The Second Passage
Friday June 5th, 2015 8:10:45 AM

Mack is able to disarm the trap.
Atlas tells Crosseye to continue and to pick up one of the stones.
But which one? Crosseye looks to the others to confirm what he should do. "Yellow or Red?" he asks
The Guardian speaks as the pair of Mack and Crosseye go over the stones
"Mack and Crosseye, Please refrain. Your actions are endangering yourselves, Carver and the others."

Carver Zee and Atlas then have yet more questions for the Guardian
"What conditions other than reinforcement could be met to discontinue the lights at night? Your alert system will endanger the installation and draw enemy combatants down on your location."
You do not understand. Your logic is incorrect
Carver then asks "How long have you been guarding this place?"
247.847

Cameron remains on the other side of the Guardian and while he keeps his defenses up, he tries to remain appearing as not a threat.

Mack moves away from the Stones as Crosseye readies to hoist one from the floor

Currently the order in the hall, moving right to left is
Cameron
Guardian
Carver
Walter
15' empty space
Crosseye at the Stones
15' empty space
Mack
Atlas
Zee
Osul

Feel free to adjust but do note the Guardian's position is and will likely remain 30' from the stones

Atlas grabs Mack and Walter and moves them both past the group in the tunnel and steps around the guardian. He pulls them and Cameron back a little and speaks to them in hushed tones, Read spoiler if Cameron, Mack, Walter. Highlight to display spoiler: {While the guardian is watching this go down and answering their questions, why don't the three of you head to the other tunnel and finish moving the spheres? The Second Passage
Monday June 8th, 2015 8:07:59 AM

Cameron asks for a reference on the guardians answer, 'I;m afraid I cannot clarify. I have no reference for conversion to your time designations.

Atlas pulls Cameron, Mack, Walter a bit further down the passage and asks them to head to the first passage and move the Green stone sphere to the room while the guardian is with the rest of them.

The three of them agree and move back down the hall. The Guardian watches them depart, but remains where he is with the rest of the group

Crosseye decides on the yellow sphere and asks everyone else to get back to at least as far as the Guardian is in the corridor. The group complies and Crosseye hauls the Yellow sphere from the indention. It too, weighs about 100 pounds. There is no magical discharge this time. Mack's earlier work seems to have disarmed it

Mack, Walter and Cameron arrive in the main room and head over the the hall. The ominous words, written in tauric are still there. Step one foot into this hall and you shall die

The Guardian moves up to Crosseye. Crosseye, please reconsider you present course. You are undertaking an unauthorized action

IC
Cameron watches as Mack disarms the trap in the hallway. He casts detect magic to see if the aura on the hall changes as Mack does so. He stands back while doing this. Once Mack either electrocutes himself or diarms the trap, Cameron will head down the hall with them hanging back, to see if Fido the wonder guard comes to see what they are doing. He will then watch Mack disarm the sphere trap also from a distance, also with detect magic running. When he thinks it is safe he will get Mack to back off from the sphere and Walter to pick the sphere up and put it in the other indentation. All of this from a distance so that he does not get hurt and remains conscious to heal the others if they DO get hurt.

How can you be sure you are not operating on orders which no longer stand? How can you be sure that those who gave you your orders still hold the same opinions? Worthy of protection is an opinion, and as time passes and values change, some things that were once unworthy become worthy, and some things which were now fall out of worthiness. Does the passage of this 247 or so seem unusually long? Should you not have someone request an update of your progress? Have you even provided a report? Do they no longer think your work is of value? Do they not care? Have they long since passed away? Do you not care? Who are you?"

