Atlas considers the idea of climbing the hedge, which would be tough, considering it is essentially a row of giant bushes, and the outer branches would barely support Wiz-Bang. He does suggest 'Osul fly up for a look see, and asks if anyone had the ability to ask the hedge to move for them. Wiz-Bang answers, ["I can talk to hedge, but I think hedge no move".
Owen suggests teleporting in after he does an invisible flyby, he asks Wiz-Bang to describe the area around the fortress. Wiz-Bang answers, "Wiz-Bang not certain, Otaktay maybe change things, but the hedge thick, with small area between hedge and strong place".
Armand looks for a tree to use as a look out, and easily finds a suitable tree, it's a lovely pecan tree, (no nuts sadly) with low branches, that are nicely spaced for climbing. He says he'll cast bless as soon as needed, and asks if they are knocking on the door or if knocking heads, and figures they should be knocking heads.
Elyngael searches for foot prints, and finds a lot of them, too many to count in fact, but the ground is so hard packed from all the foot traffic, it's impossible to make heads or tails of them all.
'Osul turns into a humming bird and flies up over the hedge for a look see. He sees that the hedge wall is about 30ft thick with a 5ft gap between the hedge and the stone fortress. He also notices that, in the center of the hedge, there is an area where the hedge is is only about 15ft thick. This area leads directly to the fortress entrance which is protected by a portcullis and a gate which are roughly 40ft apart, with what appear to be murder holes on either side, the murder holes don't appear to be manned at the moment. Sitting on the ground, in the little courtyard created by the narrow area in the hedge wall are two awakened baboon guards, they are playing a dice game to pass the time.

'Osul shares what he learned while in humming bird form. Here's what 'Osuls sketched in the dirt'Osul's sketch
Surprisingly Atlas is still keen on the less direct more stealthy mode of entrance.
Elyngael changes her cloak, and has Khan do some sniffing, however there are way to many scents for the poor cat to be able to make any conclusions, and he just kinda sniffs around in a confused sort of way, not able to zero in on any target.
Armand knows the apes come and go through here, so he looks for a secret underground entrance, but whether because he simply can't seem to find it, or because it isn't there, he comes up with nothing. He can't understand why apes would have a stronghold built on the ground.
Neshi reminds Armand that a human Druid used live here, and that as sentient beings, no one knows what to expect from awakened critters. He also doubles down on his suggestion to burn their way in.
Owen thinks the hedge is magical and wonders if fire would have any effect, then to test his hypothesis, he casts detect magic on the hedge. The spell reveals that the vast majority of the hedge is mundane, however the narrower portion in front of the main entrance gives off a magical aura from the illusion school.

I'm really bad at that, but I'll try if that's what the group decides. I just worry that at the main gate we're going to have a bunch of animals that can attack us. Going into a bedroom or some other room with no guards is going to get us further from the guards and closer to our destination." Atlas looks up to see if there are any windows that Owen could look in and teleport us to. If he sees one he points it out.

