"Thanks, Trill!" Murphy says. "Last night I saw some more glowing flora, and insects, and such, but, as the local landscape has changed, it should be fun to find out what's out there this morning. Let's go!"

We're downright adorable " 4d20=39 ; Tuesday October 6th, 2015 1:34:32 AM Shel asks Muphy if he is up for some scouting before raising the concept of staying at the holow tree if there is no trail. She broaches the possibility of that the Culverwood is worse than Koshe Marr.
Murphy agrees to scout before sharing his odd dream with the party and asking if anyone else wants to come with.
Alleah is of the opinion that the Culverwood loves halflings and sets about making breakfast. The breakfast is substantially better than her last attempt at cooking.
Trill offers to scout with Murphy and the pair set off..
Murphy and Trill first climb the oak to get their bearings then move a little ways out before repeating this process at another tree. Along the way Murphy finds a patch of berries. The druid is able to secure 39 fresh picked berries. Other than that they do not see anything interesting so they make their way to another tree. The pair is on their way to another tree when stepping from a thicket they come face to face with another pair of halflings, also male and female.
The female halfling is short and light with red wavy shoulder length hair and soft blue eyes. She is wearing simple robes and boots and is carrying a haversack.
The male is also red-haired but possesses brown eyes and a lithe build. He dresses in a vestworn over a mithral chainshirt and simple trousers. A pair of daggers are sheathed on his belt and he also carries a haversack on his back along with a shortbow and quiver.
Who are these new halflings?

In the halfling tongue, with an accent of mixed Humble's Ford and Angel Springs, Murphy says, "Well, hullo. And, who might you two be, a-wanderin' twixt the arbors of the Culverwood?"
Then he takes a closer look. The male halfling he is not certain of any acquaintance he can recall at the moment. But the female. "Uh, that is, um, do you remember me? Out in Angel Springs? You go fairly often to ..." but he takes a moment to look around, just to see if there is anyone besides these two in the vicinity. And he thinks, maybe she does not want to be recognized out here. But, who else is around?
"My name is Murphy. Out of Humble's Ford. And this is one of my friends," he nods in Alleah's direction. He leaves it up to her as to whether she wants to share her name with perfect strangers.
"If you don't mind me asking, what brought you out this way?"

Concealed by her grey hooded cloak is shoulder length dark hair, green eyes and a fair skinned, flawless complexion. What she lacks in muscle definition she makes up for in form, being remarkably lithe for her age and race (she only recently turned 17). Unlike many halflings, Alleah chooses not to wear bright clothes - preferring greys, greens, and browns. She does not appear to be much of a traveller either, as no pack can be seen on her back, but does have many small pouches on her belt.

(OOC: There may be some minor changes to my gear over the next couple of days as DM and I finalize my sheets but the stats and build are mostly fixed as above. Also, Pressi is using a bag of holding, not a haversack.)
"Diamond Dust" Pressi was already quite convinced that this was the worst Shemini Atzeret ever when she and Kezzem ran across the other pair of... halflings? As the one she recognized (Murray? Morris? Right, Murphy) introduced himself, she tried to interpret his stilted conversation and looking around. Pressi considered whether to engage the pair in conversation or start kicking them in the face. If they were apparitions using her memories, it would be unwise to... do either really.
Finally, she decided that he seemed trust worthy enough, and they didn't have much choice in any case. Quickly but politely introducing herself, and biting back the sarcastic responses to what they were doing here (or the relief she felt if the familiar face is true), she explained how they were part of a caravan from Crescent Hills to Dirt City that got caught in a storm. Their wagon separated from the rest of the caravan and eventually took an up.
"Blessings to Domi, it's been a fun trip," she concluded. "So what about you two?"

"Pressi!" Murphy, who a moment before seemed uncertain, now breaks into a huge smile. "Oh, may I give you a hug?" Unless she declines his offer, he does so, then steps back. "I can hardly believe it, finding you out here in the middle of the beautiful Culverwood."
He turns to Alleah. "Pressi is a cleric of Domi - among other things. I saw her a few times at Domi's temple. She and my sister Leska made friends over in Angel Springs. And I think my older brother, Nalfein, gave her a hard time, too." At the mention of Nalfein, for some reason Murphy rubs the back of his head, as if checking for its well-being.
Murphy then looks to Pressi's companion, and offers his right hand for a shake. "Friend, I'm Murphy Leafwin Pipewood, out of Humble's Ford. How are you known?"
After introductions, Murphy briefly explains their situation. "We're on our way back to Crescent Valley, coming up from Goblin's Rest, and enjoying the Culverwood's clever ways meanwhile. We hope to get there soon, in order to prevent something bad from happening. Or, happening again. Hey, There are more of us back a few hundred yards. C'mon with us, and we'll introduce you to the rest of the team."
Should Pressi and Kezzem agree to go with them, they guide them back to the huge oak. "Hey, everyone, we found friends in the forest!" He lets everyone exchange names and such for a bit.
Shel Gerald--AC 15/14/12--CMD 14--HP 39/39 Tuesday October 6th, 2015 4:52:13 PM "Are you sure they are friends out here Murphy? After the spiders and other bad things, be really sure you trust them!" Shel was a small cute little halfling. Her viewing the world as a wonderous beautiful place had taken a bit of a shellacking after their recent travels. "I don't suppose they know the way home, do they," she asks hopefully.
If Murphy gives them the all clear, Shel introduces herself. "Anyway, I'm Shel. Shel Breezelee Krolmnite. I'm from Humbles' Ford. I'm sure Murphy has told you all about it. It's wonderful, and we are trying our best to get back there. In one piece. And I'm not sure we are achieving that or not," she says with a tired smile.
"Sorry if I'm not myself. I'm just tired. Tell me about yourselves. It's nice to meet you. How did you end up in this place?"

Pressi, despite herself, does hug Murphy back in relief. It takes her some time to get back to "in control," while she considers some of the Culverwood's stories. "Well, shift happens," she replies.
Despite some reluctance, Pressi does agree to go back. Domi demands that she return to protect those in need. Self preservation demands she find a protector herself. Pride, however, bristles in the face of Shel's accusations. How DARE these apparitions accuse her of being an apparition. She hadn't felt like one in years.
Control, she told herself. Control.
"Sorry I don't have better information of how to get home," she replied after retelling her story. "I tried punching the trees, and that's basically all I've got."

Somehow in the confusion of the shifting forest, Trill decided to stay back at camp and Alleah and Thistle went scouting with Murphy.
The scout was not uneventful as the pair ran into 2 other halflings wandering around the Culverwood.
Murphy introduces himself and seems to recognize the female as Pressi, a cleric of Domi that hung around with his relations.
Alleah also introduces herself and asks if the other pair are lost.
Murphy and Pressi exchange tales of how both groups wound up wondering the Culverwood and Murphy invites Pressi and Kezzem back to the rest of the party.
Shel is a bit dubious of the newcomers, but introduces herself nonetheless and excuses her social faux-pas as being tired.
Pressi controls herself around Shel's questioning of her and Kezzem's motives and relates her tale once again to the greater party.
Bliss, Mookie, Trill, and Kezzem are all silent.

Seeing the wisdom in strength in numbers, Humble's Sword absorbs 2 new halflings that the group met in the wilderness and the 7 halflings, pony and raven set off on their journey home.
You travel for a while together until around midday you enter a clearing in the Culverwood and are surprised to find a large simple wooden table in the middle of the clearing, laid out with fruits, berries, wine glasses and carafes of wine. What could be up with this table in the middle of your path?

Bliss yawns and rubs his eyes. He casts a spell (Reduce Person). "How come you let me sleep in."

Bliss looks around and sees two new people. He promptly fades away into the shadows under the tree, even if you were looking right at him. [OOC: Hide in Plain Sight, Stealth check 35.]
He stays a bi back to look at the newcomers while he wakes up.

If the food doesn't ping as magical, she will let the others determine if it was safe for eating or not.

