The Trip to Minotaur Island d20+4=16 ; d20+4=19 ; Tuesday February 5th, 2019 8:08:28 PM
The crew stands in neat rows. Many are injured but their status is getting better with help from the Petals. The remaining crew look ragged, like they have been up for weeks. They tell the Petals they are the original crew stranded within the hull. They were afraid to leave when it suddenly lurched into the sun for weeks. A thin, young man named Froeck steps forward and explains the struggles of living off the remains of a dragon turtle found outside the Ellenian peninsula. “It tasted like jelly filled donuts, I tell you.” he added. “We were unsure it was safe to reappear till this strange taur let us out.” Pointing to Circi. During the collection of the crew a few Bramble find goblin pirates hiding away in a dark corner of the ship. The Bramble bring a pair to the deck of the ship but they break free and leap from the bow of the ship. Another tries the same thing but is stopped by Ramsey and dragged to the group. There is talk of following the pirate ship but at this time of night it’s all but impossible to find a ship once it disappears into the darkness.
(OOC: Where would you like to head? You are currently stopped and anchored. The fan has been repaired but is not running. Profession: Sailor check: 16 to start moving into the darkness.) 800 xp each
Rolth Niheow (BatMark) (22/36 HP) Tuesday February 5th, 2019 8:46:16 PM
Rolth will manacle the remaining goblin to prevent further escape attempts, and suggests having several of the crew take him below decks and keep a close watch on him as well. "Perhaps we can interrogate him later, but for now, we should not speak of our plans in his presence."
Rolth would like to resume our journey to Minotaur Isle, barring any information that we glean from our captive that might suggest another course.
Kiwina (Steve M) (17/51 HP | AC:15; Touch:11; Flat:13; CMD:18) | HeP: 2 | Status: None d20+10=20 ; Tuesday February 5th, 2019 9:13:51 PM "All right, let's get back underway." (roll: sailor = 20, plus any aid given)
"I wouldn't mind hearing their tale from the crew, in detail," Kiwina observes, "After they're fed and their injuries are treated. I doubt Happy will really be happy to be busy this time of night, but let's get him cooking."
Kiwina agrees with Rolth that the Rose should head to Minotaur Island. He is also interested in learning how the interrogation of the goblin goes, but for the rest of the night he's going to be more interested in making sure the pirates aren't returning. And belatedly, he thanks Falco for the healing.
Tsak Rezar (Damien) AC15 (T13/F12) 36/36 HP| Falchion +4 2D4+3|Crossbow +1 1D8+1|Status: None d20+7=13 ; Wednesday February 6th, 2019 12:48:31 AM
(Profession: Sailor=13) Tsak acts as first mate, helping to get the ship underway. He also offers to take over the running of the ship should Kiwina wish to rest at any stage. Once the ship is underway and all is quiet Tsak takes a break and has a stern talk with Esmerelda regarding her inability to find goblins, hidden crew members and jelly donuts. The cat stares back unblinking, then starts to wash her paws ignoring him completely. He gives up and goes back to his duties.

If this new found crew is still injured Falco will use his last channel of the day to heal them somewhat. {+4 HP}
he acknoladges Kiwina's thanks with a nod of the head. "We all have our rolls to play."
He listens to the others talking but is, frankly, tired. Before heading to sleep he helps to get the fan running again. {Prof Sailor: 16}

