Bosk stops by the catacombs and then visits the Red Wyrm and some other major landmarks just to say he was there. The Grim Avenger is easily recognized and he ends up getting many party invitations as it appears that the Lord High Mayor isn't the only one who thinks a visit from the newest Dragon Group a good excuse for a party. He notices the children are running in the streets with action figures of the different Iron Dragons and the cleric even hears that Scalzo's Circus has started a special show revolving around the adventures of the Iron Dragons. As the Red Wyrm Inn was in the Dragon Quarter he also had time to stop by The Adventurer’s Repose, The Green Tortoise Club, Jazz’s Comfortable Emportium, Finlon Vod’s Party House, The Golden Griffon, and the Beer and Bath. He manages to secure a bottle of red ale from the Red Wyrm called red dragon's fire ale, a bottle of bourbon barrel aged imperial stout from the Golden Griffon called the tipsy griffon, a bottle of something called an India Pale Ale from Jazz's Comfortable Emporium (which supposedly the recipe for the brew came from another world), a porter from the Beer and Bath called the cleaner, a saison from The Adventurer's Repose called Open Saison, a witbier from Finlon Vlod's party house known as the kegger and hefeweizen from The Green Tortoise Club named Pond Water, which is a misnomer as it tastes nothing like a pond. He manages to find the entrance to the catacombs and returns to the high lord mayor's castle via a different path out of the catacomb's that leaves there. Bosk then packs up his stuff and prepares to leave.
Beri watches Restlin take a handful of items then reflects upon how Warrd looks out for his followers hoping that Restlin's decision is a blessing and not a curse.
Restlin thanks his host and then pulls aside a the most attentive servant. The servant he finds is a matronly woman wearing immaculate livery with a twinkle in her eye and a rosy complexion. "Aye, m'lord your belongings will be where you left 'em when you get back or I will personally tan anyone's hide that tries otherwise. She pulls a necklace of Warrd's moon out from under her color and says seems like a fortuitous start to your quest that you found a fellow follower to guard your things. I will put the word out that it is particularly bad luck to risk taking a Mendicant's possessions while they are on a luck quest."
Sesha watches the exchange with the servant and then asks Restlin what a luck quest is finding it odd to leave perfectly good items behind.
As the group is ushered out the door Garrett notes how there exit from Plateau City is significantly different than their entrance and he looks out the window as their carriage speeds to the docks. Once on ship and below decks he also finds a spot by a port hole so he can again see outside.
Beri thanks the captain for having them and then goes below decks out of the way.
Zane offers his services to the captain. "I thank you for your offer Master Stormfront. I will keep your offer in mind and we can shall see what happens once we are away from prying eyes." the captain says.
Beri's observation of Warrd being with them may perhaps be true and the Shrieking Eel manages to make it about half the distance to your destination after a day of sailing.
The Iron Dragon's are allowed to leave the hold after a few hours and you see some dolphins swimming along side the ship and some seagulls in the air.
Restlin trips over a coil of rope while moving from below decks. He goes to free his foot and he finds what appears to be some fine metallic dust stored in a bone tube.
The captain asks Zane to man the crow's nest.

Tink walks around the vessel examining the ropes. She's far too small to be able to tie them any tighter, but when she spots something loose she points it out. If she is able to lend a hand in any way though, she does.

Beri sees the dolphins playing and the seagulls flying and decides it's may be a good time to ask questions of the sea multitude of creatures around. He judges that anything that had been scared off from the island would consider this a safe distance away, and from the wildlife already here the habitat must be a hospitable and friendly, and one they would be likely to relocate to.
Does anyone have a small fish or two I could borrow, or a loaf of bread perhaps? If there is something going on at that island I'm sure they will be happy to tell us of their own accord, but I find a little food goes a long way in making friends.
Beri will cast Speak with animals and will see if any of the seagulls have seen anything on the island or of what happened to the missing ships, and will ask the dolphins whether they have seen the wreckage below the water. He will ask about known dangers in the area, possible traps, and just of general changes in the area lately.

He spends all his time staring out into the water and trying to see what is beneath the surface. When Beri mentions talking to the animals, he hangs around to see what they will say and to listen to them talk to Beri.

Restlin looks at Sesha like her head's on backwards. "Wait a minute. You're going to make me, a Mendicant, your chosen dude and you don't know what a luck quest is? Lady, I have failed you..." He starts talking about the intricacies of a luck quest. "It's not so much trusting that Wardd will take care of you, cause he won't. He's the god of luck, not the god of good luck. It's about testing yourself and using luck, good and bad, to your advantage. Weird stuff tends to happen on luck quests, and it's my job to..."
He stops talking as he falls. Looking, he finds the strange tube. "Case in point," he continues as he inspects his find.

