'Pressi, Succotash and Kezzem arrived with me in a cylindrical room 50' high in the right calf of the giant. Iron hatch 30' up the wall. Junk scattered about - metal, springs, gears, broken weapons, rocks, coal, and the like. There's a mess of a construct brimming with legs, also arms with attached tools - grippers, hammers, trowels. It's taking a look at a gear, then tossing it in a pile. Doesn't seem to notice any of us. A 5-foot-high smaller cylinder in the center of the room opens to the floor beneath, which I'm now flying down to.And that is what Murphy-bat does, ascending back up the way he came, spiraling upwards, not directly under the open shaft above, until he arrives near the ceiling hole, then upwards through it to peek at what is in the next chamber - briefly, just over the rim, and then, unless it appears pretty safe, dropping back through and off to one side, hovering for the moment, or grasping on to a good spot along the wall if needed.
'All right - looks like the kitten has landed below the birds,' Murphy says if Bliss rolls less than 45 on stealth. 'Ah, next to the wall on a metal chair sits a dwarf in plate mail, looking around the room. Looks seasick. There's an iron door to one side - might open toward the heel side of the boot, toward where you all entered - you made it, right? I'm flying back upward to see what's above where we came in.'
From DM Carl's October 8th, 2018 post (italics added): OOC: Wearing the gear on your upper arm grants a +1 to CON. There are other gears out there for the other 5 attributes. Each gear ups the bonus for all of them. For example, wearing gears of CON, INT, and STR grants +3 to each. Gears of the same attribute stack, but do not add an additional bonus. Wearing gears of CON, CON, and INT would grant +4 to CON, and +2 to INT. These are unique bonuses and stack with other enhancement bonuses from items like Belts of Physical Might and the like.If no one objects, Murphy picks up the Con gear, to accompany the Wis gear. He will install it when he has a chance to shapechange back to his halfling self - and not in front of the dwarfs.
The gears are roughly the size of an orange. Up to three can be worn by one person.
