Rolth thinks to himself, When two taurs love each other very much, and they snuggle up...no it is too much, I'll have to sum up. He says aloud, "We are here to ask for your help. We have reason to believe that our friend, Captain Cecil of the Herald, has been taken captive by the octopus-headed demon Aaroth. We have followed them here to Minotaur Island, despite the mercenary efforts of the goblin pirates who Aaroth hired to block our way. We spoke to the Purple Duke, who said that you had reported an incident here, and sent us to to speak with you and see if the two stories are connected. On the way, we aided Sero, a guard in Imod City, who also told us of seeing an octopus headed man with a sailing captain captive, here in the city, but headed north. So it is that we, the Eight Petaled Rose, present ourselves before you, and ask for your assistance in this matter. Will you aid us in this just cause?"

"Aaroth is described as a octopus-man and a demon. One report of him came from or through you. He has kidnapped the captain of the Herald, a centaur named Cecil, who has helped us in the past." Kiwina begins to explain, but finds that Rolth has already done so admirably. So he switches his train of thought. "Beyond that is the observation that piracy is increasing in the King's Channel. If the pirates are allied with the demon, there is some hope that foiling his plots may set the pirates back."

Falco lets Elyas know that he is not a powerful enough cleric to compel the truth, being a votive cleric limits the gifts he can call on.

As the interrogation continues and morphs into a recap of what has happened Falco remains silent. There is little he can add.

By the time Elyas is finished talking with Falco, it appears that the interrogation is already over. Elyas is not surprised that they got little from the goblin, but is a little surprised at how fast the guards gave up considering how much work went into bringing the captive here.

to Lord Marcus, Elyas says Sir, you have multiple sightings of a dangerous demon in your city. and you have a group of experienced adventurers in front of you asking your permission to help find this demon. We don't mean to inconvenience you, but any aid you can give us can help us end a threat to your city.

[diplomacy=20]

Elyas is apparently frustrated with the group's motives being questioned at every turn, and suddenly finds himself speaking to a lord of a keep, and without his normal awkwardness.

Tsak Rezar apparently cheers up a bit.

Elyas almost snaps at the Lord, his temper apparently becoming frayed.
Rolth Niheow again tries to charm this Lord and doesn’t do a half bad job.
Kiwina adds some weight to Rolth’s words.
Falco Ambersier waits and watches for a time to speak up.

Marcus looks at each of you, an even look as if to size you all up. His demeanour softens, but only very slightly.

“So you are hunting the demon… this could be of service to me. Tell me, have you any clues at this stage beyond the word of the Guard Sero? Did he see him within my part of the City, Fort Ixiom, or in another part? Perhaps Fort Beast? Or one of the non fort areas?”

He pauses, waiting for your answer and once given, speaks again.

“You would perhaps do well to search some of the gambling houses in Fort Beast. It’s where I have heard the largest number of rumours about a strange man with an Octopus head.”

He gives you directions to the gambling houses, both in the Fort Ixiom district of the City and the Fort Beast district.

“I would like to know if you manage to deal with the demon, as you said, he may be the cause of the greater number of pirates.”

And with a nod, the interpreter drags the goblin out of the room to an uncertain fate.

Well, this demon is known to involve itself in gambling, so it would make sense for it to be there. We are getting closer to our goal, it would be good for us to try to ask around quietly this time, to avoid being found and ambushed by a demon...

Falco for the first time tries to run though his brain for what this octopus headed creature might really be. He is smart enough to know he should think about it but not near smart enough to come up with an idea.

As the others talk he keeps thinking about the octopus head. He chuckles as he pictures a head that, like an octopus, could be squeezed into a small container or shoot ink.

Gambling your lives... Part I (DM Dan)
Monday March 11th, 2019 5:51:06 PM

Tsak Rezar has his spirits lift at the knowledge that gambling houses await.
Finnian queries whether the Duke is involved.
Elyas explains how discretion is the better part of valour.
Rolth Niheow inquires about the proper procedures, and thanks the Lord for his time.
Kiwina wishes to plan a slightly better plan than all of the gambling houses.
Falco Ambersier wracks his brains trying to figure out what sort of creature this Aaroth might be, but gets no thoughts.

Lord Marcus speaks.

