Billoopl's Room

DM Jeff - The Offer
Wednesday June 1st, 2016 11:50:45 AM

The group leaves the creatures behind the stone barriers behind and continues along the hallway. After just a couple more turns underwater, the hallway very suddenly opens up into what can only be described as a very large throne room. The room is massive in all directions. Even the hallway entrance into the room is huge (40 feet wide). The room itself has to be over 200 feet by 200 feet. The ceiling is far above you in darkness. The ground is sandy and rocky, but there are bits and pieces of glowing plants in various places around the floor providing enough light to light the lower part of the room. Along the walls are various pictures and items gently swaying in the currents. There are even a few torches along the walls, flickering and giving off more light underwater. In one corner is a very large statue of Billoopl made of gold. At its feet are piles of copper coins. On the far side of the room you spot the goal of your underwater quest: Billoopl himself!

He turns and speaks, strangely easily loud enough for you to hear while being so far away. “We do not have to be enemies.” Billoopl says to the assembled black lions. “You have slain all my lieutenants, so I need new ones. Join me, become my new lieutenants and I can grant you wealth and power beyond imagining. You will have no need to fear the sea, you will be able to breathe water as you currently do air and you can move through it as easily as you do on land. The creatures of the sea will do your bidding. Also there are many shipwrecks beneath the waves, full of treasure and knowledge, I know where they are and I will share this information with you. All I ask is you to swear fealty to me.”

He turns and walks to a large chest and opens it. He bends over and brings something out of it. He holds it out to the group and even at this distance you can see it is a barnacle-encrusted heartseed. Billoopl stands all of his fourteen feet tall and holds out the heartseed to the group.

Rillett (MarkB) HP 87/87 - AC 23/13/21 CMD 20  Rillett looks at the creature. Is it undead or a construct? Are there any invisible opponents?

He casts Shield of Faith on Magana, granting her a +3 deflection bonus to AC.

Out loud he says, "Billoopl, I serve Gargul. How could I also serve you and remain true to my lord and my calling? You are not a god anymore. Can you offer the divine power Gargul gives me?"

OOC: I see I forgot to mention the scroll Zeoll read ... it is Protection from Evil.

How much time goes by before we enter the room? Gotta figure out genie duration.

Zeoll tries to tell if the demigod is making a good faith offer, or if it is a trap. Sense Motive 24.

Staff in hand, Zeoll steps forward and says, "That sounds like a grreat offerr to this old wemic. Will you considerr rrestorring the liontaurrs to a homeland of theirr own, on grreat prrairries underr the sun? I will cerrtainly considerr it!" With his Glibness spell, he ability to hide the fact that he is lying through his teeth is a Bluff Check of 36.

In fact, Zeoll is only bluffing until he can get within range of his Charm Monster spell. He walks closer, feigning interest in the offer. Then he casts the spell by activating his staff, using a hero point to punch through the SR. His spell penetration roll is a 1d20+10+8 = 25. Ugh, such bad rolls! If that works, the Will save is base 10 +4 spell level +5 wis bonus +3 feats +1 cradled = Will DC23.

If the spell fails, Zeoll says, "Look, I just want to be frriends!" Bluff check on that whopper is 49.

DM Jeff - The Offer
Thursday June 2nd, 2016 9:29:32 AM

The Black Lions spread out and start approaching Billoopl. Billoopl is a massive beast, an underwater giant. He is a god, and not only in his own mind. His is powerful beyond your imagination and defeating him is a task only for those who are truly prepared to die. He is vaguely human-shaped with a torso and head but at least fourteen feet tall. Instead of arms, he has absolutely massive lobster claws that hold a trident that is over twelve feet long! Instead of legs, he has the tentacles of an octopus that sway and move as he floats in the water just above the bottom of the sea. He holds up a massive claw when the group approaches. “That will be enough. I am no fool, I am a god of immense power. You cannot sneak up on me!”

Rillett casts Shield of Faith, then teases Billoopl with his own allegiances to Gargul. Billoopl responds with anger, “That is just temporary! I shall quickly regain all my former power and those who join me will share in that power. Yes, even you can join me and receive power beyond your imagination! Gargul shall bow at my feet before this is over!”