Regardless, Restlin spends his first day at sea doing as little as possible. He'll cast mage armor & overland flight at the first hint of danger; Wardd didn't see fit to send Restlin on this quest with his extend magic rod, so he's saving them.

Bosk looks at Restlin's tube. Unless I miss my guess, that is either Dust of Appearance Dust of Disappearance. I may not be a Mendicant, but I am willing to bet on this ones luck. I take this to mean luck wants you to hide or uncover something, and as a betting man I take that as a sign that it would be wise to prepare spells like farie fire, glitter dust and invisibility.

Sesha ponders the relationship necessary with your god to just leave your stuff behind. If Serenbeth ordered it, she'd do the same. She was glad her consort was able to place the same amount of faith in something greater.
"I think that's a commendable exercise mage-priest. I wish you the best!"
With a thumbs up, she turns her attention to the strange creatures in the water. She had heard about dolphins and knew what they were. She had never seen them up close before.
A quick spellcast later, and she's into the water, polymorphed into a dark skinned dolphin, swimming with the rest of them.

[DM Hugh] - The voyage of the Shrieking Eel Tuesday February 7th, 2017 9:32:52 PM Tink walks around the Eel inspecting the ropes and lending a hand in any way possible. She complements the captain on his vessel. "Aye, that she is." The captain replies and then one of the mates offers her a mop and invites her to join some of the crew in swabbing the deck.
Beri notices the dolphins and the seagulls and asks if anyone has some fish or bread to help encourage the animals to cooperate with his question. One of the deck hands, a strapping lad of about 17 years of age with scraggly hair and some peach fuzz emerges from the galley with some sardines and what essentially amounts to some crackers. "Here you go, sir." The lad says handing the foodstuffs to Beri.
Garret who had been watching the water for most of the trip so far joins the lad in watching Beri cast his spell and attempt to communicate with the animals.
Upon presenting the offering of the crackers and calling out to them, some of the gulls start landing on the deck near where Beri is.

All anyone else hears is the squawking of the gulls. After a little bit of time Beri manages to settle the birds down enough to get them to attempt to answer his questions.

The druid then turns his attention to the dolphins and he asks them about any wrecks in the area as well as any recent changes.

"eEeEeEeEeEeEeEeEeEeE" is what everyone else hears.
Meanwhile Restlin starts explaining the intricacies of a luck quest to his lover only to be interrupted as an odd bit of luck comes his way and he finds the dust containing tube.
Bosk suggests the contents of the tube is either Dust of Appearance or Dust of Disappearance and suggests Warrd is trying to tell them to cast spells that are similar to the effects of either dust then Restlin's own orison and his knowledge of spellcraft confirms that the Dust is indeed a tube of Dust of Disappearance.
Zane heads up to the crow's nest and asks over the ring for lunch to be sent up as he figures he will be there for a while.
Sesha ponders Restlin's luck quest and comes to the conclusion that if Serenbeth ordered her to leave gear behind she would and is glad that her consort puts his faith in something greater as well. She wishes her consort well and then joins the dolphin's at play in the water.
After the questioning the gulls return the sky though one of them does leave droppings on Restlin. (Reflex Save DC 12 to avoid getting soiled by gull poo)
The rest of the day passes uneventful and Zane is spelled in the nest by a crew member. The Iron Dragons are invited to sleep on Hammocks as the ship will sail throughout the night.

Tink almost collapses under the weight of the mop. Her tiny frame isn't capable of holding the medium sized mop. Still, she doesn't want to appear weak, or snobby to these sailors "Sure!" Tink casts an Unseen Servant spell, and directs it to swab the deck
"It will swab the decks for the next 17 hours" she proudly declares "Perhaps the Captain might give you some well deserved rest in the mean time"
She is happy to take a rest as soon as possible. With her Ring of Sustenance she only requires 2hrs rest anyway. Tink plans on swapping out one of her spells during her rest.
Afterwards she will venture onto the deck of the ship to keep the night crew company.

Beri thanks his new friend for the information as the wander away notices Garret's puzzled face. He shares the details with him. At dinner he tells the rest of the ID what he found out.
Well, we know that it's dangerous. The seagulls tell me that birds tend to disappear around that island, so there is something or someone there. And the dolphins report it's a place that they avoid, but that there is a charred wreck in the waters. It could be there are casters using fire based attacks to take out ships? And since nobody has seen the dangers, including the survey ships and these animals, it's possible they are camouflaged somehow. I'll prepare more talk to animal spells for tomorrow, we probably won't get any new details until actually on the island, but it's first level spell so it's not a problem to prepare one or two.

