Norr (David S.) HP: 25/25 AC: 18 T: 11 FF: 16 CMB :+6
Thursday February 25th, 2016 3:09:11 PM

Norr thanks the constables as they take their prisoners away. Then he follows Stohp to the Giggling Ghost, seeing that their mission is finished.

Martisan Odenthorp (Damarr) HP: 15/15 | AC: 18 | T:14 | FF:15
Thursday February 25th, 2016 7:30:11 PM

Although she tends to intuit others' motivations fairly quickly, Martisan herself is little better than her carefully organized journal - easier to read for those with the mind for it than even a simple children's book. She nods warily at Belba's offer.

Martisan's noticeable avoidance of the water's edge, and the large turtles in particular, gives away the less experienced Halfling's trepidation. "50 gold sounds good to me; our best bet before shipping them off the Float was drowning the little beasties. Glad to hear you have a use for 'em, though I'd hate to see the fish snapping up rats for bait."

Martisan will make the arrangements with the Turtlemistress if she can, otherwise waiting to handle the logistics after she explains the deal to the others at the Giggling Ghost. As they reconvene, Martisan expresses her eagerness to track down the necessary lease documents (two copies of the property deed), and suggests they now pool their respectable resources toward this end.

Zanderallen (Zachary H) HP: 23/23 AC: 19 T: 11 FF: 18
Thursday February 25th, 2016 9:48:14 PM

After finishing with the guard Zanderallen makes sure to retrieve Martisan's manacles and the rope of whoever tied up the prisoners before heading to his home to offer a prayer of thanks for his rescue. He will head to the meeting place so as to arrive in plenty of time to get to know his new friends better. He may not agree with all their ideas but they seem a good courageous group and he is eager to see what good they can do in the world. When the others arrive he will return their gear to them. He is agree-able to the idea of registering the group and setting up the warehouse as a base of operations.

Micah (John) HP: 16/16 AC: 17/10/17
Thursday February 25th, 2016 10:06:14 PM

Micah grins at Pesmer's enthusiasm to get to the guild as he replies, "It would delight me to go back to the top level with you, but the others will wonder what happened to us, especially with us carrying these valuable items. Let us go to them now. Perhaps all of us together can come up with a name during tonight's party and we can return tomorrow."

"Hmmm," he mutters to himself, "Domi's Hammer?...too religious for all of us....Fence Defenders?...not sure about that one either...Ah, well, our name will have to come from someone with more wit than I have." He shakes his head, then returns his attention to his companion and his surroundings.

Into the Warehouse (DM Cayzle) Victory! Aftermath Exra  d20+19=34 ;
Friday February 26th, 2016 7:31:23 AM

Stohp, Zanderallen, and Norr head back to the Giggling Ghost after relinquishing the two prisoners to the constables.

Martisan sells the rats to the Turtlemistress, and spends some time carrying rats in cages from the warehouse to the docks. Luckily it is not far and maybe she has some help? She also finds one copy of the deed to the warehouse. Evidently the property belongs to one Lord Peerimon, officially. The lease is for 1,000 gp per year. Is that a lot or a little for "land" in the Float? Dunno ...

Pesmer and Micah find the Star Mages Guildhouse on the open air (top) level of the Big Float, in the Ziggurat of Prosperity found near the Temple of Domi. They learn how to apply for membership if they so desire. There, they also find an apprentice willing to ID the rapier for 10 gp -- the spellcraft roll is a 34, and it turns out to be a +2 rapier.

All end up back in the Giggling Ghost, and they find that Happy will be back soon.

Pesmer Zerase (Ryan W.) HP: 14/14 AC:12/12/10  d20+8=11 ;
Friday February 26th, 2016 9:05:46 AM

Pesmer somehow convinces Micah to go with him to the Star Mages Guild House, passing by the Temple of Domi as he smiles to his friend. "Nice building you have there. Domi is alright in my book."

Pesmer hands over the 10 Gold pieces to have the apprentice ID the rapier, his eyes sparkling at the thought of having such a powerful magical weapon in the groups possession. He will pay the apprentice another 10 gold to identify the hairclip that Eleazar was wearing seeing how as it was magical as well.