Elyas is very interested in what the goblin has to say, but after a long fight in the middle of the night he is feeling drained and just wants to sleep. he stumbles back to his bed and is asleep almost before he closes his eyes, trusting the others to deal with the goblins.
Gothruk Gore (Logan) AC 16 (T13/F13) 29/31HP |Guisarme +7 2D6+6 | Status: None Wednesday February 6th, 2019 5:22:02 PM
Gothruk will look over the Goblin with some of the other crew taking shifts. Having been woken up to battle he probably won't be able to sleep for at least a couple hours.
Finnian (Zeke) (HP:21/27; AC: 16; Touch: 13; Flat: 13; CMD: 17) Status: None; CLW 19/50 Wednesday February 6th, 2019 5:46:21 PM
With the adrenelin gone Finnian is again racked with weariness. "I'll sleep above decks tonight"As I should have the last part he says to himself. "I can't be counted on to watch, but at least Ill be able to get up into the rigging quickly should we encounter anything further."
Finnian props himself up at the base of the mast and drifts off into sleep pretending that the mast is the trunk of a tall oak.
The Trip to Minotaur Island - part 2 Wednesday February 6th, 2019 7:47:31 PM Rolth will manacle the remaining goblin to prevent further escape attempts, and suggests having several of the crew take him below decks and keep a close watch on him as well. "Perhaps we can interrogate him later, but for now, we should not speak of our plans in his presence." Cerci and Ramsey take the goblin from the deckhands and attempt to secure manacles upon his wrist but the slick creature slipped from their grasp. The goblin leapt toward the edge of the boat but before it got far. Ramsey ripped a Bramble whip from his side and knocked the creature to the ground. Cerci followed up with another Bramble whip and secured the goblin’s feet together. The female Bramble centaur, named Dalilah approaches, “You got this boys or do I need to help.” Cerci threw a stern glance at the centaur then stood the goblin on it’s bound feet. Ramsey added the manacles and they began to take the goblin away. Goblin grumbles unintelligibly as he is taken away.
It is suggested that they continue toward Minotaur Isle and the new crew snaps to it. Several begin pulling up anchor as the Bramble start up the propellor and Ramsey takes the helm. Kiwina suggests hearing all about the crews tale at dinner. Happy smiles and is happy to oblige but asks for help treating the dead crew to a proper ‘at sea’ funeral. “The zombies..” he says. “I don’t think a cook should be anywhere near. So you’all will need to do something with them.”
Tsak acts as first mate, helping to get the ship underway.
Falco notices that the remaining crew members are well enough to get to work. He thanks Kiwina, helps with the propellor then heads to bed along with Elyas
Gothruk takes on the first shift guarding the angry pirate goblin.
Finnian volunteer to sleep within the above deck.

Kiwina considers Happy's words and finds he has no clue how to bury a zombie at sea. There is no point in the usual (to him) shrouds and words, since the zombies had no spirits to stay and protect the still-living. Might as well toss them overboard without ceremony, unless someone else thinks differently.
Meanwhile, Kiwina gets a head count on the crew, and wonders if they will want to leave once the Rose is in harbor. He leaves the interrogation of the goblin to others. And when things seem to have calmed down, may get some rest.

(Sailor=22) Tsak agrees with Kiwina and is happy to help toss zombies. He takes his turn guarding the surly little goblin and gets rest when there isn't much to do.
Tsak takes over when Kiwina needs a rest, using his expertise to make sure the boat doesn't sail in great big circles...
Rolth Niheow (BatMark) (30/36 HP) d20+8=20 ; Thursday February 7th, 2019 6:41:33 AM
Rolth gets a little rest, then goes down to check on the goblin. He will take along a little bit of food for the prisoner, to start working on a "good cop" interrogation. Earn the little beggar's trust, then pump him for information. He'll be careful to not let the creature bit him as he feeds him.
(Diplomacy = 20 to start changing the goblin's attitude)

Gothruk keeps a close eye on his captives. In another somehow escapes then he's in a good position to running tackle the goblin before it can go out the door. He also takes any weapons or Lockpicks, needles other things he finds as he pats them down. Perception = 19
The Trip to Minotaur Island - part 3 Thursday February 7th, 2019 7:09:48 PM Rolth attempts to speak to the goblin. He treats the small creature kindly but it does very little to help due to a communication gap. The Bramble relay the same issue but also add that the creature acts strangely around them. “It seems to be confused or afraid. I cannot tell.. Its a disgusting creature,” Ramsey says with a growl. “When we walk near it. It begins to chant something nonsensical, but of course I do not speak goblin. It could make sense but.. I guess it’s never seen a walking Bramble before. I believe goblins like to make homes in dense thicket or bramble but he ain’t making a home in me.”
Kiwina and Tsak toss the zombies overboard. The thin broken bodies splash upon the water then float toward the rear of the boat.
Meanwhile, Kiwina gets a head count on the crew and finds ten remaining crew members out of fifteen that left the room within the ship. Gothruk manages to find three lockpicks on dead goblins and two on the captive goblin. Your captive is not too thrilled at being searched and resists when he can. He shouts out in Goblin, words that could be interpreted as unkind or even threats to a native Goblin speaker.
Outside of the in-ship drama the Rose approached Minotaur Isle as dawn breaks across the horizon. (OOC: Where would you like to dock the ship once you reach the island? You may visit the Catacombs once you step from the boat and several organizations have taken up residence on the beach. Minotaur Island Map

