Farewell Evett’sPride; hello Dirt City (DM SteveK) Wednesday June 26th, 2019 8:03:36 AM
Wilford is happy the boat stopped spinning, and he feels the recent experiences have made him more powerful, but he’s a bit tired at the moment.
Desdichado hopes there are no more surprises, and asks how long until we get back to Dirt City. Captain vet estimates two more days.
Hmerrin works his way back into the boat, and has to wait ‘til the evening meal to fully dry his armor. He spends a good night having food and wine and listening to awesome stories about himself!
Toston does not know what the blue man was, and comments on his battle abilities.
Sarge helps her companions dry their clothes, and reminds herself sternly that dwarves never get seasick. Even when they're spun around and around and around and around and...Sarge sits down for a moment. (DM: LOL!) …………….
The next two days travel are uneventful. They travel for one day down the Peaseblossom and past the Forest de Blanc to the shore, and another day riding the tides between the forest and the barrier islands until the Evett’s Pride and the Tide wash up to the Dirt City docks. The heroes are home!
As the heroes step off the flatboat, the sun touches the horizon. Soon it will wane to evening and dusk, and the most dangerous time to be about in the City Above. There is just enough time to get to whichever entrance to the City Below or building ‘Above and bar the doors for the night.
Ooc: The initiative is with the heroes…

"I'm happy to check Below before we head back. We should check in at Tombo's before late though, make sure things haven't started burning down just yet." With a stumbled attempt to mask concern at the memory with humor.

"Don't think we can make it back home?" Hmerrin asks.
The answer seems to be 'No', and the lad shrugs. "I'm fine heading Below."
He heads for the nearest gate. "Anyone know a nearby inn down there?"
Desdichado(Ryan) [HP: 93/93; AC:20/10/20 - CMD 23] Wednesday June 26th, 2019 7:32:46 PM
Having never been to Dirt City, but hearing all the bad news about it, Desdichado does his best to look inconspicuous (or at least intimidating: one of the benefits -- even for a paladin -- of being relatively tall, stout, and carrying a huge greataxe) and follows the rest of the party.
Sarge [AC 21; HP 61/61] (Kathy) Wednesday June 26th, 2019 11:34:21 PM
"I don't really know my way around," Sarge says. "I'll follow you guys."

Toston says, "I vote for the halfling quarter below but that is just because I'm small and everything is likely to be more in my size. If you want a place that has lodgings more in the size of you medium folks then we'd probably want to head for another area. Do you guys remember if there were any lodgings near Clover Way? We did help them with that fake ghost thing. I suppose we could always try to get to Three Bit's shop and see if she could recommend a good inn but I'd kind of feel embarassed doing that plus she'd probably overcharge us for the information."
The City Below (DM SteveK) Thursday June 27th, 2019 10:11:44 AM
Wilford has never been a fan of the City Below, but maybe things have changed and they haven't been there in a while. I vote we check it out.
Gaffer is happy to check Below before we head back, but thinks they should check in at Tombo's before late, maybe thinking of the Pool divination...
Hmerrin thinks they can make it back home, but will shrug and is fine heading Below. He heads for the nearest gate, looking for a nearby Inn down there.
Desdichado has never been to Dirt City, but knows many rumors and none of them good. He does his best to look inconspicuous for an armored and armed paladin, and follows the rest of the party.
Sarge "I don't really know my way around," Sarge says.
With the consensus to go to the City Below, and Toston the only recommendation on ‘where’ ‘Below, the Tide takes its leave of the Evett’s Pride, and, with full bags of treasure, heads to the nearest sewer. Sarge and Desdichado may feel their new companions are a little weird as they head down a small cistern and walk down a path next to a running sewage line that goes into the harbor. Yet, there are many others queuing up for the same entrance. Just inside, a guard station manned by a full squad of the Prince’s Guard ensure all weapons are peace-bonded, and the new arrivals (Dez and Sarge) get a run-down on the Rules of the City Below.
One guard explains. “By long-standing tradition, no violence is allowed Below. Weapons carried must be peace-bonded, and no blood can be spilled. Dirt City being what it is, there’s still a certain amount of shoving, jostling, and intimidation that happens ‘Below, despite the ‘no violence’ edict. But everyone Below is safe from serious threats.” On the wall is an etched map of the City Below
Headed into the sewers, Toston is able to find an Inn at the edge of the Halfling and Docks Quarter that is geared towards Small humanoids but also has Medium accommodations. The ‘Well, Come Inn’ is run by the Halfling Bustleburrs, and multi-generations of the family sometimes make it seem there are more servers and help than patrons! Bustleburr conversation is heavy with false sarcasm and snappy comebacks intending to make anyone feel part of the family. And the food and drink are good, a fusion of Halfling and sea-faring cuisine that tends to be salty, but tasty and filling. Beds are negotiated, and the Tide can spend the night.