"I'm pretty sure we got everything that was salvagable," Pressi replied to Shel. (OOC: DM needs to rule whether this is true.) "I could take you there if you want."
Pressi jolts back as Shel offers her hand and a ride, but keeps cool. "Blessings upon you, but I can assure you that I am quite fine."

When Shel asks if Waard knows they are coming, Pressi almost jumps out of her skin, but composes herself. "That's absolutely insane," she replies (Bluff 7). {Highlight to display spoiler: {Pressi was actually heading to Dirt City's Temple of Waard for further instructions for a secret mission. She suspects her presence in the wood is not random.}}.
"At any rate, I agree with you that eating the food may be dangerous. More importantly, however, don't you think it is impolite?" She sits down at a chair (or on a blanket if no chairs), clearly avoiding the head of the table. "After all, our host has yet to arrive."
She scans the surrounding forest for others. [Perception 19].

Trill looks over the newcomers and momentarily breathes a bit easier as she won't be the only new face to the group when She realizes that Murphy is at least familiar with one of them. She lets the others talk a bit remaining in the background and then steps forward to introduce herself.
"Hey there! I am Trillium Fastfingers, Trill for short. Unlike the rest of the group I am not from Humbles Ford, or even the Crescent Valley for that matter. I am from just outside of Plateau city and just joined up with these guys and gals a few days ago."
(Trill has long loose; dark auburn hair that always seems to be mussed up. Her eyes are her most startling features and the one thing she inherited from her mother. They are fairly large and a deep violet in color. Her skin tone is quite dark but not quite black. Trillium is usually found wearing very large loose and baggy outfits that cover can her leather armor. A grey cloak is usually draped around her shoulders, kept there by a silver trillium brooch.)

After Alleah calls out her greeting 2 gossamer winged halflings wearing simple clothing fly out from the wood. They are carrying a tray laden with four more carafes of wine. One of the fey halflings appears to be male and the other female.

The 2 then proceed to pour wine from the carafes on the tray. The male halfling pours wine from the upper right carafe for Shel, Alleah and Pressi The female halfling pours wine from the upper right carafe for Murphy, Kezzem and pours wine from the lower left carafe for Trill.
It appears as if you have been invited to a lunch party, what luck!

Murphy claps his hands. "Ah, wonderful wingéd gnomes! And in service to mine own Lord, Eberyon." He bows his head in reverence, "Acceptance of his blessings, and that full of gratitude, to him, and to you his servants." And he again briefly inclines his head by way of thanks to the female halfling who poured his wine.
He raises his cup, and stands. "To the Lord Eberyon, re-born in these very woods, and then re-formed by the will of many great and small of the Wold, let us raise our cup. I believe his hand has not been still during our traverse of the mighty Culverwood thus far. Let us welcome this joyful feast - the abundant fruit of wild and fertile ground!"
He drinks the toast, then sits, and grabs a cluster of grapes, and pops them, one at a time, a dozen in all, in his mouth, each one a small bursting of refreshment (with some degree of chewing and swallowing, so as to make room for the next).
"How comes it that you were guided to be wings of blessings unto us?" he asks his hosts.

Shel raises her cup to raise in Murphy's toast. She was surprised Murphy was so trusting....she wasn't to that level just yet, so she didn't drink from her cup, only just raised it to her lips.

"Yes, we are glad to make your acquaintance. We've met creatures that were much less friendly than yourself out here," Shel says with a smile, trying to take the measure of the new forest halflings.

Pressi shrugged at Trill as she started to move some of her shuriken into a belt pouch and arrange her weapons. "Well, if it makes you feel better, I'm originally from Dirt City, and actually spent some time in Plateau city. If you ever had money, I probably served, begged or stole from you at some point. Wasn't my best moments, sorry."
"So how did you wind up here?" Pressi asked.

Pressi is taken aback, scrambling to comprehend the winged halflings above her. So when Murphy called out that they were winged gnomes, she understood even less than she did before.
In particular, she continued to reel at the ways of Waard, scrambling to remember bits and pieces regarding wings or tables. (Know History 8, Know Religion 22). Still, she remembered that unusual circumstances and potential death were not reasons for ill manners.
After some hesitation with Murphy's toast (shouldn't the gnomes specifically invite us to drink first? But now that he made the toast, would it be rude not to drink?), she raises her glass and takes a sip. Using a quick draw to produce her fan, she talks (in gnome tongue) about her own serving experiences and asks how they have enjoyed serving forest dwellers so far (Diplomacy 18).
But as she looks among the fruit, berries and wine before her, a thought suddenly pops in her head. What are they serving as a protein?

Trill looks to the two winged Halflings (Perception 22) and sees the male for what he is and assumes that the other is the same.
As Trill accepts the offered glass of wine, she is a bit flustered by the fact that Murphy is already drinking from Fae offered food and drink. Remembering some old stories (knowledge History DC 25) heard about dealing with the Fae makes her uneasy about being obligated to the Fae in any particular manner.
Turning to the male and and female winged halfings, she politely speaks.
" Greetings and well met indeed. Am I understand that YOU are ASKING us to do you the Favor of dining with you? For I have heard stories about mysterious things that happen to mortal folk when they partake of the food of the Fae and I would hate for their to be any misunderstandings between any of us."
A voice from the shadows cries out, "They have WINGS! No fairr!"
Bliss steps up. Mookie calls down from a branch above. "Manners!"
The tiny halfling blushes. "Sorry! I'm Bliss! Nice to meetcha!"
"But where did you get wings! I'd like wings! I remember having some myself, a long time ago! I miss flying!"
"Hey, is this a party? Wowsy!"
He pauses before sipping the wine, and asks the newcomers and the flying halflings, "This isn't a trick, now, is it? Cause that would be mean."
Mookie hides his eyes under a wing.

Murphy accepts the wine, offers a toast to Eberyon, tucks into nature's bounty laid before them before asking how they came to offer their winged blessing.
Kezzem thanks the female halfling and asks if the pair of them are alone.
Shel accepts the glass, raises it to her lips, but does not drink, smiles and mentions they have met less friendly creatures than their new hosts in the Culverwood.
Pressi had been continuing her conversation with Trill when the winged halfling hosts appeared. Pressi is confused by Murphy calling the halflings gnomes and wracks her brain to remember religious or historical significance from tables or wings but does not come up with anything relevant to the situation at hand. Not wanting to be rude, she drinks to Murphy's toast before idly wondering with all this fruit and veg laid before them, what the protein that will be served will be.
Trill sees the male "halfling" for what he really is and is wary of being offered food by the Fae. She asks for clarification regarding the dining situation.
Bliss emerges from the shadows jealous of the fact that their hosts have wings. Mookie cautions Bliss about his manners, so the tiny halfling introduces himself. Bliss is curious how their hosts have wings and is impressed by the spread asking if they are at a party. He takes a sip from the wine cup offered by the male (poured from the lower right) that was offered with Bliss's sudden appearance. Bliss then asks if this is a trick and Mookie just hides his head.

As Murphy, Pressi and Bliss drink from their cups the other 2 winged gnomes appear from the trees. There is a azure female gnome and a viridian coloured male gnome. The other two "halflings" drop their disguises revealing a scarlet coloured female gnome and an eggplant coloured male gnome. They introduce themselves as Petalia (scarlet, female), Calloran (viridian, male), Valyrian(eggplant, male) and Nialiao(azure, female).
Murphy, if you fail you are charmed by the azure female gnome. Pressi, if you fail you are charmed by the viridian male gnome.
Petalia says, "We are not alone, Valyrian and Nialiao were in the trees the whole time. We are a fey gnome witches coven devoted to Eberyon and yes we are asking you to dine with us. In fact if you find this meal agreeable we are hoping that some of you might stay with us. It gets lonely in the Culverwood sometimes and we are looking for husbands and wives. We are hoping that some of you will be agree able to staying." she smiles.
To answer Bliss's question yes this was indeed a trick, what now?

