded and stunned.

Besides avoiding the feeble attempts to bite him, Sardok also shrugs off the paralyzing effect from the Vargouille. Behind him fog covers his friends from sight.
Thanks to Shell's color spray Sardok gets perfect target practice! Allready after his first strike, V2 crumbles to the ground!! So his swings his Sword at V3 instead. (He gets no sneak attack damage though)
Shel has no chance to see Sardok from within the obscuring mist so instead she remains in place and casts a protective spell upon herself...
A well targetted Gust of Wind by Murphy catches V4. The small creature is knocked prone by the force of the wind!! The spell clears a little bit of fog...
Mookie takes Bliss East and South of the group. From that point he once again aims his Bah yet this time he gruesomly fails... (Bliss please once again roll Perception)
Alleah gives advice to the Second Dinner's Club to stay low and quiet. She checks on anyone around for injuries. (Bliss is too far away to check his status)
When the obscuring mist envelops Hazel he realizes he can move! He holds his sling staff and attempts to batter the Vargouille in front of him. The creature is prone on the ground! Faoil endures the pain from the bite but isn't affected by the Vargouille poison. He retalliates and attempts to grapple the creature! V7 overcomes the 20% concealment of the fog and gains an Attack of Opportunity. It fails however to bite the dog again and is succesfully grappeled by Faoil! (CMB good enough to overcome CMD Vargouille)

V3 once again attempts to bite Sardok! V3 hits Sardok AC25 (natural 20 - crit not confirmed - damage 2HP + poison FORT DC12 (on failure damage caused by bite can only be healed with magic if the spellcaster succeeds on a DC 20 caster level check)
V6 flies backwards to find the Humble's Sword but can't see anyone...
V4 gets up from the ground (AoO granted for Hazel) and then attempts to bite the ranger but... yet again Hazel's armor proves to be too tough to bite through!
V7 does not try to escape the grapple but instead tries to bite! Hits AC13 - fails.

Bliss notices V6 is not engaged in combat and shoots another bold from his Bah. Yet another flying bat-winged head gets shot out of the sky!
This time Sardok was unable to withstand the vile power of the Vargouille poison. With a cunning move he then strikes V3 back to the plane it came from... (I believe you are at 34HP of which 2 HP are poisoned)
Alleah tries to get near the sounds of battle. She almost trips over Tiana (who is still sobbing on the ground) and Veseley (who is clueless on what to do but listened to Alleah when she ordered to stay still and quiet).
Even before V4 could have gotten back up from the ground Hazel slams it to pieces! Shards of the blackened skull fly all around the ranger's head and it is not without pleasure he then concentrates on the Vargouille Faoil holds... that one being the last V standing... Faoil damages the skull while grappeling and eventually it too falls out of the dogs paws...
Everything then falls silent... the fog surrounds all but Sardok and Bliss. With no more Vargouilles around both take a look around...
Having no other clear targets Bliss takes a moment to look around...
Murphy keeps quiet also within the fog...

Landing indignantly in the dust, he crawls back to his feet, suddenly becoming aware of Bazeck, and looks at him as if seeing him for the first time. Now aware that a powerful mage that had a hand in getting them here is, well, still here, Sardok asks the learned halfling, "Massive-Horde-Big-Army coming this way! Canyougetusoutofhere? NOW!"
For anything other than an immediate Planar shift, Sardok throws the scholar over his shoulders in a fireman carry and runs toward Bliss' voice.

From within the fog Alleah calls out for Bliss to get some directions. The little witch riding Mookie does his best to guide everyone from the fog. Appreciative, Shell calls for Bliss to keep talking.
Sardok has some difficulty finding his way through the fog and bumps into Alleah and the even Bazeck! He looks the wizard up and down and wonders why this powerful spellcaster can't just get everyone out of here!
"I... I... Don't know how... we succeeded opening the rift.from within the tower using scrolls of all sorts not even expecting this could work... "
Murphy changes shape and with his wings clearing the path Bliss guides to the group manages to get out of the fog after which they start running from the horde!!
The horde keeps marching closer... You can feel the ground tremmor and you can hear their feet stamping... The moment they see you running the start cheering and kick up the pace also!! They're running... Shouting... cheering... and... it doesn't look like they will let you run away that easy!

"Look, are you a powerful mage or not? If so, we need one of two things from you. A way to get more far from here, or a way to make that army not be here anymore. You don't need to send us home, just farther away would work right now. We can figure this out after a legion of vampires aren't calling shots at our various important bodily places. Sooner the better, old man. You're not that light."
Sardok normally is all for treating elders with respect, but some of that luster seems to wear away when said elder has opened a gate to an unending nether-realm from which there is no escape from constant pain and pursuit. Just not the same somehow.

Veseley looks at the Witch and quickly adds: "No need to remind me of that lass!" and Veseley starts running with the rest of you. A spell increases his speed...
Sardok tries to talk to Bazeck as he runs from the horde of creatures... if not able to send everyone home, why not just something a bit farther away from this place!
Bazeck wriggles free from Sardok: "I'm perfectly fine running on my own now thank you... I may be older than you but I'm still in my prime lad!" He quickly casts a spell upon himself and Sardok notices his pace increases! Bazeck keeps up with Veseley and they hurriedly pass a few words... They run as fast as they can...
Hazel checks the plains ahead of them for a place to hide or take shelter... the plains all look fairly deserted with no trees... a couple of purple rocks here and there. Grasses won't even hide a tiny Halfling like Bliss! In the far distance however he notices the hills become steeper so perhaps they will have a place to hide there... IF they make it there...
Flying on Mookie, Bliss pauses in mid-flight and checks the distance of the horde. He makes an interesting thought... are they shepherded in any particular direction?!?
Bliss indeed notices the horde forms a semi circle behind them!! He also feels that some among that foul horde could run faster if they wanted to... You are 'pushed' East it seems... the castle can still be seen far in the distance to your North. From his elevated position Bliss also notices the hills farhter in the East become steeper but behind he seems to notice trees! A forest perhaps!! Looks like East is their safest bet but... why then are they sheparded that way?!?
Not paying any attention to her direction Shel keeps on running!
Like Bliss, Murphy too gains altitude checking out the army behind them. East does sound the safest place to go to...
How many are there?!? Neither Bliss nor Murphy can get an accurate count... the army is vast