Mack asks about the tauric writing, but Cameron points out it is just the same message he already translated the day before. it is now up to Mack to either attempt to disarm the trap, which resets itself in less than a minute, or to set it off before Cameron, he and Walter head down the passage to the stone sphere in the floor.
Cameron casts his spell and does detect magic once again in the hall

Atlas heads back down the passage towards the main room and coming up the ramp discovers an issue with his plan. It is impossible to keep an eye on both groups. It will be very difficult to even hear both. From Atlas' current place, Carver Zee, Osul and Crosseye are down a 10' ramp and 90' of hall. Walter, Cameron and Mack are 50' across the room and will soon be much further as they move down the 10' ramp and 90' of hall

The Guardian remains with Crosseye, whose arms are full holding the stone, Osul, Carver and Zee. it makes no threatening moves as Atlas departs the area. Answering Carver in the same neutral tones, It has been approximately .0004 since you first arrived.

Crosseye, unsure about how to proceed, remains in the passage with the stone in his hands.
Osul hits the Guardian with a barrage of questions form a slightly different tact. The passage of time and the affect that has on all things.
the Guardian responds,
How can you be sure you are not operating on orders which no longer stand?
I'm afraid cannot
How can you be sure that those who gave you your orders still hold the same opinions?
I'm afraid cannot
Does the passage of this 247 or so seem unusually long?
I do not believe it is
Should you not have someone request an update of your progress?
An update is not required
Have you even provided a report?
A report is not required
Do they no longer think your work is of value?
This locations importance has been deemed paramount. Value is therefore paramount
Do they not care
Please rephrase, I do not understand the requirement or your logic to this question
Have they long since passed away
I do not know, but it does not alter my objectives
Do you not care
Please rephrase, I do not understand the requirement or your logic to this question
Who are you?
I am Asads, who are you?

The Guardian then asks anotherquestion and he poses it to Carver, Are the others proceeding to the passage where I first found you? They are putting themselves in danger.

Cameron watches for 30 or so feet back and winces as Mack tries to disarm the trap. Either way the electricity should be disabled for a moment so that they can sprint down the hall and work on the sphere.

Recap on the map(DM Dan correct me if I don't get at least the broad strokes right)

We are in a 60x60x60 foot room. Call the bottom the door we came in. There is a ramp leading off to the left, and another to the right side of the room. These ramps are 10 feet long and slope down. There is a 90 foot corridor at the base of each ramp. In the middle of each corridor is a pair of divots where the stone spheres are. At the end of the hall is a 40 foot room with an altar in it.( we know this is true for the one we explored, and I am assuming it for the other) The one Mack, Walter and I are attempting to go down has a green sphere left in the hall and a red sphere in the , for lack of a better word, altar, in the room at the end of the hall. Crosseye, Carver, Atlas, Zee, and 'Osul are in the other hallway playing 200 questions with the guardian. Mack Walter and I are supposed to go put the green sphere in the altar and see what happens. The others are going to attempt the same on their side, or see if the guardian attacks them.
My best guess is that correct sphere placement will open a control and command room from which we might be able to disable the light. What else will happen remains to be seen. All of us dying horribly is not out of the question.

A quick twist of her silver and gold lines and a gleaming puff of smoke pointed at Crosseye. As she feels the spell take effect she laughs and hugs Atlas. While she has him in an embrace she stands on tip-toe and whispers in his year, "Hi, Crosseye, I am here with Atlas, and I can tell him if you need the team." In the first Hall, Mack attempts to and fails at disarming the trap Mack Cameron , Osul and Walter are all in square C/25
Carver misses the Guardians question to him as his head fills with numbers. Can that be right, 170 something years? yes decimal, not a comma
Atlas, realizing how spread out things were getting, returns to the where Crosseye, Carver and Zee are with the Guardian. He introduces himself and asks what the Guardian would do if Crosseye proceeds down the hall with the sphere.
The Guardian responds by posing his own question again to Carver. If the others have gone into the other hall without you, they are in grave danger
Osul walks to the Guardian and also greets the Guardian by name and has a different take on the Guardians measure of time. Using currency to map it out, makes the guardian far far older on the magnitude of eternal for all intents and purposes.
Zee heads to Atlas and casts a Message spell DM Guess, please list spells as you cast thanks. The spell can affect 2 people; Crosseye and Zee. They can whisper messages and receive replies up to 120'with each other. Anyone within 5' of Zee or Crosseye the perception check to overhear is DC 25
Zee then begins to think on how to link up with Mack. She has to be careful though, not to extend herself beyond range with Crosseye and with the ranger moving further away, it might not be possible to do both
Crosseye heads down the passage and the Guardian moves that way as well Please be careful Crosseye. You are undertaking dangerous actions

