Rolth turns to Ramsey, unsure whether he will be pulled along with us by the power of the flute. "We may have to leave soon. Gothruk is already on his way down, if we're going to be teleporting out of this mess, which considering the way the petals a currently being hunted is a good idea, then he dosn't want to leave Ramsay alone to be torn to shreds. He'll quickly scale down (he hadn't got far up anyway) and approach the Minotaur. Hey, come over here, if the flute opens up a portal then you'll go through it with us. If it tried to only teleport us away I'm going to grab tightly so I take you with us.

Back Home - "Red" - DM Matt and John Monday May 21st, 2018 12:52:41 PM
At the sounding of the very first note, time seems to stop around the ship. The rapke’s rapid circling and advance halts, even the tall fronds of grass cease their swaying in the wind. This cessation does not seem to apply to the Petals and Ramsey as all continue with there various tasks on their flight to safety.
The note seems to echo beyond what is played, vibrating more deeply and broadly than mere sound is capable of. The reality around the ship fades as if the colors are being drained, then the shapes disappear as well, leaving being only a gray, featureless expanse, not dark, but neither is it bright.
Then… silence. Above the ship a vortex of magical and wondrous colours similar to the one that brought them to the Plains appears.
It expands, then those colors dim and darken as well as it descends slowly, engulfing the entire ship and everyone aboard it, enshrouding them all in total darkness. After an unknowable period of time the light returns, but without the swirling colors. The Petals along with Ramsey and the ship find themselves back at the crater they left an unknown time ago.
Time must have moved differently in the Sargrass pocket while they were away. A veritable red grass jungle has spread around the meteor impact site. As far as the eye can see the land is under siege from a veritable army of red grass. Trees are struggling to withstand being constricted. Many small structures, such as fences and sign posts, have been plowed under by the onslaught of the expanding grass and remaining fence posts are entwined with blood grass, while larger buildings have had their walls scaled with vines growing on almost every wall and is even beginning to cover some roofs. Will the Isle ever be the same?
Now it seems the time to pull out the book given to you by the Manfri elder and begin the attempt at restoration ritual.
To conduct the ritual, one must touch the claw to the crystal while loudly reciting a set of phrases from the book and another person must simultaneously burn incense near it.
Incense is provided in a pouch on the book’s inner cover.
An immediate issue is the grass is twisted around the crystal, and continues to weave and flow. It will be necessary to untie or pull the grasses aside. Remember that this grass is immune to physical or magical damage.
This is a group activity, each person may make one (and only one) of the following checks this round:
STR: A raw Str check to try and keep the grass away from the crystal DEX: A raw Dex check to wave a stick of incense close to the grass without touching it. At least one person MUST make this check. CON: A raw Con check to hold the crystal in place. INT: Int checks to see how to unknot the grass that is tangled up and binding the crystal. PERFORM: A Performance check. All sorts of performances (except Comedy) can contribute to performing the ritual. At least one person MUST make this check. WIS: A raw WIS check to discern the waving pattern of the grasses and call out advice to those trying to untie/pull it.
To clarify: one person has to perform the chant. One person has to work the incense. All other checks assist in achieving the goal. The more points you accumulate, the better. Multiple characters can choose to do the same task.
Lastly, anyone approaching within 10' of the crystal Highlight to display spoiler: { { There is an antimagic field surrounding it, so none of your magic buffs or spells work, so you will not receive any bonuses from them.} }

Back Home - "The Crystal Strikes Back" - DM Matt and John 2d6=8 ; Wednesday May 23rd, 2018 1:47:18 PM
Rolth begins the incantation, heroically framing the current plight and its significance.
Kiwina steadies the crystal while Tsak expertly waves the incense, taking advantage of the gap in the writhing grass provided by Sable’s exertions with a little help from Gothruk, both of whom are aided by the insight of Elyas, Finnian, and Falco into the pattern behind the grass’s entanglement. The Petals are working together in harmony, each pitching in in their own special way.
As Rolth’s recitation continues, the crystal begins to pulse with the cadence of his speech. As he adds in his description of the Petal’s heroism and commitment to the Wold, a crack appears along the center of the crystal.
The crystal suddenly glows a deeper red and a pulse of black energy, tinged blood-red, bursts from it in an expanding band. As the ring of energy expands, the grass within it lashes at the heroes with razor sharp strands until the energy band passes beyond them.
[Take 8 + 1 bleed, Dex Save DC 15 for half and prevent the bleed damage.]
The band fades in intensity as it extends about a bow shot from its origin.

"What just happen" - DM Matt and John Thursday May 24th, 2018 2:08:18 PM
Gothruk completely avoids damage from the cutting grass and unsuccessfully attempts to staunch the bleeding of Finnian’s wounds.
Elyas sees the energy building up in the crystal as he is studying it and manages to avoid the deepest cuts. He sees the grass lose its frenetic energy after the band of energy is no longer over it, but it retains its original blood red taint.
Finnian avoids the worst of the vegetative onslaught. After the band of energy passes, he notices no significant change in the vegetation. It is still blood red, waving without any visible wind, and expanding over anything in its path.
Sable also dodges most of the grass’ attacks. He manages to apply first aid to Kiwina, stopping the blood flow. Kiwina has no more bleed damage. [OOC: healing and assisting the ritual are each standard actions, so no ritual contribution this round, but see below.]
Tsak covers his face and manages to avoid getting hit in a vital area from the whipping grass.
Concentrating on the crystal, Kiwina doesn't notice the movements of the grass until it slices into him, but does manage to keep his grip on it. Kiwina Highlight to display spoiler: { Kiwina discerns that the crack is structural and feels that the Petals must be making serious progress towards destroying it. }
Falco suffers severely at the onslaught of the agitating grass blades, but does not lose focus. He spots an opening in the writhing weeds.
Despite the pain of the attack Rolth, aided by his allies, soldiers on with the incantation. When he weaves in stories of hearth and home with tales of all that is wonderful in the Wold, the initial crack spreads into a spiderweb of spreading fractures. The faults rapidly spread throughout the entire crystal.
Suddenly it explodes into into tiny pieces, showering the Petals with crystal dust. Emanating from the blast are multiple intensely bright beams of bluish energy spreading upward and outward in a myriad of directions, each one descending back to the Wold, some visibly touching ground, while others appear to do so beyond the horizon.
The Petals can see that the nearest touchdown much have been to another crystal, as it too erupts upon contact from the energy.
Recovering from the blast, they can see the bloodgrass receding rapidly. Like the ripples from a stone dropped in a pond, the red of the bloodgrass is replaced with green of normal vegetation.
Once all visible signs of the tainted vegetation have disappeared, a hush settles over the Wold, then a breeze gently passes over them, caressing each one with a hopeful promise of more days to come.
Everyone gains a total of 1000 xp each. [600 for retrieving the claw and 400 for destroying the crystal.]