“Once you have found more information, return here, to Fort Ixiom, tell the guards you wish to speak with me and they will fetch me. Many of the more… profitable Gambling houses are owned by the Purple Duke, and most of his gambling houses have purple paint outside. If you find one of those, that is where I would begin looking.”

With that, you are guided outside into the streets of the Fort Ixiom district. You begin to head towards the Fort Beast district where you find the streets are far more windy, and many more passages and alleys.

It is clear that Fort Beast is larger than Fort Ixiom, but is less affluent. There are more entertainment areas, such as taverns and gambling houses, and less wealthy homes.

The first gambling house you come upon is not one with purple walls, however they direct you to one of the Purple Duke’s Gambling houses, The Grape Gambler. Upon entering, everyone stops for a moment to look at the adventurers who have just entered their midst, you could all hear a pin drop in the silence, as the smell of sweat and stale ale invades your nostrils, the tang of an unwelcome air on your tongue.

What do you do?

Finnian manages to find a game to play in, and doesn’t do too badly at it, not losing, but not really gaining any realistic amounts either.
Elyas looks around the room but spots nothing, however he realises none of the gamblers are looking at the back room.
Rolth Niheow attempts to charm the other gamblers and sits down at a table.
Kiwina listens in closely to the conversations, overhearing that the gamblers aren’t sure what to expect, it’s unusual for so many people to arrive at once.
Falco Ambersier attempts to help Rolth’s settle in.

After you all sit down and begin to relax, and play the games, some of the gamblers seem more at ease around you, and begin to open up, allowing you to discuss what is going on.

At the tables they discuss how you are the second set of newcomers to this house, as it is mostly filled with regulars, and they have found that very strange, and are not entirely happy about it either.

What do you do to investigate?

After a pause or an comment on that Falco continues.

"So this other group, where they like us, armed for adventure? It sounds they were here recently, maybe they also competed in the Taurnament and we know them, anything unusual about them."

Of course they were not in the Taurnament but maybe that will make my comment less strange.

Elyas tries to ensure they are not followed.
Rolth Niheow leads the way onto the next gambling house.
Kiwina tries to put the gambler’s minds at ease.
Falco Ambersier attempts to find out where to go next.

You are given fairly simple directions to the next gambling house, and you head there immediately. It doesn’t appear like anyone is following you, or indeed showing you any mind at all.

Once you arrive at the Lavender House of Luck, you are met by a friendly barkeep who invites you all over to the bar for a drink, the atmosphere in here is much more friendly than at the previous establishment.

“What can I get ya?” Asks the barkeep.

Tsak Rezar orders a drink and surveys this gambling house
Finnian
Elyas watches everyone.
Rolth Niheow pumps the barkeep for information.
Kiwina looks around the room, looking for anyone who particularly seems out of place.
Falco Ambersier listens in to Rolth’s attempts at conversation, to try and see how trustworthy the barkeep is.

This gambling house has several different sort of games, some where it’s all against all, (a la poker) and some against The House (such as blackjack). The drinks you order all smell strongly of alcohol, and are apparently quite strong. Particularly Rolth’s though the house itself smells quite clean, and looks clean, there is a freshness here there wasn’t at the previous gambling house, the wooden floor and bar are all clean and the tables have felt cloths on them to help with the gaming going on.

As you survey the room, you see most people are just continuing with their games, no one seems to stand out, but those of you paying attention to the crowd see people’s ears prick up and they seem to pay a bit more attention to the newcomers who are watching the whole room when the name “Cecil” is mentioned.

“Well, he was in here. That Octopus headed chap used the back room for some special game. I gather he does it at a few places, much higher stakes that what most of my customers are expecting.”

Falco please read -

Elyas ruminates on waiting, wondering if it would be a viable tactic.
Rolth Niheow tries to investigate more about Cecil and the octopus headed man.
Kiwina inquires more about the octopus headed mans habits.
Falco Ambersier rues their lack of access to the previous back room, and shares his understanding with his companions.

The barkeep nods.

“I’m afraid ‘e left. Coupl’a hours ago maybe? I don’t know if he’ll return, but probably not today. He usually hangs out at the Duke’s places, as they tend to have private rooms for private games.”

The barkeep responds to Tsak, while cleaning a glass, a small smile on his face.

“We’re not really that sort of establishment. It’s drink, and game, and go home. Well there’s several taverns.” ((He then lists off a few different Inns nearby, you have see a couple of them on the way here.))