He smiles. "Besides," he starts as he begins to walk, "I choose my spells at random on a luck quest." A seagull dropping falls right where he was the second before (Reflex: 34 - a wasted nat20, humbug).
The Mendicant makes no effort to chip in with the duties of the ship, but he does make it a point to introduce himself to everyone. His demeanor is pleasant. He knows that people who think well of him have good luck in his presence...

Sesha helps prepare dinner, via her Hero's Feast spell.
You bring forth a great feast, including a magnificent table, chairs, service, and food and drink. The feast takes 1 hour to consume, and the beneficial effects do not set in until this hour is over. Every creature partaking of the feast is cured of all sickness and nausea, receives the benefits of both neutralize poison and remove disease, and gains 1d8 temporary hit points + 1 point per two caster levels (maximum +10) after imbibing the nectar-like beverage that is part of the feast. The ambrosial food grants each creature that partakes a +1 morale bonus on attack rolls and Will saves and a +4 morale bonus on saving throws against poison and fear effects for 12 hours.
If the feast is interrupted for any reason, the spell is ruined and all effects of the spell are negated.
Sesha rolled +18 HP for the part for the next 24 hours.

He'll spend most of the time limbering up, having gotten a little cramped in the crows nest. When the feast is served, he takes his share, "Thanks Sesha"
[DM Hugh] - The voyage of the Shrieking Eel Wednesday February 8th, 2017 11:21:43 PM Tink puts up a strong front in the face of the broom that is too big for her. She perseveres in helping the crew by giving the broom to an unseen servant thus freeing them up to do other things.
Beri thanks his new animal friends for the information and then shares what he has learned with Garret.
Garrett clapped and cheered while Beri was talking to the animals and then nods sagely when Beri explains to him what they said.
Zane laughs at the antics of his friends with birds and the dolphins.
Restlin explains more about a luck quest and how luck is different from divination. He also points out that the dust could be someone else's lucky break and that he randomly prepares spells while on a luck quest. Speaking of luck, the Mendicant easily avoids the bird droppings and then pleasantly socializes with the crew. The sailors being a superstitious lot seem happy to have the mage priest on board.
Sesha casts a spell and prepares a glorious feast via a spell.
Everyone gathers for the feast and the information that the animals shared as well as any potential watches are discussed. Garrett says he is willing to take a watch but questions if it is needed considering that there is crew on duty.
Zane takes the first watch and at the end of it when he goes to turn in he is spelled by Tink who doesn't need much rest thanks to her ring. She is joined by Bosk for the final watch.
The night passes uneventfully and the sun dawns on the second day of your journey. At around mid day the Eel weighs anchor and the captain says, "We are about 40 leagues from Farpoint Island. We are on the edge of the waters where ships have reportedly gone missing. Are you ready to use the scrolls Father Eorcenbald gave you? We could take you a little closer but if the island is expecting ships maybe flyers could slip by unnoticed?"

In the morning, Garret yawns and lets one rip before he climbs out of his hammock. He smiles and nods at anyone else that is awake. He wanders out towards the deck and tumbles when the deck tilts, easily landing on his feet. He heads up the stairs and looks out over the water.
When the captain explains they are near the island, he looks out into the water in all directions, trying to see the island. He wonders how they will fly to the island if they can't see it. And then he wonders how they will find the ship once they have found the island and, well, whatever they find ON the island...

Bosk nods in agreement. Garret is right, what ever awaits us awaits us on the island. Once spells are prepared I suggest we head out. My recommendation is to move forward slightly spread out so that we cannot all be targeted by a single fireball. That torched ship is concerning...some fire protection might not be a bad idea.

Sesha considers the odds of going undetected on a long flight to the island. They probably aren't good.
"Anyways we can get there underwater?"
Sesha pulls out a small card with some numbers on it one of the WLA folks made for her.
"40 leagues is.. 140 miles? Overland flight would take us 8 hours to get there. I suggest we cast the spell and head off in the right direction as best we can using Shadow Walk. That would get us there in under 3 hours, not accounting for time spent off course, which is bound to happen. Still, we would be within a mile of the target or less, and could visually navigate from there."
(I'll let the DM roll any shunt off target if the group takes this path.)

Beri looks out into the water to see if there are any dolphins or gulls out at this time. If so he will ask them them about the surroundings and possible dangers. Otherwise the druid is ready to head out.
Keep an eye out for shadows on the water or unnatural wave patterns, things could be hidden from view but waiting for us.