He takes up the wine cup. "The wine is good of taste, the hospitality offered generous on the surface. Loneliness can be a trying condition. If you will promise on the blood of the Wold and the name of Eberyon that you will not harm us, no coerce us, nor attempt to deceive us, then may we dine together, perhaps. And discuss, as among friends, rather than as potential captives, ways to alleviate your lonely state, without resorting to subterfuge."
He takes the cup, and tips it slightly, allowing only a single drop to fall to the ground. "Let this small drop of wine be all that is spilled today while we are together." He sets down the cup.
"What do you think? Can we discuss openly, in a friendly and honest style? If not, then we are on our way. If so, then perhaps by putting our minds together, we might help each other with each other's needs."
Bliss struggles to throw off the effect of the cursed drink.

[OOC: I think if I can make a perception check at -20 to hear them, then I can pinpoint their space and fire into it. Even then, that's with a 50% miss chance, Bliss still plans to snipe.

Pressi succumbs to the effect of the wine and finds herself inexplicably drawn to Calloran, she beckons him closer and asks him to tell her about himself.
Alleah at first comes to her fellow witch's defense at Shel's threatening demeanor, but then gets the sense that something is not right with Pressi so she tries to convince the gnomes she can turn them into lawn ornaments but she does not have enough time to sell the lie. She does identify that Pressi has been charmed by charm person and successfully dispels the effect. She notices that Murphy resisted being charmed and that Bliss is suffering from the effects of blindness/deafness. Her arcane knowledge does nothing save confirm that they are fellow witches. (OOC: roll knowledge nature)
Murphy tries to reason with the gnomes as a fellow servant of Eberyon, asking them to end the spells and try to work together to solve the parties problems of being in the Culverwood and the witches problem of being lonely. He symbolically spills a single drop of wine to ask that that be all that is spilled this day.
Bliss becomes blinded by beverage, taking offense to this before hiding in plain sight and moving to the right. He draws his bah and attempts to pinpoint the gnomes. None of the gnomes know where the halfling went. (OOC: I'm going to say that since they aren't currently making efforts to hide you just have to beat a DC 20 so you know where all 4 are currently. You can roll an attack with your next post because things are about to get real)
Kezzem stealthily draws his dagger, ready to throw it at one of the gnomes should things escalate. None of the witches seem to notice this save Nialiao who screams, "One of them has a knife!"
Murphy incredulous that they actually blinded Bliss tries to stay Bliss and Kezzem's hands. He tells them to restore Bliss's sight or it will not go well for them in a commanding voice before in a more calm voice beseeches them help Bliss, invoking Eberyon and his cousin before lamenting the fact that he may have to harm gnomes.
"We don't have the means to remove your friends blindness." One of the gnomes says before they all teleport 40 feet in the air above the table.
Once there Petalia uses a spell-like-ability to cause a 40 foot radius of the plants around the table to entangle the party. (reflex save: DC 16 or be entangled)

Spellcraft on Calloran's spell yields a natural 20 on the roll for a 29, so Shel knows that is a Blindness/Deafness spell. Shel's Will save versus Nialio's spell is a 22, so she avoids that spell, which she rolls a 17 on her Spellcraft and knows that it is another Blindness/Deafness. Spellcraft against Valyrian's spell is a 28, so she knows a Calm Emotions spell has been cast. Finally, Shel's Will against that spell is a 21, so she saves against it. To summarize, she made all her saves and all her spellcraft rolls, so she knows what is happening.
Shel casts Haste on her friends, as she calls out all the effects of the spells that the gnomes had just cast. As the Entangle spell wasn't affecting her yet, she scampers 20' due north, just out of the range of the grasping weeds.

Well that escalated quickly!
"Bliss? Show yourself for a moment. I'll help you see again!" She readies a spell to remove the blindness from her closest friend. But with that done, she has cast her allotment of 3rd level spells for the day.
She then calmly addresses the rest of the party "Ok, if anyone feels calm and relaxed, could you please calmly walk over here for a moment? I have something I want to tell you". What they don't know is that Alleah is clenching her fist behind her back. If any of her calmed friends gets within reach she plans to knock some sense into them.
Of course, they are still surrounded by flying gnomes. To help provide some concealment, Alleah draws on her reserves and casts Obscuring Mist around the party.
And finally, concealed by the mist, she takes a step onto the table and away from the entanglement of the ground and takes her net out of her kit.

Pressi thought she would be angry at having her emotions and urges so manipulated, or fearful at how she had stumbled into a melee's nightmare. But she did not. She felt calm. Serene. Nothing. She had achieved a moment of zenful clarity, an almost giddiness at the situation.
And in the moment of clarity, her courtesan/entertainer skills began to come to the fore.
"You told me I would replace her," Pressi screamed as a pair of mauve wings (hat of disguise activated as standard action) erupted from her. "I bring them here, and I replace her! That was the deal!"

Murphy notes that the gnomes are continuing their attacks against Humble's Sword, despite his offer. Due to their blockheaded and counterproductive means of gaining friendship, they're really making enemies, and oh so unwisely - though the actions of one or two members of his party did tilt things the way they are going. And not that the gnomes' tactics now that they've set forth are foolish or ineffective - they could cause the group real harm. The druid has given up talk for the moment. He thinks Pressi rather clever in her response, though.
He steps up on the table (in the spot between 5' and 10' from the north edge, and near the center of the table, so as to not tip the platform - he steps with a bit of care to as not to trip, gently nudging what needs to be nudged to the side so he may stand) as Alleah's mist obscures, and begins to call forth a trio of small air elementals (Summon Natures Ally III in lieu of lvl 3 spell protection from energy), which should show up next round. Once they arrive, their role will be to slam into the airborne gnomes as often as possible.

Shell resists the effects of the spells around her, and with a quick eye can see what their former “hosts” are doing in the sky above her. She casts Haste on her friends, and move north 20’, but she finds that area is entangled as well (40’ radius spread.)
Allleah calls out to Bliss to show himself, and she readys an action to dispel his blindness if she sees him. She manages to catch a glimpse of him, and removes his blindness. Bliss can see!
To the rest she asks that they calmly walk to her if they feel calm and relaxed. She waits with a smile on her face to coldcock one of her friends should they provoke an attack from her - none do. (Estimate 1 in 3 chance someone will move in such a way to you - none do.)
Then she moves up onto the table and heroically creates an obscuring mist to cover her friends [hero point used].
(I gave Alleah the benefit of the doubt and figured you would chose to move onto the table instead of pulling a net from your haversack. Moving up onto the table is more than just a 5-foot move, even with agile feet. Agile feet is for difficult terrain.)
Pressi’s appearance shifts and what seems to be a pair of mauve wings drape across her back. (Hat of disguise will not create additional limbs or wings, even non-functioning ones.) She feign’s rage as a fellow witch, and struggles to put a cup full of liquid into her sling. (Pressi will sling the cup with a -4 to hit [improvised weapon, shifting liquid, and rather big for a small sling).
Trill moves 20’ south to escape the twisting vines around her feet. She feels a calm wash over her, but the hero in her shakes off the enchantment - now she’s really mad [hero point used]. She shoots Petalia and hits as electricity dances across the witch’s skin.
Kezzem move to K9 diagonal to Alleah. (Alleah was still in K8 when he moved, so no AOO, but I did give it a chance.) As the mist envelopes him, he really doesn’t see what all the fuss is about. Everyone should just relax.
Bliss is not happy about these stupid vines holding him in place, but remains otherwise untroubled. He is glad that he can see his friends now. And then a nice, calm mist takes that away. He can still see Petunia as Trill’s arrow delivers it’s shocking effect. Now why would anyone be shooting at a time like this? He drinks his Elixer of Hiding.
Murphy thinks this all could have been handled better, but those gnomes are the real problem now. He carefully move up onto the table and begins summoning some help as he is covered in a thick, grey mist. (Please let me know where you summon them as the mist covers you.)