A Brief Interlude--DM Post Saturday May 26th, 2018 1:46:43 PM
Kiwina administers first aid to Falco, stopping the bleeding from his wounds.
Rolth humbly discounts his efforts in performing the ritual, thinking it to be too easy.
Tsak Takes a well deserved moment to contemplate their accomplishment and belatedly remembers that the treats might need assistance.
Falco starts gathering some crystal dust .
He and Kiwina discover that among the dust are some larger pieces. All told Falco finds 4000 gp worth of what appears to be high quality rubies!
Finnian expresses skepticism about the safety of the crystal dust.
Gothruk and Sable wish to check for survivors.
Elyas, still taut from the encounter, is reluctant to accept it is over. He senses that something yet remains to be done.
Rolth carefully surveys the areas and notices that there is an additional page stuck to what he thought was the last page of the ritual book.
Opening it, he reads the following:
The curse is lifted, but the threat remains To destroy the root, return to the plains
Surround the danger, Heroes of the Wold To contain the taint, the circle must hold!
Join hands, and speak “Talki donsit, brega freli” – The Land, My Life
And join your fellow heroes, healed and whole, to join the final fight.
[OOC: After completing this recitation all characters are now at full hit points with all spells and abilities restored, as if having spent a full night’s rest and time of preparation.]
Kiwina (Steve M) (40/40 HP | AC:14; Touch:11; Flat:12; CMD:17) | HeP: 2 | Status: None Saturday May 26th, 2018 4:05:38 PM "Any idea how we return to the plains?" Kiwina asks as he helps to collect gems. "Oh, duh. . . It's saying how we do that, by joining hands and speaking those strange words."
Although he has no desire to return to the grasslands, Kiwina joins the others in the recitation. It seems those who thought there was more to do were right after all. When the spell is done, he looks around expectantly to see what new threats they face.

Elyas joins with the other to chant the incantation, and marvels at how well he feels afterwards.
I wonder if these other heroes refer to the other Petals, or those others we say in the first realm we traveled to from the stone? Elyas thinks to himself, but doesn't say anything yet to the others about his wonderings

A Brief Interlude--DM Post Monday May 28th, 2018 8:37:19 PM
The stalwart heroes consider not the option to avoid this call.
Together they join hands and recite the final words.
Before the sound of their voices fades away, the now familiar vortex appears above them once again. Ramsey stares open mouthed, as the swirling colors descend upon the circle of eight heroes. The air around them gently rotates about them as the encircling hues descend. Cloaks whip, locks of hair wanders into eyes or over mouths, manes ripple, then once again the Petals are lifted up and away.
To the Plains they expect to be taken, but to what and for what purpose they do not know...
Rolth Niheow (BatMark) (28/28 HP | AC: 14; Touch: 11; CMD: 19) | Glaive +5 1d10+4 x3 | Paws (2) +3 1d4+1 x2| Status: None d20+10=13 ; Monday May 28th, 2018 9:20:09 PM
Rolth checks his weapons and gear just a little too excitedly. "Well, look at this. It appears we're going back just in the nick of time. What does that make us? Big darned heroes, ain't we just? I sure hope the ship is coming too..." He looks around as they come out of the portal, looking for friends, foes, and other things of interest. (Perception = 13)

Kiwina steps into the portal, although Falco's words give him pause. As far as he knows, the bloodgrass is sargrass, or at least a form of it. It seems odd to be saving something from itself.
Upon reaching the other side, Kiwina assesses the situation (perception = 23).

Elyas closes his eyes as they go through the vortex, going over spells in his mind to keep from panicking as they rush back towards the problem they have been fighting.
A final battle... I don't know if there ever could be a final battle. always something out there bigger and scarier than the last. How did I get myself wrapped up in this? He says quietly, mostly to himself.

Time for a Change--DM Post Tuesday May 29th, 2018 11:11:16 PM
The vortex raises them up an indiscernible distance through a gray void.
The scene changes.
For those with any sense of vertigo, it might be an unpleasant switch, for the adventurers find themselves dozens of miles above the Sargrass plains.
The entire land is visible, under the violet sky of the Vales of Twilight. The mountain range of crystal runs like a spine down its center.
Then comes the sound. The chanting of the final ritual lines sounds from scores of voices, including, each realizes, their own.
The chant rises in volume. On the far side of the land, a face appears. A smiling woman of surpassing beauty smiles and nods once. Knowledge Religion DC 15 Highlight to display spoiler: { It is Maab herself. }
In response to the nod a tremendous rending resounds as the Sargrass Plains lifts up from its resting spot, floating below the group. It shudders a moment before speeding off, leaving a trail of soil and debris in its wake.
As if attached by an unseen cord, the Petals are drawn behind it.
Colors shift blue as the Sargrass and the adventurers speed through uncharted space. As they rush along they see other groups similarly drawn along in its wake. At unheard of speeds, the Sargrass and its followers dash through clouds and mist, first of purple hue, then in white cloud, blue sky, and yellow suns.
The Petals find themselves above the Wold, whisking away across an endless expanse of ocean, and then land again, in a duration of mere minutes.
A tremendous boom rattles the cosmos, as the land below breaks apart and peels away, forming a gigantic chasm.
Into that chasm, the Sargrass approaches, hovers, drops. The shockwave of the landing rushes out across the rest to the Wold in a visible circle of force.
And then silence.
The Sargrass is returned to the Wold.
And now the party rushes downward, hurtling toward the ground.

