Velarin’s elemental slams its firsts off the furnace golem but the dense metal resists the damage. Velarin, irritated at losing the wizard, turns to vent his spleen on the golem but stays his hand, letting the others finish off the construct.
Barratore quickly locates the last opponent and delivers a mighty blow to the construct. This blow is quickly followed by another bolt of lightning that makes a patch on the front and back of the golem glow red.
Finally, Brom does what Brom does not slams the furnace golem over and over again until its animating force is destroyed leaving an empty, warm, husk.
The room is quiet for a few beats as the adrenalin leaves the bodies of the Keepers. They look about and see that this is indeed a sleeping area and that nothing appears to be trapped and there are now more dwarves hiding.
Velarin reminds the Keepers of what the dwarves said about not taking the lake and 'those below'. Still you can all fell that, while there is a problem to be addressed, it is not something that cannot wait for a bit.
As this very brief sweep is finished the orc who now seems to be the leader comes into the room smiling and speaking in broken common.
“Strong saviors. You would make good orc war leaders! We talked and will not make trouble. Would like to stay, build life here. Trade if can.”
He clearly looks hopefull. Over time he would ask the the orcs be allowed to stay and keep enough gear to defend themselves. Some armor and weapons but not too much. His idea is to trade things they make with the villages around. That said the orcs have had no contact and do not know how the mood of the tows is. They also do not know anything about the lake you find at the end of the short passage to the north. {See slide 2}
The lake you find is over one thousand feet across though not all the wide in an arching cavern. From what you can see it gets progressively deeper as it moves from the shore. The first person to walk in that direction is also surprised when any enchantments that are active stop functioning. It is clear that there is an anti-magic property to the lake.
The party has some dwarves locked in the mansion. {I almost forgot about them.} The party must also decide the fate of the orcs.
Between the gear on the dwarves and what has been found in the living area the Keepers have quite a haul of items, gems and gold. The orcs do not wish to keep much, four pieces of armor and four weapons. If this is allowed the following remains.

V thanks the Elemental, and then dismisses him to his home plane, and then turns to look at the orc, at his friends and at the pile of loot. "We have 15,000 in rubies from earlier as well. Anyone got anything against these Orcs trying to make a peaceful and honest living here in these caves? And, while cash is always fine and dandy, is anyone opposed to leaving them 4 of the breastplates and the 2 Earthbreakers and 2 Warhammers? Perhaps even a longbow or two as well? I would think that is a start for them considering generations of servitude."
V waits for an answer before answering the Orc
"We are obviously not done here my friends. Right off the bat, we have Dwarves in the Mansion to deal with, we are definitely in need of rest. we have an escaped wizard, an antimagic lake, and "others" beyond it that the wizard did not want us to get to. Following all that fun, we should definitely have a word with the nearby villages regarding these Orcs, perhaps even taking one or two of them with us to meet the villagers."

And inspiration strikes. “What we have here is something very similar to the history of Cinnamon Valley! Several groups of different people under the tyranny of a great evil that is taken down by a hero group. The group then suggests a Council where all the different groups have a say to run the place. “
“ In Cinnamon Valley it was Hill People, Druids, Hmanas, and Witches subjugated by Royd the Merciless and when freed established the Pitchfork Council.”

Velarin dismisses his elemental and makes sure the full loot list is up to date. He points out that that orcs seem to want to make a peaceful and honest living and has no problem with leaving them some weapons and armor.
Edson is worred less about the politics then personal gain and would like the ring of spell storing.
Tishe’ helps with the gathering and identifying of the treasure while considering Velarins words. The thinks they may have a special situation here, recounting the events of Cinnamon Valley and the council that was created.
Emrys, like the others thinks that the orcs could make a home. Fair trade seems a good thing.
The orcs do explain on interesting property of the local ore to the party. While within or near the mine the woldblood streaked ore resists magic that effect quickly lessens as you move away from the mine.
They are happy with the idea of trade and look on the group as their saviors, they will willingly do whatever is asked of them including meeting with the townsfolks. The townsfolk will take some time but will come around to them as the partner. It is only late in the conversation that the lead orc expresses concern of the lake. He knows nothing about it but does no that the wizards, and other dwarves, would occasionally speak of it.
Before leaving the lake would be examined one more time. The ceiling in above the lake arches up at least one hundred feet. There are rickety boats and rafts near the shore with oars, examination proves they are not stellar work but are seaworthy in spite of their appearance. The boats each hold two to four people of medium size. There are also two large rafts that would hold ten. There are no active threats in the area, as there was not earler.

