Sesha takes in their surroundings.

Restlin casts detect magic and asks Dock a question. His own magic items like up like a christmas tree so it seems magic is working here.

Zane volunteers to scout.

Garret plays with some sand as he looks around.

Ber tests the rings. Everyone hears him and they seem to be working. The wonders if whoever sent the message might be nearby.

Wyarr tests his magic as well. He detects no evil and his quiver seems to be working.

Dock makes some noises that Zane interprets to mean its medium humanoid shaped construct body was not equipped with wings.

The Iron Dragons don’t have to wait long for some kind of welcoming committee. A group of humans with various shades of colored hair wearing leather jackets adorned with strange accoutrement ride toward where the portal spat you out on strange vehicles that hover over the desolate landscape.

(Sense Motive: 20: Highlight to display spoiler: { While they appear to be armed with some of the odd weaponry you remember from the Mega Cyber Robo Ninja Man comic they don’t appear to be brandishing it in a threatening manner}

The human on the lead vehicle has a single line of green hair that splits the center of his head.

The riders are 400 feet away and approaching quickly.

Bosk asks Beri about a mirror and takes a peek into the spirit realm.

Wyarr detects evil on the lead rider. He doesn’t register as evil.

You are in a relatively flat area. As stated previously there is metal wreckage and stunted trees scattered throughout the wasteland.

The human in the lead vehicle gets to about a 100 hundred feet out before turning his vehicle to the side and landing. He calls out, “Who goes there? Be ye friend or foe?”

The other riders also stop. While no one makes any overly aggressive moves some do do something with the weapons they are holding. Tink prepares for a fight, just in case.

The lead rider calls out, “My name is Lazer Hawk, this here is my tribe the cyberhawks and if you mean what you said about being a foe to evil and tyranny then yes we are friends as you would all be the enemy of our enemy Dr Henrichzimmerschneit, his annihilator robot body and his 8 robot masters. It isn’t safe to be out in the open, let us take you to our hideout and you can gear up as I’m not sure how effective your primitive looking weapons will be for the inevitable fight when the robot masters catch up with us especially since they are made out of an alloy much stronger than iron. If you are from a low tech world that does not possess advanced technology like ours our doctor can install a chip in your brain that will let you know how to use our weapons as if you’d trained with them for years. It sounds like we are going to need some of those upgrades you mentioned... though I fear that I don't know what "siebern-atic" means. And while our technology may be less advanced than yours, we have other sciences that might be effective. Tell me more about this alloy that this doctor is using, is it vulnerable to anything? Electricity? And are these robots ground troops, or can any of them fly? Oh, actually, let me tell you a little about our "sciences", if the robots have some natural protection against them we'll need to rely more heavily on your technology.

Garret jumps on one of the mechanical mounts.

Zane points out that the taurs may not be able to fit on the things. He’s prepared to fly after them.

Bosk stays quiet and lets the others talk.

Tink is unsure about the cyberchip offer.

Beri can fly but figures he’d better ride along. He asks questions about the tech here.

Restlin can’t resist the bike and hops on.

Sesha can totally resist the bikes and flies along.

Lazerhawk indicates that he wants Beri to ride with him while some of the other dragons double up with some of the Cyberhawks. Sesha, Zane and Bosk make other arrangements.

To Beri Lazerhawk explains, “Cybernetic means a kind of artificial upgrade for your body that makes you tougher, stronger, more agile or enables you to do new things. What was done to Cyber Robo Ninja Man was kind of an extreme case of cybernetic upgrades but he was dead unless they made him what he became.”

“As for this alloy have you ever heard of adamantium? That is what the doctor used to construct his creations and these robots are larger than your bull headed friends so it must have taken a lot for him to harvest enough of it for 8 of them. On top of that each one has its own forcefield, integrated weapon system and unique special attack. Sure they are vulnerable to electric attacks but Dr. Henrichzimmerschneit built these things in such a way that they aren’t affected by most magic. Not sure if you guys use that or not. I mean don’t get me wrong magic is rare here but there are still some who can use it or things like it. Mega Cyber Robo Ninja Man has certain abilities we don’t quite understand but he says they aren’t magic but Mega Cyber Robo Ninja Man sword is a null blade which is kind of a merging of magic and technology. One of the robot masters has one too. As far as I know those are the only 2 in existence and both are integrated into Mega Cyber Robo Ninja Man and the robot master’s body.”

After several minutes you find yourself in sort a hilly area, the cyberhawks take a sharp right turn and arrange themselves in order to ride single file down a pretty well disguised mine shaft. When you reach the bottom of the shaft you are in the cyberhawk’s hideout.

The former mine has been converted into a dwelling of sorts with a living area, sleeping area, kitchen, area where they park the air bikes, training area and a sort of med bay / lab.

Lazerhawk introduces you to a person in the medbay doing something with some kind of intimidating looking instruments.

Lazerhawk says, “This is here is our cybernetic surgeon, Dr. Nick. If you guys want something like the feat slot upgrade let him know and he can install it in you real quick.”

Dr Nick is a shortish human with black hair, a mustache that is mostly stubble and a short beard. He is wearing a lab coat with a purple shirt and pink tie underneath. Upon seeing the newcomers he calls out, “Hi everybody!”

Agatha wastes no time in beating around the bush and says to Dr. Nick, “Hello. I am a scholar from another world that does not possess cybernetics and would like to learn more about it if possible. Is it true your discipline is able to bring beings back from the dead like the case of Mega Cyber Robo Ninja Man? If so do you think it could be applied to a dead god?”