Scene 5 - The Return of the Sarr!
Time for a Change--DM Post Wednesday May 30th, 2018 10:25:21 PM
Each Petal realizes that they are not actually free falling, but rather, their descent is steady and easy, slowed by some unseen force. The Petals land easily on their feet where they find themselves standing on the wide open plain very much like the Sargrass they visited, tall grass and all. To the west they can see a huge range of crystal mountains.
They also are not alone. They can count eight other small groups of people standing in these plains. Each party stands equally spaced so as to form a huge circle. The group opposite of the Petals appears to be about three quarters of a mile away . The group to either side is about a quarter mile away.
Sable and Kiwina Highlight to display spoiler: { You see that the group to your left is about the same number as you and mostly medium sized humanoids. To your right the group is similarly numbered but you count two of what appear to be minotaurs. Other groups are too distant to make out any details.}
There is writhing bloodweed all about, but it retracts back to a single point forming a huge - and still growing - mound of blood tinted grass at the center of the circle about two thousand feet away from the Petals. The grass gathers, growing into a brobdingnagian creature formed of red vines and grass and humanoid in shape . The vegetation that composes the creature is an endless mess of writhing red tendrils and undulating blades. This behemoth stands nearly four hundred feet tall and spans one hundred fifty feet wide at its shoulders..
The creature roars!
In a loud voice it screams, “MY HOME! MY HOME! MY CHILDREN!” Each Petal hears this scream in his native tongue.
Sense Motive DC20: Highlight to display spoiler: {It too is confused and hurt.} Sense Motive DC30: Highlight to display spoiler: {It is actually also insane.} Know Religion DC20: Highlight to display spoiler: {It is an immortal power! }
An army of hundreds of various bloodweed creatures and other monsters erupts from the Power’s body, going in all directions. The creatures run toward the various groups, ignoring the hindering effect of the thick grass. The oncoming monsters have 2,000 feet to cross before reaching the Petals. Perception DC15: Highlight to display spoiler: {The Power itself shrinks slightly as monsters wriggle out of it.}
The group rushing toward the Petals is speeding through the grass. A small group moves faster than the rest of the monster, breaking ahead and closing the distance to the petals.
Once more, the clear voice of Mahyawu sounds in your heads. “You MUST HOLD the Circle! Should it be broken, all will perish!”
It's like the orb we fought on the ship, it's getting smaller as it births the creatures! Tsak yells. He then sights the group rushing toward the petals and fires at the first one which comes within range of his crossbow.

Charge of the Dark Brigade--DM Post Thursday May 31st, 2018 8:53:08 PM
A mass of monsters head in all directions. As they approach the boundary of the circle, the creatures appear to converge on the various groups defending the perimeter, including the Petals. Of those heading their way one groups breaks ahead as it is moving faster than the others.
The group speeding ahead appears to be a small cavalry unit about twelve strong. Two rounds elapse before they come into range, then two more before they can close. They are coming at breakneck speed and, although it would be difficult for any of the Petals, the grass impedes their approach not at all.
As they near, you realize that the mounts are bloodsoaked wolves, while the riders are little men, vicious in appearance, with flapping black cloaks of utter darkness snapping in the wind of their charge. You see in them as well as their mounts, the taint of the bloodgrass mutation. Riders and wolves howl in harmony as they bear down on the waiting Petals.
Tsak’s bolt shoots wide.
Kiwina has his longspear set for a charge. Roll for attack, calling rider or wolf. Roll damage in case it hits their AC, recalling that a longspear set against a charge does double damage.
Gothruk stands ready. Next post your attacks will apply. Call rider or mount for each. The riders are armored, bear a shield, and wield small lances, while the wolves have tough skin, sharp teeth dripping in blood, but no armor.
Sable fires his bow before switching to his greatsword. First and second round apply as that is all the time they are in range before being engaged. Call rider or mount. The 19 hits either. (It appears damage is 12?). The greatsword will apply next round.
Rolth’s attack will apply next post. Only if you have reach, call rider or mount for the AoO.
Falco has three rounds of actions before the riders engage should he so desire.
Elyas Casts shield on himself and magic weapon on his crossbow. Just as the riders arrive, he uses Protective Ward on his allies.
Finnian casts magic fang on [Who?] His second shot hits [call rider or mount and roll damage]. Finnian Highlight to display spoiler: { both the riders and the wolves appear to have the bloodgrass mutation. Additionally, the wolves appear to be wolves and the riders some goblinoid race.}

With a roar to outmatch the howls, Rolth swings his glaive with reach at the wolf mount when the opportunity presents itself. (To recap, he hit AC 14 (not including the AC penalty for charging) for 13 hp of damage.) He will gladly accept the magic fang from Finnian if Finnian so chooses. Gothruk's first attack will be against a rider, the rest towards the mounts, limiting their mobility and letting the riders fall off at high-speed. If riders who's mounts have been killed come within range he'll attack them too, or if they try to get up from prone. I agree that Rolth should have the magic fang, he goes crazy with his claws and bite.
Finnian (Zeke) (HP:23/27; AC: 16; Touch: 13; Flat: 13; CMD: 17) Status: None d8+1=2 ; d20+4=17 ; d20+4=9 ; d8+1=8 ; d8+1=4 ; Friday June 1st, 2018 4:25:52 PM
[2 damage to the same mount that Sable shot at] [Rolth can take the magic fang, +1 to attacks a damage rolls for 1 minute]
Finnian then aims at the mount he had previously shot and fires two quick shots at it. Attack = 17 - Damage = 8 (+1 if within 30 feet to attack and damage) Attack=9 - Damage = 4 (+1 if within 30 feet to attack and damage)
Kiwina strikes at a wolf, but though his attack connects, it does not pierce the creature’s thick hide.
Rolth connects a solid hit against a charging wolf as it closes. The glaive cuts deep, but the wolf continues to fight. [the gingerbread’s protection does not seem to benefit against these creatures. But wait; there’s more…Continue to denote it]
Sable hits another wolf, but his attack is not fatal either.
Falco steps back and takes a shot at a rider. His bolt grazes its cheek, draining a line of blood and a blood curdling snarl.
Elya’s shot goes wide.
Tsak fires at the nearest mount scoring a hit.
Finnian concentrates his fire on the same mount Sable is attacking. Between their two attacks the wolf drops from its wounds. Its rider tumbles headlong on to the ground as it falls. [Rider takes 6 points of damage and is prone.]
Those who close with or near Gothruk pay dearly for their advance. He kills a rider and severely wounds one wolf and finishes off the one Tsak hit. When the rider of the felled wolf tries to rise, Gothruk takes the opportunity and takes the rider out of the fight.
Not deterred by the arrows and polearms of the Petals, the riders drive their mounts on. Kiwina, Tsak, and Rolth receive most of the charge, but the numbers hitting Tsak have been depleted.
Two wolves successfully bite Kiwina. The sargrass sickness you have encountered before is clearly dripping from their fangs. Make Fortitude save DC 16 or be sickened. Total damage is 11 hit points. Each wolf tries to wrestle the centaur off his feet, but Kiwina is able to withstand the smaller creature's attempts.
One rider attacking Tsak manages to break through his guard with his spear. (Take 5 points damage.)
Rolf takes a beating from the charge, one rider and three wolves strike home. Try as the might, the wolves cannot get the stalwart liontaur off of his feet. Total damage 16 hitpoints. Make fortitude save DC 16 or be sickened.

