DM Dan K - The Battle Rages On d100=63 ; Thursday June 23rd, 2016 8:50:45 AM
Zeoll's spell completes and a Dryad appears. She tries to assist Terser, but the poor forest nymph is completely lost in this deadly environnment and fails to aid him The unicorn closes to attack and fails in the attempt to harm Billoopl The Rhino has more success and punctures another hole in your enemy Zeoll hefts the trident and it gets no where close to his intended target. It would take a small miracle for the liontaur to wound BIlloopl with the weapon. The weapon does return.
Jozhur's combat feint works and he scores a hit
Reggie is able to bash through Billoopl's defences as well. Perhaps the sea thing is getting as tired as she is.
Terser slashes his glaive across Billoopl's midsection. For a moment, a breif second in time, Billoopl seems to shimmer and split apart from himself just as the Glaive is about to connect. The Glaive is about to pass through open water instead of striking true, but then the shimmer ends and Billoopl finds himself quite solid again and right where Terser expected him to be.
The Glaive continues its path out the left side, accompanied by a great deal of entrails and yellowish green goo. There is no great implosion, no final words of defiance or indignation. Only the distant roar of moving water that is everpresent in the deep can be heard. the lifeless body of Billoopl floats unseemly before you, suspended in death by the waters about like a macabe bouy.
The fight is done, the day is yours

Zeoll sighs, thanks his summoned fey friends, and sends the dryad and the rhino back to the Wold's Cradle.
He asks the unicorn for a bit more help healing his friends, and the magical beast uses his powers to cure Zeoll. Two cures bring Zeoll to max, and 7 hp curing to Terser. Then the unicorn too departs for home, just before its breath gives out.
As for Zeoll, the old liontaur says a prayer of thanks to the Queen and King of the fey for their help in this fight. Then he checks to see if the thing is truly dead. Then he casts Detect Magic and scans the room thoroughly. He depends on his still active See Invisible and Elf Vision spells to help him find hidden stuff and secret doors. Perception 32.

"I wonder how Magana and Aexana are."
As Billoopl's goo begins to spread in the water, Rillett remembers he's breathing that water and moves away. He will channel energy to heal the group for 24 points. If we are no longer going round by round he will also cast Detect Magic and Detect Poison and scan the area over the next couple rounds, sharing the info with the others.

Jozhur forgets he is underwater for a moment and attempts to spit on Biloopl's corpse, but he just ends up with drool on his chin.
"So, that's it? He's dead? That was rather anticlimactic. I expected something , but I guess he wasn't a real god. So, now what?"
Jozhur sets about checking Biloopl for anything of value. If Zeoll uncovers any secret doors or chests, Jozhur will check the entrances for traps before he opens them.

Terser hacks at the pretender for a moment before realizing he is truly dead, and then slowly his energy and rage drains out of him. He floats where he is for a moment, panting with exhaustion, which is odd underwater, and takes in the surrounding.
Think we still have to take care of those statues?
fatigued for a 2-3 min as aftereffect of rage
Zeoll (Cayzle) (AC25 HP59) Friday June 24th, 2016 10:44:05 PM
Zeoll takes a moment to survey the corpse of Billoopl, and to pry or cut out some trophy. The old liontaur remembers aloud how he used to take totems of fallen foes and save them, part of the liontaur cult of Tomi, keeping bits of claw or nail or tooth in a totem bag. The grey-mane taur no longer honors Domi, having failed that god long ago. In his old age, he explains, the gods of tricks and treats, of the nature to which his mortal remains will soon return, are the gods he worships. But he still remembers the days when he collected totems in Domi's name.
He uses an odd, evil-looking wavy dagger to extract a totem of the godling. He detects magic on the corpse as he does so.
"This was a tainted blade, enchanted to be used by a famous assassin of Hook City, but I took it frrom him and used it to rring the Chaos Bell of the South," recalls Zeoll. "That rremoved the taint of evil and magic frrom it, just as we have rremoved the taint of faux-divinity from this upstarrt deity-wanna-be."
Zeoll stows away his trophy carefully.

Zeoll thanks and dismisses the assistance sent to him. He checks and for all he can discern, Billoopl is dead. Moving about the great chamber with Detect Magic, reveals quite a bit of partially hidden trinkets scattered about the floor with coin and bits of jewelry and other small pieces of valuable art and collectors items
Terser and Reggie give Billoopl one more whack each to really , really make sure teh creature is dead. there are no signs of voluntary movement and no signs of regeneration of any kind
Coming out of her Rage, Reggie goes limp from exahaustion and several members of the group make sure she is ok. Other than being extraordinarily tired, she is all right
Terser and Zeoll each take a scale or other small piece from the corpse, Zeoll detects no magic from the body. terser also wonders about the staues, are they still trying to pound their way through the magic wall and will the group still need to destroy them.
The floor of the great chamber is scatterd with coins and odds and ends. It appears teh would be master of the sea and newest god did not have use for chests and other such storage devices. His treasures and ill gotten gains are simply scattered about
It takes several hours to cover teh area with any thoroughness, but the task is eventually complete and the party has assembled the following

The old liontaur does his best to reassure Reggie. "My dearr, you acquitted yourrself with honorr, and you hurrt none of yourr frriends. Fearr not, and be prroud." He answers any questions she might have.
Zeoll stows away the tooth he has taken from Billoopl.
He looks at the statue made of gold and platinum. He wonders how it could be worth so little while being so big [OOC: described as "very large" on June 1]. He wonders if it is hollow or filled with some base substance. He looks it over carefully, taking 20 on the search check, and if he finds no secret door or panel or entrance, he uses his dagger to dig through the base and peers inside.
For light, he uses the underwater torches that illuminate the room. In fact, he also takes those as party loot. They're likely worth a couple hundred gold each. How many are there?
He looks at the plants that also glow as they grow. He'll take a few of those as well.
Then it is time to go. "Come on, frriends, we need to leave this place."

