Ecthelion is too preoccupied with the mural to notice anything behind him and takes the full brunt of the damage, nearly dropping to his knees. (Reflex: 8)
The drow steps back, covered in burns, and clutches the holy symbol around his neck. Holy energy courses through his body as the wounds are repaired and he wheels around so that his back is against the mural. (Cure Moderate Wounds: 22)

Rillett is tempted to keep messing with the mural, even through the fight. Magana, Terser and Jozhur seem to have this well in hand. But that's usually when everything goes sideways. Then he notices how damaged Ecth, but before he can react Ecth is able to heal himself. "Nice to have another healer in to group Ecth!"
Rillett will move to I6 to back up Jozhur. If he was the target of this creature's wrath for touching the mural, Jozhur may need some help here. "Adamantine dagger. Smart move Jozhur."
Rillett will use Status to monitor Magana, Aexana and Jozhur. He will also look at this winged, metallic creature, having previously activated Deathwatch.

Magana rushes forward, but misses terribly.
Jozhur is unfazed by the burning breath, and shoots forward using his haste to skirt the AOO. When he gets closer, his hasted feed suddenly slow back down, and he well within range of the AOO. The angelic creature slams its fist into Jozhur's flank. (11 dmg). He himself gets his attack in and strikes, taking a little chunk off.
Ecthelion steps back, and heals himself from some of the massive damage he took.
Rillet steps behind Terser, and uses his abilities. Deathwatch, doesn't reveal anything. Nothing comes to him. His Status ability also doesn't reveal anything and feels no connection to his allies. (Note: trying to find Status on your sheet but I am missing it, ability or spell?)
Hashamon unleashes a breath of acidic stream at the angel. The angel takes the full force of it.
Terser takes some of the attack, but dodges it. He can tell his attack wasn't fully damaging to the creature. --------------------------------- The angel swings at Jozhur, connecting once with a fist and once with a wing. (17 dmg total).

Zeoll gives the group a chance with a healing wave of energy. Lucky for him the angel seems to recieve none of it, but neither does Magana, Terser, Jozhur or Rillet.
Ecthelion sends his friend Murph to give a spell to Terser, but as it approaches Murph just up and disapears. One second he is there, the next he is not. ( No bull strength for Terser)
Magana unleashes another attack, but both miss. Her weapon feels a bit heavier in her hands.
Again Hashamon unleashes acid at the creature, catching it in its cone. (I1 isnt a spot, I3 is the most northern spot. Also, as a chimera's cone spray is 20' from I3, you will catch the angel, Jozhur, Terser and Magana. If you want to change your action, so be it, otherwise I need reflex saves from everyone involved.)
Rillet's healing seems to not work, and no one recieves it. Once 20' away from the angel, he notices his spells are not working. There seems to be a glow coming from the walls that lights the room up.
Terser misses with all his punches. His arms feel heavier, and not moving as fluidly. (No bull strength, and your belt is not working)
Aexana remembers recalling these creatures are immune to fire, and have extremely hard bodies that deflect most magical weapons.
Jozhurs two attacks connect. His dagger knicks the hard skin. (No sneak damage, no haste attack.)

It was impressive that as the fighters whaled on the construct, Jozhur move in and with deft attacks was able to carve into the metal as well as any warrior. He will walk over and touch Jozhur, having held on to the healing power he was unable to discharge within the creature's anti-magic effect.

Nice work putting down that clockwork abomination!
Rillett will push his helmet back on his head, and idly scratch his head.
Aexana raises a good point - what do we do now? Jozhur's initial touch did not summon that creature, only his prolonged touch seems to have done so. What is Alemi's eye? Maybe casting a healing spell, which is one of Alemi's domains, and then touching something on the mural will help. Anybody have any better ideas?
I do suggest that whomever touches the mural be clear of everyone else. No need for another opponent to damage more than just his target.

