He could feel more of his muscles respond to the constant commands he was trying to send them. The lightening bolt from the sky made him want to jump, and part of him tried to jump, but he didn't move much more than twitch.

(Sorry I haven't been paying enough attention lately while posting.)
(Stunned, 3 rounds left)
Stohp is now stunned, poisoned (saves of 20 and 12), and probably going to get KO'd in one round. Typical really. Then again, the last time she'd been this badly beaten was the zombie fight. She's a bit surprised at that realization; seems that she has been getting better at this whole adventuring thing after all.
Not that that's any help at the moment.

Stock races over to Beetle 8, ending his charge with a blow that splits the wounded beetle wide open.
Freed of that enemy, the five nearest cactus men turn toward the next two beetles, and shred them with a coordinated spray of needles that each release from their bodies.
The last two beetles, both heavily wounded take to the air, and head out over the grass.
The remaining rapkes watch the beetles' flight path, and then melt back into the grass.

(DM MikeK) - Gremon Saturday April 7th, 2018 11:19:40 AM
At Zanderallen’s greeting, the elf gives off an involuntary snort/sob, and waves off the Cactus Guys. The Cactus Guys swarm onto the deck of the vessel, disappear below decks, and begin throwing rope, block, and tackle up onto the deck.
With this activity going on in the background, the elf nods to the paladin with a kind of half grin.
“It is rather apparent you’re not of Sargrass,” he notes with a hint of amusement, before sobering again. “I am Gremon, of the Druids. My thanks for your assistance. With a glance at Dorbin and Stohp, he pulls two odd looking wooden flasks from a pouch, and holds them out to Zanderallen.
“These potions will help those affected by the rapke’s bite,” he offers, and then sweeps an arm back to indicate the dead scorpion. “And you may reap the equipment of the Abomination and his mount. With our thanks.”
Gremon turns back and gives Zanderallen a thoughtful look. “The Druids oppose the Bloodweed,” he remarks. “But we have not found a means to destroy it. Forgive me, but you do not seem powerful enough to succeed where we have failed. What aid do you seek?”
Micah Highlight to display spoiler: { Gremon is sincere in his offer to aid the Shields, and means no harm in the offering of the potions. Stock cuts a claw from the rapke. He’s not going to win any awards for his technique, but a sharp knife and brute strength eventually succeed in parting claw from corpse.

Micah approaches the fallen tree, as Bartomus takes Gremon up on his offer about the fallen elf’s equipment.
Micah channels healing, helping his friends. But, as feared, the plant creature is beyond his help. Gremon gives Micah a nod of understanding, before turning toward the approaching Stock.
By the time the dwarf is done with his greeting, Gremon’s countenance has hardened considerably. The druid looks at the proffered paw, gives Stock an ice cold stare, and quite deliberately turns to address Zanderallen.
It takes him a moment to collect himself, and then a couple more moments as he thinks through the paladin’s words. “The Claw is rumored to be at the Demon’s Den,” he replies thoughtfully. “It is also said to be cursed.”
“However, if you believe it can defeat the BloodWeed, my friends and I can take you to the Den,” he offers, glaring at Stock as he emphasizes his relationship with the Cactus Guys. “I suppose all of you will be going?” he asks Zanderallen, pointedly.
Meanwhile, Bartomus finds quite a haul of magic and gold on the elf and the scorpion.

Bartomus began poking about the bodies of the scorpion and its rider. At first he was a bit hesitant, but when he saw the pearl on the scorpion, his hesitation passed. He started to pull off items that he could see he had a value. After a few minutes, he had a fairly large pile of items he thought were valuable. Then in the inner saddle bag on the dead scorpion, he found a giant sack of gold coins. He looked at the find and then picked up one of the coins and stared at it.
"Um, guys, uh, guys, I think I could use some help here," Bartomus said to his fellow Shields.

Stohp goes over at Bart's call and looks at the haversack. It seems an odd item to be carrying around, unless...
She puts her hand in it, trying to see if it's one of those bags of holding or whatever that she's heard up.
Stock (JonM) HP: 55/65; AC: 19/13/16; CMB: 12; CMD: 25 Tuesday April 10th, 2018 9:50:30 AM "No offense intended, Master Elf and I do thank you for your aid in that scuffle."
Stock bows his way out of the conversation.
Sheesh, elves can be stuffy.
He then goes over to Zanderallen and Micah and holds up the claw. "So you guys don't think this will help?"
After their reply he heads over to Bartomus and offers the claw. "Hey Bart, you're good with stuff like this. Think you could carve something cool on this...maybe put it on a chain for a necklace?" Stock offers the claw to the taur.
Dorbin (JeffO) [AC:13/13/10 HP:20/40 CMD:15] d4=3 ; Tuesday April 10th, 2018 3:50:47 PM
Dorbin takes the flask carefully and drinks it down, feeling the poison leave his body (restore 3 points!). He holds onto the flask and looks to see if the elf wants the flask back. It seems nice, made of wood, but he will give it back if it appears he should.
He bends over and whispers in the ear of his leopard. It casually wanders off, heading towards the tall grasses, sniffing the air. It disappears as it reaches the grass.
When Bart calls out for help, Dorbin makes his way over and casts detect magic on the pile that Bart has built.

Bartomus turned to Stock when he heard the dwarf approach. He looked at the freshly acquired rapke claw that he held out to Bartomus. Taking it into his fingers, Bartomus looked at it and then looked back at the dwarf, "Making it wearable would be easy. Sure, I could do that for you. Though with everything here, you may want to make that a gold chain."

"Did you ship receive any damage during the attack," he asks taking a look at an inexpert eye. "Among us we have some with woodworking skills."
Seeing that Dorbin is attending to identifying any potential magic objects, Micah continues to engage their seeming benefactor. "The name 'Demon's Den' sounds ominous. What can you tell us about it and its purported curse?"

Resisting the urge to smack Stock across his gruff dwarven mouth, if he could reach it in his enlarged state, Zanderallen allows some of that frustration to show to Gremon. He picks up on the druid's connection to the plant creatures and notices how many fell in the fight. Berating himself for not noticing sooner Zander tries to smooth ruffled feelings and offer condolences, "We would appreciate the guidance there, and we trust the source of our quest to end the bloodweed. But don't let us rush you, I see you have lost several companions in this battle. Take any time you need to honor them. They died bravely, protecting what is good, may Domi bless and guide them in the life to come." Gremon nods in thanks to Zanderallen, both for the blessing and the time.
To Micah, he replies, "The crew are good sailors, and falling foul of an unfortunately placed clearing is not unheard of, so we are prepared." Even as he speaks, the Cactus Guys have constructed a kind of tower and are using it as a fulcrum to hoist the boat back on top of the grass, where it appears to hover a few inches above the grass tops.
"I know nothing of the Den, other than its name. The Claw is said to contain a curse the strips the life of any who hold it."
The Cactus Guys are gathering up the bodies of their comrades and building a kind of pyre from the wood of the fulcrum.
Dorbin finds all the items Bart collected are magical. Bart also find 50 non-magical arrows, should any archers be interested. Stohp finds the Haversack is indeed magical, with lots more room inside than expected (Handy Haversack). Bart and Stock discuss the best method for mounting claws on jewelry.