Pesmer does an appraise check on the Rat library they had acquired, ( 11 Appraise check) to see if he knew how much it might be worth and asks the apprentice how much gold he would give for such a collection. If the Star Mages guild is interested in buying it, and for how much, he would check with Micah to see if it was a good price before selling it off.

Pesmer also applies for membership for the Star Mages guild. Having spent 20 of his gold just to get the items identified, he hopes he can get a good price for the rat books in order to help pay for the Tier 0 or possibly even the Tier 1 ranking.

Agrippa (Jacob) HP: 14/15 AC: 16.(t)13.(ff)13
Friday February 26th, 2016 5:05:54 PM

Agrippa will return to the Giggling Ghost from turning in the silver weapons back to Brassy. Sitting down with the group and hearing about their independent exploits after turning in the prisoners, she will suggest that the cost for identifying the items should come from the horde and not Pesmer's pockets.

"I kinda like runnin' the numbers when it comes to buyin' and sellin' so..." Agrippa gets out her merchant scale with the Ffloy emblem, and begins her, "Summary of the horde... with commentary"

good (Masterwork) [heavy]wood shield x2 [160 gp ea] "Normally, Heavy Wooden shiel's 're worth 7g, so these are especially nice-lookin' shields, eh?"
rat books [??? gp]
caged rats [50 gp] "If I knew cages full o' rats were worth a years pay at the Ghost, I'd a changed professions lon' ago~"
good (Masterwork) sap [310 gp] "I migh' want that..."
personal stuff -- jewelry (rattish) - clothes - knives - candlesticks - etc [400 gp total] "Believe it or not, merchants love jewelry with an aesthetic, like 'rattish'. They'll still buy. Although, I think 20g should come from this pot for identifyin' those items. Wha'ch'y'all think?"
+2 Rapier [8320 gp]
+2 Ring of Protection [8000 gp]
Hairclip [TBD]

Total (at the moment): [17,400 hard gp, or 8,700 market gp] (potentially - 20g for identifying)

"Sellin' gives you half it's value, so it's better to claim, righ'? Or... shoul' we sell maybe one o' the heavy magic items to distribute the wealth a bit..? Agrippa leaves the question open ended.

"I also had an idea that came to me when I was talkin' to Jaspar a few days ago, abou' the possible name o' the group. How about the Bud Nippers?" Agrippa can already hear the crickets in her head.

Zanderallen (Zachary H) HP: 23/23 AC: 19 T: 11 FF: 18 Party Treasury
Friday February 26th, 2016 7:31:20 PM

Zanderallen can't help but enjoy listening to Agrippa's street cant. Reminds him of a time long past.
"I agree with the cost of identifying the items should come out of the horde, as Agrippa calls it. All the magic items look to be of good use to members of this company. I say we use them. If adventuring continues to be this lucrative we'll soon make up any differences in shares."

OOC: Putting two long links in the post header tends to break the board. The best solution is to use a URL shortener, like bit.ly

Zanderallen (Zachary H) HP: 23/23 AC: 19 T: 11 FF: 18 Party Treasury
Sunday February 28th, 2016 9:24:10 AM

Zanderallen suggests the group name could include "Silver" since their first mission was against wererats. "If you leave the voting up to Micah and I we'll just start calling ourselves the Silver Hammer,", Zanderallen says with a chuckle, "but you could change hammer to anything we all like."

[OOC] (I apologize if I broke anything. In my zeal I think I may have left out an important bracket. links are shortened and hopefully properly contained.)

Cayzle Comments: Fixed Header on prior post, NP.

Martisan Odenthorp (Damarr) HP: 15/15 | AC: 18 | T:14 | FF:15
Sunday February 28th, 2016 7:22:19 PM

Martisan thanks Zanderallen for returning her manacles, which she promptly loops through her belt, cuffs hanging by the short chain.

"We should probably keep working from the Calf, here, until we get the lease sorted out and the warehouse cleaned up." She notes after showing the others the deed she found and reiterating the signing process and 1000gp payment. It's clear she's happy that one of her new companions also has an interest in using the abandoned warehouse.