Generations of slavery cannot be simply paid for, but I believe we should provide some compensation. What say you all to 500gp for each orc? But as we discuss this, what do we do with the dwarves then? Do we have a location relatively far from here where they could make start over."

[Welcome back after the slowdown! My thanks to DM Ryan as we switch!]
The party seems to be at a decision point.
You have journeyed into a stronghold of evil dwarves and half-orcs, with orc slaves used for labor. You have defeated the dwarves and halforcs, and cleared out a strange garden of undergound fungus creatures. Some dwarves yet remain, trapped in a magical mansion. The orcs with you seem eager to please their new overlords, and are considering what life would be like without the dwarves.
Down a long corridor from the mines lies a large, dark lake - a lake that seems to eat magic. Could it be the lake that Emrys saw in his vision when he entered this place? What was it that dwarven caster had said? Oh yes, "Smash them on the anvils of your hate! They will not take the lake or those below!”
The orcs know little of this lake, save that they were not allowed here. Goods were brought that way, even captured humans from time to time. They want nothing to do with it.
Do you venture into the unknown lake? Do you go outside first and speak with the villagers above? What of the orcs - do you take them out of the mine? And the captured dwarves - what are they up to in their magical prison?
[If you have spells or ongoing effects that, kindly remind your DM what those are in your post.]

Barratore sighs, there was no decent answer. Brom instead focuses on trying to keep the attention of the orcs by challenging them to an arm wrestling match! Several have already left to explore the mine to see if anything was overlooked. Of those that stay, only a couple are ready to accept the challenge. It's not much of a contest with 30 Strength (is the 36 only when he is raging?) As they watch Brom quickly wins any match. The other cheer briefly for thier comrads, but quickly switch to cheering for Brom.
Edson and Barratore watch with interest, considering odds and how many orcs would need to work together just to beat the mighty Brom.
Emrys snaps out of his reverie, and gives some thought to how they might find the Scab and some dwarves that could take on the evil dwarves sequestered in a magical mansion. Searching his own memory, Emrys knows that there are some dwaves locally, but is reasonably concerned that there maybe a clan large enough to not be overrun by these evil dwarves. He knows the Scab is a location of some dwarven clans, and it is a few hundred miles to east of where you are. He calls for his enchanted dwarven manservant, hoping the dwarf may know something useful.
[Kindly remind your DM where this enchanted dwarven manservant is and the nature of his enchantment. Perhaps he's in that mansion?]

V holds off on casting Limited Wish, waiting to see what Emrys can come up with. The Limited wish may be much more useful on something, and V really didn't want to use the rather hefty diamond on an imprecise question regarding Dwarves.

"Well now, we can't scry the location of a dwarven town, for that divination only works on individuals ... not locations. So in order to move things along, I am going to attempt a Vision quest ... peer into the shifting shadows and see what coalesces."
He prepares for the Vision by casting a magical hack that augments his caster level. A necromancy that claims some of his lifeforce. He turns quite pale in the process.
(Casting Surrender Blood. Loses 20 hitpoints. +4 Caster level to next spell.)
He takes out his small cauldron and four pieces of ivory with eldritch runes carved into them. He burns some pungent incense in the cauldron immediately begins chanting words of power. Emrys quickly goes into a trance ... then suddenly his eyes become black as pitch. "Show me how to find the nearest community of good dwarves with the capability and means of receiving our prisoners."
(Casting Vision. Caster Level Check: d20+16: 23+4= 26 vs DC 20, 25 or 30. Spell mimics the Legend Lore spell but much faster.

Tishe and Edson wait patiently for an answer to their dwarven dilemma.
Velarin holds off casting a Limited Wish, hoping Emrys has better options. Emrys concentrates, casting Vision, asking, "Show me how to find the nearest community of good dwarves with the capability and means of receiving our prisoners."
As he concentrates, Emrys sends his mind into a void of blackness seeking a vision of what he should do. As he does, images and thoughts being to fill his head. He sees a carved cave entrance, and before it is a large clearing. There is a meeting of dwarves and humans in this place. Gold is being exchanged for manufactured gear. The faces are all stern, but eventually they change to a look of agreement and even a smile or two. Another vision appears, and the humans and the dwarves are celebrating some sort of festival in this area in front of the cave entrance.
Emrys gets a rough idea in his head where this place is, and that the leader of the human community is named Urvan and the dwarves leader is an old dwarf named Yeldarb. These are goodly people of some ability. He gets a sense that this may be the place he seeks, but it will take both the humans and the dwarves there working together to handle the dwarves prisioners.
This place is about a day and a half travel northward for here.