Wil enters the Below with an increase in anxiety. His head fills with voices, as if they are anticipating the void once he steps through the gate. As soon as he steps forward they all disappear. Cicero and Ivan are silent. He struggles to manage without the distraction. "Umm.. I could use a drink and some rest.. if that will come without the noise in my head."
Hmerrin(HP 109/109 AC:26 T:15 FF:22 CMD:27) Thursday June 27th, 2019 6:51:26 PM
Hmerrin settles in easily at the Well, Come Inn, happily exchanging barbs and back-handed compliments about the place with Bustleburrs, grinning all the while.
"Reminds me of home," he pronounces, not quite out of earshot of the proprietor.
Seeing the hesitation on the faces of Dez and Sarge, the lad tries to ease their anxiety. "So, the bad news is, everything you've heard about Dirt City is probably true."
Hmerrin then pauses to take a nice long drink. And then has some pie.
And then looks up, astonished that the pair are waiting for him to continue.
"Oh, you wanted good news?" He grins. "Well, actually, The Tide are kind of a big deal in most parts, and with eight of us tromping about in steel and sharp objects, we're usually left alone."
Desdichado(Ryan) [HP: 93/93; AC:20/10/20 - CMD 23] Thursday June 27th, 2019 7:22:54 PM
Desdichado looks around to see if anyone is listening in. "So, what do you actually *do* here? Are you - we - supporting one of the houses?"
Sarge [AC 21; HP 61/61] (Kathy) Thursday June 27th, 2019 9:54:05 PM
Unfamiliar with the city, the district, and the inn, Sarge is quiet and withdrawn at first. But the good-natured ribbing soon puts her at ease, and she joins Hmerrin in giving as good as she gets.
"It's nice that you--or I guess we--are left alone," Sarge replies to Hmerrin, "but it'd be good if ordinary people were left alone, too. Which I gather isn't the case."

Toston looks around the common room. (Perception: 30)
If he sees any potentially dodgy characters he waits until after dinner and they are out of the common room to answer Sarge's and Desdichado's concerns.
"We aren't formally supporting any single house, we have worked with / for some of them in the past and we have also upset some of them. Some of us are considered "friends" of the Prince. We have our base of operations and we are technically paying protection money to one of the houses but I honestly want to change that at some point. I want to change things in Dirt City and improve things for the common folk. For too long the houses and criminals have run roughshod over the population while most people are decent folk who just want to be left alone."

Gaffer sits a little uncomfortably in the smaller space, but is glad to be somewhere warm nonetheless.
He leans in to listen as Toston answers Sarge and Des' questions, before adding himself,
"Trying to do good in a dangerous place is always dangerous. Have you had any thoughts on your own situations?"
Desdichado(Ryan) [HP: 93/93; AC:20/10/20 - CMD 23] Friday June 28th, 2019 4:23:26 PM
"My own situation? Well, it feels pretty precarious at the moment. A paladin of Domi is likely to stick out in a place like this - but for all the right reasons, if you take my meaning."
At the “Well, Come Inn” (DM SteveK) Friday June 28th, 2019 4:54:15 PM
Toston looks about and there doesn’t seem to be any shady characters about.
When Hmerrin mentions they are rather well known, a couple Bustleburrs give smiles and nods if agreement. “There’s still side bets going on how long it’ll take before a House or two sees them as a threat instead of an opportunity to exploit. But in the meantime, yah, nice to have around.”
When talk starts on Houses, some patrons up and leave, and the Bustleburrs ensure the Tide get some ‘talking space’. They can continue to talk about the current status of Dirt City and any loose ends the team might have...
Sarge [AC 21; HP 61/61] (Kathy) Saturday June 29th, 2019 12:23:29 AM
Sarge finishes her ale, which really isn't bad, all things considered.
"Hmm....well, this is awkward," she says. "You all, the Tide I guess, you're an established group here. People know you and you have a house and everything. And the High Priest seemed to think that you were important for some reason. So....are you looking for new members? And if so, what's the procedure?"