Bliss casts Message while mounted a couple times so the group can run and chat.
"Friends," he says, "We're being pushed in that direction. Should we do as we're told? Or should we make a break for the castle? They do not want us to go that way."
[OOC: Can we get a call-off of our movement rates? Mookie flies at 40. Is anyone at 20? If we're moving at 20, how is it they are not catching up? Could this all be an illusion?]

Eh, what of it anyhow.
Sardok catches Bliss' statement and muses on it. He looks behind, gaging the angles. Could the party veer North? There's not much in the direction they are going, and there's no guarantee that the castle would be friendly, but if they are right not -not- going to the castle, there's a good chance that the army doesn't like the castle and the castle doesn't like the army. It's not like they've got a lot of other options.

Sardok muses on Bliss's statements and wonders if it wouldn't be better to veer North! Who knows, the castle may not be all that demonic right?!

Sardok looks around at his companions, giving them a 'Does this make any sense to you?' look.
An idea takes him, and he decides that things couldn't get much worse, and decides to play the game.

We are but naive fools who played with magicks beyond our ken. 'Twas but accident that we opened a portal that sucked us here against our will. Alleah tries once again to cast her spell, this time with greater success (Leyline check: 70=Pass. Cast 'Gentle Repose' on Bazeck's body). Of course, who knows how the spell will act in this realm!
She's too angry right now to engage in pleasant conversation. She just scowls and glares at the Huntsman. "Ok. Think like a Walker. Don't judge. Maybe he is being coerced? Maybe he is under an enchantment? Maybe Bazeck was a known war criminal in this land?"
The thoughts are enough to stay her hand - and tongue - but her face shows her current disapproval.
Bliss whispers to Mookie, "Do you have any idea what he's talking about, old pal? Who's Amalee? Is that the girl we came to rescue?"
When Sardok says there was a misunderstanding, Bliss nods along.
Mookie chimes in, after the strange being speaks. "Okay, sir, three days, much obliged! Three days is very kind. We'll do our best, thanks, and good-bye!"
The bird hustles Bliss off (easy since Mookie is bigger than he is) and whispers out of the side of his beak to the rest of the party, "C'mon you schmucks! You heard him. Let's blow this pop-sickle stand while the popping is good!"

Bliss checks with Mookie about this Amalee but then the talkative bird acceptq the challenge.

"... see you soon...", The Huntsman says and he snaps with his fingers... In just mere seconds the horde that had assembled near the portal vanishes in a shroud of black shadows leaving the Humble's Sword and the 2 remaining from the Club behind in the desolate lands of Koshe Marre... Now what...??
"Amalee", Veseley says while he still kneels near Bazeck's body, "... From what we read in Montoya's diary he had learned that indeed it is she who holds the key to escape from this place... But why does he let us go?! Is it a game he plays!?!"

'Three days,' Murphy thinks to himself. 'Fidelia means faithful - loyal, constant, and steadfast. How well is the mistress of this place named?' He wishes he could talk. But he decides for the time being to remain in this form. Could he have negotiated with the hunter? Sardok and Mookie did fine. Why does the halfling/owl feel such lassitude at this time? He shrugs his wings, and takes flight to follow behind Mookie for the nonce. 'Amalee - was that girl in the vision she? If so, then perhaps her death, foreseen, might be forestalled.'

AFTER the group is out of sight and hearing range of the Huntsman, Mookie cocks his head at Hazel, who asks, "Where the hell are we? Who was that guy?"
The raven caws. "I'll tell you where we are, but you ain't gonna like the answer. We're in Koshe Marr, the Realm of Nightmares and Terror. In this place, if you die, your soul likely won't ever get to Lord Gargul -- it goes right to Marteaus, and he makes Gargul look like some sweetheart pushover."
The bird looks at Alleah. "Maybe you can bring this dead meat back home, missy, but odds are that guy's soul is being used for a hanky by the god of sniffles and sneezes right about now."
"Seriously, don't die here. You really don't want to die. The Boss had a pal who died here once, and they let him stay dead rather than pay Marteaus's price. And he was a HERO, not some putz who got caught up in stuff, like Barty here."
Bliss perks up, as his natural ebullience reasserts itself. "What, my Mom was in this place? With her friends?"
"Sure, Kid, sure, and I was along for the ride. It wasn't this exact place. There was a forest made of glass trees. But we met that same Huntsman -- or maybe his evil twin cousin. He likes chasing folks. We barely outran him last time, and the Boss was fast, not like you short-leggers. Maybe that's why he gave us a three-day start, cause you all are so slow like. Shel is genuinly sick of this place! Several 'why's cross her mind but if this Amalee is able to get the group out of here she wants to go find this woman!

Much like the rest Hazel knows not what to do and wonders if thise demons were nothing more than an illusion... do illusions leave tracks?!... He takes care of Bazeck (is Faoil now carrying both Tiana and Bazeck?! Do check the dog's encumbrance please)
Alleah is happy to see Hazel taking care of Bazeck and says she will try to ressurect him when they get back home...