(Can we say the 5 crew that didn't make it got decent burials at sea or will get them on Minotaur Island, depending on the traditions of their companions?)
The party docks at the harbor at Castle Violet, since that is where they expect to find the Purple Duke and seek information on Cecil.
Before leaving the ship, Kiwina makes sure that the disc from the navigation set is secure in his cabin, and carries the compass from the set.
"Do we plan to go to the catacombs, and which items do you want to sell?" When the crew cannot hear, he also asks, "Do we intend to keep a crew, and if so what arrangements do you think we should offer?"
Tsak Rezar (Damien) AC15 (T13/F12) 36/36 HP| Falchion +4 2D4+3|Crossbow +1 1D8+1|Status: None Friday February 8th, 2019 12:25:35 AM
Tsak enjoys the majesty of a sun-rise at sea, then gets down to the business of getting the Rose docked and secured. Having been captive most of the times he worked as a sailor he has no idea what the 'going rate' is for the crew of the ship. If there is free time Tsak will try to find a blacksmith and discuss possible changes to the system that powers the Rose. He would like to investigate using a chain instead of the leather belt arrangement.
Other than that he looks forward to showing Esmerelda around the port city and maybe taking in an ale or two.
Rolth Niheow (BatMark) (30/36 HP) Friday February 8th, 2019 6:40:08 AM
Rolth is all for the sale of unneeded goods in the Catacombs. He suggests that folks claim things from the pile of loot, then we sell the rest. With respect to the crew, we should perhaps have the new fellows who wish to remain swear some oaths of loyalty and decent behavior, much as our Bramble crew did. But they were brigands back in the Sargrass, so let's make sure they seem to be genuine in their intentions!
Rolth will also visit the WLA on the beach and see what else we can learn about the demon we seek.

Falco agrees that some sales are in order and hopes to get a bit of coin out of the deal. When the topic of the crew comes up he nods.
"A crew would be important. We cannot run ourselves ragged trying to do it all and be ready to fight when called on. I think a simple arrangement should be made, a weekly stipend and maybe a percentage, like 2%, of what me make goes to the crew. It never hurts to buy loyalty."
{ooc: I have no idea what is normal for the crew of a boat in the Wold. Clearly the precentage is meant to be above standard pay and give them a reason to stay true.}

The town outside of Castle Violet is a busy port because it is the primary port serving Imod City, the landlocked capital. Ships sits on the left of you and the right. Homes in town are decorated in violet colored roofs. The color is everywhere. It is the minotaur town most friendly toward non-minotaurs, because it is a busy seaport and because it was mostly spared the brunt of the Mino-Cen Wars. The lord of the town, the Purple Duke of Castle Violet is a gourmand and patron of the arts. He is referred to only by his title, “Duke Purple.” His nightly feasts are well-known for their deliciousity.
Kiwina and others discuss crew compensation Tsak looks into the location of a good blacksmith. After a search Tsak finds a smithe does not reside near Castle Violet but there is a minotaur named Zancrun Jarl in Imod City. Rolth finds that the WLA office is actually within Ft. Beast on the Northern coast. (OOC: apologize for the misinformation) The team talks about selling their wares and paying the new boat crew.

Gothruk agrees that the quickest way would to be to go to the Duke directly He was very welcoming last time we were here and this time we have much grander stories we can tell. The battle of the blade grass Plains should entertain him. Also good thinking to warn of the devil. I would want to know about such a thing travelling inside my duchy. Gothruk also wants to bind the mouth of the goblin, Magic is a common thing he's surprised it wasn't done already. He's not sure if he's confident leaving it with the plantaurs while they visit the town, he might decide to stay behind and watch the goblin.
Rolth Niheow (BatMark) (30/36 HP) Sunday February 10th, 2019 9:06:22 PM "Good thinking, Gothruk, perhaps the Duke can interrogate and try this pirate for his crimes. We can add that to the list of things to talk to the Duke about.”