As if in response to Finnian’s request, the door to the back room opens, and out steps a half orc, who looks frustrated, and who goes and sits at the bar, ordering a strong drink. He is accompanied by a Liontaur who is wearing a purple robe, marking him out as some sort of official at this establishment.

The barkeep speaks up.

Tsak Rezar looks in the back room and spots the telltale signs of gambling having happened in here, and it looks like things may have gotten heated.
Finnian sits, watching everyone else.
Elyas tries to find out if Angus knows more than he might be saying.
Rolth Niheow attempts to elicit more information from this odd half orc.
Kiwina looks in the back room, and finds a small scrap of cloth, and a card with writing on it, that looks very much like Cecil’s handwriting, it simply says “cheat” on it.
Falco Ambersier finds several sips and notes from various other bars and gambling houses, The Violet Coloured Bar, The Lilac Lounge, The Indigo Inn, The Regal Room to name a few.
Angus Macgrump introduces himself and inquires about possibly tagging along.

The barkeep continues to serve you guys drinks as you discuss things. The tentacle is something that appears to have come off an octopus, but almost as if it was shed, and pointedly not cut off. Elyas unfortunately cannot tell any more about it, whether it is natural or magical in nature.

The bar’s hubbub hasn’t died down, and the Liontaur in purple robes is just keeping a close eye on Angus, it’s clear he’s not happy the Half-orc is still here, but there’s little he can do about it, other than that, everyone ignores you.

So upon hearing the news about Angus helping them, Kiwina has a few questions. "How long were you working for Squidly's games? Just here, or did you travel with him? Where else has he been, either that you've seen or heard about? Any pattern to his showing up here that you saw?"

You arrive at the Lilac Lounge, it is another gambling house, as you have come to expect, in this case a few of them look up at you, but the majority stick to their games. The barkeep nods politely to each of you, and you don’t seem to attract too much attention.

Kiwina is concerned with the plan for when they catch up with Aaroth and Cecil
Falco Ambersier also relaxes and does nothing.
Angus Macgrump realises it may be a good idea to figure out who he has now lumped himself in with

The barkeep smiles.

“Oh aye, I saw ‘em, then went in the backroom.” He indicates a door not dissimilar from the others you have checked in previously. “Yer welcome to go in there if ya like, they may be happy to have another few players in their game.”

He smiles as he gets you all drinks as you request them.

Upon opening the door to the back room, there is nothing there, save for the table, stools, a still cooled drink and a scroll of some description. If there were here, they must have left just before you arrived…

What do you want to do to investigate?

"Did you see them leave?" Kiwina demands of the barkeep.

Considering that the bartender just indicated he expected Aaroth and Cecil to be in the room, he ought to be surprised they are not. However, unless the barkeep denies seeing them go, Kiwina follows up with, "What are you trying to pull, here?" (Not very intimidating with a 12.)

Wait, Cecil is trying to get his boat back? we saw the remains of the ship, apparently it was enchanted to hold together, and without the captain there the magic failed. I wonder if Cecil even knows that his ship is currently being scattered by the tides... if he doesn't know that, but thinks he is trying to earn his ship back maybe he is here by his own will to try to win an unwinable gamble....

Falco's eyes refocus and he blinks three times, coming back to himself. He spins his head slowly all the way around looking for trap or secret doors. {Perception: 14} He does not feel as sharp as he normally does and his eyes rest on Abugs.

"Angus... right? Sorry I think I was lost in thoughts for a moment. As Elyas says the boat is enchanted to Cecil, or vice versa. If they are apart the boat goes to pieces and I am hoping the captain does not as well. Oh, did anyone tell you? Captain Cecil was instrumental, vital really, in us winning the Taurnment. We owe him loyalty."

He pauses to consider what to do with the 'demon' when they find it. Could it be a doomed game? No matter really. I am not sure what the warper-sar would have of me. Killing the demon is another type of change is it not? That is my preference. he mumbles to himself but lout enough for Angus to hear. "Yes, the demon shall die most likely."

Rolth Niheow looks around the back room, looking over it with magical senses, but finds nothing, and cannot make head nor tail of the scroll, then queries about Cecil and Aaroth
Kiwina interrogates the barkeep, then helps bring Angus up to speed.
Falco Ambersier comes back to himself, noticing Angus for the first time.
Angus Macgrump asks if anyone else can see a way out of the back room, then answers Rolth. He then ingratiates himself with Tsak.