Dr Nick says to Agatha, “A dead god? You mean that figuratively yes? I mean whether the implants take especially in the case of certain procedures involving nanotech and reconstructive surgery then the fitness of the specimen is a factor so if you have a relative Adonis than I would say there is a good chance of the procedure being a success but it requires a lot of study or some cybernetic brain surgery for someone to be skilled enough to pull it off. Also you’d need a fully stocked cybernetics lab as well so even if you learned the skills they prolly wouldn’t help you if cybernetics labs are non existent on your world.”

Agatha replies to Dr. Nick, “No I mean an actual God well the 2 I’m specifically interested in restoring are Goddesses really but that is besides the point. I take it you actually need the remains in order to have the intercession and part of the problem is we don’t really know where dead gods go. Then again maybe it would be better to inspect Mega Cyber Robo Ninja Man first and see the outcome of a cybernetic resurrection up close before researching it too much if it is a dead end for my purposes.”

Dr. Nick asks everyone else, “Is she always like this?”

You seem to have the run of the hideout. What now?.

Garret pokes around sniffing things.

Restlin sings Agatha’s praises and looks at all the interesting tech

Sesha admonishes Agatha to focus on the task at hand.

Wyarr checks the doctor for evil and considers the weapons

Tink asks about the best defenses against the enemy

Beri worries at how useful he’ll be against magic resistant opponents.

Bosk is all ready to load up on new tech and wonders if he’ll be able to play piano after he gets an implant.

The things Garret smells are like nothing he’s ever smelt before but the components in the cybernetics lab are inedible. The hideout does have a kitchen though…

Restlin looks through what the Lazerhawks have. Dr Nick pulls up some things on a screen projected in air and then shows the mage priest how to use the console. (OOC: Pretty much any weapon except the null blade, any implant plus the feat slot as for other high tech items please ask specifically)

Agatha says to Sesha, “Mega Cyber Robo Ninja Man does not appear to be here right now, so while examining him may be important, learning what I can about these techniques could pay dividends later, but the machines Sprocket and I have worked out are much more primitive than the items here. I kind of wish Sprocket had decided to take this journey as he’s much better with machines.”

Lazer Hawk says to Zane, “Well that is certainly one way to deal with them, tell me do you turn into an actual fire breathing dragon? We don’t have any of those here.”

Wyaar does not detect evil on Nick.

Lazerhawk says to Tink, “We’ve fought Dr. Henrichzimmerschneit robot minions in the past but these robot masters are something else. The problem is the 8 masters are all different, some are range fighters while others get close up and personal. Honestly I’d suggest seeing the master’s preferred method of attack and do the opposite. If they are a range fighter get in their face and if they are a melee combatant keep your distance.”

Lazerhawk says to Beri, “It’s rumored that magic was tested against the masters and a spell was found that did slow them down but I’m not sure which one it was.”

Know [Arcana] : DC 35 Highlight to display spoiler: {You remember Adamantite Golems can be effected by transmute metal to wood as if it was a slowing effect and any other spell that does not allow spell resistance. Perhaps the masters have similar weaknesses. }

As for the other stuff, I like the sound of that forcefield thing, as powerful as i can get and those one shot missile things, I'll just carry as many as I can. Got any in my size?"

Sesha is uncertain with adding any of this stuff to her body. Some of it seems like it might be useful back home, but she isn't quite ready to suddenly trust her life and those of her comrades to weapons and artifice she did not know.

"The med-lance. I can put a potion in it and inject someone else, right?"

Other than that, she would much rather focus on finding spells that affect the robo-men and robo-masters.

"Do spells that affect the environment, say, repel metal work against them?"

Otherwise at a loss, it seems as if she is going to be taking the augment and transmute approach.

"Mage-Priest, can you scribe me a scroll of Transformation?"

She looks more closely at the gear.

That monowhip might be perfect for someone of small stature and little strength. Since she knows how to use a whip it also means no implant needed.

An EMP Pistol and Laser Pistol would both be handy ranged weapons for her.

Veedmod goggles could certainly be handy for her scouting

A neurocam could create a 'backup' Tink.

A Robojack could probably help against robots

Signal Jammers could perhaps limit control against things attacking the party

A Trauma Pack Plus would mean someone other than Sesha could cast Breath of Life. A very handy 'just in case' spell.

She also eyes the Cortex gun and checks to see if they have any Mark IV canisters lying around.

The party would also likely need a good pile of batteries as well.

Garret watches Tink review the gear. He figures he probably needs two things: one for up close and one for ranged. He likes the idea of the healing stuff because with his speed, he might be able to get to people to heal them and with the strange firepower, he imagines any of the dragons could be the big offensive fighter.

Choose Your Weapons... (DM Hugh)
Friday October 5th, 2018 7:07:24 PM

Garret indicates he wants the feat upgrade and then asks what weapons would be good up close.

Lazerhawk says to Garret, “We can give you a chainsaw, a laser torch, a monowhip, a stun baton or any of a number of pistols.”

Zane is a little dubious about getting the implant and then asks about forcefields and rocket launchers.

Lazerhawk says to Zane, “We can 3D print rocket launchers in your size, each one will weigh 20 pounds, have 10 rounds and do more damage than a standard rocket launcher. (8d6) We also have the capacity to make cold and electric rounds. How much can you carry? We can print multiple launchers and just strap them to your back. As for force fields we carry brown through prismatic and will get you a prismatic.”

