Owen makes a funny at Elim's expense
Erik and Elyngael free Elim
Atlas verbally releases his frustration on the old man for his comment, and physically on the altar. He does acknowledge Elim's bravery, but also his stupidity.
'Osul decides not to come to the old man's aid, 'Osul is certain they are directly under the temple, as he muses about Elim's finding the lair before they did, and mocks Erik and Elyngael over the freeing of Elim. then he finally introduces himself to Elim.
Armand sets the record strait and tells the prisoners that Elim isn't one of them. He can see that the tunneling is relatively new, and that the work is well done, with no danger of collapse, but isn't able to find anything out of the ordinary.
In spit of having aid from 'Osul, and making a thorough search, Neshi doesn't find anything out of the ordinary, and is pretty certain that there isn't anything to be found.
Elim introduces himself as a tailor, and claims dumb luck got him as afar as it did in his quest to gather information to give to the local lord. He gathers his things as he asks the Wardens if he can travel with them to the Tree, as that is his destination.
The old man apologizes for his mistake saying, "I meant no offence, I just saw this guy acting heroically, then you guys come along not 2 hours later, and free us, easily defeating the villains, and figured there must be a link between the 2". "Anyways, I want to thank you guys for saving the day, and I thank the Gods that the Lord Protector had the sense to call you guys to action!"
The rest of the freed prisoners also thank the Wardens, sharing the old man's sentiment completely.

'Osul asks Atlas if he knows why the elderly gentleman seems to know them, though the vibe he is getting from the guy is that he is generally grateful for the rescue, and doesn't mean any harm. (his bald head is uncovered)
Owen spurs the Wardens on so they can get the civilians out and go report to the the Lord Protector
Erik Lays Hands on Elim and Elim's wounds close up, not even leaving a scar
Atlas wants to give the old dude the benefit of the doubt, he also wants to get the civilians to safety and report to the Lord Protector.
Armand gets the people to line up, with the Wardens dispersed through out the line, then begins leading them out the door, which though it slammed shut at the beginning of the fight, moves freely on it hinges.
Elyngael asks if anyone knows Rose's son, or Faithe's husband.
Neshi is shocked that there isn't a secret passage to the upstairs temple, but helps herd the good people out and also helps carry the loot.
Elim greets the Wardens, and happily allows them to lead the way to freedom, making it clear that he wants to tell the Lord Protector about their bravery.
Overhearing the conversation between 'Osul and Atlas the old man tries to set the record strait by saying, "I was captured just this after noon, so I had a chance to hear the rumors that are all about town that the Tree Wardens are here to help the Colonel, in fact though he probably didn't see me, or remember me, I saw this one you call Atlas at the pub last night. As a stranger, he seemed rather focused, as though he were trying to get the feel of the place, and now I know why, so when you guys show up and identify yourselves as the Tree Wardens, well you get the idea".
At Elyngael's inquiring, two gentlemen step forward, one claiming to be Rose's son and the other Faithe's husband, they both ask if there is something wrong with their loved one.
The people line up as instructed, and exit the underground lair without any issues. Once free, the prisoners, unless instructed to do otherwise, will disperse and head to their homes. Faithe's Husband will accompany the Wardens to the Lord Protectors castle if he is informed that Faithe is currently there for her protection.

Faith is in the Lord Protector's castle. Rose, well Hedyn, Rose seems to think you are dead and buried. I think she's under some sort of spell. So perhaps I should accompany you to your home."

He hopes to be near the front, and once outside in the fresh air he finally takes the time needed to repair the front door (by repeatedly casting the Mending Orison). Once everyone is out of the tunnels and stable, he sets about repairing the stable doors (by means of the casting of a second Warp Wood Spell - specifically useable for this purpose). Only when he is done does he mutter, "Leave it the way you found it...", This is not really under his breath, and is more like he is repeating the mantra of a long ago learned lesson.
He then catches up with the people winding their way through the city to the castle.