"What about The Silver Pickets?" She ventures while they wait for Happy, looking hopefully to the others. "Seeing as we all first met here on the Fence. it's got some of the same light-heartedness as The Bud Nippers, eh?" She gives Agrippa a wink.

"I actually think it's best if you take the rapier, Agrippa - if you have any interest in using it. It's sized wrong for myself or the Minotaurs, and the two devout of Domi seem to have a preference for heavier weapons. Check me if I'm wrong, but you look like you've got the skill to handle such a fine weapon properly - I'd bet our recently-acquired horde on it being put to better use in your hands than any of ours."

She turns to Pesmer with a smile, "No offense, of course - you certainly did a number on Rooger with that staff of yours!

[OOC: I added the Deed to Eleazar's Warehouse to Martisan's equipment, if you want to add it to the treasury. Also made a couple notes there for some simple updates.]

Micah (John) HP: 16/16 AC: 17/10/17
Sunday February 28th, 2016 9:35:00 PM

Micah nods in agreement as Martisan suggests Agrippa takes the rapier and he supports the identification fees to be a group expense.

"I like Silver Pickets or what about The Silver Guard? A fence is a guard, but it is a much more subtle play on fence. Perhaps too subtle."

To Agrippa he adds [b]"I do like Bud Nippers, too. I am finding I have not much of a preference. Regarding the matter of the items, I think you should take the rapier. Of all of us, you would put it to best use and that would benefit all of us."

Stohp (Mitch) HP: 18/18 AC: 13/12/10 CMB: +4
Monday February 29th, 2016 12:29:12 AM

Stohp joins the group discussion. "Honestly I have no idea what Bud Nippers even means. I like the Silver Guard or Hammer though, it sounds more... noble."

Norr (David S.) HP: 25/25 AC: 18 T: 11 FF: 16 CMB :+6
Monday February 29th, 2016 10:20:10 AM

"Names aren't what's important; I'm fine with anything if it's pronounceable. As for the items, keep the useful ones and sell the cages along with the other goods." Norr says in between feasting.

Agrippa (Jacob) HP: 14/15 AC: 16.(t)13.(ff)13
Monday February 29th, 2016 3:51:11 PM

Upon hearing the suggestion that Agrippa keep the sword, she will flatten her nose. "From wha' I heard about the rapier, it's enchanted to seek ou' vitals and penetrate armor easily. But..." She gets a bit embarassed to say, "Well, most of y'all know how quickly the rats ate into me. Every fight, I'm in need of Domi's hands and prayers to be well again. I'd rather do this-" and she'll take out an abacus.

"If we sell this sword and split the profit, roughly (if by 7) 600 gold, everyone 'ere can get themselves a well-made weapon, or... or uhh..." Looking at Pesmer, eyes searching. "...a quill, an' find the vitals withou' fearin' their weapons 'll break [/b](ooc: Masterwork). The engagements we've had has taught me tha' these leather straps on me restrict my movements too much an' make noise. I'd rather have my capabilities, and my party's bolstered than have a sword tha' does the stabbin' for me, is wha' I'm sayin'~." She looks down at the sword again.

"In all my time savin' money, up till now, I've earned like... 200 gold. An' you all know wha' you're all capable of with what you've earned. If we triple that by sellin' this sword, instead o' puttin' all our investment in me- I mean; Micah knows I've been bitten a lot. See them scars?" She puts a leg on her chair and reveals her calves and ankles. "This sword... with no offense... woul' jus' make me ambitious, an' look nice in my hands as you guys bury me six feet deep." She'll put her foot down... literally.

Micah (John) HP: 16/16 AC: 17/10/17
Monday February 29th, 2016 8:43:44 PM

Micah looks at Agrippa and says, "Domi's healing will be here for you as long as we strive side by side and I am able to be his conduit."

After a brief pause he adds, "Given your agility I thought such a weapon would be of your choosing. I can understand your reluctance to get into a fight, but you are the one, given your skills, who is often exposed to danger and a fight is unavoidable. Such a weapon would give you an edge."--Micah grins shamelessly at the pun then continues-- "until the rest of us can come to your aid. Nevertheless, assuming no one else can put such a powerfully enchanted weapon to good use, I would not object to liquidating it for other equipment."