Dorbin and Micah do a fine job of identifying the magic items.
By the time they are done, and Stock is finishing hacking out rapke claws, Gremon and the Cactus Guys have finished whatever they’re doing. The pyre burns with the dead.
Gremon indicates a rope netting that now dangles from the ship above, and he and the Cactus Guys scramble up it onto the ship. They clearly expect you to follow. By this time, Stock has reverted to his normal size.

As they loaded up the items that they had found, Bartomus listened to Dorbin and Micah as they went through the items.
"Eberyon, you said, Eberyon, I know him." There was a sparkle in Bartomus eyes as he tapped the carved acorn that was dangling from his horn. When they were asked to climb up the dangling net, he looked about and sighed. He took his time and tried to find the right place to hold his weight. He moved, slowly pausing right at the top of the net and freezing for a brief second, only to push himself over the edge of the floating ship. He pulled himself up as he moved towards the center of the ship and away the edge. "We won't have to do that too often, right?"

Stock tosses a few of the claws to Sid and then begins climbing up the netting, only losing his footing once or twice. As he climbs on board, he goes to the rail and takes a long look around them at the grasslands and whatever else he can see.

Sid contemplates the bow, but sadly hands it back, perhaps some day he could boost his strength to wield it.
Everyone gets on board and talks about the possibility of demons, curses and the like.
Gremon brings you on board and days pass seamlessly. You get an interesting story from the druid, it has to do with the history of the movement here. it started out as a group of monks who were dedicated to letting the sargrass mutate into whatever it would become. there was a split, the Druids...they believe that the Sargrass must eventually give way to the Forests, while the Manfri, want the Sargrass to remain, eternal. Now it appears the Manfri may have come around to the fact that change is inevitable and trying to prevent it is to invite chaos. Perhaps that is why the strange red weed has started to pop up. Or it could be that one of the barons that controls the various areas of the Sargrass is in truth an avatar of Marteaus. Gremon shrugs at it all. "All I know is that the red weed is not natural and so many of us try to find a way to neutralize it."
You learn more about the grasses of the Sargrass. The Sargrass controls all the water in the area, some of the grasses put down roots to the water table, and if you don't know what you are doing trying to get water from the grasses can kill you with poison. the beings of the plains can smell water for miles and if you camp out on the plain...you can expect an attack every-time you open your water bottle. The Sargrass is broken into a northern half and southern half with a mountain range running east-west as the divide. Toward the West ens is a great sea. Toward the east crystalline mountains.
Some of the specific types of grass are: Purple Grass: This is a thick leafed species growing up to 4 to 12 feet high. It is used to make a brilliant red, blue, and purple dye. Glass Grass: This is a thick and yellow grass when water is present. However, it becomes sharp and brittle when it dries out. In this dry state, it can shatter and cut like glass. Dried roots can be collected, pulverized and distilled a fine liqueur. Steel Grass: This is a thin bladed green grass that is easily woven into buildings and armor shapes. When it is treated with a paste made by the Manfi, it becomes extremely rigid and strong. The Manfri are known for wearing armor that can turn a tempered sword, made from this grass. Wheat Grass: Also called "Chorly" this grass resembles a sunflower the seeds of which can be ground into a dense buttery bread, all parts of the plant are edible. the roots substitute for yucca or potato the stem is full of a watery pulp like prickly pear cactus leaves, and the leaves themselves are like collard or turnip greens. This plant is also known as "Manna of the grasslands. it is widely cultivated.
Gremon points out the wildlife as you sail. Blind (or Prairie) Swallow: This is a sightless bird. It seems to be about the only bird that lives within The Plains. This bird has no eyes and is very tasty when eaten and roasted. Prairie Pig: This is a slug, about the size of a large dog, which again serves as another tasty roasted meal. Baccke (Bounder): This animal looks like an insane cross between a frog and a bulldog. It is about the size of a large horse. It has a huge mouth full of razor-sharp teeth and always seems to be grinning. Great Ranthom: This is a huge grazing animal about the size of a large Orca Whale. It has no teeth. Instead, it has something like an open scoop for a mouth, with the bottom edge being razor sharp. This animal has huge forelegs, but where the back legs should be there is a strange rolling appendage. This animal is rumored to never stop moving from the day it is born until it dies. The raiders like to travel in the wake of these creatures. Doing so allows one to traverse The Plains at ground level, which normally is extremely difficult. Rapke: This beast is a large animal that looks like a cross between a horse and a raptor like dinosaur. The animal is about as large as a small elephant.
At last you come to a circular clearing. Gremon brings the boat to a stop near the edge. Near enough that you can go down the rope netting into the clearing. The clearing is about 100 feet in diameter. You can see a dark hole in the near the center. You can also see near the center a strange bird like statue with something stacked around it. picture

Bartomus listened to and took in the sites from the flying ship's deck. The creatures and the grasses were so different from where he had been raised, that it just added to the other-worldliness of the experience. The creatures that they saw were at times frightening and awe inspiring. The Great Ranthom moved through the grasses in much the same way that the giant beetles they had encountered in the forests about the lake.
When their journey had come to its end, the ship hovered over a clearing and he watched as the crew tossed the netting over the ship's side. "Gremon, thank you for the passage and sharing your knowledge of everything we have seen. It has been a journey that I will truly never forget."
Bartomus then ensured he had his kit together, then he made a judicious climb down to the clearing to join Stock. "Rope, yea, uh, rope, I think we are going to need that for sure."