After 'Osul fixes the two doors the Wardens destroyed, the majority of the party heads to the castle. Josun accompanies them and when they arrive, Faithe, seeing Josun, runs out to meet them, throws her arms around him, and with tears of joy in her eyes cries out, "You're alive!" "I never thought I'd see you again", then turning to the Wardens she says, "Thank you, first you save me and now my man, may the gods truly bless you for your kindness". After that, Faithe and Josun leave the castle walking in the direction of their home.
As the reunited couple make their departure, Caleb steps out of the castle and informs the Wardens that the Lord Protector, is waiting for them.
Armand and Elyngael, with Khan by her side escort Hedyn to Roses house. When they arrive, the place is mostly dark, except for what appears to be the light of a single candle radiating out of the window. As they approach the doors, the sounds of weeping can be clearly heard. A knock on the door summons an obviously grief stricken Rose, who refuses to open the door, saying, "It's late please come back tomorrow". Hedyn steps up to the door and says, "Mom it's me please open the door". Upon hearing the voice of her son, Rose flings the door open stops for a moment, wiping the tears out of her eyes. When she sees Hedyn, she rushes to her son and embraces him in a crushing hug saying, "I can't believe you're alive, they said you were dead, they even put me under some kind of spell to force me to make up a stupid story about your death, then about a half hour ago, the spell suddenly lifted, leaving me in the despair that I thought was the truth of your death". Turning to Armand and Elyngael, Rose says, "I'm so sorry for the way I acted earlier, I wasn't in my right mind at the time. You saved my son and I have no way to repay you, but I give you my thanks". Turning back to Hedyn, she starts heading back into the house, Rose says, "You must be hungry, light some more lamps and I'll make you something to eat".

Armand and Elyngael hastily head back to the castle, allowing the mother and son to make there reunion. they arrive just as Caleb is coming out to meet with the rest of the Wardens, and since the band is back together, you all enter the castle, following Caleb's lead. Caleb leads you to what could be considered the Lord Protector's throne room, but as you quickly discover, while the throne riser is still there from previous lords, his "throne" which is actually just a comfortable looking chair, not the elaborate affair you may expect, was on the main level, in front of the riser, surrounded by several chairs of the same type he is seated on. Seated with him is High Priest Renul, with Jr. Priest Chia seated next to him, and Isabel. Caleb quickly makes for the empty seat next to Hiram. As the Wardens enter, Hiram and the rest stand and begin applauding the heroes. Hiram asks the Wardens to have a seat, and begins to address them, "Friends, you have done the Fair Meadows a major service, and on behalf of the people of Stonebriar, and the Fair Meadows at large, as well as myself, I would like to offer you my sincere thanks. I know it's not as much as you deserve, but please take this gift as a token of our nations, and my thanks", at that moment, Hiram rings a bell, and an attendant enters the room with a chest. The attendant sets the chest at the feet of the Wardens and opens it revealing many diamonds, rubies, garnets, and other precious gems. the value is enough to put you all up to your wealth by level amount
"Now that that's taken care of, let's talk about more important things", Hiram begins. "First off I believe this Death Dragon evil was allowed to go unchecked and possible even welcomed by my predecessor, that coupled with the complete uselessness of the constable, allowed the evil to continue. At anytime, if the constable would have been doing is job, I would have personally put down this evil, so I have chosen Caleb, my most trusted, and dearest friend to be the sheriff of the whole realm. he will appoint worthy constables through out the realm, they will answer to him, and he will answer to me. My hopes is that this will forever prevent such a threat from going unnoticed and unchecked in this kingdom again".
"And secondly", he says turning to Owen, "It seems one of two things must happen know, either I gain a most noble librarian, or I lose a most valuable secretary". "I can not allow the two of you to be separated any longer", he adds, "and so I leave this choice to you, either stay and reopen the library with my blessing, or take your lovely wife home to you, also with my blessing". "Know that either way the library will be reopened, just as soon as I can find a librarian",
Armand (Robert D) AC 20/touch11/flat 19 HP 70/70 CMD 20 Character Sheet Thursday January 10th, 2019 7:21:02 AM (OOC) I don't see anything I really need in the party treasure, the cloak of protection +2, but then with the Protectors gift, I could just buy one. I think we need to keep the manacles and I will volunteer to put them in my inventory if it's agreed. I think Owen took the Drow Cold Iron +2 Dagger. I wonder still about the hat of disguise...on the one hand it could prove useful in the future, on the other hand would a cleric of Gargul necessarily disguise himself?
When the Wardens enter and the applause starts, Armand starts and looks behind the party to see what the group could be applauding. Upon seeing nothing he realizes they are applauding them. "We thank you, please the applause is not necessary."
Armand's eyebrows shoot up at the Protectors pronouncement. He wonders what Owen will do...
To give Owen some time to respond Armand turns to Caleb. "We found this person," Armand juts his thumb out at Elim, "on the alter about to be sacrificed. He seems to have dealt with a few of the cultists before they overcame him."
Owen Marcellus (Weston W.) AC: 16/12/14; HP: 54/54; CMD: 17 Thursday January 10th, 2019 8:36:26 AM
Owen is a little shocked by the choice Hiram offers. He knew, in the back of his mind, that the choice would have to be made, but the joy of his reunion cast the decision far from his attention. "Lord Protector...", he says, frowning, "It is a difficult question. If I take Isabel with me, yes, you lose a secretary. In addition, she and Simon lose their home, their friends, their place. On the other hand: if I go, I must leave my friends behind, and the Tree will lose one of its, perhaps, budding heroes."
Owen pauses for a long moment, deep in thought, then turns with surety to Hiram. "The stories tell of a knot so twisted and devious that even the greatest minds were unable to untangle it. So seem many of our problems, especially when great goods call us in different directions. That knot was eventually untangled, but not with some shrewd triumph of cunning: a different perspective and the sharp edge of a sword cut through the matter easily. In like manner, I think you can keep your secretary and the Tree can keep all of its Wardens. When we first considered coming here, I planned to cast a Teleport spell to make the trip in an instant. Why don't we establish a permanent Teleportation Circle between Fair Meadows and the Tree of Parting? It will foster trade and security for both communities, and (coincidentally) allow me to be with my family and remain a Warden. I would be glad to contribute my portion of our reward to help pay for the Teleportation Circle. Perhaps the Tree can help sponsor it, too, if they will allow it in the first place. We will need to discuss the matter with them, of course, and I will have to talk to Isabel about this solution as well."

