[DM Hugh] - Go the Distance Wednesday September 28th, 2016 11:58:14 PM Sesha brings up a tentacled alternative to get them home informing Mhalice she won't let her go.
Tink isn't worried about the portal as she has a weave element item and advocates for breath holding.
Restlin puts his weave element item over Mhalice's head and uses shiny to turn himself into a water elemental.
Garrett keeps the rear guard position and then looks at Restlin shaking his head.
Zane casts fly on himself planning to hold his breath and fly sprint to the surface seeing as he tossed his vest.
Beri turns himself into a water elemental and seizes up his treant versus the gate and realizes the treant will fit but only just so.
The group enters the portal and everyone with their various precautions manage to swim to the surface of the pond and back to the little area in front of the mountain where they had previously fought the guardian turned toad.
"So now that we free from Fae Skiemir, what's next?" Mhalice asks once everyone is on dry land.

Tink will cast prestidigitation a few times to help dry everyone off. The taurs in particular.
"Next? Well, we can't have you stuck to Sesha forever.
Per the conditions of your surrender, we will turn you over to the justice of the Twilight Elves. Sesha has said that she will petition for your life to be spared. I trust Sesha's judgement in this, and as a Justicar I will also add whatever weight I can to help her in this"
Tink considers making a joke about how Sesha's hand is destined to be stuck to someone elses, but thinks better of it.

Restlin dismisses his elemental body. He preferred his old one.
Can't have you stuck to Sesha forever.
Several thoughts cross through Restlin's head. Any other time, Sesha would find humor in them. Today, she was in full Blood Witch, Last Priestess of Serenbeth, Keeper of the Seven Keys of Pentoozler, whatever else mode. He was pretty sure humor and levity was on her short list of things she didn't have time for.
Instead, he answers Garret. "I'm not, though I am pretty confident that Maab and her creatures can handle what made it past the Mythal." He looks up to the sky, trying to get an idea of what time it was. Sesha probably wanted to do that shadow-walk thing she did to get them to the Twilight Elves, wherever they were.
Sesha [AC 39 /21 To/29 Fl] | HP 121/93 | CMD 22] Thursday September 29th, 2016 10:47:20 AM
Sesha takes a deep breath, then thinks for a bit.
"It'lal is in the north, of sorts. It's past the Crying Woods and the Floating City, in the southeastern tip of what your maps call Yrth. I can't Shadow-walk there. We need to teleport. If you have the magic for that ready, I'll scry the council chamber for you to take us directly there. If it's warded, I'll change focus to the courtyard."
She sits, down and exhales, and tugs gently at Mhalice.
"Sit."
She looks at the other drowess and carries on.
"Were you raised in It'lal? You have a power in your blood that I do not. Mine pales in comparison actually, and my brain hurt for awhile trying to figure out why." Sesha picks up a stick and pokes around. She would need a new broom later..
"You are, or at the very least were, noble among our blood-kin. I didn't figure it out until I met the sisters...young clerics of Serenbeth who lend me their spirits now. They are, or were, like you."[
She settles her gaze on Mhalice. waiting for an answer.

"I don't have a teleport spell ready. Didn't think it would be of much use in there. Tink and I will both need to cast it to move all of us. I'll need to sleep again before I can prepare more spells, and I don't have any shelter spells prepared either. We may have to rough it."
Zane (JCC) AC 36 (37), CMB 16, CMD 33, HP 151/190, Character Thursday September 29th, 2016 3:37:47 PM "Bah.... It won't be that rough, you just won't have all of those creature comforts is all. Try three days in a hurricane on board a small trade ship, now that's rough. I think there were only two of us out of the whole crew that weren't sick. Not that I'd want to do that very often, if I remember correctly, we snapped the main spar in the middle of the second night in that storm. At least we can have a fire, right?" Zane sounds serious about the storm, and heads off not too far to gather up some wood for the afore mentioned fire....
Beriothian -- AC:33/18/30 HP: 112/177 CMD = 22 Thursday September 29th, 2016 5:27:34 PM We may want to move a ways away from here if we are spending the night. Bosk AC: Hasted (38/19/33) CMD: (34) hp 98/119 Spells Thursday September 29th, 2016 9:17:21 PM I might not be a wizard, but the Lord of Life and Death is also the God of Travel. As his Eye I have teleport prepared and can cast it if necessary. Do one of you have the spell prepared as well?
[DM Hugh] - Go the Distance Thursday September 29th, 2016 11:29:03 PM Tink casts prestidigitation and dries everyone off before answering Mhalice that they will take her to justice.
Garrett shakes himself off and then asks if anything else might come through behind them.
Restlin returns to his normal form and answers Garrett that Ma'ab can handle anything else that gets through.
Sesha thinks for a bit, takes her bearing as to where they are in relationship to It'lal. She offers for Mhalice to sit and then asks Mhalice more of her history and the differences between their lineages.
Restlin explains he doesn't have a teleport spell ready and they'll have to rough it while they recover spells.
Zane scoffs at this, comparing their situation to being adrift at sea in a hurricane and then asks after a fire.
Beri suggests moving away from the gate.
Bosk explains that Gargul grants teleports to his eyes.
Mhalice says to Sesha, "I am of noble blood. My amulet is proof of this." She says brandishing it in her free hand. You notice it has the crest of House Avon emblazoned on it.
"I was once the Matron in waiting of House Avon before my hopes of advancement were dashed and I had to forge an alliance with Khar in order to attempt to restore Avon with me as its Matron. Obviously that is not going to happen now as I have to sit in judgement and then become a member of your coven whenever I am released. As for the differences between our lineages you are aware that those of us who went deeper underground or were forced in exodus to the jungle sanctuary of It'tal retained more of our connection to the old ways than those who sought out the surface. After the fall of Fae Skiemir we became a fractured people like all the elves. However the differences between a drow noble and a non-noble surface drow probably reflect the starkest contracts among our people after the fall. It all has to do with retaining a connection to the primal magic which is stronger in the settlements away from the surface. I have the ability to cast more innate spells than you do because of my lineage. From my training as a sorceress I actually have it within my power to cast teleport. If you want me to cast it we can get my judgement over with without your wizard needing to take a rest. However, if you really meant what you said about fighting the Twilight Elves if they refuse to spare my life you may need to be rested should they be unconvinced by your words."
Sesha [AC 39 /21 To/29 Fl] | HP 121/93 | CMD 22] Friday September 30th, 2016 2:13:40 AM
Sesha looks at Mhalice and nods. What she said made sense, and Sesha was pleased to learn a little more of her Blood-kin, even from her rival.
"Mhalice has a point. I'm not going to expect any of you to come with us. This is an issue among my blood, and it could be dangerous, and unlike all the other times we've fought, there's not a greater good demanding your help, nor will your deeds in Hook City have likely reached the Matrons ears, so when I arrive and start giving them conditions and terms for the capture of a rogue drowess, they may not react well. Further, my standing with the House is rocky. I never came home after leaving Bryn Baraz. I've sort of been absent without explanation all this time."
She adjusts her eyepatch, then looks at Mhalice.
"I meant what I said. You accepted our terms and helped lead us away. Your life is not forfeit to anyone."
She is unsure about resting for the night. She looks to her friends, and then to Mhalice.
"I want advice on how quickly we should leave. My instinct is to go now. I'd hate for you to spend the night wondering if your decision was a mistake. And the last time we disagreed, you showered Restlin in enough acid to drown a black dragon."
Garret Goodbarrel [AC:35/31/29; +4 vs AOO HP:126/145 Ki:10/17 CMD: 35 SR: 25] Friday September 30th, 2016 1:19:26 PM
When Restlin mentions roughing it, Garret's gaze turns from the water. "Wait, by roughing it, you mean just not having shelter. There's still food, right? I mean, after all, we all need to eat, don't we? Surely everyone else is hungry, too, after all that running, I can't be the only one."
When Sesha mentions departing soon Garret mumbles, "I'm ready to go where the food is, myself."

Beri gestures in the direction of his towering treant staff. If not, I'll cancel the spell before we go. Also, unless the place has been flooded this probably isn't the best form. She feels proud to be a part of such a group, and honored to travel with them.
"I'm ready to leave when you guys are. Did... did we have to do anything to lock the portal from this side?" Tink will check her pack for the golden key that granted them access through the portal. If she still finds it in her belongings, she will cast it into the pond.