Cameron will ask the others to back away from the tunnel and attempt his own method of avoiding the trap. Once the others are far enough away he will get a running start and leap down the ramp, attempting to tumble without actually placing a foot on the ground.

Carver wants clarification, was he the protector here? Why? Clarification from the Guardian thus far, has been cloudy at best though.
Crosseye relays to Zee what he sees, another room with another alter with a red sphere already in place. Crosseye cannot get a better look or enter the room without breaking the spell
Zee casts another Message and links herself to Atlas

The Guardian moves further down the corridor towards Crosseye and Carver follows. The Guardian answers Carver as he closes smoothly and silently with Crosseye's position. That is the Hall of the Taurs

Mack and Walter back up and Cameron gets ready to make his jump....

"Zee, tell Crosseye to put the sphere down in the spot at the alter and we'll see what happens. Tell him to take precautions in case something unexpected happens."

Atlas yells to Carver, "Carver, get down there and help Crosseye when everything blows up on us."

Turning to Zee and 'Osul, "Nothing good ever happens with this sort of thing. The floor doesn't open up to piles of gold, the genie doesn't come out of the alter and grant us wishes, and we don't have the skys open up and get to talk to the gods. Instead, something blasts us, cuts us, or obliterates us. Hold your breath and we'll see what it is this time..."

Atlas runs down the corridor towards Crosseye to help deal with the results.

Cameron looks down the slope and then at the ceiling above it. It would take a dive into the tunnel with almost no precautions to make this not painful, and there was no way to know if it wouldn't set the trap off or not.
" Too risky. Keep on plugging Mack. I'll be rooting you on from back here."
With that Cameron backs away again to a distance of 30 feet , well out of the range they have seen this trap reach.

Cameron's reasoning has to do with what the guardian said and how the sign above the "taur" hall is worded. It says "Step one foot into this hall and you shall die." Taur's don't have "feet". Paws, and hooves they have, but no feet.
" The guardian said that we were in danger without Carver in this hallway. That, coupled with the way this sign is written makes me think that the trap won't trigger if Carver is the one that goes first. If it hurts him I'll heal him, but I think this has a shot of working."
Looking over his shoulder he shouts back to Atlas, about his previous statement.
" Sometimes when you screw up you do get to go talk to the gods, at least to one of them. Let's not do that today if we can help it eh?"

Are the sphere colors morphing or are you messing up where and what's going on in either the first post or the second? If the colors don't matter, then no harm done, but the colors are changing from one posting to the next.

Cameron listens to the goings on.
How can Carver be coming to their room?
Then again, how did that first sphere get to the box in the first place?

The easy answer was, they are the same room. So how do the colored stones work? They have 2 red stones, 1 green and 1 yellow. Each hall has 2 depressions and if they are the same room, then there are 2 more in the square altar. So what would happen if both red rocks were in the altar? Since nothing happened with red and yellow, they would need to experiment until something happened.

Carver walks into the room at the end of the hall, the first hall and therefore the first room. however, what he sees is hard to accept. Standing in the room is Crosseye and Mack and just behind them, the Guardian. The metal slab, or altar, already has 2 Stone spheres in it. A Red one as Carver would have expected, but also a Yellow one. The Stone that Atlas and Crosseye had just put into the room from the second passage. It defies logic, but somehow the first corridor and the second corridor, leading in different directions from the main 60x60 cube, arrive at the same 40x40 cube room.