Eventually we became too noticed to continue working for them so we sort of became a force for good that is more visible. Our group has changed a lot over the years and I think Wil and I are the only ones who have been here from the beginning. Most of the time when we've expanded it was either at the behest of our contact at that organization or we ran into someone while adventuring and they just kind of stuck with us. This is honestly the first time anyone has ever showed up seeking us out but you've more than proven yourselves on this past treasure hunt and I for one would be happy to have you aboard. I would certainly like to know what your high priest foresaw and if it has any resemblance or bearing on the vision the water elemental granted us in the Culverwood"

"Very tough initiation," Hmerrin replies to Sarge.
"You have to go into the Culverwood and fight a Water Weird. Which, of course, is practically imposs....oh, wait...right....well, I guess you're in." The young human grins.
He leans in closer to the table.
"Seriously, the Prince himself invited us for a chat along the exact same lines of 'which House to you favor'. And he seemed to like our answer - which was none of them. The Tide want to help the people of Dirt City, period.
Now, as you may have picked up on, the Houses are powerful, and love to play games, and have involved us before, and will likely involve us again. And, as much as I agree with Toston that someday we should do something about that, we're not strong enough ... yet.
In the meantime, we get stronger, we keep learning, and we do what we can where we can to help.
If that's up your alley, we got a house, and some empty rooms, and a really nice tavern on the first floor. Whaddya say?"

"Obviously, something important is happening here, but there isn't much more to tell about what the High Priest said. Just to "help the Tide" -- we didn't even realize that was you -- or really, what it meant -- until moments before jumping on the boat."
"This town is in trouble, that's obvious enough, and Domi willing I want to do what I can to help those who need it - Houses or no Houses, Princes or no Princes."

Restful Evenings Monday July 1st, 2019 11:31:48 PM
The group has a light hearted conversation among themselves. Sarge and Desdichado bring up officially joining long term and with a few good jests, the longer standing members of The TIde agree and so it is official. There is more than passing interest at what vision or revelation the High Priest of the temple to which Desdichado was with that lead him to point the paladin to the Tide, but that is likely a mystery that will remain such for some time.
The rest of the night can easily now be spent enjoying some good food, a few pints of brew and some lyrics strung together that can pass for music and singing. The Well, Come In, is a fine choice for night and the group rests well and without any sort of incident. Morning comes, though Daylight is artificial and the Tide can enjoy a soft frosted pastry or three and some tea, or more brew and can be on their way to Shale House.
Exiting Below, the group quickly removes the peace tied bonds on their weapons, for on the streets of Dirt City is no place to not have easy access to a weapon. The day is gray, overcast and a rain almost hangs in the air, rather than falling. Coming up in Moontown, the group heads down the narrow streets to Garotte Square, then northwest around the Burn and into South Pack, territory of House Wolf.
The Buttering Ram has a few late patrons and aside from a passerby or two, Shale House is quiet as is the street.

The young man climbs the stairs to the second floor common area, and waves at some doors to the right and left. "Bedrooms. Find one with no stuff in it, and its yours. And one more floor."
Hmerrin keeps going up to the third floor, and starts pointing out rooms "Potions, Weapons, Treasure Room (on the left). Woodshop and Plant room (on the right)."
Make yourself comfy!
Tour over, the fighter retreats back to his room, unloads a bunch of stuff, and then heads down to see if maybe Sunny is up and about.....