DM Robert - the Rabbit Hole Saturday April 14th, 2018 10:09:51 AM picture that should work.
Stock peers down the hole. It is about 10 feet in diameter. He immediately notices that a strong breeze is coming up the hole and it smells terrible. It is rough looking, definitely not worked stone and it descends down further than his 60 feet of darkvision can see. Might be wanting some more checks on the hole, perception, knowledge nature, knowledge engineering, knowledge what the heezy is going on here.
Bartomus and Gremon exchange fare wells. Gremon asks "Do you need me stay til your return?"
Bartomus notes that the statue seems to be carved of one piece of stone, he can find no seems. However, it was definitely worked by and expert, in his time. Bartomus notes that the "stone" appears fairly weathered...like centuries worth of weathering. Maybe an appraise check to see what type of greenish stone this could be. The statue is about 8 feet tall and surrounded by ancient human sized skulls. The skulls are old and weather-worn, perhaps as old as the statue?
Dorbin finishes making his recordings of the Sargrass.
Gremon nods at Zanderallen's words. He shrugs. "Are you in need of a ride once you finish whatever it is you're doing?"
Zanderallen cannot make heads or tails of any religious significance of the statue. It looks birdlike though.
Stohp searches around and declares there are no pitfalls, traps, or the like in the area. Still leery of actually touching the statue she hurls a rock at it. And watches it sail majestically past the statues' head.

Bartomus looks over the statue and realizes it is a solid piece of jade. It is probably in the neighborhood of 300 pounds or so. That much jade, would be quite the haul in terms of wealth.
Stohp looks down the tunnel. It is about 10 foot in diameter. It is stone, not earth. However it looks rough, so either unworked or just very old and weathered. Again there is a flow of warm air coming from the tunnel, and it stinks like rotten eggs. There is a faint yellow crustrations on sporadically on the walls of the tunnel. Mostly where there are small upraised imperfections in the stone. The hole appears to go straight down.
Micah looks for a light source and Dorbin hands him a now lit stone. (moving things along because we are a little behind on the timer). Dropping the stone down the tunnel you can see it plummet and then strike dirt. You estimate the tunnel to be 80 feet down and opening into a larger cave or something.
Stock gets some rope ready. He looks around for something to anchor it to… a piton…a 300 pound rock…? Though in reality how sturdy is that statue. The base is way smaller than the top, maybe if it was tipped over, beak first.
Dorbin is pretty sure nothing magical created the tunnel/hole or the statue. He’s also pretty sure you’re not in the wold anymore so bets are off when dealing with strange things. He thinks as is the statue may fetch 5 or 6 THOUSAND gold pieces from some collector of aborignee art. Of course moving and carrying it would be an issue. And of course, there may be dealing with who or whatever, put it there in the first place. While Dorbin can’t really make out anything from the hole with everyone crowding around, he has come up with a what the heezy’s going on theory. 1 – someone created that statue a long long time ago. Also someone put a bunch of heads at the base of the statue, maybe marking it with enemies heads to denote some sort of border. But the tunnel, well now he’s got an idea. The hot air continually coming out, the smell or rotten eggs. the yellow powder that crusted on here and there. Most likely this is some sort of volcanic vent! But that makes no sense because you’re in the plains of the Sargrass, except there are mountain ranges a ways off, this could be some sort of off shoot tunnel though. Hopefully not leading to Hell.
Zanderallen starts to concentrate for evil aura’s. After several minutes of concentrating and rotating around, he reports the area is clear.
Sid determines that the hole is stable and should not collapse. It’s not made of earth but appears to be stone, though irregular, and not shaped.
Micah (John) HP: 35/52 AC: 23/12/23 CMD:17 Monday April 16th, 2018 8:37:50 PM "Eighty feet down," states Micah, "Not a trivial climb."
He looks at the statue for a moment, then comments, "Not knowing the significance of that statue, I am not inclined to damage or desecrate it arbitrarily. I suggest we drive an anchor and tie off." With the last statement he draws his tool hammer and a coil of rope from his backpack and looks to the others for a spike or stake which he will then drive into the ground.
Bartomus(Rod) HP: 34/34 AC: 13 (11+2); Perc+7;Heal+8 Monday April 16th, 2018 11:35:52 PM "Jade, yea," Bartomus said at first a bit hesitantly, then as he looked it over closer he was certain. "It's jade, pure jade, do you realize how valuable it is?"
When Micah and others raised their hesitancy about doing anything to the statue, Bartomus looked it over again and had to agree. Totems on the plains were things not to be touched, not to be disrespected. This was like that, but it was old, so much older. He made a simple bow to the statute and then turned to Micah.
"You honestly think Stohp and I will be able to be lowered down on that rope, that far? " Bartomus asked as he looked at the hole, Micah and then back at the others.

Stohp looks up from her position by the hole at Bart's question. "This is small enough we'll barely fit. The rope won't help any, but we can brace ourselves against the back wall. As long as we got first or last it'll be fine, we don't want to fall on top of anyone else going down."
Stock (JonM) HP: 65/65; AC: 22/14/19; CMB: 10; CMD: 23 Tuesday April 17th, 2018 9:44:35 AM "HA! Yeah if I go first you taurs are last. The last thing I want is a couple thousand pounds following me down the hole."
Stock re-attaches his rope to the outside of his pack and uses it to lash his flail in place. He then clambers over to the hole, cracks his knuckles and begins to descend.
"See you guys down in the pit."

Bartomus watched as Stock worked his way down into the hole. He shook his head and then said, "Ok, so we're doing this."
He nodded at Stohp, "it makes sense we go last, hey Stock, can you tell us if we can shimmy down that hole like Stohp says?''
Dorbin (JeffO) [AC:13/13/10 HP:25/40 CMD:15] Tuesday April 17th, 2018 10:14:21 AM