OoC: I struggled with this post. From what I know of Owen's character, he would probably retire to Fair Meadows at this juncture. I contemplated his retirement for a while. But he likes his friends in the Wardens a lot and feels a duty to the Tree, so this solution seems reasonable.

Elim needs to roll a DC 17 will save to make his bluff, as the room is protected by a zone of truth spell
When Owen shares his solution, Hiram's eyes narrow, as though he is deep in thought. Finally, after a moment or two, he speaks, "Friends, while this a a clever idea, I question the logistics of it. First off there is the cost. I could have some numbers drawn up, by those who are knowledgeable in such things, but I assure you the price would be higher than I and the tree management could afford, forcing the lion's share of the cost to be coming out of your pockets. And secondly, as Elyngael pointed out there is the security of the thing. Such a device could easily be used for nefarious means, as such it would need to be guarded at both ends 24 hours a day, and even then, as you well know, evil has a way of slipping through the cracks. Fair Meadows has been through so much already, it would hurt me deeply if something I did inadvertently lead to further pain. This requires much consideration, please allow me to think on it for a bit".
OCC...Rob and I discussed this, a we both agree it is a clever solution. However, the thing is expensive, Rob shot me some numbers and the magical items needed to build two of the things, (one at each location) is in the ball park of well over 50,000gp. (I could come up with the actual cost if you wish) while I agree that the Wardens could afford such a thing, it's doubtful that Hiram and the Tree Management could, forcing the Wardens to pay 90% of the cost out of pocket, and that would have to be recorded on your character sheets going towards your WBL. If you guys truly want to go ahead with the plan, I can crunch the numbers over the weekend, but remember, the device won't have any effect (positive or negative) on the game.
Isabel speaks up, "Owen, now that we are reunited, my place is with you! I don't care where we live, as long as we're together, and I know Simon feels the same way. I love working for the Lord Protector, but I can just as easily find something I love at the Tree of Parting, and honestly Lord Hiram won't find it hard to find a replacement, as the people love him, and for good reason. People will be lining up for a chance to work for him".