"Well done Emrys. Now the question of finding these people, and getting the Dwarves there. Do we all just teleport in that direction with the Dwarves and start looking, or do we send a couple people in advance to find them, set up the transfer, and have everything ready for the Dwarves arrival, while the rest guard our prisoners here? I for one think that option number two is going to be the best move."

Emrys shakes off the effects of his Vision spell and shares what he learned.
Velarin, Emrys and Tishe debate teleporting to the location Emrys saw in his vision. The complications of willing versus unwilling teleportation is discussed.
Barratore offers to stay behind if teleportation is how they get there, though neither the use of teleportation nor the need to leave anyone behind is decided.
Brom keeps a sharp eye on the place as the others discuss. He notices a few rats here and there. In the distance, he can hear the orcs rummaging around the place, and the occasional shouts about some lucky find. He also hears some loud arguing over something of value. Maybe a couple of them are fighting with each other - hard to tell really.

The party moves to where the Magnificent Mansion was created. Velarin knows where the door is, but does not open it. He moves behind Brom and Baratore. Everyone readies for a fight with their prisoners. Edson pulls out his bow and knocks an arrow.
Velarin concentrates as he waves his arm in a sweeping arc, and where there once was a doorway now there are about 19 dwarves. All are badly injured, and most are still unconscious. While you had left them bound, their bonds are gone. The injured appear to have been tended to. Those that can stand do so, and glower at you. A couple of them hold daggers, which is surprising since you thought you’d disarmed them all. Brom and Barratore glower back.

If you attempt to escape, we will stop you. If you succeed, however slim, you will be in the wilderness without provisions or protection. Question?"
One of the dwarves steps forward. ”I am Lefnun. I speak for those here. Brok over there is dead. The rest are injured. Maybe they’ll die too. We are in no shape for a trip, but maybe that doesn’t matter to you. Do with us as you will, but if it’s a death, let it be a quick and clean death as befits a warrior. Do not lock us away again where we will starve, or march us until we die.”
Another dwarf says, ”So where you jerks, I mean gents takin’ us? What sorta colony?” This gets him a sharp look from Lefnun.
There are a few orcs nearby and they hear what’s going on, and they wander back. A couple of them hold bags of some things they seem to have found. They look at the dwarves, at the party, and then back at the dwarves. Other orcs seem to be making their way back as well.
”Oooo. I wanna kill ‘em. Slowwwww.” “No way you scuz! Velarin is running out of patience with these folks - dwarves and orcs alike.
Tishe takes out some healing supplies, but does not use them, and Edson offers to help her. She calls the dwarves out about their mention of starving to death in a comfortable, food-filled mansion. Lefnun is a bit stung by her words. "Well, we didn't know if them ghosts were gonna run outta food, or if you jus decided to leave us in there. But yeah, I guess it was alright."
Barratore steps up. With a hard look and a sharp word the orcs melt away, almost tripping overthemsleves as they pull back with fearful apologies. Barratore tells the dwarves that if teh group wanted them dead, they would no longer be talking. He goes on to say, "We have no intention of marching you to death and I tell you we will assist with your wounds. There is a clan of dwarves and humans who through hard work and mutual respect live in peace not far from here. We are taking you there and asking them for their good graces to accept you into their clan. In time, it is my hope you can regain your honor." Tishe chimes in to back up Barratore. Brom just glares.
Lefnun takes a moment, looking at the dwarves around him for any protest or response. Then he says, "Fair enough. You have beaten us and we accept this. We will offer you no resistance on this trip, though we will need some healing to get my people in shape to travel. I ask that you give me a weapon to enforce my word, and to protect myself as we go. I also ask that you have weapons ready for the rest of us should we face trouble. But I can tell you that we will not fight you." As he looks around again he gets some angry looks from the others, but they remain silent.
Barratore asks about the lake. Lefnun says, "Hmmm. That lake is a bad place. We were told that there are monsters in its depths. Our leaders would sometimes take goods and ore across and would return. I heard some of the metal men came from there. I want no part of that, and we will not follow you there." There is general agreement on this point among the conscious dwarves.