(Ooc: As far as leaving the Star Mages, I will leave that rp up to you. There are rumors of an agent in Imod City.) -- Information about the pirates is easy to obtain. Docking at Castle Violet, part 3 Tuesday February 12th, 2019 9:30:38 PM
The doors to the Duke’s castle swing open wide as large minotaur guards allow you to step in. Inside, there are tables placed in formation with four creatures sitting at each table. The atmosphere is tense as the creatures study each other. Outside of the main arena there are vendors selling food. A sign sits in front of a smaller entrance to the area stating that the area is off limits to anyone not playing a game called Arrow Trap. The Duke is no where to be found. What do you look for? Where to start? (Ooc: Perception rolls noted.) Further information from the taverns runs dry. Conversations about the pirates seem to bring up irritation. The goblin is less than thrilled to handed over to any authority. Especially irked when he is handed to a member of the Soul of Imod. The warrior looks upon the goblin with disgust. He grabs the creature, thanks [b]Gothruk[b] and takes it away. He stops and adds instructions that the goblin will be housed in Imod City when the party is ready to talk to it. After the interrogation the goblin will be hung like all pirates.
Rolth Niheow (BatMark) (30/36 HP) d20+10=22 ; Tuesday February 12th, 2019 10:12:57 PM
Rolth will start by taking a look around from outside the entrance and seeing whether he can spot Captain Cecil, or someone of the right build who is somehow concealing his face (like under a hood.) If that is unsuccessful, he will seek to enter and play, at as low stakes as possible, in order to get a look around. If given a choice, he will choose a table at the far end of the room in order to see as many players on the way to the table as possible.

Kiwina doubts that Cassia would be able to help the party directly, but she may be able to introduce them to someone who can. While they may get lucky looking for Cecil, he would prefer to narrow down the area they need to worry about. And if Cecil has to stay near the bow of his ship, maybe looking for that would help.

Docking at Castle Violet, part 4 Wednesday February 13th, 2019 10:37:01 PM
Captain Cecil is no where to be found in the Duke's castle. Hooded characters, suspicious individuals surround the group and sit at the tables in front of you. There are seats scattered throughout the room. Some tables are playing cards and others are watching.
Kiwina's inquiry about the driad named Cassia leads him out to the Purple garden. The large inner walls of the compound disappear and reveal a large walled garden. There are paths built within the garden. The dryad is near the back standing over a patch of Cithara. To the left and half submerged in an Elephant Ear plant is the ever jovial Duke. Gothruk interrupts Elyas as he begins to cast a spell. Luckily, for Elyas his friend may have saved him from a hassle from the guards.
The Petals also manages to figure out some of the basic rules of the Arrow trap game. Gothruk finds it is a trump-called card game, played with 6 groups of face cards. The trap being a pair of trump thrown upon the table at the right moment. Suddenly, several players stand, curse and leave. They are quickly replaced by new players. Bet's at the table start at a single silver piece and go up.

Kiwina After the past few days and especially him poor showing in the fight with the pirates, Kiwina is glad to be away from the gambling tables. He just hasn't been lucky lately.
Kiwina approaches Cassia and the Duke, stopping between the two. "You Grace," “Welcome, young adventurer. Tell me, did you win the taurnament?”
"Cassia," he adds, "It's good to see you. Did you weather the storms and bloodgrass well here on Minotaur Island?" “That was truely terrifying,” Cassia says with a smile. “My sisters and I took shelter in our homes. How are you, Kiwina? That is your name, right?”
Rolth attempts a hand of Arrow Trap but finds the cards really were unkind and loses quickly. (Ooc: Let's make it a Charisma roll for the rest of the module.)

If the Duke is still there, he will introduce himself with his usual fierce politeness. "Yes, your grace, we were fortunate enough to win the Taurnament, and most of us have remained together as a group, having become fast friends during those trials and more. Speaking of more, have you heard the poem, Charge of the Dark Brigade, which recounts our adventures encountering the reborn Sargrass alongside some of the Wold's great heroes? I would be glad to reprise it for you, if you wish." Pleasantries done, Rolth will go on to warn about the likely presence of the demon Aaroth here at the gambling event, along with our acquaintance, Captain Cecil, who may be in dire straights. Has the Duke heard of either? Rolth will also relate our encounter with the pirates and handing over of the surviving goblin to his guards for questioning and trial.