Seeing Rolth struck several times Falco's eyes go wide and he whispers before casting a spell.
"Sargrass, do not worry this will come off of you quickly."
He concentrates and summons forth pool of grease under three of the attackers. {ooc: light blue square on map, under 9, 10 & 12}
Tsak faced with opponents at melee range attacks with his sword, skidding harmlessly off the rider’s armor. [Note that the prone mountless rider was killed by Gothruk’s AoO, so your attack was applied to Rider 6 which missed. Either way the prone rider was killed.]
Sable attacks at Wolf 8 on Rolth, missing. [Sable has 10’ reach by nature of his size, so could attack rider/mount 4, 6, or 8. It is Sable’s choice as to which weapon he prefers. Note that either way Sable could still gore. ]
Kiwina switches weapons and attacks Rider 1. [Note that the rider charged last turn so its AC is -2, but this is cancelled out by the sickened condition.
Rolth is a blur of violent action, but not much on effect, scoring only a scratch, albeit a deep one, on wolf 10.
Flames leap from Elyas’ hands, scorching the two wolves and their riders on Kiwina’s right flank. The one wolf, already wounded, collapses from the fiery attack. It’s rider, though badly burned himself, nimbly lands on his feet.
Gothruk strikes wolf 8, sorely, but not fatally, wounding it. Ready to strike an opening, none of the savvy opponents give him one.
Finnian fires a couple of shots at a wolf (#3) harassing Kiwina, his first shot misses, but his second one heroically buries itself into the lupine’s neck. The beast howls in pain and snarls in bloodlust anger.
Falco casts grease under three of the attackers on Rolth.
The wolves and their riders close on Kiwina. The wolves are unable to connect, but two riders manage to score with their spears. The riders lash out with their blood stained mouths to bite at the centaur but are unable to connect. (Kiwina takes 11 points damage total.
The rider on Tsak manages to hit (Tsak take 1 point damage).
Mayhem breaks out around Rolth. Two of the wolves on him fall in Falco’s grease. When they try to stand, Gothruk’s glaive connects on each, killing the one that was previously wounded. Its rider falls off and slips in the slickened grass and is slain by the taurine monk when he tries to stand. The rider on the other fallen wolf is unable to stay on and also slips in the grass.
[Rolth. Please take an AoO either on Rider 10 or Wolf 11] Rolth is hit by Rider 9 (2 points of damage) Rider 10 (5 points of damage) and Wolf 11 (2 points of damage; trip attempt fails) [Note that a successful AoO against a prone Rider 10 or Wolf 11 prevents that damage]
Above the red grass plant colossus thing, giant letters appear in the sky: SIGNAL IF YOU NEED HELP. GOOD LUCK, EVERYONE. SINCERELY, THE IRON DRAGONS.

Those who noticed the woman/spider creature slow down before now realize what caused its earlier hesitation. Originating from a position about one hundred feet away from it, a lightning bolt blasts out, burning an afterimage of its blaze into all looking in that direction, as it strikes the spider creature. Even from this distance, the Petals can smell the ozone of the charged air. The monstrosity screeches in pain.
About forty feet above the ground, racing toward the creature, is what appears to be a whirlwind about six feet tall and the obvious source of the bolt. After firing the bolt, the whirlwind continues to approach, getting to about twenty feet of the spider thing.
About one hundred feet away from the Petals, the spider thing halts its advance to turn and face the new threat. With a gestures of its human-like hand it fires a lightning bolt of its on. Beyond that melee, the drider has apparently decided to disregard the cyclone for now and advances toward the Petals. She ends the round about forty feet away from the closest ones.

Seeing Gothruk and Falco taking care of the last of the wolves Finnian turns his attention to the drider. What a foul creature he thinks to himself before moving out of Rolths way and firing at it. One arrow flies wide, but the other finds it's mark [hit = 21, damage = 7]

Rolth charges the drider and tears into it star, tooth, and claw for 15 points total damage.
Kiwina delivers a coup de grace on the unconscious wolf. The body flexes at the blow then relaxes as its life departs. [the -2 from sickened condition applies to total damage of the attack, so 4 hp of damage]
Tsak engages the drider, but his attack misses the mark.
Sable attacks the drider, but also is unable to score a hit.
Falco hits wolf 12 for 4 points of damage.
Gothruk kills the rider and finishes the job on killing wolf 12.
Finnian takes careful aim at the drider. His second shot sinks solidly into the junction of the humanoid and spider bodies. It spasms, a look of surprise on its face, then all eight legs collapse and its head whips forward, hitting the ground with a resounding thump.
Elyas’ shots fire wide, but the battle is already over.
All enemies have been defeated! …..At least for now.
The cyclone moves toward Rolth. ”A brave attack! Well done worthy warriors and wizards all of you,” he exclaims. It is a bit disconcerting to hear a voice coming from a whirling windstorm with no visible face or mouth. It stops near to him and extends an appendage of whirling mist and dust toward the liontaur. A glow erupts from this extension and passes over to Rolth. It feels warm and soothing and his many wounds heal considerably. Rolth heals 22 hit points.

Rolth thanks the whirlwind and relaxes his rage.
Sable also regroups and proposes Kiwina as the recipient of healing and proposes the use of the wand.
Gothruk seconds the need to heal Kiwina and requests healing from the wand.
Falco enjoys the momentary respite and being in the sargrass.
Tsak gathers his gear and his thoughts and uses the pause to take a healing potion. . Yes, add the 1 to the d8 roll result for 8 points of healing.
Elyas pauses to ponder their position.
Finnian provides some much needed healing to Gothruk.
Adrastos hovers over to Kiwina and reaches out a whirling limb to heal him. Kiwina heals 25 hitpoints.
He then speeds off in the direction of the maddened Sarr gaining elevation as he goes. After a brief pause he returns and lands among the Petals. Before their eyes his form changes. Where the whirlwind was, now stands an elf-life creature a little over six feet tall, lithe yet muscular. On his back hangs a strung bow and quiver and a scimitar rests on his waist. His hair is long and silvery white, so white that it almost sears the retina. His most distinctive features, however, are his eyes. The irises swirl with perpetually changing color, varying with no discernible pattern various shades of blue, green, brown, purple, and gold.
He bows to the group then stands straight as a soldier giving a report, ”I see approaching your position three reptiles draconic in appearance, but only six feet in length. They appear maddened by the bloodgrass corruption and intent upon attack. At the rate they are moving I suspect they will be here in about twenty seconds. Kiwina takes the temporary cessation in hostilities to heal an improve his armor class. He stands ready with his longspear. For your information. A longspear has the brace ability. If you use a readied action to set a brace weapon against a charge, you deal double damage on a successful hit against a charging creature.
Adrastos responds to his request to end his fatigue, ”Alas, this is a power I possess not.’
Tsak accepts the aid of Adrastos and stands ready with his crossbow.
Sable heals up the Petals with the wand and stands ready with his bow.
Falco awaits the appearance of the creatures.
Gothruk clears out some of the corpses and heals a bit.
Finnian casts entangle in front of the Petals.
Elyas prepares to shoot.
Adrastos cheerfully casts blur on Rolth, Kiwina, Tsak, Sable, and Gothruk. He then looks up to check around. He stops his casting and stares intently in the direction of the party to your right. It appears that that group is being attacked by two bipedal lizards nearly forty feet tall. Not too far behind the beasts, creatures that appear to be composed of fire are closing in on those heroes as well.
Adrastos’ shoulders straighten as he raises to his full height, ”I think I am needed elsewhere. Forgive my hasty departure”, and with those words he transforms back to the whirlwind and flies toward the threatened party. ”Fare well,” he calls as he speeds away.
Soon after his departure you see the three lizards you were expecting break cover about sixty feet in front of you. You recognize them as taztylwyrms like you encountered before, but unlike the one that aided you, these are coated and dripping and blood and appear ready to charge.
Tsak, Elyas and Sable may take their shots at the tatzlywyrms when they appear as part of last round’s action. Falco may cast a spell as a readied action if he chooses. In the future, specify what spell you are readying. Finnian scores two shots on the center one.
Because of the entangle the wyrms will not be able to close next round even though all three saved.