Wyaar opts for the implant but no weapons and a prismatic forcefield of his own.

Lazerhawk says to Wyaar, “Would you like some explosive arrows for your bow? If so what type would you like?” (OOC: Arrow shaped grenades that can be launched from a bow)

Sesha is also dubious and asks if the medlance can inject potions and if the masters might be affected by environmental spells and if Restlin can give her a scroll of transformation.

Lazerhawk says to Sesha, “Yes the medlance can inject potions, if you have them but we generally don’t. As for your magic question potentially, though you seem to be more knowledgeable in that so maybe one of your companions can answer that.”

Restlin eyes the enhancements and answers Sesha’s question negatively before asking Tink if she has transformation.

Tink gathers a small pile of equipment consisting of a monowhip, an emp pistol and a laser pistol, vee mod goggles (what color?), a robojack, signal jammer, trauma pack plus, and a mark IV cortex gun as well as a lot of batteries. She goes for the neurocam but Lazerhawk says, “We don’t have clone pods or the ability to upload a stored consciousness to a robot so you probably won’t need that.”
Tink them tells the others what she remembers about adamantine golems and how maybe their weaknesses are built into the robot masters.

Bosk tries to make sense of the offerings.

Garret thinks about getting things for up close, ranged and fast healing.

Lazer Hawk, and the rest of the cyberhawks get to work scrounging up the requested gear while Dr. Nick beckons those of you interested in the cybernetic enhancements to get in line for his operating table.

Some of the iron dragons have as yet to make up their minds.

I think in addition to the much needed cybernetic implant I'll go with the rail gun and a force field. Also, a few of those EMP grenades in case I get pinned down.

I forgot to ask where we are going, will we be needing any access cards/lock coder, a Signal Jammer, E-Pick?
And do any of the masters use an attack that would require the use of a Filter Mask?

DM Mitch

Restlin ponders if the application of enough cybernetics could turn one into a construct. He thinks it might be possible but major pieces would have to be outright replaced. He thinks to consult with Dr. Nick and this is his reply, “What you ask is possible but you’d have to replace most if not all of your vital organs and it could take weeks for everything to stabilize. We really don’t have that kind of time.”

Tink accepts most of the gear but replaces the cortex gun for a holographic generator (prismatic are available) She suggests gravity clips and asks what the plan is for heading out.

Lazerhawk says, “Yes we will wait here overnight then rendezvous with Mega Robo Cyber Ninja Man at the rendezvous point. We can then strategize how to take down the Robot Masters. Mega Cyber Robo Ninja Man has been running interference with them while we recruited allies.”

Bosk debates the merits of a rail gun or gravity clip.

Zane informs Lazerhawk that he can indeed turn into a dragon.

Wyaar accepts some exploding arrows. (OOC: I said we are reskinning some of the grenades as arrows that can be shot from a bow; hence exploding arrows. Pick your payload from the grenade section.)

Beri opts for the feat chip, the railgun and a force field as well as some EMP grenades. He asks if it would be wise to take signal jammers, e-picks, or access cards and if any of the masters have an attack that a filter mask could help with. Lazerhawk says, “I know not on what battlefield we will challenge the robot masters but e-picks or access cards could come in handy depending on where we are. As for the filter mask, nothing we’ve seen from the masters yet seems like you would need one.

Bosk asks if they will be vulnerable to EMP if they get the implant, Nick says, “If all you have is the brain chip you won’t but if you replaced major organs with cybernetic then it could. Your gear could be negatively affected by EMP.“

You still have some time between now and morning, what do you do? There’s a ruckas in the back of the base; it seems the guy you brought along has woken up from the sleep spell so someone should go check on him.

Sesha says she can hold a dragon form longer than Zane and brings up the getting harness and gear together for larger weapons. She also grabs a medlance and a prismatic force field generator and things to create a harness.

Wyaar will pursue the arrow selection.

Restlin fails his empathy check and berrates Chuck. Not that Chuck hears it since he fled into his room already and locked the door behind him.

Garret wanders into the room, revving his chainsaw as he goes, trying to get the other Dragons attention.

Sesha finds Restlin’s ideas to be disturbing and urges his lover to calm down arguing that Chuck is not as terrible as many of others they’ve met in their adventurers and likens what Chuck did to adventurers holding onto magic items instead of selling them for money for food for villages.

Zane explains he brought Chuck in order to hopefully have a way to get back from Chuck’s world and then home. He also points out that someone else in that world could also hear about Ninjaman.

Wyaar opts for the local and then says maybe Chuck has additional insight.

Dr. Nick motions for Wyaar to lay face down on the table. He sprays something on the back of Wyaar’s head that makes it feel numb. “Hold still.” Dr Nick says as he pushes some buttons on a console and a rather scary looking device with all sorts of instruments comes down from the ceiling. The procedure feels weird. Wyaar doesn’t so much as feel any pain but he does feel some pressure as Dr. Nick manipulates the device to rest just above Wyaar’s head and some instruments are used on the paladin. About a half hour after Nick started he says, “The feat chip has been installed. You should find you know how to use our weapons as if you had been training with them for a while. Go to the range and test it out. Post operation Wyaar does feel a little less hail after the ordeal (1 con damage).but he seems to know all about the operation and maintenance of pistols, rifles, heavy weapons and grenades.

Beri was having a hard time hearing conversation while Garret was revving his chain saw and then manages to catch the tail end where Zane explains why he grabbed chuck. Beri informs chuck he has his black mirror device.