We are having a party at the end of the competition. A celebration to thank them for all their work.” “A demon,” the Duke says and pauses. “Interesting, I have made some progress in marketing if a demon feels comfortable to join the island games. The demon has to be on the island if you are here… but.. I have not heard of this demon.” “I’ve heard of the unfortunate situation with the Herald…” Mention of the pirates noticeably changes the Dukes mood. (roll: geography = 11) Let's hope this complain at Fort Ixion isn't our demon -- that's halfway around the island.
Finishing the story, Kiwina realizes most of his companions have caught up with him. "I'm guessing Finnian and Elyas are still looking for Cecil at the tables?"
Kiwina isn't sure what to make of the conversation around him. It never would have occurred to him to link the appearance of a demon with a successful marketing campaign, and he is somewhat taken aback that -- after a passable rendition of the party's adventures -- Cassia first thought of island security and not the cup of tea they didn't get to have the last time he was here. Perhaps the pressures of life in the big castle just make them think differently than he would.

He also adds a thought that he had forgotten to mention to the Duke. "I am glad to hear that you will not suffer the pirates to trouble your nearby waters. One more piece of information that you might be interested in--the pirates are apparently in league with the demon Aaroth. When we drove the pirates off after their attack on our ship, they shot a message over on a bolt that we should abandon our pursuit of the demon and Captain Cecil. I don't know what to make of the connection, but it suggests that there is some deeper plot afoot."
To Cassia, he will inquire, "MIght we speak with the noble Marcus, who reported the incident at the port of Fort Ixion? Do you know where he might be found? And what sort of incident was it?"
To the Petals, he opines that the Eight Petaled Rose should head to Imod CIty. We could accompany the goblin pirate and his guards to ensure there is no escape or rescue (or even assassination to keep him quiet), attend the interrogation there, visit the smith that Tsak is looking for, drop by the Star Mages, and maybe even find the demon playing Domi Hold-em High there. That is, of course, unless the information regarding Fort Ixion is of more immediate concern.

Ramsey do your best to look after the ship mate. But if sonething bad happens make sure you and the crew are safe, the boat can be replaced but you can't. And you've got the rest of the crew to keep track of now so no slacking off. Gothruk gives a big mintaurian smile as he collects his bag and weapons for travel.
He'll join Rolth with being perceptive on the roads, with pirates around there may also be goblin bandits.

Goblin and a trek Wednesday February 20th, 2019 10:09:41 PM
Finnian "Any in particular that goblins might frequent?” Finnian asks, throwing down another 5 silver. “You know”, the human card player said with a slight slurrr.. “Goblins don’t like to gamble. They are do, um.. Not smart. You just won 20 silver, right. A goblin would be not be able to hold the cards.” With that the entire table erupts in laughter. Ramsey takes the funds offered with a smile and a thank you. He promises to distribute the funds to the crew of ten plus four Bramble taur. He then returns to work on the outside of the boat. The pirate intervention had caused some damage to the boat. Tsak wakes from his nap and joins the others as they walk to the meeting point. A pair of Purple guards appear at the designated meeting place. The goblin is draped in a dirt covered smoke and a hood. Your perception picks up hints of broken common mixed with venomous goblin curses. The guards secure the goblin and bind the small creature to a rope. The rope is connected to a waist belt on each guard. Behind the port city is a valley. In the center of the valley is the River of Imod. If you decide to trek over the the hills it will add a couple hours to the trip but may avoid an accidental dip into the river. The river has some rough patches. Elyas [ooc: should we have the crew pilot the ship around the island to meet us at the fort? if we need a quick escape or anything it would be handy to have our ship nearby]

Rolth notes that the goblin seems to understand a little bit of Common, and quietly points this out to the others, suggesting that nothing of importance be discussed in its presence during the trip. He will continue to keep a sharp eye out for trouble.
He also agrees that the Rose should stay put, rather than go sailing and perhaps run into more pirates or other troubles without us.