The barkeep shakes his head.

“Nah, I didn’t see ‘em leave. Some of the patrons may have done though, I don’t always see everyone leave, but I took some drinks in there, mebbe fiftee’ minutes ago. Can’t be that long ago they left.”

Investigating the room shows nothing but a small window in one wall, it is lit entirely by lamps.

When discussing with the patrons, they mention that the “octopus headed man” sometimes uses the back room for his “special games” where people gamble more important things.

One of the other patrons speaks up, you quickly notice he has only a few betting tokens left, and is apparently not doing quite so well.

“I hear’ where they said they was goin’ next.” he smiles at you. “Bu’ as you can see…” he indicates his lack of tokens. “...my funds are a lil low a’ the moment. Mayhaps you can see to fixin’ that for me?”

He's not inclined to believe the drunk patron has any idea what is has happened to the group in the back room, but Rolth's clever talking should see him put up or shut up.

Angus also understands Orc, but figures Tsak has that covered. Angus was startled to hear about a magic ship that falls apart when the captain is away from it. The part of his mind from his former life wonders how much he could gold he could get from Cecil in exchange for a barrel of nails.

Angus dismisses that thought quickly, the way these people speak so casually about magic makes him wary of even considering any of his usual shenanigans.

He looks a bit unsure, but after a moment speaks again.

“Whatever ya do, don’t get into a game with the Octopus man… he’s known for takin’ folks for more ‘en they’re worth…”

He then waits a little expectantly. Once you pay him some more (or not) the barkeep gives you quick directions to the Violet Bar, and you continue on your way. It’s at the far end of town. Upon arriving, the first thing you notice is that several of the patrons are quite drunk, and that there is a large picture over the bar of the Purple Duke. It’s quite raucous in here and you can feel the room is just like a powder keg waiting for a spark to set it off.

Rolth quickly checks the sign over the door to make sure that we didn't actually wander into the Violent Bar by mistake. Satisfied that we are in the right place, he slides his lute around to playing position and strikes a lovely chord. He subtley waves his menacing colleages to back down, and tries to play a fascinating tune. (The fellow needs to make DC 13 Will save or sit there and listen to Rolth play)

The Demon Went Down to Imod City

The demon went down to Imod City
He was lookin' for a ship to steal
He was in a bind
'Cause we were close behind
And he was willin' to make a deal

When he came upon this young taur
Strummin' on a lute and playin' it hot
And the demon jumped
Into the back room
And said, "boy, let me tell you what

I guess you didn't know it
But I'm a fancy lute player too
And if you'd care to take a dare, I'll make a bet with you
Now you play a pretty good lute, boy
But give a demon his due
I'll bet a the Herald whole
Against your soul
'Cause I think I'm better than you"

The boy said, "my name's Rolth Niheow
And it might be a sin
But I'll take your bet
And you're gonna regret
'Cause I'm the best there's ever been"

Niheow, tune up your lute and strum the catgut hard
'Cause hell's broke loose in Imod City, and the demon deals the cards
And if you win, you get this ship that elementals hold
But if you lose, the demon gets your soul

The devil opened up his case
And he said, "I'll start this show"
And fire flew from his fingertips
As he struck a chord down low
Then he pulled his claws across the strings
And it made an evil hiss
And a band of demons joined in
And it sounded something like this

{insert cacaphony}

When the demon finished
Niheow said, "well, you're pretty good, old son
But sit down in that chair right there
And let me show you how it's done"

He played Hell Hounds on the Trail, run boys, run
The demon's in the House of the Violet ones
Halfling in back room pickin' up dough
Beat the Eight Petaled Rose? No demon, no

The demon bowed his head
Because he knew that he'd been beat
And he laid that golden instrument
On the ground at ol' Rolth's feet

Niheow said, "Aaroth, don't come back
If you ever want to try again
I done proven it once you son of a bow
I'm the best that's ever been"

While Rolth tries a more peaceful ploy, Kiwina wonders what it is about gambling that has attracted so many humans to minotaur island. And why they're all drunk. Once the song is well underway, he wanders furthef into the place but does not try to approach the door being guarded by the angry man.

Oh ho, something must be going on here Angus thinks as he approaches the door to the back room.

