OOC: I only need 2 hours per day of sleep, and I was doing that as a day time nap. So there should be no lack of sleep here.
OOC2: The rules of the Wold are that if we let Evil go, it won't come back to haunt us. I disagree with that completely, using Gaston as our example.
IC: Gaston is evil. We dispatch evil. Let's just track him down and finish him off the old fashioned way. :)
Carver (John C) AC 16, AC 18 with shield, CMB 6, CMD 17, HP 48/48 Speed 65 Character Sheet Wednesday July 27th, 2016 3:40:51 PM
Carver snickers when it's mentioned that Gaston is Evil. "Gaston isn't Evil, trust me I'd know, what he is, is Amoral, Greedy and Vengeful. In his mind anything he does to get Vengeance on those whom he sees as has wronged him is just. As to being Greedy and Amoral, they speak for themselves, Greed is greed and Amoral, the way he does it, it just don't matter what gets in the way, it needs to be overcome. We are the obstacle here and if he can get rid of us, he can move in and take over. If he ends up in charge, he will get all the money with no one else getting any... The training I got at home before I joined the Mailed Fist and was continued somewhat in the Fist too, taught me to try and think like your enemy. His main goal has to be money, but the bonus would be our downfall. Lets get going if we are headed to the City, with our "Scout" we can use the road to catch up most of the way then go cross country to get ahead him, then use the road to finish the trip. It'll be faster. Now if one of his horses would throw a shoe, it's be even better, but I don't want to hurt them, just because he owns them....." Carver is all packed up and ready to go, just needs a destination....
Owen Marcellus (Weston W.) AC: 12/12/10; HP: 26/26; CMD: 15 Wednesday July 27th, 2016 4:02:34 PM
Owen frowns at Mack. "It seems to me that he's just a manipulative jerk. Let's follow him and if he's going to Plateau City all the better."
DM Shane Wednesday July 27th, 2016 4:42:05 PM
Options are weighed. plans made. and traveling gear up laid. has the Thieves guild boss been made? or was the assassins corpse being suede.
Come up with a plan! Lets talk about it! will the party follow a plan or doubt it. There is Plateau City and there are Drow on track, once you make a decision there is no going back. The DM is feeling funky and can't help but rhyme sadly he fears this wont be the last time.
Mack: dispatching evil is the thing to do, not as tired as at first it seems.
Carver: is griping and hatching out schemes.
Atlas:, dejected, takes bad cop, and exclaims at how bulletproof bad ol' gaston seems.
Leskni: stays true to others suggestions, follow gaston is what the situation deems.
Armand: is ready to get this thing going, whiping the horses and yelling "yahoo!"!
‘Osul: sneaky devil, he mentions a way to do yet not do.
Owen: realizes there is a thief boss named spike, whose real name is Norman Borstein, alright!
once again my apologies for this rhyming so bad, I hope it made you smile and not feel to sad. Does the party get moving? to Drow, Gaston or City? if they take the wrong track the results could be s..pretty.. bad. but there is risk with every decison, tune in next time, we'll proceed with the mission.
Leskni (Paul Jackson) AC: 15/14/11; HP 35/35; CMD: 16 Character Sheet Wednesday July 27th, 2016 7:27:29 PM
Shall we just have a straight vote?
Leskni : Follow Gaston
Armand (Robert D) AC 16/touch11/flat15 HP 41/41 CMD 16 Character Sheet Wednesday July 27th, 2016 8:02:32 PM "I vote follow Gaston. It's what the Drow, Miles, Lorifir, and Ryan Mistbender. Have indicated as their desire. Plus it's on the way to Plateau City anyway."
Armand gets the horse moving, figuring at least for the first part of the journey the courses are the same.
(OOC, as stated earlier, whom from the Tree was present when Jyrial was questioned and what was their response to his answers?)
Owen Marcellus (Weston W.) AC: 12/12/10; HP: 26/26; CMD: 15 Wednesday July 27th, 2016 9:37:31 PM "As long as the ways are the same, let's get going."
Owen waits to hear how others respond, but he may be swayed by the majority and vote to follow Gaston.
Mack (Eric R) AC: 16 (T 16 FF 13), CMD: 15; HP 38/38, Speed: 30' Thursday July 28th, 2016 7:40:50 AM "I'm not the leader type, but if my vote is needed to break a tie, I vote we follow Gaston."
I listen well to Carver's feelings on Gaston. I understand where he is coming from, but feel we have a different definition of evil. To me, Gaston is evil. Not to the extreme, by any means. But evil nonetheless. Maybe not beyond saving yet, but my hope there has dwindled.
Atlas Sunowl (Trey) AC: 21 (T 13 FF 18), CMD: 20; HP 52/52 Character Sheet Thursday July 28th, 2016 11:14:39 AM
Atlas listens to the others, but is clearly frustrated. "Carver, I disagree. I do see Gaston as evil. Is he the type of evil that burns villages and tortures children? No, probably not, but the way he lives his life and the way he is willing to kill people to get what he wants makes him evil in my book."
