well there's a party going on right here....

Carver: Ciyradyl nods solemnly. I have an aunt, when I was young she would give me gifts, things I needed but could not afford, after the gift though, she thought that she owned me and became offended if I did not devote all of my time to her. it gave me a lot of stress for a long time, not to mention I was exhausted dealing with her demands and my personal goals at the same time. Eventually it all came to a head, I told her she could have her gift back and to leave me alone. things changed after that. she became contrite and apologized for doing that to me. I guess the best advice I can give you is to set forth that you appreciate what was done, but cannot accept the gift if it incurs a debt. A gift is given for respect, admiration and love. Anything else is a bribe.

Owen takes off like a shot after Osul looking for some aerial hyjinx. But Osul, while kind of in a playful mood is unused to the strength of the wildshape spell this close to the tree and does not trust himself to play, he instead drops the largest water bomb ever seen in the tree of parting. with distance, gravity and all the other factors of such things the water bomb becomes a finely divided mist by the time it reaches the lowermost branches.

Armand finishes his house plans and turns to show them to Owen but finds him gone, he looks around confused for a moment, till a small rain shower mists over him, he can guess where Owen is now. he then retires to his room at the "Tripe T" to refresh himself. Owen shows up a few minutes later.

The 15ft width of the dining room will be a bit tight for the centaur and a table, unless you remove the wall closing it off form the cistern, the he would have the whole area between the table and the cistern to maneuver in. Wimic's are a bit more flexable, but the extra room would still benefit her as well.

As folk start gravitating toward the The Tree Top Tavern, so to do the denizens of the Tree itself, many stopping by their dwellings to pick up a dish or other things to bring to the party. A surprising number carry musical instruments. Laughingwater pulls out a bow and fiddle and strikes up a happy tune, while Ciyradyl goes over to a corner and uncovers an instrument you didn't even know was there. The Hammered Dulcimer she plays adds a nice counterpoint to the whine of the violin. others join in and some even begin to dance a jig. the party is starting, and it looks like it's going to be a good one!

As the party gets into gear, Carver will open up a package and carefully unwrap a violin that looks old and extremely well crafted. He walks over and listens for the right point and then joins in. He keeps a large mug of wine handy and drinks from it liberally and often, enjoying himself.
He'll leave the discussion about the gift of a home for the morning, now it's time to enjoy the night.

Perform Violin 12

I am tempted to join in in the music playing, but just don't feel like mine would fit in well. I instead just sit back, and enjoy.

"Carver I believe that point was brought up several times to council man Diamonddew. He agrees that there should be no strings attached and wants to more insure our continued presence in the neighborhood of the tree as it seems to be improving the trade routes. And if he tries to pull anything we can just move out."

Armand notes the changes in the floor plan to the dining room and what will be the meeting room. He then goes out to the party.

The boisterousness of the tavern is unusual for Armand. Needless to say clerics of Gargul are not often invited to such happy occasions and jocularity. He resolves to try and enjoy himself and sits down to listen to the music.

Leskni (Paul Jackson) AC: 15/14/11; HP 35/35; CMD: 16 Character Sheet  d20+6=20 ; d3=3 ; d20+6=20 ;

The place is really too big for a fulll sized liontaur so Leskni will reduce her size to medium, also offering to reduce Carver if he so chooses. Leskni will then definitely join in the merriment, singing and dancing (getting a 20 on both :-). Apparently she is riding high on things tonight).

Owen Marcellus (Weston W.) AC: 12/12/10; HP: 26/26; CMD: 15
Saturday April 9th, 2016 12:10:28 AM

Owen listens to the music and watches the dancing, but doesn't join in. The jovial atmosphere reminds him of harvest celebrations back home, and as glad as he was to reunite Faelyn and Eleanor it remains a hard reminder of his own absence.

Owen is glad to see the others enjoying themselves, but he's feeling a bit melancholic tonight.

Saturday April 9th, 2016 1:12:07 AM

'Osul hasn't seen anything quite like this before, and does attempt to join in on the singin' an' dancin' {Single check, Perform (untrained): 10}. Still, there is plenty of talkin' an' feastin' to be done {Diplomacy: 15, Perception: 26}

Sunday April 10th, 2016 7:26:24 PM

Carver allows himself to become distracted by the wine and song. He plays as long as there are people to listen, it's a party, so he's partying.....

Atlas Sunowl (Trey) AC: 21 (T 13 FF 18), CMD: 20; HP 52/52 Character Sheet  d20+2=15 ;
Sunday April 10th, 2016 8:55:06 PM

Atlas is happy to tell their story to anyone who wants to hear it, whether it is the latest adventure or all the way back to the beginning.