DM Dan K - Nice Wall Tuesday June 28th, 2016 10:51:29 PM
Rillet channels positive energies to flow into everyone one more time as the treasures are gathered. Zeoll approaches the large statue and finds it is made to appear to be valuable, but in reality it is Fools Gold hammered and pressed over a stone frame. The smaller statue found, is pure gold. Zeoll also collects the torches from around the room, 12 of them. The plants begin to loose their luminosity shortly after the liontaur cuts them from where they grow.
Terser's search reveals no other exits from the main chamber
The group heads back down the passage and if the statues are still trying to get through the wall, they are doing it silently. The pounding that was coming from the other side is no longer present. The wall itself is still very much in existence and will be so for nearly another 5 hours.
The group has some decisions to make or some creative solutions to arrive at. The passage is blocked by a very thick, quite permanent stone wall for the next 5-6 hours
Us DM's believe party members should be leveling with that last XP drop
Rillett (MarkB) HP 87/87 - AC 23/13/21 CMD 20 Wednesday June 29th, 2016 2:20:05 AM
Rillett looks at the stone grill blocking the passage. The genie that created it was only able to create 9 cu ft of stone, so he made this stone grill 9 feet high and 20 feet wide. How high is the hallway?
His original Water Breathing spell was going to last 5.7 hours, so we should still be OK for a bit.
He pushes his helmet back and scratches his head. "Hmmm. I can teleport 4 people total. There are 5 of us, and Zeoll here counts as two."
"Terser, you should be able to beat a hole in this with your adamantine fist. Anyone else see another way through? Zeoll - you got anymore of those critters that can help us before they drown?"

DM Dan K - Nice Wall Wednesday June 29th, 2016 9:42:57 PM
It takes Terser some time, but not too much for him to cut a 5' hole through the stone. Listening as you do so, you hear nothing and upon cutting through find no signs of the statues. Continuing to back track to the exit this area, you pass through the room where the statues were and still are. Now, they are stationary, just statues once more. The group finds no evidence of the creatures they had to fight and destroy as they had come this way, as they reurn and soon enough, you exit and begin the ascent to the Lionfish.
Coming up from the deep, the ship is easy to spot, a great black silhouette against the 'sky' of the surface. It occurs to you, that dwellers of the deep can easily see what goes on above them, and from well beyond the surface to see. Breaking the surface, the party is soon back aboard their ship. Magana is there to pull them aboard. He explains how his combat with the frog thing carried him down the passage and he was soon confronted by a second and was forced to continue a retreating action. Sorely wounded, separated but victorious Magana saw no choice but to return to the Lionfish.
Zeoll (Cayzle) (AC25 HP59) Thursday June 30th, 2016 6:19:59 PM
Zeoll comes aboard and hugs Magana. He asks her if she has seen any sign of Aexana. Although, he says as much to reassure himself as his fellow taur, if anyone can survive and thrive out here alone, it is the polymophic gnome greenmage.
He drops to his haunches and just breathes for a minute. It has been forever (OOC: Since January 2014!) that we've been fighting Billoopl and his minions. Only Jozhur and himself now remain of the Lionfishers who started this war on a god.
"Jozhurr, my old frriend, do you rrememberr the massacrre at Gullporrt? That was the starrt of all this mess. Funny to think that we'rre at the end of it now. I'm not surre what to do next!"

Terser hopes that breaking down a wall in this place isn't symbolic of anything else, but with Billoopl and his lieutenants dead, he didn't think that there would be much left to threaten anyone. Unless Victaaris decided to do something, though he didn't seem charismatic enough to draw much of a following.
He greets Magana back on the ship, thanks her for the lift, and congratulates her on a job well done with the frog creature before seeking a bunk to rest a minute. At least he didn't need a bath after all that water!

She had found a new family here, but how much of her secret do they know, Now that they have seen what she can do, and what happens, will these people trust her?
Reggie goes to the railing of the ship and stares off into the horizon. she seems lost in thought.
After a few moments, she turns around to watch the others enjoy the victory. She thinks about her short time together; they have been through so much together before Reggie came aboard.
as she watches the others, her eyes fall on her new Captain, Jozhur, trying to hide her smile behind her long black, wet hair.

