Kezzem stops in front of the cave and casts detect evil. He gets a strong aura.
Murphy asks for Alleah then for an order.
Before Mookie flies into the cave Bliss stops and pops a potion.
Lance mutters something and heads for the cave.
Sky also heads for the entrance.
Other then mookie.. no one makes the entrance as the cave spews forth its inhabitants. Bugs.. thousands come forth. Over Kezzem, Sky, Lance and Pressi. Their pinchers tear into flesh and rip skin.

If he is still hasted, Bliss shoots twice as a full attack. He hits ACs 33 and 22. The 33 is a crit threat, and he follows up with a 20 to confirm.
If the enemy zombies are AC 34+, then no damage. If they are AC 23-33, then one hit for 13. If they are AC21-22, then two hits for 26 total. If they are AC20 and under, then two hits, one a confirmed crit, for 39 total.

As the swarm burst out of the cave, Sky is able to shield himself from the darn pests. Used to living in the woods around bugs all the time, he's unaffected.
The zombie that rushes him obviously didn't think things through.
He fires all 4 arrows at the abomination.

Murphy observed Bliss quaffing some sort of potion and heading toward the cave - then the swarm of bugs streaming forth. He decides to deal first with the bugs.
Seeing that his friends are rather occupied, and wondering where Shel is - may have entered the cave invisible, and of course Alleah is still invisible - he rises in the air, calls in halfling (which perhaps the undead whiteshirts understand, or not), sees the bugs, and says, "Friends - Prepare for a two-foot thick wind wall, surrounding the bugs, and some of you. Step through the wall - hang on to your things tightly, and the bugs will be trapped inside, those on you blown off."[PLAYERS: Make Reflex Save DC 16 when passing through to hold on to what is in your hands.]
He casts wind wall, encircling most of the ground bugs, and likely several of the characters - in particular Sky, Kezzem, Lance and Pressi (but likely not Bliss - he can tell where he is, I think, and does not seem to be in the path of the bugs). He shapes it as economically as possible - all or most bugs, fewest characters. Shaped in a continuous path along the ground, and up 90 feet total length (but less if less will do), he encloses the area so bugs cannot leave. It can be as irregularly shaped as circumstances require. Height is 15 feet (could have done it up to 45 feet).
With the haste, air elemental Murphy uses an extra move to draw close to the cave entrance, off to the right side, about 10 feet up, to keep close tabs on what or who is coming out.

Bliss unleashes on the first zombie(1). His one head blows through the zombies eye severely wounding it.
Kezzem lets the others know about the evil before smashing the zombie(2)by him.
Sky is unaffected vy the scarabs and instead unleashes 4 arrows on a zombie(3). 3 hit.
Murphy calls to his friends to pass through his wall of wind. He encases the scarabs and those being attacked.
Pressi also shrugs off the scarabs and runs and tackles one of thw zombies.
Lance lands a multitude of punches and kicks on the zombie(4) by him.
Zombie 1 stands around aimlessly looking for Bliss.
Zombie 2 and 6 both miss Kezzem.
Zombie 3 hits Sky (9 dmg) zombie 7 misses. Need fort save.
Pressi is missed while Lance is hit once. (12 dmg need fort save.)..
Sky and Lance are bit by the scarabs 2 dmg need both saves again.
Pressi takes 1 and needs both saves.
As for Mookie.. he is very quiet and stealthy.. unfortunately something else is stealthier and has seen him since he entered. Sharp, long claws rip into mookies sides ripping him open. 29 Dmg! 2 fort saves vs dc 22.
A Large greenish, hooved creature lowers itself from the cave roof.
Quickly, Pressi moved to pin the zombie down with one hand, her other hand striking at the scarab. "Hey, cut it out. Can't this wait until I'm done dealing with our fans?"

"Get out of the wind circled area, now! Murphy shouts over the sounds of wind and battle. If he knows what kind of creature it is he tells the party that. He rises to 20' height and lands a column of lightning on the head of one of the zombies for 11 hp damage (save for 1/2 damage).
He feels in his bones that Uthvas Bethud is behind all this. He did the whole thing specifically to lure Humble's Sword into his carefully prepared trap. He lured the white shirts into his maw, to diabolically turn them against the heroes they held in so high regard. He hopes that Shel can lay down some substantial hurt once she is ready, and knows that Sky's arrows are strong and deadly. A few party members he cannot account for still. Why is Pressi wrestling that zombie? He feels a twinge of jealousy.

