I continue to nap by the stream, taking in the beauty of nature in this place.
OOC: I updated the Party Treasure some, and sent out a group e-mail with some comments on it.
Beordir (Galen) AC: 21/16/15, CMD 20, Saves: 6/8/7, HP: 33/43, Mage Armor, Protection from Evil Thursday April 27th, 2017 12:40:53 PM
Beordir takes the rapiers and hand crossbows with him to see if he can find anyone interested in them. He tarrys long with Ryan Mistbender getting him to bind his notes together with some more blank pages into a journal of sorts. Of course, additional supplies are needed as well.
There is of course more to discuss around local arcane spell casters and who he can talk to for acquiring spells. Beordir insures Mistbender is aware he'll pay to access spells he does not yet have.
Taking his leave, Beordir checks through the marketplace to see if there's a caravan heading to Hook City that might be able to dispose of the hand crossbows. Then he ventures into Dungarth's abode to get his new journal bound.
Finally, he heads back to the creek to have some lunch with Mack and friends.
(OOC initial basic purchase of a journal, ink and a pen is 18 gp and 1 sp Should I handle spell purchasing through the Catacombs?)

Atlas enjoys their local fame, something he never thought he would enjoy earlier in his life. He starts to get some of his old self back as he talks to the travelers as well as the locals.
--------------------------------------------------------------------- ooc: It's going to take me a bit to figure things out with my leveling and the possibility of purchasing something. I do want two of the hand crossbows though. I don't mind a week or so of down time :-)