We know the general direction, so we probably won't get very far off the mark. As to under water, a few of us have the weave we wear that gives us water breathing. And Captain, endangering your boat, would gain us nothing. We appreciate your getting us this close, as to waiting around for our return, there really is not much need as we can arrange our own exit in which we may or may not be returning to Plateau City. If we don't return, we will be at least sending a message informing the High Lord Mayor of the results of our investigation. If you would be so kind as to inform his Honor, we would be thankful."
Over the link, "It seems someone forgot we can always teleport directly back to our tower with the rings link to it, and I expect the High Lord Mayor will hear of our possibly not returning to Plateau City in just a few minutes, but giving the Captain the Message will make him feel it is important and possibly an ally in the future if we need one." Zane extends his wings and makes ready to fly with the rest of the "fliers" when they leave either by shadow or not....

Tink will spend some time in the morning, copying the scroll Bosk purchased for her into her spellbook. Afterwards she approaches Sesha "Would you be able to help me cast a few spells as part of the coven?" It's the first time Tink will have tried casting a spell as part of Sesha's blood coven, so is both a little exited and apprehensive at the same time.
It does mean she will have cast two 6th level spells, leaving her a little under-prepared for the rest of the day. Still, better to be a little under-prepared than to lose all her possession from a disjunction spell.

[DM Hugh] - Air Raid Thursday February 9th, 2017 9:41:38 PM Garrett wakes the morning, greeting the day with loud flatulence. He smiles at the crew members as they go about their chores and tumbles when the deck tilts. After the ship stops he ponders being near the island when there is no land in sight, how they will find the island, how they will return to the ship and what exactly is waiting for them on the island.
Restlin saves his copy of the overland flight scroll opting to use the version of the scroll he prepared. He assures the captain that there is no need to risk the crew further and asks Zane if he can find the island. He then thanks the captain and crew for getting them there.
Bosk also wonders what is on the island, seconding Garrett's concerns. He recommends setting out once everyone is ready with spell prep and such. He advises using a spread formation so that the group can't all be hit by a single fire ball.
Sesha asks if there is any chance the group could make it to the island underwater. She pulls out a handy reference card the folks at the WLA made and runs some numbers. She suggests using the shadow lands as a short cut once everyone is flying to cut down on the time it will take to reach the island.
Beri looks for wild life to question, but alas no animals appear to be near the boat. He keeps an eye out for anything hidden beneath the waves.
Zane like Restlin also eschews the scroll opting to use his powerful dragon wings instead. He points out that not everyone in the group can travel underwater and then also thanks the captain and crew for the risk they took. He tasks them with informing the high lord mayor that they may not return to Plateau City but they will provide him the results of the investigation. He then sends over the link that they forgot their dragon rings will allow them to return to their castle and that Sturtavent probably already knows not to expect them, but this gives the captain something to do them a potential ally in the future.
Tink copies the spell Bosk purchased into her spell book. She then approaches Sesha and asks her to help her cast some spells in a blood coven circle. The casters form up and Tink expends 2 6th level spell slots giving herself some contingent protection against a disjunction.
The group uses five of the scrolls provided by Eorcenbald as Zane and Restlin have alternate means of flight. As suggested by Bosk the groups spreads out and begins the journey towards the island.

And the water would be the point they most heavily watch for people approaching. Being a mile off course could work in our benefit as well since anybody watching for an approach based on safe shipping routes would be focusing on the wrong area of the beach when we pop out. Beri listens to the others voice their thoughts and scans the sky, sea, and coast for signs they have been seen.

The casting is successful, barely. Even with all her experience, gear, and techniques with casting magic while armored, it was still a struggle when the ley lines weren't easily available.
The group is guided as best as possible towards their destination. In the dark gloom, skimming over the water of the shadow realm, she tries her best to remain positive about the rest of the day. After almost 3 hours, she comes to a stop, and releases the spell. There is a forceful push, and they scatter east by 700ft.

[DM Hugh] - Landing at Farpoint 2d6=9 ; Saturday February 11th, 2017 5:47:15 PM Beri expresses the opinion that there is no reason the group doesn't take the shortcut through the shadow lands. He reasons the shortcut and arriving at an unusual spot may work to their advantage and the keeps an eye out for signs they were spotted.
Restlin is in agreement about the shadow walk shortcut. He also makes the others aware of his dust of disappearance, urging the others to gather around him when they get close to landing so they can hopefully set down stealthily.
Garret does some aerial acrobatics and waves to the crew still on the ship. He too is for the shadow idea as things are different there.
Tink also is in agreement about the shadow route and then flies to the point position 40 feet ahead of the others.
Zane positions himself 30 feet above the others in a covering position, thinking from a distance his wings will make him look like some sort of flying creature.
Bosk thinks the shadow route is the best but opts to cast protection / resist energy just in case.
Sesha gathers everyone together and after a struggle manages to cast the spell as the ley lines in this particular part of the ocean were weak.
The group skims over the dark water of the shadow realm in the dark gloom. There is no sign of other creatures as you fly for the most part in shadowy eerie silence. It would appear the sea creatures in the shadow realms prefer the deep dark parts of their oceans. After about 3 hours Sesha dismisses the shadow walk spell and you end up scattered 700 feet east of Farpoint Island.
The group closes the distance so that they are 600 feet out from the island and then they gather around Restlin while he sprinkles everyone with his dust.
Everyone disappears and they fly down invisibly towards the island but when they are 30 feet from landing the dust wears off and they are forced to visibly land on the island.
It appears you have reach Farpoint Island without being detected but from where you landed their isn't much to be seen besides rocks and lichen.

