Crimson's Warehouse

DM Robert - "Now hopefully he leads us back to their base of operations."
Saturday July 20th, 2019 10:36:54 AM

Stohp keeps her man in sight.

Invisible Bartomus keeps his man in sight.

Dorbin has a lock on the coin and knows the streets.

Stock just wants to deal out some street justice.

Micah wants to know what the target looks like.

Zander, while agreeing with Stock's sentiments, proposes holding off for now.

Sid changes his disguise but looses sight of the target.

=============

As he rounds the corner Stohp and Bartomus see their quarry slip on the hat again and become....a female? However, he does not change the way he(she) walks so really while looking like a female, he's not really pulling off the look, unless he's going for a female dock worker more used to hard labor than pretty things.

Bartomus manages to find an alleyway before his invisibility runs out. He spy's Sid and uses messenger to tell him what the man now looks like.

The trio continue following the underling. It's fortunate that the hat does not change what one is wearing. If the goon had thought to have glamored armor along with the hat of disguise there is no telling how hard it would have been to trail him.

Dorbin leads his crew along, confident in his ability to navigate the streets and keep track of the coin.

At last the man leads you to the north west, and walks around to a warehouse next to the Fish Emporium. The warehouse.
The ware house has seen better days, it could use a fresh coat of paint, maybe some woodwork here and there. There is only one door way into the warehouse, it's on the north side, facing out into the lake. It is a 3 story building. The only door is on the north side away from the street, a double door about 15 feet high, which would easily allow for freight moving in and out. There is a faded sign over the door way proclaiming, "Hawking Storage".

Only Sid, Stohp, and Bartomus have a chance to keep track of him around this corner. Succeed on a Stealth 25 check or Disguise 25 check
Highlight to display spoiler: {The man goes to the only door on the warehouse, and knocks. It is a coded knock. Knock (wait 3 seconds) knock, knock (wait 5 seconds) knock and then he takes a dagger out and scraps it down the door keeping the edge flat to the door.}

Bartomus followed along, and was both surprised and a bit amused at the change the goon had made. He was following along as best he could but he needed to take a breath, come back into view and then go out again. He scanned for anywhere to do so and shifted towards that location. He phased into view for a moment took a deep breath made sure all but the last of the spell that would let him turn into a whisp of wind at the ready.

Stohp ambles along down the street, just another girl heading home after a long day. She manages to walk right past the man as he knocks and she memorizes the code (stealth 26). She also notes that the building is a warehouse much like their own and guesses possible locations of boarded up windows (carpentry 28).

She heads further down the street and find a spot she can stop a little while to consult. "There's supposed to be a message spell up right? How does this work? she mutters, testing to see if anyone can hear her.

We're one street over to the east. What's the plan now? Stake out the building or storm the front door?" As he whispers Zander scans the street around them for anyone who appears to be a lookout or keeping watch.

The map.

The Float Merchant Level Map

Bartomus follows along. It must be noted that the post did not imply you were in rounds. I meant it to be that many minutes passed until the goon got to his goal, to this end Bartomus is probably already a small air elemental.

Stohp tails her target and follows him around the corner to the only door, she probably goes to the edge of the railing over looking the lake and makes deep sighing sounds. Note the only door ends in a dead end alley way with a view of the lake.

Micah seems to think that this route is similar to the one that is shown on Pepper's map.

Sid tracks the target but realizes he can't follow him around the corner into a dead end without being spotted.

Stock follows along with Dorbin till the group nears the Fish Emporium which is the big 36 on the map. Ah the smell of fresh fish...or perhaps not so fresh fish fills the air as it is being prepared for shipping to Plateau City. If you look on the city map you will note, that the Way Station is nearby. 34. The Way Station - The center of all materials that arrive and depart via teleport from Floating City. It has a schedule that is kept every day. Two incoming and two outgoing teleports to Plateau City which people can take. In the middle of the night there is a freight only teleport. There is also an occasional teleport to the Southern Continent. A few hours before each daytime teleport, freight wagons and their draft animals usually line up along the street leading to the west of the building. Youths will usually show up around these times and offer to clean the street and water the animals for a few coppers.

Dorbin says the coin is in that warehouse.

Zanderallen asks what the plan is.

-------------

Stohp quietly notes that her target went into the building when the door opened after that secret knock. Oh, yes, there was no creaking hinges when the door opened, the door at least seems to have been more maintained that the exterior of the building.

The party has found a warehouse that the goons seem to be using as a hideout. It's pretty well situated for that role. It looks run down. There is only one door way into the warehouse, it's on the north side, facing out into the lake AND the doorway is facing an empty cul-de-sac with NO other doors or windows. It is a 3 story building. The only door is on the north side away from the street, a double door about 15 feet high, which would easily allow for freight moving in and out. There is a faded sign over the door way proclaiming, "Hawking Storage".

To stake it out you could watch the streets leading back to the door way, but you could not actually eyeball the doorway as it faces out into the lake. LOOK AT THE MAPS. If anyone was just walking then sure staking out the streets would probably work.

The warehouse is next to the Fish Emporium, which is not necessarily prime real-estate. Not much chance of people wanting to gobble that up and run a business there.