"Hey Pal, we are going to have to have you open this door, RIGHT NOW. We are looking for a lost cat after all. You don't want my cousin to get angry, you wouldn't like him when he's angry..." Angus gives the man blocking Elyas a feral grin.

He's hopeful that the real Esmerelda, sitting outside, won't come running when he calls her name. Of course she never has before, so why would she start now...

Elyas pretends to be innocent, but no-one’s buying it.

Falco Ambersier tries to reason with the drunks, attempting to impress upon them how foolish it would be to fight.
Angus Macgrump attempts to intimidate the drunks into kowtowing.

The men who all appear to have been spoiling for a fight suddenly calm down and listen to Rolth play his music.

The rest of you spread out, and they no longer stop you getting to the door, upon opening it you are greeted by Cecil, who is bound and gagged to a chair, and Aaroth who is playing a game with several other people, mostly Taur, around a table, it’s not a game you can immediately recognise.

Rolth Niheow takes off Cecil’s gag.
Kiwina begins to make demands of Aaroth.
Falco Ambersier casts a spell to protect himself.
Angus Macgrump attempts to remain hidden from Aaroth

Aaroth just watches as Rolth takes of Cecil’s gag, Cecil looks a little worried, but Aaroth doesn’t do anything to stop you.

He simply watches, and Cecil speaks up.

“Hey! Thank Domi you found me…” he takes a deep breath, and then indicates Aaroth “He’s got my boat!!”

Aaroth holds his hand up at that.

“Correction, I WON his boat. Until I get it, paid in full, Cecil stays with me. Those were the terms of our little arrangement young Taur.”

He turns to the Petals.

“But look, we have new guests, please what can I do for you?"

Falco shifts from one foot to the other keeping his bow at the ready. He is uncomfortable that Aaroth sounds reasonable.

"Relax my friends, clearly Aaroth does not understand the full situation, he just thinks he won a boat."

He pauses and steps closer to the demon.

"Not only is this man important to us Petals for the help he gave in the Taurnment but he is also one we would call friend. His boat is enchanted and without him on-board it it falls apart. You have won nothing unless you plan to keep him as a slave." he steps closer still holding his bow. "If that is your intention you will find yourself set against us blade and claw."

His voices loses any emotion and this last part is said very matter of fact.

"You made a bad bet and accepted a wager that is worthless to you. Cut your losses and trouble this man, and us, no more."

He some how manages to give you a look that implies he’s raising an eyebrow.

“It didn’t specify the condition of the boat. Why do you ask?”

At this point Cecil speaks up.

“Aaroth, please, let me speak with these fellows privately, perhaps we can come to some sort of arrangement that will fix this for you?”

Aaroth frowns, but after a moment waves a hand showing he acquiesces, he gets up and unties Cecil.

“Now Cecil you will have to come back in here, don’t make me track you down again.”

“Don’t worry. He won’t leave without either me or the Herald

He smiles sadly and then slightly embarrassedly.

“Sooo… I may have made a pretty big mistake here… see I heard Aaroth was doing a big game with high wagers, and I figured I could beat him!”

He pauses, looking a little ashamed.

“So I bet the Herald... but Aaroth was too good, he beat me and took my ship. One of his rules is you stay with him until you pay him… or work the debt off. I tried to escape, so he had me bound and dragged around with him... “

He looks a little upset.

“If you get the town guard, they’ll side with him, because what he’s done is within the law according to the rules he laid down when we started gambling… so now I either have to give him the Herald or work off a debt to the value of the Herald and that could take the rest of my life!!”

“I know Aaroth would play against you, one of you could take my place at the table… but I guess if you can’t help I’ll have to figure some other way out of this…”

Finnian smiles at Falco's suggestion. "Now that would be a contest that you and I would do fine in. I haven't heard of this pudding game but I might fancy a hand or two. Though if you are wagering entire ships then it may be too rich for my blood. Finnian contemplates his options and how best he could aid the party.

"What did Aaroth wager against the Herald? And how can we even the odds against the cheater? Maybe if more than one of us plays? Maybe someone could detect magic to make sure he isn’t using magic to cheat. Others could watch him closely. If he cheats, then his stake is forfeit, right? And what can we wager against the Herald? No way are we putting up the Rose."