Shel could figure out the first spell, but got caught unawares as suddenly her vision was taken from her! "Guys, help! I'm blind! Stupid fey got me.". Not being able to see where she was going, Shel hunkered down and did not move or cast a spell this round, not knowing where her targets might be.

"I am the owl," Murphy says to his friends in halfling - which Bliss will not understand, nor likely Mookie - and hopefully not the gnomes. "Attack until you hear me hoot three times."
In Auran, he says, to the air elementals, "Olen pöllö. Hyökätä maahiset kunnes kuulet minua viheltää kolme kertaa," which means the same as what he said in Halfling - but he also specifies that they attack the gnomes.
In common, he says, "Gnomes - you attack & harm, yet claim we can all be friends. Your words and actions do not match. We will defend ourselves until you stop attacking. I will not speak again to you until you agree to stop all attacks, indeed, and do stop, fully. SURRENDER, or SUFFER. Surrender, and have peace."
Murphy then changes form to that of a large owl, and takes wing, flying up and out of the obscuring mists between the trees, banking left at K1, and continuing an upward course, mainly keeping a tree between himself and Calloran until he gets up about his level, if possible (fly 60 (average), plus haste, ascending - how high can he get by the beginning of next round, starting about three to five feet off the ground?).
The three small air elementals, meanwhile, ascend to the winged maahiset - the gnomes. Two go against Nialiao. The first (E1), hawk-like in form, slams against the gnome (AC 20, 4 hp damage), then shoots up a bit higher in the air, a little behind (P6). The second (E2), looking wasp-like, comes close, perhaps glancing against the fae (AC 16, 3 hp dam), ending 10 feet above, at (N8).
Over a ways, the retaliating Petalia is rushed by the swirling smokey (E3), which barrels against her chest (AC 27, dam 3), and then shoots up another few feet to (P14).

Of all the strange things that occurred today to Pressi, the strangest might be that both enemy and ally heard Pressi declare that she would betray and kill them all in the pursuit of power, and nobody even batted an eye. Nobody could even spare a glance to see if she was lying. That's how jaded the world is today.

Pressi watched Valyrian dive into the tree, but loses her in the branches. It is just as well, as Valyrian was never her target. She still had another debt to be paid first.
With haste adding extra speed to her monk speed, she easily runs out of the entanglement area (G3) with an eye towards a tree.
"Bless your wonderful heart," she called to "her beloved" Calloran. "But I'm an old fashioned gal. I think that before we get married, we should share a drink."
Pressi fires.

If Calloran is effected towards her, Pressi will consider but ultimately reject pitting him against Valyrian, but she will preen those fake wings and that flirting face, and beg him to please consider just talking to Murphy.

When she hears Shel call out for help in the mist, she does not hesitate to follows Shel’s voice and come to her aid.
Shel resists the effects of the entangle spell (forgot to tell you, but rolled a 17 for you so you saved). Unfortunately, Shel is then blinded, and hunkers down where she is. She calls out for help and Allleah comes to her aid.
Kezzem shakes off that calming effect and moves south out of the mist, ready for action. He throws a dagger at the flying gnome and hits. The dagger returns to him. Kezzem - Perception 15: Highlight to display spoiler: { you hit, but it does no damage.}
Bliss thanks Alleah, wherever she is in that mist. He falls prone into the tangling vines that hold him fast. He finds that they interfere with his ability to shoot, but hits his target nonetheless. (At the edge of the mist, you can see out just fine. Others can see where you are, but have a 20% miss chance against you due to concealment.) It’s also nice to have Mookie there by his side and the vines try to wrap around the raven.
Murphy’s aerial cavalry arrives, and moves off to attack. Three swirling forms move against the gnomes, two attacking Nialio and one battering Petalia. Then Murphy shifts into an owl form and moves north, on the other side of a tree from Calloran.
Pressi’s is puzzled that no one took notice of her outburst. She’s glad to be clear of that calmness, ready to be angry with these rotten gnomes. She informs her Calloran that she’s not that kind of girl, and proposes a toast, flinging her drink at the gnome. It hits him in the forehead, splashing a purple swath across his face and chest. (I gave it a 1 in 20 chance he ingested some, didn’t happen.)
Trill shoots arrows at Petalia, and electricity again dances across her skin. Perception 15 to see: Highlight to display spoiler: { you hit, but it does no physical damage, and she seems untroubled by the electricity.}
Poor Thistle struggles against the vines and weeds, but is held fast.
----------------------- Petalia Laughs, “Oh these spirits of the air are fun playthings. We would rather play with you.” Then Bliss’s crossbow bolt sticks in her and she stops laughing. “Ouch. Oh you nasty little thing. You know you could have lived in contentment with us instead of this kind of behavior.” She will move into the tree [provokes an AOO from the elemental] gaining concealment (20% miss chance) . She ignores Trill, and she harmlessly casts Glitterdust in P10-Q11, not quite sure where the attack came from.
Calloran gets hit in the head with a cup, wine dripping down his face and chest. “Why you ungrateful little witch! We could have meant something to each other - you could have been mine! You sound a little crazy, which makes you even more exciting. How could you pass up this gorgeous hunk of gnome? Here, let me leave you with just a mental image of me.” He taps into a strong ley line (spell not lost) as he casts a spell on Pressi (Will save: DC 17 or be blind.)

Trill feels the witches spell begin to sap her agility Will DC 9 and knows there is nothing she can do about it. Pressi called out to the rest of the team how Calloran kept attempting to blind her. "Anybody who has cures, do not attempt to cure me. I repeat, save your cure for someone else. I will be fine." With a smile to Calloran, "I think you'll find I'm still full of surprises.
"And what of you, kind sir? Yet another blindness spell? Or will you follow up with another enchantment? Because I can't help but notice that your spell list is rather... lacking. Do you even have a way to deal damage or do you just stay up there until we get bored and walk away?
"As for how I can resist such a handsome gnome, its my understanding that people who ask things like that already know the answer. But you should know that I haven't taken sex completely off the table, should you be willing to come down here on my terms. Otherwise...."
With a flick of her wrists similar to how she brought out her fan, three cold iron shuriken seemed to appear (quick draw from pouch). "You can have me, if you can figure out what to do with me."

Mookie and Bliss may be entangled, but Bliss keeps on shooting. He shoots at Petalia, taking a penalty since the elemental is fighting too.
Is there a miss chance? If so, Bliss rolls a 87, so no problem.
His attack roll is usually a +11, but with -4 into a melee, he's at +7. He shoots and hits AC17. If that's a hit, then the second cold iron bolt in this clip does 4 damage.
Since Bliss is sniping, he makes a Stealth check to remain hidden. Stealth 34.
He keeps alert for anything that he can notice. Perception 24.

Elementals 1 & 2 take their AoOs vs Nialiao, likely missing (AC 15 for 3 hp; AC 13 for 2 hp) as the gnome flies away from them to the tree. E1 zips to the tree with Nialiao, and transforms into a whirlwind, whipping about the branches in front of the gnome, and filling the air with debris of twigs and needles (or leaves, depending upon the type of tree). The elemental dances to and fro in the area between the tree trunk on one side, in front of the gnome, and the tree trunk on the other side, whipping up the air in the vicinity. It does not try to engulf the creature, but rather, as instructed, to bother him, keeping up the harrassing encirclement the whole time. If Nialiao moves, the whirlwind moves with him, again going round and round the winged gnome.
E2 dashes over to Calloran, and trying to smack into him. The gnome manages to flit to the side to miss the charging bundle of air (AC 10, miss), and E2 ends at G5.
Murphy, meanwhile, has climbed to sufficient height and higher - from 50' in the air, the large owl comes from the side, dipping down at the last moment to a place about 6 feet above the flitting gnome's head, and lets loose with the remains of the breakfast he has been processing during the day - splat on Calloran's head with a slice of mutes (droppings) (d20=19+6 ranged? or +4 melee? + 1 haste = AC 26 or AC 24 - no appreciable damage, but perhaps a bit of caustic liquid may get in Calloran's eyes or the like).
He banks and finds a branch near the trunk of D6, body mainly obscured by the trunk, but just peering with one eye to see what Calloran does next - looking down from ~50' above the ground to the gnome 10' below and a bit away from the tree. If it looks like Calloran is about to cast in his direction, he plans to duck behind the trunk, and hop up to a higher branch on the side of the tree away from the gnome.