[DM Hugh] - The Judgement of Mhalice Sunday October 2nd, 2016 8:36:11 PM Sesha listens to Mhalice & then tells her friends that she doesn't expect any of them to come with
Garrett is put off at the concept of roughing it and is worried about food so that when Sesha mentions leaving he says he's ready to go wherever there is food.
Zane chuckles at Garrett's concern and then tells him he has plenty to share while waiting to hear if they are leaving now or in the morning.
Beri questions whether their destination will allow his treant egress and gives a second thought to his choice of forms.
Bosk essentially says after all they've been through they aren't splitting up now. He also assures Garrett on foodstuffs before asking about alcoholic beverages the drow may have.
Tink is proud to be member of the group she finds herself in and then tosses the portal key into the pond before saying she is ready to leave.
Restlin says they can depart as they don't expect to fight the elves.
It is agreed after a brief consult with Mhalice to make sure they all have the correct bearings the group teleports to It’lal. The group arrives only to find themselves surrounded by the Shadow Guardians.
After a brief exchange between Sesha, Mhalice and the guardians in the drow language the guardians escort our heroes and Mhalice to the council chamber where the matriarchs of the 3 houses, Larvanya of House Bralfah, Athena of House Bancupri and Yasume of House Mylyl sit in judgement.
Larvanya begins "Mhalice of Avon. You once showed such promise, we are a diminished people so a 4th Matron would have been a boon for our small council. If only you hadn't joined the Khar in his slaughter of the other Matrons in Waiting from House Avon we would have a fourth sister. We should sentence you to the same death you wrought on your sisters for how you have diminished us as a people."
The young Yasume of House Mylyl is the next to speak up, "Larvanya, please listen to yourself. We are already lessened by the deaths Mhalice caused while lower us further by killing her? I know that I am youngest member of the council and my house was in suspended slumber for a long time but surely we can show some mercy?"
Lady Athena is the last to speak, "I have heard both of your thoughts on what we should do with Mhalice and frankly I would like to hear both what Mhalice Avon and Sesha of the Iron Adventurers have to say. While it is true that Sesha has been long removed from here we are not ignorant of the greater happenings in the Wold and to find out that one of our people is part of a group undergoing the dragon trials speaks a lot to her character. What we are presented with are two samples representing the best and worst we have to offer."
Mhalice responds, "Khar informed me that I was going to be denied elevation to the position of Matron of House Avon despite my superior magic abilities. He had proof in the advanced copy of a proclamation announcing Lutania Avon was to be elevated to Matron and he told me of his plan to turn Avon into a magocracy with him as its arch-Lich leader. I surmised that if I didn't help him he would kill me and I figured if I could get rid of the other Matrons in Waiting maybe I could turn on Arth later and become Matron in my own right but that did not work out as planned. Khar did not end with the slaughtering of the other Matrons in waiting and other Avons died in his lust for power. After I was forced to flee from my encounter with the Iron Adventurers I realized I would need more power and I sought out and found Fae Skiemir only to become trapped. The Iron Adventures saved me from the prison of my own making and promised that they would plead for clemency on my behalf. In exchange I have promised to serve in Sesha's Coven to Serenbeth after I have repaid my debt."
Lady Athena says, "Interesting do any of the other Iron Adventurers have anything to add?"
The attention of the council seems to be turned on the group.

When she has done her part, Tink retrieves her holy symbol and holds it tightly in her hand and then kneels on one knee before the matriarchs.
"My name is Katinka Hushfoot, Justicar of Pantheon, and friend to Sesha. Thankyou for allowing me audience with you.
I have sworn a solemn vow to Pantheon to uphold His ideals of justice, and to provide counsel where I can to those in matters of law.
If I may, in the case of Mhalice Avon, I urge restraint. It is my belief that Mhalice's death would not be a fitting form of justice in this instance. It strikes more as vengeance than justice. What life of hers remains could be put into service for the counsel, and years could be spent making reparations to the people she has wronged.
She has witnessed much of the Wold, and the experiences of Fae Skiemir alone could provide valuable research.
I do not petition that she be released or go unpunished. Far from it. I humbly ask that her life be spared
I pledge, however, to respect whatever lawful outcome you decide. May Pantheon bless you with His wisdom when making your decision."

Garret heads over to Zane's pack before the group leaves, just to check and make sure the pack is secure and nothing is falling out, especially any food-related items.
When the group arrives at the council hall, Garret stands and listens to the various people talk patiently...for a few minutes. He starts to get antsy and starts shifting his weight from one foot to the other as the proceedings continue. When the group is asked for their input, he quite inappropriately steps forward, aching to do something, and says, "I really can not pretend to understand all that has happened, the history between you all, and the ways of your people. However, I do know that we have seen enough killing and death to last four lifetimes. If Sesha says you should spare Mhalice's life, well, I stand with Sesha and think that you should spare her life."

Restlin has nothing to say. He'll either contradict Sesha, or just repeat what she said with less understanding of what's going on. He keeps his mouth shut.
He is somewhat torn about all this. He trusts Sesha, but this drow almost...no, she DID kill him. If it weren't for Sesha, he'd just be an ugly corpse. If he was being honest, he'd admit he was hoping for some harsh punishment. Maybe not death, but something big.

All creatures blessed with intelligence beyond reactive instincts have an innate desire to protect their own to some extent. In dire situations your options are limited and so you are forced to plan the best you can and hope luck is on your side. I don't know all the tragic details behind this story, nor the evidence that has been turned up. Some of the Iron Adventurers stand in silence either because they have nothing to say or are waiting for Sesha to take the lead.
Some however speak in what they think would be out of turn but the matrons did invite the group to speak and speak some did.
Garrett gets antsy and is the first to speak arguing that they've seen enough death and if Sesha says she should be spared, Mhalice's life should be spared.
Beri is next to speak talking about his experiences with the Wold. He also argues for compassion.
Zane and Restlin stand silent.
Bosk and Tink go over what they will say in their heads as they wait for Sesha to speak.

Sesha [AC 39 /21 To/29 Fl] | HP 121/93 | CMD 22] Monday October 3rd, 2016 11:56:11 PM
(Sorry! I was out of town this weekend.)
Sesha is surprised to see the Shadow Guardians, the group she adventured with when she first came to the halls of the Matrons. She wants to wave at Larien and the others, but the situation doesn't allow for visiting old friends.
"Matrons. If I humbly repeat your assertions that I represent the best of our people, then let me plead for leniency. Mhalice has done much wrong, from killings and theft to greater crimes, like besmirching the image of our blood-kin. The shadow of evil follows every drowess in the shaded eyes of those not familiar with the struggles of our kin to reform."
She stops, then adds.
"She is guilty of darkening that shadow to all who heard her tales. I do not think she should go unpunished. I do not want her to go unpunished...", Sesha trails off, looking at Restlin. "She nearly killed the male I will claim as mine one day. For that alone, death is enough by the standards of our ancestors."
She gives Mhalice's hand a squeeze.
"But the standards of our ancestors are what we seek to change. Serenbeth was once commonly worshiped among us, in easier times. In the more difficult struggles, she was forgotten, before her sad death after being cast into mortality. I seek to grow my cult and coven, if not to revive Serenbeth, then at least her principles. As her last mouthpiece, an unlikely Blood-Witch thrust into her contract, I cannot abide the sentence of death. I am not her priestess, but I respect the tenets they held."
Sesha reaches into her pack for the universal solvent.
"She's given a word bond to my service after she is redeemed in your eyes. We are all long-lived. Take as long satisfying her debts as you need, then remit her to me where she can do good in the world. If it were up to me, I would bind her to crimes. Send her first to serve the monks she wronged. Or perhaps use her to track and subdue other troublesome Twilight Elves who have gone astray. Make her clean your chambers, even. I care not."
She takes a breath and bows her head to the matrons.
"But when your done with her. When you've broke every last evil bone, shattered every last shameful plot, and scoured her soul in bathes of flame and showers of acid, send her to me, so that together I may grow stronger with the most powerful rival I have, that I can guide her to bring honor to Serenbeth's name."