Sarge [AC 21; HP 61/61] (Kathy) Tuesday July 2nd, 2019 10:28:49 PM
Following Hmerrin's advice, Sarge finds a vacant bedroom and tosses her pack on the bed. Time to unpack later. For now, she explores Shale House.
Shale House Tuesday July 2nd, 2019 11:55:46 PM
The party arrives at Shale House and enters into the lobby. Hmerrin provides a short tour of the three story establishment. Main floor, 3 businesses of The Buttering Ram, Sunny Sewing and Mazea's Leatherworks. The second floor is the personal quarters of The Tide with 5 available bedrooms, a common room, 2 pantry's and a pair of storage spaces. The third floor has a large receiving room and several other specialized rooms, vault, conservatory, armory and alchemical lab.
Sarge and Dez claim a couple room and others deposit gear in their own.
Hmerrin heads downstairs and locates Sunny. The weaving room is brightly lit with natural light and Hmerrin finds Sunny where he would expect, at a loom almost idly weaving while looking out at the drab day. She notices the young man enter but keeps to her weave.
Toston heads out to locate Nissa and finds her and the others in a small town row down the street. He finds Nissa in rare form as some might say. She beams a smile, but her direct path to you and the fire dancing in her eyes quickly tells Toston that the next few private moments are not going to be particularly enjoyable.
"Fine city you have here. Pull me half way across the continent and leave without so much as you may never see me again and good luck to you. Half the place is destroyed and the other half seems to only rent to kings. There's quite a housing pinch, though I have started on a solution. Not knowing when you might grace my presence again, someone has to actually look after the group. So here we are for now and I'm looking into this City Below as I don't really like to the thought of having to arm everyone all the time. Did you know you live in a vile and ungodly place?" The questions come rapidly and Toston instinctively knows, answers are not in his best interest. Nissa finishes and pours herself a drink a sits down. "Well? Now is the time I need you to talk."
While Toston and Hmerrin go about there day, the rest of The Tide have their day as well. It looks to be a week or two at least before the gods demand your attention

A while later, Desdichado walks downstairs and begins to introduce himself to the proprietors of the various businesses on the first floor.

Toston says to Nissa, "If you recall, it was the marriage arrangement between our parents that had you trek all the way here from Plateau City. It was just bad timing that you happened to arrive while The Tide was on its way out in order to solve the mystery of the map we were gifted. We did some good and it was a profitable venture as we did end up saving a water elemental and were gifted with some loot and a vision of a new threat to Dirt City that we will be investigating so it is likely we won't be going anywhere far from home any time soon."
"With respect to the city itself, it is rebuilding after the brush with the Sargrass but had we not been here this place probably would no longer exist since it would be overrun with grass."
"As for needing to be armed all the time, did not your parents send you with some armed retainers and are you not a trained spellcaster in your own right? I believe your warriors were named were Briden, Xoser, Umpip, Lorissa, Sasys and Janove. 6 gnome warriors and a wizard capable of casting 4th level spells should be more than a match for most things you would encounter in these parts save for running afoul of one of houses. Did you or any of your kinsmen / companions run afoul of any of the local houses in my absence? If not you'll probably be fine. However if you are looking for a place in the city below, there is a halfling quarter so you might be able to find buildings suited to beings of our stature. It's a shame we didn't meet up sooner as the shale house had vacancies in the shops below. I believe a number of the gnomes you brought with you are experts in their fields and could potentially done much with the space but we have tenants that we can't just turn out."