"Hmm, we seem to be picking up a lot of 'strays' in this city.' Armand ponders if that has any significance.
Armand smiles at Owen. "I guess we may need to do some rearranging of the Warden headquarters, or perhaps you and your family will want your own home in the Tree."
Armand then address the Lord Protector. "Would you mind if I looked at your Library before we leave. I'm attempting to build on in the Tree of Parting but it only has a few volumes right now and I'd like to get a sense of what it's potential could be."

"In this season of my life, I am a tailor who wishes to set up a shop at the Tree of Parting. The prior seasons have passed like autumn leaves under winter snow. Atlas' smile is huge at the mention of Owen's family coming to the Tree to live. Especially considering the cost! He turns to Elim and Erik, "It may be obvious, but to ensure it is formalized, you are both welcome to join us on our journey back to the Tree. You have both shown skills that set you apart and would be a benefit to a place like the Tree. I am looking forward to our journey together."
DM Jeremy Monday January 14th, 2019 6:04:02 AM OCC.. A few things things: 1st the wealth by level for level 10 is 62,000 sorry I missed the question in Neshi's post on Friday. 2nd, Danial informed me, and in return I informed Rob and Jerry, that he has to take a leave of absence due to a crazy busy schedule, as such I will be writing Erik the Red Lion out of the story. Hopefully, he will be able to back soon. 3rd, I agree with Graham, and Owen will get a Hero point for coming up with such a brilliant idea, to bad the logistics of the thing was so unwieldy, but Rob and I both agree the idea was very clever. 4th Stonebriar has an entrance to the catacombs, Owen would know where it is located, so any shopping you wish to do is just fine.
Everyone is thrilled at the prospect of Owen's family joining them at the Tree, however it is pointed out that it does create some very minor changes, but nothing that can't be dealt with when the time arises. Some of our intrepid Hero's question Elim's story, and he insists on the truth of it, but adds that there is more he would like to add, words that he believes are for the Warden's ears only. Atlas does his best to make both Elim and Erik feel at home in the company of the Tree Wardens.
When asked if Hiram knew Elim, the answer is no, but he does suggest they take Elim up on his offer to share his story in private, not showing any slight at being left out of the meeting, and offers to have a fire lit, and drinks and food delivered to a more private and cozy chamber, where they can take their time and say what needs saying. He does admit to sending Erik out to seek them claiming the Paladin showed up claiming he saw suspicious activity, and was happy to put his sword to use if evil was a foot.
When Atlas invites Erik to join them on their journey, he humbly declines saying, "I am needed at home. I was on a business trip for my father, and need to get home to conclude the business", Adding, " As a Paladin I must render aid when evil is a foot, and mayhaps we will meet again". Turning to the Lord Protector he says, "I thank thee for the bed tonight, by your leave I shall adjourn, as I must leave in the morning". He then bids his farewells, and heads to his bedroom.
Caleb leads the Wardens to a very cozy room with a sizable table decked out with fine food and drink, next to a lovely fire, it is currently around 8:00 pm, and Caleb bids you goodnight as he closes the doors behind him as he leaves.

Elim bade farewell to Erik, and entered the anteroom with the others. He helped himself to a cup of well-watered wine. He waited until everyone was settled, then gave a short bow from the waist.
"Good evening. My name is Scott Sterling, adventuring historian. Or Joaquim Soares Barreira, wastrel nobleman. Or Shemeshka, traveling entertainer. It all depends on who is asking."
The man took a seat, folding his hands neatly on his lap. He was tall and thin, with short blonde hair, brown eyes, and angular features. His black clothing blended into the dark of the evening.
"While I wear many names, my conviction never changes. That is why we are speaking now. I have come to the Tree of Parting, in a roundabout way, because I worship Visaura."
The man gave a small nod. "I know, very vague and mysterious. Allow me to explain -- Visaura is a spirit, an immortal power, the patron of gardeners and herbalists. She offers the message that loss and death leads to decay and then to new life. She is not widely worshipped, but we're working on it. Whenever I visit a new town, I look for opportunities to share the faith, and to do her work."
The man smiled. He enjoyed teaching. "A good gardener is proactive, not reactive. He searches for weeds and uproots them. He prunes the unfruitful bough. He digs and nourishes the soil. As the gardener tends his garden, so should parents tend their families, mayors tend their villages, and kings tend their countries. The world is filled with all kinds of gardens. All gardens need diligent care."
The man leaned forward. "I am a Gardener. I am sworn to tend to Visaura's garden... which is quite in harmony with my position as a special investigator for the Plateau City Ministerium of Justice." He reached into his pocket. His hand held a small metal crest, emblazoned with the coat of arms of Plateau City.
"I enjoyed a successful career working in the shadows to seek out the truth and bring the guilty to justice... until a murder investigation I commanded led to the arrest, and execution, of the favorite nephew of the Grand Master of the thieves guild." He put the crest back into his pocket. "With a bounty on my head, my superiors ordered me into seclusion for my own protection. I heard about the Wardens of the Tree of Parting from an associate, and it seemed like the perfect place to fade away for a time."
He leaned back and crossed one leg over another. "Right now, I am a simple, humble tailor seeking to set up shop in a pastoral trading post... Bleh! I grow restless even thinking about it. Would your group be willing to accept the help of a humble tailor who dabbles in volunteering to help his new community?"