As I see Beordir returning to the sanctuary area by the stream, I start working on the peanut butter and gelatinous cube sandwiches.
'Osul(Graham) AC:11 (T:11, FF:10), CMD:17, HP:46/46 Thursday April 27th, 2017 6:04:48 PM
'Osul takes his leave to meditate at the chapel, looking to reconnect to The Tree, and see if there have been any significant changes resulting from their bringing the picture given to them in the Red Hills.
Afterwards, he looks towards purchasing a headband to aid his spell capacity, but the quality will depend on the disbursements.
He stops by their accommodations, checks his room and for any messages, before taking the shape of the eagle, finding Mack and Beordir and reverting to human form.
Armand (Robert D) AC 18vs evil/touch11/flat15 HP 55/55 CMD 17 Character Sheet Thursday April 27th, 2017 9:15:26 PM
Armand is amazed at the gift of the Drow children. He turns the jewels over to Boolia.
He then wanders around the Tree. He is deep in contemplation about what to do about the hammer he found. He wanders into the area where Mack and Beodir are .... bathing, out in the open ... "Hi guys. Say Mack I dropped those jewels off with Boolia, she said they are worth 4,400 gold pieces."
He then wanders off again. Deciding that cleanliness would probably be a good idea he returns to their lodging and sets about cleaning himself, and all his traveling gear. Later that evening he sits in the Library, contemplating the mostly empty shelves. "Owen was going to build this up. We only have those books we scavenged from that crazy drow mage/druid in the forest.
He sits Crusty Jim on a shelf and pulls a chair close by. He sits in the chair and contemplates the hammer. "Are you someone's long lost heirloom?" Armand resolves to ask some of the people in the Tree if they ever heard of a war hammer called Crusty Jim. It was probably a long time ago. But Dwarves are known for naming hammers and such and maybe it has a home somewhere. He looks out the dark window. But that may be a task for the morning.
Mack (Eric R) AC: 16 (T 16 FF 13), CMD: 16; HP 46/46, Speed: 30' Friday April 28th, 2017 7:09:09 AM "Thanks Armand!" I add the count to our Party Treasure.
With thoughts towards my future, I again ask around at the Tree a little to see if there is a Greenmage that lives at the Tree, or nearby.
OOC: DMs, I'm not sure if you saw my question in the Rules area or not. I wasn't sure if I could become a Greenmage now, or if I have to level up my Druid to 2 first. It's not a Greenmage requirement, but a multi-classing rule that is a little vague in this area. I'm actually not 100% sure I even want to add Greenmage yet at this point, but I'm weighing my options. So was just curious if it's even an option yet for me.
Atlas Sunowl (Trey) AC: 24(modified) (T 16 FF 21) (modified), CMD: 24/19 (modified); HP 61/61 Character Sheet Friday April 28th, 2017 3:02:42 PM
Atlas takes a seat next to Armand and puts his feet up. "That sure is an appropriate name for it. I cannot imagine a dwarf creating or owning a rusty weapon, even if it is magical. Seems more like a trickster mage or deranged berserker that had it made. Are we sure we want to find them?"
Atlas sits there in silence next to Armand for a while, just enjoying his company and the fact that they are home again. He eventually asks a question to break the silence, "I'm debating whether I should get a bag of holding or if I should buy something for magical protection. My gear is getting too heavy, and the group seemed to think I should be carrying something for longer range combat. However, we're starting to encounter more magic out in the Wold. The last thing you all need is for me to be turned against you because I'm weak minded or something. Any thoughts?"
Mack (Eric R) AC: 16 (T 16 FF 13), CMD: 16; HP 46/46, Speed: 30' Friday April 28th, 2017 4:37:20 PM "Well, we do have a Bag Of Holding already that we share. Carver used to carry it. But I think we're good with that one, unless you feel that is insufficient? Several of us have magical pockets of some form or another already as well, too. I'd focus on something useful for battle! And I'm not expert at combat, but I like you up front. Especially with Carver gone now as well."
"But I've always found people are best at what they are happy doing. So be the type of fighter you enjoy, and we'll fill in any gaps, I'm sure." :)
Beordir (Galen) AC: 21/16/15, CMD 20, Saves: 6/8/7, HP: 48 / 48 Unaugmented Friday April 28th, 2017 7:34:14 PM
Beordir reminds, "What about that quiver? I think it will hold bows as well at less weight than in hand. If we spread things out a bit, you shouldn't get over-burdened."
Having scrubbed the faded dye off in the stream, Beordir gets out his dye pots and starts mixing up a good brown and green, Then he starts drawing a few happy trees on his left forearm.
'Osul(Graham) AC:11 (T:11, FF:10), CMD:17, HP:46/46 Saturday April 29th, 2017 2:29:33 AM
OOC: assuming we have all gathered together.
"Atlas, you stood there and watched as I put that bag into my handy haversack before we left for home with the emancipated, and you said something about hoping it didn't blow up." He smiles and adds, "It's yours -- I was just minding it until it was needed.". 'Osul reaches into his haversack, pulls out the bag, and hands it to Atlas.
The next time the opportunity presents itself, he takes a moment to speak with the butler in a long conversation. He is looking for answers about where he is from, and how he came to be here, because he has no recollection of his name or of how he came to join us. That and, if he is going to be here for a while, then he would like to discuss some basic modifications for the kitchen he would like his opinion on - fresh water storage and optional heating, an icebox, and such.
At another juncture, he hopes to have a private word with Mack. "I don't think I have been much of a mentor or even a good example of a Druid. I think I need to speak with someone who can help me better understand my own training, and my own mentor. The only person I know, that we know, that might be able to assist is the Emissary."
Mack (Eric R) AC: 16 (T 16 FF 13), CMD: 16; HP 46/46, Speed: 30' Saturday April 29th, 2017 10:20:12 AM "You've been a fine mentor for me, Osul. Druid isn't my main profession... just a very large interest for me. Greenmage has fascinated me quite a bit as well. At heard, I'll always be a monk/rogue that really loves plants and animals." :)
Armand (Robert D) AC 18vs evil/touch11/flat15 HP 55/55 CMD 17 Character Sheet Saturday April 29th, 2017 12:03:22 PM OOC Graham/'Osul - our butler is James. He was a hireling of Gaston's that we captured and 'turned' into our spy on Gaston. I believe he may have been a small time thief. Armand set up him up as a Butler and paid him in advance to oversee things before we left.
Armand talking to Atlas. "I have an efficient quiver that really is just serving as a scabbard for my glaive. I can carry a bow and arrows for you. I think, as you are our tower up front, either concentrate on defense or dealing mayhem."
Armand in overhearing 'Osul and Mack talking thinks to himself. "What can 'Osul mean by that? Who is the Emissary? Is 'Osul going to leave now to?"
Beordir (Galen) AC: 21/16/15, CMD 20, Saves: 6/8/7, HP: 48 / 48 Unaugmented Saturday April 29th, 2017 5:01:01 PM
Beordir is struck by Mack's conversation about being interested in plant's and animal. The Arboreal Awareness may not thank you. What's even more amusing is his advice to Atlas about focusing.
Beordir smiles to himself as he refills his reed with green.
"It's good to know we have several items that improve weight. When I was wandering along, carrying enough water was always on my mind."
He turns his attention toward Mack, "What's a Greenmage?"
Mack (Eric R) AC: 16 (T 16 FF 13), CMD: 16; HP 46/46, Speed: 30' Sunday April 30th, 2017 8:32:56 AM "Greenmages are those that are most closely bonded with the plant world all around us. At least, that's what I've heard from stories growing up." I say at first fairly convincingly, then, almost second guessing myself. A draw a picture on the ground of a Druid, with a large S on the front of his robe.

the homecoming proves relaxing, enlightening, satisfying and fun. The ex-slaves depart with promises of aid if you ever need it. the tree citizens look at you with pride and love in their eyes. Transactions take place at the catacombs and good friends spend lazy days relaxing by the creek. The horror and sorrow of what you have experienced start to fade and a truth comes unbidden to your mind. All that is needed for evil to take root is for good men to do nothing. You did well, and the world is a better place for it.