Zeoll steps forward and as far as he can tell, the offer by Billoopl is genuine. He asks about Billoopl restoring linotaurs to the prairie. Billoopl responds, “Pah! Prairies and sun? There is much more power here under the sea. Rein with me and become the powerful linotaur from the waters!” Jozhur joins in and asks about the heartseed. Billoopl replies, “Indeed, take up the heartseed and we shall rule the undersea together!”

Reggie starts to move to the side as Billoopl throws the barnacle-encrusted heartseed. Normally in the water the seed should have only gone a few feet, but it manages to fly through the water across the vast distance between the group and Billoopl. Reggie watches closely as the heartseed slowly floats towards the ground. Billoopl smiles at Reggie and says, “You already understand. Join me.”

OOC:

Random spell notes: Rillett’s bless has expired.
The genie could only hold its breath for so long and is gone.
Zeoll is still over 100 feet from Billoopl and the range of charm monster is what… 50 feet?

We have had this same offer from Ga'al, and he has the power to back it up. What makes your deal the better one?

Terser asks about the heartseed. Billoopl calls out, “There are enough to go around. But take that one first, then there will be more. As for your Ga’al, I shall be more powerful than him! With your aid we shall take him over and make our own heartseeds! We shall make heartseeds so that each of you can have your own servants as well! Think of the power you shall have!”

Zeoll makes a counter-offer. Billoopl laughs, “Good? Evil? Pah! This IS about power. You can use your power however you like after you obtain it. Join me now and with you as my lieutenants, we shall take over. Swear your fealty to me!”

Reggie pauses and puts her hands over her ears at the sight of the heartseed. She closes her eyes and falls to the ground. Her mouth opens and closes.

When Rillett asks about Bonetown, Billoopl responds, “I shall give you Bonetown as a gift from me! Take the heartseed now and join me! Advance no further, or I shall be forced to stop you now…” He raises the clawed hand holding the trident and points it at Rillett.

Zeoll sees that this is not going anywhere. He decides to make his move.

"Okay," he says, "I'll do it. I'll take a hearrtseed." The liontaur puts his shield away and starts walking closer. (loosing a shield and moving is a single move action if you have a BAB +1 or more). That should put Zeoll about 45 feet from the demigod -- within spell range but hopefully out of reach of that trident!

"I'll have to take off my tunic to do it, and I admit I am shy and modest. Please close yourr eyes forr a minute."

Diplomacy 27, Bluff 51.

The last part, in bold, about closing his eyes for a minute, is a Suggestion Spell (standard action). I'm hoping that as suggestions go, that this one counts as reasonable. The duration could be as long as 10 hours, but all I want is 10 rounds. And with our parley, and with Zeoll really taking off his shield, and with Zeoll's explanation that he is modest (with that sweet bluff check!), maybe it will work.

If Billoopl has SR, then Zeoll's roll to beat it, with a hero point to boost the roll, is a 22! Holy criminy, I just cannot get a break with my SR rolls! Maybe he has none.

The Suggestion Will DC is base 10 +3 spell level +5 wis +2 bloodline power +3 feats +1 cradled +2 Nemesis Insight bonus = 26. Plus the kindly DM may impose a save penalty of -1 or -2 if he deems the suggestion to be very reasonable.

If Zeoll feels the spell take hold, he'll shout to his friends, "For ten rrounds he'll keep his eyes closed! Attack NOW!!"

Well, honestly, if the godling feels himself making a save, odds are the fight is on, so might as well attack either way, I guess.

Terser asks for more heartseeds, hoping to help convince Billoopl that the Black Lions will be joining him. He thinks back to what he knows about heartseeds and realizes he has never encountered them in a setting similar to this. He thinks that the power of heartseeds is beyond and outside the Wold, so he suspects that Billoopl and the heartseed are not directly connected, but he cannot be sure.

Jozhur pauses as well and watches Reggie apparently fighting with herself. She closes her eyes and reaches for the heartseed, but does not feel any control happening to her at the moment. Jozhur calls out to her to get her attention.

