The Agents all settle in for the traditional feast, though celebrations are somewhat dimmed in the light of a fallen comrade. Still, this is not unusual for mercenary work, and they exercise careful diplomacy by including their guest.
Bajir explains that he is from a very dry country. He and his people live in the deep desert, and as such, eat mostly fruits that grow in arid conditions, such as figs and olives. But as is demonstrated, they do not pass up on most any source of food, though he does not care for wine or spirits.
The next day, Knight Commander Palance calls them back in to discuss the Giant, and the map. I think I have an equitable solution. We can pay for Scout Donovan to be resurrected, with some amount of remuneration for the trouble. Hazard pay as it were. But, this will put a sizable dent in our coffers. Which is where the map comes in. Looking over it with the librarians, it seems to be somewhat geared to need, or intent. It sent the giants and the spore mound home, where they felt they needed to be. At least we think it did. Perhaps we can use it to send you to what we need, which is funding.
Bajir will still need to have a trial, but I will propose this as a solution, with him to stay and work until the cost of the resurrection is paid in full. Thoughts?

Giant line troops would be a force multiplier for the Fist. perhaps as he is working off his debt, maybe we could see how he fits in the with the current order of battle and TOC. Even if it doesn't seem feasable, the understanding we could gain, and vice versa, could be invaluable in further dealings with the Giant races. in any case I think we need to have someone who's really in touch with the current financial difficulties read the scroll, that way it would open up to a really rich source of funds.

Anna says, "Ma'am after we secure more funding via way of portal, may we please return to the range where we found the griffons? They are hungry and intelligent and might be persuaded to enlist with the Fist. We'd get new irregular units and the griffons would get a source of steady nourishment. It would also add safety to the route on which the griffons have been hunting. Plus Having a griffon calvary unit could also open up future contract opportunities we currently don't have the ability to staff. Michael, I and some of the others in our Fist have been talking about returning to the griffons for a while but other work keeps getting in the way so with your leave we are requesting to return to the griffons to offer them a commission post returning from our current mission to secure funding."

The Knight Commander makes sure that the group knows how influential they can be, and that even though she is in charge, it's a poor commander that doesn't take the opinions of her officers into consideration.
But in fact, she already has a letter drafted to the High Priest of Gargul, requesting his services. She releases them to prepare as they will for a trip to who knows where. Hopefully somewhere good. But maybe not. Impossible to know.

Pru leaves the commander's office and immediately heads for the baths. After washing off the dungeon grime and trail dust and donning a clean uniform, she feels quite a bit better. She heads over to the Fist's quarters to see what the others are up to.

Nikolai stops by Headquarters to clean up and check on the mail. Nothing from home but he writes a letter to his family to let them know he and his friends are doing fine. But he does not stay there. While Chief Bejir is still in their charge (no word yet to hand him over), he stays outside with him. He hopes the giant will be able to convince his people that not all humans are enemies and subject to be eaten.
He also makes the list of things they need to stock up on.
OOC: we need that loot list and see who wants what and get to the catacombs before we leave.

Anna decides to head to the practice yards and starts setting up practice dummies. She tells anyone who is there to give her some space as she doesn't want anyone caught in the crossfire of her new abilities.
After the practice ground is cleared she turns into a manticore-chimera and uses her natural attacks, tail spikes and breathe weapon against the targets she set up, trying to get a feel for her new most flexible form.

Once Anna is finished in the training yard she cleans up any mess caused by the presumed destruction of the training dummies. Hopefully she didn't damage the yard itself considering she doesn't think the structure was constructed with breathe weapons in mind.
She'll make sure to visit the catacombs if she determines she has enough resources to get anything on her wish list and if not she'll just go see her Fist-mates.

Anna tosses the ioun stone around her head trying to figure out if the addition makes her spell like abilities last longer.
The winged shield can only lift 266 pounds, so it won't support Sigvar's weight.
If Anna's SLAs are based on caster level, then yes, they would be improved with the Ioun Stone.
Feeling more powerful both in themselves and with some upgraded equipment, the Agents make themselves ready to head off on this new adventure. Knight Commander Palance wishes them well, hoping that the map conforms to her and her advisors' expectations. There is only one way to find out though.