Pressi continues holding the zombie down while smashing at the scarab swarm. Her hand is covered in bug guts as she smashes them, yet more remain.
Mookie's body goes rigid and stiff as he falls to the ground. The creature flashes a wicked curved tooth smile as he bends down and picks up the paralyzed bird. "You are probably as tasty as you are dumb..." he says as he lifts the bird to his mouth, Then all goes black.
Bliss strikes again, and zombie one goes down. This time is looks like it isn't getting back up. It explodes but doesn't coat anyone with the zombie guts.
Lance goes into a frenzy smashing the zombie in front of him, all while cracking a joke. The zombies head snaps back at an odd angle. Taking the unlife from it. this time is explodes into Lance. Need fort save.. dc 18.
Sky unleashes on the other zombie, taking it down with his first arrow. He changes targets and is able to take down another zombie. Both explode without hitting anyone.
Murphy looks around, but cant see into the cave. He drops down a lightning bolt on one of the zombie.
sky takes 4 more dmg from the scarabs, Pressi and Lance take 1. ( All three need saves again)
The three remaining zombies all smash into Lance, one connects for 9 dmg and need a fort save.

Kezzem looks around the battlefield. Are there any zombies left? If so, he attacks one. If not, are there any swarms left? He can attack a swarm ... or at least try.
The paladin quickdraws his two returning daggers and throws them both at -2 with two-weapon fighting. The first toss is a nat 20 and follows up to crit vs AC20. That inflicts 4+3=7 damage. His other dagger toss hits AC17 for 4 damage if it hits.
Kezzem has a BAB +9 so he still has two secondary iterative attacks that he can quickdraw and throw with improved two weapon fighting. He quickdraws a regular dagger and hurls it at -5 and -2, hitting AC17 for 3 damage and yet another dagger, hitting AC12, surely a miss.
His sturdy celestial mount throws down hoof-wise, hitting twice to strike AC 12, a miss, and AC 31, a crit threat that confirms vs AC18 for 7 + 5 = 12 if confirmed.

A bolt of lightning falls upon some of the scarabs/bugs within the windwall - preferably on a square which contains no adventurer at the moment, for 8 hp damage (reflex save for 4 hp). Maybe them going up in electrical flame will get some of their adjacent neighbors, or, maybe not.

Bliss thuds another arrow into one of the zombie white shirts. He tries to feel his link to Mookie but nothing is there.
Pressi ties up the wrestled zombie, and shoves him into the cave before calling out a challenge.
Kezzem decides one of the last zombies needs some punishment, and him and his horse dish it out.
Lance continues to call out moves he is throwing out, and easily connects four times with zombie 6.
Murphy drops a bolt on the scarabs. Some curl up, flip over and die... but many are left. Sky, Bliss Lance and Kezzem are in the windwall.
He moves up to the mouth of the cave and looks in. Other then Pressi's tied up zombie he cannot make anything out in the darkness. It doesn't matter though as a semi-canine humanoid with rancid green flesh and hooflike feet, yet its eyes sparkle with the gleam of intelligence comes leaping out and pounces on Murphy. Its claws miss, but its dagger like teeth find the air elemental. 15dmg. Need two DC 22 Fort saves.
Sky takes 2 damage while Cudgel takes 3. Lance takes 8. Need 2 saves from Lance and Cudgel, 4 for Lance.
Lance is slammed once by the zombie for 8 dmg... another dc 15 fort save.
Pressi is slammed once herself 13 dmg, dc 15 fort save.
Kezzem is hit twice. Total of 23 damage.. 2 dc 15 fort saves.

Murphy saves twice (Fort nat 20 for 28, and 22), and immediately ascends upwards and slightly backwards to an altitude of ~20 feet. "Who are you, and where is your master?" he asks, as he drops a lightning bolt on the hoofed greenish canine humanoid for 11 hp damage (reflex save DC 17 for half damage). "Someone, tanglefoot bag on this doggy fellow!" As he still has movement left due to the haste, should the creature leap toward him or attempt some other attack on him, Murphy is prepared to pull off to one side immediately (held action).

Readied (sometimes called held) actions are standard actions in combat, even if the readied action is to simply use a move action, or even a swift action. As Murphy already took a standard action, he cannot saved his movement for later in the turn. It needs to be used on his initiative, or it is lost.