Zeoll puts his shield away and tries to convince Billoopl that he will take a heartseed for himself. Billoopl smiles and gestures towards the heartseed on the ground. As he moves, Zeoll casts suggestion hoping to get a jump on the massive monster. As Zeoll looks up to see if he was successful, Billoopl shakes his head and says, “If you will not join me, I will destroy you and find other lieutenants!” He gestures with his empty claw and two massive creatures join him. Two ten-foot tall terrifying twisted frog-like humanoids appear, one on each side of him.

The water erupts with action all around. Rillett moves quickly. Jozhur starts to move forward, but then is moved behind Billoopl with Rillett and Terser. The sudden movement disorients him, and his swing goes wild in the water. At the same time, Billoopl throws his trident. The trident flows smoothly through the water directly at Zeoll, but somehow at the last second, Zeoll manages to duck and the massive weapon flies past him. A moment later, the trident reappears in Billoopl’s claw.

The two bent frog-beasts take aim with their dead eyes at the targets in front of them. Each of them hops and twists, half-swimming and half hopping forward. Each leans back and spits and a long black line of spittle flies directly towards Magana and Reggie! Reggie opens her eyes to attack and is hit directly in the eyes with the black goo. Magana is also hit in the face (Both are hit – Will save DC 19 or fall asleep for 6 rounds).

Zeoll (Cayzle) (AC25 HP 59 of 59)
Monday June 6th, 2016 10:06:51 AM

Zeoll feels so very glad that the trident missed. Bad luck comes to gods and mortals alike, he thinks. The old liontaur casts True Strike (standard action), takes a five foot step closer, and becomes invisible (move action, domain power, duration one round).

[OOC to DM: Next round Zeoll plans to use a combat maneuver. Any chance you might mention Biloopl's CMD?]

DM Note: Just to keep up the suspense and the mystery...the CMD will be revealed when you attempt to do something that requires it... :)

Rillett is a bit unsure what to do next. He will communicate to Zeoll via Zeoll's Message spell, "Next time he throws that trident, see if you can catch it. Maybe then you'll be the wielder and he cannot call it back. Share this message with the others if you can."

He will move 5' (moved on map), and use Aid Another on Terser's attack.

"Terser, Jozhur see if you can get in flanking position."

To Billoopl, "Listen my crusty crustacean, surrender now and we'll see what we can do. Otherwise, we're gonna have the biggest crab feed anyone's ever seen."

With an extra burst of speed, he will toss stolen Trident not at, but to Magana. Incoming gift for Mags!
Hero point for extra action to throw the Trident, don't know what bonuses it might have, but base will be +12 for an 18 to get it to Magana

After Zeoll ducks the trident, he whispers some magical words and then turns invisible.

Magana moves forward towards Billoopl and the frog-beast opens a massive mouth and bites her as she passes (6 damage). It attempts to wrap its tentacle arms around her, but she blasts through them. She swings her new weapon at Billoopl, but it bounces harmlessly off a large claw. The frog-beast follows Magana and attacks her from behind! She feels the sharp teeth of the strange monster dig into her shoulder while a clawed hand slices into her side (11 damage).

Rillett moves up and calls out to the others, trying to help Terser. Terser gives a yell and reaches out for Billoopl’s massive trident. He pulls with all his might, but the fourteen-foot tall sea creature yanks the trident out of Terser’s hand and slams it back directly into Terser’s face. The sound of cracking facial bones travels easily through the water (39 damage). Billoopl laughs as Terser stumbles from the blow.

Reggie steps up to the other of the frog creatures. It tries to take a bite of her head, but she ducks under the maw and punches at it. Her blow appears to have been absorbed by the strange flesh of the giant semi-amphibian/demon (DR). The demon returns the attack, biting her hard and slicing into her with two claws (17 damage). It tries to wrap its claws around her, but she steps out of the attempt.