"There's a temple of Alemi in this town?" Sarge asks. "I know about the big temple to Wardd, of course, but I didn't know about others. There a temple to Domi, too? I should drop by."
Dirt City Wednesday July 3rd, 2019 11:31:33 PM
Gaffer heads to the temple of Alemi and asks if anyone wants to go as well. Desdichado takes him up on the offer. Gaffer leads the paladin into Blade City, the area of Dirt City controlled by House Knife. Moving through the streets, others keep their distance, eyes are on you from shadows and a each of you spy a few coming from the rooftops as well. A pair of grubbers step out to ask Desdichado for some aid in the form of coin or food, "Spare a bit can you?" The other steps up to Gaffer with a similar request.
Sarge asks about a Domi Temple, but there is no such place here in the city of thieves. She quickly learns that the 'Temple of Alemi' is nothing more than a rundown set of buildings with a sad little shrine inside of it. More of what might be thought of as a field hospital than anything else. The Temple of Warrd is the only true temple within Dirt City
Toston has a conversation with Nissa, whose simply places her hands on her hips and stares at him as he talks. "Trouble with a House, no. Pick pockets, muggers, unscrupulous merchants thieves and cheats? Yes. Is everyone in this city a cheat and liar? If you must know, it was actually a group from House Knife that i have to thank that 3 of the group are still alive. They took a wrong turn and ended up in some place called Grubbertown while trying to find a market called the Scrum. A group identifying themselves as part of House Knife prevented a permanent detour is my understanding" She holds up a hand to move on. "I agree with your assessment and have begun to inquire in the City Below as that is the best place civilized gnomes such as ourselves, Currently we are jammed in here and there nearby and that arrangement cannot continue. You should speak to the halflings and you should speak to those who have come here for you. They are your responsibility and turning them out in this place will only accomplish providing you with less followers."
Hmerrin and Wil relax as they may, a few days of not almost getting killed or on the road with hard tact and bedrolls is most welcome. At some point Wil decides he needs a shield and heads to procure one. Being part of the city for as long as he has, and perhaps a bit do to the fact he talks to imaginary beings, Wil is given a pretty wide berth.
And so 2 weeks past..... Toston secures a place for his followers in the City Below, specifically the halfling quarter. Negotiation s continue on costs and what the gnomes may do to off set that and what might need to come out of Toston's pocket. Wil gets his shield Gaffer and Desdichado learn how pick pockets work in teams with distraction while a 3rd man does the work. They also help at the Alemi temple, no more than a converted building row as a hospital. Hmerrin and Sarge chill
The city is still rebuilding, will be so for years likely, but life continues as it has, dangerously in the streets of Dirt City

With most of the city rebuilding, his carpentry skills should come in handy, and he offers his services at nearby sites.
Soon he is into a routine - weapons practice in the morning, late breakfast at The Buttering Ram, building whatever for the rest of the day.
Even while working though, the lad rarely lets his guard down. This is Dirt City, after all.
When asked what he can spare, Desdichado responds "Need some help, do you? My friend here and I would be happy to be of service - if you'll come with us for a bit over to the Temple of Alemi, we'll be glad to help provide what we can."

Gaffer offers up a few silver, and nods in agreement when Des mentions the temple. He later grumbles about the pickpocketing experience, more frustrated that he got tricked than any actual money they lost.
Toston takes the time to get to know his fiance cohort and followers better. He meets with the gnomes first to get an idea for the kind of abilities they have.
He meets first with his soon to be brother in law, Cogrim as he seems to be a fairly accomplished sailor with some small skill in fishing and merchantship.
Cogrim informs Toston that he is trying to set up his own business involving ships but right now lacks the capital to actually invest in his own ship so Valros, who is the best fisher, Mylin, who is the best cook, Alston who has the best head for business, Hellin, who is the best at repairing boats, Kasybar who is a decent book keeper, and the workers Orhana and Alni who are not related to the Quintina clan but are decent sailors in their own right have found jobs at the dock.
Toston also learns that the Quintinas had sent further skilled tradesgnomes to the city to help in the preparations for the wedding and learns that his and Nissa's entourage now includes a baker, Hisser, a brewer, Vorpos, a gardener, Ylolys, a butcher, Ortina, and a driver, Iakur, as well as 2 additional warriors Merjin and Tritra.
Toston remembers hearing Nissa's concern regarding the crooks in the city so he takes the time to pen a letter of introduction to Boggs and escorts Cogrim, Valros, Mylin, Alston, Hellin, Kasybar, Orhana, Alni and Iankur as well as the warriors Briden, Xoser, Umpip, Merjin, Lorissa, Sasys, Janove and Tritra to one of the Crescent Moons offices in order to hopefully find a fair arrangement for them to put their skills to use actually practicing their trades as from what Toston remembered while there were heroes associated with the trading company there were also plenty of folks who just did the day to day operations normally associated with a trading company.
For Hisser, Vorpos, Ylolys and Ortina he tries to find suitable work for them either with the halflings in the quarter with which they are taking residence or if that does not work with Tombo's considering their skills are more domestic.
If the Crescent Moons assigns his soon to be seafaring kin to a ship he takes the time to inspect it himself and even join with them on the short shakedown cruise just to make sure that everything is shipshape.