The party has discovered 4 stone spheres. 2 are red, 1 is yellow and 1 is green. Currently a red and yellow sphere sit in the altar. When the red sphere was first placed in the altar, Crosseye was burned by a trap. When the yellow sphere was placed in the Altar by Atlas, nothing happened. Carver is holding a Green sphere. In the 2nd passage, a red sphere still sits about halfway down at 90'

Zee asks Mack to update her on what is going on and the halfling does so, 'Carver just came into the room from what we thought was the exit?'

Atlas runs down the corridor that won't cause him harm and joins the rest of the group at the altar. "Well, nothing happened with Red and Yellow other than a burst of flame. Let's swap the red for the green. Everyone stand back..."

One Puzzle down
Friday June 19th, 2015 5:48:57 PM

Atlas tells Carver to swap the red for the green sphere he is holding. Atlas pulls out teh Red one and Carver sets the Green sphere into place.
The Guardian does not respond to Crosseye, but moves next to Carver as he sets the Green sphere into place. I must insist that you cease your actions At this time, the Guardian has moved his hand to the pommel of his sword

As the Green sphere is placed next to the Yellow one, both glow slightly and where the auras overlap, the group can see a beautiful shade of blue, identical to the color of the beacon. Both of the Red Spheres twist open, revealing a mobius curve with a stud on one side, as if it fits into something inside of each one

Once it is apparent that nothing is going to happen in the main room, Cameron will head down to the box to se what all the hubub is about. Looking at the strips with the studs he is immediately reminded of door handles, the kind that a set of double doors would have. He also notes the guardian's hightened stae of agitation.
" Guys, Sparky here is getting uppity. We may have a problem."
If the guardian begins a fight, Cameron falls back and will try to trip him. This is ONLY if the guardian starts a fight.
If it does nothing more, then Cameron will begin minutely searching the whole place, even the 60 foot high walls, somehow, for a pair of holes to match the studs. Likely this will take a few days. He starts with the metal box/altar.

Cameron begins to cross the 60x60 chamber towards the second hall to go down it when he spots something out of place. Near the ceiling of the wall that contains the second passage, another panel has moved. Cameron continues down the passage to the second room, where he spies the Guardian's agitation and the two mobuis strips. Cameron tells the others about the panel

Mack stows the Banjo and begins searching the second smaller 40x40 room. There is nothing of additional interest. double checking for traps, causes Mack to find two of them. One in each of the hall ways. Most likely the same two magical traps that have always been there. Both are active. No one is currently in the First hall, That of the Taurs. Zee is standing in the second about halfway down

Atlas addresses Asads and inquires about his intentions. The response is calm and even as always, I cannot permit you to remove those from this room.
The Guardian's hand remains on his sword, but he has not drawn it.

Crosseye joins Mack in the search, currently within the 40x40 room

Osul and Walter are still within the main 60x60 chamber. With a new possible direction to go, the pair make sure one of them is always keeping an eye on the newly revealed exit, Currently 60' above their heads.

Carver draws his sword and readies his shield, the Guardian responds to his actions, Your newly aggressive posture indicates that you plan to forcibly continue your present course of dangerous actions. To do so, will force me to reciprocate

Do you think we missed it last time, or did our action with the spheres cause it to move? Are we about to shoot light out into the sky through it? Just looking for some educated guessing here...from anyone really.

"With that being said, we need to come up with a plan before we do something to cause Asads here to attack us. I'm thinking that the magic hallway can provide us some cover, as well as the fact that there are a bunch of us that can go in multiple directions at once. However, I don't want us to do anything until we have an idea what we're doing with those things.