Billoopl seems unhurried and unworried. A tentacle slams to the side of him, without him even looking, ripping into Terser and drawing blood to the water (21 damage, critical hit {I rolled the 25% no crit: 31}: Terser has the sickened condition for 1 minute (no save), also: fort save DC 26 or lose 2 con & staggered for 1 round from poison). Billoopl then calls out through the water, “Ah, but I am not done with you, small one, just yet” to the space that Zeoll had occupied. With a sudden speed, he moves next to Zeoll’s location and thrusts his trident forward, sinking it deep into the old linotaur’s chest. A large amount of blood flows quickly into the water around the invisible taur (damage: 31). Billoopl says, “You should have surrendered to me when you had the chance. Now I shall enjoy causing you great pain.”

OOC:
Rillett, Terser, and Magana can all take AOOs on Billoopl.

Tuesday June 7th, 2016 5:48:22 PM

Alas, Zeoll's True Strike is useless now. Before he would be able to use it to disarm or trip the godling, the AoO Zeoll's action would provoke would surely kill the half-dead liontaur. And even if he used it to take a swipe at the godling, Zeoll's claw damage cannot penetrate the godling's damage reduction.

Really, Zeoll only has two choices. First, hide behind his shield and back away ... or, second, try to cast a spell such as Command on the god.

No, wait! Maybe there is something, a third option, something that the old liontaur can do with his True Strike! He can use an ability he has never used before. It is his Laughing Touch! That could buy the party a round of breathing room, and give Zeoll a chance to get out of here.

Zeoll reaches out to touch the godling. He has to beat an SR of 21, and he has a +10 on his roll to do so. He rolls a 26, good enough to pierce the godling's spell resistance! Now to see if he hits! His base BAB is +4, +2 with Nemesis Insight, -1 for his size, and +20 with the True Strike. That's a +25 to hit. Zeoll's Laughing Touch hits a Touch AC of 31. That likely hits?!

Assuming a spell penetration check of 26 and a touch AC hit vs AC31 are successful, Billopl should be chuckling and can only take a move action on its turn!

That means it cannot take AoOs! So Zeoll can now run away freely! He moves 40 feet towards the exit, staying out of reach of the froghemoths, and donning his shield as a free action as he moves, safe from the god's AoOs as he moves through what had been the godling's threatened spaces.

[OOC: What is Billopl's reach? I think we would know that by now maybe? Also, where's the exit on the map? I'm not seeing it.]

Rillett heals Terser and moves along to try and aid in the battle. Terser shakes off the massive blow to the face and quickly strikes at the massive wanna-be god before and after it moves, but the effect of the blows is clearly not what it should be (DR).

Meanwhile, Reggie and Jozhur setup flanking attacks on one of the hideous summoned frog-beasts. Every one of both of their attacks blast into the creature, but the strange skin of the monster seems to absorb some of the blows (DR). The creature continues to focus on Reggie, trying to bite her and effectively slicing into her a couple times with sharp claws (15 damage). It tries to grab ahold of her again, but grabs nothing but water as she easily ducks away.

In the middle of the room, Zeoll, feeling very injured and almost helpless, pulls a trick out of his sock that even amazes him when it works! He finds it easy to touch Billoopl, since his face was up close to Zeoll’s. The beast pulls the trident from Zeoll’s chest and starts to laugh. He goes with the laugh as he swims straight up about 40 feet, laughing the entire way. As Zeoll backs up towards the entrance, Billoopl calls out, “Ha! You feeble land creatures think you can beat me?” He laughs more as he continues, “I warned you, and now you will face my wrath like so many before you!”

On the one side of the room, the massive frog-beast and Magana are locked in a tight battle. Magana swings the small mace and makes contact with the beast. The monster bites and slams into Magana, trying to grab him. The two of them spin and turn in the waters and Magana spears the frog-thing with a horn, but the massive beast bites into her shoulder as the battle continues.

Rillett moves and heals his allies while Reggie and Jozhur continue to hack away at the other frog-beast. Jozhur does the most damage while attacking from behind. The thing keeps on its mindless attacks against Reggie with claws hitting here and there (15 damage). The thing tries to bite and grab Reggie, but again Reggie is able to duck and weave and avoid the arms of the thing. At the last second, Terser steps up to surround the frog beast and gets in a very solid hit on the creature, taking a chunk out of its side!

Zeoll casts another spell, telling the massive beast fighting Magana to FLEE. The creature disengages from Magana and starts running back towards Zeoll! When it spots the source of the instruction, it veers to the side and runs down the hallway from where the group had entered. Magana nods at Zeoll and gives chase down the hallway.