Garret looks around while in the shadow realm and keeps his eyes open for anything exciting. He swoops and dives when he thinks he sees something, and is disappointed when he does not. Eventually he gets bored because there is nothing to see. He grabs on to Restlin's cloak and lets himself get pulled along and wonders when the next meal will be.
When the land, Garret looks around and hears Tink say that she will check the area. While she does, Garret checks out the rocks and the ground. He looks for some seashells on the ground and picks up a few small rocks to see if there is anything living under them.

Sesha let's Tink do her search, takes a breath and asks if anyone wants a cantrip.
Garret checks out the rocks and the ground looking for seashells. He picks up some rocks looking for any insects living underneath them.
Restlin lets tink scout around the area while searching around himself activating lucky find. Restlin finds a burlap sack with a hole in it containing about 1/10 of a pound of iron (OOC: valued at 1 cp)
Beri says that his size is good but opts to turn into a dwarf in case dark vision might come in handy for checking a cave or something.
Zane lands on the rocky beach, folding his wings but not making them vanish. He remains wary being prepared to interpose himself between Sesha in Restlin in the event of any threat.

It takes Tink roughly 4 minutes to assay the area and report back to the group. She didn't find anything of interest save for more rocks and lichen. The group was just ready to move forward when Tink turns her gaze skyward and looks up to see 8 half-elves on red Dragonkin mounts in two groups of 4 flying towards them about 220 feet out from where the Iron Dragons are gathered. Bosk looks up and tries to figure out how long the group has until the riders close the gap. He figures based on the fliers speed they will be on them within 6 seconds. He then casts fly from a scroll and determines that these dragon kin have a fire based breathe attack being red in color.
Sesha warns the others on summoning and then has pot-pot bolster her defenses before getting ready to counter the first hostile spell cast.
The first wave of dragon riders goes on a strafing run advancing 160 feet towards the Iron Dragons while the mounted half-elves attempt to rain cones of cold down on our heroes.
Sesha counters the lead rider's spell but the other 3 riders successfully cast. 3 Cones of cold bombard our heroes. (35 cold damage; DC 20 half) (31 cold damage DC 20 half) (35 cold damage DC 20 half)
The second wave of dragon riders approach to within 100 feet and they are all holding scrolls. 2 of the dragon riders cast from the scrolls targetting the summon spells that Beri and Restlin are casting but bot the druid and the mendicant castings are stronger than the spells.(CL 25 means beats 14th level and CL 18 means beats 7th level CL so both fail) The other 2 have more luck and squelch the summoning of the Azata and Elementals (CL 31 = beats CL 20 and CL 35 means beats CL 24)

Restin ducks and weaves through the cones, avoiding much of it but still getting a bit frostbitten (all reflex saves pass).
He knows a greater dispel when he sees one (spellcraft: 31), but figures they can't counter what they don't see being cast. He flies over to a nearby crag to get some cover and out of sight. He grips his holy symbol, hoping he can hurry through what he's about to do.

Garret sees the cones of cold before they are launched and he quickly moves behind a rock to avoid them. He will then fly up and attempt to take an angle to intercept the strafing riders, going for a quick slam to try and take out a rider.

Sesha grimaces as the cones of cold wash over her. She was glad she didn't waste the time summoning help, the Sisters would have been immediately wiped out by those attacks. She stands her ground for now, and sends a quick reminder through the link of her coven.

Sesha points at Garret.
"Don't forget about your overland flight spell, little monk! Go get em!"
For her own part, she tries to take some of the fight from the enemy. She targets the first group with a confusion spell, hitting the whole diamond formation.

Zane manages to weave his way between the waves of cold as they wash over the area where the group is standing avoiding all of them, maybe not as easily as Garret, but then again, he is 3 times his size. Zane charges the furthest formation, he spreads his wings and takes flight. (90' normal speed, so 180' charge speed) He attempts to grapple the first one he reaches. Using his legs to scissor the dragon and cause it's wings to become useless and fall, possibly landing on it's rider and killing him.