Kezzem sees the big momma jamma and decides to SMITE that EVIL, and then some! He throws four daggers (two of them are his returning daggers that came back to him). Smiting Evil, he has a +2 to hit and a +9 damage (+18 on the first successful attack if it is undead or an evil outsider). AND his attacks bypass its damage reduction!
Two primary thrown daggers, at -2 for range, -2 for throwing with both hands: hits AC26 and 20 for 14 and 14 damage if it is evil, +9 for the first successful attack if it is undead or an evil outsider.
Two secondary thrown daggers, at -2 for range, -2 for throwing with both hands, -5 for being secondary: hits ACs 21 and 19 for 12 and 12.
Rumpus, meanwhile, rears up and stomps on a nearby zombie. The valiant steed hits ACs 16 and 16 for 7 and 6.
Note that if the big mama jamma attacks Kezzem, he has a +1 to AC thanks to Smite Evil.
Bliss fears the worst about Mookie, and has an intuition that the horrible thing emerging from the cave is to blame. He shoots at it and then stealths.

Murphy flies up and away from the creature. " I am the master fool..." it bellows back as it takes the lightning bolt.
Before tossing her tanglefoot bag, Pressi tries to figure out what it is.. but doesn't recall anything like it. Her bag just manages to hit, but the creature is not glued. Worse.. she is his intended target.
Kezzem sees his job before him and unleashes 4 daggers. One of wich connects. ( your first one.. so its 23 dmg or 37? 14+9.. or 14+14+9?)
Rumpus smashes the skull of the zombie he was on.
Bliss fires but misses. Luckily he is able to stealth out...
Lance blasts the zombie in front of him.. sending it to hell.
Sky takes out the last zombie, leaving only the tied up one in the cave.
The scarabs still tear in.. sky takes 5 dmg, cudgel 1, lance 2.. need 2 saves for sky and cudgel.. 4 for lance

"I'm glad to know you are the master fool," Murphy calls down over the sound of the wind roaring maybe 15 or 25 feet away.
He casts flame strike, invoking the divine fire in such a way as to hit the greenish monster, yet avoid his own halfling friends, Pressi and Lance. 41 hp damage to BMJ, or reflex save vs DC18 for 1/2 damage. [Half the damage is fire damage, but the other half results directly from divine power and is therefore not subject to being reduced by resistance to fire-based attacks]
"No dessert for you. You'll choke if you even try an appetizer. And none of us is a coward, Master Fool."
Inside, he prays for Pressi. [BTW, Pressi's AC is 29, so, perhaps she was not hit 4 times, but once, only?]
"What do you know of courage?" she asks as her teammates surround the creature. "My friend may have been afraid of a lot of things, but she isn't afraid to face the likes of you. Surely, tales will be sung of you feasting on small birds from the safety of your cave. Is that what you are the master off, pray tell?"
If Murphy was worried before for her, he cannot be thrilled to see her shield begin to drop, energy moving from her body to her hands. We all take risks others wish we wouldn't, whether it's rushing to scout or dropping defense for offense.
"I don't know what you did here but it stops now. Nobody is running. Nobody is worried." Pressi moved slightly to the right, moving to flank Kezzem. "And I don't think of this as dying. I think of this as living to the fullest."
She can feel her energy beginning to attach to Kezzem. "Last chance to... hoof it."
She strikes.

The creature catches only part of flamestrike. ( ill allow this time to only catch the creature, but when three flank its next to impossible to pinpoint. )
Lance runs forward and attempts to trip, but doesnt.
Pressi drops her force shield and goes on the offensive. Crunching hands into the creature multiple times.
Kezzem goes into a total slicing, dicing machine. Every dagger slash digs deep.into the creatures flesh.
" I failed you Uthvas... " the creature yells. " i failed in the destruction of Humbles Lord Mart...." the last word gets stuck as the creature stumbles back collapsing to the ground.
Someone in the group lights a torch and drops it into the wind wall.. torching the scarabs and killing them.
Bliss saves his last arrow as the creature is dead

"So, Uthvas was behind the work of this creature - if not the direct attacker himself. And the Master Fool," (yes, Murphy knows the fellow was meaning to call him, Murphy, a fool, but the druid prefers his deliberate misinterpretation of the wicked being's statement), "considered himself a servant of the Dark Lord - Marteaus, that foul, foul power," Murphy says. He does not voice, but wonders, whether Marteaus in fact urged or compelled the actions of this - whatever it is.
The druid looks around. "I lost track of some of you. By the way, you all were awesome in your work against the bodies of the poor lost souls this creature defiled, and against the beast himself - Sky, Kezzem, Pressi, Lance, Bliss. Now, where is Mookie? And where are Alleah, and Shel?" He calls out for each of them in as loud a voice as he can, and looks about.
As he waits to hear from, or hear about, his friends, he asks, coming down next to Pressi, "I wonder if there are any innocents within the cave who may yet still benefit from our succour?" After a pause, he adds, "Or others with whom we must deal."