DM Jeremy "Welcome to the Jungle" d20=17 ; d4=3 ; d20=17 ; Wednesday April 10th, 2019 6:05:48 AM
Owen has second thoughts on the disguise idea fearing that if their cover is blown they would be caught between the portcullis and the main gate with arrows raining down on them from the murder holes that appear to be custom made for a small sized creature, giving them cover and concealment. He than suggests a different teleport idea.
Atlas likes the new idea better than the bluff idea, but would rather bypass the main gate all together, and points out the two windows, one centered on the left side, between the main gate and the left side of the fortress, and the other on the right side, centered between the main gate and the right side of the fortress. Neither window is very large, maybe 2 1/2ft tall by 1 1/2ft wide, and they are protected by iron bars, but they could offer a glimpse into the inside of the building.
Armand suggest a different method involving him going invisible, air walking, and having everyone else hide in his bag of holding. He wisely suggests making a decision soon before they are spotted, forcing them to retreat, or fight their way in.
Neshi cast stoneskin and mage armor on Atlas, and makes it clear that he really likes Atlases suggestion.
Elyngael agrees that a decision needs to be made quickly, and thinks if they can all fit in the bag of holding, that would be an interesting approach.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Since Owen can see through the illusion, (I'm assuming he's keeping an I on the guards) he notices one of the guards looking up quickly, as though he heard something, he turns his head this way and that but doesn't notices anything out of the norm, so he goes back to his dice game.
Though I think it's a clever idea, logistically it wouldn't work, as Neshi by himself weighs over 600lbs that coupled with the combined weight of everyone else including their gear, would exceed even a type 4 Bag of Holding's weight limit. 'Osul is a little bummed that the Bag of Holding plan won't work, but one would presume he would be fine with another plan of action.
Atlas asks Owen to check out the two windows for a teleportation arrival location, and mentions that time is of the essence.
Armand agrees that the teleportation is probably the wisest route, but is glad with a backup plan.
Owen is very sneaky, as he checks out the windows. (to help move things along, I'll assume you checked out both windows) The guards appear to have missed their perception checks, as they give no indication of anything out of the ordinary. In the left window, Owen sees what appears to be a mess hall furnished with tables built for both large and medium sized creatures, as well as stools for small creatures. The room is currently occupied by 3 baboons, an Orangutan, and 2 dire apes, who all seem to be dinning on some kind of soup. Through the window on the right, he sees what appears to be some kind of barracks with different sized bunk beds built to accommodate small, medium, and large creatures. There are currently 4 baboons and 2 orangutans. The orangutans and 2 of the baboons seem to be sleeping, but the other 2 baboons seem to be deep in conversation. Of course the glass keeps you from hearing what is being said, but they seem to be enjoying themselves.

'Osul reminds everyone that they aren't a bunch of murder hobos, and they should have the appropriate spells and equipment ready.
Elyngael cast barkskin on herself and Khan.
Atlas is ready to go!
Neshi teleports the remaining members , and casts web on the sleeping orangutans. since you didn't see the layout of the barracks and the location of the sleepers I'm assuming you would try to web the orangutans, since as casters they are probably the greater threat. if you would prefer to web the sleeping baboons that's fine
Owen an Neshi cast teleport and the Wardens find themselves in the barracks of Otaktay's primate army. As Owen had described, there are two sleeping baboons and two sleeping orangutans, as well as two awake baboons. The door to the barracks is closed. When the Wardens arrive, the chatting baboons try to give out a cry for help, but due to Armand's stone of silence, the sound is negated before it even leaves their mouths. In their shock, the baboons only have time to draw their daggers (2 each) before the Wardens are upon them. Neshi drops a web on the helpless orangutans, sticking them to their beds. The effect of being grappled by the web spell wakes the orangutans from their slumber. Both orangutans try to shout a warning, and while orangutan 2 is stuck in the 20ft radius of the stone of silence, orangutan 1 is not, and he gives out a warning. which in turn awakens baboon 4 leaving him flat footed. while baboon 3 remains asleep. The Wardens have the surprise round, so please post your surprise round action, and your round 1 action. Since Neshi already cast web, I'm going to call that his surprise round action, but he still gets a round one action.

Armand casts a searing light spell at the nearest orangutan but his shot goes wide. He prepares himself to attack the other if it starts to anything 'attacky'.
Atlas gets a small boost of strength. Not as much was hoped as his Belt of Physical Might already gives a +2 enhancement bonus. The net result is an extra +2. With that in mind only two of his attacks hit.
Owen scorches one of the orangutans. His True Strike spell cerainly helping.
Khan goes for the nearby baboon however his claw fails to land.
Elyngael's volley of arrows (including last rounds now) is enough to drop one of the baboons. The other is still very much alive.
Neshi follows Owen's lead with some scorching rays. He has less success with only one striking its target.
Osul gives Khan a little buff causing him to grow in size!
The enemy act...
Baboon 1 can see things are looking bad for him, so moves away from both Atlas and Khan (provoking AoOs). It moves towards sleeping baboon 4 and slaps it awake!
Baboon 2 is probably fronting Gargul right about now

Baboon 3 - now conscious - stands up and heads towards the door. Is he trying to flee or trying to get around to Atlas?