After a short period of time Larvanya says "We have reached a verdict. Mhalice Avon's life will not be forfeit. Your words have swayed us to the side of eschewing capital punishment. Mhalice will however have to serve It'tal for a period of 100 years. Her knowledge and magical aptitude will be put to work for the benefit of our people. While not working you will be confined to a cell. When your sentence is complete you may seek out and join Sesha's coven with our blessing."

100 years. Restlin would probably never see Mhalice again during his lifetime. He says nothing to the drow sorceress as she's escorted away. He wasn't as keen on forgiveness as his companions were.
"Mhalice kinda got us here, actually. Tink and I can get us home, but we'll need to prepare our spells first. No reason we can't stick around for a night." He looks around. "Right? It'll be like a mini-vacation, and I'm sure this'll beat roughing it like we were going to."
He keeps an eye on Sesha. She had been on edge for a long time because of Mhalice. Maybe she'd be able to lighten up a bit...

Beri for the first time has had a chance to catch his breath and realize that he is also getting as hungry as Garret and is very grateful when the refreshments are ordered. Thank you, this food look delicious. You are right, I am sure the Consortium is awaiting our return. We will expect us once our spells are refreshed. As the group discusses plans to get home the druid the druid eats a small plate full of something he hasn't seen before and is happy to find it tastes as good as it looks. Somehow the DC always seems to be on top of things, what do you think the odds are that they already know what transpired during our adventure?
Sesha [AC 39 /21 To/29 Fl] | HP 121/93 | CMD 22] Wednesday October 5th, 2016 6:33:41 PM
Sesha watches Mhalice escorted out, with some satisfaction.
"Right. We can stay here, in the home of my kin."
Sesha, for a moment, was painfully aware that she was the only long-lived folk among her companions. The Taur and Haflings life spans wouldn't last a third of hers, neither would Restlins or Beri's. The halls of art and baubles of her people...plus the visit to her home-lands...had reminded her of the brevity of the other races.
She absent-mindedly rubs the last of the glue from her hand where she was bound with Mhalice. All the enmity between them, ended with a wordless escort into the lower halls of It'lal. She had plenty of time to sort that out later.
"Well. That's that. Thanks everyone. Maybe in a century I'll have the wisdom to actually handle her when she finds her way into my coven. Bosk, you need to find a bit of our older wine. A collector of spirits would appreciate them."
She gives Restlin an awkward glance.
"Come on, Mage-Priest. I'll show you around."

Tink bows to the council as they render their verdict. It was a well rationed punishment. Though truth be told, she finds it hard to fathom 100 years of servitude.
She does not want to interfere with Restlin and Sesha's tour, so looks to do some exploring no her own if permitted. If not, she will see if there are any libraries or museums or places of history she can learn about while here.
Tonight she will prepare a teleport spell to help get them home.
[DM Hugh] - The Judgement of Mhalice Wednesday October 5th, 2016 11:26:00 PM Garrett digs into the refreshment and is happy to accept the offer of hospitality.
Restlin realizes he will probably not see Mhalice again in his lifetime. He too agrees to the hospitality so the party can recover spells.
Zane feels relief as Mhalice is escorted away and is okay with spending the night.
Beri digs into the refreshment and reflects on how the DC always seems to know what is going on.
Sesha watches as Mhalice is escorted away and reflects on the brevity of the other races before showing Restlin around.
Bosk partakes in the festivities and also manages to find a rare vintage of drow wine as well as toadstool liquer and a spirit derived in part from spider venom.
Tink bows to the council and then does some exploring of her own. She finds herself at the grand library of It'tal repository of the knowledge of the drow.
After Restlin and Sesha do some "sight seeing" Sesha receives a note from a runner with the seal of the House of Avon holding the envelope shut.
Breaking the seal is a note from Mhalice it reads, "Sesha, I apologize I did not say anything to you as I was escorted away. I realize this could be construed of as rude. Even though we are long lived I did not expect to have to spend a century in penance to our people so I was a little taken aback. I know that the life of an adventurer can be a perilous one but I want you to know that I hope you survive so that I can join your coven when I finally have atoned. I swore to you that I would honor my end of the deal. You got me out of Fae Skiemir so I will help you restore Serenbeth. Who knows, our people do have resources so I may even have discovered a new trick or two while serving my sentence that can be used to further strengthen your cause. If you do die on my I might just have to find a cleric of Gargul to bring you back after I'm released. I don't like letting a debt go unpaid for good or ill." Mhalice Avon
The night is still young. Do you do some more exploring, turn in or look for what passes for drow nightlife?

Garret smiles when the group seems to be inclined to stay. He's never seen any place like this, and he wants to explore. When Sesha and Restlin walk away together, he makes kissy noises behind their back like a 10-year old.
As the group separates, Garret slows down and actually starts looking around in wonder. He looks up close at things that most would just ignore, checking out small plants that he has not seen and different types of rocks that he does not know. He really starts exploring some of the area, looking for anything that's not familiar to him. Of course, he seeks out some food after a short time, hoping to find some new and different meat to carry around with him on his explorations. By the time the group gathers again for sleep or for departure, Garret is covered with evidence of his explorations -- bits of dirt all over, his ankles are black with mud, there are grease drippings on his chest that have attracted small leaves and other bits of dirt...
Sesha [AC 39 /21 To/29 Fl] | HP 121/93 | CMD 22] Thursday October 6th, 2016 10:46:26 AM
"Nothing so official as that. You'll likely just wear a piece of jewelry associated with whatever house chooses to adopt me. Technically, I have no family here, nor house. I'm something like a free agent. Maybe joining the Dragon Consortium will convince a House to approach me. Initially, I made it known I would refuse. I think now, I would accept an offer of adoption."
She trails off, realizing she's rambling.
"Mostly it needed to be said to make sure the women here knew you were off limits, and that you knew they knew you are off limits. It's not often one of us favors someone so short lived. I know that you're no Y'zargo or anything, but the younger Drow... they sometimes consider a dalliance with a human something of an adventure by itself. Or for some, a way to get under their House's skin."
Suddenly, she realizes how that sounds.
"Not that either of those reasons is why I favor you. I suspect in a pair of centuries I'll never meet another man so bold and charming as you, Restlin. Thanks to you all, I'm in a better place now than I've been in awhile. Losing to Mhalice was upsetting for me. I just discovered my identity and formed a bond with my blood-kin, and in the same breath of acknowledging them and their history as worthy of me, as worthy as the barbarians that raised me, I find Mhalice."
She frowns.
"She was racially superior, tactically superior, and a stronger user of magic. I felt like she was a specter that would haunt me until overcame it, and proof that the strongest of Drow would be those who clung to revenge, power, and domination of the lesser races. My first test in accepting the identity of the Drow, was finding her, and originally, breaking her."
Sesha squeezes Restlin, her eyes fierce.
"I had a thousand-thousand forms of mental torture and anguish ready. But as the time came, Serenbeth was revealed and learning of her meant altering my vengeance. Despite her faults, Mhalice was the only person who ever made me actually drive to become stronger and hold more power. Worthy of a rival, and one mustn't kill their rivals."
She glances up at Restlin. "Well, unless it's a rival in love. Drow tradition makes allowance for that I think. Don't let your eyes wander down here Restlin. What happens next would be your fault."

Sesha, do you happen to know how poisons are viewed here? I know of Drow Poison, but would like something a little stronger if possible. Is that something I can ask about, or is that frowned upon and a topic best avoided?
[DM Hugh] - It'tal After Dark Thursday October 6th, 2016 11:42:21 PM Bosk gathers everyone together and then uses his powers to heal everyone up before they go exploring.
Restlin inquires to Sesha about what is entailed by her claim.
Garrett makes kissing noises before Sesha and Restlin go on their walk. He then explores It'tal seeking out all its nooks and crannies. It takes him a while to find a food cart whose proprietors actually speak common. When he does he winds up with a spider / lizard kabob. The most confusing thing to the halfling are the street signs written in Woldian below. Of particular note from the halfling's journey are a little statue garden in disrepair of several drow he finds at the end of a winding corridor.
Sesha explains to Restlin about drow culture including claiming, courtship and potentially being adopted by a House. She also explains a bit about her rivalry with Mhalice.
Zane listens to Sesha and Restlin. He then comments on love and punishment.
Bosk goes to check out the nightlife to be had. He finds himself at a Drow tavern with a bar containing both a selections of spirits and edible mushrooms with psychedelic effects. There is a stage where a group of drow are rhythmically beating on various drums while a drowess with long braided white hair sings a haunting melody. He actually finds a dubious looking drow near the mushroom bar willing to sell the taur an ingestible toadstool based poison, an inhalable lichen based poison, and a injury poison that is a blend of scorpion and spider venom.
Beri searches for a drow practitioner of the Druidic traditions and finds a drow druidess with a giant spider animal companion. Her grove is a wonderland of bio-luminescent mushrooms and lichen. The two have a long conversation about cave dwelling flora and fauna.
Eventually the party makes its way to an inn that has been prepared for the visiting Iron adventurers. The party spends the night and wakes the next morning feeling refreshed with new spells prepared.
Is there anything further the party would like to do in It'tal before you return home?