Kiwina sets for a charge. They will charge next round, so roll to hit and damage (double damage for set spear).
Sable misses with both shots and switches to greatsword. You will get an attack of opportunity as they close, against their charging AC (AC 13).
Falco casts [i]glitterdust on two of the worms. One stops in confusion, obviously blinded by the light.
Gothruk uses his great reach to cover the front. The writhing grass animated by Finnian’s spell is slowing down their approach, so none of them close yet.
Finnian fails to land a shot and thanks Adrastos.
Elyas hits Wyrm 1 and give a protective ward to those near him.
The wyrms move forward, but are hindered by the entangle spell. One is blinded by the glitterdust. The one on the Petals’ left gets entangled by the vegetation and cannot move forward.
Beyond the tatzylwrms, the sky erupts. The flash of fire and lightning glares brightly followed by a resounding boom that threatens to deafen the Petals. With the sound comes a blast of wind that pushes and tears at everyone and everything in its path.
Then the colossus in the center of the circle calls out in a deep voice that is felt as much as it is heard, ”ALL OF THE SARGRASS IS AT MY COMMAND, MY CHILDREN WILL PROTECT ME! YOU CANNOT WITHSTAND ITS CONCENTRATED POWER!”
You see another eruption and more waves of creatures form in its wake, heading outward in all directions. This time it is much more obvious that the behemoth has decreased in size yet again.

Battlefield control. Round 19--DM Post Monday June 18th, 2018 9:59:27 PM
Kiwina and Rolth are ready for the tatzlywyrms, but the spells prevent any foes from closing this round.
Finnian hits the entangled wyrm 1 twice.
Elyas hits the blinded wyrm 3.
As the center wyrm charges, Gothruk connects with his readied attack, then as it moves forward he connects again, killing it as it reaches the grease area.
Falco attacks the blinded wyrm 3. Numbers did not produce. Try again against AC 11.
Tatzlwyrm 1 Escapes the entangle and moves closer to Kiwina, but is slowed by the entangle.
Tatzlwyrm 2 charges, to be hit by Gothruk’s readied action. Then as it reaches the greased area it slips, but is slain by Gothruk’s AoO before it hits the ground.
Tatzlwrym 3 spends its entire turn getting its vision back. It is no longer blinded and it manages to resist being entangled.
Beyond the wyrms you can see creatures advancing in all directions, including toward the Petals. Anything heading towards the Petals is still too far away to see.

Sable stands ready as wyrm 3 charges he and Rolth. Before the tatzlwyrm can close, he separates its head from its body.
Rolth remains ready to attack, but Sable makes it unnecessary.
Tsak fires but misses.
Falco fires another acid dart, but fails to land it. [i]last round missed, too. Touch AC 10 while charging.
Finnian has found the target and hits wyrm 1 twice, severely wounded it.
Elyas confirms Sables kill on wyrm 3.
Though severely wounded and hindered by the entanglement tatzlwyrm 1 charges toward Kinnian only to be laid low by the ready Gothruk.
Kiwina’s readied attack proves unnecessary.
The Petals have cleared there zone, at least for now.

Given the short respite, you can see what is happening to either side. Judging by the flashing lightning, Adrastos seems to have joined the fray to your right. As you watch, one of the giant lizards topple, apparently slain.
On your left, those heroes continue to be fighting giants and spellcasters. From this distance, it is difficult to tell how the heroes are faring.

Round 22
Kiwina takes a closer look and observes that they are in a region of shorter grass, about knee length to a human that is about two hundred feet in diameter, the Petals being in the approximate center. Beyond this the grass height approaches six to eight feet, making seeing anything approaching farther away than that difficult to see. Kiwina Highlight to display spoiler: { He sees also that a large group of creatures appear to be rapidly approaching, their passage marked by the motion of the grass as they move through it. Rolth enjoys the temporary break.
Falco whispers something then stands with crossbow ready..
Finnian searches through his pack for a potion that he is pretty sure he still has and finds it.

Sable readies a shot.
Elyas stands ready to cast another protective bubble.
Finnian’s senses are intensely focused. Finnian Highlight to display spoiler: { Finnian sees the ants, or course, but more terrifying, there is something very large behind them. He estimates it will be on the Petals in about five rounds. }
The grass parts in a burst of motion. Charging toward the Petals are ants the size of a pony. Sable and Finnian drop the first one with their shots, leaving eleven more remaining. They scurry toward the party, their six legs carrying them rapidly through the grass. That is, until they hit the area of the entangle spell. Seven of them get grabbed by the animated vegetation. The remaining four continue forward, but their progress is impeded. They are now about forty feet in front of the leading Petals and should be able to close next round--provided they, too, are not entangled.