Orangutan 1 casts a neatly placed fireball right in the center of the room. It catches Khan, Osul, Owen, Elyngael and Armand. (All to make Ref Saves vs DC17. Fail=22pts fire damage. Pass=11pts)
Orangutan 2 casts 2 scorching rays at Neshi. The first one misses however the second is quite powerful. (Miss TouchAC16. Hits TouchAC28. Nat20. Elyngael and Khan turn their attention on the spellcasters. They work together to try and take one out of action. Khan succeeds on tripping it but for the time being it still breathes.
Owen assists with some magic missiles. It is proving to be quite resilient.

Atlas gave the handle of the door a good blow and believes the door to be jammed (OOC: Make a Disable Device check. We'll call anything DC10 or over a success. The higher the better). He refocuses on the injured baboon intent on putting it out of its misery.

Osul's centipede comes onto the scene but that's about it. It's attacks are just too weak to make contact. Osul's storm burst has it's desired effect though.
Armand casts a blindness spell on the orangutan. It fails its save miserably and iis now completely blind.
Owen's magic missile is enough to drop the other orangutan. It isn't dead yet but is bleeding out. You guess it has 1 round, maybe 2.
Khan shrugs off the confusion spell and readies himself to deliver some payback, however it looks like Owen beat him to it. Assuming Khan is happy to take one more step south he is able to strike at the other orangutan who is flailing about blind. Khan only gets to make one of his attacks but it is a good one.
Neshi sends some electricity at the orangutan and hits it with full force.
The enemy act
Orangutan 2 tries to defensively cast a Displacement spell but is quite distracted and unable to concentrate. Khan gets to make an AoO. If Khan hits the spell is wasted!
Since the daggers aren't doing much, the baboons 3 and 4 try to grapple him. Baboon 3 succeeds! Atlas is grappled!
Baboon 1 tries to pick up the silenced stone
All 3 provoke AoOs to those in reach of them.
Things look to be going much better for the party!

Atlas attacks the Baboon that is hurt the most, swinging his sword and pushing forward with his spiked shield. He manages to harm the creature enough to put him down. Turning, he swings at the other, but slips a little on the bloody floor and misses it.

Atlas re-focuses and takes the opening when the baboon tries to grapple him, opening a large wound that the baboon will have to deal with. However, it doesn't seem to deter him and Atlas is quickly grappled. Taking a moment to consider his options, he decides to ignore it and lash out at the creature in an unorthodox way with his sword, shield, and sword again. It is awkward and it shows, as he is unable to land a single blow.

Baboon 4 finds itself a primary target. Under the onslaught of Armand, Elyngael, and the giant Scorpion it is overwhelmed and dispatched.
Against the entire party baboon 3 won't last another round, so we fast forward 10seconds and the party stand amidst ape corpses.
It looks like you have a chance to breathe and to take stock of supplies, remaining spells, and injuries. It won't last long though. There is banging on the door and you can only presume it is some more apes trying to gain entry.
Will any preparations be made? You have no idea how long the door will last.

The plans are wrapped up. Everyone knows what needs to be done. It's just the 'doing' the things that seem to be the sticking point...
OOC: Ok, sounds like we're ready. Please position yourself on the map. It's the same map as last time. We're in combat rounds so please post your actions. If you're going to cast a spell, ready an attack, going to do anything, please make all of your rolls.
Owen: The orangutan you want to cast the spell on is still at Z31. To get line of sight from the ceiling through both of the murderholes to an orangutan on the ground, well... place yourself on row 31 and we'll say it can be done. As the only one to note an action I'll leave it with you to decide if you want to stay with this one or change action