Tink weaves garments for the group.
Bosk checks his poisons. He has a dose of each of the poisons in his pouch and cautions being prepared.
So it is decided the Team teleports to the Marble Causeway and are surprised to find not enemy combatants but a gathering of the denizens of Hook City.
Confetti? It’s A Parade! A holiday is called for Hook City and the Iron Adventurers are lauded from the Marble Causeway to Iron Tower Square. Inspector Auslander leads a contingent of the officials of Hook City, and several marching bands including the famed (it is now!) Drum and Fifes of the Hook City Guard. The 5 Milers are here, and MudTowners. The temples and clerics are decked out in their finery, especially the Temple of Ma’ab/Eberyon, Wardd, Panthenon, Jancassis, and the Crones of Gateway Downs.
The bureacracy of Hook City is out, people from the department of the Treasury and department of Immigration in front and waving. They have a few tables setup and some of their number are furiously expediting the paperwork needed to authorize the parade
Merchants and citizens galore shout out names and places: “I got saved by the Iron Adventures from zombies” “Well, I got saved when thrown off the Bridge during the Day of Faith” “Thanks for saving my child from the dinosaur!” “Can you believe I was walking by Mud Town when I first saw them in a tavern fight?”
And so the grand procession for the conquering heroes begins...

Overwhelmed or not, though, he had a reputation to uphold. He grabs Sesha's hand and beams at the crowd, waving and pointing at anyone he recognizes.

Bosk is shocked to find himself in the middle of a parade. I guess the Dragon's knew we were coming. And I never got around to making me chimera skin boots! The Horned Cleric, still hyper aware and half expecting battle to erupt at any moment, keeps his eyes peeled for any danger despite joining in the festivities. He flips the collar on his black pea-coat sewn of chimera skin. The material is strangely soft and warm, thick enough that it conceals any weapons or armor underneath yet light enough to be cool to wear in the sun...but more importantly he loves how the end sweeps just above the floor as he walks making him look totally bad, but in a good way. Underneath his exotic steelgrass armor shows through. Across his back lays a woven bastard sword longer than a man, crafted by the mysterious manfri before the destruction of the Sargrass.
As he walks along with the others patterns form and move across his fur forming intricate patterns. A close look reveals them to be a swarm of scorpions moving in his fur, numerous moving...living tattoos forming rorschach tests across his face and then receding under his armor and out of site only to reappear again. At regular intervals it forms the Iron Adventurer's Shield identical to the one that is pinned to his chest and worn most of the group.
Despite his large size he casts no shadow as he moves about the city, and in the center of his forehead is a third eye. At first glance it appears Gargul's Holy Symbol, but in the center is a real moving human eye. They eye itself is a holy symbol of a priestess of The Edge, plucked from her own skull, a symbol of her faith and gift from the first spirit he helped to Avenge as an Avenger. In the center of the eye's pupil lays Jancassis symbol. Her symbol overlaying Gargul's marks him as a Grim Avenger. An intermediary between the gods when a spirit's need for vengeance or to clear their name keeps them from crossing over the ShadowLands.

[DM Hugh] - I Love A Parade... Monday October 10th, 2016 10:57:35 PM Tink is glad that she took the time to fix her garments. She informs the others that it looks like they don't have time to freshen up and that they should just go with it before waving.
Garrett hungry from teleporting takes time to amuse some children with his acrobatics before finding a meat on stick cart. Sadly he can't find the spider / lizard kebobs he grew fond of in It'tal but beef is always a fine choice.
Restlin is pretty overwhelmed by the sudden parade. He grabs Sesha's hand and waves to the crowds before cautioning Tink about stealing his story telling thunder.
Sesha is surprised from the switch to the dark of It'tal to the brightness of Hook City. She reaches for her broom and realizes that she needs a new one. She instructs Pot-pot to grow and rides around with her legs dangling over his ledge.
Zane Tells Restlin he has this story and then casts prestidigitation to polish everyone's leather and remove the trail dust.
Beri looks around at the assembled crowds and returns back to his normal self accepting the cleaning that Zane provide.
Bosk takes his place in the center of the parade. He is resplendent in all his Grim Avenger glory though saddened by the fact that he doesn't have his chimera skin boots.
The parade continues throughout Hook City. The parade slowly meanders down the Marble Causeway the assembled citizen's enjoying the revelry associated with having a new Dragon Group of their very own. [DM Hugh] - I Love A Parade... Tuesday October 11th, 2016 10:07:55 PM Bosk can see the Iron Tower from where the parade currently is.
Tink reminds Restlin to tell the story right.
Garrett bounces around and entertains the children enjoying himself while he picks up food.
Restlin harumphs at Tink while the thought pops into his head about making sure the rent surrounding the Iron Tower doesn't force his neighbors out.
Zane enjoys the parade but prefers his own council reasoning the DC set it up.
Beri points out that the DC hasn't steered them wrong yet.
Sesha wonders what comes next.
At the end of parade, the Iron Tower Square is PACKED, a raised platform at the gate to the Iron Tower holds an old but hale elf, as well as representatives of the Dragon Consortium. Master Valinaar raises his hand and gets instant silence. “As a representative of the Hook City government, we proclaim that the Dragon Consortium is not a secret Northern influence. We recognize this through the inclusion into their ranks a group of our own Protectors, the Iron Adventurers.” (Wild Applause goes on until he raises his hand again.) “We therefore cede the platform to the most gracious Valdor Dragonstone.”

Bosk does his best to look stoic and heroic as the crowd cheers. As he waits for Valdor to speak he thinks of all the past Iron Adventurer's. How he and the original adventurer's met that first day in Mud Town trying to come to the aid of a "little boy" who turned out to be a hlafling thief in disguise...Padre Sixtus his fellow cleric of Gargul. If Bosk served as the hand of god then Padre was his mouth. Then there was Valla Crudarian who somehow purchased the (haunted) Iron Tower for 1gp...Ariman Couatlfang, Lenwë Palantír, Naru Aetherwind, Xeron. He is the last remaining member of the noble group that sprouted the IA, and though some were only with the group a short time he knows he will remember every Iron Adventurer until the end of days.

Tink isn't quite sure what the protocol is here. Should she stand? Should she wave? Should she cheer? Everyone is watching, and she just knows that if she does the wrong thing now it will ruin the moment for her. She has a fleeting thought about disappearing into the shadows or turning invisible.
She tries not to let on any fear or apprehension she may be feeling, and instead continues to smile and wave to the crowd. When Valdor is introduced, she claps politely.
It may be rude to talk to the others at this moment, but Tink can help but ask over the link: "Is this really happening? Are we about to become a part of the Dragon Consortium?"

It occurs to Restlin that Valdor would be pulling off an epic prank if that wasn't the case. He keeps this to himself, as it may be disrespectful to the hero.
As excited as he is, he can't help but give a thought to all his friends who left. Zeoll would know just what to do in this situation, but he probably wouldn't enjoy the attention. Kyan would have already excused himself and gone up to his room. Hopefully, they're all alive and well.
He waits for Valdor to speak.