Stoph having made her carpentry role can inform the party, "There may have been windows on south side facing the main street at one time but they have long been boarded over or removed. There may also have been some second story windows on this side as well, again probably removed and boarded over." Someone therefore has gone to some effort to remove other ways into and out of the premise. However, this has not been done recently, several years at least have occurred during which any other doors or any windows have been removed.

This may be it, but we have no way of knowing if anyone else, including Crimson is in there." When he observes Bartomus has joined them he asks, inclining his head to speak upwards, "Bart, did you check the roof? Having only one means of entrance and exit, makes little tactical sense. I also wonder if they might not have some means of exiting to the lake or to the lower level." He then turns to Dorbin, "This may not be the end of the trail. I would not rule out a way out below the street level. Keep a focus on that coin."

He then takes his own advice and scans the building with "detect magic".

Let me know how close Micah can get without being observed. Ideally, he would want to scan the entire building (not the lakeside, of course) for auras.

Stock inhales and then decides better not to. He awaits a party decision.

Bartomus checks things out from the air.

Micah gives some orders and then casts detect magic.

Zanderallen thinks there may be a secret sewer entrance.

Dorbin concentrates on the coin.

Sid keeps an eye out...?...but does not specify where.

Stohp wants to see if she can see inside.

-------------------

Bartomus floats around and see's that the 'roof' of the building is typical in that it is a flat roof. The building is about 165 feet on each side. There are 8 dirty skylight windows on the roof, none are near an edge. All the windows are spaced fairly evenly about the building, you surmise at one time they would have provided sufficient light for working indoors in a warehouse. There is some trash and debris on the roof as well. There does not appear to be any sort of trap door on the roof.

Micah casts detect magic. Hmm, there appears to be quite a bit very faint aura's clustered but moving around a few moderate aura's are in there as well. They seemed to be mostly clustered on the first floor along the south wall, the wall furthest and thus opposite the door.
Spellcraft 20
Highlight to display spoiler: { You surmise there maybe between 5 and 10 people, maybe carrying multiple potions and some +1 gear, nothing greater you think.}

Dorbin says the coin seems to be in along the center of the south portion of the warehouse. Probably where those magic aura's Micah detected are located. However, the coin is not moving and by walking around the to some different sides, Dorbin is able to determine that it is 2 feet off the ground? Maybe it's been dumped into a chest?

Sid watches but where?

Stohp examines the warehouse walls. Let me re-state. The doors and windows that may have once existed were not just boarded over, they were skillfully removed by artisan craftsmen who replaced them with structure and walls. Granted this work was done many years ago. However, Stohp is able to determine that while the warehouse looks worse for wear, structural it is quite strong. The entire structure is double walled, ie. an outer wall 2x4 skeleton every 16 inches, maybe some sort of insulation, likely linen, and then an interior wall. It is probably soundproof inside. A scraping of old paint some primer, and some new paint and this place would be an well worth whatever the asking price is.

PS ISO audit, tomorrow starts the walk around oh boy, and I'm with the repair tech in back to see if the laser cutter is fixed or not. I'm sure the auditor is going to ask about that.

The auras i detect inside are consistent with only minor magic and about 5 to 10 people. This does not look light a headquarters to me. Perhaps this is a safe house. I doubt we will find any big fish in here, but we could possibly find some clues."

"We can either wait an see if someone leaves or someone more important shows up or hit them with some Stock and Awe to see what we may uncover. I do not like saying this, but I think we should wait to see if someone else shows up or someone inside goes somewhere else."

And why stakeout the outside of the building when we can wait for somebody important inside the building? Use the secret knock to get them to open the door, rush in and take them captive. Then we can just wait for people to come back to the safe house and round them up as they come in. Eventually they'll have to come take it back from us, especially if it's where they're storing their loot. What does everyone think?" Zander looks around at everyone, the idea of using their own storehouse as a trap putting a large grin on his face.

It is nearing 5pm, if you recall you started this little paper chase at 4pm.

Stock wonders about climbing the Fish Emporium. OOC there is no information on this place other than a name. Even the DM page has no further details. However, it is a place of business and is still open. Though looking about it appears to be mainly late shoppers picking up fish for dinner. Apparently there is an attachment where they do some prep work for you allowing you to just pop it in the oven for a brief cooking. Climbing the walls would attract the attention of the few passerby, and definitely of the workers.

Knowledge Local 15
Highlight to display spoiler: { The first catch of the day has already been brought in and sold, mainly to city restaurants and to export to Plateau City. The Emporium has a mage on hand that specializes in cold spells to freeze the catch. There is late catch due in by 6, this is mostly made up of mussels and clams, things that can be kept overnight if need be.}

For all the talking and examining no one has actually as yet gone near the door, at least not from your descriptions of character actions. A Stealth 15 would get you to the door and back relatively quietly.

Perception 20
Highlight to display spoiler: { Examining the doorway reveals it to be made of sturdy wood and reinforced with some brass fittings. You think the brass may be about 1-2 years old in placement, it's not shiny, but it's not totally aged either. You do note that there is a very slight gap in the door and there is a bar across it. From the positioning of some exterior bolt heads you surmise that it's a typical drop bar. The gap MAY be wide enough to stick a blade through and force the bar up.}

OOC - Ran across this on the DM page, thought you all should know it as it pertains to your city...
Law Enforcement In The Big Float

Open Air and Gold Levels -- these are the levels of the rich and powerful. Those who can afford the teleport fees come here for tourism. Safety of visitors is paramount, and the city guard is watchful, professional, helpful, and present. If you look scruffy or like you do not belong, you are hustled off these levels toot sweet. Guards patrol singly.