Martisan Odenthorp (Damarr) HP: 15/15 | AC: 18 | T:14 | FF:15  d6=2 ;
Monday February 29th, 2016 8:58:32 PM

Martisan shakes her head at Agrippa's denial of the sword. "Though it leads some fools to an untimely end, ambition also separates the victors from the vanquished." She eyes the Half-Orc, less concerned with the fate of the sword than that of their group, given Agrippa's apparent trepidation.

"As we've seen, the livelihoods we maintained before pale in comparison to the gains now possible through our enterprising little band. As Zanderallen noted, there'll be opportunity to grant everyone a fair share. Let's see what Happy has for us for sorting out this rat business, and then decide if we need to sell the rapier to split a larger pot. Micah, I assume you'll be taking one of those shields for yourself?"

"Hammer is too blunt, for the name." Martisan says, turning to Stohp, "I'd rather not call ourselves a tool with only one answer to every problem." She gives the friendly craftswoman a wink, meaning no offense. "Silver Guard I like, if it's not been registered already."

"You know, Pesmer, I was thinking about that Star Mages Guild of yours. I actually heard one other name when I was asking around that caught my interest; the Sages Guild. I don't know if they have any chapters about here, but it seems to me like these Guilds would need folks all about to find magic items for them to study, so I was thinking I'll apply for something like that to maybe get my foot in the door. I'm sure after a bit of your tutelage I'll have no trouble with the entrance exams, if you'll still teach me a bit, that is." She looks to the wizard with a hopeful gleam in here eyes.

Tuesday March 1st, 2016 12:35:27 AM

"Keep the blade." Stohp advises. "The extra income from selling it would not be as effective scattered among our large group compared to the benefit of keeping it. I would like to request the sap we found though, I prefer non-lethal means of defeating opponents."

Into the Warehouse (DM Cayzle) Victory! Aftermath Exra  d20=13 ;
Tuesday March 1st, 2016 9:43:13 AM

There are errands, and then gathering at the Fatted Calf.

Pesmer finds that the hairclip / headband / hat / bow ... it can change shape on command ... is a Hat of Disguise.

The Star Mage front desk clerk does not think much of the rat books. He looks up from his own tome of arcane lore and suggests selling them to a druid or to the Sages' Guild. The former can be found in the Parklands of the Open Air Level and the latter, across from The Sabertooth Lounge on Platinum Pass. -- later, this info is interesting to Martisan.

The clerk tells him that applications are open once a month on the Day of the Hawk, which was four days ago, so you have another 16 days before the application day. Until then, you are welcome to come here to study, but you cannot borrow materials or take them from the Star Mage HQ here.

Agrippa goes on her errand to return the silver weapons. Brassy seems a little surprised to find that not only were the weapons used, but that the entire party survived. "Huh," he says. "Didn't take you all for survivors. But good on ya, then! Now bring these back to Harry Haight and get me back my chit. Tell him I'll buy him a round when next he stops in, but I'm not erasing his tab since you are bringing all these back."

He also comments that he supposes another meeting at the Ghost is in order. He'll wait for Happy's invite.

The DM assumes Agrippa gives the weapons back at Haight's Mercantile and delivers Brassy's message.

Agrippa also helps tally the loot and think of a group name.

Zanderallen is also interested in a fair distribution -- not necessarily equal, but fair. He suggests the group name include "silver."

Martisan has some ideas on the name, and reminds the group about the deed to the warehouse. Which is big enough for Taurs, sure.

She and Micah think the rapier should go to Agrippa. It is an interesting question ... should an item worth, say, a third of the loot go to one person? Because if you sell it and split the proceeds, the return you get is only half the true value. [OOC: Personally, your DM does not mind either way, in the long haul, the wealth balances out among everybody.]

Stohp and Norr comment on the names and loot, but seem mostly laid back.

As the group discusses names and loot, a messenger arrives from the Giggling Ghost. Happy requests that you all come by tomorrow to meet with the local business leaders again to report on everything that has happened.