To Armand when he has a moment, "Why don't we just widen the whole place up a bit to account for our larger friends. Who knows, we may have a giant join us at some point in this crazy adventure we're on."

Atlas finishes up a story about their first battle on the road to the Tree, then sits back and takes a break. He enjoys watching the crowd be merry.

I enjoy the stories of our journey to the tree, but eventually, the party tires me out. I head to bed.

The thing a small town party is just this, it's small, folk know each other and the pulse and flow of the party is a zeitgeist of all the participants wants, needs, desires and mood. It started out as a raucous "lets get this party started type deal, but winds up being an old folks get together, with the stars wanting to act maudlin or go over plans for the new dwelling, it's not so much that the party goes down hill but that it changes. The music changes to either quite easy to listen to tunes or sad songs, as the mood strikes the players. Most of the residence have a plate full of food and are either helping put the plans for the house together or talking amongst themselves. Stories are exchanged and a bit of dancing goes on. but its really more of a gathering of old friends than a true party. You sense a change in the residence as well. a kind of relief and comfortable acceptance that wasn't there till just now.

I find a quiet spot by the stream (if I remember correctly there WAS a stream of some sort), pull out the banjo, and play a little tune to the dragonflies.

(d20+9 perform banjo check of 17)

Armand (Robert D) AC 16/touch11/flat15 HP 41/41 CMD 16 Character Sheet

Armand finds he has drunk too much and has become befuddled and is loosing track of time.

Atlas attempts to settle down with some of the Tree's more common residents so that he can get to know them better.

Owen Marcellus (Weston W.) AC: 12/12/10; HP: 26/26; CMD: 15
Tuesday April 12th, 2016 2:17:36 PM

Owen finds Armand a glass of water and sits with him for a while. "How did you come to fight with a glaive, again?"

Letting the others make decisions on the future building of their house satisfies Carver, He enjoys the quiet that the party has become and keeps playing his violin, he plays some classical centaur ballads which he hasn't really thought pf since he left home.

Perform Violin 23

'Osul (Graham) AC:11 (T:11, FF:10), CMD:15, HP:32/32

'Osul continues to circulate, and enjoying the party - even as it becomes more sombre.

Leskni watches the gathering with interest, sensing that there is something supernatural occurring that she really doesn't understand. But she is glad to be a part of it

I nod off in the grass. After about an hour, I wake up, wipe the drool, turn to the other side, and nod off again.

Armand (Robert D) AC 16/touch11/flat15 HP 41/41 CMD 16 Character Sheet
Wednesday April 13th, 2016 10:49:23 AM

Armand tells Owen the story of how the glaive was his father's. Armand's father was once an adventurer but was unlucky in finding treasure and holding on to it. That's how come he eventually had to take the job as the town garbage man. Armand likes the glaive because it reminds him of his father, plus it gives him reach so he can help others in front of him.

Atlas thinks about what is next for the group, then starts to contemplate his life in general. He listens to the patron's idle chatter with an ear for anything interesting as he does so. Should I start focusing more on power moves or increasing my agility?

Owen Marcellus (Weston W.) AC: 12/12/10; HP: 26/26; CMD: 15
Wednesday April 13th, 2016 2:49:26 PM

Owen smiles a moment, then laughs. "I'd say a glaive is a fitting weapon for a garbageman's son. It's the logical extension of a nail-on-a-stick."

OoC: I don't know what to tell you, Trey. You are the party fighter, so we likely need you to deal good amounts of damage. I know Owen won't be doing that any time soon. He just learned Haste, though, so anything that benefits your full attack would be a good thing.

OOC: will be late posting

Carver (John C) AC 16, AC 18 with shield, CMB 6, CMD 17, HP 48/48 Speed 65 Character Sheet
Wednesday April 13th, 2016 11:13:18 PM

Carver over hears the the story about the weapon.....
"Family weapons can be an asset, but then again, sometimes they are their own worst enemies at the same time.
Being a family weapon, you grew up with it, it feels "right" to you because you've handled it your entire life, but it may just be the wrong weapon for the job at hand.
I've had a sword since I was a colt, I know every groove in the hilt, I know it's feel in my palm when I swing it it as someone or something.
Even though I still carry it, I rarely use it anymore. Mostly because I want to strike at foes and do damage. That old comfortable blade it like a tooth pick beside the weapons I now use the most.
It's up to each person to be comfortable Armand, just know that just because your father used it, it might or might not be right for you in the style of fighting you choose."

Carver then drains yet another oversized stein that had been filled with wine.

"Of course, at least a family heirloom is a reminder of where you come from...."