Well, it is 80 ft up. How many rounds until the lava is hurting our poor pawsies?
Climb skill says you climb one quarter of your speed per move action. Each move action requires a roll. Zeoll moves 40, so he climbs 10 ft on a successful move action. That's 8 move actions to get up to the top. 8 successful move actions!
The room is 10 by 10, and Zeoll, being large, is also 10x10. I'm hoping that means us taurs are basically in a chimney. The DC to climb is modified by ...
–10...Climbing a chimney (artificial or natural) or other location where you can brace against two opposite walls. –5...Climbing a corner where you can brace against perpendicular walls. +5...Surface is slippery.
So say the other side is slippery for a +5 to the DC, and there IS an opposing side for a -10 to the DC, and the net effect is a -5 to the DC. So instead of an 18, Zeoll needs a 13 to make it. He gets a -1 for Strength and is untrained. So he has to make 8 rolls at 1d20-1 that hit a 13 to climb to the top.
If he rolls a 9-12 he is okay, just fails to progress. If he rolls an 8 or less, he falls. Zeoll stows away his shield so he can use both hands to climb. He plans to reroll falls with hero points.
ROUND 1 1st move action: First roll: 14, up 10 ft. 2nd move action: Nat 1, falls. He'll take the 1d6 damage (rolled a 1) and tries again.
ROUND 2 1st move action: Gets up 2nd move action: rolls a 10, fails to even get up any distance.
ROUND 3 1st move action: rolls a 15, is 10 ft up! 2nd move action: rolls a 5, falls again, takes 3 damage.
ROUND 4 1st move action: gets up from prone 2nd move action: rolls a 13, is 10 ft up!
ROUND 5 1st move action: rolls a 19, is 20 ft up! 2nd move action: rolls a 4, uses a hero point, rolls again, a 13, is 30 ft up!
ROUND 6 1st move action: rolls a 18, is 40 ft up! 2nd move action: rolls a 12, still at 40 ft up.
ROUND 7 1st move action: rolls a 14, is 50 ft up! 2nd move action: rolls a 0, uses a hero point, rolls a 13, is 60 ft up!
ROUND 8 1st move action: rolls a 14, is 70 ft up! Almost there! 2nd move action: rolls another 0, uses a hero point, rolls a 17, is 80 ft up!
WooHoo! It takes Zeoll 8 rounds, 4 hp falling damage, and three hero points, but he makes it!

Jozhur can stand ok on the ledge, Magana is a little more pressed for space, but both know there is not enough room for Zeoll to rest on the ledge. Neither one sees a spot to tie the ropes to.
Directly across from the duo, the path continues down a hallway, but with a 10' gap from their ledge to the other hallway. There is no running room from their ledge.
Terser begins climbing the wall next, while Hashamon is struggling a bit. (DC is 20, no corner bonus). Hash is able to start up the wall but gains no more height. Aexana starts up behind Terser and is about the same level as Hashamon.
Zeoll, Etchelion and Rillet await their turns or some ropes. The lava continues to rise behind them, and those in their metal armor are beginning to sweat a lot. (Rillet's you are casting?. If your casting, or if it was cast on you before it doesn't work in the AM field. )
Some notes:I took the climbing order as the posts came in. Magana, Zeoll, and Hash cannot occupy the same level on the wall at the same time, but a med sized character can share it with them. Dm Shawn - Jumping Lava Friday September 11th, 2015 10:00:28 AM
Magana easily leaps across the 10 foot to the other ledge. She looks around. She is in a hallway that ends in a set of double doors.
Jozhur makes the jump easily as well, both of them take up the rope to help the others up.
Hashamon is the first to use the rope, and after a brief climb is able to make it.
Terser doesn't need the rope, and continues to scale the wall, getting to the ledge. (Need a Dc 20 acrobatics check to jump across).
On the ground Aexana is about 10' up, and stopped waiting for the rope. Once Hash is pulled up, she gets her end of the rope and is helped up the wall to the ledge. (Dc 20 acrobatics to leap across).
Etchelion is able to make it 50' up the wall before stopping. Instead of moving further, he awaits the end of the rope to climb up the remaining. (With the rope, your last three would pass). The leap across the ledge is a DC 20 Acrobatics check.
Zeoll and Rillet are the last two, and the lava is moving closer, where the popping bubbles are now splattering against Rillets armor. Luckily the metal is enough to keep the lava off his skin. Zeoll goes first, and is able to use the rope also to get to the ledge, which was tight for Magana is now almost useless for Zeoll uness he can stand on his hind legs.
Rillet is able to get almost to the ledge, when he runs out of steam. He needs help the last 5'. As he starts climbing, the lava passes to the bottom of the wall completely covering the bottom floor.
So.... Magana and Jozhur are on one side of the ledge. Terser and Hash are on the other side. Once they make their jump checks, (or Terser stays on the side to assist with the rope) then it would go in this order for jumping. (Aexana, Etchelion, Zeoll, Rillet and then Terser.) No two large creatures can occupy the ledge at the same time. DC 20 Acrobatics to jump.