"Indeed Zeoll, this has been a long time coming." He reflects a moment on the significance of what they have accomplished. When Zeoll mentions Gullport, his eyes go blank and his smile fades, "Gullport, such a shame. All those lives. I hope Gargul has something special in mind for Biloopl."
He pauses for a moment before addressing everyone, "What's next?". He looks at Reggie, "Revenge?"
DM Dan K - Homeward Bound Thursday June 30th, 2016 10:15:46 PM
"The storm abated rather suddenly not too long ago" Tula reports quickly to the question. "No trouble and no sign of trouble since you went down. We are ship shape and ready to sail Captain." None on the ship have any sign or guesses on the whereabouts or condition of Aexana. Rillet focuses on the Status spell and finds the gnome in good health, but he has no other information.
The Lionfish sets sail and picks up a good wind and on slowly rolling swells. It seems a perfect set of conditions for sailing. The kind of day that could easily make one fall in love with a life on the sea. The ship is still damaged from the hard journey out, but she's not taking on much water and the bilge pumps can easily accomadate it.
While the journey into the deep was terrifying and full of danger, the passage home is just as pleasant and soon enough the Lionfish is within the sight of Bonetown . "Light! This place is crowded!" The short, plain woman can't help but exclaim at the press of bodies in the port of Bonetown. Tishe' had only just arrived upon a long ranging ship out of South Harbor with a stop-over at Taurus to see an old friend. That was a nice time, she admits to herself, then is jarred back to the present by an accidental elbow.
From what she has heard, Tishe' arrived too late to meet the heroes of the Lionfish, but they are coming home now, and that is the source of the crowds and festival atmosphere. "Excuse me, didn't mean to pull your thread", she says to the large man smelling of old fish. She briefly considers waiting for the heroes at their residence, but no. She is as excited as the town to meet them as soon as possible!
In the middle of the pushing crowd, the short woman cannot possibly see anything, so she casts a couple of spells. One allows her to rise head and shoulders above the crowd, confident that in the crowd no one will really notice. The second puts four green and gold lights pulsing about her head.
When the ship arrives, she shouts and claps and raises her hands just like everyone else!

He will scrounge through the goods on the ship and the things we found in Billoopl's lair to see if there is anything he can use, letting everyone know he will gladly replace what he uses.
He'll also spend some time on the deck as we sail. He makes sure Jozhur, Tula and Tommy are aware that he is always prepared to cast Water Walk or Water Breathing should he need arise. He idly touches his Ring of Sustenance that allows him to go with little sleep.
Finally, Rillett will cast Sending spells to send messages to the Harbormaster and to Yaas Farril (his mentor and a blind priest of Gargul in Bonetown.) He will let them know that we have were successful and are returning home.