Trill continues to shoot arrows at Petalia. Electricity dances across her skin, yet she seems to ignore the arrows and the electricity. Trill feels his eyesight begins to dim, and he heroically resists the effect. (Hero point used).
Shel is still in the area of the entangle spell and is held fast (didn’t see a save by you so I rolled - 12 was a fail). Unfortunately, Shel is also blinded and stands next to Allleah.
Allleah stands by Shel, and casts silence on the tree where Nialiao is. (I assume you center it up in the tree so that it does not affection Alleah and Shel.)
Pressi’s has had enough of this. She speaks to Calloran saying she is full of surprises - first taunting him, then complimenting him, and finally burying two shuriken into his shoulder and thigh. They hit their mark and he howls in pain.
Elemental 1 forms a whirlwind to distract Nialiao. Branches and leaves whip her face and she squints against the wind.
Elemental 2 goes after Calloran, but misses.
Bliss seems glad to have Mookie by his side even if they're both trapped in the vines. They interfere a bit with shot, but he still hits Petalia.
Murphy/Owl flies over Calloran, attempting to poop on him, but misses (I know you rolled well, but without Flyby Attack, having flying creatures poop on folks as a free action is not really a road we want to go down.) Murphy/Owl lands in a nearby tree.

Over the sounds of tendon snapping and bristling hair, Pressi began to speak through her waist length hair. "One thing though. I need you to take back your insult that I am a little crazy. I AM NOT LITTLE."

Pressi the seven foot bugbear let out a soft growl, staring through yellow eyes, taking in Calloran's scent. With a start, she begins to climb the tree next to her.

Pressi impotently paws at the tree (Roll 13 does not beat DC 15). More haste, less speed, she recalls.

Trying something a little different, trill drops her bow and runs (hasted) to ) 17 where she grabs a stone out of her pack and suing her sling lofts it upward into the tree about ten feet below where she last saw Petalia and hears the voices now and smashes the thunderstone on the trees trunk. Thunderstone: Each creature within a 10-foot-radius spread must make a DC 15 Fortitude save or be deafened for 1 hour. A deafened creature, in addition to the obvious effects, takes a –4 penalty on initiative and has a 20% chance to miscast and lose any spell with a verbal component that it tries to cast

The hawk-like elemental (E1) so recently pressing Nialiao manages to not be charmed by her spell, but no longer can tell where she is, so it moves slightly away from the tree, and sees the most available gnome not currently pretending to be a tree ornament. The other elemental takes advantage of the passing wind bundle to attack from the opposite side. E2 enjoyed similar lack of success, other than to harry the gnome.
E3, on the other side, decides that tree arranging, as performed by its fellow elemental, is in vogue, and, moving to P15, whirlwinds up, cutting back and forth, back and forth, to Q15, R15, down 5 feet still on R15, over to Q15, P15, down 5 feet, over to Q15, R15. That'll do.

Shel is able to overcome the entangle spell (strength check or escape artist check, but she rolled hight enough.) She uses her newfound freedom to move out of the entangled area, though she still can’t see anything.
Allleah watches Shel move out of the entanglement, and move over beneath Calloran. She casts Truestrike.
Trill moves over toward Petalia, taking a stone out of his pack as she goes. Then she slings the stone into the tree and hears Petalia shriek as the stone explodes in sound.
Kezem climbs higher in the tree and stabs wildly in Petalia’s direction, but fails to connect.
Bliss sees Petalia vanish, but tries to hit her anyway. It’s a miss. He stays hidden, entangled in the vegetation.
Elemental 1 attacks Calloran, but misses.
Elemental 2 goes after Calloran, but misses.
Elemental 3 forms a whirlwind and rips through the tree Petalia is hiding in. She’s having a bad day.
Murphy/Owl flies over to the table, grabs a bunch of grapes, and then moves back out of the mist. (In the future, Murphy cannot do this - picking up an item is a separate move action. He may want to consider taking Flyby Attack.)
Thistle whinnies wildly in the mist as thunder echoes through the area. He struggles against the vines and weeds, but is still held fast.
----------------------- Petalia appears in the tree after the thunderbolt with her hands clasped over her ears. She glares at Trill. “DON’T DO THAT! What is WRONG with you?” Then she looks at Kezem stabbing in her direction, realizing he has not fallen under her spell. She moves out of his range to a position near Valyrian, provoking an AOO from Kezem. “Oh you sweet, homicidal little man. It may not work out for us after all. Here’s a little gift for you instead.” But as she reaches for her spell, the ley lines betray her and nothing happens (uses up a spell). Except for her screaming in frustration.
Valyrian, however flies into a rage and screams at Kezem, “DON’T YOU TOUCH HER - CAN’T YOU SEE SHE’S HURT!. You like knives? Well I can fix that.” He reaches for a spell, and gets it - barely (uses up a spell). He move into the tree and tries to touch Kezem, but fails.

The constant back and forth with Calloran had taken its toll on Pressi. She hated herself for sinking to his level, hated herself for losing control. That wasn't her... well, wasn't supposed to be her anyway. She finally decided, starting now, to speak as the lawful good monk she was.
"Oh come now," she called to Calloran. "Surely you can learn to appreciate a powerful woman werebear."

Murphy can hear the voices scattered about the area, but is hard pressed to actually spot any of the fae gnomes - so he flies up higher, hoping soon to discern where a gnome might be that he may deliver his offering. He wants to give it to someone besides Calloran. There needs to be something they can do to break this rather insane pattern. He gains 25' in altitude, and lands on a branch of the tree at Q8. He peers about, and listens for the voices of the gnomes. He hopes no one suffers any permanent damage from these faeish follies.

Air elemental E3 may not be able to see Valerian, but the voice is distinct. Down in the tree. This is fun, kicking up the branches. Down the elemental descends, transforming again into the whirlwind. From the height of 30', downward in 5' increments, it strips branches and casts twigs about, along coordinates P15, P16, P17, bothering the screaming gnome some more.
E1 and E2 have lost sight of Calloran - but there is one, quite nearby. They make a mad dash toward Nialiao. E1 poofs into her for 5 hp damage, then up to 30' altitude at L5, while E2 goes whirlwind, and dances a circle about her, from next to the trunk and around the corner (M5, M6, N7, M6, M5), then out to L6 at Nialiao's altitude of 25'.

When it strikes a hard surface (or is struck hard), it creates a deafening bang that is treated as a sonic attack. Each creature within a 10-foot-radius spread must make a DC 15 Fortitude save or be deafened for 1 hour. A deafened creature, in addition to the obvious effects, takes a –4 penalty on initiative and has a 20% chance to miscast and lose any spell with a verbal component that it tries to cast.
Since you don't need to hit a specific target, you can simply aim at a particular 5-foot square. Treat the target square as AC 5.

Cursing her poor luck, Shel lies prone, making it harder for her to be struck with any arrows or such.
Hiding at the edge of the mist, tangled in unfriendly vines, Bliss thinks maybe he can get a shot off at that Valyrian one. First off, will he miss because of the target's foliage? a 45% says no? Okay, so can he shoot? Normally he is a +11, but that's +9 with the -2 penalty from being tangled. Plus -4 shooting into melee, so we're down to +5.
Bliss shoots the 4th cold iron bolt in his clip. He rolls a nat 19, hitting AC24, and maybe even critting. His follow up hits AC13, so no.
Damage is 6 if everything aligns.