Armand gets up to refill his glass and offers to refill Atlas's as well. As he passes he whispers to Atlas, "An agent of the Law from Plateau City? I'm not sure we need that, last time we were there we were involved in that whole affair with Gaston in the Prison, and then we got teleported out by Maab leaving things kind of hanging."
"I don't recognize the name Visaura, but that is not to say that I am unwilling hear more. I am personally more in favour of gardens looking out for themselves, and if you are part of that garden, then that means attending to it's needs. My garden is ... not long tolerant of unrequested attention.", says 'Osul in calm, measured tones, and as he moves he leans a little more heavily than usual on the gnarled, darkwood quarterstaff.

OCC.. Still waiting for a green light from the PTB for the next module, so I was hoping that we could hang out and explore the Fair Meadows until we are good to go.
In the morning, the Wardens arise just in time to bid Elim and Erik off, then they are invited to a lovely breakfast with the Lord Protector. Over breakfast, Hiram invites the Wardens to stay and enjoy the Fair Meadows for a bit before returning to the Tree, claiming the logistics of moving Owens family may take a day or two to sort out, and offers to loan them a horse and wagon for moving any keepsakes. Caleb volunteers to accompany them, as the wagon driver. He has grown fond of the Wardens, and would like the chance to travel with them again.

Owen responds to Hiram and Caleb, saying "We thank you for your generosity, Lord Protector. We would be honored. Until everyone is ready to travel, however I think we have some errands to run in town."
Owen stops in at the local branch of the Star Mages' Guild and passes on a message: he's prepared to teach his three classes to advance to through Arcanist to Grand Mage. He'll teach his first class in that evening and two more tomorrow, focusing on the Knowledge (History) of the Contested Kingdoms. (Taking 10 in that skill yields Owen a 29.)
While they spread the word to interested scholars, Owen heads to the Catacombs for a bit and prepares his lecture notes.
That evening, dressed smartly in robes fresh from Prestidigitation, he begins his lecture in front of a handful of students: "I want to begin this lecture on the history of the Contested Kingdoms by discussing that name. It has been in use for generations, and speaks to the characters both of the region and of the methods by which its kingdoms are contested. For this place is not called the 'Warring Kingdoms', the 'Squabbling Theocracies', the 'Democratic Impasse', or any of myriad other options. The word 'Contested' suggests to us conflict by many means, war and otherwise, while 'Kingdoms' places that conflict in the hands of powerful, often charismatic rulers. Many historians prefer to discuss the largest-scale military movements of the region, ignoring the more minor rulers and even the non-military tactics of the more powerful...."
About forty minutes later, Owen concludes his lecture. "....Thus, Edward the Dread should rightly be considered one of Contested Kingdom's greatest leaders, even though his tiny city-state lost almost every battle it fought in for the four decades of his rule. His bonds with the region's Clerics of Gargul and Flower helped to pacify relations between his kingdom and its opposition after every battle, win or loss, even if the enemy ruler did not seek peace. Extending the olive branch always, in every instance, extended his power. Are there any questions?"