Merchant Level -- Higher end shopping for all Floatizens, so long as they look like they have coin to spend. Tradesfolk and merchants do business here. City Guard is just as present as on the Gold Level, but less helpful and more vigilent. Guards patrol in pairs.

Barracks Level -- This is the lowest level frequented by the rich and noble, and they come here when they are "slumming it." The City Guard knows that people need to cut loose sometimes. They don't bother breaking up bar fights or hassling loud drunks. Guards patrol in triads, but security really comes from all the soldiers and guards stationed here. There are individual criminals, but they keep their heads down.

Fence Level -- Pier Row and the docks are well patrolled, because of the traffic in and out of the Float from the docks, and because the city relies so heavily on the fishing fleet for food. Away from the docks, the City Guards does not much care. They investigate reports of murder ... eventually. When they do, they arrive by the squad. The Fence is practically lawless, but since everybody knows everybody, things stay sort of civilized, except when there are gang wars. The worst area is Dagger Point, furthest from the docks. Note that the Giggling Ghost is on Dagger Point -- probably the founder hoped the presence of heroes would tamp down some of the crime. Crook Street is off Dagger Point, and of course you know the Ghost, very well, and you know that the whole reason the local business folk have sponsored you, paid for your warehouse home, and set you up with meals is because they want a Fence-Level adventuring group to help keep the level safer!

Trash Level -- this dark level is the worst place in the Float. City Guards seldom even show up, and when they do, it is by the dozens. There are gangs on the Fence and gangs in the Trash ... Fence gangs keep a low profile, and pretend to be good citizens, using nonlethal weapons because the City Guard does not care so long as nobody dies. Trash gangs rule openly like warlords jostling for territory. They leave bodies in the streets, and nobody does anything about it.

You think the brass may be about 1-2 years old in placement, it's not shiny, but it's not totally aged either. You do note that there is a very slight gap in the door and there is a bar across it. From the positioning of some exterior bolt heads you surmise that it's a typical drop bar. The gap MAY be wide enough to stick a blade through and force the bar up.}

"Ok, let me just check one thing first."

Stock fishes in his pack and pulls out a small black vial. He downs it and promptly disappears. He leaves a chuckling sound in his wake as he moves quickly toward the warehouse.

A moment later, Stock reappears and says, "The door is likely barred. Probably the newest piece of hardware on this dump. If they don't open it, we'll need to try to slide a blade in the crack and pop it. Otherwise I'm not sure I'll be able to bust it down. All set then? Let's go." Stock leads the way to the door, no longer caring about stealth.

Micah crosses the street moving against the wall next to Zanderallen.

Years of growing up in a smithy with the sounds of bellows pumping, fires blazing, and hammers pounding have not produced a natural tendency to move quietly. Thus, he does not do so even as he approaches the building. He counts rather on the fact that they are using the secret knock, to dissuade those inside from being concerned about anything they may hear outside.

He continues to focus his detect magic on the space behind the door watching for auras moving in response to their approach and knock.

DM Robert - "Well, let's do this."
Saturday July 27th, 2019 12:27:22 PM

Stock goes back and forth from the door. YOU didn't declare a position on the map so I have to guess.

Bartomus hangs way back from the door. AE3 ?

Dorbin goes to the door but hangs back. I can't put you at -2 because when you add rows or columns the entire numbering system changes.

Zander moves forward, ready for combat.

Stohp moves forward and knocks. Not sure what you mean by position yourself on row three as previously discussed. This is the first time the map was up. Reach only means you can stand 1 row back from the door/wall. So I placed you best I could extrapulate.

Sid moves up, and again you did not specify where you wanted to be.

Micah moves forward not bothering with silence.

--------------

Sid tries to remember what he's heard about the area. Unfortunately nothing comes to mind. An empty warehouse does not draw much gossip. After all technically for several years the Float has just barely been making it on exporting fish and some trade goods, having to import much of everything else. There are several empty warehouses on every level....not to mention empty buildings in general. After all your own Headquarters is a case in point. But with the forest opening up, there has been a change in the hopes of people, as in hope that the Float can live as a city and fewer people move away in search of a livelihood.

Stohp does the secret knock. A minute or two passes.

Micah lets you know there is a minor couple of aura's moving to the doors. As in one person carrying a couple low level magic items.

You hear, "You're early." and the scrap of the bar being lifted from the doors......

At this point we que the commercial.

When he hears the voice from inside, he inhales deeply in preparation for the action that is about to begin.

Stohp resists the urges to attack.

Zanderallen tries to force his way in.

Sid [i]moves more than 5 feet so only gets one attack
basically makes a modified charge to attack.

Stock tries to force his way in. Sorry only taking the first substitute Stock action.