Atlas turns to the rest of the group, "What is our goal here? How are we helping the Tree? I'm sure trade deals have gone bad before. I cannot imagine that it is our goal to go out and make this trade deal a success. However, I'm at a loss as to what else it is that we are after? I'm sorry, but from my view point, the trade deal is a bust and the parties are off on their separate ways. I don't want to travel to Plateau City and leave the people of the Tree hanging for when they have a real problem.
"However, if we're going to talk to Gaston then I'll enjoy taking my frustrations out on him. Lead the way."
[i]------------------------------------------------------- ooc: I'm not trying to be a pain. Atlas is just really confused as to what the goal is here. They essentially work for the people of the Tree. I know it is more complicated than that, but in the end the people of the Tree put them up and they are responsible for ensuring the safety of the tree and solving problems in the surrounding areas. This is a trade deal gone bad and clearly (in Atlas' eyes) it was setup by Gaston. There is no hope of saving this deal (in Atlas' eyes) and therfore their job is done. The "bad" people are no longer at the Tree and the trade deal is done. Atlas is ready to move on to the next thing unless someone ties together how this impacts the Tree.
Mack (Eric R) AC: 16 (T 16 FF 13), CMD: 15; HP 38/38, Speed: 30' Thursday July 28th, 2016 12:34:50 PM "My goal is to protect the Tree, and stop the bad guys. Gaston is the bad guy, and he'll be back. I say we try to catch up with him now to put an end to him. But if we can't catch up to him within a few days, we head back to the Tree. I really wasn't looking to go all the way to Plateau City, unless that's where the group wishes to go for our next adventure. I think Gaston will have a strong upper hand on us back at Plateau City."
Carver (John C) AC 16, AC 18 with shield, CMB 6, CMD 17, HP 48/48 Speed 65 Character Sheet Thursday July 28th, 2016 1:51:55 PM
Carver, makes sure he has stuff packed up and ready to go, including the test... "I'll tell you what.... Lord Gargul has blessed me with the ability to determine if someone is truly Evil or not. I refrained from using it with the Drow here because they are from my limited knowledge of their race, inherently Evil. So, when we get Gaston in sight, I'll ask Lord Gargul to show me if Gaston or anyone in his party Evil. I can't tell if they are good, but can see if they are evil. Will that be sufficient for the rest of you, and we should get moving. A couple of us will catch him easily enough, but then I have four legs and magic shoes....."
Atlas Sunowl (Trey) AC: 21 (T 13 FF 18), CMD: 20; HP 52/52 Character Sheet Thursday July 28th, 2016 2:48:35 PM
Atlas nods, "You make a good point Mack. Carver, I'll hold him down while you do your checking. I know you don't need me to, but it will be fun to make him uncomfortable. If he is truly evil then I'll consider it in my right to end his miserable life that moment. Deal?"
Atlas seems a bit more enthused as the wagon begins to move.
Leskni (Paul Jackson) AC: 15/14/11; HP 35/35; CMD: 16 Character Sheet Thursday July 28th, 2016 4:56:26 PM I'm not sure that I have a goal right now greater than satisfying my curiousity. I want to know why Gaston did what he did, I want to find out why the Drow sent us after him. If that comes to nothing, I'm quite willing to give up"
Owen Marcellus (Weston W.) AC: 12/12/10; HP: 26/26; CMD: 15 Thursday July 28th, 2016 5:08:57 PM
Owen sighs at Atlas and Carver. They are young and a perhaps a little hotheaded.
He speaks up, saying, "I don't know if Gaston is truly evil, but linking him to deliberate sabotage would at least give us leverage against his petty insults. And Plateau City is a place I've been looking to go, lately. I'd like to join the Star Mages."
Armand (Robert D) AC 16/touch11/flat15 HP 41/41 CMD 16 Character Sheet Thursday July 28th, 2016 5:20:15 PM
As the wagon jostles along. "Yeah, once we find Gaston and see what he's doing short term, or if we can learn his plans we can report back to the Tree. I'm not the sneaky political type, but I wish there was someway to spread it around Plateau City that Gaston was hiring people out of the thieves guild, and to name his contact. Unanimously of course. Maybe after this we can do something simple like track down a raiding orc party or something."
Atlas Sunowl (Trey) AC: 21 (T 13 FF 18), CMD: 20; HP 52/52 Character Sheet Thursday July 28th, 2016 5:33:00 PM "If I had to guess, every noble in Plateau City has a connection to the thieves guild whether they know it or not. However, making it public for one of them could cause enough of a stir to make it worth the trip. Besides, aren't we due for some training with the guild?"
'Osul(Graham) AC:11 (T:11, FF:10), CMD:15, HP:32/32 Thursday July 28th, 2016 6:08:07 PM "I'll take overwatch with Pella, unless there is something else?"