(OOC: Perception: 23) Will walks with some of the others to the temple. "As a new cleric of Alemi, I declare we need to repair this temple and make it a proper house of worship. I'm sure we can find some in the city to help." Wil observes that most avoid him and begins to wonder if his willingness to speak to the others openly is perhaps causing others to wonder if he is dangerous or crazy. "I'm a charming guy, are I not?" He asks anyone nearby.

Work in Dirt City is not easily found, at least above manual labor, but it can be done. Being paid fairly or at all can be a bit of a trick as well. Toston goes through one of the lesser offices of the CMTC and provides a letter and introduction. A few days later, he receives word that over the next few months, the CMTC can move those wished to positions of use and safety, in relative Dirt City terms.
Wil finds the temple manned by about a dozen followers of Alemi with 3 of them having actual training and capable of divine magic in Alemi's name. To the thought of enhancing the temple, none of them wish to bring the scrutiny of the Houses or Prince or of Warrd for that matter. In the rebuild of the city, the Shrine is overlooked right now, a place where any can come for care. Which is what we feel called by Alemi to do.
Sarge finds talk of Domi to bring immediate apprehension and distrust from most. Those who do not move away quickly, caution the dwarf on dangerous talk. You are in a city that is not run on honor. This is a city of thieves and smugglers and those who do not find it too untolerable to work along side them in those interests. Warrd, god of testing, the mirthless laughing trickster rules here, god of luck. He is not a tolerant deity and nor are those who follow him closely.
Gaffer and Dez find a they are short a few coins, neither grubber has heard of Alemi nor have interest in going with you anywhere. Gaffer later berates himself for falling so easily, but at least the lessen was not learned in the evening hours where the same rouses turn far more violent

Desdichado spends his time near the house, getting to know neighbors and trying to strike up some friendships, or at least acquaintances, with people nearby. He goes around and introduces himself - trying to be wary and avoid outright saying he's a paladin, but also trying to be friendly and see how he can be of assistance to them.

Toston gets his Woldian League of Adventurers training in deciding to learn more about Knowledge of all things arcane. (OOC: Knowledge: Arcana is getting the bonus)
He also spends more time with Nissa and the rest of his followers. He takes a stroll around the City Below with his fiance talking to her about his hopes for the future of Dirt City. He also tells her about his adventures and asks her questions about her arcane studies. He asks Nissa to make him a scroll of fireball and 2 scrolls of haste.
He also takes the time to get to know his future inlaws. He tries to fish off the docks with his future inlaws Cogrim, Valros, Alston, Hellin and the 2 professional sailors he isn't going to be related to in the future through marriage Ohana and Alni.
He talks to Kasybar about his knowledge of being a clerk and asks if he would be so kind as to work with Nissa to keep an accounting of the expenses.
He visits Mylin in the kitchen and asks her about the kind of cuisine she knows how to make and if she would like him to find her any sort of recipes or spices next time he is out of Dirt City.
He spars with the warriors Briden, Xoser Umpip, Merjin, Lorissa, Sasys, Janove and Tritra.
He asks Hisser to bake him some cupcakes to share with Tide and his followers. Talking with the baker while he makes the confections. He asks Vorpos to make an ale and takes a ride with Iankur driving a small carriage. He asks Ortina about the finer points of being a butcher and if through her experience with animal anatomy might have found any particular insights. He asks Ylolys about gardening considering he was never really one for it.

Hmerrin and Des stick relatively close to home. Des becomes more familiar with those in the area and they to him as well. It helps that he is associated with The Tide, but Des makes some pretty good headway toward a neutral bearing with most over those couple of weeks.
Sarge does not push Domi in the streets and Wil does not push Alemi at the shrine
Toston spends the time with his people, making as much room in his schedule as he can for personal time with each of them. Most of the first conversations start with , "This isn't like Plateau City, by any stretch..." The CMTC is making some progress and things are coming along and look to fall into place in due course. As long as no one sticks their neck out, no one should have it cut off. Toston also returns to the WLA. Tucked into the middle of a town row in an unremarkable area of the city. If you did not know where you were going or what you would find when you got there, the chances of finding the WLA in Dirt City is practically nothing.
Inside are a few new faces and a pair of familiar ones. One belongs to the half elf Lyntin Greenshoot and the other to a dwarf, Korgin Gemshaper. Lyntinis reading himself in front of a small fire and Korgin is sitting at a small table working on some sort of metal puzzle. Toston locates a few tomes and settles in
Days and evenings pass, and the Buttering Ram is full of stories. A Glazer shop was ransacked, the shop keeper missing. Might have missed a payment, or perhaps the competition was tired of competing. Happens frequent enough to illicit shrugs from most.