----------------

The lighting is dim but Sid's impetuous attack manages to get behind the guard and attacks successfully.
You can make out crates stacked around. OOC Sid you didn't roll surprise/sneak attack damage. No your sneak is not going to put him down. So what happens still happens.

"Oh crap." The guard says. The guard is no longer surprised. However, he doesn't try to throw down with you either. He attempts to withdraw from you. He is dressed in studded leather and has several weapons upon his person. He has a spear in his hand. He looks unkept and a trifle ruff around the edges on personal hygiene. Sid may have an OOC, no sneak attack on that one.

Next round we will be switched maps to the interior map. Things are a little helter skelter so you can quickly see that there are large crates stacked near the door, they are on top of each other and reach 8 feet high. Basically they are 10x10x4 feet. At the end of the west side there is a barrel of some sort, (the blue square), it looks sorta like one of those water barrels that you've seen around town, the ones for the 'fire insurance'. Sid can see that the guard is running back and there is room for him but maybe 45 feet or so back is another row of crates running east west.

OOC, Bestiary, Minotaurs have Darkvision, so Stock, Stohp, and Bartomus have unlimited vision in here.

Stock moves in, peering around the crates. The warehouse appears empty so far.

Bartomus moves forward, eyes darting, but see's nothing but crates and barrels. He does hear the sound of feet shuffling in place from the east and west balconies as the silence spell moved forward.

Dorbin creeps forward words to a Web spell ready on his lips.

Micah moves forward, ever silent.

Zanderallen moves forward but see's nothing untoward.

Stohp ?

Suddenly, everyone but Micah and Zanderallen hear a loud crash from the doorway from which you enter. Turning you can see that one of the stacked crates near the door has been toppled over now blocking the door. You can also see standing on the 2 foot crate at V5,6/W5,6 a large blue skinned creature with tusks in a chain shirt, with a great sword and bow. (This is C) You surmise he may have been responsible for that crate going over.

Zanderallen and Micah Perception 15 to feel a vibration in the floor from the crate toppling over.

Suddenly there is a bright flare of a sunrod being activated on the second level (which is 15 feet above the floor). There is a man holding it (M1). You recognize him as the man you tailed here. He is also holding a long bow, also on his bow arm is a buckler. He still has the chain shirt on. He ALSO appears to have some goggles on. He speaks. "I must say you took your time. Now we can do this the easy way or the hard way. Easy, you lay down your weapons, I promise to be quick and efficient. NO pain, Lord Gargul I'm sure will welcome you with open arms." He pauses. "Hard way, we battle. Either way I get paid because you'll be dead."

ONLY STOCK, STOHP, and BARTOMUS can see g2, g3, g4, g5, g6, and g7. Yes they are all pretty much the same as the other guard you've now knocked out.

He does, however, see that there is light before them, and deduces that they need to act boldly and decisively. Without hesitating, he castes enlarge person on Zanderallen, using his metamagic rod and points emphatically forward toward the light.

He then moves around the stack of crates, opposite of Zanderallen's side to approach the light source from the another front.

OOC See map legend, the number in the boxes depict how high the crates are in FEET, the bases are either 5x5 or 10x10 in Feet, most box stats over 4 feet high are double or triple stacked. But they are solid wood so knocking them over would take some effort. As to their contents....

PLEASE make a stealth roll if you intend to duck behind crates for some cover.

Stohp gives some back talk back to the man. Then tries to get the blue giant into a grapple. Unfortunately she doesn't even come close.

Bartomus does a disappearing act and shifts position. Please make a Stealth roll.

Stock gives his opinion of the man's plan and then goes into a rage and attacks the blue giant. Sorry had to put you at X7 because Stohp takes up a lot of room. He just barely manages to hit the creature.

Engulfed by his spell, Micah hears nothing. The sudden flashes of silently light bursting around the room seem surreal and eliminate any doubt that they are not fully in the fray. The silent pain of the arrow nicking his flesh beneath his chain shirt reinforces that.

Stock charges up the stairs and lays into the man (g5). The guards are not giants they are barbarian humans

Bartomus calls down some lighting but the guard manages to dodge some of it. Sadly Bartomus's skill with the sling is still lacking as the bullet sails near but still misses.

Zander stands up and moves around the crates, trying to look intimidating.

Micah's spiritual hammer gives the woman a whack and Micah dances around her and gives her a mighty whack as well.
Micah looses 2 points Dex. Please make another save vs. the left hand at DC 18 fort.

Sid does a running tumble up the boxes and is now standing on a 4 foot tall crate. He aims at G6 and hits.

Dorbin's Archon does some damage to the guard. Dorbin casts a grease spell and see's the guard slip and fall.
OOC, well I had to go look that up,I always thought you had to have an aligned weapon. In the case of humans, they do. Creatures with the subtype Evil can bypass the Archon's DR with natural or held weapons. So no he did not take damage, which is why I said 'dink'.

Fire spread check...dang the fires do not spread this round. But they keep burning.

G2 "Arg. AAHHAAHAH." He screams as only a raging human can.
To hit Archon. To hit 28, Damage to ARchon 3 gets through, Second attack 17 miss.

G3 is on the ground. He reaches into his pocket and throws at D11, hitting the square with a ThunderStone! Everyone in 10 feet must make a Fortitude save 15 or be deafened for 1 hour (20% chance spells with verbal component fails if you are deafened.)