Chuck may or may not be listening from inside his room but you get no response. The door guard recognizes the device though. ”That’s a laptop. He probably uses it to write his stories.”

Tink asks how difficult it would be to return Chuck to his home when they finished and tries to reassure him. She can’t put her arm on his shoulder though since he’s locked in his room.

Dr. Nick says to Bosk, “Please wait your turn, Wyaar already volunteered to go first, but I can take you second.”

After Nick finishes with Wyaar he presses some buttons and the table resizes itself to fit Bosk’s large frame. While he’s doing that the tool platform retracts back up into the ceiling and you can hear odd noises coming from where it retracted to. Nick says, “Got to re sterilize the equipment between procedures. Um are you a mutant?” Nick asks Bosk, “I mean your large size and bovine facial structure potentially suggest you are but maybe your world has different creatures? I mean theoretically I can do the procedure on you and your winged cousin over there (indicating Zane) It’s just typically I do this on humans and I’m not sure how your anatomy may differ.”

Agatha hears of Nick’s trouble and then proceeds to give him a lecture on how Minotaur anatomy differs from human anatomy at least structurally going so far as to draw some diagrams on paper that Nick gave to her on request.

Nick says, “Please assist me with the surgery on anyone who isn’t human as you may know more about their physiology than I do.”

Agatha says, “Well I wanted to learn about cybertechnology so this gives me a front row seat.”

Nick says, “It seems like the minotaur brain while having an enlarged optical cortex and medulla oblongata compared to a human brain is otherwise fairly similar so we shouldn’t have too much of a problem.” (Perception: 25 Highlight to display spoiler: {Nick seems to have whispered to himself something about the minotaur Medulla Oblongata being in line with that of an alligator})

Nick then proceeds to spray Bosk’s head with the substance used on Wyaar and then lowers the tool caddy over Bosk’s head before doing something that feels weird to Bosk. Agatha acts as his nurse mostly just answering any questions he has while asking some of her own. It takes about double the time it took him on Wyaar but when he is done Bosk too feels a little drained (1 constituition damage) but finds that he can think about the various weapons in the catalog and know how they function.

“Who is next?” Nick asks

He observes the implantation of machinery into his friends' brains, wondering how much knowledge Agatha will be able to gather. Will she be able to do something similar in their own world?

He also finds a moment to practice casting a few cantrips away from Agatha's device. Does magic function at all in this world without it?

Well Beri, he can do scans on me while I shift my head. Since I can shift that portion alone a few times each day he can study it in the process if he needs." Zane offers.

He holds out his left hand and arm, the partial change starts near his elbow. A ripple of scales flows down his arm and covers the back of his hand. His skin turns to a bronze colored leather and his finger nails lengthen, become extremely hard and super sharp talons almost a foot in length.
He holds the change for a few seconds and the process reverses until his hand is normal, at least for a Minotaur.
"I can do that with my entire head, a couple times. If it'll help determine if it's safe for use shifters, I'll make myself available for you to examine."

Sesha also tries a weaker polymorph spell, becoming a large silver dragon. It would give the others a chance to test riding from her back and firing on the go.

(Dear DM, the goal here is to work out kinks to remove any penalties from an "unusual mount." The harness and practice and Sesha being an intelligent creature should hopefully manage to wipe out that penalty. If not, I understand. Also, does the force field work while Sesha is polymorphed?)

Tink winces as all the head surgery takes place. Messing with someone's head with magic seems more natural than sticking bits of metal in there.

She keeps an eye on the proceedings to make sure none of the party start acting unpredictably when the chips are inserted. Detecting such behaviour with Garret may be a challenge.

DM Mitch

Garret puts the chainsaw down carving a small divet in the floor of the cave nefor volunteering to go next. With Agatha helping the procedure goes fairly quickly and Garret finds himself a little worn by the ordeal (1 con damage)

(OOC: Apologizing for not making this clear Agatha turned off the magic field after the portal closed, magic while rare is a thing here. Remember the 2 null blades that exist are part magical.)

Restlin calms down and tries to figure out what Agatha can glean. He also casts some spells jut to verify his magic works which he finds they function as normal.

Beri asks Nick about how transformations will effect the chip.

Dr. Nick says, “So your gear merges with your form? Hmmm maybe I can modify the chip to have some nanites that will keep the chip a chip while you transform.”

Zane volunteers to act as a guinea pig for Dr. Nick so they can gauge how the chip will effect shifters. The caddy comes down as Zane partially transforms his head and Nick runs the caddy over Zane’s head presumably taking some scans. Dr. Nick then presses buttons on the console while the scans show up on the projected screen. Dr. Nick makes a chip show up on the minotaur side and then runs simulations showing the minotaur head becoming dragon while the chip disappears. Dr. Nick runs this simulation multiple times each time using a slightly different chip design. Finally a chip stays in chip form from the transition between minotaur and dragon. Dr Nick says, “I think I have a design that will work, it just will take longer to implant than a standard chip and also longer to fabricate. How many more of you need a shifting chip?”

Sesha compliments Restlin on his self control and promises to reward him when they get back home. She then enlists his aid in figuring out how to turn her as a dragon into a mobile weapons platform. She is happy to find the forcefield working on her dragon form when the generator is placed in the harness and that when flying straight she can provide enough stability that the weapons can be used without difficulty, however if aerial evasive maneuvers are needed then difficulty could arise.

Bosk asks Dr. Nick more about the nature of the weaponry and if Dr. Nick knows if an anti-technology field exists.