Sesha sends out a reminder over the link that the dragon-kin are immune to paralysis and sleep. She then points at Garret and encourages him before targetting the diamond formation with confusion.
2 of the half-elves resist the spell, the other half-elves and all 4 dragon-kin become confused.
Zane flies up and grapples the first dragon-kin he comes across. Bosk drives the dragon-kin to the ground (taking 20 fall damage), but the rider remains in the air independent of its mount.
Bosk advances towards the riders.
The first half-elf fly lunges at Garret growing claws but both swipes miss the nimble monk. (OOC: ruling rider bond is like familiar so dragon-kin rider pairs count as 1 creature for confusion)
The second half-elf attempts to cast a spell but gets knocked back 15 feet diagonally, however he remains flying. The half-elf is able to maintain concentration despite being knocked off the mount (using disrupted rules) and fires off a quickened magic missile at Garret. 5 missiles of force slam into Garret (22 damage). He then follows up with a spell [spellcraft DC: 20 Highlight to display spoiler: {feeblemind} ) targetting Sesha.

The third half-elf also hits Garret with quickened magic missiles (16 damage) before casting an additional spell targetting dragon/riders 1,2,3,4,5,6,7 (spellcraft DC 18: haste)
The fourth half-elf also attacks Garret with a claw however he stays mounted. The claw strikes the halfling (nat 20) (5 damage + 5 electric damage 97 vs 20 miss chance)
Dragonkin 1 breaks formation and advances attacking Bosk with a bite but its jaws are thwarted by the cleric's armor.

Restlin grips Shiny's hilt, asking his sword to make him smarter. He ceases concentration on his duplicate, leaving a cowering Restlin behind a rock. He hopes that between his invisibility and cover, those riders up there won't see this coming. Lightning erupts from his maximize rod, arcing instantly between himself and one of the riders holding the scrolls. It slams into him before arcing to the dragonkin mount. It continues arcing between the rest of the half-elves and dragonkin until all 8 are hit.
The invisible Restlin books it away from his illusionary double. He ends up 30' away from the illusion, concealed by another crag.
OOC: There's no map, so I'm just winging this. Restlin has freedom of movement from Tink's garment AND is flying, so I'm ignoring difficult terrain. ***

Sesha feels the magic, but it slips off of her easily. She was thankful for both Restlin and her Mindblank spell. There wasn't much else she could do at this range other than confusion, so instead she tries to mess with some plans.
She drops Pot-pot to the ground from her hookpack, and gives him a mental command.
"Grow."
From there she grasps at the woldsblood closest to her, and finds it surprisingly strong. Kneading the rusty red threads of power through her fingers, and channels it's power. She casts a quickened spell, casting Blind, targeting an elf with a scroll. If he can't see it, he can't read it.
She takes a deep breath, and prepares to counter the next enemy spell cast.

She tries to use telekinesis to disarm the scroll being held by half-elf 5. The scroll gets knocked out of the half-elf's hand and falls to the ground.
Garret continues to attack half-elf 1 using acrobatic rolls and kicks. The monk lands 2 solid blow and then half-elf 1 gets knocked out of the saddle and falls down dead. He then continues to attack half-elf 4 landing 4 solid blows on him, knocking him out of the sky too. Garret continues attacking dragon-kin 4 landing 4 blows. The dragon-kin remains airborne.
Beri starts channeling another summon spell, this causes half-elf 6 to try to counter the summon spell (70 vs blur, 23 - 11 = 12 & not countered) followed by half-elf 7 (21 vs blur 34 = 23 so countered)
Restlin has shiny make him brighter and then stops concentrating on the duplicate before letting fly with a maximized chain lightning targetting half-elf 6. The bolt strikes the half-elf frying it and causing it to drop from the sky it then spreads to half-elf 2, half-elf 5 and dragon-kin 5, half-elf 7 and dragon-kin 7, half-elf 3 and dragon-kin 3, half-elf 2 and dragon-kin 2 and dragon-kin 4. (OOC: 1 and 8 were out of range per the map (need to be 30 feet from 6)) All of the half-elves hit fry as well falling from the sky. Restlin notices they resisted some of the damage but it was too much for them to handle. dragon-kin 4 also lethally fries and falls from the sky. The rest of the dragon-kin take damage but remain flying.
Sesha resists the spell, then casts a quickened blindness spell at half-elf 8 blinding him. She then prepares to counterspell and unstraps pot-pot commanding the cauldron to grow.
Zane continues to grapple the dragon-kin, pinning it and dealing damage.
Bosk attacks dragon-kin 1 catching it with an armor spike. All his other attacks fail to penetrate its scaly hide.