Rolth join Kiwina and suggest that the Petals and their charges also line up on the side of the road away from the river, so as to avoid any unfortunate 'accidents' that these fun loving minotaurs might cause. He looks to make sure that the goblin is still secured by the ropes, in case someone decides to try to snatch him and put him into the river. Then in a loud voice he will say, "Make way for the Duke's guards. Make way, make way! We would love to join your revels, but we're on official business for now. Minotaur warrior 1 and 3: seem the least drunk of the four. They are jovial and shove the other two. “I’m sorry for our friends,” warrior 1 says. “Yeah, they got a little drunk in the city, now we are heading the the castle. If we can…” Minotaur warrior 2: Laughs and trips over his own feet and falls into warrior 4 causing him to tumble into the river. Both minotaur take on some damage and both are swept up in the torrent of water below. Minotaur 4 goes under first and reappears coughing. Rolth will cast expeditious retreat on himself and then move quickly downstream to get ahead of the sodden minotaurs, drawing out his rope as he moves. (Move 80' first round, then move or run up to 320' the second if necessary.) He will then cast summon instrument to bring into being a djun drum, which he will tie off to his rope as a float, and then toss it to the minotaurs as a rescue float. If he has time to tie off the rope to a tree or other solid object, he will. Otherwise brute strength will work fine, and he can rage if necessary to add strength as he drags in the stricken minotaurs.

Elyas watches as the minotaurs fall in the water, but is not quick to the rescue. he is not the fastest or strongest member of the party, and has no spells that would help to pull a wet minotaur to shore. instead he stays witht he goblin and tries hard not to laugh at the misfortune of the minotaurs. Oops - A minotaur tipsy - DM Matt Monday February 25th, 2019 9:39:19 PM
Rolth summons a drum, ties it to a rope and tosses it into the river. The first lost minotaur attempts to grab the drum. The minotaur barely holds on but he takes the opportunity to swim forward with the help. With Falco and Task’s help the first minotaur makes it to shore. He coughs and sits on the shore. Finnian’s dolphin appears but the second minotaur struggles to stay above the water. The dolphin tries it’s best to keep the minotaur above water, giving the poor guy a few more seconds of air. He sinks and reappears seconds later. Kiwina scans the river to find a good sized tree and a shallow entrance just up the river. The minotaur sinks again and he may only have seconds before he drowns. The other minotaur begin to stir. They grab the rescued minotaur and attempt to help, being drunk. It is less than helpful.
Tsak is out of ideas and hopes that none of the friends are foolish enough to jump in. He's very wary of anyone jumping into the river to try to rescue the remaining minotaur. The guy is way too big to try helping him in the water, and in a panicked state could do just about anything. He wanders how far a bolt from his crossbow would go with a rope attached? And at this point figures it may be worth a try. Taking the rope from Rolth he ties it around a bolt and, aiming high and in front of the minotaur, fires it off. He then grabs the other end of the rope (secured under his foot) and prepares to hang on...

Meet Sero - DM Matt Wednesday February 27th, 2019 10:03:24 PM
The purple guards move forward coldly with the goblin in hand. The goblin growls and swears. He seems to have gotten his attitude back. “Are you talking the Captain Cecil? The captain of the Herald? I have heard of him. He is a frequent guest of the Duke and I have heard he is a huge gambler. He once ran up a debt so large to a demon that the demon threatened to kill him and his descendants for a 100 years. That’s just a story drummed up by sailors. You know sailors and their stories.” “Thank you,” another minotaur says. “You are truly heroes.” “We actually come from the city. Guards, of the gates to the city. Are you headed there? If so ask for Cornil, Sergeant of Arms.. He will let you in the gate.” “Incidents, there was an incident a week ago. My name is Sero”, says a blue eyed minotaur. “I saw a tall octopus looking man leading a scraggly, looking ship captain around in chains. The weird octopus-human-isk creature would not let him out of his sight.” “Sero, I tell you you didn’t see that creature,” said one of the recently saved minotaur. It was dark and you just think you saw it.” “No, man - it was that demon you were talking about.” “Nah..just let them move onto the city. Don’t fill their heads with stories that are not true. Kiwina looks at Sero carefully. "Where did you see this he'e, this octopus man? Which city, what neighborhood, near the water?" “I saw him in the city, Imod City, but he left and he headed North.” Sero said.
Falco "This may be what we are looking for my fine men. You say human-octopus creature, the idea of this sort of pairing is not unusual to one such as me, was it the size of a man? Larger? Smaller? It might be the best lead we have." “I would think not,” said one of the other minotaur. “You are a talking, walking bird… no offense of course. Just an observation.” Sero glared at the taur. “The octopus man was over six foot tall, not including the tentacles. He was not hard to find walking through the city with a pirate looking man chained to him. I initially thought that the creature was a bounty hunter with a pirate for a prize but I may have been wrong. The prisoner was not fit to fight or resist from what I saw. An octopus belongs in the water not on land. It’s just a bit unsettling to think it may have been a demon.” “I still don’t believe you man.” Sero waved the comment off. “Gentlemen, we will let you head out. The minotaur move past, talking up a storm. Likely, to spread the good news about the adventurers. The trip to Imod City is uneventful, except for an odd creature every now and then. The gate, as expected, towers over the tallest taur. A large green wall shimmers in the early evening sun. Three guards, one in a purple sash and others in a deep red stand facing toward. There are several 2-foot diameter holes mid height. The Purple guards approach first and hand over the goblin to the Purple gate guard. The goblin bolts but gets no more then a chain length away before hitting the ground.