Kiwina stands ready with spear and sword.
Elyas corrects for the size of the ants and fires a successful shot at ant 9.
Gothruk, seeing several insectoids charging towards him prepares to hold the line.
Rolth regains his breath and readies to attack. He reminds Kiwina there charge was to hold the circle.
Finnian warns the others that something big is coming behind the ants. It resembles an elephant but seems bigger than what Finnian recalls. And, it is clearly suffering from the bloodgrass disease. He fires twice and one arrow hits ant 7.
Falco recognizes the beast that is approaching behind the ants. Falco Highlight to display spoiler: {"Looking like an oversized elephant covered in shaggy brown fur, it is clearly a mastodon! Its tusks are deadly and it likes to charge and trample its foes.} He levels his crossbow and fires at ant eight, hitting it between the joints of its chitinous shell.
Ant 8 is the only lead ant to resist the grabbing grass, he runs forward and attacks Rolth who responds with a readied at. Gothruk hits it with his readied attack. That, added to the damage caused by Sable’s, Rolth’s, and Finnian’s attacks, kills it.
Only three of the previously entangled ants were able to break free. They move forward, hindered by the spell.
Closing in rapidly is a giant beast. It towers over the eight foot tall grass. Its head bear two enormous sweeping ivory tusks, flanking a long, prehensile snout. Standing about twelve foot at the shoulder, its body is covered with shaggy brown fur, caked and matted with blood. The elephantine beast is clearly infected with the bloodgrass disease.
As its catches sight of the Petals, it raises its head, lifted its snout high in the air, blaring a blast in rage and defiance, as it continues its charge toward you.

Falco warns about the impending mastodon and takes a shot at one of the ants.
Elyas focuses on the closer foes, but misses with his attack.
Finnian hits ant 7 with his second shot.
Gothruk stands ready for more and ponders elephants and ants. .
The lead ants cannot escape their entanglement. Ants 2 and 11 get grabbed again. Ant 10 charges, manages to stay up through the grease, and survives the readied attacks of Rolth and Gothruk. After this heroic effort to get there, its attack is unable to get through Rolth’s defenses.
Behind these insects, the mastodon continues its charge. As it breaks clear of the tall grass, it shakes its head in rage, releasing another thunderous blast from its massive trunk without slackening in its rush toward the Petals. Gothruk finds his answer as the maddened beast runs right over the ant in its way, squishing it like a bug. It also appears that the clinging vegetation is little match for the thundering bulk as it hurtles toward the Petals, slowed but without much likelihood of it being halted.
As if in reply to the beast’s trumpet, the Sarr issues forth yet another wave of creatures. It significantly depletes itself with this release. The sky between the colossus and the Petals is filled with hundreds of birds, audible even at this distance. They take a moment in apparent confusion, then, seemingly filled with purpose, streak toward the waiting Petals.

Yet another with wings, transforms into a series of flickering bestial shapes.

As you see and hear the three new Immortal Powers of the Sargrass, a mist rises from the Plains and forms into a light grey cloud over the three newborn immortals at the center of your circle. In the rising mists you see the avatars of gods ... a great silver dragon ... a greater gold dragon ... an all-seeing eye ... a waxing moon ... a blue-eyed dove ... and others besides.
"Oh hello!" You jump in alarm as you are greeted by a small fellow who appears in the middle of your group! He was not there a second ago! He is a funny-looking thing, with a body shaped kind of like a strawberry, but with long spindly arms and short spindly legs. He has mud on his feet -- red glowing mud, though the redness fades away after just a moment. Something about him seems a little bit infernal ... the tiny horns? The scaly skin? Something. He thinks to himself, Home, where is home now? Does Liontaur Isle remain? Or is my home wherever I tread with these proud Petals? Or the WLA, which helped us with advice when we were in the Vale of Twilight and will hopefully do so again? Ah, it is too much right now, I think I'll just bask in this glorious day for the nonce! "A question, did you say, why yes, I do believe I have one. How might we best set ourselves on the path to reunite the taur races in Nobility?"

I have a slightly less important question so answer the others first. Do you know why plants dislike this group so much? Elyas is wondering just what might be left of their home after everything. if much time had gone by, there might not me much that can be saved. what between the zombie taurs, blood-crazed treants and critters, and the grass itself... the islands might never be the same.

The little creature looks at Rolth with an impish grin as the liontaur exclaims about his recent experience. In response to his question, he intones pompously, "Noble is as noble does."

Rolth's noble question reminds Kiwina of another question, but as he thinks about it, he realizes it might be Rolth's answer. "Rolth," Kiwina says,"I had a dream the other night. I dreamed of something very like that three-in-one Sarr thing, demanding that we answer its questions. But we responded with a question of our own -- Who will claim the children of Domi? I think we do. We go back, and see if the mixed-taur children are still there, and see that they are accepted, however grudgingly." Maybe he's wrong. The aumakua don't speak as often anymore as they did in his homeland.

Rolth is impressed with Kiwina's insight, and says so. "Perhaps it is so, much like the three aspects of the Sargrass are moving in greater harmony as well. I suggested as much to try to calm the parents earlier, but now I think there is an even greater likelihood that it is true. Once we return, we should look to their fate, and do what we can. Perhaps Elarorn and her family can assist, if they survived."
"Meanwhile, I've a mind to take care of some business after we get home, when the situation permits. We need to visit the Catacombs, if they still exist. And I have some training to catch up on, now that we have sufficient funds. What other things do we need to accomplish, my fellow Petals?"

Epilogue--DM Post Monday July 2nd, 2018 11:57:59 PM
The little guy answers Finnian seriously, ”We are only one and, yes, the treants are safe.”
When Elyas asks how you will return to your island, he replies, ”Like this.”
Suddenly you yourselves in that now familiar gray space, but without first experiencing the whirling colors. In front of you stands Mahyawu, the manfri you first spoke with, holding a bundle of woven cloth that is larger than his diminutive person.
”With much gratitude,” he says as he effortly hands over the bundle. As it is taken, he, but not the bundle, disappears and you find yourselves standing on the deck of the grass sailing ship where you left it.
Soon after your arrival, Ramsey hastily appears from within the captain’s cabin. ”Well, about time. I was starting to worry about you.”
As you unroll the bundle you realize it is a tapestry woven from fine grass fibers. About twelve feet wide by four feet high it depicts a plain of rolling grass. As you change the angle you gaze at it, different creatures appear to roam and fly across it: prairie swallows, a herd of huge grazing creatures with enormous forelegs and a strange rolling rear appendage, an occasional rapke, and an elusive tatzlwyrm. You are not sure how you know this, but you are certain that the cloth is fire resistant.
Within the cloth are several additional items: A cloth bag also made of woven grass that contains several fine emeralds with a total value of 8000 gp.
A masterwork net woven of sargrass. It requires half the time to fold as a normal net. (One round if proficient with a net; two rounds if not.)
A masterwork lute made of hardened grass fibers. The fibers are woven in such a way that on the back of the lute, there appears a herd of wolves posed as if howling in unison. A note is attached by a string with the inscription, ”To Rolth, in appreciation for an epic poem.”
A grass fiber pouch containing a brass disk in the shape of a compass rose about six inches in diameter and half an inch thick. Within the pouch is another, smaller, pouch containing a compass. After a little experimentation it becomes obvious that the compass, rather than pointing north, always points to the disk.