Neshi readies himself for the apes to enter the room. Once they do a Cone of Cold is coming right their way.
Atlas shouts out a warning for people to stay clear else they get frozen themselves. He prepares himself to attack anything that gets close (Highlight to display spoiler: {You can only ready one action: standard (attack) or free (5ft step). I'm going to assume attack in this case})
Armand gets closer to the injured to channel some spiritual healing. Neshi, Owen and Armand all benefit from it.
Elyngael and Khan step back to get in a better position. Elyngael nocks an arrow in anticipation.
Owen goes invisible and casts a Feeblemind at the orangutan across the way. You can see it start to drool a little as the spell takes hold
Unfortunately despite the warnings, Osul, the scorpion, and Owen are all in the line of effect for the cone of cold.
With one final heave the door breaks off its hinges. The apes don't pour into the room as the party may have expected however, as they are met face-to-face with the scorpion and proceed no further.
Neshi's arrow go wide and Neshi holds off on the cone of cold (Highlight to display spoiler: {If you wish for the spell to have gone off I can apply the damage to the enemy, however Osul, Scorpion and Owen would also need to save. I don't want to force you either way. Completely your call})
Having broken down the door, not being able to take another standard action, and not being able to push any further into the room, the apes are kept at bay this round.
The orangutan sticks its finger in its nose and rummages around in there.

Osul (posted by Kent seeing as Graham seems to be awol for a bit) d8=7 ; Thursday April 25th, 2019 9:22:24 PM
(ooc: has anyone heard from Graham in the past couple of days?)
Moving quickly Osul moves out of the way and then casts spike stones through the door way just outside of the room to impede the other Apes inward movement.
Spike stones impede progress through an area and deal damage. Any creature moving on foot into or through the spells area moves at half speed. In addition, each creature moving through the area takes 7 points of piercing damage for each 5 feet of movement through the spiked area.
Any creature that takes damage from this spell must also succeed on a Reflex save DC 21to avoid injuries to its feet and legs. A failed save causes the creatures speed to be reduced to half normal for 24 hours or until the injured creature receives a cure spell (which also restores lost hit points).

Atlas rushes to the door to plug the gap before they can all charge the room. Once there he looks over the dire ape with a bit of apprehension, but swings at him anyway. The attack is pathetic, bouncing off the door frame and stinging his arm, but at least he's still in the doorway trying to block entry.

I really have been keeping track, I swear! Also, this turn is really complicated, and I'm sorry about that. There's a summary at the end.
IC: Hearing Atlas' warning, Owen decides to get out of the way of Neshi's Cone of Cold. Maintaining his Invisibility Field, he calls on the power of his bonded ring to defensively cast Teleport. Just as he finishes intoning the last words of the spell, he hears Armand's complaint about disappearing wizards. He smiles as his location shifts to X31, behind the now-dimwitted orangutan: Armand will know where he is in just a moment. He moves to X29 and glances up and down the hallway, wary of enemies.
With heroic force of will, he readies himself to cast Shadow Evocation should any any apes or baboons move or attack next turn. If they do so, his Shadow Evocation mimics a Wall of Fire that passes as far down the length of the hallway as he can see. It stands a foot away from the actual wall (the border between 29 and 30) and faces away from the rest of the party. Owen knows he'll get singed, but he also knows that the wall is illusory.

Turn Summary
Swift Action: Maintain Invisibility Field. Standard Action: Cast Teleport defensively using Bonded Ring. Defensive casting concentration check: 1d20+Caster Level(10)+Int Bonus(6)+Feat(4)+Teucri(2)=33 against DC of 15+2xSpell Level(10)=25. Pass! Teleport check: 84. Pass! Owen safely teleports to X31. (Remember, Owen has already carefully studied both rooms through their windows, and he may be able to see through the murder hole and past the orangutan.) Move Action: Move to X29. Heroic Standard Action: Ready a Shadow Evocation of a Wall of Fire. Condition: if any enemy moves or attacks. (This action is readied to avoid conflicting with Neshi's Cone of Cold.) DC22 Will Save to disbelieve the Wall of Fire, which itself offers no save. The Wall, if it triggers, extends as far down the hallway as possible in both directions, up to 200 feet, covering or passing through Row 29. It faces away from the barracks/entrance/mess. If it triggers: BA2, DA1, and DA2 all take 2d6+10 fire damage, while BA1 takes only 2d6. Owen disbelieves and only takes 20% of 2d6+10. Any creature passing through Row 29 takes a further 2d6+10.

