Most of the group makes sure they have the pearls they were given and a consensus is decided that it's time to get into the water. Evaris on the other hand, even making sure he has the pearl, wishes he'd known and asked for different spells.... ____________________________________________________________________ You notice Cris check a similar pearl around her own neck and smiling at the party, leans over the side and dives into the water. Following Cris into the lake, the water is mostly clear, at least while it's daylight and the suns up. The lake in this area seems to range from 80 to 110 feet deep. There is also a slight current to the lake, causing those unused to to drift towards the northeast. Everyone, please make a swim check, DC 13 every post. Missing it means you struggle to keep up, but manage to. Missing by 5+ means you are drifting away from the group and requires another Swim Check to return, missing by 3+ means you get even further away from the group towards the northeast. Below Float City and towards the northeast almost looks like a junk yard. There is random junk and garbage that's drifted down from the city. To the west and southwest are huge fields of rows of some sort, where the underwater farms are located. To the direct north is a plot of land at least 2 or 3 acres in size, that is growing kelp. These fields of kelp are 50-60 feet tall, and still don't reach the surface. Cris is about halfway to the bottom, waiting on the group and Luci, swims over to any of those who fail a swim check to aid, at least for the duration when the group is with Cris and the dolphin. Cris, describes the farms to the west and southwest, and turtle feeding grounds to the north. This is when you figure out the pearls allow you to speak as well as breath. (no, theydo not give free action, only breath and speak under water.)

Seeing the broken seaweed stalks Brom signals everyone as he proceeds down what he believes to be the correct trail. The water here is crystal clear, but the enormity of the seaweed makes it difficult to accurately judge the distance. In fact, it would almost be more accurate to refer to the weeds as an under water forest inhabited by all means of unusual creatures. Everything around you is peaceful and serene.
As you carefully make your way forward a small turtle swims past. It is much smaller than the kind used to ferry things to and from the city, but the way it moves its fins almost gives it the appearance of flying as it drifts along the currents
After watching it for a few minutes you realize that a small path has opened up through the weeds. Not the trail you were following, but an actual trail across the ground where the weeds fail to grow as though something regularly travels through here.
Perception 19 Highlight to display spoiler: { The trail appears to thin as it moves towards The Float, but it gets wider as you moves further away from the city. On either side of the path small trails lead into the weeds, or perhaps they exit the weeds to join the larger path, similar to a wild game trail.}

Swimming through the tranquil lake the difference in your skill becomes evident as Evaris and Emrys begin to fall behind. All around you light and shadow dance across the aquatic seascape and brightly colored fish of all sizes dart in and out of the weeds.
Slowly the path seems to enlarge as you move closer and Brom's survival skills begin to kick in. A game trail typically doesn't get this wide. This is more like tributaries merging together as they approach the sea ... or how a series of roads merge together as they approach a city. Roads, that is what it reminds Brom of. Roads merging together as they approach...something. It is impossible to tell what, because about a quarter a mile ahead the path curves to the right and out of view.
Still, for the time being all is peaceful and it is hard to imagine finding such sanctuary within the city walls and such respite is to be embraced wherever you find it.

With the group back together you make your way to the bend in the path, some more cautiously than others. Fortunately for you, swimming under water does not make too much noise. By now the path is about ten feet across and you make out discernible tracks in the seabed, although none of you are familiar with the particular sea life that created them.
Before you can ponder this the scene around the bend comes into view. Five woven huts sit on the bottom of the floor. Drift wood shutters decorated with seashells hang over the windows and small polished stones line the paths leading up to each hut and multicolored seaweed are planted against each structure like a traditional flower bed. Next to the closest hut is a floating cart tethered to the ground with a strange harness next to it.

You briefly discuss the issue, but the lure of food, good company, and a lead on the location of the turtles leaves you little alternative and soon you are making your way one by one into the large hut. Peza is the first to enter with a smitten Lanlis close behind, the half elf even more sure of the woman's genuine attraction to him...another case of love at first sight...
Brom is the last to enter, and as he passes the cart outside the hut he notices some old dishes, pieces of pottery, and a daemon mask he had seen shortly after arriving on The Float, and it dawns on him that these people must collect items of value dumped from the city on trash day. The repeated trips would explain the paths to and from the underwater village to the city.
Once inside the hut the smell of fresh fish wafts towards your nose. You find it an odd sensation to be smelling under water, but it is undeniable and smells delicious. An elderly woman sits in the corner sewing a fine cloth. She is old enough to be Agape's grandmother, but still giving off an air of elegance. She smiles, but a moment before returning to her sewing. A moment later Demetria, younger sister of Agape, enters the main room carrying the fish and looking even more beautiful than her sister. By the gods, how is it that so many strapping young men found their way down here. Unlike her sister, Demetria's gaze stops on Brom. My god, your all muscle, aren't you. As she sets down the fish down and the smell rises your mouths begin to water.