Stohp (Mitch) HP: 18/18 AC: 13/12/10 CMB: +4
Tuesday March 1st, 2016 2:26:28 PM

Stohp looks extremely interested in the Hat upon hearing what it is. "Disguise? Let me see." After figuring out how to work it, she starts toying with it, changing into various looks from a down-trodden worker to a guard captain. After appearing as an ogre for a few moments and scaring a servant she takes off the hat.

"I think I could put this to good use if no one else objects to me having it."

Tuesday March 1st, 2016 9:19:09 PM

Micah lifts his mug in salute to Stohp's antics with a warm smile. It is good to have survived and to have done a good service and to not be doing so alone.

When the messenger arrives he becomes contemplative. Is there more to do, he thinks to himself, or is this a call to disband? With a shrug he puts the question aside to enjoy the camaraderie of his companions.

Zanderallen (Zachary H) HP: 23/23 AC: 19 T: 11 FF: 18 Party Treasury
Tuesday March 1st, 2016 11:15:11 PM

Maybe it's the full belly and drink, but Zanderallen can't help but smile at Stoph's antics. Despite their different ideas on how things should be done maybe this minotaur isn't so bad.

"Take the hat. You seem to be enjoying it twice as much as any of us, just try not to scare any more of the waiters. They haven't stopped serving yet.", Zanderallen jokes with a wink.

He wonders what his future holds with this new band, content to wait and see what the business leaders have to say in the morning.

Agrippa (Jacob) HP: 14/15 AC: 16.(t)13.(ff)13
Tuesday March 1st, 2016 11:35:52 PM

Agrippa hears his companions out and will reluctantly accept the sword. Her hand shakes as such wealth touches her fingertips, and with the party claiming it to be hers, she gets nervous at wearing the worth of a building on her hip. It's balanced nicely, and fits right in her strap where her short sword went (until just now).

Upon hearing that there's more to the adventure calling tomorrow morn, she orders some garlic 'taters, garlic lamb, and garlic wine (spending 5s).

On the subject of the group name, "Hmm... Silver tarnishes though... What's a name that flourishes, both economically, and coreographically? ...or maybe the Silver Flourish?" She shakes her head. "Too many syllables..."

Pesmer Zerase (Ryan W.) HP: 14/14 AC:12/12/10
Wednesday March 2nd, 2016 12:18:32 AM

Smirking a little, he nods and raises a glass to having the party keep the good equipment and selling the rest that isn't needed. "That works for me. Rapier looks good on you, Agrippa."

Turning to Martisan, he nods to her request, chuckling lightly as he passes her off the collection of rat noted books. "I can train you a bit in the arts, sure enough. I was told we could sell these books to the Sage's Guild, funny enough. I give them to you to try and sell them to this group you wish to join." Pesmer will tell Martisan the directions to the Sage's Guild.

Pesmer is sad that he cannot join the Star Mages guild right away, now writing in his books the date at which he is allowed to send in an application.

(DM.. I humbly ask you for help in remembering that the application process is in 16 days in game. That can be a very long time from now and I am sure I will forget the exact date. If you could give me a friendly reminder on that date, I would be forever grateful. ^.^ )

Speaking up about the party deciding the gold of identifying the items should come from party treasure, Pesmer nods to this idea. "Sounds good to me. I spent 20 gold getting help identifying these items. No rush to get that gold back so whenever we have the funds and all that." He smiles.

"What about.. The Silver Shrouds? The Silver Hand? Ooh.. The Silver Seven!" Pesmer was having a lot of fun coming up with names with the rest of the group.

Nodding to the messenger about tomorrows meeting and them joining it, Pesmer looks forward to seeing what all the leaders have to say.

Stohp tries out and delights in the Hat of Disguise. She even tries on an Ogre disguise, which amuses Micah!

Zanderallen urges her to keep it.

Meanwhile, Agrippa admires her own new magic item. She adds to the conversation about a name.

Pesmer urges Martisan to take the rat books and sell them to the sages.

Norr is quiet.

=====

There is another message that arrives, this one written roughly on parchment, delivered by one of Grokk Greatbelly's serving girls, a minotaur named Sallie. She hands it to you and then steps back and listens.

Dear Agrippa and new freinds. I hear you turned Rooger over to the cops. I think the Fence is no place for folk like me now. Plus I got my girls to get back ta. If you ever want to look me up, leave word for me at the Vampire's Daughter on Hook Street. -- Jaspar

Evidently, news about ratfolk criminals has scared the fellow off.