Sesha watches the charred elves rain from the sky. Mixed feelings of pride in Restlin and sorrow at the many years of life lost by the half-elves dance over their emotional link.
"Much gained, much lost. Well done, Mage-priest."
She doesn't have much time for contemplation, enemy attacks start to rain down on her from above. This one was still under the effects of her spell, and hitting it back would just mark her as his target for it's duration.
She beckons Pot-pot to follow, and darts off towards the fallen body of the nearest half-elf. (Half-elf 1). She hovers over his body for a moment, then taps him lightly on the nose three times, punctuating her next words.
"..Bippity. ..boppity... Boop."
The elf returns, alive, even if just barely. She whispers in his ear. "Welcome back. Don't die yet, half-elf. Questions need to be asked and answered, after all."
Pot-pot clangs loudly behind Sesha, coming silently to a stop near her side. (Large Size, provides cover and concealment from Dragonkin 3's position.
Just in case they care to hear it, Sesha yells out into the fracas.
"Don't mind me. Just saving your companions here. Stop fighting and I might save more than one!"

Garret's jaw drops as he sees the lightning drop one after another of their enemies. He takes a moment to trace it back to the source and is surprised to see it is Restlin. He quickly gives him the "thumbs up" before turning back to the other flying creatures in another flurry of spins and kicks, moving from one creature to another. Zane is so shocked that the dragonkin escaped his grasp, that he completely flubbed his attack as it escaped. DM Highlight to display spoiler: { Question, I assume the Dragonkin used Hero points to get that far?} Instead of chasing after the one that's fleeing, Zane launches himself at one of the two that's been striking at him, trying to grapple him to the ground, they're not too far into the air because they've been striking at him.

On his left, however, dragonkin 7 seems to see just fine. He sends another sunbeam in the direction of 7 and hopes to blind another opponent. Hmm, looks like this is winding down. There weren't any animals to question, but these guys likely have more information than a gull would have... if we can get them to talk.

Zane drags the two unconscious Dragon-kin together and keeps an eye on them to be sure they remain that way. "Got a couple prisoners here whenever you are ready for them. As to how they knew we were here, we probably tripped some sort of alarm spell, or they were still scrying on us. Those are my guesses at least."
Sesha has no chance of catching the fleeing Elf, so she sets about patching up Garret.
"They all really want to catch that guy. He's blinded, so they've got that going for them." She speaks quietly as she works on the small monks powerful body, ignoring his powerful musk for the moment.
"Careful of traps. If he can breath cones of cold, he can communicate telepathically with allies, at the very least.".

Zane drags the two unconscious dragon-kin over and notes that they probably were detected by an alarm spell or through scrying.
Sesha starts patching up Garret and then sends a warning over the link about the half-elf potentially being able to send telepathic communication.
Bosk gets off the dragon and then starts binding it. (OOC: You don't have time to take a 20 but I will allow a 10 which is enough)

Garret thanks Sesha for the healing and then looks around asking if there is a second wave or if they will have to find more assailants.
Sesha tells Garret that they'll have to hunt from hear on out. She then starts asking Serenbeth for some aid in the form of summoning the Sisters of Serenbeth.
Zane states they can always wake one of the half-elves or dragon-kin and ask them.
Beri starts hauling the entrapped half-elf back to the group, asking the others to have a spell ready in case he escapes from the vortex.
Tink points out that the trapped half-elf has a freedom of movement spell in effect.
Bosk asks what is the group going to do with the prisoners.
The remaining conscious half-elf does not escape the vortex and takes 8 damage from the buffeting winds.
There are no other hostiles in the area beside the unconscious prisoners and the entrapped half-elf in the vortex who shows no signs of surrendering.

Zane puts himself on sentry duty, He figures he can keep watch for a second wave of attackers. "You do realize that in a couple minutes they'll know that we were the winners of this scuffle. They may evade us by leaving or just send even more after us in the hopes of overwhelming us. My suggestion is to just tie them up and keep moving. These defeated people we are tieing up won't die from a few hours of be exposed out here. But we as a group need to decide what we are doing."