Blinking and glancing back and forth between Stock and Sid clambering down the side and Micah standing holding tools and rope Zander just grins,"Well Micah looks like we have to shift for ourselves. My warhammer should work as a stout anchor, drive it in and wedge in between some of these rocks. And my rope should get us the rest of the way down." Uncoiling his rope he lashes his 50ft with Micah's and help him anchor it with his hammer. Testing the weight he begins his descent. It's not pretty to watch but Zander eventually makes his way to the bottom, with only a little bit of screaming. ------------------------------------------- (4 succesful climb checks made, no checks failed by 5 or more so no falling. barely... )
Micah (John) HP: 35/52 AC: 23/12/23 CMD:17 Tuesday April 17th, 2018 8:35:37 PM
Micah remembers his experience on the cargo net. That was not an eighty foot drop. When the others have descended he pulls up enough rope to wrap around himself two times. Gripping the rope with his glove hands he slowly lets out slack, letting the friction around his armored waist slow his descent. Once at the bottom, he unwraps himself.
DM Robert - the Rabbit Hole Tuesday April 17th, 2018 9:01:55 PM
The party proceeds down. I need a marching order, for future reference as to who's in the lead, and what light sources there are.
The hole leads down to a tunnel. You proceed forward, as there is no backwards because the hole marks the beginning of the tunnel. This tunnel is about 11 feet in diameter. It is pretty circular, so no flat floor. You surmise it may have been an ancient lava tube. There is a enough room to shuffle and squeeze around.
After a few minutes everyone needs to make a fortitude 10 roll or become nauseous. That sulfur smell is getting bad.
After traveling about 2000 yards in a seeming random winding fashion then you come to a large hole in the ground. (see map) This hole is about 55 feet across. You can see this because there is a red glow coming from the bottom of the hole. About 200 feet down you can see lava. To your left you note a narrow, like 2 feet wide, ledge that runs 20 feet gently upward. From the end of the ledge you can see a rickety wood and vine bridge stretching east-west across the lave pit. (That's the green lines and the dotted lines). It looks like the 'bridge' goes across to another landing. You can faintly see worked stone and wooden doors beyond.
From what you can see here, that rope bridge looks pretty old.
Stock (JonM) HP: 65/65; AC: 22/14/19; CMB: 10; CMD: 23 d20+9=10 ; d20+5=16 ; d20+9=19 ; Wednesday April 18th, 2018 9:33:49 AM "Strange mix of natural formations and ancient civilization. I guess we can assume that the lava doesn't come spilling out all that often if that bridge is still hanging there..."
He walks up to the bridge and starts testing the ropes...shaking them...pulling on them to see how sturdy they are.
Stock wipes the sweat from his forehead and asks, "Can any of you guys tell if this will carry...our...weight?" He is intentionally trying not to look too hard at the two taurs in the group.
========== Stock will let Sid go first...unless Stock's darkvision is needed on point. Speaking of which, is it dark except for the glow from the lake of lava?
Fortitude 10 - That was closer than it needed to be Not sure how applicable these are but the other two checks are: Profession Carpenter 16 - how sturdy is it? Perception 19 - Stock is examining the bridge

Bartomus shimmied down the rock tube and found his footing at the bottom where the growing smell of time and sulfur assaulted his nose as he followed along with the others in front of him. He paused when he could see the opening down to the lava and the narrow passage up to the rope bridge that dangled over the lava pit below.
"Um, ok, so we are doing that too?"

Micah will take a position behind Zanderallen before Dorbin. His mace glows like a torch, so we hold it ready. He is not excited about that bridge but will let others more able decide what to do.

Stohp (Mitch) HP: 12/45hp AC: 19/13/15 CMB: +9 (11 w/flail on disarm/trip) CMD: 19 +2 vs grapple, disarm (2 dex damage) Wednesday April 18th, 2018 7:35:06 PM
Stohp is somewhere middle of the pack, somewhat towards the front so she can get into grapple/disarm range as needed, but behind the main melee chars. She can't really see up ahead past everyone to the obstacle they face, though from the way they suddenly stopped she can guess there have been complications. She grips her weapon for a moment before forcing herself to relax. If it was an enemy they'd presumably be more weapon drawing and shouting.
DM Robert - the very warmd Rabbit Hole Wednesday April 18th, 2018 8:29:27 PM OOC only Zanderallen gave me actual map cordinates, the rest of you are in assumed positions, 1 based on what you have had your characters say or do, and 2 it's a narrow tunnel not everyone can fit up front. In fact Bartomus is technically squeezing, thus part of him is in the stone. And 3 you are not in rounds...yet... ;)
Stock quickly takes the lead (to walk the ledge to the rope bridge is an acrobatics 10 check, you are allowed to take 10, I forgot to mention that so Stock is free of it for this time) He surveys the bridge and is both impressed and stressed, impressed that such a construction has lasted so long, stressed because it's seen better days. His keen eyes notes the dry rot on some of the boards. The vines are somewhat brittle as well. He guesses that the bridge would only hold maybe 190 pounds, and it would take an ACROBATICS 20 to cross. There are no hand rails or ropes, though Stock does note that there are deep set iron pitons in the rock currently holding the bridge ropes up and some extra for what may have one been hand ropes to help cross. Perhaps if someone could cross carrying extra ropes a more secure and sturdy crossing could be made.
Bartomus looks worriedly into the pit of lava.
Dorbin feels like this whole thing could be a trap. (Did Dorbin pick up the rock he cast light on?)
Zanderallen surveys the 'room' and shakes his head.
Micah lets others try and think of a way through. (He remembers long ago when the Silver Shields started, in fact before they named themselves, being in dank dark sewers in the Float and having to use a wand of reduce person to get through things...)if that wand was on a former party member that is no longer with you I will allow that somehow it wound up in a bag of holding long forgotten about.