Micah, looks at Martisan, suspecting that she would be one to tell the tale.

Why waiting for her, or someone else to answer the request, he things back on the shield he obtained from the confiscated equipment. The woodwork is something he could never achieve, and the iron reinforcing and banding is of true craftsmanship. He can wield it much more smoothly than a typically made shield. Perhaps once the group agrees upon a name, he might blazon it with their emblem.

OOC: Rather than bog down the game, and rather than put one of my excellent players under deadline pressure, let's assume you tell the tale, and either Stohp (in character) or Mitch (out of character) can spin the tale for the wiki. And Zanderallen / Zachary if you are inspired. But for right now, Is there anything you want to keep secret from your sponsors? Do you tell about the secret back door to the warehouse? Do you reveal the alchemist's personal family details? OR Anything you want to emphasize?

The business owners are pleased with your story (And Pearl oohs and ahs at Pesmer's special effects).

Happy steps forward. "We think you all have real potential. We want you to have roots on the Fence Level, and to be part of the community. So we have made inquiries. There is no impediment to your assuming the lease on the warehouse, and we are pleased to smooth over the paperwork AND the first year rent of 1,000 gp."

Listening intently as the others relate the group's origins and first steps toward adventure, Martisan jumps in as the story nears her own entrance, literally vaulting over the back of her chair to land amidst the others in a shower of Pesmer-produced sparks (Acrobatics 13).

"Our clever sneak - the charming Agrippa - convinced the wary and dangerous-looking Jasper (some of you might've met or seen him with us, ratty fellow), to give us an edge on Eleazar's band of miscreants. The diplomatic decision earned us an unexpected ally, and truly proved the right tactic. Armed with Jaspar's inside information, we stormed the criminals' hideout only to find a noble captive in the vermins' cluthes! Freeing himself, Zander the Brave charged right into the enemy's jaws (clad in little more than his nightclothes!) alongside our own Pious Micah, light of Domi held high, shining from the priest's hammer." Martisan looks around to the others in the group as she speaks, leaving space for interjections and exclamations, before continuing in her small, excited voice.

"After dealing with the sleeping guard in the foyer (given a wake-up call as only Agrippa can manage), we found Eleazar and Rooger waiting for us in the back. It was a tense moment as our fighters squared off against theirs, but a timely spell from Pesmer knocked Eleazar and most of his rat allies down a couple pegs. Rooger retaliated with a vicious bite to Pesmer's neck that scared us all, but a flurry of blows, ending with a resounding hit from the wizard's own staff, quickly subdued the violent rat-man. The kind nature of a few again won the final victory, as Stohp captured the besieged rat-man to see proper justice before our impatient vengeance could bear fruit." (Perform: Oratory 26)

"After detaining those two, and searching out the warehouse, we took care of a few small errands, handed the thugs over to the authorities, and made our way back here." She smiles broadly at Happy and the others.

Martisan specifically does not detail anything regarding the warehouse itself. The secret back door she hopes to keep that way, and the building's "defenses" (layout) are something she also does not wish to share in mixed company, where she does not personally know each listener. The spoils they found in the warehouse she won't detail unless asked, going into as little detail as necessary to answer the questions.

[OOC: I'm fine with whoever wants to write a summary for our Woldipedia page - referencing the archives for accuracy is a good idea. Feel free to use portions or all of this in said summary]

Although hard to imagine, Martisan becomes even more animated when Happy describes the business leaders' wish to base the group on the Fence. "Oh! that would be wonderful!" She exclaims loudly, running back to her pack to fish out the copy of the deed she found, which she hurriedly presents to Happy. Holding the document, she turns sheepishly to the others before continuing with obvious restraint, "I mean, that sounds like a fair reward. I imagine there's plenty more we can do on the Fence, too, so it's almost as much an investment for you all." She winks at Belba, comfortably distant from the water's edge, ready to bargain with the business owners should the opportunity present itself.

Micah (John) HP: 16/16 AC: 17/10/17
Thursday March 3rd, 2016 9:18:58 PM

Micah revels in the tales (and special effects) of his colleagues. Being described as pious seems to be a bit of a stretch, but he accepts the artistic license.