"Smells delicious." Edson says, as he ponders the thought of smelling under water. " What's to eat?"
CoDM James d20=17 ; Wednesday August 12th, 2015 5:56:23 PM
Peza sees nothing out of the usual and enjoys the smells " mmm ... what spices do you use ?? " Demetria barely glances at the young girl as she explains, The aquatic plants here add their flavor when you wrap fish in them. They are like the herbs of the over land, although we do not normally dry or cook most of our food. However the city has given us a couple boxes that can change the temperature of food. Doris she points towards the old lady in the corner thinks they were used for making plant infused water (beer) cold, but I really cannot understand why that would be. Peza suspects the box that was given was most likely a cooler enchanted with Rose's Temperature Control and used to keep ale cold.
Evaris and Emry's unease grows. There's something peculiar going on down here. "We really can't stay," He then asks about the turtles, but the girls are focused on their respective men and do not seem to notice him.
Brom thinks the woman is looking for a little extra-curricular activity and instinctively buffs himself up as she speaks, and his perception check tells him he is right. Edson's thoughts tell him it is time to eat.

The fish smells delicious, the ability to smell underwater allowing you to experience the fish's smell as nature intended it, intermingled with the waves and aromatic plants of the sea. Demetria notices Brom puffing himself up and smiles. Placing her hand on his she smiles. Join me in the next room. The barbarian begins to follow her without the slightest sign of resistance. Something about his actions catching Agape's eye.
A rush of water flashes across your skin as Agape's hand cuts through the water and slaps her sister. WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU ARE DOING???!!! I SPECIFICALLY FORBARDE THAT! As she says this clarity sweeps across your minds...well the men's minds. Brom and Lanliss realize they had fallen under the woman's beguiling aura helped along by their natural attraction to the women, and you realize that this is a natural effect of these women's presence. Not something intentional, but an inherent effect of their beauty on men.
But he is sooooo handsome. ... ... I am sorry Mr. Brom.
Agape frowns. I think it would be best if you all leave. The turtles headed that way. She then points in a direction about 35 degrees off of your previous course.
At least allow him to make his own choice! Agape pleads. Please. I want a baby. You might have noticed, but there are no men of our kind. Gods know when another man will venture down here, let alone one such as yourself. Please help me before you go.

The rush of water wakes Brom from his daze. In most circumstances, Brom would destroy anyone trying to control him, but he realized that it wasn't their intent to control him and only his infatuation with the gorgeous women. Beautiful women have that power.
It really didn't take Brom very long to decide. It was the motto he lived by, enjoy all thing life has to offer. "Ya, I got no problem with that." He says to Demetria giving her a small smile. Then he looks to Agape, "This gonna cause a problem? Don't wanna cause ya any trouble."

If Agape does not insistent that Brom leave, Brom will go say to the others "Guys, I'll catch up. Or ya can wait."

The rest of you head in the direction that was indicated. You learned from Agape that they only saw the turtles from a distance, and could not tell if they were alone or not. After travelling through the weeds for a while the landscape begins to change. The plants have begun to become more colorful and the plants more sturdy.
As you travel further the passage of the turtles becomes more obvious. Rather than bent seaweed you are seeing a path of minor destruction as pieces of the plants have broken off and fallen to the ground, making tracking your quarry a little easier.

Carefully you follow the path of destruction along the underwater path. After a couple hours you begin to realize just how large this lake is and that the path has suddenly become less strewn with debris. With every passing minute there is less and less plant life littering the path, almost as if someone was cleaning up the path to remove any traces of the turtles passage.
After a couple more minutes swim you can see a flowerlike creature in the distance with a dark gray/green trunk with a brightly colored interior. It has a smooth front bordered by dozens of fleshy tendrils, and a rougher outer trunk. At the center of the creature's front is a circular opening that leads into its interior. As you watch you can see it sucking up the debris. The organic matter disappears, while the more stone and shell like structures are spit out into the weeds.

From what he can gather by its appearance, it appears to be some type of Great Sea Anemone. If that is the case then he reasons that it likely has a paralyzing grasp and is large enough to swallow a person whole. As you wait it continues erasing the turtle's trail.

Numerous questions and possible situations fill your heads as the creature continues to destroy the turtles path. Edson, perhaps thinking of those Anemone he has seen in the ocean, wonders if perhaps the creature is stationary. After watching this one for a while he can see that it is in fact moving about 10ft per round. At first this seems odd, but given that the forest around The Float is surrounded by a sentient forest it is not surprising that those plant like creatures in the water around it are more active than normal.
Brom, after watching the creature for a while determines that is might be possible to out run the creature, depending on how much faster it can move that its current pace.