she seems to prefer to make repairs the "old fashion" way instead of using magic. it seems it occupies her time.
Once they get to port, Reggie lets those with friends and family to line the railings while she works to make the Lionfish ready for docking.
Zeoll (Cayzle) (AC25 HP59) Monday July 4th, 2016 10:51:42 PM
Zeoll recalls the long weeks he spent once making a maximal cloak of charisma. Of course, the Wold has moved on, and such things are not possible any more. He thinks about the magical instruments he would like to make.
DM Dan K - Home Tuesday July 5th, 2016 9:14:26 AM
The Lionfish sails into the harbor, picking up escort after escort vessel and soon a near armada of ships is coming in with her. Men and women cheer for the decks and the docks are swarming with cheering people as well. Word has certainly spread across Bonetown of the deeds of the captain Jozhur and the crew of the Lionfish.
The Lionfish is expertly moored and right on the pier waiting is the Harbormaster, Linus and his right hand man Enoch Almraive. Standing with them are several of the pirate captains, notably you recognize Reince Winthrope of the Profitable Venture and Coer and Zarod as well Each has a broad smile on their faces and large pint of ale in a silver tankard. Just off to the right of them is Goody Bess and her coven (Wilhelmina and Mama Lupe).
The main crowd is being held off the pier you are docking at by a group of the Harbormaster's men. But there is a notable in the crowd as well. A plain looking woman, with mousy brown hair who is literally floating head and shoulders above the rest. The old Liontaur Zeoll is not so old yet as to not instantly recognize an old friend and loved companion. Tishe Spellweaver.
As you step from to the gangplank, the crowd roars in unison, "Hail, Hail to the Lionfish!"
Zeoll (Cayzle) (AC25 HP59) Tuesday July 5th, 2016 11:22:33 AM
Zeoll breaks into a huge grin, showing the enlarged canines that give him his accent. He steps forward, unlooses his shield, and holds out both hands to Tishe.
"The sun rrises on us!" he says. "And also, if I rrememberr yourr turrn of phrrase, How 'shady' it is to see you! The fey queen bless this old taurr's hearrt! I fearr it may burrst with gladness."
The grey-mane minstrel's words are florrid on a special occasion like this, but his happiness -- as you see in his eyes and tail -- is pure.
"How long has it been, my old frriend, since we herded fey animals in the Giggling Ghost, and fished for parcels from the Yule tree. A verry long while, I think."
He looks at her, just happy to greet someone who knew him in his youth. Zeoll himself is changed since those days. In addition to the grey mane, his face is careworn with age and sea-spray. He wears a tunic in orange, red, and yellow -- bright fall colors. His shield is carved with fairy symbols, plants, and animals. The feathers and beads braided in his mane (and tail-tuft) are the same as ever, though.
Tishe' (SteveK) AC 15/15/13 CMD 19 HP 91 Tuesday July 5th, 2016 5:17:36 PM
"Well isn't this the night's soil!", Tishe' exclaims happily as she grabs as much of the old liontaur in a hug as she can. "I was told there was a Zeoll with the Lionfish, but I thought it was, you know, a family name or something. I had no idea it was you!"
She steps back and takes a look at her old friend. "And yes, you said it right. Many Shadows!" She thinks back and it really has been nearly a decade since they have seen each other, and it doesn't look like those years were easy on Zeoll. Tishe' herself is no longer young, but still carries herself well. Gone is the naive woman right off the Sargrass Plains. Here is a confident, knowledgeable woman, one who has travelled extensively. One who is not afraid of standing water!
"As it happens, I'm here to meet you and your shipmates. If you have a spot, I'd like to sign on, Captain!"
Zeoll (Cayzle) (AC25 HP59) d20+11=15 ; Tuesday July 5th, 2016 6:52:38 PM
Sense Motive 15 ... maybe Zeoll sees that Tishe sees that Zeoll has aged more than she has?
Zeoll laughs. "What I know about captaining a ship would fit in capstan's porrt bilgehole! We liontaurrs burrn life fast, and age soon, and I have had no time to learrn the nautical arrt."
"So, let me intrroduce you to the rreal captain. This is Captain Jozhurr, ourr cleverr leaderr, a masterr of the waves, and a longtime veterran of the Lionfish. He crrewed this ship while I dallied in Hook City fighting zombies and playing with the Chaos Bell!"
He turns to his other comrades, and names them too.
"And this is Rrillet, a wise serrvant of Garrgul; Terrserr, among the mightiest dwarrves I have met in my many trravels; and Rreggie, a marrtial arrtist who is morre a parrt of ourr family than she knows, and who is farr morre competent, strrong, and able than she may think."
Zeoll bows as he introduces each of his current friends to this old one.
"My fellow Lionfisherrs, this southerrn lady is Tishe, who I have long known in my drreams, and who I am pleased to meet in the rreal Wold at last. I have known herr as a frriend, trruly, but not as a comrrade in arrms, so let me leave it to herr to tell you of herr own abilities and adventurres."
(On some level, Zeoll is aware that all this is taking place in front of the gathered crowd, but the liontaur does not care, and even, on a deeper level yet, sees no harm that can come if the people of Bonetown observe this meeting of old friends.)
Rillett (MarkB) HP 87/87 - AC 23/13/21 CMD 20 Tuesday July 5th, 2016 7:48:10 PM
Rillett will climb down off the ship. As he does so he smooths white robes that seem unnaturally clean after a sea voyage. He holds a huge trident.
He will address the Harbormaster, Coer and the others in a voice loud enough for the crowds to overhear, "Under the expert guidance of Captain Jozhur we sailed to where Billoople lived. Deep beneath the waves we swam to his lair. Terser, Jozhur, and Reggie began to beat on him. But it was Zeoll that told him a joke so funny he could not attack. He and his minions there have been defeated, and this was his trident."
Later, he will address this newcomer. He bows low to her. "It is indeed a pleasure to meet the woman of Zeoll's dreams. I only hope he behaves as well in his dreams as he does when he's awake. You are welcome with us, but it is up to Captain Jozhur who may board his ship." He smiles as he looks sidelong at Jozhur, "What say you Captain? With Magana and Aex indicating that the Wold is pulling them along a different path, we can't let Reggie be the only woman in our group."
(To the DM - Rillett would like enough time to prepare some of the scrolls he used in the last adventure.)

Terser spends time with Reggie on the voyage, learning what she knows of sea travel and trying to instill what he has learned in his time on the 'Fish. In private moments, he prays a bit over his spirit bag, seeking guidance from his ancestors, hoping that this business with Billoopl is done, but not foolish enough to believe that every one of his followers has been sent to Gargul.
Upon reaching Bonetown, he greets the wellwishers, former crew, friends and family with open arms and raises his fist to cheer when Rillett presents their tale.
To Tishe, he adds to the 'taur's greeting. Any friend of Zeoll's is welcome indeed, and glad indeed we are to have friends in this time. Old friends have gone on their own paths, but new ones keep our road exciting. I'm sure the brothers will make you welcome as well.
Tishe' (SteveK) AC 15/15/13 CMD 19 HP 91 Tuesday July 5th, 2016 10:33:14 PM
Tishe' is oblivious to the differences of time between herself and the liontaur; it looks like Tishe's focus is as sharp and as focused as ever. Why it is like she has completely forgotten about the crowd, too!
"Captain, a pleasure to meet you." "Rillett" "Terser" "Reggie". She is pleased to meet the other four heroes of Bonetown. The cleric of Gargul is eloquent, but Tishe' looks oddly at him, as if not believing his compliment. The short woman shakes her head and focuses on something else.
"Captain, I am sure you do not want to take just Zeoll's word that I can weave some shady picks for your pack. Er, I mean crew." Tishe' pauses. "I am from Hook City of parents from the Sargrass Plains, and have travelled all over the Wold. From my father I have magic and music in my veins. From my mother..." She pauses, noticing that they are in the middle of a crowd. "I am an arcane sorcerer capable of casting Blue spells and a pretty good Sailor too. I'd be willing to audition in a more private place."