Trill steps back, and fires an alchemist fire at Petalia. "Ahh... you stupid fool" the gnome bellows as the fire burns her skin.
Valerian Screams her lungs out, as the air elemental begins ripping apart the tree she is hiding in. The other two make a bee line for Nialio. The first bumps into the poor gnome, whipping her about while the other whips about her as a whirlwind.
Alleah reaches into her bag, and realizes she forgot a tanglefoot bag, but a Thunderstone will do. The stone at Calloran. The sounds is deafening to the gnome and he grasps his ears, as a little blood trickle begins.
Cursing her luck, Shel lies prone.
Bliss shoots a bolt off at Valeryian who is hidden, but apparently not too well since she gets plugged. A grunt is heard, as the bolt plants itself in her.

We will finish this - pleasantly now, as possible, or most unpleasantly if you continue your antics. Calloran, Valyrian, Nialiao: DO YOU STAND DOWN??? Alleah takes little joy that she has deafened Calloran. But that doesn't mean she will let up her assault.
Combat really isn't her thing and this one shows it. Casting True Strike but then realising she didn't have a tanglefoot bag was one thing. Now she has just deafened an opponent and made him immune to a number of her charm spells as a result.
Now isn't the time to reflect on her inadequacies however.
She decides to give Calloran a taste of his own medicine, and casts Blindness on him!

Pressi decided, despite her misgivings, to follow Murphy 's yet another diplomatic attempt.
"My fellows," Pressi began. "The truth is that I am not a witch. I am a monk of Domi, so I only rhyme with that. I am bound to keep fighting for my fellows so long as I stand. But it also means that I am bound to fight for the weak and helpless, like the four of you. Let us sit and talk together, and I will move the heavens to help you.
"But I understand that trust is a fragile thing, so I make one final proposition. I will as a show of faith lower my defenses. I will not attack. I will not defend, nor resist. If you all respond in kind and stand down, I will bind myself to you here and now.
"And if any of you raise a finger to me or my allies, I make a different promise. I will hunt you and fight you until one of us is dead, never stopping, never letting anything get in my way, not even my allies.
"I give you my word."

The air elementals, hearing they will be reprieved following one more task, move like horses who know they are drawing near to their stables. Elemental 1 (E1) streaks to I7, about 5 feet off the ground, and transforms into whirlwind. He flies to I9, slants over to H9 and H10, over to I10, down to I11, I12, turns a sharp corner, running from J12 to J7, and winks out. Half of the food on the table, unfortunately, gets scattered.
E2 descends straight down to ~5 feet above the ground, and, now a whirlwind, clears L6 down to L13, then back at K13, clearing the other side of the table (and kicking up grapes and drinks and fruits and such around Nialiao, and disappearing as it gets to K8. Trill feels wind and bits of vegetation kicking up near her, then the wind pops, and settles down.
E3 (starting at the height of 15', not 45' - it worked its way down from 30' to 15' in the last post), moves over to N12, at 5' height, up to N10, over to run over Bliss at O10, and thoroughly ruffling Mookie's feathers at O9, then back to N9, up to N8, over to M7, down to M12, and poofing away from this plane of existence.
As the winds of a whirlwind generally are moving a fair bit faster than 21 miles per hour, and the whirlwinds are about 20' in height, and the vortex at the bottom of the whirlwind likely sucked up a fair bit of mists from the entangling plants (not to mention perhaps disrupting a fair amount of the entangling power of the plants - but our DM will adjudicate whether that is an effect or not), the only bits of obscuring mist which are likely to remain are at K6 and K7.
Bliss and Mookie may need to make Reflex saving throws - now - the whirlwind is 5' above the ground, so they may not need to save - but as they are tiny, if that distance is near enough to be sucked up, then they may need to hold fast to roots and such.
Still left with obscuring mist? Perhaps K6 and K7.
Kiitos Murphy says just before the elementals conclude their sweeps.
Prone and held fast by the Entangle spell, likely Bliss and Mookie are unaffected by the elemental passing overhead? Considering it passes five feet overhead? However, does it blow away the Obscuring Mist?
Anyway, Bliss sees every reason to keep on keeping on -- he still has one cold iron bolt in this clip! He rolls a miss chance against the Fey with the V name: 45%. Hopefully that is enough. He also rolls an attack, from base +11 a -2 entangled and a -4 into melee for a total +5 ... and hits AC25! Crit Threat! Follow Up is a 7, so no crit.
Hopefully that means normal damage of 1d6+2 = 5 points to Val-whatsit.
His clip empty, Bliss plans to reload next round.
He stays hidden, sniping, in the vines ... Stealth 51.

(OOC: Yes, it does blow away the mist. That's actually the point. Murphy and Pressi (reluctantly) are basically standing down (Murphy is taking away the mist, Pressi is giving the enemies a free shot) in the hopes that the witches will respond by standing down themselves.)
Murphy returns to his halfling form and offers the fey gnomes one last chance for surrender, calling for them to stand down as his companions continue to attack. He directs the elementals to clear the mist, and they do their best before they disappear. There is still a layer of mist on the ground to about 5 feet. (The elementals were about 5’ up, so the food remains.) Bliss and Mookie remain unaffected, concealed in the mist.
Trill is having none of this “surrender now” stuff, and throws an Alchemist's Fire at Petalia, hitting her. (I let it slide earlier, but you cannot fling Alchemist's Fire with a sling.)
Shell threatens death if her vision is not returned.
Alleah deafens Calloran, and takes no joy in this, so she tries to blind him as well. She finds she is entangled where she stands.
Pressi offers peace, suggesting that they sit and talk. She says that trust is fragile, and that she will not attack.
Bliss, however, attacks. He hits Valyrian.
Thistle just stands there.

WHAT ARE THEY SAYING?” He makes his save against the blindness, though he’s not sure what he saved against. He fails to identify where those bolts in the grass are coming from and casts glitterdust harmlessly in the wrong area. Then Calloran vanishes.
Petalia is struck by Alchemist’s Fire and screams as she attempts to put out the flames. She continues to burn.
Calloran’s voice - “WHERE DID THE MIST GO? WHAT’S GOING ON?”
Valyrian sees that his Petalia is on fire and vanishes from where he is to appear near Petalia. “Let her alone - she was only looking for a husband! I am here Petalia, I’m here for you.” He casts a curative spell on her (spell used).
Calloran’s voice - “WHY IS PETALIA ON FIRE?”
Nialio, says, “You sue for peace as you continue to attack. You there,” she gestures to Pressi, ”yes you. We will not attack - we only sought companionship. Defend us.” Then she vanishes.
Calloran’s voice - “NIALIO - WHAT ARE YOU SAYING? I CAN’T HEAR YOU. WHERE DID YOU GO?”

Murphy, 15' up in the tree at E13 (he flew there as an owl in an earlier round), lowers himself down a few branches, and jumps to the ground at G16. He reaches under his coveralls, beneath his shirt, under his back, and opens a little pocket pressed against his skin. He opens it, feels inside, and slides out a small square of tinfoil - 3-1/2"x5-1/2" - at the same time he pulls out a small paring knife adjacent the foil. As he does this, he says, to Trill,
"Likely a bit of a curse, Trill. It should wear off - or perhaps they can reverse it more quickly. Can you break free of the plants yet?"
He smoothes out the foil, then presses the following words into the surface using the back edge of the paring knife:
"PEACE Calloran: You surrender to us We surrender to you. -Murphy"
The druid holds up the piece of foil, waving it in the air, and saying, "This is for Calloran. A peace treaty. Can someone take it to him, so he can read it?"
"And all - friends - as well as gnomes, with whom we still, after this very rough start, hope may become our friends - please, do what you can to help us all be restored to health, and sight, and hearing. I know that the blindness spell and the deafness spell are reversible - you need only cast them properly to remove the condition. And Petalia, I have a wand which can cure your wounds, and those of your companions." He pulls out from his backpack the wand of cure light wounds he bought when they were at Goblin's Rest. "Valyrian - are you injured as well?"
The first four applications of cure light wounds heal 7, 7, 9, and 4 hp.