Sid looks at the rope bridge, "I'm got 50' of hemp rope, I could tie off one end here and the other end on the otherside. If someone gives me another rope I can bolster the vines and start to make it safer. And maybe make a handhold rail.
Bartomus(Rod) HP: 34/34 AC: 13 (11+2); Perc+7;Heal+8 d20+7=21 ; Thursday April 19th, 2018 1:13:28 AM "Didn't realize we were going to be going into a pit, so no rope with me," Bartomus said as he tried to squeeze himself against the tube's walls. "That bridge won't hold a taur, not even a remote possibility."
======= Fortitude Roll - 21; try to let others pass until we can figure out a means of getting taurs across
Sid(Andrew) HP: 34/34; AC: 17/15/13; CMB: 2; CMD: 16) Thursday April 19th, 2018 2:10:39 AM
Sid thinks a moment, "Is there a way to shrink the Taurs? I know we can make Stock a giant among dwarves, but does it go the other way as well?"
Stock (JonM) HP: 65/65; AC: 22/14/19; CMB: 10; CMD: 23 Thursday April 19th, 2018 9:35:13 AM "Good idea Sid. My guess is that the bridge could hold a Sid...maybe with a halfling on top. I have rope and at least Zanderallen has rope."
Stock removes the rope from his pack and offers it to Sid.
"I'm also thinking that Sid is the only one of us that is nimble enough to make it across."
Dorbin (JeffO) [AC:13/13/10 HP:25/40 CMD:15] Thursday April 19th, 2018 10:17:02 AM
Dorbin says, "I have no way to make anyone smaller, sorry. I guess I should have. I don't know how to get across that. I could create a servant, but I don't know how well they could tie off another rope on the other side."
Zanderallen (Zachary H) HP: 67/67 AC: 23 T: 11 FF: 22 CMD: 20 d100=41 ; Thursday April 19th, 2018 5:33:51 PM I think that is our best bet Sid. Hopefully we can get enough rope across to support us all. Let's tie you off so in case you fall hopefully Stock and I can pull you back over before you get too crispy.", Zanderallen braces himself at his current position with the rope tied to Sid, ready to yank him back if he should happen to fall. -------------------------------------- (Stock wins the amulet, 41)
Micah (John) HP: 35/52 AC: 23/12/23 CMD:17 Thursday April 19th, 2018 7:52:56 PM "Good plans," agrees Micah. He moves up to assist Zanderallen and Stock, prepared to use divine magic if warranted.
DM Robert - the very warm Rabbit Hole Thursday April 19th, 2018 9:21:18 PM OOC I will allow a 50 rope to have sufficient extra length to tie off at either end. How many ropes are there?
It would take too moves (if in rounds) to cross the bridge, Sid needs to make 2 Acrobatics 20 to cross safely. Fail by 5 or more and a board breaks beneath you, reflex save 10 to not fall. Fail Acrobatics by 10 or more and you have lost your balance and are falling.
Stock being at the top of the bridge holds one rope attached to Sid. Sid wipes his hands nervously and prepares. (OOC If Sid falls you have to make a strength check of 15 to hold the rope tight and save him).
Bartomus clearly does not think the party has enough rope to support his weight. If only there was a levitation spell or something.
Dorbin contemplates and comments that he has no way to make someone smaller. Unseen Servant is not going to be much help. Floating disk....well that would only support about 600 pounds. How heavy is a taur?
Zanderallen wants to be the anchor for Sid, but is told that the rope is not long enough to act as an anchor from there if Sid is to make it all the way across. He would have to move up and maybe act as an anchor for Stock who is near enough to the rope length for Sid to make it across.
Micah comments that the plan seems sound. Still he thinks he is forgetting something.
Stohp seems lost in thought, what goes through the girls mind in dangerous times? Is she remembering how her and her sister first joined the Silver Shields, before they were even named, and them having to go through the sewers of the Float and having reduce person cast on them from that wand they found...now where could that wand be? Or is she wishing her hat of disguise actually was not an illusionary based magic item and could actually work to make her smaller.
Sid(Andrew) HP: 34/34; AC: 17/15/13; CMB: 2; CMD: 16) d20+13=29 ; d20+13=19 ; Thursday April 19th, 2018 11:02:42 PM
Sid will wait until he has been given a rope, and will use the one from his haversack to do the way back unless he is told that there are no other ropes and then will use his own. Once enroppened, he nimbly crosses the way and ties off the rope. IF he still has his rope he canters back, a little whibbly at one point before catching himself and continuing on.
"Alright then, I suggest someone light goes over, checks my knot(s) and we get going." Sid hands the rope end for someone else to tie-off.
Stock (JonM) HP: 65/65; AC: 22/14/19; CMB: 10; CMD: 23 Friday April 20th, 2018 9:39:04 AM
Watching Sid skip across the chasm, Stock can't help but be impressed. Grinning and looking at the others, it looks like he isn't the only one.
"Dorbin - isn't that one of those reducing wands sticking out of your pack? I remember shoving it in there when I was organizing the pantry back at the HQ...how long ago was that anyway? Seems like months ago..."
While Sid's return trip isn't quite as flashy, Stock is pretty sure he couldn't do so well. Stock will help tie off the ends of the rope and then head across, taking care to hop over the boards that look like they are in the worst shape. ======= Re: How many ropes do we have? Sid, Stock, Zanderallen, Stohp and Micah...Looks like Stohp's and Micah's are even silk...fancy. Take 10 twice for 14's on acrobatics to cross - I'll roll if you make me... Bartomus watched as Sid took the rope and walked across the rickety bridge. He realized he was holding his breath when Sid reached the other side and he let out a big breath. He did the same as Sid walked back, and began to wobble mid-span. Bartomus' eyes went wide as he watched Sid regain his balance and rock a bit on the bridge.
"Well done, Sid, well done," the taur said when Sid came back to the landing from which he had started. "Now if only we could figure out how taur's could fly or loose a lot of weight."

Dorbin looks up absentmindedly and says, "What? The where, now?" He spins around, trying to get to his pack a moment before he realizes that he can take it off. When he does, he spots the wand. He says, "Oh, this one? I completely forgot about that one. Good news, everybody! Who wants to be smaller?"
OOC: Dorbin will use the wand to cast reduce person on the taurs or anyone else that wants it.
Micah (John) HP: 35/52 AC: 23/12/23 CMD:17 Saturday April 21st, 2018 8:03:43 AM
Micah smiles in relief as Sid makes it over. Seeing the taurs reduced in size there appears to be nothing more to do than cross. Being the least nimble of any of the Shields, he cautiously crosses the bridge, taking his time.
DM Robert - the very warm Rabbit Hole Saturday April 21st, 2018 10:24:27 AM
Sid secures 3? ropes. That will reduce your travel across check to Acrobatics 10. If you go slow you can cross....1 at a time. yes you can take 10 to cross, hmm can you take 20, that armor check penalty doesn't go away does it?
Dorbin uses his wand to reduce the Taurs in size. Bartomus is relieved at last of their current concern. Stohp is apprised of Sid's daring acrobatics.
Everyone one has been so concerned with getting the rope bridge fixed, no one really paid attention to the other side. (Have you looked at the map?) The two red lines are the CLOSED double doors. They open outward...if they open, no one has checked them. That means you need to get those doors open before you can really get EVERYONE across the bridge.
However in the interest of time, I'm going to say that SID checked for traps and found none and then opened the door.
I have once again positioned your characters on the map. Please remember to say where your character is.
The doors open slowly and only with Stock's added strength. Stock can see it is a hallway of some sort, worked stone, and two double doors at the end. Sid can see dimly ahead from the light of the lava. There appears to be some sort of large 10x10 tiles on the floor of different color, white and gray. He can only see about 10 feet forward, unless he has some sort of light source. The air smells musty, probably because it has been sealed up for so long.
Bartomus(Rod) HP: 34/34 AC: 13 (11+2); Perc+7;Heal+8 Saturday April 21st, 2018 10:26:12 AM "Well Stohp, seems they have some ropes across, and we are going to get to experience life as a calfling all over again," Bartomus said over his should as he nodded to Dorbin. "Ok, wand waver, let's try out being small for a while."
When the burst of energy hit him, he didn't feel anything then it started like a cold chill that runs up your back all of the sudden. He shivered and shook the feeling away and as he did so, his body contracted inward and downward all at the same time. It surprised him, and he let out a "hey" that sounded more like a pre-adolescent yelp.
He looked about and then at his hands. "Well, small it is, then. Almost makes you wonder," he smirked and then walked towards the bridge. He proceeded to tie his glaive across his pack, then used the ropes and his time to choose his steps wisely.