G4 moves down the walkway and shoots at Micah. To hit 28, HIT, not confirmed. Damage 9.

G5 "MUAHAHAHHA." He laughs and goes stabby stab with his spear on Stock.
To hit 32! Confimred with a 26! Damage 14 Second stab to hit 12, miss.

G6 takes out his spear and joins in the stabbing of Stock. And yes the guard is raging.
To hit 13, miss. to hit 15, miss.

G7 continues to targe Zanderallen but now in the back.. To hit 19 miss, 6 miss.

The creature decides to shoot at Sid, because after all a flashy acrobatic tumbling human is always sight to set your eyes on. To hit 17, MISS.

The man scans the battlefield. Sid is the only target without cover. You hear the creak of the bow.
first shot 38 to hit, damage 8 normal, 1 nonlethal.

He dropped another bullet into his sling and as he did so he looked across the way at the guard who had dodged his lightning bolt moments ago. He shook his head, nothing else seemed to make sense to him. The crates provided some cover, he thought, though some were exploding elsewhere.

He flicked his fingers downward at the furthest guard and let a bolt come from the sky as he release his bullet at the guard closest to him.

Micah blocks most of the woman's attacks, but there are so many of them that one gets through. He makes an inane comment about a girl in a place like this, but only because it is impossible for her or anyone else to hear the normally serious priest say anything so corn. Laughing at himself, he is unable to land any blows himself, but his spiritual hammer manages to connect soundly once again. He does manage to move around her to allow Zanderallen a chance to flank again. As he does so, a mad grin still on his face, he nods at the paladin in invitation.

Micah quickly looks around at the fires and the smoke they are producing. Recalling what the lizardfolk gave him and the other Silver Shields, he looks for materials he could throw into the fire to produce even more smoke.

Do the fires provide light? If so that would eliminate the dim lighting.

Re: Micah's questions, I would say the front half of the warehouse might now be one step of from lowlight, the back is still dim, but there is also the sunrod within 20 feet of you providing light so no miss chance right now. Smoke is slowly billowing in the ceiling. Well the crates are on fire and there appears to be something flamable within those crates, but it is not resinous, more like straw and linen soaked in kerosene.

Bartomus slings a bullet and is not sure where it went sailing. Then he brings down another lighting bolt but that guard seems to be on his game.

Stock hard rages and attacks. One hit is not taking the guard down (well okay 2, but first hit this round). The second hit floors the guard in a gooey mess.

Dorbin last round the guard threw a ThunderStone! You and the Archon were in 10 feet and must make a Fortitude save 15 or be deafened for 1 hour (20% chance spells with verbal component fails if you are deafened.
The Archon attacks but the man is still up.
Dorbin casts an acid arrow, it hits (rolled for that 20% miss chance).

Micah attacks, but only his spiritual hammer lands a blow. Then he moves (do you mean U19? T19 is more than 5 feet away.

Zanderallen steps up and smites the woman.....actually the first swing kills her outright. I mean she is a rogue/assassin how could she not be evil. The woman splatters she nearby boxes with her blood...

Stohp moves up and attempts to grapple G6. However, he proves elusive.

Sid fires at the man, hitting once. Then he decides some cover might be good and seeks some. No stealth unless you have a feat that lets you do it as a free action.

G4 Notices Bartomus and decides to throw his Javelin of lighting at the nearby 'water' barrel. Nat 20 to hit the water barrel. KaBoom. There's more fire!

G5 dead.

G6 "You killed KENNY." He shouts at Stock. He stabs at Stock.

G7 moves up to behind G6 and flings his Javelin of lighting at the barrel of 'water' that Sid just happened to jump down next to. To hit the barrel, 25, he hits it. Sid make a Reflex save of 12 to avoid becoming engulfed in bursting alchemist fire.

The creature moves to AA8/9AB8/9 still flying near the ceiling. He shoots at Stohp. Hitting her with a crit 30, but not confirming. Damage 15

The man yells "Aeon!" as the girl dies, but Zanderallen and Micah hear nothing. HE shifts his target to Zanderallen, upping his game with his anger and hurt. (I'm giving you +4 cover from the crate you're next to but his is also 15 feet + about 4 feet to his arm off the floor.)

Its foe lighting in a ghastly puddle, the spiritual hammer floats eerily in place, awaiting further instructions from its summoner. That summoner, Micah, is too focused on the next target to divert any attention on the celestial weapon.

Determined to get Zanderallen up on the mezzanine, he rushes around the crates to the edge of the ledge. Sid manages to avoid getting sprayed with alchemist fire and shoots at the man while trying to distract him with banter.

Stohp doesn't have to squeeze she can just move up since Stock moved forward. (Also I don't think you can end your turn in a space occupied by someone else.) However in moving forward it seems she forgot to do anything.

Bartomus is satififed when is call lightning does full damage and his sling stone hits as well.

MIcah swings, but the back of the warehouse is still dim light. However, his hit still lands. (So how tall is Large? the landing is 15 feet high.)

Stohp tries to grapple the guard but fails.

Stock edges forward and swings his flail. Taking out the pathetic excuse for a guard.