Billoopl watches from his position high in the room and laughs as he watches the frog-demon runs from Zeoll. He says, “Oh, you think you can wear me down by taking out my minions? Perhaps I shall create a hole in your chest large enough to shove the heartseed in myself and make you my new minion!” He stays swimming at the height and launches the huge trident at Zeoll. The massive trident’s aim is true and the giant weapon slams hard into Zeoll again (23 damage). Before Zeoll can react, the trident appears in Billoopl’s claw again and he throws it a second time! This time the trident misses to the left, but yet again it appears in Billoopl’s claw and he throws it a third time! This time the trident misses to the right and once again appears back in Billoopl’s claw. He looks at the end of the trident and says, “Is this thing bent?”

Zeoll (Cayzle) (AC25/26vsEvil HP25 of 59)  d20+33=48 ;
Thursday June 9th, 2016 11:19:23 AM

Zeoll is so grateful to Rillett for that healing burst! In essence, the godling's 23 damage is only 3 damage.

Zeoll laughs at Biloopl and taunts the swimming thing. "Can't thrrow strraight, can't contrrol yourr minions, can't win this fight! Silly crreature! Whateverr made you think you could be a god? You don't scarre me, and I can take anything you dish out! That's IF you can find me!"

Zeoll uses a move action to become invisible. He knows now that Biloopl can see him anyway, but he is bluffing -- the liontaur wants Biloopl to think that Zeoll believes his invisibility will protect him. He uses his speech and body language to try to give the god that impression Zeoll incorrectly thinks he is safe.

Bluff 48

Zeoll's entire goal with his taunts and invisibility is to get the god to throw that trident at him again, just like he did last round. But this time, Zeoll is readying the use of his tower shield. When that trident comes at him, he'll use the shield for total cover, making him immune to the physical attack. It may well be that Billopl will use his second and third attacks to try to sunder his shield, but Zeoll is fine with that.

Note that as soon as Zeoll uses his readied action, his AC drops to 18 / 19 vs evil. Also note that his CMD (for example, vs sunders) is 18 / 19 vs evil. Zeoll's shield has Hardness 21 and 80 hit points, so Zeoll is happy to have the demigod waste rounds and attacks trying to damage it.

Zeoll also takes a five ft step towards Biloopl.

Jozhur blasts the beast and the first frog demon falls. Its body stops moving and floats in the water near the bottom of the sea. Seeing it fall, Reggie moves quickly to attempt to attack the swimming Billoopl. He does not even notice her feeble attempt at an attack.

Rillett moves up and pulls out a scroll. He carefully unrolls it, amazed that it doesn’t get destroyed by the water. Apparently the magic of the scroll extends to the paper and holds it together. He makes Terser’s weapon good-aligned in hopes that will help against BIlloopl (indeed it will!).

Meanwhile, Terser sets up with his ring as Zeoll taunts Billoopl. Billoopl responds confidently and with more laughter, “HA! You think you can hide from me? No one can hide from me! I shall soon again be invincible, and you will be nothing more than fish food!” He leans back and throws the trident as Zeoll hides behind his shield. The waters bounce with the massive clash between the shield and the trident. Terser tries to strike the trident, but the translucent ram’s head simply plows through some water. The trident appears in Billoopl’s hand and he throws it a second time. Again Terser misses with the ram’s head attack and again the trident slams into the shield. A third time Billoopl throws the trident, concentrating on the invisible shield. Terser also concentrates hard. The trident flies through the water at the same time the ram’s head does. The ram’s head crashes into the trident, knocking it from its path towards the hidden Zeoll. The trident flies across the room and ends up on the ground far from everyone. Zeoll is the nearest to it. Billoopl laugh more, looks over at Terser and says, “You fools! You think a being as powerful as me needs such a crutch? I shall destroy you with my claws, as you have desired!”