Sid, who is still in front after three trips calls back, "I'll check the door and start moving forward. You lot make sure you don't thud on the lava. It is apparently very hard and very hot." Sid looks over the doors carefully as Stock makes his way across.
Sid says to Stock, "I think the door is safe, but by Floydd's awl, it's heavy. Once Stock pushes open the door Sid peers inside and takes out a torch and lights it with his eyes closed and hands it to stock. "Hold this and stay behind me."
Once Stock takes the torch Sid gently pushes him behind him and shields his peripheral vision from the torch and gazes upon the hallway.

Looking at the still precarious crossing Zanderallen is thankful for the nimbleness of others in the group. Not one to let a challenge stop him he heads straight out once Sid has opened the doors and cleared a landing. "Always knew I should have joined the circus." His confidence is not backed up by his skills however. Almost immediately he takes a bad slip and it looks all over as he begins plummeting towards the lava. Stock grunts as he pushes the doors open. He turns around just in time to see Zanderallen nearly end up in the lava.
"Hey Z. Next time take your armor off. It might be easier."
He turns back to the hallway and peers down into the darkness. To Sid he says, "This place looks like it was built for your skills. I'll let you know if anything stands out in the stonework."

Dorbin casts the spells and then looks at the wand as if seeing it for the first time (again). He shrugs and puts it back in the folds of his robes where it quickly disappears.
He watches the others move across the bridge. He gasps when Zanderallen almost falls, but then notices that Emily Jasmine has apparently been walking back and forth across the bridge at will, almost laughing at the group. When it is his turn, he carefully holds onto the ropes and takes tiny steps, trying to ignore the cat walking along with him, almost laughing at his efforts (taking 20).
Zanderallen (Zachary H) HP: 67/67 AC: 23 T: 11 FF: 22 CMD: 20 Monday April 23rd, 2018 5:36:33 PM
Both grinning and glaring at Stock as he waits for the rest of the Shields to make it across, Zanderallen catches his breath. Still working on slowing his heart rate down he bites back a comment, deciding it's not worth it.
Micah (John) HP: 35/52 AC: 23/12/23 CMD:17 Monday April 23rd, 2018 7:31:18 PM
Micah's breath catches when Zanderallen slips.
Stock's suggestion has merit, but donning and doffing his plate mail might require more time than they have now that they have entered this area.
He crosses last, unrolling his bedroll and wrapped it around himself and one of the ropes to serve as a safety harness. He crosses slowly, but does avoids a molten swim.
======= He crosses when there is space available. Micah will likely end at P 10 where he refolds and repacks his bedding.

OOC - I have to work late on Mondays so I don't have full access to stuff. But I can post from work and waiting to get home and post when I do have access would make it a late night for me and so.... I can't put anything on the map. Plus because of Time constraints....
Sid checks the hallway for traps. He determines that at one time there may indeed have been some sort of trap mechanism under several of the tiles (so yes the traps were 10x10). However, age and possible seismic shifts have caused them all to be disabled. The Hallway is clear! He proceeds generally down to the door. (the double red lines at AB 9 and 10).
Please let me know whereabouts on the map you will be at the end of this turn. Yes the doors are not open, No Sid has not checked those for traps or locks.
Bartomus contemplates the new view point. He crosses the bridge.
Stohp crosses the rope bridge slowly and carefully.
Stock scans the stonework. Definitely no pit traps here. The stone work was okay, but certainly not up to the higher standard of dwarves.
Zanderallen attempts to cross the rope bridge. Cruel fate mocks him as his fingers slip and begins to plummet, But apparently this is not how he's going to end his life, because he desperately grabs at the ropes and succeeds in holding on and then continues across.
Dorbin's heart hammers in his chest as he watches Zanderallen almost fall to a fiery death. He eyes Emily with perhaps a touch of exasperation. Then he very slowly and very carefully crosses the bridge.

Sid motions everyone to come forward, thinking of several possible "all clear" gestures for future use, and makes his way to the next set of doors, if possible, and search for traps and open it if possible. Closely he studies the area, his pulse a dim, slow beat in his ears as he extends every sense he has to the task at hand, slowly, deliberately using the lightest touch imaginably to find the truths and secrets hidden within the door, the walls, the floor and ceiling, each minuscule movement a genuflection to Wardd as he sets about his work.
Stock (JonM) HP: 65/65; AC: 22/14/19; CMB: 10; CMD: 23 Tuesday April 24th, 2018 9:46:46 AM
Stock follows closely behind Sid to the door, holding the torch up high behind the elf as he scans every inch of the door and surrounding walls, ceiling and floor.
Assuming it's clear and the door gets unlocked. Stock helps to push the large doors open but again lets Sid take the forward position.
"Two sets of double doors, a trapped hallway, a rickety bridge over lava...I'm not sure what to make of this."

Dorbin moves along with the rest of the group, assuming he stays in the middle as they approach the new doors (so about W8). When Bart asks about the size wearing off, Dorbin waves his hand and Bart quickly turns back to normal size.
Micah moves forward and stops a bit of a distance away while Sid checks and opens the doors. His shield is back on. In his right hand he holds his mace, currently using its enchanted light as a torch.

DM Robert - it's getting cooler now Tuesday April 24th, 2018 8:38:19 PM
Sid inspects the door. It again is a large double door, about 8 foot high, made of some sort of dark wood and reinforced with brass. Sid wonders briefly what kind of wood it is. (Appraise anyone or knowledge nature) Sid is absolutely certain there are no traps on the door. He checks for it being locked...but finds there are no locks. Since there are no visible hinges it must swing inward. He pushes lightly to no effect.
Bartomus walks into the hallway and complains about his size. Dorbin dismisses the spell and Bart suddenly enlarges to his normal size.
Micah moves forward adding his lighted mace to the effect of the torch.
Zanderallen stands in the rear, barely off the rope bridge. Perhaps his near fatal fall has cast some fear on progressing further.
Stohp stands beside Zanderallen, looking him in the eye without having to bend down. Perhaps she is concerned with his mental state.
The doors seem either heavy or stuck, Sid is not sure, any muscle up front to open them?