Zanderallen closes on the man but finds him elusive.

Dorbin's acid arrows eat slowly into the guard.

Sid takes the low road and moves quietly.

G3 has had enough from this puny human. Archon gets an AOO as Guard 3 advances on Dorbin.

G4 moves away from the railing and to the back wall, advancing toward the stairs.

G6 hearing one of his bosses instructions takes a 5 foot step over the railing and makes an acrobatic tumble to avoid the falling damage.

G7 dies horribly, well really any death is horrible to the person that died.

The creature calls out, "Get out of the way Thule." and uses an innate ability and generates a cone of cold that hits Stohp and Stock. Reflex save 18 for half damage. Damage is 29 points before halving. He then continues to move southward.

The man drops his bow and whips out his rapier taking a 5 foot step away from the banister/edge of the landing. "Well I'm not quite as skilled with this but let's dance."

OOC hmm, I had to look up critical hits, I thought that only the weapon die was doubled, but it says all your usual modifiers except special weapon damage ie flaming.
Lowlight vision can see 80 feet - Elves
Regular vision can see 40 feet - Humans
Darkvision can see across the room. - Dwarves & Minotaurs.
Back half of the warehouse is dim light, front half thanks to the fires is normal light but the ceiling is filling with smoke.

Bartomus (the guard moved to the back of the wall and is 15 feet up, I'm going to rule at the very least he has partial cover from you) but with your role you still hit. He does manage to dodge part of the lighting bolt.

Stock (no AOO, he essentially took a 5 foot step horizontally even if the change was greater vertically, he rolled acrobatics to avoid the falling damage). He runs down the wall and then leaps over the railing to land below, but lands terribly. (the d6 is non lethal damage since you jumped of your own volition, and it doesn't say anything about falling prone if you fail the roll.)

Zanderallen swings but the man manages to avoid the blows.

Dorbin watches in fear as the guard advances on him but the Archon goes to town on him and with the acid still eating at him, he falls dead. Dorbin starts flying.

Micah heals the stated people 15 hit points (in case no one counted his d6 rolls). He asks about the lighting javelins (no one has stopped to look). (The blue h is your spiritual hammer).

Stohp hustles down the landing.

Sid moves...I'm not sure what your path is. You state you run, but running as a full round action has to be in a straight line. You could double move, I'll let you use Acrobatics instead of climb but changing elevation would still cost double. There's no way you would be able to get to the west side of the man strait from below. (You would have to get to T26 and that's a stretch from Micah with Zanderallen blocking any closer railing. 8 of your 12 movement would get you to W26, that would leave 4 moves but again I can only work out your getting even with Zanderallen at U28....So I'm putting you at V28 as the closest pathway I can see without putting you in direct confrontation yet.) If you want to do something else you need to give me a path that would work for your stated intentions, oh and since you double moved you don't get any attack.

PS, sorry if I've missed some movements, having to scroll up and down to read actions and write them in and then click on tabs back and forth to get to the map and make changes. Posting in combat generally takes me over an hour a night. Sometimes I miss things, like the fact that all the grunts had Oil of Magic Weapon and they should have oiled up some weapons against you. Oh well, if you survive the fire there's loot.

Stohp sleeps peacefully.

Bartomus wildshapes into an air elemental..What size elemental?

Stock swings his flail but can't seem to connect with the raging grunt.

Dorbin, I had to look up running earlier, it said running has to be in a straight line, taking a corner will negate the run. He could double move to I26. Okay? The Archon double moves as Dorbin dismisses the Grease spell.
Dorbin is flying, fly speed is 60, flying creatures can't run (see the spell descriptor page 284). You can double move to Q24 (The S on the map is Sid - my bad I'm not paying attention to my own key), Dorbin zooms nearer the action.

Zanderallen thinks things will go well with Sid flanking, but for some reason the man keeps avoiding his swings.

Micah moves over to Stock and lays some healing on him.

Sid...Drinking a potion is a standard action and provokes an AOO. You can't attack and drink a potion (see the table 8-2 on page 183). I'm going to assume Sid would want to take a 5 foot step back to avoid an AOO from the man in order to drink his potion without getting dinged. So I moved you to R29, after Zanderallen takes his flanking swings....having faced the dancing sword of the evildoer, and seen Zanderallen amazingly miss decides to take a step back for a quick pick-me-up and whips out a potion and swallows it.

Back half of the warehouse is dim light, - except for around Zanderallen's flaming sword- front half thanks to the fires is normal light but the ceiling is filling with smoke.

Stock wails on the Guard beside him and just manages to kill him with two terrific blows, plus the minor damage he previously had. Sadly Kenney shall not be avenged.

Zanderallen, frustrated, goes over to check on Stohp.

Sid goes over the railing neatly and lands on the floor. He see's a door at the line of R25/26 that is partly open and from which light shines.
Perception 15 Highlight to display spoiler: {A quick glance shows a table with a lantern on it and some other furniture, no mist though.}

Stohp wakes up, somewhat disoriented.

Bartomus (now Bw on the map since he is a medium sized whirlwind) tries to get through the cracks in the flooring, but he has more physical form than the man and cannot get through. You see the doorway at the line of R25/26 near Sid and you see a doorway at the line of X25/26. That door is closed.