Zane takes a place behind some of his friends, unless they seem to want to hide behind him. He hides a giggle as he thinks what the Monks at the monastery where he grew up would do to him if he was disrespectful in this situation. So he reaches up, and pulls his back, letting it hang down between his shoulders. With the sun out and bright like it is, he's worried that his now bronze sheened horns, at least he thinks it's only a sheen to his horns, won't cause too much of a distraction or draw too much attention. Some of the people may remember that his horns weren't always bronze, or that his "mane" (longer hair on head and shoulders) used to be pure white and now has a bronze tint to it either.... From the side of his mouth, "Good or Bad, we are here and will have to survive it...."

Beri glances around at his friends, briefly remembering the time they were thrown in the Hook City dungeons for being disrespectful. But it appears the group is in good spirits and excited for what comes next. He joins in the cheers and applauds as Valdor Dragonstone is invited up.
Valdor Dragonstone [CDM Jerry] Wednesday October 12th, 2016 8:01:11 PM
Valdor steps forward to the edge of the platform, smiling as the diplomat he has had to become, but has never felt comfortable with. However, only the most skilled at detecting the body language of others notice his slight hesitation. As if putting on his "public face" he waves.
"Ladies and Gentlemen! Noble Races! To all the true and good people of Hook City! Thank you for welcoming me to your city. Until now, the Dragon Consortium, an organization comprising the most elite adventurers of the Wold, has been mostly a Northern Continent entity. That is until now.
[polite applause with a bit of enthusiasm mixed with some curiousity]
"You the good people of the Great Hook have produced the most singularly successful adventuring group of the age, The Iron Adventurers! Beginning their career here in Mudtown, struggling to survive, they have grown into those who would conquer the most powerful of threats, even to saving Hook City itself! You have seen them grow up from within you. They are part of you and you of them. You own and depend on each other!
[applause grows significantly with volume and cheers]
"We will not take them from you, but work with them as they now take on a larger scope of dealing with the most critical threats to the Wold at large. May the Gods bless them in all they continue to do as they have blessed them to this point.
[wild cheering that begins a chant. "IRON!" "IRON!" "IRON"]
Valdor spreads his arms using all the training that his best friends Mordrid and Joe Hand have tried to instill in him. He shouts to be heard from deep in his diaphragm.
"Builders of the Iron Tower, they will remain here turning the tower into a castle! Symbols of this great city! They will be considered "Knights At Large" within any realm in the Wold they choose to visit."
[IRON! IRON!]
"Citizens of Hook City! I give you the Iron Adventurers!"
The crowd rushes forward shouting as the cheering becomes deafening. This is not the usual actions of crowds in Hook City. They only act like this on the Day of Faith when they jump to test if the hooks will hold. Amazing!
Valdor motions to the party with a sidewise grin that says, 'They will trample you if you don't come on up.'

She raises a polite hand to the crowd, smiling and waving, and even gives a slight bow to Valdor.
"Thankyou, Master Dragonstone, for that warm welcome. Thankyou to the government of Hook City for allowing this celebration today. And thankyou to all of you for so graciously coming out to see us"
"Er, for those of you who don't know me, my name is Katinka Hushfoot."
"I just wanted to say that whatever success we may have enjoyed as a group was only because of the tremendous support we have had from all of you and from the officials of Hook City. Inspector Auslander, in particular, deserves much praise for his* role."
"Things haven't always been easy, but when I look out on all of you I know in my heart that the Wold is a better place because of each and every one of us"
Tink exhales. In her mind she hadn't messed up that speech too badly. Certainly nothing that would keep her awake tonight dwelling on. But.. what if there were others she should have thanked? Should she have mentioned the Weavers? Should she have mentioned Mud Town?
Feigning a grin she steps back in line, ready to hear how Restlin will no doubt whip the crowd into a frenzy.
--------------------------------------- *DM Highlight to display spoiler: {Inspector Auslander has had a habit of accidentally swapping between being a male or female over modules, so I've taken a punt and gone with "his". Restlin's eyes widen as Tink takes the stage. He exhales as she finishes up, there's time to milk this still. He jumps up to the platform, arms above his head, and calls out "THANK YOU HOOK CITY!"
He waits for the applause to die down. "Katinka Hushfoot, ladies and gentlemen. Next time you see her, tell her you'd like a cup of tea.
"From Mudtown to Five Mile, from the depths of our catacombs to the sanctum of the treasury..." He pauses, takes a few steps, and turns his head sideways before continuing, "...and with a brief stop in jail, we've been through the entirety of this amazing city. We wouldn't be here today without the acceptance you showed a group of young would-be adventurers."
He waits...genuinely choked up for a moment.
"ANYWAY!" he exclaims. "Meet Bosk Deox, Grimm and servant of Gargul, god of life and death. His shadow stands nailed in the presence of Gargul, where countless numbers of his enemies have been sent for judgement."
"Zane Stormfront...not one who likes attention, so I'll be brief. He once tore the still beating heart out of an illithid demigod. That's all you need to know about him."
"Garret Goodbarrel, small, but mighty! He once wrestled an Umbral Dragon to the ground. His heart...and odor...is rivaled only by his appetite. Seriously, after all this excitement, he's got to be hungry. If anyone has food on a stick, he'll take it."
He makes his way down the line. "Beriothian Galanodel started his adventuring career in the shadows before embracing the teachings of Queen Maab. The continued existence of all good people of the Wold is possible only because his spirit was too powerful to accept his own death."
"Katinka Hushfoot loves making tea, but good luck finding her to ask for a cup. She is the glue that holds us together in battle, helping us communicate over distances, summoning extra-planar help, and alerting us to new dangers...all the while doubting her contribution. Will you fine people PLEASE show her some love?"
He waits for them to do so.
"Sesha...where to start with this one? She has the potential to be terrifying. Don't let this one fool you, folks. To be her enemy is to know fear, to go to bed every night knowing you will suffer terrors until the sun rises. Despite all that, she has taken every chance she can to show mercy to those who ask...even the greatest foe she's ever known.
...and she has positively enchanted your humble speaker. He takes her hand and kisses it, giving her a small wink before turning back to the crowd.
"...and me? I am Restlin the Wizard. I am the worst priest of Wardd you will ever meet. I've been killed by acid from a drow sorceress. I've been battered and slayed by a blue dragon...though to be fair he did raise me as well. Oh sure, I can throw spells around, but I would be nothing without my friends. This life...this honor is more than I ever dared to dream.
"You have my word, our word, that so long as we're able, we will be here to protect Hook City."

The Iron Adventurer's are one of your own, born a stone's throw from here in Mudtown, when a group of onlookers stepped up to protect a child in need. Common folk who could barely afford a mug of ale to celebrate afterward. Yet you put your faith in us time after time, and we would not be here today without you. You encouraged us. You believed in us. You even fought along side us when zombies tried to invade. This city showed a strength and spirit to be admired by all the Wold. Each of you should take pride today and say, This is Hook City, here dwell Dragons!
[DM Hugh] - Heroes Welcome right were we belong... Wednesday October 12th, 2016 11:55:31 PM Bosk reflects on how far the IA have come since Mudtown as he stands stoically waiting for Valdor. He also reflects on all the Iron Adventurers that have came through the group and some of the members who made up the adventuring group the IA sprouted from.
Tink is not sure of the protocol. She decides to smile and wave at the crowd. She claps politely when Valdor is announced and asks over the link if this is really happening.
Restlin echos Tink's question realizing it would be an epic prank if Valdor isn't serious. He then turns his thoughts to former adventurers while waiting for Valdor to speak.
Garrett isn't sure what is supposed to happen so he stands to his full height and gestures victoriously.
Zane takes a place behind some of his friends and does what he can to obscure his heritage manifesting in his horns and main. He rationalizes that good or bad they are here & they'll have to deal with it.
Beri thinks about the time they got thrown in jail and then joins in to cheer.
There is a noticeable pause in the assembled crowd as everyone waits on baited breathe for Valdor to speak. The excitement is palpable.
Valdor speaks giving a rousing address to the people of Hook City. The crowd goes wild at his address and they are reacting like they do on the holiest of holy days.
Master Valinaar says to the Iron Adventures before they address the crowd, "I think since Valdor named you Knights At Large you get to pick your dragon name."
Sesha defers to Restlin.
Tink starts out with
"Thankyou, Master Dragonstone, for that warm welcome. Thankyou to the government of Hook City for allowing this celebration today. And thankyou to all of you for so graciously coming out to see us"
"Er, for those of you who don't know me, my name is Katinka Hushfoot."