As he waits to be hauled up the last 5 feet, he says, "Hey, before anyone jumps across, be sure you tie one of the ropes to yourself just in case. No sense taking any chances at this point."
After the others have gone it's his turn, and he's happy to accept the hand of the battle scarred dwarf. This all started with the message, ”Only in the footsteps of the Gods will good prevail.” Then we opened the first door by stepping on tiles representing the domains of Giving, Law, Nobility, Repose, Strength, and Trade. We concluded this represented the Gods of the Wold:
So far, we’ve completed a puzzle related to Alemi and Domi. Domi’s challenge related to Strength, but Alemi’s challenge didn’t mean Nobility. Now, it’s Flower with a focus on cooperation, but not necessarily giving. I suppose this may mean we still face challenges related to Pantheon, Gargul and Ffloy.
As for this one, perhaps a large, heavy, fragile glass cauldron simply means we’ll all need to cooperate to move it to that indentation without breaking it. Anyone have a blanket we can keep between it and the stone floor as we move it? But before we start moving anything, let’s find out what’s in that indentation by the far door. Maybe there’s an inscription in it.
Anyone notice anything else about this room?

"Darrn it, yes!" Zeoll agrees with Terser. "We have to worrk togetherr. All of us"
He readies the use of his shield to use as total cover if attacked. The creature is bigger then Zeoll and Hash. It looks to have a further reach then the minotaurs.
Rillett will move up to within attack range of the creature, and will assist Jozhur in his attacks.
Zeoll readies his tower shield for use for total cover, triggered by the glass monster attacking him. After readying his shield , he moves from Q-R-5-6 to O-P-8-9.
Hash growls.
Another one?!
He turns and runs down the corridor, skidding to a stop near Zeoll and drawing his quarterstaff.
Rillett wonders out loud, "Magic is suppressed here, yet this creature was magically able to form. Why is that? Maybe there's something here that will let us use magic too."
Rillett sees Zeoll move to the wall on the far side of the creature. He will move to R7 and aid another on Jozhur's attack, or someone else's if Jozhur does not attack.
Having a lot of ground to cover to get into position, Jozhur does not attack this round. He follows Rillets instructions and skirts around to the other side of the glass creation.
Ecthelion backs away from this creature to S1, brandishing his new and somewhat useless short sword while hoping nothing comes close enough for him to use it.
Magana, although startled by the sudden attack, responds quickly with a full attack of her own. Her one shot connects, and would fell a normal man but seems to midly wounded the creature. He wipes his tears away with his sleeve as he wipes the sweat off his brow, hoping that no one noticed. It's been a while since he was reminded of his brothers' deaths. His sadness for Hash is made less by the fact that his shared with these friends. He puts a hand on Ecth's shoulder, adds, "Hash was a mighty companion, and he sacrificed himself for us. We shall not forget him. May Gargul guide this gentle beast to his rest, and to long service in Queen Maab's Court."
“Aexana and Zeoll, you are probably our most skilled healers. Is there anything you two can do for Magana?”
Turning to the rogue, “Right Jozhur, I think we’re all ready to be done with this place. Let’s see what we can to go get out of here.”
As Aex and Zeoll tend to Magana, we’ll move Hash’s body up by the doors in case we need to go through them quickly.
Once Magana’s wounds are dressed, we’ll turn to the cauldron. Unless anyone has a better approach, we’ll arrange ourselves to alternate more and less nimble party members, so that if anyone does drop the cauldron perhaps the ones next to them can catch it. Only once all are ready will we attempt to carefully move it to the depression in the far end of the floor.

Magana, you make a good point. We know that Hash's spirit is no longer here. Gargul teaches us that the spirit leaves the body upon death, and I do not believe magic suppression can block this. But we couldn't just leave him back there.
Rillett brushs at the blood and gore on his robes, and frowns in disgust that his normally unnaturally clean robes remain soiled here. He then pushes his helmet halfway back on his head and taps his finger on his chin thoughtfully as he looks around the room.
Hmmm. Let us take stock of where we are. Creatures form, doors open and close on their own, there is lighting, we are healed. Our magic is suppressed, but there is magic at work here. Other rooms had clues, yet none is apparent here so perhaps we just haven't triggered the clue yet.
This whole place focuses on the Gods of the Wold. As Zeoll mentioned, we've had tests related to Alemi, Domi and Flower. Pantheon, Gargul and Ffloy remain. Could this one be for Gargul? Did the creator of this place anticipate one of us would be dead by now? Is this place dynamic such that once someone dies this room appears next? To that end, let's follow Magana's suggestion and place Hash on the table.
With others' help, Rillett will reverently place Hash on the table, arranging the great beast's torn body in a respectful state of repose.