Atlas itches to get home, but he's more than happy to give Owen and his family time to prepare. At some point during the day it strikes him, "Has anyone put any thought into how we'll adjust our accommodations for the family? Maybe we add a more private section for them upstairs?"
Atlas spends half the day wondering what to do with himself, but he eventually figures it out. "Hey Caleb, you want to spar? I need some exercise and you seem like a worthy partner."
---------------------------------------- ooc: Thanks for the update Jeremy! For the rest of us, let's make sure we keep posting, even during the down time. We owe it to our DMs to do our part after all the work they have put into these modules and their daily posts. Explore and have some fun with it!"

'Osul goes about his usual morning activities. Today he is looking for open sky and a lake or long straight stretch of river in which to "practice".
Back at breakfast, an hour or two later,... "I have been, Atlas, as he calls to mind the layout of the Warden's Office and Residence. Assuming Elyngael, and Kahn occupy one front foorm, and Yurr'Neshi the other, I was thinking that Owen and his family could move into room 6. Assuming that might not be enough room for the three, I could relocate to Room 11 between... next to Armand, and we could set an open doorway between 6 and 7. What do you think?"

Armand is still working on building up the house library back at the Tree. As a member of the Sage's guild he feels something must be done to inspire learning and reading. He returns to the brothers house and takes the worn books off the shelf. OOC How worn were they? Were they just well used or were the covers falling off? If they are in too bad a condition he will then try to find someone capable of restoring them. He thinks to himself, 'Maybe a few mending spells would work. Actually he could use the 2nd level cleric spell make whole and repair the books over a few days.'
He will then look around town for anyone selling books.

Armand comments on 'Osul's room discussion. "There's always the Alchemy Room (C)on the second floor. None of us really use it."

OOC: After meditating this morning and recalling his reconnoitre from the previous morning, 'Osul found a nice open space to get used to the new huge air elemental and water elemental shapes. Assuming that water elementals don't displace water when they move through then there wasn't much to see there, particularly once he had traversed a good, straight length of waterway checking for obstructions and tight points. In the air was a different matter, when after getting his bearings, anyone who had a minute or so to watch would have seen him cover a mile in little more than a minute. And then well away from people and property he tried seeing what he could achieve using Whirlwind.
Then he came back for breakfast! Some people spar, ... :) 'Osul might ask to join the sparring later on, just in case he has no choice but to take a swing at something with his quarterstaff.

Elyngael offers to spar with Atlas. She also takes some time to wander outside the city with Khan. She contemplates making some purchases but is really not sure what to buy.
OOC Fixed the character sheet. Let me know if those are okay.
DM Jeremy Monday January 21st, 2019 6:04:25 AM OCC...The new module finally got approved, so I'll wrap up any business in Stonebriar, in the next couple of days, and then Rob will start the new module
Owen gives a very informative and entertaining lecture on the history of the Contested Kingdoms, after the lecture is over, Faithe and her husband approach Owen and ask him if he could teach a class on simple magic, maybe something in the way of some simple illusions, that could be used for protection in the future.
Atlas challenges Caleb for some sparring, which he gladly excepts saying, "I love a good spar, but maybe later this afternoon, as I have business at the WLA this morning, maybe some of you would like to join me at the charter house?
'Osul practices wild shaping into water and air elementals
Armand grabs the worn books from the brothers house, 5 in all, and realizes that a few mending spells will make them like new. the titles are: Where the red grass grows, A tale of 3 cities, and the Lord of the Bracelets trilogy.
Elyngael offers to spar with Atlas and mentions a desire to do some shopping at the catacombs, but isn't sure what to get.
Everyone tries to figure out where to house Owen and his family, certain they have plenty of room.

Owen is surprised by Faithe's question and unsure whether such a public lecture would fit in with the Star Mages' Guild ethos. Perhaps he can work around the issue, though...
He spends the morning copying spells into his Blessed Book at the Star Mages' Guild, learning True Strike, Spider Climb, Displacement, and Darkvision. (Spellcraft: 27, 34, 42, and 22. It's free for Owen to do so because of the Star Mages/Blessed Book combo.)
That evening he gives two more lectures at the Guild on the history of the Contested Kingdoms. The first discusses a wizard who grew so rich teaching cantrips and basic abjuration to townsfolk in the region that he was able to impose a kind of peace--by hiring away mercenaries from the local warlords who wanted to take them into battle. The second lecture describes John Gardener, a king who protected his people by training half of them to be hedge mages in their spare time. No invading force wanted to deal with children who know Shocking Grasp and housewives who can toss fireballs.
Hopefully, these lectures will encourage local Star Mages to offer affordable lessons to townsfolk like Faithe and her husband.