He will not add any details or embellishment and finds himself a bit taken aback at their being in possession of their own headquarters.

When he hears of the arrangements for the warehouse, he smiles as he thinks of what improvements Stohp is probably already planning.

Regarding Jaspar he will later speak of him with the others. Perhaps sometime soon they can try to check in on him.

Stohp (Mitch) HP: 18/18 AC: 15/12/12 CMB: +5
Thursday March 3rd, 2016 11:20:27 PM

Stohp tells the tell in detail, explaining all of the events that have happened over the last few days. Martisan's interruption makes her frown in annoyance, especially at the descriptions of the ratmen.
"Despite my companions... enthusiastic description of our foes, I feel that the ramen should not bear the brunt of the blame for this. They're position in the float is to precarious to deny offer of steady employment; that their employer turned out to be a madman out to attack anyone and everyone was no fault of theirs."

She also explains, as best she can, why two of their party members have seemingly vanished and suggests that their portion of the reward go to Martisan, for her help, and Zanderallen, both for his help and as compensation for the treatment he endured after taking up the investigation on his own initiative.

Zanderallen (Zachary H) HP: 23/23 AC: 19 T: 11 FF: 18 Party Treasury
Friday March 4th, 2016 12:00:56 AM

Zanderallen enjoys Martisan's telling of the tale. He interjects after he is mentioned, "Now, now I had time to grab my sword. That's all I really needed."

Addressing the assembled fence merchants, "Your offer is really too kind. Having a stronghold here in the Fence would be advantageous to us, and to you as well. So maybe your offer is for the benefit of all of us. We'll just have some cleaning to do."

Zanderallen doesn't add any additional details about the warehouse. Nothing wrong with having a few secrets in your stronghold.

Pesmer Zerase (Ryan W.) HP: 14/14 AC:12/12/10
Friday March 4th, 2016 4:24:54 AM

Nodding a little, Pesmer will continue his lazer (lazer instead of laser all the way) light show until those who are telling the story finish up.

"I think I will have a rather nasty looking scar from Rooger for awhile.. A badge of honor in a very exhilarating encounter." He lightly rubs his still tender bite mark. The wound was healed for the most part but the memory of fangs in flesh would last for months if not years.. Or at least until something bigger bites Pesmer.

"Thank you so much for this kind offer. Do you have any more work for us?"

Agrippa (Jacob) HP: 14/15 AC: 16.(t)13.(ff)13
Friday March 4th, 2016 5:32:18 AM

Agrippa is visibly shocked! Her jaw drops at the mention of the fee being... as she says, 'smooth over'. "To waive a 1,000g rent.. a small fortune tha' could turn a hamlet into a thrivin' trade city, we are truly thankful." She will stand from her seat to give a short bow and gesture to the business owners and to Happy.

Agrippa is content to hear her parts in the story, as the party reminisces.

Into the Warehouse (DM Cayzle) Victory! Aftermath Extra
Saturday March 5th, 2016 9:58:28 AM

Martisan steps in to tell the tale. And does a fine job, from the time she met the party.

Belba wants to know how you found this Jaspar fellow, who gave you so much information. And how did Martisan join the group? How did their paths cross?

Brassy wants to know why this Eleazar fellow had it in for himself and his fellow business owners.

Happy wants you to estimate the risk of further threat from Eleazar, his rats, or his allies.

Zanderallen mentions the reward. Happy frowns. He says that the 1,000 gp rent fee is the group's primary reward. They do have two more -- each month you get vouchers to eat at The Giggling Ghost, the The Fatted Calf, and The Brass Toad Tavern. So your meals are al settled. And
You express your appreciation for the warehouse rent. And Harry Haight here is pleased to offer you a 10% discount on anything in his shop. "A silver back for each gold you spend," he says proudly.

Pesmer asks for more work -- and Happy laughs. "Sure there is plenty to do, but no emergencies! You should take a bit of a rest, get your new place in order, and we'll be in touch."

The business leaders all stand to shake your hands.