"Asads, you can relax, we're not taking out of the room right now. Carver is just scared of you and your big self. Please take your hand off your sword and he'll be OK and put is stuff away. Atlas tries to diffuse the situation with the Guardian and examines the mobius strip closer. He discovers nothing new. he also asks more about the panel in the Main Room. Does anyone have any guesses about it
Carver sheathes his sword. After all, he still had his hooves.
Cameron asks the paladin to sheathe his weapon, fearing what he believes to be a construct to be more than their match. He then exits the Second Room, proceeds down the Second Passage to arrive in the Main Room to see what he can see.
Osul talks to Walter about what they might have to shed light 60' up a shear wall or about how they might get up there.
Mack is unable to disarm the traps in the First or Second Passage. He then proceeds down the Second Passage to the Main Passage. He discovers little about the passage now visible 60' over his head.
Crosseye, follows the others to the Main Room. A light spell is cast upon an arrow from Cameron and Crosseye expertly fires it up and into the opening.

The arrows flight strikes hard very shortly after entering the opening. Not like the gentle slope of the 2 previous passages

All examination of the Stone Sphere reveal that they slid open, precisely in half on a single point on one side. no amount of force seems to be able to slide the upper half back over the lower half. Inside each sphere, sitting in a hollowed section was the mobius strip with a small stud sticking out at one point. Door handles is a apt description
The Mobius Strips are with Atlas in the Second Room

The Guardian returns his sword to the scabbard when Carver does. His hand rests upon his weapon, his full attention on Atlas, who has the Mobius Strips in his hand. If not the continuation of your current logical course, what are your actions designed to bring about Atlas?

Well Asads, I'm not sure right now. You see, we have a puzzle on our hands. We don't want to fight you, but we also cannot continue to have this beam of light shining in the sky every night. Personally, I think that someone or something evil has gotten around your setup here and is causing the beacon to go off. I believe that they have ill intent. However, you don't have the information necessary to address it and no one is coming to the beacon other than all the evil monsters within 100 miles, so where does that leave us? We can wait, that seems to be your approach, but what happens when no one comes? You don't know who, right? So you don't know where they are, right? And you don't know what has happened over the very long period of time that you have been standing guard, right? So who knows if reinforcements are coming? A lot can change over time. So that leaves us with a puzzle. If you're open to working on it with us then great, but so far you have only indicated that you are willing to wait. So instead of helping you're just a piece of the puzzle. So, stay there, we won't take these out of here right now, and we'll continue trying to work on the puzzle. Once we know what the best course of action is we'll let you know. If you feel at that time that you need to stop us with that sword of yours then I guess we can do that at that time. No sense in starting early though. Do you have anything you want to add to that Asads? Any questions? Want to help solve rather than be a piece of the puzzle?"

Tensions are Rising
Thursday June 25th, 2015 9:47:04 PM

Most of the group is now in the Main Room trying to figure out how to scale a perfectly smooth and perfectly vertical wall 60'.
Cameron puts himself into a corner with the intention of using the two walls to assist. However he makes no progress and all the aid the others can provide do not help.
A perfectly smooth, flat vertical (or inverted) surface cannot be climbed.

Atlas stays with Asads, still holding the Mobius Pieces and tries to explain the problem as he sees it.

While he does that, Carver heads down the Second Passage to the Main Room. The centaur arrives in a most peculiar way. Caver exits the second passage on the very wall that the others are looking to scale. The entire Wold has shifted and Carver sees his friends now all standing upon the wall, where as they see Carver upon a wall. The elusive new passage to the others is now a simple walk across the 'floor' for Carver.

Asads answers to Atlas continue to narrow the possibilities. This location is paramount, your safety is important. We are to remain and protect until reinforcements arrive. I do not understand your unwillingness to do so.

In the Second Room with the Guardian are the following; Atlas
In the Second passage 90' from the Guardian: Zee
In the Main Room 140' from the Guardian; Walter and Osul, Mack, Cameron, Crosseye,
In the Main Room on the Second Wall; Carver

All Passages are 180' and 10' wide
Main room is 60x60
Second room is 40x40

" Really? I give up."
Not the most lawful person, Cameron still has trouble with the laws of physics changing from minute to minute in this place.
" Well, give me a few minutes to put all my gear back on and then we can walk up the freaking wall to get to the next hallway."
" On second thought, go ahead, I'll put my gear back on . Just try not to die. Mayb we will all just float away to happy land once we jump through the next hoop."