OOC:

Keep in mind for underwater, if you’re not walking on the bottom:
If you have Freedom of movement, do whatever you like.
To move, you need to make a swim check. If you FAIL your swim check, you spend the round flailing about in the water: lose dex bonus to AC, opponents gain +2 to attack.
If you succeed in a swim check, you can move one-quarter your base speed as a move action, one-half as a full action. Then, if you use a slashing or bludgeoning weapon, you get a -2 to attack rolls and only do half damage! Grappling checks are at -2 (were you really going to attempt to grapple this guy?)

Billoopl: AC 32; Damage: 14; SR: 21; CMD: 41; DR 10/good; cannot be flanked; reach: at least 10’; currently swimming about 40 feet up.

DM Note: I do hate to make major changes in the middle of the huge battle, but yours truly will be attending a week-long class out of town next week, and I really don’t have any idea how much time I’ll have outside of class. Therefore, DM Dan will be taking over starting Monday and will keep things going through this big boss battle! Good luck Black Lions!

Zeoll rolls randomly to see what fey friend he calls ... rolling a d10 ... a 9 ... a unicorn! Zeoll summons the equine right next to Biloopl (spell range is 45 ft). Since it is one step away from Zeoll in alignment, the spell lasts for 18 rounds and the creature will basically do as Zeoll asks.

Zeoll urges the magical beast to hold its breath and attack the enemy!

The unicorn hits ACs 21, 8, and 19, MISSING ALL, and it (and Zeoll) realize that it will need nat 20s to hit. Well, next round it will try something else, if it survives!

If an untrained swim check is needed to stay next to the godling, the unicorn, rolling at +4 due to Str, gets a 13. That should be fine since the water are calm, right?

As for Zeoll, he looses his shield and casts Hideous Laughter at Biloopl. SR check is a 22, so that just blasts past his SR. The will save DC is a base 10 +2 lvl +5 chr +3 feats +2 bloodline +1 cradled +2 nemesis insight = 25. But Biloopl, unless he is a humanoid or a monstrous humanoid, gets a +4 on the save.

Jozhur strikes Billoopl, wounding it

Zeoll tells the unicorn to cure Reggie's Poison and the creature does so. He then begins casting another spell to call for more assistance. The laughing spell will not likely hold for long

Rillet channels additional healing to all. All PC's gain 18HP

Reggie's attack slips left and misses Billoopl.

Terser takes advantage of the spell and slams Billoopl with 2 consecutive strikes

The poison runs through Reggie's veins for another few moments and then is banished by the magic of the unicorn. Reggie takes the additional con point but is now poison free.

Billoopl recovers and glares at Zeoll with a new hatred. "You will be last He then turns to Terser, and you shall be first

Billoopl has cast off the magi that was affecting him and now seems to have a renewed vigor about him and purpose. Nearly all of that attention is focused on Terser

"Well," wonders Zeoll, "what will the Fey King send to help me next?" He does not have to wonder for long, for the spell takes effect and delivers a ... rolling a d10 ... a 9! That's a Wooly Rhino!

Zeoll commands the beast to gore the godling! It tries its best ... it hits AC30, but that's not good enough!

Still. the rhino's constitution lets him hold his breath for a long time, and with his +14 Str mod, even his untrained swim check (a 30) is more than enough to let him maintain his position. Oh wait, no, his 28 Str gives a +9. That's still plenty for a good swim check.

The unicorn wants to help too! Zeoll urges him to help Terser. It swims over ... with a 20 swim check, that's no problem. The unicorn's permanent magic circle vs evil gives Terser a +2 deflection bonus on AC and a +2 resistance bonus on saves. Which may be more or less useful depending on his existing deflection/resistance bonuses, since they do not stack. Finally, the unicorn uses Aid Another to help Terser's AC, and his roll of 18 gives Terser a +2.

Well, what about Zeoll? The old liontaur casts his Bless spell, so that everybody gets a +1 morale bonus to hit this son of a squid.

EVERYBODY PLEASE READ MY POSTS SO THEY WILL SEE THE BONUSES THEY GET! Everyone is Blessed for a +1 to hit and TERSER gets a +2 to +4 AC boost!

Rillett frowns. This is not going well. His friends are having a tough time hitting this creature, but he is out of ways to improve their odds.