Sunday March 6th, 2016 4:35:35 PM

Although she recognizes them by reputation (K:Local 20), Martisan introduces herself to the business leaders she hadn't previously met. "Name's Martisan," she says with a quick curtsy, one small knee nearly scraping the floor of the inn. She shakes each leader's hand in turn. "I actually met these other fine folks about the same time they ran into Jaspar. I tracked the group through the sewers after speaking with the boy that was bit by a rat off Lakeview Passage, having followed the trail of the rat that bit him. No big deal squeezing through the small openings m'self, and I'm not opposed to getting my feet dirty." She shrugs, smiling and tapping one bare, furry foot against the ground. Martisan again glances to the others before continuing.

"Jaspar was guarding a little back entrance to the warehouse - I imagine that's how Eleazar and his rats were able to get about through the sewers. Eleazar himself seems like a bit of a fanatic, but Jaspar is good-natured and not likely to cause trouble. Rooger I'm not sure about, but the rats were taken care of, as Turtlemistress Belba can attest. As for why Eleazar was so disgruntled, that I'm not real clear on myself."

[OOC: Minor discrepancy - I had previously said Martisan was wearing boots; but she's actually barefoot like most Halflings.]

Pesmer Zerase (Ryan W.) HP: 14/14 AC:12/12/10
Sunday March 6th, 2016 7:08:07 PM

Pesmer will leave the details of their adventures and its tellings to Martisan and to anyone else who wishes to tell the story.
"That is most kind of you to offer both reward and discount. A bit of rest sounds nice, actually."

Pesmer stands to shake hands with the business leaders, him actually feeling like he made a change in the community in a real, positive way.

Zanderallen (Zachary H) HP: 23/23 AC: 19 T: 11 FF: 18 Party Treasury
Sunday March 6th, 2016 9:57:51 PM

"You sure know how to make a warrior grateful. An army marches on it's stomach and warriors of Domi are no exception. That is a most generous and well thought out reward. I assure you I'll be sticking around the Fence to help in any way I can.", Zanderallen rises and warmly shakes hands with the merchants, introducing himself and explaining his presence if no one else has.

Micah (John) HP: 16/16 AC: 17/10/17
Sunday March 6th, 2016 10:39:01 PM

Micah is relieved when the meeting is over. A bit overwhelmed by the generosity and the courtesy of the business leaders, he is satisfied that his group was able to put to rest this immediate danger.

He shakes each offered hand firmly and warmly then excuses himself for some quiet and rest.

Later on he will communicate with the others to discuss their plans for the new headquarters.

Stohp (Mitch) HP: 18/18 AC: 15/12/12 CMB: +5
Monday March 7th, 2016 1:20:59 AM

Stohp smiles politely and thanks the businessmen with the rest of the group, but internally she's doing a little math. She remembers the initial offer of 250g per person, and with 7 of them the merchants just saved 750 gold with their "generous" offer. The cynical and suspicious part of her suspects the merchants made the same calculation before offering the warehouse, but perhaps she was being too paranoid. Best to wait and see how the group is treated over time; as allies and friends to be helped and supported, or as tools to be used when needed and ignored otherwise.

Norr (David S.) HP: 25/25 AC: 18 T: 11 FF: 16 CMB :+6
Monday March 7th, 2016 12:51:39 PM

Norr rises and greets the business owners, adding "Glad to be of service. "
He then returns to the rest of the group and their plan preparations.

Micah (John) HP: 16/16 AC: 17/10/17
Monday March 7th, 2016 10:07:42 PM

During a lull in the meeting Micah thinks about how quickly things have changed for him. Not too long ago he was a simple craftsman and after that a priest.

He knew he was called to serve, but never imagined it would be directly in the protection of his own community, nor did he expect to thrown into such a close companionship so quickly with such a diverse group; a group comprised of people, with the possible exception of Zanderallen, he would not have thought he might call brother and sister and ally.

Stohp (Mitch) HP: 18/18 AC: 15/12/12 CMB: +5
Monday March 7th, 2016 10:11:34 PM

As Stohp waits impatiently for the meeting to end, she wonders where her sister has gotten off to. According to Happy an urgent message came while they where crawling in the sewers yesterday and she ran off; hopefully nothing bad has happened.