Ecthelion helps as best he can with moving Hashamon into the next room. If nothing happens upon inspecting anything - the table, the door, any of the walls - then he will also help to move him onto the table.
DM RobC - There's gold on that there table! Monday September 28th, 2015 7:39:34 AM Rillet examines the room in as much detail as he can. As with the other rooms, the light seems to emanate from the stones in the walls and floor themselves. Enough to shed light, but not so much as to be blinding. Unlike in the other rooms, there is no visible writing on the door. Or walls. Or table. No writing at all! Everything in the room looks completely normal. It's a 50ft diameter, circular room with a bare, circular, wooden table in the centre. The doors at the other end of the room are made of stone. There are no visible handles or hinges. Still, stone can be broken down if one had the time and means.
Magana also examines the table - since there is nothing else that she can see to look at. Perfectly circular and perfectly smooth. She counts eight sturdy wooden legs holding the table up. She proposes the party lay Hash's body on the table. At the very least, it would allow her to say a blessing for his passing.
Zeoll is sure this is but another puzzle to solve. He looks all around the room but only notices the same things (and lack of things) that Rillet does. The room is silent, and even with his keen sense of smell, he detects nothing sinister nearby.
Aex makes the observation that it is odd to find such a table without any chairs. She and Ecth discuss the gnomish & halfling customs of second breakfast and elevensies. There is certainly nothing stopping the party from taking a break from the hard tasks of the day for a little bite to eat.
Rillet recaps what the party have learned from this place so far. The rooms seem dedicated to particular deities and test the party. This room could be the most puzzling. There aren't any clues or texts to indicate what needs to be done.
Not finding anything of note in the room Jozhur, Rillet, and Magana move to place Hash's body on the table.
That's when IT happens...
As soon as something has touched the table (it could have been Hash's boot, Jozhur's elbow or Magana's stomach) the light has instantly 'gone out' in the room.
The party are in complete darkness that not even darkvision can penetrate. Frustratingly, the parties magic still does not function!
After a moments pause, comes the sound of coins dropping on the table.
"There are 61 gold coins scattered on the table before you. 41 are heads side up, and 20 are tails side up. Sort them into two piles - with an equal number of heads and tails in each. The coin left over is to be placed in the center for Ffloy" comes a voice, that replays again and again in each of the known languages. The voice sounds both male and female if that is possible.
It takes close to five minutes for the voice to deliver its message and for the room to fall silent.
Hash opens his eyes and finds himself still in taur form. It takes a moment for him to gain his bearings. He is standing in a grassy field, and the sun shines warmly down from above. The smell of flowers is in the air and with just a hint of a breeze, he suspects it to be a glorious spring morning.
To his left and right stand a number of other minotaurs, each wearing nothing but a white cloth belt. They are standing at attention with their hands clasped behind their backs. Looking down, Hash realises that he is dressed in the same way.
"Let me repeat the question" comes a voice. Hash's attention is drawn to an older minotaur standing before the line "What is the purpose of a Kayleb?" The older minotaur is holding a quarterstaff and wearing a bright green belt.

Rillett (Bradley) HP 67/78 - AC 20/11/18 CMD 19 Monday September 28th, 2015 6:55:18 PM Interesting. The limitations are that we are to "Sort them into two piles - with an equal number of heads and tails in each." Nothing says the two piles must have equal total numbers of coins, and nothing says a coin cannot be turned over. Does this mean and equal number of heads and tails in each pile, meaning 10 heads and 20 tails? Or that each pile has to be comprised of equal numbers of heads and tails, meaning you can have one pile with one head and one tail, and the other with 29 heads and 29 tails?
If the former, then as Terser and Aexana suggest, we see if we can feel the difference between the two sides, and sort and arrange the piles accordingly, with the single remaining coin put in the center. Rillett reaches out to touch a coin. He will merely feel the surface of a few of them without moving them, lifting them off the table, or turning any over. Can he feel a difference between coins?
However, If it is the latter and each pile must have the same number of head and tails, then we will have to turn some over. If we get this wrong, I don't look forward trying to fight some creature in the dark.