If anyone looked closely at a suspiciously silent Pressi, they could see her whispering to herself, almost chanting about moving through waterfalls and skies, about carrying the burden, about letting go. A coolness seemed to come over her as she pushed the raised feelings down. Down went her failure in control. Down went the anger at Murphy turning this into a surrender; at herself for maybe hinting at that herself. Down, down went her own loneliness, and her own chaos. It served nobody to let them see that.
Pressi bit back her retort to Shel about how they in fact got her twice and how she would take the blindness over the charms gladly. It would only be whining, undermining my argument, she told herself.
"I mean no disrespect towards your complaining, my dear," she finally replied. "I simply mean that, regardless of who attacked who, your cure may be more forthcoming if we stopped yelling about fairness and actually started talking. And certainly we can cry about this later."
"As for the four of you," she began towards Petalia and Valyrian. "I cannot fully serve you until I know who you are and what has happened, or even what you were talking about earlier. Perhaps if you started from the beginning...."

Shel is understandably angry, and demands that her blindness be removed, and then she might not smite the witches.
Pressi tells everyone to hold fire. She asks Shel to stop whining and stating the obvious, that they are not blind. (Well, except for Shel.) Shel barks back at Pressi, as Pressi tries to calm herself down. The she tells the flying gnomes that she cannot serve them until they tell her what they want, starting from the beginning.
Bliss does not shoot because pity stayed his hand. It was a pity he’d run out of bolts. He reloads.
Trill feels not quite herself - a bit clumsy and less nimble. She suggests she too is affected by one of their spells.
Murphy also tells everyone to stop attacking. Then she douses Petalia with water to put out the remainder of the Alchemist’s Fire on her.
Alleah is also pretty sore about this whole business, doubting the witches sincerity. She asks that they remove their spells, and as a gesture of good faith she removes the remains of the Obscuring Mist the elementals missed. The shroud of mist over Bliss, Mookie, and Thistle disappears.
Kezem tries to determine if these witches are lying. He has no reason to believe that they are.
Thistle plays to his strengths and just stands there, held fast and looking a bit skitterish.

Calloran appears and shouts, “WHAT’S GOING ON? DON’T TALK ABOUT ME WHEN I DON’T KNOW WHAT YOU’RE SAYING. THIS WAS ALL PETALIA’S IDEA.
Petalia gasps as the cold water washes over her, putting out the remaining flames. She is quite the sight. Burnt clothes, half burnt hair sticking out on one side, watered down and sodden.She glares at Calloran. “Oh shut up Calloran.”
Calloran - “WHAT ARE YOU SAYING PETALIA? DON’T TRY TO TELL THEM THIS WAS MY IDEA.”
Then Nialiao appears, looks at Pressi and says, “why Caloran is our leader, but he cannot hear. There’s no need for that little metal note owl-boy. Perhaps if you just restore his hearing we can talk. And I’ll not release that Shel creature until she calms down. She’s pretty mad.”
Valyrian hands Petalia a potion, telling her it will heal her. Petalia drinks it, and then she has a shocked look for a moment, that quickly changes to a calm gaze as she stares at Valyrian, and says, “VALYRIAN! YOU... you...oh you gorgeous hunk of gnome. Come here and give us a kiss.” Valyrian obliges.
Nialiao looks at Valyrian and Petalia and smacks her forehead. Then she yells, “PETALIA. RELEASE THAT ENTANGLE! PETALIA!” Petalia remains locked in an embrace. Nialiao moves over near Petalia and shouts, “PETALIA - THE VINES. TURN OFF THOSE VINES!”
Calloran, speaking much too loudly, “THIS IS ALL PETALIA’S FAULT. HEY, WHY IS PETALIA KISSING VALYRIAN?” xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

"Well, I think that we as a group have learned a valuable lesson," Pressi said to her allies. "We should have just killed them."
"Ok, so as we were saying before our interruptions, greetings," Pressi said to Nialio as she began to climb back down. "And may I say how wonderful a blessing to talk to someone who isn't completely insane for a change. And I am sure we can get Calloran fixed up, as someone who knows nothing about thunderstones. And once again, I wish to apologize for overreacting to your clearly sane romantic overtures."
Pressi paused about halfway down for a bit before slow falling the rest of the way (Climb roll 20, slow fall 20 feet).
"My apologies in advance should I be indelicate about the situation, but my companions and I really didn't expect to meet anyone here at all, let alone a group of people who are lonely and yet don't just leave. Let alone what I may understand to be some sort of love triangle, perhaps? I leave the diplomacy to those that don't have a bugbear's charisma, but I hoped you could at least quench my curiosity."

"Congratulations, Valyrian, on using Petalia's idea to persuade her your direction," Murphy says, with a smile, as he places the tin back in the pouch. "However, Calloran has made a good point."
Murphy smiles up at Calloran, and gives a favorable hand sign - obviously not a spell, just a gesture of approval.
As they are flying, and he is not, it will do no good to try to reach them from the ground. "Nialiao - if you need some healing, I can help you."
He considers dousing the two love struck gnomes to get their attention, but chooses to hold off for a moment. He goes from G16 to H16, and enters the entangled area at I15, making it to the table, and getting up on it. He casts 'purify food and drink' on the items there on, then picks up an apple, and takes a bite.
"So, I'd dispel the entanglement if I had the counter ready, but I don't. Can anyone - gnome or halfling, help Calloran to hear? And Shel to see? And, Trill, to, to... be more nimble again?"

Bliss grinds his teeth in anger at the gnome fairy witches. Mookie finds the situation amusing, and encourages him to relax.
Shel lies there feigning calm. She’s not sure if she’s more mad at Pressi or these gnomes. OK, it’s the gnomes, but Pressi is a close second.
Pressi climbs down out of the tree into the entangling vegetation, lamenting the fact they hadn’t killed these gnomes. She still looks like a bugbear. Then she then asks why they don’t just leave if they’re lonely.
Trill tries to remain calm. Then she admonishes the gnomes.
Alleah remains entangled, and wishes they could tell if these creatures were evil. Then she threatens them, telling them to remove their spells and considers casting one of her own. She tries to tell if they are leading Humble’s Sword astray. Nothing suggests they are not telling the truth. (ooc: I will typically roll your sense motive checks myself. Please just let me know what your adds are in the future. I’m happy to discuss why if you disagree.)
In contrast to most of the rest, Murphy seems truly helpful in his attitude toward these capricious little gnomes. He offers encouragement, healing, and then he cleans up the food and has some.
Kezzem suggest that Humble’s Sword could just leave.

The viridian-hued Calloran knocks his ear with his hand. “IT’S THE RINGING THAT’S REALLY ANNOYING.”
The azure Nialiao turns to half-burnt, scarlet Petalia, and screams “PETALIA - RELEASE THE ENTANGLE! NOW!” Petalia doesn’t take her eyes off Valyrian and ignores Nialiao. Then she and Valyrian withdraw 30’ and both vanish from sight. The Entangle spell does not end.
Calloran looks at the scorched, sodden Petalia - “UGH. VALYRIAN, HOW CAN YOU KISS THAT. WAIT. WHERE ARE THEY GOING? CURSE YOU PETALIA - THIS WAS YOUR STUPID IDEA.”
Nialiao move toward Calloran. She gestures, and Shel’s sight is restored. “There, I’ve done what I can. Can you now restore Calloran’s hearing?”
Calloran - “NIALIAO? ARE WE LEAVING THESE HORRIBLE LITTLE CREATURES?” He looks at the angry, threatening halflings staring at him and swallows. **gulp** Then he vanishes from sight, leaving Nialiao all alone. Murphy is pretty sure he can still poinpoint where Calloran is in the tree.
Calloran’s voice from the tree - “NIALIAO, DO YOU THINK THEY HEARD THAT?”