Elyngael fires again but again misses her mark. (Highlight to display spoiler: {Your readied actions triggered last round when the door opened. I said "Neshi's arrow go wide" but meant "Elyngael". Sorry bout that})
Osul moves aside and puts a spike stone spell into the area outside the door
Neshi casts the cone of cold spel. He catches the dire ape, two baboons, and the (Scorpion to make a save. 29 points of cold damage, Reflex DC 24 for 1/2 damage, Spell resistance ). The ape and one of the baboons gets a little cold, the third freezes a lot more.
Atlas moves to plug the door a little. He blocks it, sure, but isn't able to push the apes back at all.
Owen takes a few actions. He puts himself into the other room, keeps up his invisibility and prepares to cast a wall of fire. (Highlight to display spoiler: {Why wouldn't a Shadow Evocation of a Wall of Fire allow a save? Wall of Fire has no save however S.E does. "Spells that deal damage have normal effects unless an affected creature succeeds on a Will save. Each disbelieving creature takes only one-fifth damage from the attack." If they disbelieve I understand that they take only 20% of the damage roll})
The enemy act. They start to move out of the spike stones and Owen's Wall of Fire triggers. The burning begins.
Dire Ape 1 withdraws from the combat. It has to move through 4 lots of Spike Stones and 4 lots of Wall of Fire. Fortunately it recognises the illusion for what it is and calls out to the others not to believe it (Provides +4 bonus to other apes).
Dire Ape 2 screams and the flame burns and tries to bullrush his way into the room. It has to move through 6 lots of Spike Stone and 6 lots of Wall of Fire. Fortunately it recognised the illusion.
Baboon 1 moves out of the flames to take up a position near one of the murder holes. It has to move through 1 lot of Spike Stone and 1 lot of Wall of Fire (which it recognises as an illusion)
Baboon 2 does the same. It has to move through 1 lot of Spike Stone and 1 lot of Wall of Fire. It believes itself to be seriously on fire.
Baboon 3 falls back to the mess hall. It has to move through 1 lot of Wall of Fire, also believing the fire to be real.

Armand blocks one of the murder holes and observes that they have quite a defensible position.
Owen keeps up the stealth and the fiery wall. He isn't ready to let up just yet.
Elyngael plugs one of the Baboons a couple of times and puts it down.
Atlas draws his bow, questioning whether the party should keep shooting off spells or start to hold back. Neshi decides to 'burn' another spell: fireball. A classic. The apes have been waiting for this and shoot arrows. 2 arrows hit, but with Neshi's stoneskin he takes only a scratch (Neshi takes 4pts damage. Stoneskin absorbed 13pts)
Despite a couple making their saves they all fry to a crisp. They are now just piles of burning hair. The smell is bad in the room so you can only imagine how bad it is out there.
The enemy act...
The baboon in the mess hall moves to the doorway and waits for the fire to subside. Despite the number of murder holes between him and the party, he still uses the frame of the door for increased protection.
The orangutan is scratching itself and then very suddenly stops. It looks about the room and moves in the general direction of Owen. It isn't looking directly at him but it is looking for something.

Atlas growls in frustration, "I'm not good at doing nothing." He draws his sword again and yells to Owen, "Owen, let's drop the fire so I can finish those two off."
Before stepping back to the flames he yells once more at the orangutan, "Oh, you woke up! Good, now get ready to meet my sword you flee infested piece of ape dung!"

Neshi winces a bit at being struck nut smiles coldly as his fireball does its work. Ok you all want to go out the door while Osul and I go through the murder holes?
That said Neshi casts elemental body 1 and is suddenly a small fire elemental + 2 dex +2 natural armor fire resistance 20, cold vulnerability and burn ability. Neshi then heads out of the room via the murder hole and end up at ac 34