DM Dan K - Home Celebrations Wednesday July 6th, 2016 4:06:49 PM
Tishe speaks with Zeoll, introductions are made and the woman is quickly welcomed to the ranks of the Black Lions and the crew of the Lionfish.
All of the captains and the harbor master salute the Black Lions as they disembark the Lionfish. "All of Bonetown has heard of your success and deeds in our name and safety." Winthrope says. The others add their congratulations as well and to the very end of it Linus adds "For the first time I think in the history of Bonetown, every captain has agreed that this week is to become a celebration. You'll finds games of chance and skill springing up all over and for the taverns are completely open. Most could think of no other way to thank you, but with drink and games."
Linus makes a gesture to the side and a torrent of fireworks fly into the sky
Captain Zerod then steps forward and opens a wooden case, the kind that might hold a plaque or frame. the case holds a set of golden coins. "The Captain's Council did think of another way and wish to present to each crew member of the Lionfish, these gold coins engraved with the councils mark upon the rear face."
All of the taverns have come together to throw a giant gathering in the center of Bonetown. There are casks of rum and ale, crabs, lobsters, shrimp and various other fish and seafood dishes. There are also cheesy biscuits aplenty.
The coins bestow +2 circumstance bonus on diplomacy checks in Bonetown. Tishe gets one as well, having just been included in the Lionfish crew

Zeoll bows to Tishe and excuses himself. "Duty calls, my dearr frriend. I have a crrowd to grreet today as well, I see."
The old liontaur makes his way into the mass of Bonetowners, starting with the Harbormaster and the assembled Captains. He thanks them for the coins. He asks the Harbormaster about any lingering effects from the attack on the ships in the bay, and the fireballs that Billoopl's forces rained down on the dock area.
He has a special embrace for Captain Coer, who helmed the Lionfish for several years. "After the hubub is over," he says in Tauric to his old friend, "we have to make time for a chat!"
He also seeks out Brother Engev and Brother Lancel, the priests of Pantheon who have been struggling against the tide here in Bonetown (the party shares a residence with the brothers). And he bows to the witches, especially Goody Bess, and begs their permission to visit them in days to come.
Then Zeoll wades into the party, telling tales of the Lionfishers and the story of how they defeated Billoopl. He emphasizes that it was not his own sense of humor that incapacitated the godling with laughter, but the blessings of the King and Queen of the Fairies.
He lifts his voice in song, and enjoys showing off his skill with flute and lute. Perform: song 17, winds 17, strings 30. Seems like today the air is short in the old taur's lungs, but his fingers are nimble as they pluck and strum the melody!
After catching his breath, Zeoll continues to make the rounds. He tries to make friends and engage with people everywhere. His Diplomacy mod is a +22 these days, and he also uses that to Gather Information that he might hear among the partiers.
Finally, when the party is well into winding down, he finds his usual spot under the stars on the deck of the Lionfish, rocked by Mother Wold's rhythms, and asking nothing of his dreams, for a change.)

He carries a long bow as well, but stows it aboard the 'Fish prior to walking into the crowd.
Jozhur stays in the background, leaving Zeoll to play the role of front man during the welcome home party. The human is plenty comfortable with crowds, but generally avoids being the center of their attention. He hasn't even been a sailor for all that long, so being around the more more experienced captains makes him even more uncomfortable. He really wants these pirates to understand how critical it was to their success that they all pulled together, and that those in town can also accomplish great things if they will pull together for a common good.
He continues to believe that the Black Lions can make a difference, not just for the town's defense against outside forces, but also for improving the heart of Bonetown itself.
He will also channel energy twice if there are any with injuries to demonstrate Gargul's life giving aspect, and will point this out. Certainly, if anyone has a greater need for healing he will see to that too.

Linus and the captains disperse into the crowds themselves after the small gifting ceremony of the coins. The Black Lions, likewise make their way to the center of town for good ale and food. There, they find Goody Bess and her coven also crafting things in their cauldrons. The liquids are brilliant in color and the witches hand them out with chuckles and giggling smiles. All assure the party that the potions are very temporary and no one will do anything they are not inclined to do. With a wink, they add that tomorrow's gossip could be quite entertaining, but certainly not dangerous to any
Reggie discovers that as a crew of the Lionfish, it is quite impossible to find a quiet spot this night. At any given second there is at least a dozen men and women of Bonetown who want to hear the story, impart their gratitude, offer a drink and the occasional marriage proposal.
In fact, everyone save Zeoll, is extended at least 6 proposals of marriage through the night. The old liontaur might simply be off the possibility menu
Bonetown is in rare form of cooperation, goodwill and understanding. At least for now, the town is like a utopia of friendship. Pirates, scallywags, and smugglers all seem to have put evrything aside this night and all of them acknowledge that this night of goodwill is all due to the efforts of the Black Lions
The night wears Rillet and Zeoll speak to the crowds about what can be done, what can be Bonetown. Other minstrels are playing and Zeoll's melody soon can be heard in all corners and taverns of the town in one form or another.
The damage from the attack is slowly being repaired. It will take time and resources, but it will be done
Zeoll picks up a couple different stories from a smuggler here and a venture capitalist there about Rum trying to push her influence at Bonetown. None seem to pleased about the rumor and Zeoll finally is able to come to the source of the 'infringement', The WLA. Rumor has begun that the Woldian League of Adventurers is looking to establish a base in Bonetown.
A few other stories also reach the liontaur over the course of the night of free flowing alcohol A pair of pirate captains is looking to create a new trade route Linus is looking to extend his venture to Rum, an offering of protection to the free traders of the sister city A group is adventuring for treasure on the volcanic slopes