Seeing that Shel is fine, Pressi turned her attention towards Alleah (move action to G5), resigning herself to the fact that Petalia wasn't coming back for five, maybe ten, minutes. As she moved forward, she assured Nialiao that they were, in fact, working on curing Calloran, as far as Pressi knew. She does attempt again to engage Nialiao (sense motive +7), asking more about this idea of theirs.
"Now, Alleah, I believe the time has come to lower our threats for now. It is within our interests to continue towards peace, and our duty to help those in need even if they attack us, and protocol and all the other stuff I said before..."
Pressi pulled on Alleah, attempting to free her from the entanglement, but failing. (I think it's a strength check, fail at 5. If not, my grapple CMB is 11.) "Plus," she continued, "there's the little matter of how we're trapped in this forest we know nothing about and still need information and supplies. Maybe we won't get either from these gnomes, so if you know of an alternative to go to, please tell us."

"However, I'm a bit of an alchemist, and, if memory serves correctly, Calloran's hearing should start easing back to normal in about an hour. Now, let me go among my friends, and see whether someone might have a quicker solution. Thank you for taking care of my dear friend Shel. Before I check with them, though, may I aid you with my wand of curing?" If she grants that, then he does cure her for 14 points damage, and asks whether she may need more. "Try to let Calloran know I will help him, too."

Shel's vision slowly began to return after the gnome assisted her. "That's better," she grumbled, still not happy with the whole situation. She wasn't quite her chipper self. She stood by, sulking, letting the others figure out how to extricate them from this gnomish encounter.
I think I liked dealing with the dumb Huntsman more than these monsters, she thought as she kicked at a nearby rock.

Bliss and Mookie try to slip away from the Entangling plants, a move action, per the rules. Mookie has a +3 escape artist check, and Bliss has a +10. Mookie rolls a 4, and manages to get himself more trapped, if that's possible! Bliss rolls a 26, and is free.
"HEY!" shouts Mookie, "You bumped me into that tangle!"
Bliss makes a raspberry.
Mookie tries again, and Bliss tries to help him out. Bliss, Aiding Another, rolls a 21. Mookie, now at +5, rolls a 14. Is that enough to beat the original DC?

Murphy responds to Alleah - "Well, both Calloran and Nialiao at least asked Petalia to drop the entanglement. She seems to be, um, rather taken up for the moment from the juice that Valyrian gave her. Let's help our friends who are still stuck to get out of the area. And, if we can help it, Alleah, no more fire for now, if we can help it. I'll go help Bliss in a moment, after I keep my offer to Nialiao."
Murphy quickly says, after Kezzem asks Nialiao to leave, "Calloran is not gone - he's just up in that tree over there. And, Kezzem, let's not chase off Nialiao. If we want to have this whole meeting leave a bad taste in everyone's mouth, then, sure, tell her to scram. But I think, after this bad start, perhaps some better result can be obtained - if we're willing to work at it."
He turns to Nialiao. "Are you willing to work at it? I'd just as soon we be on friendly terms, or at least not look at each other as enemies. We DON'T like how you treated us -trying to trick us, enchant us, bind us, blind us, and such - all in the name of - love? And you DON'T like how we responded - with magic, and alchemy, and weapons, and wind spirits.
"Please - let me heal you," he appeals again to Nialiao. "Let us make sure that all are restored. Including Trill - who seems to be under a curse?"
"No more threats, friends. No more harm. Again, we need to take the time to make sure that all harm that can be reversed is reversed."

Pressi urges Alleah to remain calm, and attempts to free her from her entanglement. She mentions how she needs information about the forest, as well as supplies. She senses no ulterior motives from Nialiao.
Murphy suggests that Calloran’s deafness is temporary, and offers to heal and help the gnomes.
Shel can see again, but she’s still pretty mad.
Alleah escapes the entangling vegetation. She keeps her guard up, and suggests that others do the same. Pressi follows her out of the vegetation, the grasses pulling at their feet as they go.
Bliss rips free of the vegetation, but stays where he is near Mookie. Mookie does not, and accuses Bliss of bumping him. (DC 17 strength check or Escape Artist check to escape.)
Kezzem tells Nialiao to run along.
Trill tells them to wait - she needs to be restored!
Murphy asks that the flying fairy gnomes remain, if only to undo what was done and not leave each other on bad terms.

Calloran reappears. Nialiao motions for Calloran to come over by her, and he does. Calloran says “I DON’T THINK PETALIA’S COMING BACK, DO YOU?” Nialiao shakes her head in response.
She turns her attention back to the group. “We’ll take our leave now. That Entangle spell will eventually wear off. It was Petalia’s, and she’s a bit...occupied.”
Calloran - “WHAT’S THAT ABOUT PETALIA? TELL THEM THIS WAS HER FAULT.”
“It’s kind of you to offer healing, but not necessary. Take what food you want - don’t worry about the dishes, we’ll have this cleaned up later. I wouldn’t linger though. Petalia’s going to be very angry with Valyrian in a couple hours. None of us want’s to be around when that enchantment wears off - not even you.”
Calloran - “THAT’S RIGHT. IT WAS PETALIA.”
“Oh, as for any curse, we can create them but we cannot remove them. So good luck with that. And be careful in these woods. There are lots of bad creatures about.”
Almost as an afterthought, she says, “Pity you lost the chance to be our mates. You all would have been quite happy here with us - at least until we got bored with you. Ta-ta”
And with that, she touches Calloran and they disappear.
What do you do now? You will find that the Entangle spell ends in about 3 minutes.

This place is the pits. And no one eat any of that food! Those gnomes can't be trusted. They might just be invisible waiting to try it again with us."
Shel was stiff a bit huffy, but she was winding down. In another couple minutes, happy go lucky Shel might make a return. Assuming nothing else tried to kill them.

"Well, I cast purify food and drink on the table," he says to Shel, "but the potions are likely still potent. I think we can enjoy the food. At least, I shall do so." He takes a bag, and fills it with a good deal of fruit, and vegetables, if any are present. He eats another apple, waits a few moments for the entangle to dissipate, and hops down.
"You know, Alleah, you got a really good deal on your pony there. Thistle is calm as a mushroom even when chaos dances around her." He scratches his nose. "So, do you want to try that bath on Trill now - or wait until we camp at the end of the day? We might want to get some distance from here, first, then the rest of us can watch. I mean, set a watch, to make certain no one sneaks up on us."
He looks around, seeing if he can sense any more gnomes about (or other watchers) [Perception: 31].
"Unless anyone has a good reason for us to stay here, let's head out," suggests the druid.

Pressi, grumbling at their refusal to say anything useful, slowly began to shrink down to her halfling form (free action). Still, as a matter of saving face, she did continue to insist that their pursuit of friendship was the correct one, even if taking out the healing was a step far even for her.
She could not help at give Murphy a funny look at his slip, but did not otherwise react to it. Nor does she react at all to the antics of Bliss and Mookie (Sense Motive Natural 1) as much as you might think her background would. With a quick scan of the table and the trees to see if anything is left (Perception 19), she began to move off with the group, planning only to stay with them until they got to a town.
"For all our fighting," Pressi began to Alleah, "you really did have some nice moves out there. And Shel.... I like your teeth."

OK, Bath it is though I think we can wait a bit as long as we don't need to do a whole lot of fighting and things. I am not nearly as effective at what I do without being my normal nimble self. As she moves around she will pick up a few of the purified fruits and such storing a few in pouches and pockets as they prepare to leave.

Shel doesn't comment on Pressi's words. She wasn't quite fond of the newcomer yet, that's for sure. Rather than cause a fight, she grunted and moved on, starting to feel better about the day.
OOC: looking at the new characters, they have a lot more gold value in equipment than the 'old timers' do by my count. Have we been missing something? We seem really under geared to me.