Toston greets Lyntin Greenshot and Korgin Gemshaper and asks them about what they've been up to. He tells them about their latest adventure in following the treasure map and helping the water elemental.
He remembers the vision the water elemental shared and the "golden eyes" mentioned in their quest previous to that where those associates of some of the houses seemed to be compelled to steal from the houses and wonders if the vison could be related to the golden eyed person.
He asks Korgin or Lyntin if they've heard any rumours of a Golden Eyes.
(OOC: Ryan, you might want to hold off on that request as with the armor, your share of the loot is only a little over 300 gold; unless someone can spot you the gold)

Wil, finding the extended time off a bit unsettling summons a wolf within Shale House and attempts a conversation.. all the while Cicero attempts to make it clear that he and Ivan do not appear as summoned creatures. "That is not possible. I am speaking to you Cicero. You are always so vicious.. ie I summoned a wolf." "You are not speaking to me," Cicero spat back. "This is a wolf and dangerous. I am not able to manifest as anything. Are you crazy? Do you even know what you're doing? I really wonder about your sanity." "Am I crazy," Wil continues talking to the wolf. "I don't know. I talk to myself. Most would consider me crazy. This entire town considers me crazy." "If the shoe fits," Ivan adds. "What shoes? You don't have shoes on." Wil attempts to summon another creature but Cicero stops him. "What are you going to do with this wolf? You will have to kill it or wait till it disappears. That doesn't even cover any trouble you start with the others in the house."

You Remember Dirt City right? Tuesday July 9th, 2019 10:47:16 PM
Dez steps out during the day and Hmerrin accompanies him on some of those excursions. Day is good, but night in Dirt City is not. First and foremost, the curfew is still in affect, following that, those that do break curfew are not to be underestimated. The walks about the neighborhood provide any ample opportunities to simply be seen and as known warriors, the run of the mill ruffians are not making trouble within bow shot.
Wil spends a few days summoning creatures on the upper floors of Shale House and talking to them. Though the creatures do not respond in any real way, it makes the cleric seem a bit less nuts? Talking to animals instead of nothing?
Several heroes make their way to the Catacombs
Toston strikes up conversation. Lyntin sighs a bit at the interruption, but is polite enough to apologize. Golden Eyes holds no meaning for him. He is headed to Blackbird Lake in the morning, along with one of the others he recently met. Korgin also does not have thoughts to Golden Eyes. Both are quite interested in Toston's adventure and more than once offer congratulations to him and The Tide. Perhaps if Toston is still about, Lyntin will have a good tale when he returns in about 6 months.
Upon arriving home, Totston receives some good news, his followers are showing remarkable adaptability and the CMTC reports that their combined efforts and skills will cover any costs they might normally incur.
Desdichado keeps a lookout as he continues his patrols around the area.

You Remember Dirt City right? -DM Dan K Wednesday July 10th, 2019 11:36:52 AM Post for Sarge
Sarge is pointed the way, a small shop in Blade City near Spider Park. The shop sits 2 doors in on a townhouse row, 2 story building with a pitched slate roof. Like most townhouse rows, the second floor sits slightly further out above the street than the first, providing some protection from rain, but also adding shadow to the narrow streets. The door has been replaced with a large board and several others are across the now broken front window. A nail holds a letter or writ declaring the property rightfully seized as a foreclosure and the property of House Knife. No Trespassing.
Those on the street are simply passing by without so much as a curious look, indicating to you that this is normal living and not something out of the ordinary

Wil eventually gives up on trying to talk to the summoned creatures after an exhausting several days and quite a mess. He spends the next couple days trying to repair a hole in the wall of the room, created by a Rhino horn..and partial face. "You know..." Cicero said eventually. "I think you need a girlfriend." Wil laughed. "...and no you can't just summon one." Wil frowned. The thought of summoning a girlfriend dashed.