Zanderallen rushes forward his sense of dread forgotten.
Stock steps up and flexes against the door. Stupid door blocking their way. Door needs to go Hulk Smash. Rage boils up.
Bartomus steps up and prepares to lend a hand.
Micah squeezes in and pats Zanderallen on the back for added strength. But because of Bartomus's largeness can't go where he intended.
Sid steps back to inspect the engineering of the door. He's pretty sure it opens inward. Perhaps in the ages since it was built things have just settled...?
The heavy black wood doors (reinforced with bronze fittings) cannot stand up to the rage in the dwarves heart and the purity (with some Minotaur help) of the paladins. Though admittedly the dwarf did push harder and his side swung wide open and banged in the wall behind.
You stare into another room. However this room appears to have 4 alcoves, well 3 and one double alcove. There are pedestals in each alcove. There is faint light in the room (which will be explained shortly). Pedestal 1 is a helmet of some kind. Pedestal 2 has what appears to be a flaming longsword upon it. Pedestal 3 has a strangely shaped shield on it, perhaps wooden. Pedestal 4 holds a green cloth of some sort (at least that's what you can make out from the doorway where you stand.

DM Robert - tonights episode what's behind door number 4 Thursday April 26th, 2018 9:06:18 PM
Sid scrambles forward, or at least to the forefront and establishes that there are no traps on the floor of the room. He continues around the room examining the pedestals. They appear to be simple marble pedestals. Again they are free of traps. He notes the helm and sword appear to be standard looking. The shield however appears to be woven of something, perhaps it is one of those Sargrass shields. The cloth, looks like green cloth, he can seen there appears to be some embroidery on it in copperish looking thread. However, he does not pick anything up right now. Sid also notes, because he rolled a Nat 20, that there is definitely a concealed door in the back of alcove 4.
Bartomus looks around. Definitely no claw here. The ceiling, well it looks low to Bartomus. He may have to duck a bit. Definitely not up to standard ceiling height.
Zanderallen beings doing the paladin thing, scanning for evil. He is relieved to find there is no evil or more worried that he can find no evil. Who knows. But for now, there is no evil.
Stock follows Sid around the room. A little groggily at first as he is momentarily fatigued by his brief rage. However, he notes nothing unusual in the stone work. It's okay, but definitely lacks that dwarven touch with stone.
Dorbin casts detect magic and is perhaps not surprised that all the items on the pedestals radiate magic. 1 helm 2 sword 3 sargrass shield 4 green cloth
Micah looks about the room from the doorway. He's not sure but he gets the idea that this may be some sort of display of wealth or perhaps heirlooms. Almost like the anti-chamber of an honored burial mound.

DM Robert - tonights episode "To be honest, I have no qualms against grave robbery." Saturday April 28th, 2018 10:46:58 AM
Sid grabs the green cloth. When he picks it up he realizes it's more voluminous than he first thought. It's almost like a robe. He briefly notes the copper embroidery traces into leaves and acorns maybe. Then he checks the secret door determining yet again there are no traps.
Bartomus struggles ahead, unsure of this plan.
Zanderallen grabs the flaming sword and begins to wave it around. He notes that it seems a little blade heavy, and the handle is longer than most longswords he has swung. The quillions are perhaps a trifle longer as well. Never-the-less it feels fine in his hand. A sturdy well made blade good for slashing and maybe some stabbing.
Dorbin examines the helm and shield. The Helm is a Helm of Underwater Action. The shield would by 'human sized' standards be a heavy shield +2 made of Sargrass. He attempts to study the sword and cloth/robe/thing but apparently Zanderallan and Sid's waving them around is causing too much distraction and he cannot identify either. (you missed the target rolls on both).
Stock grabs the Helm of Underwater Action. Then follows Sid.
Stohp looks at the shield. In her present size (human) it would serve as a heavy shield (however, if you go back to your normal large self, it will drop a size category to a light shield, still +2 but the base would change from +2 to +1 for the non-magical defense).
Micah appears lost in thought.
For brevity's sake and because we are unfortunately under a time limit to keep on track with the module...place yourself in front of the red double lines/doors AJ 23 and 24. Yes crossing that threshold will start things and put you in rounds. Also I'm assuming Sid checks for traps, there are none, the door are not locked but they are closed.
The party makes its way down the secret passage into a larger hallway again and finally before two large double doors. These doors are again made of that strange black wood and reinforced with bronze fittings. However, there appears to be some writing carved into the doors.
"Here lies the spirit of our champion, forever watching over the great beast's sole remains in this realm. He vanquished it and in the vanquishing gave all that he was. May his name forever be remembered and honored in his sacrifice to make the Sargrass free of this demon beast's evil."
PS PUT IN YOUR MAP COORDINATES! Oh, heck, time time time, I hate being on someone else's schedule.
Assume the doors are open, but you are in the hallway looking in. Directly across from the doors at the far end of the room you see a column of flame. Within that flame you can see a stone pedestal of some kind and on top of it a rock of some kind, (you can't make out much more because of distance and of course trying to look through the flames). Halfway down either north and south wall of the room you can make out some sort of greenery...a bush of some kind?

Stohp leaves the shield - she isn't one for graverobbing, though if the others want to take it she won't object. They are trying to save the Wold after all and every little bit helps. As they go down the hallway she stays a little bit back of the front and ends up at AG 23.

When Dorbin was able to make him small again, he followed the pathway into an even tighter space that he had to squeeze through to find his way into a larger chamber. The doors were carved with praises of a hero who had apparently done great deeds for the Sargrass. He stood with the others looking into the vast chamber.

Bartomus thinks he needs to be reduced again to get through the hallway. He could squeeze through, but there's no telling what's on the other side. So he resigns himself to again being below stature.
Sid shakes out the cloth and dons it. He sees now it is not a robe, more of a talberd or surcoat, you can see it is embroidered with plant and animal motifs. He then advances into the room weapon at the ready. (you said on a diagonal into the room but AN23 is a straight line forward of the door. I'm placing you at AN 21. Also you can't move and do rapid shot. Rapid shot is a full attack action. You only get one arrow to shoot. Wait for it...)
Zanderallen enters the room flaming weapon at the ready.
Micah tries to determine the properties of the sword Zanderallen has and the surcoat Sid puts on. Alas their nature eludes him. However, he did cast a few prepatory spells and enters the room ready for the sonic blast of a rapke.
Stock downs a potion(s) and enters the room. Prepared to show everyone how a dwarf fights underground.
Dorbin slides around the outer wall of the room.
The two bushes shake and twitch. Then they rise up! A mass of tangled vines and dripping slime rises on two trunk-like legs, reeking of rot and mildew. You hear popping sounds as you realize in standing it broke off many tiny roots that must have been working through the walls and floors to find water. Both of them take 1 movement action to stand 1 action to move forward, with their vines twitching and swinging in the air.
Sid's arrow fires off at Monster 1 - (it being closer) and it is a resounding hit. The arrow smacks in and sinks into the vegetation.