"Things haven't always been easy, but when I look out on all of you I know in my heart that the Wold is a better place because of each and every one of us"
Before wondering if she should have included more people. An odd thought pops into her head as she realizes she finally solved the mystery of Inspector Auslander noticing that he is without a certain belt worn when he shows his feminine side. She realizes that Auslander possesses a belt of gender swapping.
There is plenty of time for the rest of the group to address the crowds...

As Restlin mentions the dragon, Garret beams and points to himself, nodding his head in agreement. When he mentions the food on the stick, Garret looks into the crowd, still nodding, hoping that someone does actually hand him some food on a stick. He will start to eat it while still directing the crowd in the cheering.
After Bosk's speech, Garret gets so excited with his cheering and directing the cheering, that he accidentally flings the meat off the stick he has. He winces as it flies quite close to Valdor, then smiles and waves at him.

To the side, he says, "Mr. Hand, now please, if you will sir."

Joe Hand, consort of King Claudia throws a sad smile at the Iron Adventurers and beckons them to continue.
He holds a memory stone in his other hand, seemingly recording for posterity everything happening here.

Screams issue forth from many and the excited crowd goes from exultant to panicked.
Yet almost instantly, a feeling of calmness pervades the square as these dragons seem to be using the opposite of a dragon's fear ability on the crowd.

(OOC: Not sure if I'm supposed to DM post today so here it goes...we can always delete if not)
Restlin follows Tink applying his flair for story telling to his speech and really whips the crowd into a frenzy. He manages to highlight some of the accomplishments of each of his friends as well as show gratitude to the people of Hook City for being their home.
Bosk speaks plainly and affirms that the Iron Adventurers belong to Hook City and in Hook City there do indeed dwell dragons.
Tink comments over the link that Bosk has created their doormat slogan and applauds Restlin's oratory skills.
Garrett chooses to forego speaking and instead plays the role of cheerleader directing which parts of the crowd should cheer and when. Garrett makes sure to point to himself when the dragon grappling is mention and continues to nod when Restlin mentions food. A vendor gives Garrett a chicken kabob this time and the halfling munches on it while continuing in the role of stage director. He gets overly excited and while gesturing with the stick a piece of breast meat plops down near Valdor's feet.
Zane gives simple words of thanks and acknowledges that Hook City has become his home.
Beri remarks that he would have liked to have a warning that a speech was expected. He then gives a brief speech honoring the relationship the Iron Adventurers have with the people of Hook City.
Valdor gets all misty eyed and remarks to Garrett that he is reminded of his own ceremony before asking Joe Hand to continue.
Joe Hand with his magical recording device reminds Valdor that a name has not been selected.
Valdor addresses the Iron Adventurers again admitting that they actually fared better in their trials then his group did however he is interrupted by the sudden apparition of 5 ancient dragons flying over the crowd.
Two are gold. Two are silver. One is Brass.
The gold one in the center bellows.
"IRON ADVENTURERS, YOU ARE WORTHY TO BE NAMED DRAGON.
"BY WHAT NAME WILL YOU HENCEFORTH BE KNOWN TO GOD, DRAGON, AND THE NOBLE RACES!"
Restlin steps forward and suggests that the Iron Dragons would be appropriate.
Bosk thinks back to the time the group was imprisoned and Alistair made fun of their name. "No greatness has ever came by doing things the easy way. The journey turning iron into tempered steel is a long one taking time and enduring the heat, and we have come out the better for it. I stand by that statement. He reasons in support of Restlin

Tink is awestruck as the dragons appear. Not one, but FIVE ancient metallic dragons in one place. She wasn't quite overwhelmed by the presence of the entire Hook City population, but, well, 5 dragons kind of takes things up a notch. She wants to show them proper respect, so drops to one knee whilst holding her head high.
She is grateful that Restlin spoke first and nods at his suggestion. "The Iron Dragons is a good, strong name." she then looks to the dragons above them and finds her voice unintentionally goes softer "Provided naming ourselves after a metal isn't considered, um, rude to, er, metallic dragons"
Tink had always felt kind of small in the Wold. That's just life for a halfling. But when you are kneeling before 5 ancient dragons, speaking with them and answering their questions, every act that lead to this point feels insignificant. These dragons have seen things far beyond Tink's years, and when she is dead and buried, these dragons will likely continue to look over the Wold.
Being in their presence feels like part of a reward, and Tink can't help but feel a little proud.

We have faced those trials put before us, and it has strengthened and sharpened us. Forging unbreakable bonds among ourselves and within the community. Assuming it meets with the approval the dragons (he points up) and those present here today (he points to the audience) we shall keep the name you have known us by, and we shall from hence forth be known as the "Iron Dragons". He then waits for the crowds response.

Tempergos the Brass Dragon [CDM Jerry] Monday October 17th, 2016 11:22:01 PM
Just as the golden dragon is about to speak, the brass dragon dives down just on top of the stage. You can smell his molten breath as he shouts.
"I, TEMPERGOS, METALLIC DRAGON REPRESENTATIVE TO THE DRAGON COUNCIL WITNESS THE DECISION! IRON DRAGONS YOU ARE!"
Looking up to the other dragons, he says, "COME LET US HONOR THEM! WITH YOUR BLESSING, DRAGONSTONE?"
Valdor Dragonstone [CDM Jerry] Monday October 17th, 2016 11:25:59 PM

"Now, Mordrid, if you please!"

"Iron Dragons. Metallic, like yourself, kith and kin. Not audacious, like Gold or Bronze, but sturdy and steady. Functional and reliable, always pledged to carry a heavy cause, and never just for adornment or decoration." She nods her head and smiles charmingly at the Silver. The name truly fits.
"Respectfully..", she reaches her small slender arm, dark as ebony, towards the dragon. "Would you carry me high and fast, dear Dragon? High enough to brush the silver skirts of the moon, and swift enough to catch the last breath of Serenbeth before it fades forever?"

Thank you for this honor Tempergos. This is a privilege most every man has fantasized about at some point in their lives, and your very appearance is sure to inspire courage and valor in these people for generations. Although more familiar with Gargul's creation of the Chromatic dragons, Alemi's Metallic dragons inspire just as much awe and wonder in the blond cleric.
As he rides upon the dragon's back he takes in the view of Hook City, recalling the underground catacombs the group discovered and how they saved the city from a hoard of zombies and the numerour adventures the group has had within and outside its walls. Mind Flayers, haunting, rescue missions. Adventures that took them to meet the Teucri in outer space and deep into the Sargrass. Adventures that have allowed them to travel the Wold and beyond...his only regret that the one responsible for this parent's death is still at large and his vengeance not yet fulfilled.

Sesha quickly settles on the Silver Dragon feeling a kinship to it. She holds out a hand and respectfully asks to be taken high enough to catch the last breath of Serenbeth.

The Iron Adventurers go on a grand tour of Hook City as the crowds on the ground struggle to keep up with the high flying dragons.
The Dragons soar high up in the air circling and circling until they are towering above the city. They then dive down and end up hovering near Mudtown where there is a newly carved iron sculpture of the group fighting zombies in the catacombs.
They stop to allow the group to take it in before swinging by the wall of Tears / Wall of Fears where there are new Iron reliefs of the groups adventures with the mind flayers.
After viewing of the reliefs it is off to the next stop Soldier City where there is a sculpture of the haunting.
It is then on to the next stop The Marble Causeway where there is a sculpture depicting them struggling with Khar Avon and the Spear of Eberyon.
The viewing of the new artwork continues and in Labor Town there is an iron sculpture of the group with the Chaos Bell.
The next stop is The Stairs where images of their arena battles having to deal with the Bronze ring.
At the bridge / market there is a sculpture of the Iron Dragons meeting the Teucri.
At Magic City there is a sculpture of the first Dragon test with Garrett wrestling the dragon.
At the Docks there is a sculpture of the Iron Adventurers tangling with De Rais.
At the outskirts of the Sargrass Plains there is a sculpture depicting their adventure deep inside the plains.
The dragons pause at the outskirts of the plain. Before taking one last flight over the plain itself...