Tink winces in sympathy and watches those that have chips for any odd behavior.

Dr. Nick says, “Well some of the weapons are what you would call alchemical, relying on chemical propellant to cause a projectile to travel to the target, others use focused beams of energy to do damage while others have different means of doing damage. However all these weapons are technological and many require electronics to function. The problem with electronics is that they are vulnerable to EMP so if you get hit with an EMP it is possible that your weapons could be damaged by it and stop working all together. Some weapons actual project either targeted EMPs or EMPs over a wide area like in the case of a nuke but I don’t think The Robot Masters would be stupid enough to use a nuke in a close range fight.”

It would appear any difficulties in chip implantation have been worked out and after the nanite feat chip is created it becomes successfully implanted in Zane’s head after Zane too gets sprayed with the substance used on the others. Zane too feels strange after the procedure and also feels a little tired post operation (1 con damage)

Dr. Nick looks around at the party. ”Who’s next? Is that everyone who wants a chip?”

Garret’’s eyes light up when he sees Sesha turn into a dragon as he volunteers his expertise.

Restlin asks if EMP effects robots and tries to figure out what chain lightning would do.

Dr. Nick says, “EMP effects robots, chain lightning would effect a normal robot but the masters are far from normal.”

Wyaar uses lay upon hands.

Beri says he also needs a chip.

Zane fingers where his chip got implanted, weighs in on Chuck and then sets out to find food.

Tink has no intention of being chipped (OOC: what type of vee mod goggles did Tink want? You never answered)

Bosk asks if it is possible to create a field that disables robots while enabling their powers.

Dr. Nick says “Possibly but you would need a highly skilled technician and magical user and a lot of time. You’d need to create something that would project an EMP while also projecting that magic field phenomenon. It is probably possible but would probably require more skill than it takes to make a null blade.”

Sesha says she is ready.

Dr. Nick performs the remaining procedures without incident and just like the others before them Beri and whoever else opted in (Sesha? Restlin? Tink explicitly said no) are implanted with the knowledge of the weapons of this world at a small cost (1 con damage) Agatha got one and also got a small pile of technological gear

Food is gotten from the kitchen area and then everyone settles in for the night. Tink practices all of her spells before bed finding she can cast them all.

During morning prep Tink casts her usual assortment of spells, including a Tishe's Weave Elements. She creates them for herself, Restlin, Zane, Beri, Garret, Wyaar and Sesha. Bosk unfortunately misses out. They take up the chest slot. The outline of each person appears blurred, shifting, and wavering as they don the garments. Everyone - except Bosk - benefits from blur while wearing the shirts.

Tink will also use the hologram generator to store images of each person in the party (including herself) as well as a couple of pictures of plain walls (stone ones and metal ones preferably). When done she stores all of the gear - except the goggles - in her haversack. The Goggles will replace her Eyes of the Eagle.

She has a quick look over these bike things trying to memorise as much detail as she can. It might be fun to build one of these for herself when they get back to Hook City.

"How fast can those things go?" It may be that the bikes are faster than flight. Tink has a 60ft fly speed, so will go whichever has the best top speed. She figures it will likely be the bike, and if so, will try and double-up with whichever rider typically takes point.

She relies on the expertise of the Cyberhawks "Will Chuck be safest here or travelling with us?"

Restlin did not prepare overland flight so he opts to double up on a bike. He did not get a chip.

Garret looks at the strange bikes and asks if he can have one.

Wyaar doubles up on one of the bikes

Zane guesses he’s flying and he has his missile launchers in such a way that they don’t impede flight. (OOC: Yes everyone has their gear they requested)

Beri takes a sip of water realizing he now knows how to use the weapons of this world He says he’ll ride along unless flying solo would be the safer route.

Tink asks where the safest place for Chuck to be.

Sesha buffs herself and hops on her broom.

Lazer hawk says to Garret, “Unfortunately we don’t have a spare working bike you could use. All our functioning bikes have riders, but I could let you try to drive one of the bikes on the way to the rendezvous point just to get a feel for it. One of the cyberhawks will double up with you and then switch back once we reach the rendezvous point which is a stretch of abandon road about 75 clicks south west of here.”

Lazer hawk says to Beri, “I’d say flying on a bike or on your own is equally unsafe. Dr. Henrichzimmerschneit has patrol bots everywhere and it doesn’t matter how you are flying they could engage.”

In response to Tink’s question he says ”We’re going out into a warzone. He should stay here if he’s a non-combatant.”

With that the party sets out.

The party is lead to what seems like an old road of black stone. Metal wrecks that may once have been vehicles dot it here and there, and in the distance they can see tall buildings that seem to be their destination; some kind of abandoned city? The hovering vehicles are able to easily fly over the wrecks and the party makes good time; the distant buildings loom higher and higher until it’s evident that they’re far taller than any building they’ve ever seen even in their half-collapsed state..

Soon they’re in the midst of ruined houses and overgrown yards. The Cyberhawks seem uneasy. One mutters something about it being too quiet; it seems they expected trouble before now. Lazerhawk leads the group into the shadow of the great buildings and tells the Iron Dragons they’ll arrive at the rendezvous shortly.

Restlin had casted mage armor before they left and finds himself questioning why they don’t make buildings as large as what he can see back home.

Garret tries to drive the hoverbike taking some strange twists and turns but only crashing once.

Wyaar keeps his eyes peeled as they approach the rendezvous.