Micah, not exactly sure where the man was when he sank through the floor boards, can only judge from where he saw Zanderallen fighting. He deems it unlikely that it is the door by which he is currently standing and goes to the doorway at the line of X25/26 and tries the door. It is not locked. He opens it. (and since you already rolled perception) you see a dim translucent mist, which is very hard to see in this darkened room mind you, you only see more of movement in the air. The mist is in the back corner of the room and is seeping through the boarding of the outer walls. However it is slow going because both the inner and outer is walled and there is some form of insulation in the walls.

Dorbin and his Archon are apparently not sure what to do.

Dorbin drops a sleet storm on the front of the warehouse, totally obscuring from vision anything in the storm. Of course it works both ways they can't see out either. And since the spell states, it will extinguish torches and small fires, I'm assuming that's with one round of application. So most likely 8 rounds is going to extinguish any fire in that area of effect. Hero Point to Dorbin for thinking outside the box and putting out some fires.

Zanderallen puts his sword away (?really you could have just as easily Errol Flynned over the side of taken the d6 damage and still have a had a LIGHT SOURCE!) and moves over to Micah in the dim light.

Bartomus...I'm not sure what you mean in your post "...settling up on three limestone that reads dropped on the crates." But he moves to T22.

Stock moves into the warehouse. As to moving the crate that fell over. It all depends on What Stock thinks he can move. It's a crate 10x10x4 made of wood with unknown contents. It's likely very heavy. The Creature was able to topple it off the crate it was stacked on. Might take more than just Stock to move it.

Dorbin, actually that would be a Spellcraft check. Your character sheet says you have +17 for that, with the '4' you rolled it would be enough to identify it as a gaseous form spell. Quick sum up, it has DR 10/magical, immune to poison, sneak attack, crits. Fly speed of 10. Can't really attack or cast spells. Is subject to the effects of Wind, can't enter water. Can pass through small holes, narrow openings, even mere cracks. Never-the-less your Dispel magic does fail.

Micah calls on the the man to surrender. (Have we established how tall you are? The spell says it doubles your height, that would make you 11'8". You are on the ground floor and the landing is 15 feet high, ie can you even see him? You're mace might act as a torch but I think that only gives you 20 foot radius of sight, I may be wrong since Zachary has memorized the rule book.)

Zanderallen moves back a bit and draws his bow. (So enlarge person makes you 12'2", the mist is ground hugging maybe not even a foot high, the landing is 15 feet high, there's no light source up there, you don't have darkvision.)

Sid looks around the room and sticks his sword into the coins expecting something terrible to happen. But nothing does. And except for the chest and coins there is no incriminating evidence he can see. (Taking your bag out and dumping them is going to be more than a 1 round action.)

Stohp tries to tell someone to summon the fire brigade.

Stock ever the single minded engine of destruction, goes charging past Guard 4, and stops realizing that what he thought was smoke was in fact Dorbin's Sleet Storm still sleeting and storming.

Bartomus ends his whirling twirling and comes to rest in front of Micah as his old Taur self.

Dorbin descends to safety. The hound archon leaps over the railing and double moves to the guard just as he reaches him he poofs elsewhere. (Which really if you think about it is still a cool and unnerving effect on that guard.)

Micah still calls for surrender and casts Holy smite. (He rolled a 9 for his save)

Stohp runs down the landing and down the stairs to look at the fire. It's a hot. The wall is on fire to about 8 feet high. It will probably continue to burn upwards and perhaps outward. The main source of fire is still at AG,AH 7,8. That's really burning hot. The building is still okay, the floor is burning though where the fire has been. Not sure how far it would burn down before it enters the structure of the Float itself.

Zanderallen comes around the crates and yells for the guard to drop the bow and raise his hands. He inadvertently is standing partially on the woman that he killed earlier. Good thing he's not a cleric or paladin of Gargul, no respect for the dead.

Sid sheaths his sword and drops to a knee scooping coins out of the chest into his bag like his life depended on it.

Stock tries to intimate the guard and then moves through the sleet. (double move allowed) The heat of his rage melts the snow that falls on his head. In his Rage state does Stock wonder if maybe just smashing the crate to smithereens would be easier than trying to move it?

Zanderallen moves over the guard, heals him and then asks some leading questions.

Dorbin calls out that the sleet is putting out the fires. He tries to summon something else.
At this point the fires within the sleet have all been put out. I'm not sure how its going to affect adjacent squares. Does the sleet/snow melt on contact with the ground? Does it accumulate and pile up? Could piles of sleet/snow be used to dump on fires? I'm willing to listen to arguments on this.

Stohp makes her way over to the doorway, but is now in a spot where she has to squeeze past fire or go over crates.

Micah calls on heroic reserves and casts Holy Smite yet again. (I looked there's nothing in the spell description saying the spell is blocked by walls or such.) OH and yes he rolled a 10 on his save this time, oh boy 1 better than last time.

On the sleet storm, since it has a duration, I would it would just have the ground remain icy for a few rounds as the ice melts. However, in this case, Dorbin is dismissing it, so I would assume all the ice would instantly disappear. The description of the water elemental says that the elemental can drench, putting out non-magical fires of large or smaller. I'm going to rule that even though you dismissed the Sleet Storm, the effects don't disappear. Therefore since the sleet storm was in effect for 4 rounds, you will have 1 round of snow and 1 round of slush to play with.