He then starts narrating for the dragon, "Yes, that was when I first joined the group. I walked through some sort of portal with some friends and ended up here from very far away..."
When they arrive at the sculpture of the dragon, Garret gets so excited, he almost falls off the dragon. He yells out and points, "Look, look there! That's me! See me on top of that dragon? See, I told you!"
He keeps narrating the story parts that he remembers to the dragon carrying him, assuming the dragon wants to know a lot about where they have been and what they have done. You know, as terrifying as that was, you have to hand it to him. He not only had an amazing plan and a trap filled labyrinth, but that guy had style... disturbing as it was. Living zombie booby traps, decoy bulette guard statues in the shadows, he even used his own body as a trap.
Beri shakes his head, it's fun to look back now but he can't remember a time where he'd been more paranoid... but is it really paranoia when literally everything is a trap?

Although his training as an Avenger has helped him to gain perfect control of his emotions, he can still feel the rising to the surface and threatening to overwhelm him. Pride. Honor. Everything the minotaur culture stands for exemplified in this one event. His father would be proud, if he was still alive, but at last he returned honor to his family name. Now all that remains is to kill a certain someone and his father's spirit can rest in peace.
When Beri speaks to him he smiles. Do you realize that as of today we have left a legacy for our children's children's children? They will be recruited to adventuring parties and turned to for guidance in the face of adversity. A hundred years from now children will ask to hear the tales of Beri the Brave or the one with the Grim Avenger.
After a moment of seriousness he looks at the relief of the Iron Adventurer's taking on the MindFlayer. Remember when the bartender refused to pay us for stopping the mindflayer until I dropped its rotting head on the bar? That changed his mind quick enough.

Beri calls out to Bosk about the zombies and being possessed by the evil wizard. He expresses admiration for the wizards plan with the trap filled labyrinth. He remembers how he was never more paranoid than when he was in that labyrinth.
Bosk smiles as the group flies from location to location. He feels a sense of pride in their accomplishment. When Beri calls out to him he smiles and explains that the sculptures mean that their children and grand children will be legacy heroes in their own right. He then reminds the druid of the time he dropped the mindflayer head with the barkeep in order to convince him to pay up.
Sesha takes in the amazing ride herself. Although only present in a few sculptures she feels she has made a decent mark and notes the Khar Avon as being particularly special to her.
The dragons circle back to the Iron Square and allow the Iron Dragons to dismount. By this time the crowds have regathered and Joe Hand standing all alone on the raised platform starts casting spells.
It is truly a treat as there is something different about this caster. He just seems to exert an aura of untamed power.
He summons illusions of magical beasts combined with evocations combining the various elements to create quite the light show.
He then pulls a tube from behind his back and plants it in a divet in the stage. He casts a small flame spell and lights the fuse on the tube. The tube itself launches its payload into the sky before exploding. When the smoke clears there is an Iron Dragon flying overhead making multiple passes over the crowd before it too dissipates like the previous illusions he summoned directly.

It is hard to see at first and it is glowing as it gradually gets closer. A stream of molten iron flows up and out of the chasm pooling at the base of the stage. The molten metal gradually accumulates and Joe gesticulates while the metal gradually starts to take form. It appears to be a 6 part statue diorama. In the first scene the group is fighting the Linnorm, In the second scene the group is fighting the gate guardian, in the 3rd scene the group is interacting with the Satyrs, in the 4th scene the group is fleeing from Fae Skiemir, in the 5th scene the group is before the It'tal council and in the last scene it is a recreation of the celebration the group just witnessed. The molten statue still glows orange until Joe gesticulates again and an icy wind materializes transitioning the statue from glowing orange to the blackness of iron.
He then makes a shooing gesture and the chasm closes. He bows to the Iron Dragons visibly strained by the last exhibition.

As grandiose as all this is, Sesha is beginning to feel the weight of responsibility settle down on her shoulders. A feeling of, "What's next?".
To become a member of the consortium was an honor few would ever know, but with that came the responsibility of keeping the world on it's rails. Then there was all their own personal quests and issues. Sesha had largely solved hers, but in order to really put the world on their backs.. they probably should have all their own loose ends wrapped up.
She squeezes Restlins hand and whispers to him.
"Are we really ready for this? Helping others is one thing. Living a life in service to them is quite another. I can justify it, because you live for being a hero and I've pledged to keep you safe, so it's natural for me to be here for your sake as well. But some of us have demons to wrestle down before we can finally take that last step. Like Bosk. Can we really ask him to set aside his search for his parents killer so that he can spend his life for the greater good of the consortium?"

[DM Hugh] - Creating A Castle Sunday October 23rd, 2016 3:18:39 PM Tink tries to figure out how she should react to Joe Hands final exhibition but decides to just enjoy the moment.
Garrett gets ready to elbow Tink again but just ends up standing there with his mouth agape too.
Sesha was trying to figure out what Joe was doing as his magic seems to be foreign to her. She quietly slips her hand into Restlin's.
Restlin gives his opinion on the impressive display to know one in particular than flashes Sesha a "you seeing this?" look.
Zane agrees with Restlin pointing out how in magic size does not matter. The taur is also starting to feel overloaded by what is going on.
Beri expects to see a lava monster crawl from the chasm but is pleasantly surprised as the artistic rendition starts taking shape. The druid cheers as the wind hardens the statue.
Bosk expects the chasm to also call them to battle but is relieved to only see Joe Hand's artistic prowess. He expresses his appreciation.
Sesha begins to feel the heaviness of the responsibility settling on her shoulders. She voices her doubts to Restlin while she squeezes his hand resolved to use divination in her future.
"I almost forgot." Joe said, "A dragon group needs a home."
He pulls forth three items. The first item is a map of Hook city and the surrounding environs. The second is a feathered pen and the third is a lump of clay. There are tendrils of magical energy flowing between the magical items.
"Please indicate on the map where you would like your castle to be. Then use the clay to mold how you would like the castle to look. You will find that the clay is influenced by your thoughts so that any lacking of artistic ability on your part will be made up for with magic."
Joe holds the items out to the group. "After the castle is complete we can finish the festivities in celebration of the new Dragon Group at the Giggling Ghost. All our invited." (OOC: Festivities start on Monday)

He looks around. "Not much room in Iron Square for a whole castle..."...or is there? Is there room in the square for a castle?
Bosk AC: Hasted (38/19/33) CMD: (34) hp 119/119 Spells Sunday October 23rd, 2016 8:21:06 PM ooc: Please note that after The Great Migration Hook City rotated 90* counter clockwise. North in Hook City is really East for the Southern Continent, but the city kept the original references after the great migration because no one wanted to correct the maps or their way of thinking. Also note that Mudtown has reloated to become 3 Mile which is 3 miles away. In reference to the continent, North and East are oceans with our ports being North (Sargrass / East on the Hook City Map). South (West on the Hook Map) is Ice Vein and West (North on Hook City map ) is Gateway Downs.
Bosk nods in agreement. I think we like our current location. If you think about it, The Iron Tower of the Iron Adventurers stands alone in the middle of a medium-sized square. It is downriver of the Bridge which is clearly visible only a ½ mile away, and situated on the border between LaborTown and SouthHook. Quite fortuitous, really, as the mercantile activities of LaborTown is full of activities that provide information and are also full of people who will trade in gold as well as the magical chits of Hook City. And from the South Hook precinct, the group has access to the constablatory, magistrates, and the respectability which comes of living in Hook City itself.
The square itself is bordered by shop/homes where the street level is of one shop or another and the upper floors are the home of the crafters, merchants, and traders who run the shops. At first, the square was nearly deserted because of the events of the Haunted (Iron) Tower. Yet the Iron Adventurers have caused this neighborhood to revive, and several new families have moved in with their own businesses. In fact, once per week, an open market occurs in the square, with vendors of all sorts vying for the attention of any passersby. I think this is the perfect spot with perfect neighbors, and we would be proud to keep our location here.
As for designing our castle, there are areas we do not wish to be changed or disturbed...can we leave those places as is? (All IA know what secret place I am talking about, with epic level protection created by retired DC members). (We are the corner becteen 5,6, and 8 on The Hook City Map)

Sesha forces her more grim thoughts aside.
"If we have full leeway here, I'd like to move my room underground, if possible. Having a cavern floor underfoot is reassuring to me. Having a several feet of earth on top of me would be even better."