There was a time in her life when Tishe' wouldn't have recognized a marriage age proposal if it walked up and slapped her face. After traveling with the Bloodpack, she learned allusions and insinuation and subterfuge. Not everyone came out and said what they wanted or were truthful in what they were after. Still, the marriage proposals amuse the woman more than anything.
"I am hardly the warp to your weft, we haven't even Walked together!", she would try first. Persistent ones would get the more honest "I'm not weaving that pick any time soon." Very persistent would-be beaus get the "I'm not interested in sex... Or you" admonition. Although even then, she tries to ensure there are no hard feelings.
What Tishe' really IS interested in is learning about her new home; where things are in and around Bonetown, who the nearby VIPs and local personalities are. It must be the party, because she does better than normally!
When Goody Bess offers the potion with... interesting side effects, Tishe' politely declines. It's not that she was worried about any negative effects or feelings about witches, but the worry that she would become the focus of attention. "Which of You Dwarves Said You'd Marry Me?" [DM Jerry] Monday July 11th, 2016 11:03:10 PM
Quickly, a set of tables are set up from a nearby inn and covered with a carpet. Musicians begin to gravitate towards it. After four or five safely succeed in standing on the tables, they huddle for a second and then say, "Zeoll! Get your tail up here!"
However, Zeoll is busy gathering information. Through listening and discrete inquiries, Zeoll confirms that the rumor of the WLA coming to town is indeed floating around. He also confirms its source: A Town Crier, named Ulafanos, shouted it to everyone, announcing that Rum had a new leadership named The Triumvirate, that no one knew who they were, and that they wore wooden masks. Along with that was the side story that the WLA had been removed from Rum and those involved from the WLA in Rum had all been booted from the organization. Evidently, Ulafanos was somewhat frustrated because the end of his shout was interrupted by amazing events in the harbor.
Some folk seeing the transition from meal to dance, begin moving tables of food to the side creating a sort of dance floor where a tiled portion of the square exists.
A bonfire is being built, supervised by several of the Harbormaster's men to be sure it won't be too near any of the buildings.
Several storekeepers begin setting up a final run of fireworks to end the festivities...if that ever happens. Children are rewarded with free sparklers and they begin running in a "sparkler" conga line.
A sizable Minotaur with a braided beard and dressed as a traditional monk walks up to Reggie and very simply says, "I will wrestle you madam. But I don't want to marry you, at least not today. His huge white grin is quite charismatic. He bows. I am Izekiel from Minotaur Island. I was to enter the gladiatorial arena in Rum, but with the harbor locked up, missed it."
Goody Bess sizes up Tishe and smiles. "You are indeed new around here. And you know how to make an entrance, joining the hottest group of adventurers right smack upon their return from killing a godling." She seems very interested in what Tishe chooses to say in response. Not a test, as such, but more of an inquiry.
Meanwhile, there is a disturbance as a strong backed dwarf, rolling 2 unopened casks to the front of the makeshift stage to make room for dancing, pauses for a second hearing someone offer a drinking contest for his hand in marriage. He rights the casks and then picking one up, marches over to the general area where Terser's comment was made. He sets the cask down and does a standing jump to land on the top. "Which of you dwarves said you'd marry me? I can outdrink ya! I know a dwarven voice when I hears it!"
As Jozhur enjoys his evening, he notices a jostling near his right side. With his experience, he knows instantly that someone was trying to pick his pocket. A hand did get inside, so whoever it was has some talent. [Perception check of 20 to spot the culprit.]
Goody smiles and gives Rillet a potion. "Enjoy hun!" A mischievous smile crosses her face as she turns to give some to others around her. Rillet casts Detect Magic on the potion and finds a minor illusion upon it to make one's nose grow and turn blue.

"Very new", Tishe' confirms to Goody Bess, "but t certainly not trying to hog the spotlight. "I am originally from the Sargrass Plains, a very hot and grassy place very, very far from here. Waves of Woldsblood destroyed the Sargrass and shipwrecked me and a couple friends in the Windbourne Hills where I stayed for a while, but had wandering feet. Decided to help wherever I can go and ended up on Minotaur Island where a good friend told me of the troubles here and a band of adventurers who was standing up to those bullies. Well! ". A flare of anger rises and recedes as the sorceress thinks of Bullies taking advantage of good people. "And I thought I could help. Arrived too late, but amazed that Zeoll is here with the Black Lions "
The short woman looks around at the party in the town. "The specifics are almost opposite, but there are so many similarities that it is like the Sargrass." Tishe' waves her hand at the crowd. "A frontier town of strong independent people, many scattered settlements between miles of waves with the ship captain-merchants sailing between and facing the dangers of the Grass for wild profits "

He swishes his tail in anticipation. "My good woman, please serrve me one of your lovely beverrages." The old liontaur downs it without hesitation, and wipes his mouth, clearly enjoying himself.