Bosk racks his brains. When we became Dragons, did they tell us that we can pass judgement on people? I say we give them a chance to repent. If they agree and there is not deception, great. If not...
ooc: Serious question, I thought I remember them saying something along those lines, but I cannot find it. I am all for executing the ones that do not cooperate if that is the case. I am not a fan of the idea, but I see no way to keep them captive without risking escape and putting the whole Wold in danger.
Sesha is surprised at the strong response from her calling. Hope, Joy, Faith, Myrth and Celeste, rarely ever, appeared all together. She was lucky to see even the triplets all at once. She wondered if it were luck, somehow influenced by Restlin, or something else.
"Hello girls.", she casts away her eyes in respect of the young clerics, then raises them again. "I need your help, but with what exactly I don't know yet. There's a runner giving the others a chase, and there's some wounded among my friends. Please start with their wounds, then to and we can move on from there."
The clerics, girls really, each met a brutal end by jealous clerics of Jancaissis, each give each other a sidelong glance before bowing.
"Yes, Matron!"
With a frown of confusion, Sesha waves her arms at them wildly."None of that! You're more like sisters than subordinates!"
With a mischievous giggle, the ghosts disperse.
Hope Joy and Myrth: "Run" towards those chasing down the last elf to heal those wounds. (I think you can run and fly at 3x move)
Faith and Celeste begin attending to Garret.

[DM Hugh] - Welcoming Committee 10d6=33 Monday February 27th, 2017 11:59:57 PM Tink replies to Beri telepathically about the limitations of her telekinesis before asking Garret to start tying up the other prisoners.
Garret starts tying up one of the unbound prisoners.
Restlin directs his air elemental to start attacking the half-elf.
Zane puts himself on sentry duty and points out that it won't take long for others on the island to figure out the Iron Dragons have won and that they'd best be served by tying up the prisoners and moving on.
Beri drags the half-elf back to the others.
Bosk asks if the Iron Dragons have the ability to pass judgement on people suggesting they give the prisoners a chance to repent honestly or else...
Sesha gets a strong response from the summon spell and starts giving her girls orders to have them help her friends. The ghosts require with a "Yes Matron" to which Sesha says, "None of that, your more like sisters than subordinates." and the girls set to worse with much giggling.
When Beri stops moving, the half-elf flies down to the bottom of the vortex and upon hearing voices raises his hand and fires a point blank cone of cold straight down freezing himself as well as the other prisoners and anyone within 60 feet of them. (assuming Tink, Garret, Sesha too at the very least considering the 3 of them were near the prisoners)

Restlin is secretly glad the half-elf killed himself and others. He had zero patience for debate on the proper treatment of prisoners at this point. They attacked with intent to kill all the Iron Adventurers; he wastes no time accepting their fates as just. Tink and Bosk could handle the heavy thinking, he was just glad all his friends were in one piece.
He gathers his friends up & lets what little power Wardd allows him to channel outward (everyone healed 15 damage).
"So, who wants to listen to this stupid dragonkin announce that he's not telling us anything and that we're all going to die?"

Garret nimbly dodges as the cone of cold appear, quickly slipping out the way of the entire blast (reflex: 27) and accepting the healing from various directions. He chuckles at Restlin's comment about the prisoner and looks around where they have landed (perception: 30) for any paths, signs of habitation, structures in the distance, etc.

ooc: Beri wasn't high enough up for the cone to reach that far. He was: "far enough up and to the side that they can't target everyone with a single cone again, but still low enough the taller party members can reach him if a spell or rescuing is needed." If Beri traveled the same distance to the enemy and back, only Bosk would have been in reach of a cone facing downward (based on the last map)...sorry Bosk.
Sesha feels a slight hint of .. pleasure? She looks at Restlin and considers the emotion she felt through the coven, but says nothing. There was a myriad of things he could have been pleased about. All the same, she's aware her confusion was probably relayed to the others.
After the battle, the sisters start fussing over Tink and Restlin, who seems the least badly injured of the companions.
"How come you got beat up so bad?", asks one to Restlin. "Are you the weakest link?", asks another. "Hey, hows your skin so smooth? Is it because your so small wrinkles don't show up? Myrth and I were arguing about that."
Despite the teasing and inane questions, they find themselves under the attentions of several healing spells.

She wonders how much emotion they still felt, and whether they were ever actually happy, or just acting that way. She takes a moment to administer to Beri, knowing the others are in good hands. She waves her fleshbound ragdoll in front of the druid, grinning mischievously.
"Show me on the doll where the elf touched you."

"I'm happy we're all ok," is all he says before accepting the somewhat chatty healing of Sesha's ghosts. "Yes, my skin is very smooth. I credit lavendar oil baths and the fact that I'm just 20 years old for it."
He doesn't respond to their weakest link comments, he just chuckles. He knows who took all those half-elves out...

She quickly finds herself surrounded by Sesha's ghostly friends, poking and prodding at her. Well, at least they healed her as a result.

Zane is pragmatic about prisoners, "It's better to put him out of his misery if you don't wake him up. Questioning him then killing him, would only prolong it. But as has been said, the last bunch refused to speak, and the longer we wait, the readier they'll be for us."

With that, she makes the decision for the others, and absorbs the life energy away from the dragon-kin.