Beri hops on the back of his bike and then pulls out his gem of true seeing, keeping an eye out for traps.

Zane posits that the buildings must have been magically built. He had casted extended mage armor before flying out as had Bosk because the bikes were built with medium creatures in mind.

Tink does her best to hide.

Bosk also huddles down to hide, less successfully.

Without much further ado the party and their hosts reach the part of the road where the rendezvous was to occur. The Cyberhawks land their bikes.

Lazerhawk takes out a device and presses a button sending a sort of statically click.

A few moments pass and then a cloud of smoke appears and a figure materializes as the smoke dissipates.

When the smoke clears you see the recognizable form from the illustrated books you found in Hook City what seems like oh so long ago. He stands about 6 feet tall with a metallic armored looking body. His head is covered in a metallic dome that has some sort of cybernetic visual visor sensor either covering over or in place of eyes but a normal looking humanoid mouth is left exposed below the visor.

In a stilted, deep metallic sounding accent, “Lazerhawk, I see you have finally found us some allies. Perhaps now the tide turns in our favor and we put an end to Dr. Henrichzimmershneit.”

Garret says, “Hi, I’m Garret before asking what Dr. Henrichzimmershneit had done

Restlin points out how Mega Cyber Robo Ninja Thing is an undead and a construct.

Wyaar introduces himself and then attempts to detect evil on Mega Cyber Robo Ninja Man. He does not detect as evil.

Beri is relieved that they found who they were looking for and then uses his gem of true seeing to ensure that Mega Cyber Robo Ninja Man is real before introducing himself.

Zane is completely strapped with missile launchers and just says his name when Mega Cyber Robo Ninja Man turns his attention to the Dragon Disciple.

Bosk walks over and introduces himself.

Sesha picks up the same thing Restlin does, affirms their status as allies and then casts a few buffs.

Tink wonder’s if there’s something shorter they can call him.

”Just call me Mega Man” he tells her.

Mega Cyber Robo Ninja Man says to Garret, “Dr. Henrichzimmershneit and his army of robots have effectively taken over. He terrorizes humanity with his army of robots scattered around the globe and he runs it all from inside the Iron Citadel. He’s a brain in a jar inside of the strongest annihilator robot ever created. Sometimes he captures people and turns them into robots against their will”

Agatha barges her way to the front of the group and says, “I’m Agatha Azaroth and it is a pleasure to finally meet you in person. You really are a marvel aren’t you?” She takes some time studying him before she walks over to Sesha and whispers.

Sesha only Highlight to display spoiler: {”I don’t think the technique used on him would do for Serenbeth or Janiterri after all” }

Mega Man takes a closer look at the group. ”I’ve seen many a strange thing in my time but you are one of the strangest. Where did you guys come from?”

Mega Man it is then. And I don't think I can add much regarding where we came from, except that it's a world with more magic and less technology... and once we're done helping you save your world, there is another threat to all worlds that we could use your help with. But that's a long story, and we'll have plenty of time to talk once we are out of danger here.

The druid then turns to Zane to discuss strategey

While a two pronged strategy can be useful, I think we are going to have our hands full with his small army of killer robots. If he is as strong as I'm thinking, it would take several of us over a long time to take the Dr. down. I would guess we will be better off taking them out as quickly as possible before they do too much damage. MegaMan, you've been dealing with these guys already, what are your thoughts?

Bosk asks if the robot masters or the annihilator robot have any weaknesses

Tink asks how Mega Man appeared so suddenly.

Mega Man says, “I’m a ninja so I can focus my ki in a way that allows me to…[/i]

He is interrupted by several things bursting through walls of the ruined buildings surrounding the road

It would appear the Robot Masters have found you. There are 8 in total and they are joined by a swarm of tiny mechanical dragons that start flying out of the windows of the ruins.

Fireman closes in quickly and pours plasma on the party from his flamethrower. The damage is half electric, half fire (resistances/immunities reduce, not DR). Garret takes 35, Restlin takes 22, Zane takes 27, Beri takes 23, Wyarr takes 31, Bosk takes 26, Tink takes 26, and Sesha takes 26. Agatha takes 30 damage, Megaman takes 23 damage

Bomberman throws out three large devices amidst the group that glow ominously.

Scissorman throws an odd shaped blade that targets Bosk.(61 vs AC; misses due to blink) passes harmlessly by while Bosk is blinking and then arcs back through Bosk’s square (46 vs AC; misses do to blink) which also misses due to blink.

Leafman moves where he can get cover behind one of the vehicles and then fires a blast of devastating sound waves also at Bosk (45 vs touch AC; 9 damage)

Waterman creates a puddle of water and then moves to get cover.

Iceman also peaks behind the wreckage of a vehicle firing off high velocity frozen particles that misses Garret.

Rockman runs towards Zane and then tries to let him have it with a power fist attack only to have Zane’s tough scales turn the attack.

Darkman also charges Zane attacking with a null blade managing to score a hit(50 vs AC; 42 damage)

Megaman draws a huge gravity pistol from his leg and fires it off at Fireman (32 vs touch; 5 damage) hitting the robot master’s force shield. He puts some distance between himself and the bombs.

Agatha draws an emp rifle and fires it at Rockman which misses (natural 1) before also putting some distance between herself and the bombs

Sesha remembers the group’s plans and reaches for a spell.

Tink flies up and turns invisible as she tries to identify somethings about what they are dealing with.