Sid rushes forward calling to Micah and others for ideas on the fire.

Stock swings his flail like one possessed. He crushes the one side of the box into splinters and advances 5 feet still swinging to crush the other side of the box. One door now is free of box, relatively as there are many fragments of wood on the floor and the door does open inwards. (Hint, I gave the box sides the same object hardness as a strong wooden door, that which is in front of you right now, to wit, Dr5, 20 hit points. You may decide which would be easier, crushing a path out or kicking debris out of the way and then opening the door.)

Bartomus gets over near the westernmost fire and casts Create Water over it.
(at your level you can create 16 gallons of water. The spell says that 8 gallons is one cubic foot, that measures 1x1x1 and weighs 60 pounds. So I'm going to say that you can put out one 5x5 square of fire with that. I'm extinguishing G16.)

Dorbin summons a Water elemental to put out the fire. I'd say large is going to be the same dimensions we use for creatures so a 10x10 area. I'm Drenching G,H/14,15 Dorbin doesn't see anything else really from his higher vantage point. He does note that the black sooty smoke is clearing from the upper parts of the building since the one skylight was broken out by the fleeing blue skinned large creature.

Zanderallen calls out dire warnings to the group and rushes over to move some of the 'water' barrels. Indeed.
Perception 15 sir, Highlight to display spoiler: {You note that the Water barrel is marked 'Water' but the script is different from the one you saw being put in front of Micah's father's store.}

Micah Opps sorry I missed that, there's nothing in the room, nothing except some wet boards, you would have noted the nothingness when you cast the Create Water earlier in that room. Therefore I'm giving you a little extra movement and putting you at Y,Z/19,20. He casts Create water at G13. See the information/ruling under Bart's character concerning how much of the fire you can put out with a single casting. Which puts that fire out completely thanks to the Water Elemental.

Stohp did not see any tools. She goes up the crates and see's Stock's destruction of 1/2 the crate that was blocking the door. She drops down and with her great lengthy arms, starts sweeping wooden debris from the door way. Ergo, I'm now ruling between Stock & Stohp's destruction and clearing action that the left door can be now swung inward without having to break it down.

Zanderallen picks up the barrel and carries it gently away from the fire to the north. "These barrels appear to be marked with a special script, different from the barrel at your family's place of business Micah."

Getting impatient even though no time has passed Stohp starts moving around the building to the street yelling "FIRE, where is the fire brigade!" coughing in the fresher air.

Sid shifts to O16 and lobs as much snow and slush he can at a Y11, hoping some of it gets to the fire.

Stohp swings the door open and heads into the street, yelling for the Fire Brigade.

As a reminder you are in the Northwest corner of the Float, here is the map.

Micah moves toward the door and uses create water to quench the fire at T8.

Stock still in a rage destroys the door way that Stohp had begun to swing open.

Dorbin flys forward (putting you at T17 since Micah was Occupying the U). The water elemental moves to the fire. (Cannot find it's move rate so I'm assuming 30 and double moved him.)

Zanderallen moves his barrel and points out that these barrels are marked differently from the one taken to Micah's dad's business.

Sid moves and lobs some snowballs, -4 for range. But it's a square so AC target is 5. You hit both times. (even though you moved more than 5 feet so really only should get one snowball). However you're two little snowballs don't have much effect on the heart of that blaze.

Bartomus?

---
Some more fire goes out.
Fire spreads check...one fire spreads. That fire on the east is really eating up some wall.
FYI, the barrels are not 5x5 but I can't make smaller map indicators. They are like the small like a pony keg, a little over 5 gallons.

G4, takes a 5 foot slide step and heaps more snow on the fire at U8. It goes out!

I estimate it will take you 3 rounds to put out the rest of the fires. You are not in combat. Do you want to say the fire is done?

Fatigued: 32 rounds

Stock slams through the door, narrowly missing Stohp. "Sorry Stohp." He then takes a deep breath of the outside air and begins to deflate a bit as the tension dips a bit. He turns around and heads back into the burning building to help.

Stohp (Sub by JonM)
Tuesday August 27th, 2019 9:40:27 AM

Stohp waves an exhausted arm in Stock's direction at his apology. Anybody who spends much time with the volatile dwarf understands the hazards of working with him. She continues bellowing "FIRE!", cycling through all 10(!) languages she knows and moves steadily away from the building trying to get the attention of first responders.

Dorbin directs the water elemental to the largest blaze, knowing it will be happy destroying it's mortal enemy.

Micah steps over to pick up the remains of the woman, wanting to search her body for any clues at a later, less critical time and calls forth more water on the remaining fires, slowing working his way, with his new burden, toward the door.

With his magically inclined allies putting out the fires Zander runs up the balcony with his sword drawn for light. He heads to the approximate location he watched Micah holy smiting the leader and searches around the area for a gaseous or otherwise body.

Sid runs around and almost helps with putting out the fires as the magically inclined finish the job. Stumbling out of the building afterwards he breathes deep of the cleaner float air. "Gods, why would they do that?"