'Osul circulates (walks!) through the rest of the day - time with members of the party, looking for local druids to talk to - his druidicism has a notion of 'turf', so it makes sense to introduce himself. Before dinner he takes eagle form and to the sky to see what is going on - getting the lay of the land. At least there are no apparent trails of invisible orcs, orges and sundries.
DM Jeremy Tuesday January 22nd, 2019 6:29:11 AM Owen finishes his lectures on the history of the Contested Kingdoms, sharing stories of the past where Mages shared their knowledge of the arcane arts with the masses in hopes that local mages would get the hint, and share what they know at a reasonable price. All three of his lectures are very well received, and the head of the local chapter promotes Owen to the next level in the guild, with all the trappings that go along with the promotion.
Armand goes to the temple to meet with Renul to see if there is anything he can help with. When he arrives he can see that serious clean up efforts are in the works, even Renul is working a mop. When Renul sees Armand, he stops and leans on his mop in a leisurely manner saying he believes clean up is going smoothly, and that the temple should be back open to the public by tomorrow. He also mentions that a survey crew will be along later this week to see to the possibility of connecting the chamber below to the temple, and permanent closing of the current entrance. Renul says he hopes that the lower chamber will be used as a place of refuge for the good people of Stonebriar in case of attack. Renul offers Armand a mop and asks if wouldn't mind helping.
Neshi discovers a few suitable locations for emergency teleports, and takes the time to study them so as to make the trip safely.
Elyngael and Khan walk the country side enjoying the sheer loveliness of the Fair Meadows, and spies a doe keeping watch as her twin fawns frolic in a shallow stream.
'Osul walks with Elyngael and Khan until he meets a young, and obviously low level Druid named Treuvian. The two Druids spend the day chatting about the greatness of nature, and one would assume that 'Osul would share some pointers with the novice.
Since no one joined Caleb on his trip to the WLA, he went and did what he needed to do, He returned in time for dinner, with a smile on his face. Over dinner, he shares that he learned that this wasn't the only place the Death Dragon Cult reared its ugly head. In fact, both the Black Lions, and the Iron Dragons have recently had dealings with them, and are currently working on snuffing out the heads of the cult so as to permanently end their threat in the Wold. The local WLA chapter leader has promised to pass on the information of how the Tree Wardens put down the threat in the Contested Kingdoms, so the Wold at large has a chance to know that they played a role in the demise of the evil cult.
After dinner Hiram himself joins Caleb with the sparring matches claiming he is feeling a bit rusty, and hopes Atlas and Elyngael wouldn't mind going a few rounds with him as well. as the sparring goes on, Hiram shares that the preparations are complete for the move, and the wagon is loaded and ready to go, meaning that the Wardens can leave in the morning if they desire.
The next morning, after breakfast, Hiram meets the Wardens, Caleb, and Owen's family at the gates of his castle, with well wishes He says, "Know this, as long as I'm Lord Protector of these lands, you will always have a friend in the Fair Meadows, if you ever need anything, and it's within my power, all you have to do is ask! Farewell my friends". At that, Caleb flicks the reigns of the wagon, and the Wardens are heading home.

To help pass the time on the trip back Armand takes out his Masterwork Rhinoceros Horn Lyre, and begins to play. Performance 9 (d20+3) Unfortunately his playing is rather poor and it's obvious he's messing up the lyrics to whatever song he's trying to play.

'Osul's conversation with Treuvian focuses on checking there is local support - a circle or grove where his traiing can continue with like-minded druids. If as a novice he is not Wildshaping yet, he makes a point saying that he would also like to catch up on their next visit.
On the road, 'Osul takes to the air again - overwatch. Dropping in as the opportunities present.