I don't have the same fancy for roughing it through thunderstorms that he did. I would prefer a small shelter be added with room enough for a bed, a small desk, and a closet to keep my gear in... oh, and the stairs. No reason to track mud down into the kitchen each morning.
Bosk AC: Hasted (38/19/33) CMD: (34) hp 119/119 Spells Monday October 24th, 2016 9:45:47 PM
Bosk shrugs at Tink's suggestion. Those hooks were created by the Teucri, so it might not be able to duplicate. However, if he can it would be a cool idea. If not, we could always keep the main floor of the tower and build the whole thing straight up and down under ground rather than just having a tower.
[DM Hugh] - Creating A Castle d12=1 ; Monday October 24th, 2016 11:40:35 PM Restlin opines that he has grown fond of the Tower and its location and asks if there is room in the square for a castle.
Bosk nods in agreement about liking their current location and explains at length its benefit however expresses concerns for their neighbors.
Tink questions if the castle could be built below ground or if it could float using the Teucri Hooks.
Garrett thinks about how he'd rather wander than countryside than reside in a castle before his thoughts turn to a certain halfling woman.
Sesha also responds that she would like an underground room as well.
Zane talks about increasing the size of the tower, suggesting everyone can have their own 2 floors of rooms and the rooftop garden.
Beri says that he would like to move into the rooftop garden but that he would like stairs and a shelter added.
Bosk shrugs in regards to the Tuecri hooks and just points out that b/c the Teucri built them that might not be an option.
"Sadly the Teucri technology is beyond the abilities of the artifacts." Joe Hand answers, "but a larger Iron Tower with underground chambers and an expanded top gardens is doable.
"Just circle the Iron Tower on the map and then wait for the clay to take the shape of the current Iron Tower and you can mold the larger tower w/ basement and expanded gardens. Heck if you wanted to go crazy you could even turn the Tower into a lighthouse or give it a decorative carved head. A castle is what you make of it and a large tower with an underground keep fits the definition."
Joe bows and lets the Iron Dragons get on with finalizing the new design.

As the group considers creating the tower, Garret says, "Since it is magical, it should fit the area. Maybe we could make some hooks near the top so it looks like it is being held up with hooks, too. And the top could be wider than the bottom."
"Oh, and make sure there is a large kitchen, too!"

"Two great ideas, Garret."
He focuses on the lump of clay, forming it to look like the current tower. He imagines a perfect grotto for Sesha below the tower, imagining a natural limestone cavern with rough floors, reachable only by a staircase that spirals downwards, slowly losing its ornateness until it's just rough steps at the bottom. "Just a start dear, I'm sure you'll have your own touches."
He makes a huge kitchen, complete with a bar suitable for seating anything from taurs to gnomes.
He fashions a grand balcony overlooking the square, free floating and held up by hooks and chains/cables mirroring those of the city's namesake.
He makes the whole tower taller, giving each Iron Dragon two whole floors to play with. Then, he steps back. "Well, there's a good start. Who's next?"

Zane (JCC) AC 36 (37), CMB 16, CMD 33, HP 151/190, Character Tuesday October 25th, 2016 1:32:31 PM
Zane makes a few suggestions.... "On my floor, maybe we can add that stern walk, but how about all the way around the tower and move my room up near the top of the tower. And underground, why not make a few floors, one with an entrance for a wagon, you never know what we may need, and a underground stable and a bunch of rooms to be used as workshops as well as a trophy room. If we can make what we want, and most of it underground, we may as well think way far ahead. We are also going to need people to maintain the "Castle" too, so we need quarters for them. And we should also arrange indoor plumbing on each floor. Oh, and add a chimney that runs the full height with access on every level."
Bosk AC: Hasted (38/19/33) CMD: (34) hp 119/119 Spells Tuesday October 25th, 2016 4:59:10 PM
Book nods. I like the idea of the roof being a sanctuary for every, and protection from invaders, .which leads me to thinking...is your magic capable of rotating the floors every day? I think everyone would like the top floor from time to time, and I think it would be symbolic of our group having no one person on top.
As for the balconies, I think a large balcony suspended by hooks would look grand on every level. (This is the size I picture for Beri's garden. balcony, which I think is a good compromise)
As the topics of people to maintain the castle, a bar and a larger kitchen come up the Horned Cleric laughs to himself. The group's kitchen is already larger than most houses and there 5 guest / servant quarters and a well stocked bar, though he suspects there will be more visitors in the coming days as well as spouses and children in the not too distant future.
I think having a floor (or two) each is a grand idea. If we build the whole castle straight up instead of just the tower we will have plenty of room to grow. I suppose thicker walls are a must for a castle. Iron is a bit dark for such a grand city, but iron enchanted no to rust strengthening and adorning the castle would give the right affect. Perhaps a marble like our current tower...
After a bit more thought he adds, I would like a statue made in the courtyard to memorialize those in our group who passes away or who helped us on our way, but retired prior to joining the D.C. I would also like a few of our trophies put out as decoration. (Bosk brought back and bronzed one enemy in particular thinking it would make an interesting sentry)
Beriothian -- AC:33/18/30 HP: 112/177 CMD = 22 Tuesday October 25th, 2016 6:25:16 PM ...let's keep talk about that vault for in private. I'm fine with keeping the rooftop public, but I would still prefer my room to be similar to that of a druid's garden. How about we try this... Underneath the rooftop garden Beri glides the clay from the waterfall into his room, gently filling a small koi pond.
And a paper privacy screen to one side where I can put my adventuring gear behind... perfect!
[DM Hugh] - Creating A Castle Tuesday October 25th, 2016 11:56:08 PM Tink circles the Iron Tower with the feather pen and gazes at the Ring on Joe's hand wondering when the Iron Dragons will get one.
Garrett suggests that the top be wider than the bottom since it is magic and maybe make hooks near the top. The halfling also presses for a larger kitchen area.
Restlin gives Garrett praise for his ideas. He then starts working on the lump of clay. He imagines a perfect grotto for Sesha with a spiral staircase. He makes a huge kitchen with seating that can fit anyone from the tiniest halfling to the largest Taur. He fashions a grand balcony overlooking the square with hooks and chains. He then makes the tower taller before stepping back from the clay.
Sesha beams at Restlin and is happy with his grotto.
Zane suggests a stern walk for his floor and all away around the tower. He also suggests making floors under ground with an entrance for wagons, stables, workshops and trophy rooms. He also suggest quarters for the staff, indoor plumbing and a chimney.
Bosk likes the idea of the roof being a sanctuary and asks if the order of the floors can rotate. Bosk also suggests hooked balconies on each floor. He laughs at the kitchen and then suggests growing the castle straight up instead of just the tower. He also suggests making the substance of the tower in either marble or enchanted iron that will not rust. He also suggests a statue garden to have statues of former people they adventured with and maybe some of their trophies.
Beri suggests making the vault talk private and then is fine keeping the rooftop public. He suggests both a koi pond with a waterfall and a privacy screen.
Joe notices both Tink's interest in the ring and the question about the shifting rooms. "The magic can rearrange the rooms on a rotating basis," Joe answers.
"As for the rings, you will get them at the afterparty."
Does the castle require any more changes?

[DM Hugh] - Creating A Castle Wednesday October 26th, 2016 11:55:02 PM Garrett requests a large pantry to go with the large kitchen before perking up at the idea of an afterparty.
Restlin argues against the idea of hooked balconies on each floor as it will look to busy.
Sesha frowns at the mention of the consortium rings asking about their magical nature and if an earring could allow her to wear another magic ring.
Zane seems less than enthused about the party but resigns himself to attend it.
Beri realizes he is going to be late to the party lamenting the fact that as a druid he is running on forest time. Beri makes the case for a comfortable parlour to entertain guests in with a large fireplace and comfy chairs.
Tink smiles at the prospect of magic jewelry and thinks to herself what would happen if Restlin gave Sesha yet another ring.
The model takes on the changes advocated dropping the multi-tiered balconies but keeping the single grand balcony. Adding both a pantry and parlour as well.
Joe says, "Don't forget your room that will contain the teleportation circle." Joe advises, "I think once that is added it just may be complete. You know you could always work the clay into some sort of mechanism that would allow you to make future minor alterations, just a suggestion."