The Petals rightfully take joy in their gifts, each finding something just right for them.
Kiwina already is thinking of finding the horizon as he proposes putting their ship through its paces.
The compass and medallion suggest many potential uses and the Petals begin to explore them.
Ramsey beams at Elyas’ praise. ”Well, I haven’t done much, but I do have something for you,” he says shyly as he rushes below deck. He returns with a giant pot. Judging by the aroma of the vapors visibly rising from it, it appears to be filled with some type of savory stew. ”After you had been gone for awhile, I ventured into the village. When I told them who I worked for and that you stepped through a magic portal to save the Wold, they gave me all kinds of food to have ready for you if...uh, when you returned. I have been keeping something hot for you since then, in case Wold saving proved strenuous. Oh!,” he exclaims, slapping his head and running into the captain’s cabin. He returns with a tray of mugs in one hand and a cask in the other. ”I hope everyone likes ale. It’s very good.”
Anyone brave enough to try the stew will find that it is actually quite tasty. It appears Ramsey possesses a heretofore unknown talent. The ale is also quite tasty though it appears that the cask is about half empty before Ramsey starts filling the mugs.

Let us all eat and drink of this wonderful creation, in praise of Domi the Protector, Domi the Courageous, who has given us the strength to join in saving the Wold."
"Ramsey, how fares the village and the isle? What news of the treants? Of the other inhabitants in Chessford?"

"News would be good, the danger may be over but we might need to help clean up and repair."

It kind if makes sense, each of us are petal of the rose and the ship is the stem-y part that is the centre. It might as well be a member of the group it'self.
Gothruk then tucks into the stew eating a hearty portion.
In response to Falco's question about us staying together he replies, I'm sticking around, I like all of you, couldn't ask for better people to have covering my back. And if this is just the beginning of our adventures then we'll have hundreds of good stories to tell by the time we're old and grey.

As great as the other items one in particular stands out to Finnian. He reaches down and pulls out a beautiful quiver. The alternating greys and browns make the quiver not only functional but a work of art. He throws off an empty quiver and deposits his remaining arrows into the new one. He feels a sense of accomplishment and pride while wearing the quiver, for it represents not only his status as an elite sharpshooter, but also his role in saving the Wold. "I'll need to replinish this" he jokes indicating the pitiful number of arrows poking out of the quiver.
"I too will be staying, but for now I need to get to work." He grabs a mug and takes a swig. Wiping is mouth he adds, "Ramsy this is delicious. Thank you for taking the time to prepare all of this." He stowes his current bow in the compartment in his quiver and draws out the half done bow from his pack. "If you don't mind I really do need to finish this before we run across anything else. My old bow is splintering and has become far to easy to draw." Finnian finds a place to set up and begins working on his bow.

Rolth blinks in surprise at the idea that the Petals might not remain together--it quite literally had not even occurred to him as a possibility. "Finnian and Gothruk, I too fully intend to stick around and continue our good works! Elyas, you might have bloomed later, but are no less a part of this wonderful fellowship. Imagine what we can accomplish together. Falco, my doughty friend, I my heart is warmed that you choose to stay, even though you are uncertain of your own path? He looks like he might break out in song or verse, but then seems too overcome by emotion to speak for a moment...then turns to more practical matters.
"Perhaps the treants can help carry the ship to water? They are quite powerful, and the ship not so large. Then we can make for Chessford, render what assistance is needed, and go shopping in the Catacombs! Kiwina, I like the idea of continuing Ramsey in our company, to help run the ship," he continues in a private aside.
Kiwina (Steve M) (51/51 HP | AC:14; Touch:11; Flat:12; CMD:18) | HeP: 4 | Status: None Thursday July 5th, 2018 10:48:17 AM "Let us finish inspecting the ship first. We encountered her as a flying ship, and need to make sure she is suitably designed for water before we put her in or over it."
Kiwina is also taken aback by the thoight of the Petals spliiting up, although it is not a surprising question. His heart will always lie with the ocean, and he could see others being similarly affected by the Sarr.
(OOC: Have we determined the ship isn't still aloft?)

Gothruk will assist Kiwina in his search of the ship for any obvious problems, he's not that good when it comes to boats but has been on enough during his time as a petal to know roughly how things should be. Perception = 23
Epilogue continued--DM Post Thursday July 5th, 2018 10:06:19 PM
Rolth peppers Ramsey with questions, "How fares the village and the isle? What news of the treants? Of the other inhabitants in Chessford?"
”The village is doing great. When the blood grass died, everyone pitched in and starting repairing everything. The Wanderer’s Roost has a new owner. A little guy by the name of Amaretto. He’s quite the cook and knows his ale.” He emphasizes this last statement with a refill of his mug.
He responds to Elyas, ”Nah, I didn’t make this. I can’t even burn water. Amaretto cooked it up. I’ve just been keeping it hot for you.”
While others consider what to do next, Finnian finally gets some time to finish his bow and Kiwina and Gothruk make a careful inspection of the “Rose.
The ship appears to be a fine one. Double masted with fore and aft decks, its cabins are oversized to accommodate large creatures. The seamless hull is fabricated of tightly woven grass and there is no sign of pitch having ever been applied. Gothruk perceives that the hull is water tight without any sealer needed.
Profession Sailor 15 Highlight to display spoiler: { Although the hull appears water tight, the Rose will still ship water during rain or high seas. There appears to be no means of removing water. Perhaps this was not a problem in the Sargrass, but on the seas it will definitely be an issue. Like a waterborne sailing vessel, there is ballast along the keel that will provide an effective bilge. To add a bilge pump that would solve the issue you estimate it would take four people with tools and materials about a day.}
Elyas (Ben A.) (38/38 HP | AC: 14; Touch:13; Flat: 11; CMD:15) | Light Crossbow +5( 1D8, 19-20) | Status:N d20+6=25 ; Thursday July 5th, 2018 10:41:07 PM
After finishing the excellent meal, Elyas spends some time below-decks and walking around the outside of the fantastical grass-ocean-worthy ship. He takes extensive notes in a book he keeps at his side and spends an hour or so working on calculations. (Profession Sailor check of 25).
Once he has finished a round, he shows some of his sketches to his companions.
It looks to me that this ship was designed specifically for its use on the sar plains. It has no way of removing water in a storm! But look here, it shouldn't be too hard to rig up a bilge pump. we could easily make this in a day
Like Elyas, Kiwina notes the need for a bilge pump. Elyas' sketches look good. "Let's do it." Mentally, he notes that although they found a set of tools onboard when they were modifying the boiler, a set of masterwork tools would make modifications and repairs easier. But he's not going to make that a priority right away.
He continues to look the ship over, making as thorough an inspection as he can. Their lives will depend on the Rose, and he tries to overlook nothing. (Perception = 23, craft ship = 25)

Sable is not sure what the others are talking about needing a pump, but he trusts Kiwana's judgement and will help make the modifications needed on the ship and will recommend they get repair and backup gear for the vessel.