She identifies 7 of the masters except fireman as constructs but they seem to be made from adamantine. The rumors Dr. Nick spoke of could be true; these could be robots enhanced with adamantine golem design pattern. She also detects a moderate conjuration aura from darkman’s null blade.

Zane casts haste and then flies 45 feet straight up.

Restlin casts timestop, activates his forcefield, casts resist energy, fly, greater invisible, summons an Astral Deva, summons a wall of ice, and summons a forcecage. When time resumes he flies up.

Garret appears behind Darkman and tears into the robot’s forcefield.

Wyarr checks for evil but Darkman does not seem to be evil. He also blesses his weapon.

The Deva attacks Darkman striking once, her hammer bounces off the forcefield doing less damage than it should have.

Rockman becomes imprisoned in the forcecage.

Rockman slams into the cage twice and attempts to punch it but misses. The forcecage takes 69 damage after subtracting hardness.

Scissorman uses a chainsaw to try to cut through the ice followed by 2 slams. He deals 177 damage to the wall of ice, smashing through.

Waterman creates more water puddles and then tries to move around the wall.

Leafman runs up to the wall and slams into it. (55 damage to the wall)

Darkman attacks the Deva with its null blade. The nullblade strikes the deva (39 vs AC; 31 damage after DR; Deva effected with dispel magic; dispel check was 28 so a CL 17th level effect on the deva is ended if any)

Iceman shoots Mega man with the zero rifle (47 vs AC; 10 cold damage) but Mega man shrugs off the cold damage.

Bomberman’s bombs explode in a strange + pattern, damaging Bosk and Beri for 22 damage. Bomberman then fires his grenade launcher, doing an additional 19 damage to Tink, Bosk, Beri, and Wyarr (DC 15 reflex for half). The grenade’s energy pulls at those hit; Tink and Beri are tripped and fall if they fail the reflex save.

Fireman lights Restlin on fire with a wave of his hand. He takes 4d6 damage a round until he can find some what to put it out (10 damage this round).

Megaman exchanges his pistol for his rocket launcher and fires a missile back at Iceman (58 damage to Iceman’s forcefield, while fireman and water man both take 20 damage to their forcefield from being partially caught in the blast.

Agatha fires another round from her emp rifle at bomberman, striking the robot and dealing 9 damage.

Tink shrugs off the effects of the explosion even from 60ft in the air. She now follows Restlin's lead and casts TimeStop.

When finished there are a whole lot of summons in play. 4 Colossal Celestial T-Rexs, a Ghaele Azata, and for some reason extra Zane, Wyarr, Bosk and Garrets.

"Don't mind the illusory 'yous'" Tink relays over the link "And don't be afraid if your area effects hit the animals. Those masters are the main concern"

Garret continues to attack Darkman but the robot seems to be withstanding some of the damage and the forcefield is regenerating during battle

Zane shoots a rocket at Iceman also catching Fireman and Waterman partially in the blast

Restlin casts resist energy thanks to press his luck and then with the quicken rod summons more help. The Deva continues to attack Darkman hitting twice for less damage than it should (OOC: DR); the stunning has no effect on the construct

Beri hits Fireman and Iceman with his railgun after getting out of his funk

Bosk casts blade barrier but it doesn’t seem to effect the adamantine robots (Know[Arcana] DC: 34 Highlight to display spoiler: {} these robots are immune to magic that allows SR ecept for tranmute metal to wood which has a slowing effect)

Tink uses a timestop of her own to summon a bunch of monsters and illusionary doubles. Her first T-Rex bites Darkman, Her second one critically bites Darkman, disabling his forcefield but Darkman is not grappled. Her last T-rex bites and grapples fireman while her others miss. None of her tigers succeed in grappling a robot.

Sesha-dragon breathes flame down on Iceman but her 50 foot cone can also catch Fireman and Waterman. Iceman makes the save, Fireman and Waterman don’t. Sesha’s dragon flames melt Fireman’s and Iceman’s forcefields respectively

Rockman continues his assault on the forcecage (73 more damage).

Scissorman runs through the hole in the icewall and starts helping Rockman against the Forcecage slamming into it for 22 more damage

Leafman continues to slam into the Icewall also breaking through.

Waterman shoots Iceman with a dart and the robot appears to regenerate some while moving back since he got hit with some AOE’s due to the masters tight grouping.

Iceman shoots an Icy Ray at Sesha, she must make a DC 30 fort save or take 20 damage and become encased in ice unable to move. Because she’s flying if she fails she also takes 16 fall damage as she plummets to the ground

Darkman plunges himself into shadows gaining concealment.

Bomberman throws out more bombs around the forcecage

Fireman breaks the grapple.

(OOC: The Robots do not detect as evil)

Megaman fires another rocket at Iceman catching Fireman as well (59 damage to iceman, 29 to Fireman)

Agatha targets the space occupied by Scissorman with reverse gravity unfortunately Scissorman grabs onto the wrecked vehicle and stays on the ground.

HP Tracker:
Darkman, 97 damage (no more forcefield)
Iceman 92 damage (no more forcefield)
Fireman 141 damage (no more forcefield, grappled)

Restlin's glad his spells are buying time. Battlefield control used to be his thing, but as the power level of foes they were dealing with increased, it became less and less useful.

Still, time to hurt some robot masters. He gets an idea.

"Tink, could you please move that fake Bosk a bit to the NW for me, please?

Wyaar who is now flying sends a barrage of arrows at Bomberman. Only his second and rapid shot attacks hit but one strikes a vital area taking down Bomberman’s forcefield.