Talking Like a Girl! [DM Jerry] Tuesday July 12th, 2016 11:31:57 PM
Jozhur instantly spots the culprit. A small sized human girl. When Jozhur shouts for her to stop, oddly enough, she does. She waits for him...defiantly? Or what that confidence he was seeing? She has brown hair pulled back in pigtails and a very dirty face smudged with the activities of the last few weeks. As he approaches, she also very definitely reeks. Her hands are empty.
Goody Bess nods at Tishe, trying to pass out potions and listen to this important new Black Lion. She smiles. "I like how you describe us as independent and strong. Usually we are called lawless criminals." I have never heard of this place you hail from. Is Sargrass just the name of your homeland or is it also a type of real grass? Waves of Woldsblood? That's incredible. I didn't know such a thing was possible outside of the Shadowlands! Are you sure you're not pulling my leg?"
Zeoll drinks the potion and notices no effects at all...until he talks. His voice comes out as a sharp soprano! He's talking like a girl. All the kids nearby begin giggling! A final time, the assembled musicians on the temporary stage yell, "Zeoll!!! Wanna join us?"
A female dwarf pushes at his brother, the "barrel roller" and says, "Goober head. He's a man. Go away and I'll drink him under the...uh cask. [OOC: sorry I messed up on the gender yesterday] She smiles up at Terser and says, "I'm Duerja. Shall we drink? No marriage, but I am thirsty...and you are...definitely someone worth knowing." She smiles. Light brown of hair and a very short trimmed beard. [I'll let you take the lead here as to how many mugs you can drink. Make a Con roll for each mug DC 5. For every 5, add a penalty of -1. I know that is easy as well as a slow progression, but you are a DWARF! I'll do the same after you determine how long you can go. When you miss, your done.]
Izekiel the Minotaur replies to Reggie and says, "Cause I was all prepared to fight and didn't get the chance. Besides, where I come from, all celebrations include fighting!"

Jozhur puts his sap away as he approaches the girl and checks his pockets for anything missing. "Say, you remind me of me not all that long ago, stealing just to get by." He discreetly removes ten gold pieces from his pocket and places them in her pocket.
"There, you shouldn't need to steal for awhile. Stop by the Lionfish if you want to learn a thing or two about sailing or carpentry, maybe we can even find a spot on the crew for you if you work at it." He jostles the girls hair and smiles, "You make a lousy theif, you'll lose a hand eventually."
He hopes he convinced the girl to earn an honest living. Maybe the gift of gold wasn't the best thing to do, but it makes him feel good, seeing so much of his past in the girl.

Tishe' hops up on the stage, upends the buckets, and pulls out her rhythm sticks. "C'mon Zeoll!", she calls, your audience is waiting for you!" And she drum rolls an introduction to the liontaur!

After an awkward pause she makes up her mind. "See ya in the morning at the ship then? Great." Not knowing what to say next, she quickly tries to lose herself in the crowd and totally fails.
Meanwhile Goody Bess is still exchanging quips with Tishe. "Yeah we pull all sorts of things here." Yeah, that was bad. "You say the word "shady" quite a bit. Why? What does that mean where you come from? Turning to him she sees he is off grabbing the Liontaur.

Rillet watches the girl pick-pocket leave Jozhur. She seems oddly satisfied and wonders what was said between the two. [make a perception check DC25 to learn more]

Rillet sees a man choking on his food from laughing so hard. The man looks towards Rillet with a plea in his eyes.
As Zeoll's high pitched chorus takes hold, all the kids of the square crowd the stage and turning form a great chorus and try to imitiate Zeoll's accent! The adults hit the dance floor, trying not to trip over two unconscious dwarves.

Rillett is able to overhear the conversation between Jozhur. While he's relieved that everything seems to be on the up and up, he still keeps an eye on this crowd. Rillett grew up in Bonetown and knows better than to let his guard down.
He sees the man choking, and moves to help him. I will strike him a few times on the back. If this does not work, he will attempt several healing rolls to help restore the man (18, 17, 24). (Not sure if the Heimlich maneuver has been invented yet, but maybe it will be called the Rillett maneuver in the Wold now.)
Zeoll may have forgotten the nuances of his former bard training, but he remembers the minstrel's golden rule: Leave them wanting more! Although he was going to sing another song, the old liontaur knows that he won't top the performance he just gave!
So he begs off his fans and leaps off the stage to mingle with the crowd. While everybody is in a good mood, he schmoozes with individuals and small groups, talking them up, saying how proud he is that the town united against the evil threat. His goal is to walk Bonetown a little bit of a ways towards pride in unity and fighting evil. He emphasizes how Billoopl tried to enslave people and force them to do what he wanted, the way he made the people of Gullport walk into the sea to drown. Fighting slavery and protecting innocent victims is the message behind the message here, and Zeoll hopes to plant seeds to help steer some of the people of Bonetown away from the nastier piratical practices, and towards a more noble Code of the Sea that will restrain the worst impulses.
Zeoll is careful to not moralize or dampen the crowd's joy with sermons.