At least he might be able to delay Terser's death. Rillett heals Terser for 28 points and ends the bleed damage, expending a 4th level spell. Even Rillett's healing is running out as Billoopl continues to deal out damage.

"Billoopl, I call upon you to surrender in the name of Gargul. We will send you to meet him, and it would be better if it were at least on neutral terms rather than as an upstart god that failed."

The sorely wounded unicorn does his best to help. He takes a five ft step back and cures Terser with his once/day Cure Moderate Wounds ability. 6+8+9 = 23 hp curing.

Does he need to use the ability on the defensive? If so, his concentration check is a 25, so that's A-OK.

The rhino attacks Biloopl with a +1 morale bonus from the Bless. It hits AC34 for 21 piercing damage (horn gore). [OOC: At first I used the wrong stats for the Wooly Rhino's Attack. The edited die roll field has the correct attack numbers. Sorry for the confusion.]

Zeoll casts a spell to stop Biloopl's onslaught, if only for a moment. He casts Extended Command: HALT!

Zeoll's SR check at +9 is a 19. Zeoll uses a hero point to retroactively boost that roll by +4, to make it a 23.

The will save DC to resist the Command is base 10 +1 lvl +5 wis +3 feats +2 bloodline +2 nemesis insight +1 cradled = 24. If it works, the godling will not be able to take any actions for two rounds.

Then the liontaur walks over to where Biloopl's trident has fallen.

BUFFS: Anyone within 10 ft of the unicorn is in its Magic Circle vs Evil. All allies are now Blessed.

Unicorn swim 9 fails to swim, sinks down.

Wooly Rhino swim 17 OK.

Rhino attacks Billopl ... hits AC24, a miss.

Unicorn spends the round trying to swim back up ... Swim check 13 succeeds for 60 ft movement. It is trying to get above Biloopl so that next round it can charge down against him.

Zeoll looks at the trident on the ground. Could he pick it up and throw it, maybe with both hands? Or is it too big?

Either way, the old liontaur casts Summon Fey Friend II. We'll see what the spell summons next round.

He tells his friends, "My spell will keep him halted next rround as well. So use this as a chance to give him hell!"

[OOC: Note last round spell cast was Extended Command. And per header AC, shield is now loosed; also updated because Pro Evil has expired.]

DM The unicorn is not going to be able to charge. It does not have a swim speed
The trident is a Large Weapon, you can try to throw an oversized weapon if you wish. Currently you are about 60' away having moved to get the Trident

Reggie simply fights on, her punches become less and less effective as the battle rages on. She continuously looks for openings but so few are to be found.

every once in a while an opening is presented and she tries to take advantage of it.

[OOC: Zeoll cast command and moved to the trident two rounds ago, and cast SFF last round.]

The wooly rhino and the unicorn swim swim swim: Rhino 11 OK, Unicorn 5 not so much!

The unicorn tries to sink towards Biloopl for a poke with a horn ... swim 22 as a move action!

The unicorn attacks at +9, needing a nat 20. a 21 is a miss.

The rhino attacks at +15, gets a 34, inflicts 23 piercing damage.

Zeoll spell from last round finishes, and calls to this evil place, 50 ft from Zeoll, and 10 ft from the melee, a ... rolling a d10 ... a 2 ... a dryad! Zeoll sighs. Her abilities will not be of much help. He urges her to protect Terser. She tries to swim near to the fellow ... swim check 13 OK ... and uses aid another to boost his AC ... but her nat 2 on the aid another check is of no help at all!

Zeoll picks up the trident (move action) and throws it two handed at Biloopl. He has a -6 for wrong size and not proficient. No idea of range penalties. Zeoll's base attack is a -1. He rolls a nat 9, to hit AC8. He's mostly doing this so he can get a feel for the item's range and use. He's hoping it comes right back to him.

The best Rillett can think to do at this point is to try to ensure someone else can end this Billoopl.

Fortunately, Zeoll is here to provide entertainment by summoning woodland creatures under water.

Rillett continues to choose try to aid Terser since he has a good aligned glaive that should bypass the godling's damage reduction. But even this fails, and Rillett cannot provide the aid he hoped for. (Rolled a 1. awesome.)