Finnian Elyas looks around trying to ensure nothing untoward is happening Rolth Niheow tries to be polite and encouraging, seeking out the Sergeant at Arms Kiwina attempts to aid Rolth, but just earns a raised eyebrow in response. Gothruk Falco Ambersier attempts his own charm to the proceedings.
The Petals are all looked over by the guards, one of them cocks an eye at Kiwina and his attempt at charming them. The guards look at one another, when one sighs, who you assume is the junior of the two people on duty.
“He is going to find the Sergeant. Wait here.”
The guard in the purple sash guides you to one side, and indicates a couple of seats for you to sit on.
After a few minutes of waiting a Minotaur in similar unifor to the other guards shows up, except he has a red sash with gold filigree on the edges, clearly marking him as some sort of officer. His eyes dart across each one of you, apparently taking a measure of you as a group.

Rolth Niheow attempts to charm the sergeant, and does a better job than he did on the guard. Kiwina asks about being present for his interrogation. Gothruk Falco Ambersier remains silent despite his sarcastic thoughts.
The Sergeant nods, and gestures for you to follow him in, and he guides you into the city proper.
“Well I don’t know about you being able to watch the interrogation. I’ll have to check with Lord Marcus, see what he says.”
He begins guiding you through Imod City, which is a large city on the Isle, with winding streets and back alleys and large market streets with spaces for stalls and a bustle of people. It’s fairly clean, and you can smell the pleasant aroma of fresh baked bread and almost taste it. Eventually the Sergeant guides you to a tavern.

The Interrogation Part I (DM Dan) d20+8=28 (Rolled in Sargrass in error!) d20+1=12 ; Wednesday March 6th, 2019 6:45:52 PM Tsak Rezar takes some extra time to pamper himself and relax. Finnian Elyas tries to listen for any rumours but fails to hear any, and tries to copy spells across into his spellbook. Rolth Niheow takes time to relax before going out to find some possible gambling dens. ((You manage to hear that your quarry does appear to have been doing some gambling, and indeed he has been at the Purple Dukes Gambling Houses. You however only make about 2 gold pieces)) Kiwina queries Lord Marcus’ involvement in the city, and finds that it is the Plum Inn that they had heard so much about. Gothruk receives an odd letter that he quickly reads. Falco Ambersier takes the time to walk the city, absorbing the details he can.
((OoC: There has been 2 rests since the Pirate Battle. And yes Elyas you could have taken ten, if you would like to retcon in that you did, I’m happy for you to do so.))
During your evening you all relax, those that take in the sites and sounds of Imod City realise it is split into different areas, each a Fort that controls part of the City, Fort Ixiom is the largest and main one, with Fort Beast another. It appears to hail from a time when they were seafront forts, that slowly amalgamated into one city. Each Fort is ruled by a separate “Lord” and the three of them tend to argue quite a bit.
The next morning you are all awoken for breakfast in the tavern, when a small runner comes up to you.
“Good morning sirs! I have a message from Lord Marcus. His Grace requests that you come to Fort Ixiom for the interrogation of the Prisoner! I also have a letter for a mister Gore?”
Gothruk takes the letter and quickly scans through it before crumpling it up and throwing it in the fire, a pained look coming over his face. He takes a deep breath before speaking, his voice weaker than you are used to.
“I must return home… it would seem my master has taken ill and is dying. He has requested I return to him before he dies. I am sorry friends, I will try to return if I can.”
He then quickly says his goodbyes and grabs his pack before heading out the door to barter passage home.
The rest of you continue to Fort Ixiom, where you are met by a guard in a Purple sash, who guides you through the fort to a relatively small room which you mostly have to squash into to fit, the smell of sweat and fear hits you like a wall as you enter, and their is a plain wooden table with a chair either side.
In one of the chairs you see the goblin is restrained to it, looking somewhat afraid. Across from him sits a minotaur in purple robes staring evenly at the Goblin, after a few moments he turns to the Petals.
“I understand you wished to be present. I am going to do you one better. I want you to interrogate this reprobate while I am here so I can see what you’re capable of.”
How do you react?