From a Balcony in the Distance... [DM Jerry] Thursday July 14th, 2016 11:16:08 PM
Rillet helps the choking man and he responds instantly. The man's wife, who seems to wear the pants in the family says, "Thanks mister. What you guys did today...well it is not what we're used to. It was...nice. Don't think I've ever used that word before." Taking her husband, they head home, calling it a day. Rillet continues to check the crowds and keep his attention aware for danger. He sees plenty of others doing the same as the euphoria begins to wear off. Funny thing is that no fights, or at least not many are occurring. Perhaps things will return to normal tomorrow? He has a moment...a rare moment of contentment when...
After Zeoll's amazing performance with the other musicians, raising them up to his level, he walks the streets trying to subtlety influence folks. It is hard to tell if he is having any permanent effect, but he is definitely having an influence upon many tonight. The citizens continue to thank him and he hears them thanking the others of the group as he passes them from time to time. He is all set to go home when...
Tishe, enjoying the applause for the group, mingles and has a great time. For one night only, Bonetown is....unified. Amazing! And for tonight, that feeling is the only motivation that shows. Will tomorrow bring a return to normal? Or is change in the air? She ponders this and her decision to come here when...
As Terser sees to Duerja, he too succumbs to sleep. Someone from the crowd comes and puts a tablecloth over both of them. Then her husband, who is not sober either, makes a sign that says, "Drunk and Sleeping." Then in small print. "The cute dwarf is just coincidence." Later the celebration finally winds down long past midnight and folks began to find their way home, or just slept where they ended up. At some point in the night, someone carries Terser and Duerja home; however, Duerja is laid in a guest room...by someone.
Jozhur detects that he did not get the entire truth from her. Who does from one from her background. However the the things she said were the truth as she knew it....and she seemed surprised her self that this indeed was the case. He thinks he spots her waving in the crowd when...
Just as Reggie decides to take the minotaur on in wrestling, another Minotaur approaches. "Izekiel, you are not going to get hurt again. He didn't tell ya that he was injured, but wanted to go compete in Rum anyway? I put a stop to that! And I put a stop to this as well. Friends have to do what friends have to do. Come stupid friend of mine. You are not fighting tonight! Reggie is about to say something back when...

...From a balcony in the distance, overlooking the plaza, each of you see two adventurers standing and observing the festivities, a wineglass in their hands. Ve Mundr and Ingrge Nightseer of the Dragon Consortium raise their glasses to each of you in tribute, smiles on their bright faces. Then they turn to enter the building and are gone.
The sun is well risen by the time anyone stirs. It is a bright new day, if the sunlight shining in your eyes is any indication. What will the new future bring?
When someone finally ventures outside, a mithril box is found. It is polished and has a fine engraving on the cover.
The old liontaur doubts even his own sharp eyes for a moment when he sees the two Dragon Consortium heroes watching from their balcony. But any doubts are resolved the next day ...
After the party is over, Zeoll escorts (ie, carries) his inebriated pals to the home they share with the Brothers of Pantheon. If he has not seen them at the party, Zeoll warmly embraces the two priests, Lansel and Engev, and introduces them to the new Lionfishers who they have not yet met.
But Zeoll himself sleeps under the sky, as he does every chance he can. The Queen's stars shining down illuminate his dreams. Dreams that for once he wanders aimlessly, not seeking the divine guidance he has sought in recent days in order to know how to fight Billopl. Instead, he seeks the refreshment of natural dreams under the sky.
Next day, Zeoll returns for breakfast to Portside House. The last time the party was there for breakfast, the old liontaur recalls, the bacon was most exceeding excellent. His mouth starts to water, remembering it.
The mithril box is worth a fortune all on its own, he thinks, and the Dragon Consortium inscription makes it both a memento and a collector's item! He nods in satisfaction, then opens it, says a prayer, and scans the interior.

He says aloud, not expecting an answer "Who makes these, and how're they made?"
"Speaking of cool stuff, I'm off to the Catacombs to sell our loot from Billoopl's place. Anyone wanna come? "
Tishe' (SteveK) AC 15/15/13 CMD 19 HP 91 Monday July 18th, 2016 4:35:35 PM
Tishe' raises her hand at Rillet's question. "sounds shady! I haven't met a cleric yet who wasn't used to some black handed work!"
Tishe' is slightly stronger than the average human, and is more than willing to hoist a bag over her shoulder to help the team.
Zeoll (Cayzle) (AC25 HP59) Monday July 18th, 2016 5:06:11 PM
Zeoll goes back to bed and gets some well-needed rest. That afternoon and into the night, he spends eight hours at the House the party shares with the Pantheon brothers and works on his Lucky Demi-Godling Tooth Of Powerful Defense. That's what he calls the enchanted tooth he intends to wear around his neck. After spending the day crafting, he's exactly four eights, or halfway, finished. Another four days and he'll see if all his work is successful or a waste!
Terser (Warren G) [22/13/19 -- CMD 27 -- HP 128/128, DR 1/-] (25% chance no crit, uncanny dodge, rage used 6/28) Monday July 18th, 2016 5:34:21 PM Why not, I could use a walkabout. He strolls out the door with Rillett, new potion tucked away in a pouch.