I am thinking he might have a bit of an issue with him, because I don't think Dragon's live as long as 'Osul said he has been around here waiting for relief. Kinda makes me think that he doesn't have a pulse, which would make Gargul a bit miffed."

Question of Gravity
Sunday June 28th, 2015 9:31:34 AM

With Carver on the wall, at least to everyone else's perception, things get even more confusing. The Centaur comes up with an idea, everyone head down the First Passage to the Second Room and then continue as he did down the Second Passage back to the Main Room.
Cameron and Crosseye put their armor back on and quickly perform an experiment.
Carver moves across his floor so the Cameron is standing next to him, albeit on the wall to the centaur. The two reach out with firm grips and Carver pulls Cameron over. To Cameron, though, he is still being pulled to what his body considers the floor. If Carver lets go, he falls and so Cameron hops back to the others.
Osul brings up a couple issues to his mind. One, experimenting with the mobius loops that Atlas is holding. Do things change if he only holds one? Second the frightening thought that what thy are witnessing here could spread. Is that what Asads is protecting the Wold from and why this location is important.
Atlas remains with Asads and can hear the reports being shouted down the corridor to him

The question now is, does everyone head down the Hall of Taurs aka First Passage. Or does the group want to experiment with the Mobius Strips Atlas has.
Asads, still seems content to remain in the Second Room with Mobius Strips. It is also very clear that Asads does not intend to let you remove the Mobius Strips from that room

In the Second Room with the Guardian are the following; Atlas
In the Second passage 90' from the Guardian: Zee
In the Main Room 140' from the Guardian; Walter and Osul, Mack, Cameron, Crosseye,
In the Main Room on the Second Wall; Carver

" If, or when we finally end up defying Asads there will be a fight. He will do his job and strike down anyone that he can reach. We will lose people. On that note, when we decide to do it, we need to all be on the same page, and we will need to put him down. I would prefer to not do that until we know what we are going to do, lets explore as far as we can first."
Cameron looks at the taur passage.
" So, Get ready if you are coming along, I am about to follow Carver's lead and head around the structure and up the wall. It would be dumb for us to each do it separately and each get blown up, so lets get ready to follow me once I set off the trap."
Cameron casts a blessing from Jancassis the Huntress on himself and feels his legs get stronger. He then heads down the Taur passage, his butt clenching as he crosses the threshold that should set off the trap.

A plan is basically formed, or at least a path of movement. To get to Carver, the group will need to travel down the First Passage called the Hall of the Taurs, to the Second Room and through the Second Passage. Carver is the only one who has taken this route and when he emerged, it was upon the wall, making the new doorway easily accessible.

Before Cameron heads into the Hall of the Taurs, Mack gives the Trap another try and is able to temporarily disarm it. Everyone knows it will reset soon and thus the party heads down the 180' hall to the Second Room and arrives safely

Asads and Atlas are there waiting. Atlas speaks of leaving the Mobius Strips with Asads while the party explores, but the trap laden cube and alien nature of the place with the assurance of needing the strips to access the CnC Asads eluded to earlier the party is going to need to take them and Asads is going to try and stop them

Osul Crosseye and Atlas all still want to discover a peaceful resolution, to not enter an engagement with the Guardian Asads.

Asads answers Atlas in the same cool detached voice, I'm afraid I cannot permit you to continue. It has become clear this group endangers this location. Asads draws his weapon, but does not advance

I moved Cameron back to where he should have been, he didn't move last round because he didn't need to. He is small and squishy, he isn't going in close unless he has to.