Garret continues to use the chainsaw against darkman and 2 of his attacks hit.

Zane fires another missile at iceman and fireman is partially affected

Restlin targets one of the illusions with chain lightning, the bolts arc between targets only to fizzle when reaching the masters (Know[Arcana] DC: 34 Highlight to display spoiler: { these robots are immune to magic that allows SR ecept for transmute metal to wood which has a slowing effect }) The deva keeps pounding away at Darkman managing to find him in his concealed state and striking a vital area.

Bosk curses as the masters ignore his spell. He then pulls out his own Rocket Launcher and starts firing it at Iceman striking the creature and partially getting fireman in the blast.

Sesha hits 4 of the masters with transmute metal to wood slowing them down.

Tink dispels Darkman’s shadow and her summons try to grapple some of the robot masters but none of them suceed. The Azata does hit Darkman for 39.

Iceman fires another icy ray at Sesha (DC 30 fort save or take 22 damage and become encased in ice unable to move; will also incur 17 falling damage)

Waterman tries to shoot Iceman with another dart but misses

Leafman hits fireman with a leaf shield encasing fireman in a swirling protective field of leaves

Darkman Sunders Garret’s chainsaw (59 vs CMD; 41 damage to chainsaw) destroying the weapon.

Rockman continues to wail on the forcecage (62 more damage total after subtracting hardness)

Scissorman also attacks the forcecage (84 more damage)

Fireman turns his flamethrower on the PC’s 30 feet up, hitting all three of them. Bosk is crit for 52 damage, Wyarr takes 22, and Restlin takes 30

Bomberman’s bombs detonate doing 54 damage to the forcecage. He fires a plasma grenade at Zane 45’ up. It detonates on contact and the explosion is big enough to hit Restlin as well. Zane takes 18 fire and 24 lightning damage (reflex 15 for half) while Restlin takes 13 fire and 18 lightning damage (reflex 15 for half).

Restlin's resist energy spells absorb 100% of the damage he had incoming, but that does little to improve his mood. Maybe someone tried to warn him that these Robot Masters were immune to magic and he didn't pay attention. He's been distracted lately.

"There! Right there! THAT is why those maces were worth the investment!" Tink gives a big thumbs up to Bosk. She considers going to make him invisible but thinks better of it "Pretty sure they have True Seeing or Life Sense or something like that. They're not going for the illusions"

Tink decides now is the time for a little heroics of her own. She summons the mental fortitude to recast a Timestop spell!

"Don't worry about the summons!" she lets the party know. They're expendable if it will knock off those masters.

Restlin informs the others that the forcecage is ready to give out. He looks around for something useful and his Lilend keeps playing while his Deva keeps smashing. Restlin’s eyes happen upon a small handheld device he identifies as a lighter. When activated it will produce the same amount of flame as a candle.

Garret informs Darkman that breaking the chainsaw wasn’t nice and proceeds to use his monk abilities to attack it.

Wyaar taps himself on the arm before sending more arrows at Bomberman hitting 3 times

Zane hits Iceman and Fireman partially with his rocket launcher. When the smoke clears Iceman is pretty beat up but still standing.

Bosk blinks out avoiding the fire before annihilating Leafman with his mace of smiting. After the blow all that remains where leafman once stood is strange looking Sonic Rifle that has the same styling as leafman did. Their might be more to this weapon than meets the eye.

Beri starts summoning a Storm Giant

Tink spawns a bunch of summons after congratulating Bosk on the kill. The touch attacks all hit. The Trex’s mostly miss, but one of them manages to crunch down on the weakened construct and finish it off.

Darkman sees what Bosk did and he charges the horn cleric provoking AOOs from Garret, The Deva, the tigers and the T-Rexes. 51 vs CMD; 71 vs 50% miss chance (Mace takes 7 damage; by my reckoning mace has hardness 30 and 93 hp) when he reaches Bosk he attacks the mace instead of the Taur. Luckily the mace is much stronger than a chainsaw being made from adamantine and will take more than a single attack to break

Rockman destroys the forcecage then attacks the illusionary Wyaar (79 damage to illusionary Wyaar)
Scissorman throws his boomascissors at Zane this time (63 vs AC; crit threat; 60 to confirm; 39 damage)

Iceman uses his freeze ray against Zane this time (DC 30 fort save or take 23 damage, be encased in ice unable to move and take 11 fall damage)

Waterman shoots a dart at Iceman healing the other master.

Fireman continues to focus the largest group of PC’s, in this case Zane and Beri floating 45’ up. Zane takes 30 and Beri takes 15.

Megaman draws his own nullblade and engages Darkman when he sees what the master is up to (13 damage to Darkman)

Agatha’s Acid continues to burn Scissorman while she casts Black Tentacles targeting a square near Rockman and Scissorman. The Robot Masters are not grappled by the field.

Darkman, 225 damage (no more forcefield)
Waterman 72 damage (no more forcefield) slowed = staggered, -1 AC, attack rolls, saves move ½ speed - 3 rounds
Fireman 180 damage (no more forcefield) slowed = staggered, -1 AC, attack rolls, saves move ½ speed - 3 rounds
Iceman 264 damage (no more forcefield) slowed = staggered, -1 AC, attack rolls, saves move ½ speed - 3 rounds
Bomberman 325 damage (no more forcefield)
Leafman slowed = Destroyed; Leafy Sonic Rifle dropped where Leafman stood
Scissorman 6 damage

Megaman: Regenned; no damage