A beam of light from the heavens bursts through the clouds and strikes Lance. He rises into the air several inches and a choir of angel-song plays as his eyes glow a brilliant white and sparks of lightning dance from his hands and feet. After a few seconds the the music stops, the beam disappears, and Lance falls to the ground in a heap. Small wisps of smoke rise from his skin. Suddenly he bolts upright with a gulp of air. "Aaaaaaahhhhh!" After screaming until he runs out of air, silence. Lance looks at you. "Oh! Hey. That was different. I... got a new calling, you could say. I just had an ancestor talk to me. Very intense guy. He explained that my life was off course and he was trading in some favors to get me back on track. They... what's a good way of putting it? They cut out a piece of my soul and put in a different piece. I don't remember anything about my martial arts training, but now I have these weird memories they gave me about lessons in casting spells that I never actually had. They said I would need them to find my true destiny. Or something like that. It was weird soul-telepathy-sympathetic kind of stuff."
He stands up and brushes himself. "But, it's over now. I'm good. Mostly. I cast spells now. So... are we going to explore the cave? Not to sound too nonchalant or anything, but I was kinda time-compressed so the conversation and soul-transplant thing actually felt like hours to me and I had plenty of time to process things. So come on! Let's go explore that cave!" Lance waves to the party and starts walking toward the cave mouth.
ooc: Hey guys! Our DMs have kindly allowed me to have some character surgery. My monk build for Lance was originally intended as a place-holder. I submitted a sorcerer bloodline to the BGC and I was going to convert Lance to the new bloodline when it was approved. I made a monk build for kicks and giggles in the meantime. But then I learned that my submission wasn't going to be reviewed for up to a year from now. The monk build turned out to be less than effective and unsatisfying, so Lance is now a sorcerer.

Bliss is the first one to enter the cave and his worst fears are realized. Mookie lays still at the floor of the cave . As he moves closer he can see Mookies eyes and there is life in them!!!! Hes not dead.. just paralyzed and unconscious.
Around the cave are scattered gems worth 1k gold... and a firepit with a half charred sheet of paper. Otherwise it is empty.

Though concerned with the whereabouts of two or three of the party's members, Murphy is taken aback by the transfiguration of Lance Foxwell. "Wha... what??" he asks in airy voice as the monk is caught up into the air, and radiates light, in addition to the beam of illumination which penetrates the fog and clouds above. What, who, has him possessed? He flies up and about, trying to discern the invisible force taking over their impetuous companion - but sees nothing, other than the levitating Lance - who descends in a heap.
Then Lance rises, and gives explanation what he just passed through. "Who are they?? Who thus, as you say, performed chirurgery upon your very soul?"
He looks up toward the heavens, to see if he might catch a look at the powers above who touch one of his friends - to no harm, but weal, he calculates, if the fellow's explanation be believed. And the madcap urges spying out the cave, which Murphy is willing to do.
Then the recently made noble Kezzem speaks.
"Kez - those who have been idolizing us were indeed made undead. This creature is a necromancer, and not undead himself, I think. Correct me, though, should you have better knowledge than I. He has been in alliance with Uthvas, and in service to Marteaus. And deserves," he adds, spitting air, "torment for what he has wrought upon the white shirts."
His visage smiles as Kezzem complains about Lance's changes without first needing to pass through the gates of death.
"Fine. Let us explore the cave, New Lance. Bliss already has entered ahead."
Both relieved and worried is he to see Mookie lying there. He hears the bird is alive. He asks Bliss, "May I?" and, if his tiny friend not object, Murphy casts cure light wounds upon the raven, for 9 hp of healing. "Shall I cast neutralize poison, do you suppose?"
If Bliss gives the go-ahead, he casts that spell (DM Shawn, please make whatever saving throws to attend this that may be necessary).

He lets others gather the gems and such, then asks Sky, "Say, I've been thinking. It may or may not work, but, would you like to see if we can reincarnate Meko? Now, if we do that, he may come back as a wolf, but could come back as some other animal. Ask whatever questions you want, think it over, and let me know. If we are to do it, we will need to get back to his grave within the next couple of days at the latest. If we can take him out into the woods before casting the spell, that may increase the chances of ... well, anyway, as I said, think it over, Sky."