(Intimidate=20) Tsak spends his first hour of the day in meditation. He is shocked by the departure of Gothruk and looks around at the dwindling party of Petals with some dismay. The task of defeating the demon will be that much harder now. But that is the duty of the heroes. At the Fort he is a bit taken aback by the Mintaur's request, and his first thought is that none of the party speaks goblin. Sir, is there anyone on your staff that may act as an interpreter? I fear none of us is able to speak the native tongue of this creature. That done he tries to think of suitable questions. Well aware of the perception many have of his race, Tsak is prepared to play the 'bad man' in the hope that one of the others may 'befriend' the goblin and get more out of it (Intimidate=20). He will not, however, torture a bound and defenceless creature, even a foul, evil little beast such as this.

Rolth will gladly take the roll of "good cop"! He steps up after Tsak's intimidating show, and speaks to the goblin in slow, clear common, since the fellow has obviously been picking up on our language during the trip. A court interpreting can always help out, if available. Rolth will speak comfortingly and beguilingly, using his power to fascinate the goblin, which ought to drop his ability to see through our act. (DC13 WILL save) Rolth will then start trying to gain his trust, offering him protection from the big, mean half orc. Keeping up a fascinating patter, Rolth will eventually work his way around to some questions, answers to which would be so easy and might better the poor little goblins situation. Things like:
How did he come to be a pirate? Who was the bold pirate Captain that he worked for? That ship was nice, what was it named? Where is it home ported? Who did the Captain work for and with? What mention did he make of Aaroth or Captain Cecil? Why did they attack the Rose? What were they supposed to do with ship and its crew if they took it? Where are they planning to strike next? Do you repent of your wicked ways?
That'll do to start! Diplomacy = 22

He had a brief thought of what he would do if the group ever disbanded, but had trouble coming up with anything that sounded appealing, so he let the thought drop.
After they were given the task of actually doing the interrogation, Elyas looked to Falco. Do any of your new powers allow you to sense the truthfulness of this pirate's answers? As you know, I have given up any study in magics that influence the mind or will, so I am not able to help in pulling information from this creature. but I have seen priests who can sense a lie or convince an enemy to give up secrets

Finnian rises, prepares his spells. And follows the others.
The Interrogation Part II (DM Dan) Thursday March 7th, 2019 6:02:55 PM Tsak Rezar asks for an interpreter while attempting to intimidate the goblin. Finnian simple follows along with the rest of the petals. Elyas queries whether Falco has any ability to discern lies this goblin may tell. Rolth Niheow begins speaking in common at the goblin, and trying to befriend him. Kiwina tries to add to Tsak’s intimidation attempts. Falco Ambersier just watches the goblin to see how he reacts.
The man in robes nods at the question to get an interpreter, and leaves the room, summoning another Minotaur who enters and listens to Rolth’s questions before repeating them back in the rather annoying goblin language.
He listens carefully to the goblin’s responses before answering some of the questions.
“He says that he has always been a sailor, he won’t tell you who the captain is, the ships name is none of your business. The captain didn’t work for anyone. He doesn’t know who this Cecil is, but Aaroth is a name he heard the captain mention once before. They attacked the Rose because they were paid to. They weren’t supposed to take it, just deliver a message, but the captain decided to try and make a bit more profit on the trip. He says he doesn’t know where they were planning on striking next, he wasn’t privvy to that information. He also says he’s not done anything wrong.”
The translator then waits to see if you have any further questions.
At this the Minotaur in Purple speaks up.
“It would appear this goblin knows little and will tell you less. If you have any further questions, ask them swiftly. But also, tell me, why did you come to my City?”
It becomes apparent that this is Marcus, Lord of Fort Ixiom. His gruff nature and no-nonsense attitude is apparent, as is his disdain for wasting his time.