Kiwina is getting exasperated. "Of course we understand! But we've also seen the shape the Herald is in! If we managed to win, will you actually have your ship back or just a figurehead?"

Kiwina is not himself willing to enter a card game with Aaroth. He still thinks that Aaroth won the wreckage that used to be the Herald.

"Last we saw of the Herald was the skeleton of a ship in the water next to the Outsider, being sneered at by the crew of that black monstrosity."

I understand that you want your own ship but, trust us, the Herald may not be your best option here. We aren't professional gamblers. We are adventurers however, and we are all willing to work with you to get a new ship. Work with us and be free or be dragged around in chains by this creature, it's up to you. You may have to give the Herald up so that you can get something so much better!

Exhausted by the words pouring out of him like water Tsak slumps down at the nearest table and waits for Cecil to make his decision.

Falco agrees with Finnian and continues speaking.

"Oh playing cards is a skill, no doubt. I just thought you were a real gambler who would wager on many things not someone who only played when you are the expert. I see, a game of physical skill is too much for you. Its ok to not to want to bother with someone of my stature, I get it."

{Diplomacy: 24 - trying to goad him into a bad decision.}

"We can start small. How about best of three arrows for 10 gold? I don't want to take advantage of you."

I'm sorry Cecil, I don't see any reason why we should go up against Aaroth. I'm pretty sure that's what he wants. get us to bet something big, take that from us and convince us to double down. you can never win this sort of game. the herald is lost. face it. it is either a pile of flotsam, or it belongs to a demon now. you were very kind to this crew, and we want to help, but this isn't really going to help you. we would happily take you on our crew, or even help find another ship for you in the future. but there is no way we're going up against a demon with our ship on the line.

The Game is Afoot... Part IV (DM Dan)

Tsak Rezar almost gives up, still trying to convince Cecil to give up his beloved ship.
Finnian potentially volunteers as tribute.
Elyas fails to see the wisdom in continuing to fight for broken pieces of wood.
Rolth Niheow questions more to explore all the options.
Kiwina again makes mention of how damaged the Herald is and how it may not be worth fighting for.
Falco Ambersier attempts to goad Aaroth into doing something foolish.
Angus Macgrump continues to prepare for something to happen.

Aaroth chuckles at Falco’s response.

“So you want me to trade a game that I’m good at, for one you’re good at? How is that smart?”

He laughs a little louder.

“But alright, I’ll indulge you Birdman.”

He gets up and draws a few concentric circles on a piece of parchment, then pushes a small nail through it into the wooden wall.

“Go ahead, take your shot. Show me how it’s done.”

((OoC: If you wish to fire, make an attack roll. Higher score means more central))

---

Cecil shakes his head.

“I can repair the Herald, don’t worry about that.” He sighs. “Look, he’s a demon thing, he’ll probably want a favour out of you, or to take you as a servant, or worse slave. That he would wager against the Herald...” He pauses, as if unsure how to continue. “Or you could just fight him for my freedom, but that wouldn’t go down well with the guard…”

How do you choose to try and free Cecil?

Angus continues to watch as Aaroth challenges Falco. Aaroth's gleeful acceptance of the challenge causes Angus to consider the following:

"Whatever means he uses to cheat at cards, must also be useful here or he would not be so confident. I may not know magic, but I know about misdirection and allowing your mark to see what you wish them to see. Aaroth must either have means to influence his mark's performance or get his mark to believe he has lost somehow. How can I let the fiesty bird-man (I have really got to learn their names) know he is being scammed?

What do you guys think? I firmly believe it would be foolish to enter into any betting match with this demon. But I think I have made my position clear. should we vote on a course of action? Or leave it to Captain Kiwina to decide for us?

"Hey fellows, we will play the only game that we can win, namely, the one that Aaroth does not know he is playing. He assumes the guards will back him because he won the Herald and Cecil's obedience was part of the deal. What he does not know is that we have explicit direction from the local Lord and from the Purple Duke himself. The former told us to gather information and report it to him. The latter directed us to capture Aaroth. So I propose this: We send a message to Lord Marcus, telling him the location of Aaroth and requesting that he send the guards to assist in Aaroth's detentiion, per the orders of the Purple Duke himself. Our job is merely to make sure that Aaroth remains here until the Lord and his men can arrive. That should not be too hard, we can play the fool, ask to be taught the game at hand, and so forth. What think you?"