Gothruk, happy with the state of the ship, moves down to his bunk and meditates on the battle they just had, trying to commit as much as possible to memory. The way enemies reacted, which of their blows landed and the emotions that flooded the field of battle.

We certainly would not want to out in a storm with no pump, even just sailing we would take on some water would we not? Sounds like money and time well spent though I have no idea how to do it personally."

Rolth pitches in to help Captain Kiwina with the survey and modification of the ship, excited to be back on the sea soon. During a break he pulls out his new lute, and lovingly strums a few chords, awkwardly at first but with rapid improvement. "You know, I learned a few things from our clan skalds as a cub. It's been a few years, but let's see if I my fingers remember what they are doing." As he plays, he is muttering under his breath. Each of the Petals in turn may be surprised to hear his voice in their ear, as if whispered, yet Rolth remains in his place in the circle of resting adventurers.
Sailing takes me away to where I've always heard it could be Just a dream and the wind to carry me And soon…
(OOC: With real world credit to Christopher Cross, of course. Rolth has made the leap to Bard!)

Finnian works long past exhaustion on his new bow, but the soft song coming from Rolth keeps him going. "who knew you could sing such a sweet tune and be such an imposing force on the battle field" he says in common tauric stumbling a bit over the words "I've been practicing the common tongue while I work" he adds with smile and slight blush.
"This thing here is nearly complete," he says holding up the bow. The dark and light colors swirl in the sunlight and it has a slight red tint to it. "Just a few more finishing touches and it will be ready to test"
"I would like to visit with the treants again. They seemed a bit agitated last time... for good reason of course, but now that the current threat has passed hopefully they will be a bit more pleasant"

(Profession: Sailor=24 Pass) Tsak understands the need for a pump to remove water collected from rain or waves that crest the bow of the ship, and also notes that it is missing. Even though the hull may be water tight, a bilge pump will be required if the petals hope to use their new ship on any size-able expanse of water.. He puts head and hands together with Elyas, Kiwina and Sable to see what can be achieved with the items available.
A welcome (DM John) Saturday July 7th, 2018 7:34:20 AM
The Petals quickly take charge of their new home, the Rose.
Ramsey is excited and delighted to be a part of the activity and manages to be always at hand without ever being in the way.
As the sun gets low in the sky, some sort of commotion appears to be developing from the direction of Chessford.
Is that the sound of war? No, it is the sound of singing that you hear.
It appears the good people of the island have noticed your arrival and are sending a welcoming committee. Complete with banners, song, and, from the looks of it, dancing.
Rolth Niheow (BatMark) (36/36 HP | AC: 14; Touch: 11; CMD: 19) | Glaive +5 1d10+4 x3 | Paws (2) +3 1d4+1 x2| Status: None d20+8=10 ; d20+8=13 ; Saturday July 7th, 2018 11:54:59 AM
Rolth is overjoyed that the village is in good enough shape to be celebrating! Before they arrive, he will comb out his mane with his magical comb. He will add notes from his new lute to the revelers' music, but still seems to be getting used to the thing after a long time away from the instrument. Hopefully it is a forgiving crowd! (Perform: Strings = 10 or 11 if they favor Domi)
If asked, he will be happy to reprise his epic, Charge of the Dark Brigade. He's no Gnym of Gnym yet, but is proud of his first effort, and the story of the Petals' role that day. Otherwise he is happy to mingle with the crowd, seeking out information on the fate of those people and places dear to us. How fares Sandifurr's? Elarorn and family? The local Catacombs branch?
If any of the mixed taur children are present, he will greet them warmly as signs of Domi's favor upon us, and of the coming reunification of the Noble Taurs! He will make a point to dance with them if they would like, and otherwise show the others through his actions how they should be treated well. (If needed, Diplomacy = 13, or 14 with those favoring Domi.)
If the children are not present, he will politely but firmly inquire into their status and location.
Kiwina (Steve M) (51/51 HP | AC:14; Touch:11; Flat:12; CMD:18) | HeP: 4 | Status: None d20+5=15 ; Saturday July 7th, 2018 5:29:38 PM
Kiwina looks through the crowd for faces he is familiar with, and says hello. More, though, he listens for news of local events since the party disappeared, and for news of how the recent chaos affected the other islands, gently steering his conversations towards these topics.
Not to be outdone by Rolth, he tries his hand at telling the tale of their recent battle -- not in epic form, though, just an unvarnished account as he saw it. It's a chance to try out a new skill, and one that he first attempted to use to calm these villagers' children in the nearby caves. (roll: oratory = 15) Wow, not that long ago. It feels like months.
And food. As centaurs always do, he looks for food.
Elyas (Ben A.) (38/38 HP | AC: 14; Touch:13; Flat: 11; CMD:15) | Light Crossbow +5( 1D8, 19-20) | Status:N Sunday July 8th, 2018 2:37:37 PM
Elyas feels a little bit sick to his stomach seeing the crowd coming. He has never quite fit in well on the 'Taur majority island, and doesn't like being the center of attention in general.
He is, however interested to see what has been happening since the Petals left on their quest, so he spends some time asking after those that they helped in the cave, and seeing what became of the half-breed children.
After a short time, he finds himself back on the ship, trying to look busy inspecting the in-progress bilge pump but really just avoiding any more congratulations.

Sable will join in the festivities, but once completed will go visit the Mailed Fist to return the +1 bow from the Fist (I have an extra now) and retrieve my original masterwork spear. Then would like to trade the +1 Battle axe for a +1 Greatsword. Then a swing by the fletcher to purchase 40 arrows to replace those used... (-2 GP).
Finnian (Zeke) (HP:23/27; AC: 16; Touch: 13; Flat: 13; CMD: 17) Status: None Sunday July 8th, 2018 11:29:08 PM
Finnian will head over to the fletcher with Sable and then over to the WLA lodge to finally pay his dues and receive some training.
[ooc: So can I just complete the work on this bow? I should be at maybe 36/56] or keep tracking.

Falco takes a moment to find a small place on the boat he can think of as his own. He spends some time contemplating but beeing the celebration that they are arriving two Falco's questions of his life choices seems to melt into the background.
"A party? Well that sounds like quite the thing now doesn't it. Dancing and drink! The cure for our past adventures I think."