Bartomus moved forward as the plants came to life and rushed towards the Shields. He came to a stop and began casting a spell. His hands and mouth worked in tandem as he made a tight circle with his right hand and the blew on it as he finished. A flame erupted

Almost reflexively he calls upon Domi's power to cast a different spell. He grins grimly as he sees his stout ally enlarge to match the size of their verdant foes.
He steps forward to provide their archer some cover. He calls out to Sid, "Get back and fire at will! He tries not to tense in dread as he anticipates the force he expects will be behind this wooden beast's blows.

Stohp looks into the room and sees the two large plant creatures. Only two? If she can grapple one and keep it out of the fight, that's half the enemies! Unsure if she can unshrink at will, she tries to think big thoughts as she rushes at the more southerly enemy and tries to seize it (31 to grapple - 30 if she's still small).

Then he feels himself beginning to grow. Good old, Micah.
What are those things anyway?
...and then he feels the rage growing. This time it is a protective rage. He is fairly certain that whatever these things are, they pose an existential threat to the Shields. And then there is the claw. Who keeps a stupid claw in a crypt?
He slides over to cover Dorbin and swings his flail twice with all his might. ============= Status Effects: Protection from Evil (not in header...are they evil?), Bull's Strength + Rage + Enlarged (in header) Knowledge Nature - 11; Does Stock Recognize these? Dorbin’s eyes grow as large as saucers as he steps into the room and the bushes rise up, clearly attacking. He freezes for a moment staring at the massive plants, especially because one is headed directly at him!
The ball of fire appears next to the plant and then watches as Stohp runs forward to engage the plant-thing and then Stock runs ahead as well. He mumbles in the strange language of magic and points as the giant plant. Despite the large size, a tiny blob of green acid flies quite high and completely misses. He looks down at Emily Jasmine, hiding behind his legs and says, “You made me miss that!”

Bartomus casts Flaming Sphere (point of order 1- you must specify a target square, 2 you must include save DC's when you cast spells, otherwise I have to take more time to look up your character sheet and try to find it which makes for a cranky DM, 3-last round you Dorbin canceled the reduce spell on you so you take up 4 squares now) and moves into the room.
The bush creatures sidesteps the flaming sphere spell.
Micah casts the ever ready enlarge spell on the ever willing Stock. He then moves forward trying to cover Sid.
Zanderallen moves forward engaging the rotting, slimy, moldy, bush...and casually ignores the creatures feeble attempts to swat at him as he moves through the threatened space. His sword strikes the monster true and slashes the beast. However the flames of his new sword seem to sputter and his as it passes through the very wet mass.
Sid unleashes 2 shots at the monster, but misses on both.
Stohp wants to charge, (You were at AJ23, a charge has to be a straight unobstructed line, I'll allow because of the nature of posting, that you started your charge as Bartomus moved, so you were a hair in front of him, and you slipped by Stock before he enlarged, and so you are at AO28). fortunately, Stohp evades the slashing tentacle as she tries to engage the beasty. She does successfully grapple the creature.
And enlarged now raging Stock swings and creature 2. He wonders briefly what these things are, then realizes he has no idea and does not care, as he embraces the rage. While in rage, a barbarian cannot use any Charisma, Dexterity, or Intelligence based skills(except Acrobatics, Fly, Intimidate, and Ride) or any ability that requires patience or concentration.) His first hit connects successfully! But his second swing is clearly a miss. No they are not evil
Dorbin tries to cast acid arrow at creature 2. He barely misses. Then he sees a reduced size Stohp trying to grapple the monster.
-- The monsters attack. Monster 1: still an unidentified mass of creepy vegetation ignores what's in front of it and attacks Sid. His first tentacle leaps forward finding the sweet spot crit confirmed and hits with the second attack as well. Sid takes 35 points of damage! You're not dead yet. Sid starts to go down, but the monsters tentacles wrap around him and lift him up.
Monster 2: successfully reverse the grapple on Stohp. It embraces the small Minotaur and squeezes. Stohp takes 18 points of damage and is now grappled.

Dorbin sees Stohp trying to fight the massive plant thing, and he sees the plant getting the better of her. He waves his hand and dismisses the reduce, hoping that the sudden change in size will help Stohp with the grappling. He hears the screams from the other plant and area, but can’t really see what’s happening over there in all the excitement. He tries another spell at the creature in front of him, checking to make sure Emily is not in the way, and throws another small blob of acid at it.

DM Robert - tonights episode SPLATTER THE BUTTER d20+3=16 ; 2d6+7=15 ; Wednesday May 2nd, 2018 8:39:35 PM
Stohp squirms trying to reverse the grapple and after 2 attempts succeeds. Now she's got this thing where she wants it. you've been healed adjust your hitpoints please
Micah see's Sid's limp form being lifted toward the mass of vegetation. He calls on Domi's power and heals all the Shields in range.
Zanderallen lets loose with his flaming sword (alas the flame will not be damaging this monstrosity). However both swings connect solidly with the thing. Zanderallen wonders if this is what a chef feels like when he's making a salad.
Bartomus shifts around the ball of flame. Unfortunately the giant bush seems to sense it and keeps out of the way.
Stock embraces his rage and swings into the bush hitting it with awesome might! His Flail cleaves through it and comes out the other side covered in leaves and green chlorophyll. The monster topples over leaving Stohp grasping some vines. Stock second swing takes the monster while it is prone.
Sid snaps back from the abyss of darkness and the shining light. He draws his sword and cuts at the bush holding him. While he hits, it is rather weak, well after all Sid just pulled back from death, a little weakness should be expected right?
Dorbin dismisses the reduce spell on Stohp. Seeing the nearby monster has been soundly thrashed (threshed?) he instead targets monster 1 with his spell. He is happy that acid seems to work on these things.
Monster turn Monster 1 pulls Sid closer and squeezes as Sid is still Grappled. Sid takes 15 points of Constriction damage. (Sid keep up with HP adjustments I believe you are now back to -3). Though Sid does not see it the monster's tentacles and leaves and such appear to be parting near him, as if that is where Sid is going to be deposited inside the beast.
Monster 2 is so dead. That hit is what we used to call in fencing class Splattering the Butter.

Stohp is rather surprised as the sudden growth spurt and the equally sudden creature death. Uncertain for a moment if it's really dead, she hesitates before dropping the corpse.
Then she notices Sid's limp body being held by the other one and rushes over to help, trying to pull the creature off him (26 to assist with any attempt to escape the grapple by Sid)
(Or to grapple it if he somehow actually dies this round)