Cameron sees the sword draw Carver's blood and moves to again try and remove it. He again fails. (move to M/6)

Atlas tries to take advantage of Asads' distraction and attacks again with his sword. The sounds and feel of battle are starting to take over for him and his strike is more composed this time, but not yet exactly where it needs to be. His blade just skims past the Guardian's shoulder, not doing any real damage.

I take a 5' step to K6, trying to give others an opportunity to flank. I then unleash with my deadly flurry-of-miniature-blows, which will most likely finish him off......

(flurry of blows: d20+4-1 for each blow, and d4-1 damage
Hit AC 19 for 3 damage, and AC 13 for 3 damage)

OOC: I didn't factor in any "flanking" bonus, as I'm not sure how many of us get that.

Crosseye, I could swear I saw you in K6 earlier. ;) I don't see you OR Cameron at the moment, though. Or Pips. But I think Pips is dead. :)

Yes, it looked like a few folks disappeared again. I fixed the map again based on what you all posted as to where you wanted to go. Asads is now completely surrounded and no more melee people can get in to fight him. Based on people who gave coordinates to where they went Mack and Carver have Flanking, the rest of us are on our own.
Also, since he is a construct type thingee I doubt he will take subdual damage, it would be like trying to make a toaster tired, but I get where 'Osul was coming from and up until he started to click and whir, who really knew right?
OK, carry on. 8)

'Osul remains in place [O9] by Zee, and makes another Ranged Touch attack {RTA:17} to cast Storm Burst on Asads. {If successful, 4 points of subdual damage and -2 penalty to Asads' attack rolls for a round}
Meanwhile he continues to observe the well-being of his companions, lest he need to change focus and start healing.

Me either, that is totally table talk. However, is that -2 to attacks dependent on the target taking damage from your burst or do they take the minus regardless? If they do it is still helping quite a bit. When I read it, it doesn't say they have to take damage too be hampered by the winds, so YEAH, still really helpful.

Asads armor is thick, and Cameron's fighters are having trouble getting past his defenses. Jancassis has prepared Cameron for this and he thanks her by invoking her name and asking her to guide the hands of his friends toward victory. Each of Cameron's friends feels a sharp, quick, prick to the back of their sword hands and a brief wave of nausea as her blessing is delivered. Afterwards they feel more fearless and surer in their attacks.

what just bit me!? is the top thought in his mind. Then, like a venom, the feeling of courage and sureness of action spreads through him and he attacks again, trying to get past Asads armor. This time as his scimitar slashes in low, his shield connects and bashes Asads helmeted head.
Scimitar hits AC 21 for 8 damage

"SON of a... that hurt!!!"

If I can do a 5' step retreating backwards without drawing an AoO from Asads, I do so, stepping back to L5.

IF I get an attack before doing a 5' step, here is my flurry-of-blows for this round:

(flurry of blows: d20+4-1(+1 flanking) for each blow, and d4-1 damage
Hit AC 10 for x damage, and AC 9 for x damage) both misses

OOC: If I get even a +1 bonus to hit due to flanking, I believe I hit him with one of my attacks last round, as I hit AC19 without any bonus.

Mack, bleeding heavily, makes a couple strikes towards Asads, but does not land any as he is more concerned with getting out of sword range. Mack backs off.
Carver heals himself again and calls for the team to shift to the right to and attacks with everything he can bring to bear. Unfortunately, none of the attacks get past Asads defenses.

"Thanks Osul! VERY appreciated! :)"

Thinking to myself how I can't wait to pick up some Druid skills, so I can help in the healing department... if nothing else by being able to use that wand.

I look for ways in which I can assist, but if everyone is shifting over, there doesn't appear to be much I can do at the moment.

Hoping I don't need to take anyone's spot, I prepare to switch in if someone else needs to fall back. I ready the goblin short bow, in the chance that I can maybe take a short or 2 while I'm waiting. Can't hurt.... TOO much. ;)
